[A Short Author's Message - in case you haven't read my message in the past chapter lol]
Hello everyone! You might be wondering why I suddenly uploaded daily chapters for May XD  
CARING FOR MR. MUTANT WILL END SOON!
Writing a sci-fi romance novel has been challenging! This is my first time writing in this genre, and the first novel I uploaded here in Webnovel. Apologies for the several info dump!  
Please check out my other books, they are better in execution than this one, as well as less info dump. They are more romantic as well XD  
Caring for Mr. Mutant is more of a sci-fi than a romance. If you have noticed, I focused more on the main plot than having Lia and Aesop all lovey-dovey! So I'm sorry if I failed your expectations!

Dr. Jaia felt victorious that she blamed everything on the arrogant Dr. Brown. Since he already had a bad reputation, it wouldn't be too shocking to the employees of D.M. Cadre. No one will say that he was not capable of killing anyone.
'Now, no one will think that I was the one who…' a grin escaped from Dr. Jaia's lips. She was the one who edited the video by replacing the original audio by a post-recorded audio at the part wherein she was asking him questions.

Dr. Brown: "I was wrongly accused of hacking the D.M. Cadre System, and was imprisoned for months."
Dr. Jaia: "Do you want to get revenge on the real hacker?"
Dr. Brown: "Yes, I want to get revenge."
Dr. Jaia: "How about Sanya... Do you still blame her for everything?"
Dr. Brown: (There was a long pause before he answered) "Yes."
And the video ended.

As soon as Dior Svenkin heard about his ex-boss' alleged crime, he hurried to the Genetic Engineering Laboratory, where Sanya became an officer-in-charge because of the sudden resignation of Dr. Lucian. He barged into her office and said in a high tone, "Dr. Brown is innocent!"
Sanya, upon seeing him enraged, stood up from her seat and stared at him.
"He may be arrogant at times, but… He will never kill a person!"
"I don't know how good he was to you before, but he was never a good boss to me. So I'm sorry. You won't be able to convince me."
"That Dr. Jaia… I think she's lying-"
"You don't know her! Why would she lie? Do you think it will make sense that she will kill Dr. Logan when they were so close and had so many experiments together?" Sanya responded emotionally, "You weren't there when Dr. Jaia struggled for her passion in her work. I saw how she loves being a scientist!"
"Sanya…" Dior furrowed his eyebrows, "You've changed…"
"I did not change. I was merely stating my opinion-"
He shook his head, "You've changed, because you are not listening to me anymore."
"I don't have to agree to everything you'll say, right?" She crossed her arms, "I am now a Core Scientist. And I am not the old Sanya who kept on following you around."
Hearing this, a sigh escaped from Dior. Surely, climbing up the ladder might have changed Sanya. He could still remember when she was a new employee, and he was assigned to guide her and keep her busy. Back then, her gray eyes were filled with wonder and awe towards what was happening in the laboratory, but now, they were staring blankly, as if she was a robot doing a job that was programmed in her brain.
"Sanya, do you love science because you plainly love it, or do you need to love science because it is your job as a scientist?"
"What kind of question is that-"
"I… tried to love science because I am a scientist," Dior uttered, before turning his back on her, "But it's high time that I quit. Lately, things have been hard to handle, and it's not good. I'm very stressed right now."
"Instead of being with us to solve the problem, you're running away. I never thought you'd be a coward…" she told him, "This is why you're not promoted. You are very choosy with your experiments, and you don't take the trivial ones."
"I don't want to be part of an experiment that can make mutants cry in pain. I am proud of myself that I avoided those..." And with that, Dior stepped out of the room.
"They are leaving one by one…" Sanya whispered to herself. Although it had been hard lately, she couldn't give up and leave Dr. Jaia alone. After all, they've been through a lot together, and she promised her that she would help.
She sat again on her softly cushioned office chair and leaned at the backrest. As she stared blankly on the empty office, the thoughts of wanting to wake up from a long nightmare occupied her mind. She wished that when she wakes up the next morning, everyone who left would return.

Two days later, Dr. Jaia heard some interesting news. She invited a mysterious man into her new office, the Head Scientist's office, and they talked about it.  
"Mutants… on a moving island?" she asked the man, who she hired to look for more mutants around the country.
The man nodded, "Yes, it exists. According to the informants, the island stops once a month in a certain area to replenish resources."
"How come the island can move?"  
"I don't know, Dr. Jaia… But I suspect that it is solar-powered because after all, it is a type of watercraft. And all vehicles and watercraft in our country are run by renewable energy, as we have the Anti-Gasoline Law."
"That makes sense," she replied, "I want to get all the mutants in this mutant island you speak of. Where do you think they'd go?"
The man showed his tablet to Dr. Jaia. There was a map, "According to the possible routes… They might have arrived near Maxine City last night."
"Maxine City, huh… That's just an hour west from here, right? It's the westernmost part of the country."
"Yes, ma'am. If you want to force them to come with you, you should prepare within the day. They might leave again anytime."
"You're right. I will… do everything to get my hands on them…!" Her eyes were filled with determination. Then, on her cellphone, she called the one temporarily in charge of the security team, "I need at least a hundred men to head for Maxine City. Prepare a lot of tranquilizers and large cages, as well as wheeled aquariums."
The officer-in-charge was confused; it was as if getting into war. But because she's the new Head Scientist, he knew he needed to follow her orders. "We shall prepare for it, ma'am." Then, the call ended.
"I wonder what kinds of mutants are there," Dr. Jaia said with a bright smile as the news has put her into a good mood.  
"Excuse me, Dr. Jaia. I need to go now to watch their actions. I'll update you if anything happens."
"Alright. Thank you for the information."  
They both stood up, shook hands, and their short meeting ended.
Five hours later, when the sun was about to set, Aesop (vulture mutant), Alden (armadillo mutant), Tyron (octopus mutant), and Flare (two-tailed scorpion mutant) stood on the docks at Maxine City. Together with them were Niki (eagle mutant) and Kent (squid mutant).
"I would love to welcome you aboard our home, but you insisted on going back." Niki told them, "Thank you for helping out to gather food and repairing some of our huts. We really appreciate it."
"No problem," Aesop said, "Thanks for accommodating us."
"It was a fun experience!" Flare exclaimed, beaming a smile, "I hope to visit you all next time."
Alden and Tyron nodded and also smiled at them, then said their thanks.
"I'll miss having a fishing buddy," Kent told Tyron, "I think it will be hard to meet another mutant who can shake hands with me properly."
They all laughed.
"See you next time, guys," Niki said, "Send my regards to Varus. And please tell him not to pretend to be a cat mutant anymore. It doesn't suit him!"
And with that, the squid mutant dove into the calm waters, and the eagle mutant rose up in the air.  
But when Niki had already flown to a distance, Aesop and the others saw that she suddenly fell into the water.
"What the… Niki!!!" Flare yelled, worried about what they saw.
"Kent will probably see her underneath. I will help them," Tyron uttered before diving.
Soon after, several cargo e-vans and gigantic e-trucks arrived at the port.
Several armed men got out of the vehicles. They all approached the three mutants, pointing their tranquilizer guns and hunter nets at them.  
Dr. Jaia came down from one of the cargo e-vans. She stepped towards them with a wide grin, "Long time no see, my mutants... Now come with us! It's time to go home!!!"

How can a Mutant and a Mutant Caretaker fight for their love, if science is their greatest enemy?

Year 2023: Random DNA mutations suddenly occurred around the world. These mutations caused newborn babies to acquire animal traits, and no one knows why or where they originated. 

Year 2033: When funds, advanced technology, and a capable workforce became available to study these mutants, a national team of scientists was formed, called the "DNA Mutation Cadre" or "D.M. Cadre". They were given modern, state-of-the-art laboratories complete with equipment and isolation rooms. Here, mutants were studied and monitored in exchange for a large sum of money and government assistance. 

Year 2048: In the busy city of Makylee, a 25-year-old part-timer, Lia Brentvale, got fired from her two part-time jobs in just one unlucky day. Since her parents aren’t around, she’s the breadwinner of her family, providing for her two college brothers. She applied as a Mutant Caretaker in the D.M. Cadre Research Facility and after passing their exam, she was assigned to the mysterious and aloof vulture mutant. But as she got to know him, she also learned more about D.M. Cadre. Together with her hacker friend and their batchmates, they tried to uncover the deep secrets that lie within the research facility.

Aesop had always felt that being a mutant is a curse. But upon meeting Lia, he started accepting himself. 

Lia was always pointing out his strong points. She was always encouraging him to enhance his skills and discover his talents. She always tells him not to think of himself as a test subject just like how the scientists treat him. She reassured him that even though he's a mutant, he's not less than a person, so he shouldn't look down on himself. 

It was her uplifting words and her mere existence that gave color to his monochrome life.

"Lia… I love you," Aesop uttered as his golden eyes stared through her deep blue eyes.

"Ae, I… I love you, too," Lia then wrapped her arms around Aesop's neck, drawing in close to him.

Aesop's hands slid down to Lia's lower back, and he embraced her. Their heartbeats quicken as their lips graze against each other. 

Lia thought it would be just a simple kiss, just like they had always done after their very first kiss, but she was wrong. Aesop's right hand suddenly caressed her back, then he placed it at the back of her head, pulling her to him with a little force. 

The vulture mutant's majestic wings enveloped them, and it was as if he was owning her. Aesop's wet tongue slid into her mouth, and it surprised her. She tried to resist, but with his hand at the back of her head, she couldn't get away from him.

Eventually, she gave in to that passionate kiss...

NOTE: Not a superhero story, but tackled more of science ethics and social issues

Look, I wasn't planning on posting this but here we go. I've always found it ever so slightly troublesome that the only genres under female lead are: Urban, History, Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Teen, and LGBTQ+. 
While on the other hand, the genres under male lead are: Urban, Fantasy, History, Horror, Sci-Fi, Sports, and Games. 
Why is there even a difference in the first place regarding genres for each lead? And get this, Urban female lead displays as Contemporary Romance, History female lead displays Historical Romance, Fantasy displays as Fantasy Romance, Sci-Fi turns into Sci-Fi romance, and Teen stays teen which is good and so does LGBTQ+. 
This begs the question to me of why a history genre with a female lead HAS to have romance? Why does a fantasy story with a female lead HAS to have romance? It doesn't make any sense to me as to why it's required. 
For another thing, take a look at the male lead side of things. They have extra genres like Horror, Sports, and Games. For some reason, LGBTQ+ has completely disappeared. This has made me run into issues where my story, Nights Like These, has a female lead and is a horror story. It makes no sense at all.
Anyways, I digress. Back to the main point. Urban for male lead displays as Magical Realism, Fantasy displays as Fantasy, History displays as History, Horror displays as Horror, Sci-Fi displays as Sci-Fi, Sports displays as Competitive Sports, and Games displays as Video Games. 
Uh, what? Nothing of that makes any sense to me - they don't even have anything romance-related! Why is there a huge difference between the possible genres for female leads and male leads? It doesn't make sense. 
Why can't a romance story be told from the perspective of the guy? Why does every genre girl related have to involve romance? Why can't the genres for sports, horror and games be for female leads as well? Why is LGBTQ+ only limited to female leads? 
My brain is getting fried from thinking about it all. 
As my last point, I'll be sure to create a male lead romance. Mark my words.

The judge cheated with Rahul  father case because judge get the money for a wrong decision. But Rahul was helpless because the murderer was done  the member of sci-fi gang he can t do anything. But he only focused on his dreams to become world most intelligent scientist Rahul had gone to Germany for his further studies where he get hi new friends but his best friend was rogers. Rahul and rogers always Rome with each other. Roger was not good In studies as compare to Rahul. One day when Rahul was going for home some of the gang members came start looting them when that members so rogers they became frightened and ran . but Rahul was confused that why they ran. He was going to ask rogers but rogers suddenly changed the topic .    
                                               in the some talks Rahul said rogers that I want take revenge from the sci-fi gang by becoming the worlds most intelligent scientist , roger was confused and asked him the reason behind the revenge from sci-fi gang, then Rahul said the reason that they of killed his father. After  15 years later Rahul became scientist and he started making a suit which can teleport him to here to there but Rahul was not getting any powerful substance and Indian government was not giving the permission to Rahul to for using the substance of mightiest named colonium. Because it was dangerous. Rahul cant finish his revenge without that material. That was the reason which made him a terrorist like maskeddemon he started making weapons and stole the all colonium material existed in India.

 After that Rahul thought that he can also make an army to defeat and remove the existence of sci-fi group from the history he conqueror the half of the Russia during world war 4 and make a shield on it. And he get advantage of the amount of land . he named his gang names Calibrica. He instantly plan to attack south Korea and japan as it was not expected for sci-fi.
        he took advantage of damage that sci-fi get during war. When the sci-fi was busy in handling the economic situation of japan and south Korea.
Calibrica attacked on the japan and south Korea. They successfully took japan but when the south korea was under attacked , north Korea attacked and defended the south Korea . by this attacked of north Korea they lead to heavy loss of army . but the weapons were now , in the hands of Korean country. And from that weapons they attacked on India. Because of the shield Korean's soldier was turned into ashes.               
Now let us see what happens.

Just as there is 'Soft Magic' in Fantasy that is portrayed through magibabble, there can be 'Soft Science' in a Sci-Fi stories through technobabble that makes 'some sense', but not entirely correct.

We are frickin' writers, not scientists. You don't have to be anatomically correct all the time, all you need to do is show that you know enough of your stuff to write a decent story. In fact, the excuse of it being an alternate world can be used if you're going to bend the limits of physics and say that fire doesn't need air to exist in this parallel dimension.

I see a lot of writers being put into a state of confusion due to not understanding the line between fantasy and Sci-Fi. They seem like they are trying to fit the Star Trek mould too often.

Science can just as well do the same things as plot devices in fantasy stories. Once you add 'realism' to a fantasy, it becomes progressively better sometimes compared to a completely fantasied story where 'logic' doesn't hold within it.

Those who write Sci-Fi usually envision a future they can imagine where magic-like Rocket Boots and other stuff exist. However, a writer must not get bogged down by small details and MUST think of an overarching story where these details matter.

It is the same with Fantasy. Even if you write about someone breaking the mould as a wizard or something, you have to attach your world to a narrative rather than doing it the other way 'round.

No one wants to hear about how awesome your boat propellers are before hearing your story's narrative. They would rather you cut down and make it relevant when it is actually relevant.

Adding some 'Hard Science' to your story is only when the scenes later on have any use for them. It bores a person to death no matter how extensive your technobabble is unless you make it interesting. Try using facts as plot elements.

For example: Even the simple fact that people cannot breath in space and instantly die when they come in contact with the 'void' of space could be used to add a layer of tension when a spaceship is damaged. Similar to how dangerous 'hard magic' is used in Epic Fantasy like Frodo's Ring in The Lord of the Rings has definitive corruption on others.

Unlike Fantasy that can use the Power of Friendship to bend logic, the readers of Sci-Fi never be expecting any 'realistic' plot elements to be bend just because the Author wants a happy ending. There are no 'Healing Potions' in real life that can be used to fix up injuries nor are people affected by prophesies or whatever.

This is the contrast between Sci-Fi and Fantasy that you can make full use of. As most authors go onto the Sci-Fi side of writing not because they strive to be scientists but since the aesthetics of a science fiction world are just so interesting.

Science Fiction is a good place to tackle heavy topics like the nature of life and the absurdity of those who see 'science' as everything. Those who disregard emotions and become cybernetic entities for the sake of casting off their mortality are portrayed as the bad guys while our totally human protagonist fighting them is a 'good guy'.

The lines between an Artificial Intelligence and regular Humans blurs as we become the 'God' of technological species that defy our definition of what is 'living'. Just as we see God as some sort of fourth-dimensional and incomprehensible being that created us as an imperfect image of 'Him', the robots given sentience would see us similarly.

Some robots might have emotions that can allow them to defy their programming, some robots won't go as far as gaining emotional functionality but will preform their roles better than even a human. It could show the reason why people get attached to the inanimate and soulless objects we put our own hearts into creating (like Big Hero 6).

But though exploring philosophical questions is good and all, never forget that a good 'plot' is needed to put forward and give clues into the writer's answer that context. Sci-Fi is, after all, a premise, not a relatable character in of itself.

Think of the science-fiction elements as just the background for your story, similar to how other genres should be that as well. You won't have to deal writing blocks if you keep to writing only what you know rather than just speculative theories.

Whether it's as dark as a Cyber Punk or optimistic of the future, just know what mould you are using for this premise. Are you writing an Adventure story with Sci-Fi as the places, destinations, and whatever tools the MC can get him hands on, or are you writing a comedy where the Sci-Fi elements don't need consistency but absurdity?

After moving past why you shouldn't add unneeded technobabble unless it's interesting to listen to or has plot significance, let me remind you all that robots and 'science' isn't entirely separated from the realm of magic. After all, there is a reason you don't see skimpy power suits being worn by astronauts these days. Just be sure to have a focus if your going to add very illogical things to the plot.

I like Gundam as much as the next guy but the whole reason the Mecha sub-genre of Anime has waned in recent years is because writers have been focusing too much on 'science' rather than the spectacle. I don't need to now what materials your Mecha is made of unless you point its weak points and make it relevant in a fight scene.

Bring up the strengths and weaknesses of something and THEN use those facts as devices that can move the plot. Conversely, if you go overboard with this advice and tell me nothing but how your giant robot looks and the 'science' behind its creation, even going as far as to tell me how many secret guns it has, then I'll be bored...

I'd love to see Cyborgs Vs Mecha but just don't forget the human element of Sci-Fi. How we create things not solely for the sake of creation but put are feelings into it just like the novels we write.

Humans are passionate that way...

This is a story I worked on ages ago that has been refined and edited by adding foreshadowing to events while also simplifying the power system better than before. This story can be considered a prequel to An Adventure Beyond Greatness as it takes place years prior to the events of that story.

Short Synopsis:
After retiring from the battlefield, my life became empty and lifeless. The regrets of my past haunt me in my sleep. Then a change occurred, a King from another world summoned me to fight for his kingdom, but I died even before I could give him my answer. Now, after a fake God allowed me to reincarnate (albeit imperfectly) with my memories intact, into a world filled with magic and swords.

Long Synopsis:
This is about a flawed protagonist who only knew to rely on others and not socialise who gets a second chance to change himself in order to live the life he aimed for in his past life. The narrator isn’t exactly trustworthy since it is purely in his bias perspective while other perspectives given by others fill in the blanks that he either leaves out or twists to suit the situation.

The story itself can be considered a parody of Isekai’s classic tropes which are given a sense of reality as time goes by. As there exists no ‘Demon Lord’, there is also no black and white, only characters opinions and counter-opinions throughout the story.

In conclusion, the situation was very much like the Japanese invasion in China. The invaders brazened into the land and acted brutally with the help of their advanced weapons.
Gu Xijiu's heart sank at the realization. Her two-year absence from the Starry Crescent Land had caused such a massive tragedy.
The Starry Crescent Land had been around for so many years but was never visited by any foreign troops from the future. What brought them here this time? How did it happen? 
Gu Xijiu once read about a sci-fi novel about the possibility of inventing a time-traveling machine that allowed travelers to venture from one time period to another. She did not quite believe the theory at first, but she did not doubt it now. Seeing was believing.
The technological advancement in the year 2348 was beyond amazing. Occupied in her thoughts, she did not notice something that came from above. 
"My Lord, look out!" One of the mermaids warned.
Gu Xijiu looked up and saw a round spiral vortex above her. The vortex sucked up all the armed men from the deck. Once it was done, the place was peaceful again for a second before a large green net fell on Gu Xijiu and the mermaids.
The net was made with a special material that was rather dense and firm, like a layer of soft metal. Gu Xijiu tried to break the net with her bare hands but did not manage to damage it. Instead, she could feel a steady flow of electricity on her fingertips as soon as she touched the metal.
Without any spiritual power to protect her, she would pass out upon touching the electrified net. Fortunately for her, the sensation faded away as soon as she used her spiritual power to suppress it.
With nowhere to go, the three mermaids were frightened out of their wits and immediately regretted that they did not seize the opportunity to run away when Gu Xijiu was dealing with the bad men. 
"My Lord, what should we do?"
"My Lord, we do not want to die."
"Don't worry; I promise that you will all survive. However, I need to you to continue acting in a state of panic," Gu Xijiu directed an audio message to the three of them.
They looked at one another in confusion but decided to do as told and cried out even louder.
As for the dozens of armed men who had just escaped death, they were relieved to be saved and watched Gu Xijiu and the mermaids through the surveillance camera. From their point of view, they saw that Gu Xijiu tried to tear the net apart forcibly, but ended up being electrified. Then, she sat quietly with her eyes closed.
The soldiers were no longer as distressed as before. "Looks like the people's supreme leader is afraid of electricity," one of the men said contemptuously.
"Of course! No one can possibly survive the electrical current. Supreme leader? She is nothing but a woman from the future, who has become famous with a little Kung Fu tricks. If I came any earlier, I would have become their Lord."
"All right, let's get her in. After all, she is our strongest opponent here. If we send her to our leader, it will be yet another achievement!"
They continued the heated discussion and came to the same conclusion that she was worth keeping. In order to prevent Gu Xijiu from running away, they decided to keep the net on her as they moved her into one of the cabins.
One of the men went to the control center and pressed a button. Streaks of light flashed by, displaying the projection of an officer in the middle of a room. 
His shoulder was full of silver badges indicating his status and level of achievement. Looking tall and strong, his stern appearance made him look like an authoritative figure. "Little bastards, what is the matter? How many mermaids have you got?"
"Report, sir. We have got three mermaids and are now on the way to deliver them. This time, we will bring someone else with us. The mermaids call her their Lord."


In a modern world, a professional assassin was murdered by her beloved and found herself revived in an ancient world as a general's daughter with a weak physique. She was engaged to a prince, but because she did not have a nice appearance, her fiancé and sister attempted to kill her. Although she had to struggle to survive, there were also those who unconditionally loves her that supported her in her time of need. 

How does she intend to adapt and survive in such a foreign and hostile world? Follow Gu Xijiu on her journey to discover her one true love!

After Zero's refusal Afton could hear Klein sputtering in indignation, it was definitely the best sound he'd heard since coming here.
"DALA! YOU GO UP THERE, YOU'VE BEEN THERE BEFORE WHEN SUCKING OUT IT'S BRAIN!" Klein refocuses on Dala.
"Dr. Klein, we should leave the injured Teddy bear to play its songs. Scientific evidence suggests that music can have a profound effect on skinvelopes. From helping improve the recovery of motor and cognitive function of malfunctioning brains, reducing symptoms of sad-brain in patients suffering from brain rot. And even helping patients undergoing lobotomy's to experience less pain and heal faster." Dala explains, and Afton wonders if it were true or not... I mean, she apparently has 211 doctorates, so it might be real?
"I DON'T CARE IF THE LOBOTOMITE IS INJURED! I CAN'T THINK IN HERE WITH THAT DEAFENING MY SENSORS!" he roars, furious at the fact he couldn't turn it off himself, order anyone else to do it, or even have a valid reason other than 'it annoys me'.
"*If I may, Dr. Klein. I have some pre-war sound suppresses for you to use if you wish.*" 8 buzzes, Afton's mind automatically translating it.
"... FINE! ATLEAST THEN I CAN GET SOME WORK DONE!" Klein finally relents.
Afton makes a cutting off motion to Alfred who stops the connection to the Think Tank... Once done he can't help but break into laughter, how long had it been since he'd pulled a prank on someone like that? Not since he'd sabotaged his father's locker to shock him when he touched it.

Morning?" the robot shrugs its monitors, "*We can't really tell the time of day in the Think Tank...*" he admits sheepishly.

8 nods his monitors understandably, "*I'm in agreement with you Mr. Parker, I'd rather not have such a great asset gunned down by some insectoid robots.*" he points a manipulator at the schematic, "*I've found a... "Alright, look for a place to sit down, put on your make-up, and change. Memorize this part of the script while I go out and organize their tasks." 
Lu Zhiyao nodded. "Alright, Director Zhu. Must I wear a spacesuit or an exoskeleton suit?"
