I am Elle, and this is my story on how fate painted words on the empty pages in the story of my life.

Ang sabi nila, kapag may 1000 paper cranes ka, magkakatotoo ang wish mo. Janrick made a 1000 paper cranes and put them on a huge box wrapped in a blue and silver paper, gave it to Jullian on the 14th day of Valentines when they were still in their old school. And on his 1000th paper crane, a wish was written.

Because Bai Xiaochun was mostly out of sight inside the paper ball, and also because Zhou Yixing had to focus on moving ahead, he didn't see what had just happened. He was excited, only occasionally looking back to see how much the paper ball had shrunk.
By this point, the ball had already shrunk from its previous size of 30 meters down to about half of that.
In addition, Bai Xiaochun was slowing down, as if he were about to succumb to exhaustion. Zhou Yixing could even hear him let out a howl of seeming despair.
"Your comeuppance is at hand, Bai Xiaochun!" Feeling almost completely free from care or worry, Zhou Yixing laughed loudly and pondered how all of this had been carefully planned out and executed by none other than himself.
"When I want someone dead, that person wouldn't dare to try and stay alive!" Laughing, he looked back at Bai Xiaochun slowing down, the paper ball having shrunk down to roughly 9 meters. By this point, Zhou Yixing was confident enough to stop in place to watch Bai Xiaochun be reduced to a desiccated corpse.
"Zhou Yixing!" Inside the paper ball, Bai Xiaochun was looking quite flustered. No matter how he yelled out in anger, his speed continued to drop, until he couldn't even move forward. Of course, his struggles pleased Zhou Yixing to no end, who was now staring fixedly to watch the final result.
"Yell all you want," he said with a chuckle. "Even if you yell your throat out, nobody will come to save you!" Zhou Yixing was pleased as punch at how little effort he was now expending. As for the shield surrounding Bai Xiaochun, it was now so small that it was impossible to catch even a glimpse of him inside of all the paper!
It was a critical moment in which Zhou Yixing nervously watched what was happening, and was even visualizing what would happen next. In his mind, the paper ball would soon break through the shield, and Bai Xiaochun would scream miserably as he was destroyed in body and soul.
Not only could he keep a record of everything that was happening, but he would be able to take Bai Xiaochun's bag of holding in the end. Then he could draw upon the final bit of teleportation power in his star sigil, and go get his reward of a full set of five elements deva beast souls!
Even as he excitedly contemplated that outcome, he saw the paper ball collapse, causing him to crane his neck forward to observe the outcome....
In the exact same moment that the ball collapsed, a huge clump of paper talismans suddenly flew out into the air, a development which occurred so quickly that Zhou Yixing could never have reacted in time. In the blink of an eye, all of the paper talismans landed on the ground right in front of him.
Zhou Yixing's jaw dropped, and before he could do anything, the paper talismans exploded, causing numerous shield layers to spring up around him.
The talismans were defensive in nature, and quickly spread out to surround Zhou Yixing. At the same time, all of the paper people near Bai Xiaochun suddenly turned over to look in Zhou Yixing's direction. Completely ignoring Bai Xiaochun, their eyes lit up with madness as they pounced onto the shields surrounding Zhou Yixing!
All of these things take some time to describe, but from the moment the shield around Bai Xiaochun collapsed until the paper talismans landed in front of Zhou Yixing and the paper people pounced, only two breaths of time had passed.
Zhou Yixing's face fell, and his mind began to spin. Things were turning out exactly the opposite of how he had imagined. Screaming, he tried to back up, but it was too late. The paper people moved so quickly that in the following moment, Zhou Yixing found himself in exactly the same situation Bai Xiaochun had just been in.
"Bai Xiaochun!!" he bellowed in rage, his heart quivering with regret and madness. "Shameless! Completely shameless!! You will not die a good death, Bai Xiaochun!!"
Meanwhile, Bai Xiaochun was fleeing madly. The situation he had just been in was far too dangerous for his liking. Now that Zhou Yixing had replaced him, he forgot about his desire to get his bow and fled without hesitation.
"My poor little life is worth way more than that bow. I guess Zhou Yixing still counts as my lucky star!" When he looked over his shoulder at the shrinking paper ball, he worried that the paper people might still notice him and give chase, so he tried to get as far away as possible.
Meanwhile, Zhou Yixing was inside the paper ball, looking around in sullen fury as the paper people got closer and closer to him. Soon, tears began to leak out of the corners of his eyes.
At the moment, he had no time to ponder how Bai Xiaochun was the bane of his existence. Instead, he reached up and pushed down onto his forehead.
Rumbling sounds then echoed out as starlight filled the area, and the power of teleportation erupted. When the starlight faded away, Zhou Yixing was nowhere to be seen. Within a few moments, the paper people had completely devoured all of the shields, whereupon they scattered and began to search the area. When they found nothing, they drifted off into different random directions.
In a tunnel somewhere else in the labyrinth, starlight glimmered, and Zhou Yixing stepped out, coughing up blood. He did nothing to hold it back, leaning up against the wall as blood spilled out from inside of him. Then he chuckled bitterly.
As for the star sigil on his forehead, it gradually grew dimmer, until finally, it crumbled into ash and blew away....
"My star sigil is gone...." he lamented. As he thought back to everything which had occurred with Bai Xiaochun, he felt more than ever that he was the bane of his existence. More tears began to pour down his cheeks. "I'm not going to try to kill him. I hope... I hope I never see him again for the rest of my life!!!" 
In that moment, Zhou Yixing seemed to age significantly. He had been wounded both physically and mentally, and was even starting to question the purpose of his own life....
In sharp contrast to Zhou Yixing's bitter grief, Bai Xiaochun was in extremely high spirits. He felt like he had just survived a major tribulation, and had finally secured safety for his poor little life.
He wasn't even angry about Zhou Yixing's previous treachery. After all, without Zhou Yixing there, he might not be alive right now.
He had even gone to the lengths of sacrificing himself to save Bai Xiaochun.
"Ah whatever. If we're connected by destiny, Brother Zhou, then you'll probably make it out alive yourself. I hope we have a chance to meet again one day." Relishing the thought of what might happen then, Bai Xiaochun hurried along his way.
However, as he walked through the tunnels, he started getting the feeling that something was off. He suddenly whipped around to check his back, but didn't see anything. Reaching over his shoulder, he fumbled around with his hand, but couldn't feel anything.
Unsure of whether he was just imagining things, he kept going. Eventually, he noticed a Great Wall cultivator approaching from the other direction looking very nervous, as if he had just survived some dangerous ordeal.
When their eyes met, Bai Xiaochun could instantly see that the man was terrified....
A moment later, the cultivator bowed his head and stepped to the side to allow Bai Xiaochun to pass. Bai Xiaochun was thinking of asking the cultivator some questions, but quickly dismissed the idea when he realized the man had a paper person on his back.
Bai Xiaochun immediately sped up, flying past the cultivator. Some distance away, he looked over his shoulder to find the cultivator rushing toward him aggressively. But then, the man suddenly stopped in place and nodded in terror....
Seeing that Bai Xiaochun had noticed him, he shrieked and fled.
Bai Xiaochun was at first taken aback, but then he thought back to when he had seen one of the paper people on someone else's back. That paper person had said sshhh, and he had nodded in response....
The nod of the cultivator just now had seemed very similar, and at that point, Bai Xiaochun's terror began to mount....
"There's no way I have a paper person on my back...." he thought, his mind spinning. Face turning ashen, he looked over his shoulder over and over again until his neck hurt. However, he didn't see anything. Unfortunately, divine sense was suppressed in the labyrinth, making it impossible to use it to scan himself. Even reaching around with his hands didn't reveal anything....
Finally, he decided to pull out his copper mirror, but still couldn't see anything on his back.
He proceeded onward, filled with suspicions. As time went on, his expression turned more and more unsightly, until he was absolutely certain that there was something on his back.
Scared out of his mind, and hair standing on end, he breathed, "There's... there's something on my back!"


With a thought, the land becomes a vast sea. With another thought, it transforms a field of mulberries.

With a thought, a thousand friends are killed. With another thought, ten thousand Immortals are slain.

Only I alone… shall be everlasting.

Xiaobo looked into class nine when he passed by with Lin Yi- he couldn’t see Tang Yin anywhere, and Lin Yi pulled him back a while later. “Okay, that’s enough- we don’t want their teacher seeing your face peeking on them.”
“Ugh……” Xiaobo pulled his head back. “Wonder if Tang Yin’s even came back to her class.”
“You think you have a chance with her?” Lin Yi asked unrelentlessly.
“No!” Xiaobo shook his head instantly, he was very well aware of the distance between them.
“Then what’re you wasting time for, looking for her like that?” Lin Yi slapped the back of Xiaobo’s head. “Go back and study, you’ll be screwed if you don’t get into a college!”
“I’m not thinking about that, okay? I’ve got no chance, but you’re different, boss!” Xiaobo said with a bitter smile. “I was thinking you could be the hero saving a damsel in distress earlier, Tang Yin might even have a thing for you if something like that takes place, but… I never expected a result like that!”
 _Hm?_ Lin Yi paused a bit at Xiaobo’s words as a thought crossed his mind- Tang Yin didn’t think he was trying to win her favor by saving her, did she? Or did the girl think he’d planned the whole thing out with Zou Ruoming? It wouldn’t be a stretch, for sure, and it’d also explain why she’d misunderstand Lin Yi’s intentions. It was very likely that Tang Yin assumed that Lin Yi was after her the same way Ruoming was!
How defensive could a girl get?! A bitter smile formed on Lin Yi’s lips as he contemplated- although, things were indeed starting to get interesting. He’d really throw himself in this sort of school life if he weren’t on a mission, enjoying the subtleties and bonds youths his age should be experiencing.
“Let’s go, class is starting.” Lin Yi reminded as he quickened his steps. The initial school bell was ringing already.
Chu Mengyao and Chen Yushu were back in the classroom long ago, busy mumbling something to each other in their seats. Yushu raised her head for a glance at Lin YI when he entered, before turning back to her mumbling with Mengyao.
Lin Yi was a little surprised to see Zhong Pinliang absent- his seat was empty while Zhang Naipao and Gao Xiaofu’s weren’t.
It didn’t take Xiaobo long before he got the news from someone else- the police showed up earlier, bringing Pinliang away with them.
The development took Lin Yi by surprise, as well. Was it Heibao Bro? Pinliang was pretty unlucky if Heibao refused to take everything on his shoulders, naming Zhong Pinliang as the mastermind instead.
Last period involved more testing and tutoring. The student committee were then tasked with bringing the stack of finished test papers to distribute randomly to the other students; the teacher would then go through the questions as every student marked someone else’s test paper.
It saved time for the teacher- there were tests almost everyday in twelfth grade, nowadays, and this sort of method suited the fast-paced atmosphere well.
Lin Yi’s blinked in surprise as he saw who the student committee member in the class was- Chen Yushu! She started distributing the test papers after the testing was completed, not looking at Lin Yi at all as she placed one of the test papers on his desk. She treated the job quite seriously, it seemed, as can be seen from her face.
Although, Yushu did chuckle evilly as she turned away to continue the distribution.
“Chu Mengyao?” Lin Yi was speechless as he looked at whose test paper he was- there was no way something could be this coincidental. Lin Yi was a hundred percent certain that this Yushu was causing trouble on purpose again.
The boys in class, in actuality, look forward to finally getting Mengyao or Yushu’s test paper one day- it was a piece of paper, yes, but it belonged to the godesses of the school. Some of their aroma and presence more or less remained on it, and it was pretty nice and satisfying to get close to them this way, even if it was only through the test paper.
Unfortunately, the two girls only ever exchanged their test papers with each other- people guessed that Yushu was abusing her power, but no one was as tasteless and free to be exposing her like that.
Yushu had planned to let Lin Yi and Mengyao grade each other’s test papers this time around, creating a coincidence for the two.
Yushu walked back to her seat with two test papers left, placing the two of them on Mengyao’s desk as she grinned. “Yao Yao, which one do you pick?”
“Huh? Don’t we always grade each other’s?” Mengyao looked at Yushu curiously.
“Um… I accidentally gave yours to someone else…” Yushu explained. “So…”
“It’s okay…” Mengyao wasn’t expecting it to be a success every time Yushu did it- it wasn’t a big deal at all for her to screw up once or twice. “It doesn’t matter, anyone’s is fine.”
Mengyao, naturally, didn’t care- it wasn’t her test paper anyway.
“Oh. Here, take this one then!” Yushu said as she pushed Lin Yi’s paper to Mengyao, pulling her own test back.
“Lin Yi?” Mengyao froze upon seeing the name on the test, and seemed to understand something as she turned to Yushu, who acted as if nothing was going on. It was clearly her doing! “Shu!”
“Uh, what’s up?” Yushu raised her head with a smile, as if she had nothing to do with it.
“Let me see your test paper!” Mengyao said, reaching her hand to the test paper Yushu was gripping tightly.
“Hah? It’s just a test paper..?” Yushu started panicking a little- Mengyao was on to her! With that, the grip on the test paper tightened.
“Give it.” Mengyao ordered as she pulled on the test paper; Yushu could only let go before the girl tore the whole thing apart. Mengyao’s eyes widened upon seeing Yushu’s name on it. Yushu was grading her own test paper! “Shu!! Where’s my test paper?”
“Umm…. I gave it to… Shield Guy… to play with…” A dirty thought crossed Yushu’s mind. _Heh. Play with._
“I can’t believe this!” Mengyao didn’t know what to say to Yushu- the girl can’t be serious! She’d gotten used to her antics already, understanding that Yushu wanted nothing than to cause as much trouble as possible, but still!
Mengyao’s eyes turned back to Lin Yi’s paper, glaring at it as she reached for her red pen. Completely disregarding all consequence, Mengyao started spamming X’s on Lin Yi’s answers from start to bottom, throwing a finishing touch at it with a big fat “0” before putting the pen aside. She let a deep breath out after blowing the steam off.

In front of the black iron gate of ancient style, Woods asked the gatekeeper eagerly, "I’m Woods, from Common Arcana, and I am a friend of the headmaster. I’m looking for Mr. Lucien Evans."
"We have two Mr. Lucien Evans here, but neither of them is in the school right now," answered the gatekeeper, an iron golem, in a mechanical manner, "They left for Rentato together."
"Then when did they leave and when they’ll be coming back? I mean… I’m looking for Lucien Evans X, when will he be coming back?" Woods hurriedly explained, "Why they’re headed for Rentato?"
"They left about an hour ago," said the iron golem. "No idea when they’ll be back."
Hearing the gatekeeper’s answer, Woods pressed his black top hat a bit annoyedly, as he knew that Lucien would be already in Rentato by now. As the capital of Holm, Rentato was a big and a very busy city, which meant that his magic could not really help him find Lucien with limited information.
"If Mr. Evans X is back, please tell him that Common Arcana wishes to publish his paper on this month’s issue, and we’re eagerly looking forward to his reply. If he doesn’t mind, we want to invite him to visit our headquarter again." In the cold wind, as Woods was speaking, his breaths produced white gas in the air.
Then, he went back to his coach and left.

Rentato, on the second floor of the restaurant called Oak.
In the vip room, Lucian looked through the window at the beautiful night with countless snowflakes falling down from the sky, and watched the people walking by in the snow. Some of them were in a hurry, some were walking slowly side by side, some were trying to catch some snowflakes, and others bent over to make some snowballs...
Igna, a tall and thin level four arcanist, fifth circle elemental sorcerer, was sitting opposite to him. He had defined facial features and some white hair above both sides of his ears.
If K had not told Lucien first, Lucien would think Igna was fifty something, however, in fact, Igna was well over a hundred years old.
When Igna was seventy, he spent all his savings on some very expensive magic rite and expanded his life. It looked like now he was doing pretty good, despite the fact that he had already been staying at middle-rank stage for sixty years.
"Cheers, for our wonderful dinner." Igna raised his glass, as his light brown eyes first looked at Lucien, and then K.
After finishing his drink, K excused himself and went to the restroom. Apparently, he did not do well with alcohol.
After K left, Igna looked at Lucien and said, "Evans, I’ve read your paper before dinner, and I gotta say that this paper has both advantages and disadvantages, and it’s definitely insightful. Unfortunately, Element this month cannot accept any more papers except those ones from the conference."
Before Lucien opened his mouth, Igna gently shook his glass and added, "However, as K is gonna be Mr. Larry’s student soon, and because Mr. Larry and I are good friends, I have to do something for you, young man. So I’m planning on suggesting to Mr. Rava, the chief-editor of Element, to make this month’s issue a special edition, so we can still accept papers from elsewhere. I’m not sure whether he will listen to me though. Obviously, it’s not easy."
Hearing that, Lucien found his hope again, but he felt that Igna was implying something to him.
As he expected, Igna looked outside of the window and sighed, "Being young is surely nice, especially in an old man’s eyes. Now I have very slight hope in further upgrading myself with coming up with some groundbreaking papers, but some powerful ancient rites might still be able to help me. However, the materials required by these rites are very, very expensive."
Then he stopped but started sipping the wine with a smile on his face.
Lucien understood that he needed to pay for what he was asking for, so he said carefully, "Sometimes getting some arcana points isn’t very difficult, and sometimes we just need some good luck… Say, I earned quite a few points with my last paper."
Igna took a glance at Lucien satisfactorily, "Such a good young man, and I’m falling behind now… I’m still struggling with the last three hundred arcana points to buy Crown Stone."
"I venture to ask…" said Lucien, trying not to feel disgusted with himself, "if you’re willing to accept my points, Mr. Igna? I don’t want to see a great sorcerer be bothered by money and thus not be able to go further."
Lucien knew that publishing his paper on Element could bring him a way better chance than on Common Arcana.
"Then wish both of us success." Igna elegantly raised his glass again and smiled.
K was happy to see that Igna and Lucien had a great conversation when he came back.

Maybe it was because Igna was really doing his job, or maybe it was because Element was already preparing a special edition, when Lucien and K were about to leave the hotel on the next day, Lucien received the letter from Element, informing that his paper had been chosen.
"Thank you, K. Without your help, there’s no way that I could publish my paper." Lucien thanked K sincerely on the platform.
K scratched his hair a bit shyly, "Your paper’s valuable."
He could not make his comment more specifically, as he never read anyone’s paper before it was published.
"Yeah… three hundred points…" Lucien thought to himself, but as long as the paper could be read by other arcanists as soon as possible, Lucien knew it was worth it.
"You’re not coming back with me?" asked Lucien, as he was going back to Douglas to continue his experiments.
K shook his head, and he looked a bit sad, "I’ve already left the school, actually, and before I become Mr. Larry’s student, I need to go back to Granlin to get something done first, my hometown."
Granlin was the most remote one among the eight counties of Holm.
"I see. I bet we’ll see each other again very soon." Lucien nodded, "Do you need any help when you’re back?"
K shook his head, "Nothing big."
"Alright… If you need any help, K, just send me a letter," said Lucien. Seeing the train coming, Lucien waved to him.
Before K got on the train, Lucien said to him vaguely, "When you have the time… you probably want to measure some elements again…"
K was quite confused, but he still nodded before he left.

In the headquarter of Common Arcana.
"What a pity…" murmured Woods regretfully, "Element finally got your paper, uh…"
Right now, Lucien was standing in front of him in the office. Knowing that Mr. Woods had visited the school in person, Lucien came to thank him, "I’m sorry, Mr. Woods. If I had known it, I definitely would not go to Rentato."
He did not mention that he could have also saved three hundred points.
"It’s okay, and if I were you, I would choose Element as well. For your paper, Element is only second to Arcana," said Woods generously. "Although Common Arcana has always been progressing in the past ten years, we’re still not even close to Element in this specific field."
Lucien slightly nodded. In most cases, he would choose Common Arcana because of Mr. Woods’ appreciation towards him, but this time, it was different.
"Hope I can have more opportunities with Common Arcana," said Lucien.
"Welcome." Woods responded politely, "By the way, Evans, I want to publish my paper with regards to the corrected atomic weight of the elements on this issue’s Common Arcana as well, and of course, I’m gonna cite your paper… Do you mind?"
"Of course not." Lucien smiled, "My pleasure."
After going back to the school, Lucien wrote letters to Rock, Jerome and Lazar and told them which elements could be measured wrong.
Lucien was doing this not because he wanted his friends to get some credits, but also hoped them to better support his own paper. That was why Lucien had to make sure that his paper needed to be published first.
...
On friday evening, Lucien came back to his place after several more unsuccessful experiments trying to find new elements from many different ores.
When he opened the door, Lucien saw a letter on the floor.
"Who’s writing to me?" Lucien carefully checked the letter and then opened it curiously.
"Dear Mr. Lucien Evans,
"As a junior-rank sorcerer, your contribution to the field of Element is impressive. Therefore, we would like to invite you to the Annual Conference of Element and Alchemy at Rose Garden, located beside the beautiful Swan Lake, at nine on Saturday morning, January 27th.
"The Will of Elements & Holm Royal Magic Academy"
And the letter was sent three days before.
Lucien was very surprised. He wondered whether his paper had already got the attention of the Will of Elements.


"A falling star has brought the chaos. The throne of fate has lost its master. The nonbeliever who walks in light and darkness will make his debut."
In this magic world, knowledge is power.

It's Monday and we have a flag ceremony again. If it is an ordinary day, I will get myself late. The point is our teacher scolds those late comers including me. So we must be so early today besides its only on Mondays. 
I walk faster. It feel shy not just my name is Shyna duh!. I feel shy because the back of our stage was facing the gate entrance. So whoever enter all the eyes were on he/his. The student council do their jobs, arranging and scolding students that are not in the right line. Specially those grade 7 students. They were not in the right order, even their line was not straight. The rule is the smaller is at the front but why does those higher are at front?. I position myself at the back.

"Shhhhhh"
"What the!"
I nearly yell. There's someone who blow air under my ears. I eyed the culprit and there is no other than the attention seeker.
"You're loud, shhh"
"Why do you even do that? I was caught off guard"

"Students! Keep quite. We're going to start the ceremony".
One of the student said she even eyed me. As if I did something wrong. I was shock, it's not my fault. 
The announcement about the NAT exam was told. We still didn't take Nat exam so it's our turn. NAT National Achievement Test, here they would test if what filed do you excel. Then if the results were out the highest score you've in a certain field will be your guide in choosing your degree in college 
They also announce that Friday was the said test.  I don't like in taking test are those circles. Its tiring to circle every letters specially my name was a two word. Thus answering makes my eyes squint. 
I didn't notice that the students go already to their respective classes. I also go straight at my advisers room. 

Guess what's our first subject?
MATH!
I don't want to sit at the front so again I sat down at the second to the last chair. 
"Exchange you papers at the back"
Our teachers said. I lend my paper at the back not glancing, not minding who was the person going to check my paper. 
 "Shy"
My classmate called me
"hmmm?"
"The paper"
Ah! I Get it she wants me get the paper of the person at my back because she's the one who's gonna check it. 
I turn at the front to look at my back. And I was surprise to see him. He will check my paper. 
"Your paper" I poke him cause he's looking at my paper. "Fix your checking" I reminded him. I'm not good at math yeah. But I'm sure I know something. I lend his paper to the one in front until the checker received. 

"Return the paper to the owner. The one who will say the score is the checker understand?"

"Yes, Ma'am" we said in chorus. 

"Alba"
"SEXY Ma'am" alba joked. He's a gay. He's always like that, he got six that's why he said sexy. 
"Berida"
"10 Ma'am"
"Very good"
The teacher continues to call students to record their scores. And when it's my turn…
"Madrigal"

"It's sexy too Ma'am" 
My checker said. And they start teasing me and him. What a start of the day!
I give look at the back and give him an evil look.

"Mecca"
It's his turn. I wonder what he gets since I remember he said it's just a piece of cake. I will laugh at him if he got a low score compare to mine if that's happen. 
"10 Ma'am"
He proudly said. I just roll my eyes. 

Third Person's Point of View 

Caroline eyed the blonde haired girl sitting at the far end of the room clearly irritated of seeing her pale state. The girl was busy with her book, her brows furrowed together as if she was having a hard argument with the book she's holding. 

"Hey..." Laura's greeting enable her to avert her gaze at the blonde haired girl. 

"Hi Laura, how's you and Arthur?" She asked, her question was not a surprise anymore as the first month of school year did Laura and Arthur became a couple. There were conflicts, but it was resolved with them having a decision to become one.

"We're good. How are things with you and Terrence though?" The good thing about being with Laura to Caroline is that they both can relate with each other's trouble, especially in being a person with an intimate relationship with someone.

"Well, we're in a steady pace for now." Caroline answered.

Soon their conversation died down when their teacher Mr. Prune went in holding a bundle of stapled papers. 

"Class. I hope you are quite prepared for your first examination. I hope none will be caught cheating or will even have the idea of doing so." He casually stated, eyes roaming around the classroom where he can spot a few nervous students and some who seems like they're not a bit bothered about it. "Anyway your exam in my subject Anthropology, will start now. All bags in front." 

Shuffling from the students can be heard as they all skimmed their books for the last time before putting it back to their bags and putting it in front. Many mumbles can be heard and many students try to calm themselves before taking notice of the upcoming papers coming their way that will determine the effects of their studies all this time.

Before answering her paper, Caroline's gaze landed on the person sitting beside her that eventually looked back giving her a bright smile.

"Goodluck to us Caroline." The girl said with a smile before leaning back to a girl sitting behind her to do the same.

"Goodluck to us indeed Cole." Caroline looked down at her paper and sigh in relief. 'Good thing Sir Prune is such a loving teacher.' She thought in gratitude curtly eyeing the teacher before gazing back at her paper.

"Alright, your one hour starts now."

Not long after Sir Prune declared the start of their exams, a deafening silence swallowed the entire classroom, and almost every student has their head down their hand scribbling on their examination papers.

Forty-five minutes have passed and movements can be heard from behind the classroom as Sonia stood up with her paper in hand, approaching the teacher with her back slouching.

"Are you done?" Sir Prune gently asked, careful not to disturb the other students. The girl nod with a smile. "Give me your paper then stay outside. Don't be too noisy okay?"

The girl mumbled a firm "Yes sir." Before grabbing her bag that was on the floor. Before exiting, she found Cole's eyes on her to which she immediately took notice and signed to her of the canteen.

Cole immediately nod going back to her paper and Sonia went out of the classroom with a sigh.

After the end of the first exam, a break was held for the students and  a poblematic grunt escaped Sonia.

"Why this for second subject?" She asked to herself eyeing the piece of paper with the exam schedule.

"General Mathematics." She and Dianne sigh again. "This is the worst!"

Cole watch her circle being swallowed by series of complaints about why Math still exist in Senior years.

"Its not that bad." She encouraged but her encouragement immediately flew out the window when Rianne spoke beside her.

"Its not bad for you since its your forte!"

The bells rang an indication of the starting of the next subject.

And the five of them including Yara instantly went back to their classroom where their General Mathematics teacher, Ms. Joy was waiting for them and asked them to form a line.

"So, this is the purpose of the line?" Caroline questions to herself watching different people sitting beside her. "To avoid cheating she changed the sitting arrangements."

"You can start!" Her teachers voice echoed in the room and immediately she looked down at the paper. All her worries doubling upon seeing the contents of the exam. An exasperated sigh escaped her lips before she started answering her paper. A minutes more have passed and she already give up, picking answers by just randomly landing her pen on which ever match and another minute later she found someone passing by her with a paper on hand and as she look up, the last she saw was Cole and Brianne going out of the classroom to while silently engaged in a conversation. 

'What?! They're done already?!' She thought in surprise, instantly landing her gaze on Sonia a few seats away from her only to see her on the verge of taking a stand to pass her paper. 'I wish I have brains like that.' She thought before glancing back at her paper only to see that she's two more questions away from finishing the exams.

She hurriedly encircled the answers passing the paper the same time with Sonia who smiled at her.

"Good job for your hard work." The girl stated after the two of us were out of the classroom.

"I didn't do it properly." Caroline replied with a laugh.

"You're not the only one here!" She look at her in surprise, wasn't expecting her to not take the exam seriously.

"That's was unexpected." Caroline trailed off surprise hinting her voice. To which Sonia laughed off.

"Its okay Caroline, exams are not the measure of ones intelligence."

And with that, the conversation died down as Sonia vanish from her sight to go to the library where Dianne and the rest of her circle is waiting.

"Babe." Her gaze on the girl avert at her boyfriend that was standing behind her. She smiled pinching the boys cheeks.

"Let's have lunch."

Caroline's Point of View 

Third period for exams started and I am inwardly cheering in delight upon seeing the same person sitting beside her.

"Cole, I didn't study." I said to the girl.

Cole look at her with a sheepish grin. "What a coincidence, I didn't study either."

"Then what are we going to answer?" The two of us looked at the busy Ms. Aimee on the other side of the room before slowly turning our heads to look at Sonia and Dianne that was seated at the back of the room busy on their paper. But then she glance up at us upon feeling our gaze on her.

I Instantly show my empty paper at her causing her to raise a brow.

"Your on test A" She mouthed to my direction.

Upon finding out the message, I immediately sulked, the test was divided into two test to avoid cheating, Test A and test B.

Saying that I'm in test A must instantly meant that she's in test B.

"This is bad." I mumbled to Cole sitting beside me.

"Yep, too bad for comfort." She calmly stated.

"It is indeed bad." A sweet voice in front of us stated, an all too familiar voice causing the two of us to flinch.

Me and Cole looked at our paper with a minus 5 signage the two of us looking at each other before bursting out in a whispered laugh.

Third Person's Point of View

Sonia watched as the two laugh their answers out sighing in the process.

"Ma'am Aimee will literally add more minus to the two later on."

And without a doubt, she was correct. As she watched the two she couldn't help but to rest her hand on her forehead resulting a facepalm.

"This is gonna be a hard examination day for those two."

A true friend is a friend when is convenient and when it is not. They standby you consistently both when you are present and when you are not. They're Authentic and Honest with You. True friends aren't phony with you. They show you who they really are.

A Friend for Life
A person that is willing to stay no matter how flawed you are, might get angry or emotional at times but is still willing to stay even if you block them out, even if you don't have any treasures in life. A friend for life are people that can make you happy and be happy with you. And would be there not just on your brightest days but also on your darkest.

What it takes to achieve one? Who knows? Maybe you already have one... a true friend...

'What...'

"What do you mean Hinata-san..." My face went a little red as I tried and failed to dismantle the implications of her words and she blushed red too, realizing that her words could have been taken into a different sense...she bobbed her head from left to right as she tried to clear the misunderstanding…

"Ano...I mean you called me Hinata-chan on the boat didn't you… I mean I don't mind you addressing me with a less formal title, we are friends aren't we..." Her soft smile and stuttering words finally made sense as I realize that back on the boat I might have called her that… I lie down on the grass and look up towards the sky and the clouds floating by…

"Yeah, we are friends Hinata-chan...Thank you!"

I lie silently in the crisp grass, bathed in the orange light of the setting sun, each of us gazed at the glittering lake till the sun finally set… I sat up and dusted my clothes… Hinata and Shino soon followed me as we walked out of the training ground back towards the village…

"See you the day after tomorrow!" After saying that I jump on the nearby rooftop and made my way back home.

'hehe...Let's surprise mom...'

I went through a couple of hand-seals and used Henge to transform myself into a bruised version of myself… there was a huge cut on my chest, a black eyeball, and a bruised chest. My clothes were in tatters and my torso was fully exposed… I made my way towards the front door.

"I am HOME!" I ended my yell with a pained groan as I stumbled my way inside...I was just about to open the living room door when it opened and on the other side stood Mom and Dad…

'Oh, Dad's home already...perfect now I can have two targets...'

The smile on mom's face froze when she stumbled back into Dad… I smile a tired smile and waved a little while grunting painfully…

'...'

'...'

It took a second before Mom and Dad were on me frantically looking over my wounds as Dad ran towards the gate to call a doctor and mom was about to burst into tears…

I couldn't hold it in anymore and as mom came to smother me the Illusion broke and I returned back to my normal self with not a single scratch on me…

"Oops!" I started to back away from Mom and moved towards the stairs, taking momentary advantage of her confusion to reach the landing of the stairs before she dashed towards me and smothered me in her embrace…

'Oops! I may have gone a little too far here...' As mom was crying holding me at the base of the stairs I looked beyond her to see dad had an annoyed expression on his face and a tick mark above his eyes…

It took 20 mins to calm mom down and 10 minutes of scolding later we all were sitting at the dinner table where I told them how my mission went and why I am back home early…

'Maybe I shouldn't have done that because it seems like mom won't let me go out of the house again...' I finished my lunch and bade mom and dad a good night and moved towards the door…

"Tobi-chan!" 'nope...I am not turning back, I am almost safe...' my hand was inches away from sliding the door open when mom called out…

"Yes, Mom!" 'I won't be grounded, I am a grown man, a shinobi and she does not have any power over me anymore...'

"Tomorrow you will help me with shopping won't you"

I turn back to plead my case but upon noticing the smile on her face I quickly back peddled, made my way out of the room before replying, "Yes Mom!!"

*sigh*
'I need to move out soon...'

I grumble at being told what to do again but still channeled some chakra into the paper… everyone on my team eagerly waited for the reaction of the paper when it suddenly got cut into two pieces and then the two pieces became dirt and crumbled away…

'...Interesting...I never selected an element, so were they by birth or not...'

"What does that mean Kurenai-Sensei" I put on the innocent child look that I can still milk for a year or two…

"...well everyone has a natural alignment to one of the elements and in some rare cases some shinobi have a natural alignment towards two elements...according to the chakra paper, you have a natural alignment towards Wind and Earth...Here..."

She took out 5 scroll's from her pouch and after looking them over for a second threw two of them over to me...as soon as I took hold of them multiple notifications about new jutsu's and training technique appeared in my vision…

"These are some of the basic techniques and chakra manipulation exercises that you need to do in order to gain better control over your earth element..."

"As for the wind element, there are very few people in Konoha that have mastery over the wind element...I happen to know of one such person...soooo...Who's up for a field adventure!"

'Hmmm, she's blushing a little and her chakra is fluttering...damn it...who dares to make my sensei blush like that...'

I narrow my eyes as I imagine an imaginary person being crushed by my Iron dust...
