Ray was quite amazed by the carriage he was riding. Although he absolutely didn't want to appreciate his enemy's carriage but the carriage was really comfortable. Although the carriage was running through the forest but there wasn't a little bit of tremor inside. "Some kind of magic maybe" Ray wondered. Besides the creepy gaze of king Stephen everything else was okay. Suddenly the carriage stopped. If the scenery outside the small carriage window hadn't stopped he might be remained in dark.
"Your highness, we have reached the first magic transportation circle." One of the fellow subordinate or knight spoke from outside. King Stephen descended from the carriage holding Ray's basket roughly. Then hurriedly moved forward towards a huge magic circle which were glowing brightly with golden light. Ray looked at the huge magic circle pattern curiously. Surrounding the magic circle there were about thirty long blue robed man standing in a particular distance. They were continuously sending a golden shining light from their body to the magic circle. Their faces were very pale as if their life force had been sucked dry.
"They might be the legendary mages described in the fantasy books" Ray thought.
"Has everything been prepared?" Stephen asked a blue robed man who was leading the thirty men. 
" Yes your highness."
Stephen didn't speak nonsense anymore and rushed to the centre of circle. Soon the blue robed mages began to chant some gibberish in unison and the circle glowed brighter and brighter. But to Ray their chanting seemed quite "irritating" to the ear like some devil's whisper in horror movie.
" It's not at all pleasant like those online novels say." Ray annoyingly thought. Soon the bright light covered his vision and he had to close his eyes. When he opened his eyes he was in a completely different place. 
"waa..ai..ah??!!" -wow. Ray was amazed. "It's  really a transportation magic circle." 
Ray's attention was soon captivated by a new magic circle nearby. There were about sixty mages supplying their magic in the circle. This circle was far more complicated and weird than the  previous magic circle. Well 'weird' might not be the right world to describe it. It was pure 'evil'. Cause the bright light magic supplied by the mages were all transformed into pure dark magic by the magic circle. No, the magic circle wasn't exactly transforming the light magic into dark but the artefact that resided in the centre of it. It was a small rectangular platform with a half meter length leg in the centre that supported it and it was painted in black. The platform was decorated with four black gems at the four corners which even in the dark were glowing with black lustre.  The platform was inscribed with innumerable unrecognisable spells which also were glowing mysteriously.
"How's everything going Ben?" Stephen asked, " You better hurry."
A mage as peculiar as Stephen approached him. The mage's black hair was like bird's nest and his eyes were like panda because of the dark circles. He hurriedly said,
"Your highness, everything is ready. With the first ray of dawn we will start the ceremony. Your highness, first place the child on the platform. The sun will rise at any moment." 
Stephen hurriedly went into the circle to place the basket on the platform. But as soon as he entered a cold shiver ran through his spine. The dark magic was too strong here. He placed Ray's basket on the platform and smiled creepily at him, "how are you feeling little devil? Cold, isn't it? You know a  normal child would die the moment they entered such high intensity dark magic field. But look at you,.....you are only slightly shivering. You ... surely are a living miracle, aren't you? So how could i allow you to live. But don't die on me here. okay? Die on the other side. Hahaha..."
Soon the first ray of dawn touched the magic circle. Stephen hurriedly left the circle. The mages began their chanting, this time more loudly. The circle glowed with black light intensely in contrast to the upcoming dawn. It was as if life and death were confronting each other but death was spreading it's hideous claws onto life while destroying it.
"Too dark...too cold... can't breathe..." Ray in the midst of the circle was suffocating. There wasn't a little bit of light he could see. His whole body was bursting with pain as if someone was pricking thousands of cold needles all over his body. He was a little scared at this moment. In his last life he had no family, no ties in the world so at the face of death he was relieved. But in this life he had family. Though he spent only few minutes with them he tasted the sweet love and he was addicted. He wanted more of that love. He wanted to live. 
Suddenly the pendent around his neck given by his mother began to emit a soft glow which surrounded his entire body and eventually made a barrier around him. The pain and cold disappeared slowly. Ray could breath again. But it could only prevent the dark magic from entering the barrier not the dimensional transportation. Soon there appeared a big dimensional crack above him out of nowhere in the air. The crack opened to form a giant hole. Inside the hole was infinite darkness which had no end.
Even Ray who had lurked in the world of darkness, trembled. In no time the dimensional hole sucked him in it's immense darkness. At this moment he seemed to heard a ferocious roar and his mother's voice calling his name desperately and some other male voices. Well it might be death previous illusion.
After that Ray fainted.

Imogen was flying as fast as possible. At this moment he noticed a intense black light some distance away. He quickened his flying pace. Arnold and Alexa also noticed it at this moment. Their faces paled. Arnold gritted his teeth, " Such dense dark magic!!"
As they drew near they saw a giant dimension crack appeared above a huge ominous magic circle. Alexa's heart almost stopped. Lucas's eyes widened.
As the dimensional hole sucked the dark magic the darkness reduced. Then they saw a basket placed on a platform and a child lying in it.
Alexa cried out,"Ray ...!!!!!"
Arnold lost it. That's his precious child. But he had been suffering alone in the suffocating dark magic alone.
 Imogen saw the child and roared with all his might to stop the upcoming event but he was a little bit late cause as soon as he landed near the magic circle the dimension hole sucked Ray inside it's infinite darkness and then closed and disappeared completely as if it was never there.
Lucas couldn't believe it. Their little youngest brother just disappeared and King Stephen said his soul will be destroyed, meaning he would never exist again. Lucas teared up. 
Alexa went into daze. She thought the goddess's blessings would protect her son but this blessings now acted more worse than a curse. His son's whole existence was gone.
Arnold and Imogen were both so very angry that their whole body was shaking. Anger, frustration and helplessness mixed together and created a emotional turmoil in them. It was as if they were at brink of losing sanity. They looked at Stephen like he was a dead man.

“Adaeze!” my civic education teacher screamed. 

I raised my head up immediately, the sleep instantly clearing from my eyes. For a moment, I forgot who or where I was. Spit formed at the corners of my mouth due to my sleeping. I wiped them in embarrassment. 

“Yes. Yes” I answered 

The whole class burst into a fit of laughter 

“Nerd” Ben, the class bully mocked 

What he said made the class laugh even louder. I adjusted my crooked square shaped glasses. My teacher – Miss Ann shook her head in a mixture of disgust and sympathy. 

“I pity you” she shook her head “Nationalism is defined as…” 

I drifted away once again as she taught. 

 Oh, you think I was dreaming right? No no no. What you read in the previous chapter is very real. 

Let me make a quick introduction; my name is Adaeze Elizabeth Okoli. I’m a secret agent for The Conversion but every other day, I’m a sixteen-year-old elenth grade science student of “The Bright Ambassadors College” in Lekki. 

I know you have a lot of questions and I assure you that they will be answered later on. Just be patient. 

My classmates don’t know, of course. Nobody knows apart from my fellow agents in the society. I keep a low profile in school so as not to be noticed, that is the mission of every spy after all; to be invisible. I talk to few people but I don’t have any friends. 

Friendship means house visits, spending time together, going out, telling secrets, chatting and so on. I cannot afford all these because I have an allegiance to my society. Secrecy and loyalty are the top priorities in The Conversion. 

Secrecy cannot be achieved if I have a friend that’s constantly worried about my life or checking on what I’m up to. I have things to do. I have lives to save. 

“Did you guys hear the news?” my teacher asked us “The kidnapped girls have been rescued. The kidnappers have also been arrested” 

My classmates were quick to jump into the conversation. Everyone knew about the kidnapped girls but no one, not even the government or the police, knew their whereabouts. Mr. Michael was smart. My society kept searching for secret warehouses and uncompleted buildings not knowing that they’d been in his house all along. No one would have suspected. It took us a month to figure it all out. 

“Yes” Amanda said “They said he’s even a rich man in Victoria Garden City” 

“Greed will not kill us in this country o my sister” someone from the back added 

“Who rescued them, ma?” Samantha asked 

Miss Ann shrugged 

“No names” she answered “The rescuers are anonymous. No trace of them after they called the police” 

“They tried o” Ben said 

I smiled. We more than ‘tried’. We kicked ass 

The class went on smoothly. The teacher explained and dictated notes which we took down. 

A knock on the door interrupted our lesson. 

“Come in” Miss Ann answered 

The door opened revealing the vice principal – Mr Ajayi and an unfamiliar boy. He was wearing normal clothes; he’s probably a new student. 

We stood up and greeted him 

“Good morning sir” we chorused 

“Good morning class” Mr Ajayi responded 

We sat and waited 

“Oh my goshhhhh” I heard someone near me say 

Mr Ajayi spoke in hushed tones to Miss Ann as if instructing her to do something. The class erupted into a fit of whispers and giggles. 

“He’s cute!” the girls exclaimed 

“And he’s tall” 

“Check out the muscles” 

The boy wasn’t dressed in our school uniform. Instead, he was dressed in a white Versace T shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers. He was very good looking, tall and had curly brown hair. He’s obviously bi- racial or “Half caste” as we Nigerians would call it. He’s gorgeous, no doubt about that and he’s going to be trouble for the girls in our class as well as the existing popular boys. 

Girls were already planning on how to talk to him, intensely preparing their accents and I’m sure the boys envied him already- he probably posed as a threat to their popularity status. 

After a long conversation of whispers, Mr. Ajayi gave the boy a warm smile and a pat on the back then left the class. 

“What’s your name?” Miss Ann asked him 

“Justin” he answered smoothly 

Girls swooned and fanned themselves at the sound of his voice- already tripping for his foreign accent. I shook my head. Girls…. 

Maya, the “school queen” smoothened and adjusted her short skirt. 

I chuckled 

Anyway, time for my spy check. You can never be too careful. 

The operative (me) studied the subject (Justin). The subject seemed calm and walked with confident strides as he went to sit on the empty chair provided for him. 

My glasses weren’t just normal recommended glasses. They were spy glasses specially customized by the Spanish branch of The Conversion. My mother got it for me when she went on a mission in Spain. It had a microchip where the facial features of wanted criminals were stored so all it needed to do was scan the person to see if the person was a target or not. 

My glasses did a quick scan

Hair Type: Curly 

Skin colour: White 

 

The subject brought out his books and began to take notes. The operative noticed the designer signatures on the subject; Versace t shirt, fashion nova jeans and white Nike’s. 

NOT A THREAT! NORMAL CIVILLIAN 

Okay then 

I turned my attention away from Justin and focused on the class. 

Girls still spoke in hushed tones, planning how to talk to him. I’m sure the “B- boys” – the popular guys in school (all their names started with a ‘B’) would initiate him too. He looks the part anyway. 

I don’t know why the girls are acting like this; we have white people in our school. Well, maybe because he’s really cute. It’s probably the ‘New Guy Effect” 

The girly girl in me wanted to sigh and swoon at how gorgeous he is but the spy in me asked questions like I was trained to the first time I see someone; 

Is he really an ordinary civilian? 

Why did he leave his former school? 

What do his parents do for a living? 

None of my business anyway. I’m in school, not on a mission. 

A few minutes later, the bell rang for short break. Miss Ann gave us an assignment then left. Students filed in an orderly line to go and collect their snacks provided by the school in the cafeteria downstairs. 

I never went with them. I always brought my own snacks. Going with them would mean I have to socialize which I couldn’t. Nobody likes me anyway. 

I had reports to write about the mission yesterday to deliver to the organization but instead I decided to read a novel to cool my mind. 

In between spy training, meetings, missions and school (with the assignments, tests, projects and exams), I’m bound to be exhausted. That explains my constant sleeping off in class but I couldn’t help it. I still did my best to come out as the best. 

My classmates trooped in groups to talk to the new boy and introduce themselves but I noticed how he quickly dismissed each of them with a quick nod, a tight smile and mono syllabic replies 

Hmmm… 

The subject is quiet and not much of a talkative. An introvert, perhaps. 

Just like me. 

I brought out my snacks (popcorn and berry blast, my favorite drink) and a novel from my bag. I sighed in excitement. It was by one of my favourite authors ‘Stephen King”. I dived into the book immediately. 

Ben, the class bully I told you about, knocked over my book on purpose 

“Nerd” he mocked. He and the guys behind him laughed. 

I rolled my eyes and picked up the book. Little does he know that I take down guys way bigger than him in my missions. I can knock him out in a heartbeat. 

 I’m used to the taunting and slight bullying. Everyone thinks I’m proud and self-absorbed because I always top the class. They think that’s why I don’t talk to anyone, because I feel I’m too good for them. If only they knew the truth. 

The class was empty and it’s going to be like that for the next twenty minutes till short break is over. I smiled as I entered into the world of horror that Stephen King created. 

“You’re a Stephen King fan?” a smooth voice asked 

I looked up and came face to face with a pair of beautiful green eyes. Justin. 

He stood there with a bottle of Berry Blast in his hand as well. I was surprised by that. I thought most people hate this drink.. 

I looked around to make sure he was talking to me. I was stunned. There isn’t anyone behind or around me. I’m probably embarrassing myself right now but I don’t care. 

Why is he talking to me? No one ever talks to me. 

I sat there not knowing what to say 

“Do you by any chance speak English?” 

I laughed. He laughed too. The tension dissolved a little. I felt at ease now. 

“Yes, I’m a huge fan” I replied 

“Me too” he grinned “You like Berry Blast too then?” 

I nodded 

“It’s my favourite drink” I replied 

“Cool. Mine too” 

He sat on the chair in front of me and turned it around so he could face me. 

“I was shocked when I saw it. I’ve never met a girl who likes horror. Most people I know haven’t even heard of him” 

That is true. That’s one of the reasons I don’t fit in. Girls in my school are way into fashion and social media. I’m more into books and other cool stuff. I’ve never met anyone that I can relate with. Everyone thinks I’m weird. 

“I understand. I feel the same way” I said 

“I’m Justin” he said with an outstretched hand. I shook him in return. 

“I’m Adaeze but you can call me Ada” 

“Ada?” 

It was more like a question. The name rolled over his tongue like an unfamiliar word he was trying to get used to. 

“That’s a pretty name. What does it mean?” 

Annihilate. Don’t. Agitate 

“It means ‘daughter of a king”. It’s a name the Igbos give their first born daughters” 

“Wow. That’s cool. You’re the first child then?” 

“Only child actually” 

“Cool” 

“What does Justin mean?” 

“I don’t know” he laughed 

I chuckled. Of course, he wouldn’t know. 

“What’s your favourite novel by King?” he asked me 

“The shining” 

“Me too! Although, I feel the movie didn’t do the book enough justice” 

I felt the same way too! 

“I know right! It wasn’t even that scary” 

“True. Ever read ‘In the tall grass’?” 

I nodded eagerly 

“Yes! I love it. Only Stephen King can make a horror movie out of plants” 

“He is the master of horror to me” 

We got engrossed in our discussion. We clicked instantly. It was like we’ve known each other for a long time. We talked about books of every kind. He told me his favourite authors were Sidney Sheldon, Nora Roberts and Ted Dekker. 

“I have a signed Harry Potter book by JK Rowling. I met her in London” 

I gasped 

“You lucky child!” 

He laughed. 

“I guess. Have you met any author?” 

“No but I went for a book fair in the US once” 

A group of three girls entered the class; Maya and her followers; Laura and Nnena. They eyed me with a mixture of confusion and envy. Their expressions read ‘Why is he talking to the freak and not us?” 

I saw them when they previously tried to talk to Justin and he didn’t give them room for conversation yet here he is, talking to me…listening to me. I felt special for some reason. 

“Hi Justin” Maya greeted 

“Hi” Justin quickly replied, as if she was a disturbance. 

He rushed back into our conversation. 

“Do you like comics as well?” he asked me 

“Yes” 

“DC or Marvel” 

“DC totally” 

‘Oh, hell no” 

“Come on, Dc has got some pretty great heroes” 

“Avengers all the way yo” 

I stuck my tongue out at him 

“They are overrated” 

“Shut up!” 

“Why didn’t you come down for snacks?” Maya asked Justin, a flimsy excuse to get him to talk to her, 

“I’ve been talking to Ada” he said 

I giggled. He pronounced my name wrong. 

“It’s Ah-da not a-da” 

“Oh, my bad” he laughed 

“Ah like ah for apple” 

“Ada” he correctly said 

“Better” 

We laughed in unison then continued talking. 

Maya’s face was as hard as stone. She and her friends sat down and started talking while looking in our direction. It doesn’t take a genius to know she was talking about me. 

Maya is the most popular girl in our school and the prettiest girl in the whole school too. Due to her beauty and filthy rich parents, boys wanted to date her and girls desperately wanted to be her friend.

Anna put away the last of the supplies on her desk and smiled. This was her first day working as a lead in training and she was so excited. What made it the best was that John hadn’t promoted her because she was his wife, he promoted her because she was doing a good job and making the client happy. Not that it wasn’t hard but after all the things she’d overcome in the last month waiting out some sour looks and resting bit$% faces was nothing.
“Knock, knock,” Bess said from the doorway. ”Okay to come in?”
“Bess, come on in! I’m so glad to see you. I wouldn’t have been here if not for your mad computer skills.”
Bess smiled and sat down across from Anna. “It was nothing, I’m just glad I was able to help. So how have you been holding up?” 
“Okay, I told John that I’m tired of all the drama in the last few weeks. It’s emotionally exhausting.”
“I understand that”, Bess said, “I went through a really hard time in college with a stalker and I didn’t want to do anything for months after he went to jail.”
“Oh My God Bess, That’s awful.”
“Well it’s been five years and I still don’t like to be alone much.” 
“Speaking of being alone, how are things with Nathan?” 
Bess blushed and suddenly became very interested in her nails. “They are going amazing. We had a marathon of Star Wars movies the other night and he is amazing.” 
“I knew you would hit it off, I’m so happy for you.” 
“I am pretty happy. Maybe we both are on the right path after a long rough patch.” 
“I hope so because I told John if it doesn’t stop I may go crazy.” 
“Who’s going crazy? “A deep voice asked from the doorway. Nathan leaned against the jam stroking his beard smiling brightly “I hope it’s not my beautiful Bess.” 
“You are crazy.” She said as Nathan kissed her cheek and sat down across from her. 
“You two look great together, I knew you were meant to be the minute I heard Nathan talking about R2D2.” 
“Shut up!” Bess said throwing a wad of paper at her. 
Anna laughed and ducked the wad of paper smiling when the sound of a throat being cleared form the doorway interrupted their laughter. Anna’s laugh cut off at the raised eyebrows of the man at the door. His hair was red and the twinkle in his blue eyes made his whole facelift. Anna smiled at him, wishing he’d caught her in a more dignified position. 
“Who are you?” she asked as she sat up straighter.
“I’m sorry to interrupt but I’m the new executive assistant, looks like a party in here though.” 
“You must be Liam.” Anna said with a smile “I’m afraid you have caught us at a bad moment.”
“Oh no please continue,” he said with a flash of his hands, “don’t let me stop you.”
“Actually we need to get back to work.” 
Liam rolled his eyes but smiled a little as Bess and Nathan went out the door. “Please sit down,” Anna said wiping the smile off her face and motioning him to a seat in front of the desk.
“Is this where you act like a hard A** and lay down the law for me?” Liam asked with a smile. 
“Nope, this is where I get to know you and decide how we can work together without killing each other.” 
Liam laughed and snorted smiling at her. “Unless you tell me you don’t like Stephen King I think we’ll be fine.” 
“You like Stephen King?” Anna said with a wide smile. “I think he’s amazing.”
“Of course, The Stand has to be my favorite.” 
“Mine’s Carrie,” she said with a smile “I think we’ll get along just fine.”

John strode toward his wife’s office and stopped at the sound of laughter. He smiled as he listened to her laugh and breathed a sigh of relief. He’d been worried about the toll the past few weeks had on her and now to hear her laugh again in such an unguarded way made him worry just a little less. He reached for the door and went to open it but hesitated when he heard the male voice inside. 
“You are unbelievable,” Anna said with a chuckle “There is no way that the remake of Pet Cemetery is better than the original.”
“The acting and cinematography were superior and the director really knew what he was doing changing the character who dies in the movie.”
“I disagree I think a toddler zombie is way more scary.”
“Maybe we can watch them some time and compare them? “The male voice said softly.
John’s fist clenched as he pushed open the door. “I don’t think that’s going to happen.” 
“John!” Anna said with a smile coming around the desk trying to ignore his rude comment, “I was just getting to know Liam, my new assistant.” She said slowly as if she were trying to get through to him, frowning at the angry look on his face.
“Liam this is my husband John.” 
“Oh,” Liam said softly standing and extending his hand to John “It’s nice to meet you.” 
“John actually works here too,” Anna said with a smile as she nudged John back. He was stepping way to close to Liam and looked like a dog protecting a bone.
“I own the business,” John said wrapping an arm around her. 
Anna pushed him back a little and smiled at Liam. “I think if we start with those projections for the new ad campaign that will be a good place to start.”
Liam nodded and walked toward the door as the environment got more awkward. John might as well have hung a sign on her neck that read “John’s property.”
“Okay, I’ll get started on that. It was nice to meet you, John.” 
“You too,” John growled as Liam nodded and walked out the door.
“What the Hell do you think you were doing?” Anna snarled as she slammed the door shut and rounded on John. “You were acting like a jealous A**hole.” 
John opened his mouth but the look Anna sent him stopped him cold.

After Harry changed up, he returned to his office and called for his butler.

'So, this wasn't some shady side business that the meatball was doing. Seems like the demons wouldn't be trying to harm us then.'
"This letter says that they will be coming today for conducting their business. Is there anything special that I need to keep in mind for this meeting?"
Harry felt the need to ask this.
He was new and didn't even know of the trade with demons until he read the letter.
That seemed to be an important revenue source for his country and Harry didn't want to mess it up so early on.
"There isn't much to worry about, your majesty. They usually come around midday every month. All the things to be sold have already been collected and stored at the proper locations. You don't need to worry about that as well.
But there are three things that you must keep in mind.
First, they are a race that values the strong. So, they might not treat you with much respect if you are weaker than the person talking to you.
Second, they rarely come to the palace and the trades are conducted at the location of their arrival.
And most importantly, their appearances, though like us humans, are still significantly different from us. I hope that it doesn't affect you when you face them. For if you aren't lucky, the demon you offend might try to harm you or even kill you."
Harry wasn't too fazed by this.
He had already asked the system about the demons when he went to change clothes and was just confirming things from his butler.
"Hmmm, is that so? I'll try my best to stay calm. But what is this place that you're talking about?"
Harry was pretty curious about how the demons managed to travel halfway around the world just for ores.
"You may not worry about that. Though the place is a bit far, you can reach there in about two hours by carriage. When the time comes, one of the servants will guide you to the location themselves.", replied the butler.
"Ah, I understand. Thanks a lot for helping me out Stephen!", Harry thanked his butler with a smile on his face.
"No need to thank me, my lord. For I was just doing my duty.", replied Stephen before he stepped towards the door.
A few seconds after he left, Qing and Shin broke in through the door.
"Elder brother! What's going on!? 
Another attack!?"
"We were a little far away when you shouted.
And when we asked a nearby maid, she said that you shouted something about people coming over here!
Is everything okay, Harry?"
The two of them looked as if they were prepared to go to war or something.
"Woah, Woah, guys! Stop right there!
We're not going to war or anything!
Just some people are coming in for business purposes, not to try and kill us, okay?"
Harry thought that it was best to stop them before they make a mess.
"But Harry, the last time you said that people were coming, you blew up that large area in the forest and were asleep for 2 straight days!
How can we be calm right now!?"
"Yeah, elder brother Harry, elder brother Shin is right!
Last time we weren't prepared. But this time, we will surely defeat whoever comes our way!
And you can't be sure if the people coming might not try to hurt us!"
The two sounded as if they would be ready to fight Godzilla in hand-to-hand combat right now.
"Guys! At least confirm from me about what I said.
I remember saying that they weren't coming to fight.
But instead of asking me, you asked the maid and built upon your misunderstanding!
And don't blame the maid for not telling the entire thing properly!
How would she know what 'people are coming' meant for you guys?
She just heard me and told what she felt was a simpler version of that to you guys.
That's it!
And remove all this get up quickly. We will need to move in some time."
The two were wearing makeshift camo clothing and face paint from God knows where.
Harry couldn't go meet the demon traders while carrying two people who would basically look no different from savage tribals to the people of this world.
He couldn't exactly leave them behind either.
Since if he did that, he'd probably find a much scarier demon waiting for him back home if he came back late.
Finally, after sorting all this out, Harry returned to doing as much of the remaining paperwork as he could before the time for departure came.
And after about one hour more of working his life away, he heard a knock on his door, calling him to the carriage.
And so, Harry departed the palace on his carriage along with Qing, Shin and a maid from the palace, who was there to guide him.
They travelled to a location that was a bit far from the populated areas.
Harry figured that it was just to prevent any person living in the country from coming in contact with the demons.
Otherwise, the trading might be negatively affected if the representative from the demons' side takes offence to anything someone else might say.
The place they arrived at seemed to look like a noble's mansion that had been abandoned since long back.
The insides, however, looked more like a warehouse filled with a pretty large amount of ores and similar material.
There were many pillars to support the entire structure but no rooms were made to increase storage space.
There was a door on the other side of the warehouse as well.
And in the middle of the building was what seemed to be a meeting table with several chairs surrounding it.
'That door must be the entrance for demons and the table would be for any discussions that any side might want to hold.', Harry thought to himself as the four of them walked into the building.
"Ah, your majesty, it appears that we have come a little early than the usual time. Since the other gate seems unused, it doesn't seem like the d-de- the other party have arrived yet!"
The maid accompanying them seemed to hesitate in speaking about the demons.
"Hey, what happened? Anything wrong?
You seem to be a little afraid of, as you called them, 'the other party'.
You don't have to hesitate. Just speak your mind."
Harry asked the maid in a gentle voice.
"A-ah, no, it's nothing, your majesty!
It's just that I'm very new here, just came in a little more than a week back.
And I was only told about the d-de-demons and all that a few days ago.
I haven't actually met them and from what I know from old legends, they are very scary and dangerous beings. That's why I got a bit scared…"
Harry could help but smile at her cute little personality.
'But wait! Why did those guys send a completely new maid with us!?
I think I'll need to have a serious talk about this incident.'
Harry was just thinking this when the opposite door started glowing from its edges.
"Ah, so they use some sort of portal spells!"
Harry voiced out his thoughts as the door opened.
And from the other side, came a single woman followed by what seemed like her bodyguards.
These demons looked somewhat humanoid, with upright bodies, heads on top, legs at the bottom and arms at their sides.
But other than these very basic similarities, they were very different from anything Harry had seen in real life.
The bodyguard demons were very bulky and covered with very rough-looking grey skin, thick scaly arms and legs that looked somewhat like thick tree trunks made of stone. Their body also seemed to have some form of a rocky layer over most of their skin and they didn't seem to be wearing any visible clothing.
The lady, on the other hand, looked very slim in comparison.
However, her entire head looked like it was covered with eyes, sort of like a horror-movie version of the Greek monster called Argus Panoptes, and had no hair.
The rest of her skin looked pitch black, as though it was sucking out light like a black hole.
Her limbs seemed to be made of intertwined tentacles of some sort.
And the short dress that she was wearing seemed to keep changing colours.
The woman walked straight to the table while the other men walked to the side and started collecting the ores.
'Seems like they were workers and not bodyguards…'
Harry thought as he also approached the table.
From the corner of his eye, Harry could see that Qing and Shin looked a little tense while the maid seemed to be quite afraid of the newcomers.
"Hooh, it seems like that meatball sent someone new to greet me...", the demoness said with what seemed to be a smile. (It was difficult to tell with all the eyes covering her face.)
"Ah, you're mistaken about that one.
You see, that 'meatball' isn't king any longer.
I bought the kingdom from him and am its new king.", Harry said with a business-like smile on his face.
He was going to be working with her for a long time, so it was better to come clean about his identity.
"Oh, a new king and you say you bought the kingdom?
Quite the bold man you are!
And quite fearless as well! Just look at how calm you look compared to the other three newbies! Hahaha!"
The demoness started laughing while looking at Harry's companions.
Suddenly, the system's voice rang in his head.
[Neural damage due to invasion of external energy detected.
Commencing cellular restoration.
…
Cellular restoration complete. All traces of external energy have been expelled.]
'Oh, it seems she tried playing some mind games with me…
Too bad for her, I got my system to protect me!'
"Why thank you, ma'am.
How about we sit and talk? I don't think you would prefer to tire your legs if our talks take time."
Unlike her, Harry continued to be formal, not showing the slightest hint of noticing her failed attempt.
"No need to be so formal, boy!
I can see that you are the strongest mortal I have met in my life.
If you didn't know, we demons respect strength and you don't need to be too formal with me as I have deemed you to be strong enough!
Just call me Liang!", the demoness said with an amused-looking expression as she sat on one of the chairs.
"Alright then, Ms. Liang. You can call me Harry.
From your name, I guess that you're the one who sent the letter?", said Harry in a less formal manner.
"Ah, yes! I did. But I addressed it to the former king.
Totally didn't know that you guys would change rulers so suddenly..."
"Oh, yeah, I know it was sudden. But what can I do?
I offered that meatball some money and he gladly gave everything to me and ran like he'd been preparing for this for days!
I really felt like laughing my a*s off when I saw that guy!"
Harry felt that he could be a little more relaxed with her compared to most other people.
She looked like someone who wouldn't care if God was in front of her as long as she found him weak enough.
Meanwhile, Harry's three companions had expressions of shock on their faces when they saw him joking around and laughing with such a monstrous-looking person.
'I have seen a bunch of horror movies back on Earth. To the point that most of them didn't scare me one bit.
And Ms. Liang seems so much more friendly and so less scary than those ghosts and monsters from those movies!', Harry thought to himself as he continued discussions about the ore business.
The discussions mainly consisted of talks about what kind of things were currently being exported, what more the demons wanted and the prices that the humans demanded.
But after a while, the talking even shifted to more scholarly topics like languages and sciences.
"It seems that not only are you exceptionally strong, but exceptionally wise as well!
And you say that you found this from your own experiments?"
Liang looked very intrigued with Harry when she heard about some of the scientific knowledge he had.
"Yes, I did experiments to verify the results.
But the initial knowledge came from some very old books which I, unfortunately, do not possess anymore."
Harry decided to stick to his old excuse since he still had Qing and Shin sitting beside him.
"So, ms. Liang, how long do you plan on staying here? I have some new products that you might be interested in. But they will take a few days to mass-produce."
"New products? If they're coming from a man like you, I think I'd love to hear more!"
Liang looked quite excited about hearing about new things.
"Well, I have made a plant-based high-quality parchment that I'm calling 'Paper'.
Unfortunately, the first batch is probably still not finished and even that isn't in a large quantity.
You might have to wait a few days before we can produce enough for export.", said Harry while feeling like a salesman.
"A plant-based parchment, you say?
We too have something similar, but it's still of worse quality than animal hide parchments.
If you say that it's 'high-quality', it needs to be the quality of top-quality parchment, you understand?"
"Oh, don't you worry about the quality, Ms. Liang!
Currently, it'll be just as good as some of the best parchments in the market.
But if you give us a year to develop, its quality will far surpass the quality of even the most expensive ones."

Cultivator-A: "You must cultivate qi to attain immortality!"
MC: "Nah, I'd rather extract Hydrogen to make nukes..."

Archwizard: "O flames, heed my command and-"

The Ancient One was dying and she knew it. Her fate was to die after she had taught Dr. Strange to be the next sorcerer Supreme but she knew she had little time left even with the Dragon Breathe provided by her step son Ray. The Ancient One was dying because of the residual energies in her body from the Dark Dimension that gave her Immortality in the past. Now it was slowly killing her. There was nothing anyone can do about it. Even Ray looked at it and said it was fated.

As the Ancient One stood on the edge of her balcony she couldn't help but manipulate Dr. Stephen Strange's life to speed up faster so he would become a surgeon earlier and be famous earlier. Now that Dr. Stephen Strange was a famous neurosurgeon, he had become arrogant. The Ancient One thought it was the perfect time for Dr. Strange to have a little car accident so his hands could be ruined. As Dr. Strange met Christine Palmer earlier and got rich earlier, it was time for him to lose the use of his hand earlier. The Ancient One started to cast a spell that would result in Dr. Strange having a car accident that would injure both his hands. As the spell was finished, the Ancient One released it as she smiled at her own work.

Just like in the Marvel movie Dr. Strange after the car accident, Nicodemus West the surgeon ruined Dr. Strange's hand through his surgery. It was following just like the script in the movie with Dr. Strange trying his best by using all of his wealth to find a cure for his hand. And just like the movie, Dr. Strange used all of his wealth only to fail to improve his hands. It was then Dr. Strange learned of Jonathan Pangborn, a paraplegic who regained the use of his legs magically. Dr. Strange decided to make the trip to Kamar Taj to see if he could regain the use of his hands just like Jonathan Pangborn regained the use of his legs.

Once the younger Dr. Strange arrived there once again just like the movie Dr. Strange he managed to find the Ancient One. And the Ancient One accepted him as his apprentice. The Ancient One enticed Dr. Strange by letting him know she knew he had 7 procedures done on his hands. Dr. Strange just like in the movie assumed that the Ancient One is a scientist that found a new way to heal the body. After that the Ancient One told Dr. Strange she could heal through belief, Dr. Strange went into a rant. Then the Ancient One showed Dr. Strange a glimpse of the universe. And just like in the movie Dr. Strange begged the Ancient One to accept him as a pupil.

Thus the road was set for a new sorcerer supreme named Dr. Strange at an earlier date. Ray smiled as he looked into the vision of the Ancient One accepting Dr. Strange. After all his manipulation of the Ancient One's mind through his medicine the Dragon Breathe has sped up the creation of Dr. Strange. And the world will need Dr. Strange if this cosmic God that is snacking on the infinity stones comes to Earth !

(Muthu's Dog)

Muthu was once again at Raj's Deli in New York, his new assistant for his shop now was a dog, he was known as a pervert, a pedophile, a rapist, a lover of old men and women, so now the only thing he could get to take care of his shop was a pet dog.

As Muthu was stroking his dog, he thought of his revenge against Oswald. He would never give up or waver. This was just a small hiccup in getting his revenge. As Muthu continues to stroke his dog, he began to realise his pants zipper was stuck to the dog's fur and it seems the dog's buttock was stuck to his zipper or his penis.

Just as Muthu was trying to get the dog's fur untangled from his zipper, Max his erstwhile young boy assistant walked into his shop.

"Hi Muthu !", Max shouted out happily as he waved at him.

".......", Muthu was speechless as he continued to struggle to get the fur detached from his pants zipper. It began to look like Muthu was sodomising the Male dog from the behind.

"Oh my !", Max shouted out in shock as he covered his eyes.

Suddenly Sari, Max's grandmother walked in.

Today was to be an important day, seven years of work's completion. Stephen Umber, 57 years old, and team leader for the design team which currently surrounded him was watching as his team moved the bare car chassis that was the culmination of their work to the center of the work shop. Having been an engineer for 31 years Stephen had experienced many similar events, when the ultimate goal was on the cusp of being achieved, however he believed this was most likely to be the most significant. The new engine could use a special hydrocarbon fuel, scientists had recently developed that could be efficiently produced from water that was in the presence of a carbon dioxide containing atmosphere. This new engine combined with the fuel making process would remove the necessity of batteries being used by cars, it was a matter of international importance. The team finished setting up the new engine in its chassis. 

"You do the honours, Stephen" says the deputy head with a jovial cheer. 

He hands Stephen the small control box with a large red button. With great excitement all the team looks on excitedly as Stephen presses down the button, the sound of the motor turning over a little sounds out before BOOM! an explosion rocks out from the engine shrapnel blasting outwards. All Stephen sees is a bright flash before a large chunk of his life's greatest achievement flies through his head killing him instantly.

Suddenly, a teenage boy sits up in his bed breathing heavily having just woken from a nightmare. He looks at his hands confused and down along his toned body before looking even more confused around the large room. 

'Where am I?' Stephen thinks to himself noticing the large opulent room and feeling the smooth and soft silk sheets against his oddly young body. 

Another thought comes to his mind 'who am I?' 

As the thought comes to his mind a pain racks through his head and he grips his temples fighting the pain. Many memories belonging to someone else rushes through his head, "Alexander Halgran? Is that my name? Or the name of the previous owner of this body?". 

Stephen sits on the bed thinking over the memories in his head, Alexander, a prince of the Kingdom of Halgran, the third prince. Alexander doesn't seem to be particularly famous, a minor military career, not bad nor great, and a similar diplomatic career. An unexceptional prince. From the memories it seems that the King is deathly ill... this nation's inheritance laws not handing the kingship to the eldest son or anything similar, instead after every king dies the nation is almost always embroiled into civil war as the princes compete for rule. 

Stephen knows this doesn't bode well for him. 'I may as well sleep and deal with this in the morning...' Stephen thinks before drifting off to sleep.

Beams of light drift down onto Alexander Halgran, who is now seemingly inhabited by Stephen Umber. Stephen, no Alexander woke up at this bright light and attempted to sit up in his bed only to find himself currently pinned by a large black shape. The large black shape raises its head revealing it to be a large wolf like dog, currently resting its large torso on his chest. Alexander almost has a heart attack from fear before recognition comes across him followed by another rush of memories belonging to the previous Alexander, who was who was very confusing for poor Stephen/Alexander. 

"Lucio…" Alexander whispers extending his one free hand towards the large dog, its eyes immediately responding to its name. 

The dog stretches its head towards the hand with a gentleness defying its large menacing appearance. Alexander now remembers Lucio, his dog who had been with him/ the old Alexander for most of their lives. 

"Well Lucio… this is all very confusing…" he remarks to Lucio more for his own benefit then the now slightly confused dog. 

As Alexander looked at the dog the doors to his bedchamber burst open.
"Prince Alexander!? Are you awake!?" calls out a young woman clearly a maid and clearly a little older than Alexander.

Alexander responds nervously, "Um… yes…" and awkward silence embroils the whole room before he realises his mistake. 

"Yes, I am awake, Maria" he says in a voice filled with new-found confidence and a slight tinge of bravado attempting to mimic the old Alexander, "Why have you burst into my room so rudely? What is going on?"

Slightly breathless Maria responds quickly stammering slightly, "The king, his majesty, has summoned you, your highness and the princes to the throne room."

Maria draws a deep breath before calmly continuing, "I do not know why he summons, only that you only have a very short amount of time to be present."

Numerous thoughts rush through Alexander's head as he considers the possibilities, the king, as everyone knows, isn't far from death, this could be an announcement relating to his inheritance. Alexander feels his palms become sweaty as he gently but also quickly shoves the hulking form of Lucio off of him. 

"Leave now" he orders hurriedly to Maria, and as soon as she leaves he rushes around the room attempting to use his memories to find his clothes and remember how exactly some of the more complex, unusual and ceremonial articles go on. 

After getting fully dressed he fumbles with his sword belt attempting to correctly attach his sabre. 

"Stay Lucio, you can't come with me" he quickly says to the confused dog which has been watching him from his bed this whole time, before rushing out of the room and towards the throne room. 

Almost running through the corridors Alexander finds himself almost bumping into many of the servants going about their morning duties. Eventually he reaches the large foyer to the throne room where he can see his siblings all patiently waiting seemingly having been given more notice than him.

"Ah, Alexander, you have finally arrived" quietly calls Percible in a snickering voice, his thin body and dark complexion making him look the part of the schemer that he is. Percible the second prince had earned his fame as had their older brother and Alexander during the Great Magic War, Percible as a cunningly backstabbing diplomat. 

'Wait!' thinks Alexander, 'Magic!? That exists here!? What is this Dungeons and Dragons!?'. 

Alexander had many fond memories of Dungeons and Dragons from his previous life, he was 13 when first edition had been released, and he had loved it despite that early version's numerous flaws. Now as Alexander compared what he remembered about the world of Dungeons and Dragons and this new place he was in the similarities were striking. Most notably the existence of dwarves, elves and goblins, each of these races having been important in the Great Magic War, when humanity had pushed for more territory invading each of those races.

A deep and strong voice reached Alexander's ears, "uh, brother you are here. I do wish father is well" when Alexander looked towards the stoic man who was the source of his voice he saw his eldest brother, first prince of Halgran, Ildan, a famed military leader. 
"Hello brothers, do either of you know why father has called us?" Alexander politely responds, to which Percible just shrugs and Ildan shakes his head looking at the ground with concern.

The large doors of the throne room swing open, standing looking at the three princes stands the king's advisor, Darius.

"Come now, princes, the king will not be awake long" Darius says quickly before immediately turning around and walking down the long length of the throne room.

Waiting down the far end of the throne room upon a throne of massive proportions covered in copious amounts of gold that raises him far above everyone else in the room. The trio of princes quickly follow the adviser and each knelt in front of the large throne. Now closer to the throne Alexander noticed an old and wizened man sitting just behind the throne, 'this man is the wizard working to keep my father alive' thinks Alexander.

"Welcome my sons" says the king in a high reedy voice week from age and disease, "I have called you hear today because I fear for my kingdom, and for you my sons. For three generations only one prince has been present for the death of the previous king, and during this time our great kingdom has flourished. And yet here we are, on the brink of repeating the scenario that destroyed this city five generations ago. As such, to any of you my sons, who are willing to renounce your inheritance I will grant a governorship over part of the new and prosperous lands each of you had a hand in cleansing of the goblin filth."

Alexander realizing this is the exact opportunity he has been looking for to save his life faced with an impending war immediately shouts, "My lord father, I will renounce my title of prince and accept your offer, I have no intentions upon the throne."

The king's smile grows, only one more of his sons needs to accept his offer now and the kingdom will be saved from ruin.

"Father", a snickering voice calls out, "I will not be denied my birth right to fight for the crown, if my brothers wish to give it to me, then that will be fine." Concludes Percible.

The king appears to visibly age and peers over to Ildan a last glimmer of hope burning in his eyes, "Ildan, what about you my son?" he asks deeply concerned.

Ildan sighs heavily, a deep burden resting upon him, "father, I am beloved by the people, a hero of the war. I could not in good conscience leave the kingdom to Percible. Our traditions exist in order to choose the strongest king."

The king's visage grows dark, he slumps back into his throne, wrinkles appearing to grow on his face. After some time of just looking up at the portraits of previous kings and paintings of battle scenes on the ceiling he finally speaks again, "Alexander, you are no longer a prince of this realm, but you are now baron of the town of Sapphire Lake. Take with you fifty thrones of gold and choose an advisor from the Presidium, a clerk should do. Also, Mondaeus will go with you." 

The weakened king then turns to Darius, "see to it that all of this is done and that Alexander leaves on a river galley tomorrow." Turning away from Darius back towards his sons he concludes saying, "my kingdom, my life's achievement will be destroyed but so be it. Leave now, and you who are still princes do not look at me again until… until I am in my coffin."

Alexander is the first to rise and bow quickly leaving the throne room.

A talented Engineer reborn into a classic fantasy world? The sky's the limit in this New World Of Steel! At least for now, after all, I doubt a human lifetime is long enough to develop space flight from a feudal society... or is it!? Find out as the story progresses.

This is my first novel, and I honestly hope the quality will be acceptable, we will see I guess.

The mercenary groups left the scene with smiles on their faces, while the children looked like they had lost their souls. 
It was not only the Abandoned Society that had suffered the onslaught of the Harbingers, the Ranger Team, and Neo Lazarus, also received serious injuries during the clash.
Aron suffered from a broken arm when he used his body to shield one of the children of Neo Lazarus from getting mauled by one of the Harbingers.
Franky had several wounds in his body due to nail scratches from the frenzied fiends. It was the first time that Claire had seen so many injured people in a day. In the end, she had reached her limit and almost passed out.
If not for Kate, who was near her at that time, the exhausted girl might have fallen face first on the floor when her legs gave way while walking towards her next patient. Seeing her pale expression, Kate and Chloe dragged her away forcefully to have her rest.
Freya, and Storm, worked tirelessly during the night along with Xavier and other members of Team Mystic who were proficient in the arts of healing. It was quite fortunate that Ciel, Chloe, and Celine had prepared for this mission beforehand and made a surplus of regeneration potion for everyone.
Ciel had been consuming several blood packs throughout the past few days because his blood was the main ingredient for the potions. 
This was also why he wasn't able to participate in the operation. He was currently too weak due to the loss of blood and had to rely on external help to ensure the operation's success. 
The people in the village were very curious about the noises that they heard last night. Thankfully, Heinz had managed to camouflage the whole operation as a "Movie Shoot". There were even Cameras and other types of movie equipment that had been "placed" in various locations throughout the village. 
The family, who had their home destroyed, was shocked when they saw the current state of the house. Fortunately, Heinz appeared giving them a cheque worth £200,000 ($273,697). 
Heinz made some small talk and assured the family that they would definitely consider their offer for future productions. This made the family very happy and even insisted that, if they planned to do another movie shoot, they should come and find them!
It took another full day for Lazarus and the other mercenary groups to clean up the battlefield. They didn't intend to leave any evidence behind. It was meticulous and bloody work and they didn't allow the children to participate in it. 
When Stephen opened his eyes, he found himself in an unfamiliar room. The images of the Night Raid immediately passed through his mind which jolted him awake. 
He hurriedly sat up from the bed, only to find that he was wearing the familiar shorts and shirt that he always wore when he was inside Lazarus' base. This lessened the anxiety he was currently feeling. 
He glanced around the room to make sure that he was not being held inside a prison cell. After seeing that everything looked normal, he hurriedly walked toward the door. The boy was about to turn the knob when the door opened from outside. 
Stephen immediately stepped back and went into a fighting stance. He was still unsure if he was really inside one of the bases of Lazarus or if he had been captured by the enemy. If it was the first then there was nothing to be afraid of.
However, if it was the latter…
Stephen was prepared to transform into his Werewolf form and subjugate whoever was about to enter the room. He was about to transform when a girl with reddish brown hair, carrying a tray of food, appeared in front of him. Seeing that familiar face, Stephen was finally able to relax.
Kate blanked out for a brief moment when she saw Stephen in a fighting stance. After a brief moment of silence, a smile appeared on her pretty face.
"It's good to see that you are finally awake," Kate said as she walked inside the room. "You have been sleeping for two days and I was getting very worried."
"T-Two days?!" Stephen was shocked. "I slept for two days?"
"Yes. The injuries that you received from the battle were very severe," Kate explained. "Even though your own regeneration ability and the potion did their work, the battle took its toll on your body."
Stephen calmed down and politely asked Kate to sit on the chair inside the room. He wanted to know what happened during the days when he was unconscious. 
Kate understood Stephen's worries, so she told him everything that had happened. When the boy found out that the one who saved him was Celine, a sour feeling rose to his chest. 
Before the mission started, Stephen was very confident that he could easily beat the fiends with his ability. His confidence came from the first Night Raid that he participated in. Since he was the one who took down the leader of the experimental subjects during that incident, he became fearless.
He thought that all the Harbingers were of the same strength and didn't take them seriously. After his self-reflection, Stephen finally remembered what Ciel had told him before the mission started. 
"Stupidity combined with arrogance and a huge ego won't get you very far."
These were the words Ciel had told him in passing a day before they left for the mission. Back then, Stephen thought that Ciel was just trying to trash talk him in order to show him who was the one in charge.
He didn't think about it much back then and put it at the back of his mind. Only now when everything was over did the blonde boy's words came back to haunt him.
"How about the others?" Stephen asked. "Are they faring well?"
"I certainly hope so." Kate sighed. "Lynn just woke up yesterday, while Neville lost his cheerfulness. The others look calm on the surface, but there are bags under their eyes. Clearly, they haven't gotten much sleep after the operation ended."
Kate stood up and was about to leave the room when she suddenly remembered something.
"Ah, before I forget. Ciel mentioned something to everyone," Kate said. "You were still unconscious back then, so I'll say it to you in case the others forget."
Stephen nodded his head and waited for Kate to continue her explanation.
"He gave everyone a week to decide whether they want to continue or not," Kate explained. "After a week, if they decide to back out and return to their normal everyday lives, Ciel will seal their powers."
"Seal our powers?" Stephen asked. "Why?"
Kate looked at Stephen with a serious expression. "With great power there must also come great responsibility. At least, that is what Spiderman said according to Ciel." 
"So if we decide to return to our everyday lives, our powers will be sealed? Is that it?" Stephen frowned. "Can he do that?"
"I don't know." Kate shook his head. "But, since he was the one who said it then he must have the means to do it. I still need to visit Chloe and Claire, I'll see you later."
Kate turned her head and was prepared to leave when Stephen grabbed her hand.
"How about you?" Stephen looked at Kate with a serious gaze. "Are you planning to continue? You don't have to join this dangerous game that Ciel is playing. You can just live as a normal student. Don't worry, if Ciel kicks you out, you can stay at my place. I will ensure that you will be able to eat your fill everyday."
Kate's eyes widened at Stephen's outburst. She could tell how serious Stephen was. If she could really turn a blind eye to everything, she would definitely accept his offer. However, she couldn't. 
Aside from Ciel, Kate was the other person who couldn't run away from this fight. She had been running away for many years, and she was sick and tired of it. 
"Sorry, but I can't," Kate replied with a sad expression. "Memento Mori is the organization that was responsible for making me a homeless child. I have scores to settle with them."
"I will settle the scores for you," Stephen replied. He held Kate's hand firmly, unwilling to let go. "I will fight in your place. I promise to become strong. You don't have to suffer again."
Kate felt something warm spreading inside her chest. This was the first time that someone was actively telling her that they would fight for her. Even Ciel hadn't said anything like this, and it made her look at Stephen in a new light.
Even so, Kate shook her head. 
"Thank you," Kate said sincerely. "But, this is a battle that I have to fight. Stephen, I think you should really think carefully if you want to continue or not. The enemies that we are going to face will be stronger and they will no longer underestimate their opponents."
"This time, we got lucky because Kei and Celine stepped in to help. If not then all of us might have lost our lives on this mission," Kate added. "I don't want any of you to die because you were dragged into a battle you have no reason to join. If possible, I'd like you to return to your normal life."
Stephen was about to say something more, but Kate had already freed herself from his hold and left in haste. 
"Return to my normal life?" Stephen muttered. 
He clenched his hands out of helplessness. 'If I return to my normal life then what about you? What about you, Kate? Is there really no hope for you to live a normal and peaceful life?'
