After the school was over Gu Shen wanted to follow Tian Tian to check and find out little more about the reason he felt such a strong energy.
Unfortunately before he could do so he was called in the principal's office for discussion.
Knocking the office door Gu Shen entered when he received the permission and sat down on the chair after been allowed to do so by the principal.
Passing Gu Shen a list of some student's the principal spoke, "Whenever a new student transfers from another school to our school he has to take some extra classes so we can access his study level. Considering your marks from the last school I tried to ask everyone consider you as a  special case and most of them agreed as well. But there needs to be something done by you to get those lost credits.
All of the teacher's have collectively decided for you to help any of your fellow or junior student in studies and depending on the student's performance we will give you credit's.
The list that I just passed onto you has names of your fellow as well as your junior's who you can choose to help. Considering that you have just shifted over here and might have problems in adjusting  we will allow you to choose only one student instead of three student's which are generally mandatory."
Though Gu Shen has not thought that he will have to tutor someone but knowing the reputation of the school he was well aware that this was the most that they could do. There was no problem in him taking the extra subjects which every transfer student has to take after getting transferred into this school, which was the second ranked school in China, but if he did so it would reduce his time which he could possibly spent  on his responsibilities.
Smiling he thanked the principal for his efforts and started reading the names in the list. Just when he was reading the list he noticed a pretty familiar name in the list. It was Tian Tian. The girl who felt weird, the one who had a strong energy in her, his deskmate.
Pointing towards Tian Tian's name in the list Gu Shen handed the list to principal while saying, "I would like to tutor the student named Tian Tian. She is my fellow classmate and I think it will be easy to teach the subjects that I learn rather than teaching the subjects that I have already learned."
Taking the list from Gu Shen the principal started typing something in the computer while he praised Gu Shen on his choice saying, "You are indeed lucky to choose her. She had been a bright student but her grades had suddenly started reducing making her fall down to barely passable student. I personally feel she has alot of space for improvement."
Printing out something from the printer principal handed it to Gu Shen while saying, "This is the details of the student, including her parent's contact information. Along with that I have also attached the marks of the student's from the time she had started schooling. She was a consistent topper and had a lot of participation in other activities earlier, but no one knew what happened that she enclosed herself in a shell."

Apartment 5- Li Xiuying's bedroom

Li Xiuying put her phone on her bedside cabinet; she turned her attention back to the report and started reading.

The man who Li Xiuying referred to as Dragon tattoo was creatively nick-named Dragon, legal name Deng Bojing.  The report went as far as detailing Deng Bojing's childhood. 

Deng Bojing had been an aggressive and violent child, when he was just 9 years old he had stabbed a fork into another child's hand. 

His father worked in construction and his mother was an elementary school teacher.  After the stabbing incident they had forced Deng Bojing to see various therapists, counselors and even psychiatrists. They also signed him up for anger management programs. 

Nothing made a difference; Deng Bojing's behavior became more violent and he started engaging in petty crimes. In order to try and reform him, his parents sent him away to a Boarding school for troubled teens when he was 13 years old.

He stayed at the boarding school for 3 years. When he was 16 the school had stated that Deng Bojing was fully reformed and that he was ready to become an active and contributing member of society.

2 months after his return to the family home, his parents had been murdered in an attempted burglary.  They had been strangled, decapitated and had their bodies mutilated. 

Deng Bojing was cleared of murder charges; his alibi was that he was staying with a friend for the last several days. His friend and the friend's family corroborated the story. 

Deng Bojing then went to live with his grandmother just on the outskirts of the city. 6 Months later, a neighbor found Deng Bojing's grandmother's dead body in an arm chair in the living room. The coroner ruled it as a death by natural causes. 

Li Xiuying frowned at the document in her hand; the more she read the more disgusted she felt. How could someone be so evil from such a young age? There was no doubt in Li Xiuying's mind that Deng Bojing had murdered both his parents and his grandmother. 

Li Xiuying continued reading. 

At the Age of 18 Den Bojing joined the Phantoms. Den Bojing had been conveniently walking down the alley where Phantom the Overlord of the west side had been ambushed by a group of armed men. Deng Bojing had taken a bullet for Phantom. Phantom in return allowed Den Bojing to join his syndicate. 

Deng Bojing rapidly rose up the ranks. He was known for being cut throat and cruel. He didn't even blink when taking a life. He raped, stole, abducted, killed, tortured, you name it he had done it there was no end to the list of his crimes. 

In 2007 he was banished from the Phantoms and there were multiple rumors circulating as to the reason why. "The most widely believed was that Deng Bojing raped and killed a junior member's girlfriend and made him watch." Li Xiuying read the last sentence out loud.

No one truly knows why Deng Bojing was banished but it was a fact that Phantom had beaten Deng Bojing to within an inch of his life. 

When Deng Bojing was banished, four others followed him and left the Phantoms. Deng Bojing became the leader of the pentad; which he aptly named The Soulless.

Li Xiuying's frown deepend as she read the next few sentences. 

Deng Bojing made connection with various members from the upper echelons of society; from politicians to the heir's of conglomerates. The Soulless became thugs for hire; but they weren't cheap their fee's started from a minimum of $100 k and went up into millions. 

Li Xiuying was curious about how Deng Bojing was able to make connections with such prominent people. 

Li Xiuying skim read the next page about Deng Bojing; it contained more details about his individual criminal activity.  

Li Xiuying had a quick flick through the next pages. The next 15 pages detailed various people who had hired The Soulless and the 'jobs' they had wanted completed, along with the price. 

Li Xiuying started looking through the list starting at page 1, she quirked her brow when she saw Chen Wei's name on page two next to his name was written 'cripple research partner' 200 k.

She continued skimming and came across Li Mei Wu's name on page four, next to her name was written 'Humiliate the Lu family's daughter' 450 k. 

Li Xiuying wanted to know what her 'aunt' had paid The Soulless to do. 

The list contained a myriad of jobs like "**** and torture step-sister", "destroy the shop", "steal deed to the house" etc. There were even minor jobs like 'Wu Shing - escort to school. 100 k'

Li Xiuying made a mental note to memorize the list. 

Li Xiuying put the pages about Deng Bojing and the list of 'jobs' back in the the A4 Envelope. 

She looked back at the report, there was a head shot of face scar. Li Xiuying put the report to the side and got out of bed.  She needed a break. 

Li Xiuying stood up and then stretched, she picked up her phone and walked to the kitchen.  She put the kettle on and took a mug out of a kitchen cupboard.

Li Xiuying looked at her phone, Ren Daiyu still hadn't replied to her earlier message. 

Li Xiuying sent another message: "Daiyu, Everything okay?"

She received an instantaneously reply. 

Ren Daiyu's message: "YingYing, I'm so sorry for my late response. I'm fine, I arrived home safely. I'm just in the middle of discussing the blind date with my dad. He just doesn't seem to want to listen to reason and logic, he insists I attend the stupid date even after seeing the message! I definitely wouldn't hire him to be my lawyer."

Li Xiuying smirked and wrote back: "Hire him he's currently winning."

Ren Daiyu's message: "Who's side are you on?!"

Li Xiuying was in the middle of typing up her response when Ren Daiyu sent another message: "YingYing I'll fill you in on the situation later.  I'm going to go and try to persuade my mum and uncle to help."

Li Xiuying made herself a cup of lavender tea and returned back to her bedroom to continue reading the report.

In the past, Luo City international school had erected a building specifically for foreign teachers. It was known as the Music building and every class had an allocated time to attend lessons by them.
But due to the high costs of hiring those foreign teachers and how their lessons were not exactly very popular among the students, the program was eventually stopped and the building had been empty since. 
Lu Shu figured that the Daoyuan class was going to be held in this building.
Regardless of how the world would view this in the future, every student in Luo City international school was waiting in anticipation for their class representatives to announce the list for Daoyuan class.
Everyone had guessed that the officials must have identified the potential metahumans through the blood test and the list was about to be revealed.
This time, it was not about grades, appearances or family backgrounds. Anyone could be on this list.
This was like putting everyone at the same starting line again. No matter which official or which company's CEO your dad was, god was going to be fair when it came to this, right?

Shi Qingyan looked at the students, "The city had decided to set up a Daoyuan class in our school and these unique students will go through a series of lessons to cultivate their talents. And this person next to me will be the teacher in charge of the Daoyuan class."
The students looked at one another in awe. If that man was the Daoyuan class in charge, then did that mean that he was a metahuman?!
Shi Qingyan proceeded to take out the papers, " I will be reading out the list now. Those names that have been called please wait outside the staff room as your teacher in charge have something to speak to you about. She sat at Mrs. Zhu's desk and flipped through the file. She scanned through the names and the pictures. Within ten minutes, she finished looking through the file and had remembered all the names of the 60 students.
As expected of a hundred-year-old school. Class One was filled with elite students.
However, some students' didn't have extremely good results. This was reasonable. The school couldn't let all the good students in the second year of senior high be in one class. Class One just had better results overall.
After Mrs. Tong finished all her matters, she looked up and saw Ye Jian reading through the math textbook.
She looked at the file that was in its original spot. She looked at the quiet student who was looking at the math textbook and smiled. "Why are you looking at the textbook? Have you seen the students' list? There are photos inside. You can get to know your classmates first."
She thought that Ye Jian didn't look at the list.
"I've finished looking at the list. You were busy with work so I didn't want to interrupt you. I took Mrs. Zhu's textbook to take a look." Ye Ying closed the textbook in her hand. She didn't tell Mrs. Tong about her relationship with Ye Ying.

(So first off what i'm writing is a thank you but there will be a chapter soon, additionally if you don't want to read the thank you, there's a list of improvements right below it. anyways here ya go)

All I can say is thank you for getting me a rating, for everyone that left a review I really appreciate it, i'm going to do a lot more chapters (hopefully hehe) and write better. apologies for not uploading any chapters in quite a while, i'm a bit pressed with school work so the current stability with updates is a little off, but please do expect that within a week ill hopefully be updating daily, and maybe even more! Additionally, my ink stone was a little bit messed up so I couldn't write anyways, but its all fixed now and i'm pretty sure everything is up and running. Anyways, here is a list of improvements I wanna do on the story!


LIST OF IMPROVEMENTS:

- Improve the all around writing quality

- Describe the landscapes and beasts better i.e: in the forest

- Explain his cultivation more (whoopsies)

- Make breakthroughs more detailed and describe the flow of heavens and earth

- GIVE PEOPLE NAMES (this is very important, so uh... yeah, fixing that fast, which is also why I made him blow all his money)

- Make money more reasonable (he got too rich too fast)

- Writing his progress at the end of a chapter (if you've read the manga "back from the immortal world", which is also a light novel here, it explains his progress at the end of the chapter, so imma do that too)

- Improve his character (so he wont be so clueless, in a kind of sorts)

- To not say 'as' too much (I usually go, "it was a hard battle, as he was a grand total of two realms below the beast." which is just annoying as you keep reading, so imma start using due to, since, caused by, etc.)

- Strengthen his bases (I need to make it so that he has the ultimate base, although it wont be too crazy, kind of like Qin nan, from peerless battle spirit, when he starts forming cores, or his martial soul

- Finally, To make better endings or keep it the same (all i've been doing is cliff hanging you guys, so i'm open to ending suggestions, or should I just keep it the same?)

Additionally, a quick question:
Do you want me to continue doing update chapters? or are they annoying?

Also, I just want to say that there ARE martial skills, or martial techniques (which do you prefer?) and that they are accessible to those who are in the qi cultivation realm, since its 'solidified' into a visual state.

Minutes later, Rose arrives with a cup of tea with some biscuits and cookies. 
"Mrs. Gray, Miss Maddie is already informed of your arrival. However, the meeting is still on the final agenda. I hope it's okay with you." Rose informs Yve as she serves the tea and snacks.
"I understand. Rose, does Mom usually eat dinner in the office, too?" 
"After the incident, she does. " 
"I see. Please prepare to order some food for dinner good for four. I'll just give the 'go' signal on when you will place the order." 
"I understand that, Mrs. Gray."
Meanwhile, Vince is checking the updates on Stones Group. So far, with the change in management, positive effects are showing in.
'Still, it's not enough.' Vince thought after reading the reports.
"Edward, come in." 
"What's your next plan for Stones, Bro?" 
"I'm checking the suppliers for local brands of the malls. I believe some of them are included in the under the table transactions."
"I see. Keep me updated."
"By the way, are you not joining Yve and Aunt Maddie tonight?" 
"I don't think so. I need to finish reading these reports. By the way don't forget to release the online bait I told you earlier."
"Of course! I already collected the details now all I need to do is wait for the time." Edward assures his cousin and leaves Vince to continue reading other files from Stones Enterprises.
Maddie finally finishes her meetings and rushes back to her office to find Yve reviewing some papers.
"Sorry to keep you waiting, my Dear." Maddie greets Yve.
"It's fine, Mom. I was also late in booking an appointment. Plus, while waiting I get the chance to review my lecture notes for school."
"By the way, congratulations for the successful stream yesterday. It's the talk of the town up until now. Many people are waiting for the next step. "
"Thanks, Mom! But the success is not only mine but the entire company – from the stars to the people behind the camera. It was a team effort, Mom!" 
"That's a good thinking. Keep your feet always on the ground, Yve."
"I will, Mom. By the way, I came here regarding the room/ office renovation." 
"I don't have much idea on the renovation." Maddie admitted.
"I asked Sylvan to look for the top interior designing companies and I was able to narrow down the list to my top 9. As it will be your home and office, I want to ask for your opinion as well." Yve admits and gives Maddie the list. 
Yve keeps quiet as Maddie scans through the list and admires the recent projects. 
"These are all beautiful. Their recent projects are enough to show they're really the best in their field." Maddie responded.
"I really can't choose, my Dear." 
"We can announce bidding for this. Let them showcase their designs and before we choose." 
"That would be nice."
"I have some criteria written. I want to include functionality and minimalist. Further, the rooms should make the user calm. The offices should continue to showcase creativity to manifest the location." Yve explains which leaves Maddie in awe.
"Do you have anything to add?" 
"I'm okay with it. I agree with your thoughts." 
"Thank goodness. " Yve replies and nods her head to Rose as a sign to order food for dinner.
"What was that for?" 
"I asked Rose to order food for us. I will eat dinner with your tonight. I hope it's fine."
"Dear, I would love to." 
Yve calls Sylvan inside and informs the man on what she and Maddie had decided. Sylvan just bows and leaves them behind as he calls the contact numbers of the companies in the list. Once the two ladies are left alone once more, Yve remembers she still has a score to settle with her mother-in-law.
"Mom, I want to ask you a question."
"Anything, my dear." 
"Why did you change your mind regarding the temporary accommodation?" 
Maddie looks at her and releases a deep breath before replying,
"Yve, you and my son are newly-weds. I don't want to interrupt your time for each other."
"There's nothing to interrupt, Mom." Yve tries to convince Maddie once more.
"My dear, both of you are busy people and the comfort of your home is the only place where you can be yourselves without worrying on other things."
"…" Yve has nothing to reply because her mother is somehow right.
"If you're thinking about our safety, it's fine. I'll be staying in one of the hotels owned by Vince. You can check me anytime." 
"Mom….." 
Maddie stands up and hugs her worried daughter.
"Thank you for caring so much."
"Okay, I guess I have no other choice. But let me "Mom, let me accompany you in going to the hotel tonight, instead." Yve really insists.
"Do I still have a choice? I'm really lucky to have a very good and caring daughter-in-law. But I would do everything so that the heavens will grant me my very own grandchild the soonest." Maddie whispers to her causing Yve's ears to turn red.
"Mom, I don't think it's the right time to have a child at the moment."
"You don't want to have a child?" 
"I do. It's just with school and work, it will not be a good time. When I become a mother, I want to be there for him or her every step of the way." Yve hugs her mother as an apology.
Yve understands how much her mother-in-law wants a grandchild. Vince is the only child after all. Aside from the secret that she hasn't done it with Vince yet, she's really sincere with her reason for not having a child at the moment. 
'I'm really sorry, Mom.' Yve apologizes within her thoughts.
Rose finds Maddie and Yve hugging each other as she brings in the food. 
"Mrs. Gray, I didn't find your secretary around." Rose informs her.
"Owh." Yve looks at her watch and notices the time. 
'Chrysthe will be here soon.'
"Well, it's time for him to go home. Don't worry; my driver will come to pick me up. " Yve replies to Rose as there's no need to explain to Maddie.
"What do you have there?" Maddie stands up and helps Rose as the former tries to change the subject.
"I ordered from your favorite Chinese restaurant." Rose opens the packages.
"Let me get the plates for us." Maddie offers.
Soon after, the three ladies find themselves eating dinner. Minutes after their meal, Chrysthe arrives at the main office. This marks the time for them to move to the hotel. Rose and Maddie prepare their things as Yve helps them do so. 
The trip to the hotel was uneventful. The room Vince booked for Rose and his mom is an executive suite with a balcony. It has two rooms – one has a king size bed while the other room has a queen sized one. The room has a Chinese ambience inside with the dragons and phoenix designs embedded in the furniture. Yve helps Rose and Maddie settle down in the room before leaving it.
"I better go home, Mom. Vince is probably waiting for me." 
Yve arrives home and hugs her husband who's waiting for her.
"I'm sorry I'm late in going home again." Yve apologizes.
"It's fine. So how was your meeting with Mom?" Vince asks as the couple heads inside their house.
Vince and Yve go to bed comfortably, with Yve still unaware of what is happening on social media. Little does she know that something big is happening and that her husband has something to do about it.


Today is another busy day for me. Work and home are the only places I go to for the past 3 years. The end of THAT relationship ended my happy, easy-going life. But then, when I think about it, it was not his fault but mine. My friends would tell me that I need to move on. I HAVE MOVED ON. It's just I don't want any side trips anymore in my life. I have my dreams and I am working hard for it. Little did I know what the destiny has installed for me.

"Mom, I still love her. She ended the relationship without any valid reason and I didn't agree."

"But son, what if the reason is that she doesn't love you anymore? Isn't that a reason valid enough for you?"

"I have to know it this time, mom. I did try to go out on dates but still failed. I think meeting her again will help me know what is happening with me."

"I guess I have no other choice. But remember, don't let her disrupt your plans and the family's business."

"I know, mom. Steph, book my flight to the Philippines tomorrow."

"Vincent! Why are you in so much rush?!"

"Because I believe that the early bird gets the worm."



Just wait for me, Yve. I will get you back by hook or by crook.

After school Henry went home with the book in other to read his contents. He opened the first page, what was written was "Chapter One: Meeting the list.  
"What list? "Henry said to himself. 
The book said "we all have something like a "list" in our head on specific things we want our partner to have, changing the way you look you might give you an advantage with the  girl". 
Henry took a mirror to look at himself, he saw a skinny, nerdy looking guy with glasses and no muscle mass. 
"Am totally screwed how is Rosie going to like me am not even sure I met any of her attributes in the list of what she wants in a guy". 
He continue reading, the book said "... Normally females look for strong, handsome, charming, rich guys but you have to note that not every girl is the same, they all have different tastes in guys so don't count yourself out just because you don't have any of the mentioned qualities..... "
Henry sat down and thought to himself., 
"Hmm, this is so weird, why can't girls just like a guy because of his personality not only his looks, I know not all girls are like this but they are few and they usually don't like to express themselves, I have to talk to Rosie so I'll see if I have a chance". 

..... 

After the teacher dismissed the class there was an announcement that was pinned on the notice board. 
ALL STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO HAVE A NEW LAB PARTNER FOR BIOLOGY, EACH TEAM SHOULD BE MADE UP OF ONE BOY AND A GIRL. 
"What the fuck, why should we change lab partners and why must it be a girl", Chris said angrily. 
"I don't know but this is my chance to talk to Rosie without giving her the impression that I like her"
"That's good for you but what about me, I don't want to be paired with a girl, they'll spoil my groove"
"It looks like you have no choice, just talk to one of them and get a partner before the class."
"*Sigh* this is gonna be a pain"

After school Henry went to look for Rosie so he could ask her to be his lab partner but he couldn't find her, He felt so depressed he decided to go home, on his way home he saw Rosie and she was having some trouble telling a guy to leave her alone.
Henry felt a surge of adrenaline and saw a chance to be a hero but before he could go he was thinking about his chances. 
"This guy could easily beat me up, so getting into a hand to hand battle might end badly for me, but if I use a weapon it might increase my chances" Henry thought to himself as he picked up a stick and silently approached the man. 
"Swoosh!"
Henry's stick made impact with the man's  head but wasn't enough to knock him out. 
"Shit" said Henry. 
The man took an angry glance to Henry and as he was about to go towards him. 
"Bang" 
Rosie had hit the man with a stick and this time he went down hard.
Henry had never been more terrified in his life. 
"How could someone so delicate looking stature create such a force to knock out a man! "Henry thought while he was going to help Rosie up after she hit the man. 
"We should get out of here before he wakes up",  Henry said. 
"Umm.. Alright" Rosie said with a pale look on her face.
