You say that you don't need every detail. But just wait there will be a detail that you want to see or that is very important in the novel but was not in the comic. And there is nothing wrong with extra details. Another thing is that its pacing is way too fast there is no flow of time. One chapter is about a day then the next chapter is about a few days late. You are on the mark. The pacing is very fast. I rather have this comic go slow than fast pacing. I want all the scenes from the book to be in the comic.

I feel that it is a problem for example chapter 1 of the comic. They skip a lot of scenes. Zi goes to his campes one or two times before the dad picks him up.
