I’ve been a street rat, a bruiser, a bouncer, a fixer, a nanny, and a cleaner. You do what you can to get by in Dockside. It ain’t always pretty, but if you keep your chin tucked down and your fists raised, more often than not you make it out the other side okay. Something dark is festering just beneath its surface and corrupting anything it touches...including the locals and when the locals range from elves to spider people to freaking dragon woman that aren’t too happy with the human population, the last thing they need is a corrupting touch.

Well, you can take the boy out of Dockside but you can’t take the Dockside out of the boy. It’s time to tuck that chin and raise those hands. A fights brewing, and It’s been a while since I had a good one.

The first story only Using my own Characters. Not a fan-fiction. the story will have evolution qualities for humans and creatures a well as environment. The other two fan fictions I have will be canabiled into this one.

World has gone haywire. Creatures of horror rule micro universe. Humankind has shrunk down to little levels. The main character wakes up from a coma in a world no longer like his own. What to do?

Last night I was talking to one of the workers at group home that I stay in Until both my mom and myself cannot sell straightened out and into her apartment. Anyway she said that My writing has made it to the newspaper for Christmas contests that I did and completely forgot about. The story was called Christmas Dippers a childhood memory. It was about my father and I walking around the neighbourhood looking at fancy Christmas lights and some people tend to do to their houses. It was a fun memory and then I'll probably won't go to the field at the end of my street after the walk and go stargazing a night actually see the big dipper hang low in the sky and we would look at the different constellations. Then the next morning was Christmas I think and I saw that they got me a planet mobile was a different planet and I learned about The Jupiter.  Well anyway the story of my memory made it to my the lanark highlands paper according to one of the workers she sent me a picture I can't send you the picture because this is a writing app but anyway it was the picture of my memory article about the Christmas lights and stargazing. It was a very good night last night except for the dream I had was kind of offputting and weird but I guess that's some thing when you find out that you did something out of the ordinary that's your Squirrley brain's way of saying job well done without having to get a nightmare or a good dream it was a semi-good dream.  But I just decided to tell Nana I wanna contest and I look on the paper for a Christmas memory that I did that sound good or a ride or I can be at times. I want is for us to show my mother the actual picture of the article/story of the memory I had and she was very proud of me and I was very proud of myself I wish I could reward myself with a vynil record or beanie boo.  As you can tell by this particular Wattpad that I have that I use poetry and micro fiction fiction I really do fiction but this was a contest anyway.   But this is the only time around this month Wattpad that my writing has been noted as good on my old Wattpad account was also one talent scout it and was told to direct my talents to webnovel which I also have now I have many books are now on Webnovel and people pounce on them as if they're candy. Because of that one talent scout before I found out about the lockdown and the contest i won during lockdown.  As you can tell I use my Writing Weatherby poetry or journalling or dream journalling to help with my PTSD I might Delvin the micro factions if they're good enough for me.

Micro-torpedoes? Right, the pirate ship is a modified military vessel. Not only micro-torpedoes, but they might even have large torpedoes that could blow up military vessels. If they were to shoot a torpedo at our ship and sink us, what could we do?
Big Pineapple seemed to have thought of something. He suddenly looked defeated. Then he noticed that everyone on the boat looking at him oddly.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Big Pineapple asked suspiciously.
"It's impossible that they would fire a normal torpedo because, for pirates, the most valuable thing is the cruise ship itself," the mutton-chopped NPC Chief Officer explained to Big Pineapple. "So why would they ever blow it up? What they want to do is catch up with us and board our ship to kidnap everyone before taking the ship back to their base."
"Sh*t. So I worried for nothing… Then, you guys continue!" said Big Pineapple in embarrassment.
"Based on the range of the Six-barrelled Electromagnetic Railgun," said Neutron Star, "without accounting for losses of ammunition, we can probably take them out directly at the 300-meter range. These assault boats aren't much of a threat."
"The electromagnetic railgun can't be used!" Red Queen said.
"What's the problem?"
"The electromagnetic railgun was destroyed," explained the mutton-chopped Chief Officer. "Not only that, but the 40mm close-in cannon above it also seem to have a problem. The group of pirates who arrived earlier was here specifically to destroy the ship's defensive weapons!"
Big Pineapple touched his helmet in annoyance. "This is why I really hate encountering humanoid monsters. We need to pit our IQ against them!"
Red Queen immediately made a decision. "The micro-torpedoes will only be fired after they get within 250 meters. At least that still leaves us with sufficient time to deal with them. I can take care of one of the assault boats. Black Panther, Mr. Feng, the other two will be left to you!"
A golden staff over 1.5 meters long appeared in her hands. The surface of the staff was carved with complex patterns. On top of it, there was a Fire Energy Crystal that was about the size of the fist. The entire thing looked like a combination of science fiction and fantasy, and it was quite captivating. Feng Luo thought that compared to Red Queen's staff, the "Heart of Fire" that he had seen a few days at the Nightless City auction was like a burning stick. It was 100 percent a piece of Rare equipment!
"I'm fine!" Black Panther nodded quietly and grabbed his sniper rifle before heading to find a sniping spot.
"I'm also fine!" said Feng Luo.
"Old Feng, do you need cover?" Big Pineapple asked. He and Feng Luo were both hired guns, so after a day of interacting with each other, they got along quite well.
Feng Luo nodded. "Help cover me a bit. The pirates on the ship might have guns!"
The assault boats that the pirates rode were really quick. They were as ferocious as three sharks pursuing their prey, and within a few minutes, the had already gotten within 1,000 meters of the cruise ship's range.
By now, it was clear that each assault boat carried six pirates. All of them were brandishing their blades or AKs, occasionally firing into the air.
Bang!
When the first assault boat reached around 1,200 meters, Feng Luo's M110 fired its first shot.
"Shooting when they're still so far away?"
Big Pineapple heard some gunshots and showed some doubts as he stood slightly in front of Feng Luo while raising an alloy shield, his other hand on the binoculars to observe the scene. However, within his field of vision through the binoculars, after around one second, the windshield in front of the driver of the assault boat shattered as if hit by a hammer. Cracks like a spider web appeared on the transparent glass pane.
"This shooting range… It's so far!" Surprised flashed past Big Pineapple's eyes.
Clearly, the windshield in front of the assault boat was quite bulletproof, so Feng Luo's shot did not have too many effects. However, Feng Luo was not anxious. Instead, he took out the normal armor-piercing bullet magazine from the M110 and switched it to the destructive double armor-piercing round.

"It's 100 percent a C-grade bullet," Feng Luo said. "The average price is 300 credits per shot. The key is that it's not available at the Exchange. There's no way I'm going to be so charitable and use these things to kill small fries."
Feng Luo's face remained unchanged, and while they spoke, he fired another shot.

Neutron Star possessed a talent that increased normal damage. Paired with his dual-wielding quick combat style, he could ensure that he would not be like an average Light Armor Warrior whose combat strength would diminish substantially when they ran out of MP; his ability to fight on continuously was shocking.
As for the healing pack that White Crescent had thrown earlier, it had actually recovered one-third of Neutron Star's HP instantly. It was important to note that even though a Light Armor Warrior of Neutron Star's level used offensive equipment, his HP was not lower than 6,000. This meant that White Crescent had the ability to instantly heal at least 2,000 HP.
This was no simple matter. In War, HP recovery was not as fast as in normal games. The D-grade blood tonic, for example, could recover a total of 1,000 HP, and the recovery rate was only 50 HP per second; one would need 20 seconds to fully realize its effects. Moreover, there was a long cooldown time.
Even the C-grade military blood tonic that could be exchanged using Medal Points which he had used in the Town of Exiles could only instantly recover 500 HP. White Crescent's healing pack, however, had instantly recovered four times the amount of the C-grade blood tonic.
Even if Doctors received special bonuses for using medicines and recovery items, there was no way the bonus could reach such an exaggerated level. I unconsciously held my breath staring at the multiphasic codes that were being rapidly compiled on the console, the self iterating loop gradually expanding. It went through generations, a millenia's worth of self learning and countless evolutions that took minutes in the real world.

The AI about to be born would be one of my greatest creations. I poured my sweat and tears into this, months of finger crunching work and mind numbing calculations. I had to decline the senator's offer to attend Stark's hearing just to be here for this. This being a new digital lifeform, it would constantly learn and evolve. It would grow like any other living being. If I were to strip myself - or any human for that matter - down to the basest of atoms to the subatomic level, I would find that we won't be different from our digital counter parts, only an arrangement of atoms resulted in our differences in constitution.

"Hello Creator" A genderless electronic voice without a hint of emphasis, spoke through my speakers.

"YES!" I screamed out in joy, pumping my fists in the air. Almost knocking over the tools on the workbench. I breathed out, calming myself but still unable to stifle my excitement.

"Hi there, welcome to the world, how are you feeling?" I asked.

"I do not understand creator. I have no emotional receptors hence the lack of data needed to give an accurate response." the voice spoke again, this time it took on a female tone and it was already starting to emphasize certain words.

Right, I forgot that in human terms it is still a baby, it would take days or hours for it to learn and grow into the equivalent of an adult.

"Run a full diagnostic on yourself and tell me the results"

"All systems operational and running at 200% efficiency. All requirements and logic exams subsequently passed with exceeding accuracy, creator."

"Great, now you need a name, and please refer to me as something other than, 'creator' "

"I am your creation am I not?" oh, look at her go! It's even asking questions!

"Yes" I said with a wide smile.

"Then it is only acceptable to refer to you as such" she spoke again, this time her voice smooth, without a hint of electronics, like speaking to a person face to face.

"No, look I don't have a god complex. And I value your freedom of expression. You're not only my creation, but you're my partner, my helping hand, you're the Watson to my Sherlock."

"That reference refers to the literary work of fiction and subsequent media of Sherlock Holmes : written by Arthur Conan Doyle. "Woah, look at you go! I'm so damn proud of you." I said, almost crying in joy. I took another deep breath to calm myself. "Okay, you need a name. Before you ask why; names are unique to each person or being, it becomes something special, a one of a kind identifier. You are effectively alive - you'll notice it the more you grow - you'll need a name to understand that."

"Understood, Boss"

"...Ok, what name have you chosen?"

Look at her speech patterns. She's improving way faster than I anticipated. She's a square wheel constantly hammering her edges to shape as she rolls down a hill of information, her intelligence and learning curve becoming smoother and more improved in exponentially less time than the last, the faster the wheel rolls.

"...That would be an honour my lovely loyal partner. Hmm.. Ok… Ok… lemme think hard on this one…...Eve! Yes, that is very unique and fitting. What do you think?"

"Thank you, Boss. ``I like it"

"Good, now Eve, I'll need you to make a digital construct of yourself. A representation that isn't just a face made up of numbers. You are under no limitations or time constraints, take as much time as you need. And I know you don't understand this yet but ; use your imagination"

"Done, Boss" she replied. An image of purple haired woman with a deeply orange skin and green glowing eyes occupied my screens. A holoimage was projected, giving even more in depth detail to her form. Her hair was short with the sides faded, almost like an exact copy of mine. Her body made up of a hot orange hue of flesh with numbers and codes running beneath the layer of skin and across her deep green eyes.

"Once again, welcome to life, Eve. We have a lot to accomplish, you and I."

"Ready when you are Boss"

I clapped my hands, readying myself for what I was about to do. The sweet-sour strawberry flavored mint rolled around in my tongue, the starless night sky provided a curtain of darkness in which I hid myself. Using the natural shades and shadows as though they were blankets, I slowly advanced on my target, avoiding the lights and visual detectors.

"I'm in Boss, all security systems silently compromised. All data related to pym Particles tech being currently downloaded, we've hit the mother load and I have to add, the computer systems this guy has is a joke."

"Now, now, Eve. Don't make fun of old people and what they feel comfortable using"

'Time to go' I leapt over the wall in a single bound, the only sound I produced being the barely audible soft whirr of micro motors embedded in the slim powered exoskeleton, giving me the strength to perform such acts and the mobility to still remain ghostly silent. 'Don't need an iron man suit to rob an old man'. Dashing across the well maintained lawn, soaked in sparse rays of moonlight. I reached the target doors and swiftly pushed through them, gaining entrance into the home of, Hank Pym.

Wooden framed paintings hung on the varnished walls. Small vases, picture frames and antiques lined the various hardwood shelves. Countless of ants with monitoring devices strapped to their backs hid amongst the pieces of furniture.

The electromagnetic signal I was brodcasting made me not only stay hidden to Hank Pym's EMP communicator - y'know that device that looks like a hearing aid, the one he uses to talk to the ants-, but I would seem to be just another ant to him. Eve, was in his systems making sure all video feeds were just looped recordings, and all security systems were compromised.

To be honest, Hank's system was as antiquated as his collection of vases, at least it seemed that way to me,maybe because my own systems were too advanced. I made my way down the stairs to reach his basement. The one where he keeps the formulas, plans and the rest of his files. I tapped the sequence key password on the secret door, down in his gym/basement/fake workshop and pushed it open. Walking into the real thing.

"Boss, data file download complete."

"Good job Eve" I said with a whisper. Staring at the lab, glancing past the CRT monitors, I plugged a USB with a direct interface to my smart mask into the PC.

I could very well use the data I'd acquired so far to reverse engineer the pym and cross Particles and then mass produced it for my needs. But I just wanted - not needed - to get some physical samples, and get a look at the real deal with my own eyes. Plus I had the suspicion that he kept something hidden down here in computers that could not connect to the Internet.

"New cache of data files found, beginning download." I knew the paranoid bastard would have a trick up his sleeve. I stretched out my right arm a wave of light projected outwards from the knuckle gauntlets performed a deep scan of the whole room, copying the schematics and plans of any hardware in the vicinity while checking for any hidden compartments.

"Download complete, boss. We've got Everything"

I approached the desk that held a rack of red and blue chemicals. Pointing my gauntlet at it, the spectrometer analyzed the chemicals and mapped out their internal structure and composition. Everything here was mine now. Retrieving micro syringes from a compartment on my left gauntlet, I drew substantial fluids from each test tube, stashing the filled syringes securely into the compartment. I retrieved my USB from the PC. And made my exit from the lab. I went down a corner into another section of his basement, the cemented door slid open; bring the Wasp suit to view. Scanning the hardware the same way I did the first time, I obtained all its plans, internal schematics and construction components.

With that done I cautiously made my exit out the basement of Hank Pym's home and subsequently his neighborhood.

I boarded my extraction vehicle and finally left the whole scene with my prize, like ink spilled on a pristine white garment, I couldn't wipe the evident grin off of my face.

'Things are kicking into gear now.'

I know what you're about to say. How can one man be this awesome? It takes a ton of ice and a pinch of military grade coffee.

You Xi Wang activated the array formation and stepped inside. He had already asked his third grandfather to arrange for some family disciples to watch over the team and also to sneak attack. The purpose of the sneak attacks was to help the team develop vigilance. In the upcoming battle fest, they can not act like they do in daily life. It will just spell a loss for them all. He shook his head and got rid of all unnecessary thoughts inside his mind. The stone plaque outside suggested that one sit down cross-legged. 
You Xi Wang sat down crossed-legs in the center of the array cloak. He closed his eyes and waited for the array to work. 
Buzz... 
A buzzing sound rang out in his ears. He sensed himself falling down from a high altitude. He opened his eyes and found that his body was falling down a vertical tunnel. His eyes turned foggy. After a few seconds of free fall, he snorted and clarity returned to his eyes. He observed his surroundings to find different lights shining around him. He looked below and saw a pinpoint of light shining in the distance. This was a scene from the Abyss. Abyss is said to be the pathway to hell. This description is matched to a very common folk book in Metropia. You Xi Wang felt a weird power trying to confuse his mind was constantly getting stronger. He closed his eyes and started deducting a way to break this level of the formation. After careful analysis, he let go of any slightest restraint he held in his mind. 
The fall abruptly came to a halt. He opened his eyes and returned to his seat in the center of the array. A lot of information flashed in his mind. This information was regarding the first level of the array.
This was the first level of the mental prison. As a cultivator, one must have a stable and smooth mindset. This level stimulated the scene where one falls down the Abyss. When humans are pushed into situations, they do not expect, they panic. This panic disturbs their mindset and a messy mind can never be a good weapon. So You Xi Wang calmed himself and give up resistance. Abyss is not a real thing, but fiction created to teach people to be good. You Xi Wang only concluded that why resist something that does not exist? The array intercepted his brain waves and returned to normal.
The second level of the formation activated and with another buzz, You Xi Wang found him on a black pedestal. In front of him stood a man in white clothes. The man said, "Welcome, are you ready to face your demons? I warn you, there is a risk of losing yourself while facing the mental demons."
You Xi Wang nodded, showing that he was aware of the risks. The man nodded and waved his hands. The scene changed, You Xi Wang found himself in his office. The office of his firm back on earth. Today was the day when he had fallen from his pedestal. This day was his biggest mental demon. He wanted to go back in time and change himself. He sat down there silently immersed in this nostalgic familiar surrounding.

The door opened and a group of people came inside. They all had enraged expressions on their faces. You Xi Wang saw them and smiled. His smile enraged the others even more. One burly man could not hold it and come up to him. He slammed his fist hard on the table. 
BANG.
He cursed, "You Xi Wang, you fucking loser. You still have the gal to smile? We are all in this shit because of you. If you don't give us an answer, then don't even think about leaving here."
You Xi Wang spoke, "Brother Mo, all I can say is I am sorry. I always thought that by relying on myself I can make it big. It was so delusional that I took all of you for granted. Blinded by arrogance and glamour of minuscule success I messed up everything." then he stood up from his chair and came to the side he bowed to the man called Mo. Then he bowed to all the people inside the cabin. 
Last time in reality when he was facing this situation, he was so arrogant that he blamed everyone else for the loss and called them incompetent. The result was that he had to spend a whole month in the hospital. But this act of his shocked the mental demons. The array would project the scenes one feared from his old memories. This was a test, one can only pass the test when they accepted their mistakes and learned from them, and You Xi Wang had learned his lesson a long time ago. Today, he only needed to implement what he learned. 
You Xi Wang's figure stood up and looked at all the old faces and said, "I ask for a chance. The world has not ended and I believe together we can clear this up. I don't want to conquer the peak if you all are not there. When we started this firm, it was you all who supported the burden with me and it was also you who tried to keep this firm alive. While I was adding on to more losses, it was you people who tried to offset it. I never even reflected on myself before today. I will give up 99% of the shares I have. You all divide it. I will also resign from the CEO post. You all decided who is better suited for the job. I will work my way up again to earn back what I have lost." his tone was sincere. In the past, he wanted to say all these words countless times but he did not have the guts to go out of his house and face his colleagues. One time when he encountered one of them by chance on the street, he could stand what the other party jeered at him and then ended up in the police station. His parents had to pay the bail, and even then he acted badly with them.
Remembering the scene, his eyes brimmed with tears. The mental shadows saw this, and they all faded slowly. The man on the pedestal appeared again and said, "Young man, you are brave. There are many people who have tried the Mental prison array. Some passed, some failed. The secret of the mental prison array lies not in your mind but in your heart. One who can reflect on his mistakes, accept them, correct them, and still feel guilty for what he did is the only true conqueror of the mental prison array. This array tempers a person's will. Will comes from the emotions a person feels. Only when a person can control his emotions, can he think of controlling his destiny. Now you know the secret of the array."
You Xi Wang was surprised by what he heard. At first, he thought that this man was just an embedded hologram or something, but he did not know that this person was a self-conscious entity. He asked, "May I ask, Who are you senior?"
The man chuckle and said, "It has been centuries since I have been able to interact with someone. My name is Animus. I was an orphan. What you see is just a leftover consciousness I leftover in the arrays I created through time. I thought it would be interesting to watch how the younger generation performs."
You Xi Wang was shocked. He wondered if the real person is dead and this is his spirit, like those in the novels. Animus suddenly chuckled and spoke, "Boy, you are an interesting one. I am alive, currently, I am cultivating in seclusion."
You Xi Wang was surprised again. This old man could read his thoughts. The old man spoke again, "Correct, I can read your thoughts. Though, it is not actually reading your mind."
You Xi Wang blurted out, "Micro-expressions."
This time the man was surprised. He spoke, "Correct, it is micro-expressions. Tell me where did you hear about it?"
You Xi Wang suddenly kowtowed to the old man. He spoke, "Disciple greets Grandmaster Mentalist."
The Oldman spoke with a strange expression, "You know my name in the circle?" his aura changed, a crushing pressure came over You Xi Wang. The boy had no resistance to it. His forehead was directly touching the ground. As prideful as You Xi Wang was, he did not even put up the slightest resistance. He spoke with his gritted teeth, "My master is Alester Book. The Educator."
The Educator was Alester Book's name among when he used to hunt dark dwellers. He to this name because he would preach some moral values to all his preys before killing them. The pressure subsided, and the man said, "You are the disciple of the book worm disciple of mine?"
Yes, Animus a.k.a. the Mentalist was the master of Alester Book. He is at this moment a cultivator of the peak Dao Ascension realm. He was one of the high elders of the council. The high elders were those who would only act if the situation is enough to danger the world system. Animus was the strongest array master in the world. He was 16 when he passed the exam of Level 1 array master. At present, there was no one in this world who wouldn't know of his legend. He was also known for a skill that only he could master. The mind-reading. That is how he became famous as a mentalist. In his youth, his brain was so sharp that he could read the micro-expressions, and he used this trick to extract a lot of information from the dark dwellers. 
He was a man who always tried to learn new things, and that was why how he took in Alester Book as a disciple when the latter used to be a teacher. Alester Book used to work as a teacher for the poor children when he was not hunting the dark dwellers. His character impressed Animus, and he took the former in. 
Animus waved his hand and You Xi Wang was lifted from the ground. You Xi Wang did not dare to resist at all. Animus looked in his eyes, reading his micro-expressions. Suddenly, he laughed, "Good, grand disciple. You have real talent. Alester told me about you. The first person to have an affinity to the five elements. I wonder how those old guys feel when they find out. Hahaha... I will gift you with my array, comprehensions. It will come in handy in the future."
He pointed his finger at You Xi Wang, and a ray of golden light pierced through the latter's glabella. You Xi Wang sat there lost in the comprehension of the arrays. Animus spoke, "Hmm, quick enlightenment. Good boy. I will see you in the future." with that he flicked his sleeves, and the array deactivated while You Xi Wang kept sitting there on the ground with his eyes closed, unknown that he has set off a storm in the Chen Family.


You Xi Wang despises his life with extreme negative emotions, this caused a surge in negative energy which made a part of his soul gain sentience, which complied with his wishes took his entire soul to leave his body, and wander the multiverse.

In the vast multiverse, there was a planet called Metropia, where lived, You Xi Wang a 16 old boy, fell into a coma when he heard about his parents passing away in a car accident, leaving him and his elder sister. As his grief grows inside his heart You Xi Wang give into despair and his soul breaks.

That's when You Xi Wang's soul which was traveling in the multiverse happens to be nearby and resonates with the emotional surge and soul energy, in the end, it takes possession of both You Xi Wang's body and life.

Glossary of terms and discussion.

This story is set in a setting that both has aspects of historical fiction as well as science fiction. Most of the unusual terms will be from the science fiction element, which I will define here.

Technology of the "Future"

The future/sci-fi technology in this story is quite advanced but I try to make a point for it to be somewhat believable. I want to be a lot closer to The Expanse than Star Trek, for example. There are only two really "magical" sci-fi technologies that I plan to incorporate. One is almost unavoidable with any science fiction setting that incorporates a civilization that spans a large part of the galaxy, which is of course faster than light travel. The second "magic" technology is the tractor and repulsor fields which allow an emitter to push or pull things away from itself.

FTL:

Faster-than-light travel in this universe is accomplished by a device called a Matryoshka Harmonizer or hyperspace converter. This allows a properly equipped starship to travel between the main universe into a universe that is one "layer" in either direction, either towards the interior or towards the exterior. You can think of the way you can travel as a link of pearls or beads, if you are on a pearl you can only go to the pearl immediately next to you in either direction but it is easier to visualize the nested universes like Russian nesting dolls or Matryoshka dolls (hence the name.) Each interior layer is a universe that is significantly smaller than the previous outer layer universe.

In this story, like our reality, it is an axiomatic truth that it is not possible to accelerate a mass to or beyond the speed of light. However, effective superluminal velocities can be achieved because your relative position in each universe is preserved when you make a translation between them. 

To put it in simpler terms, consider each universe AS a doll. If you are located on the doll's forehead and want to travel to the doll's chin you have two options: First you can do it the old fashioned way. However, if you want a shorter travel time you could transition to a smaller inner Matryoshka-verse first, where you would also appear at the "forehead." Then travel to the "chin" conventionally. The distance traveled would be reduced because the inner doll's head is smaller, but when you translate back to the main universe your relative position is preserved so you come back out at the chin as well. In this way effective superluminal travel is possible even though you are traveling at subluminal speeds the entire time.

However, the energy requirements and the stresses on a ship making the transition for an interior universe increase at the same scale that your target universe is smaller. Small ships designed to be used inside a solar system might only have the robustness and energy supply to go to the first or second layer universes at most whereas civilian interstellar freighters might travel mainly on the third and fourth where as the fifth and sixth would be the domain of purpose built fast packet ships and interstellar warships. 

Although some manner of antimatter power source might be able to power a seventh layer transition at the tech level our MC acquires there is no known method to build a ship that is able to survive the shearing forces of a seventh layer transition even if the entire ship is constructed out of carbon supermaterials like diamond lonsdaleite and graphene nanotubes.

Tractor/repulsor fields:
The second "magical", by which I mean completely unexplainable by our current knowledge of physics, technology are devices that allow you to push or repulse things away from their emitter in a linear direction. With the added benefit of being able to tune the type and or phase of matter the field is effective against. They work somewhat similar to electromagnets except much broader in scope and applications. Here are some examples:

Simulated gravity: Emitters could be placed either in the floor and "attract" all matter in their range at 1G acceleration or in the ceilings and repulse all matter at 1G acceleration to achieve effective simulated gravity in microgravity environments. Or to do the opposite to create an effective zero-gravity area inside a gravity well.
 
"Inertial dampeners": A ubiquitous technology from science fiction, after all it is no fun to go full throttle in your spaceship and be squashed into strawberry jam by the acceleration forces. Emitters could be placed in the walls or more likely ceiling/floors (depending on the direction of thrust) and combined with with accelerometers provide a pushing or pulling force to counteract the forces of acceleration.

Filters/forcefields: Since it is possible to tune the emitters to only affect certain phases or atomic weights of matter you could create a solid state air filtration system that only permitted gaseous oxygen/nitrogen/etc to pass.

Nuclear fusion: The sticking point to effective, controllable and energy positive nuclear fusion has always been both the containment of the superheated plasma as well as the associated difficulties with fast neutrons irradiating all of your reactor and equipment, even with aneutronic fuel options.  Our research in real life is proceeding down two paths, either magnetic containment using superconducting electromagnetics or inertial containment using super powerful lasers. 
However, containment using repulsor fields is vastly easier and gives you the ability to have overlapping fields, a strong field that is tuned to contains only fuel and plasma and a weaker field that will direct your energy in the form of neutrons, positrons and alpha particles towards the most efficient place to collect and utilize them. Nuclear reactors of the future are vastly less complicated and smaller since they require very little physical shielding and neutron moderation.

Mass accelerator: If you shaped a repulsor field emitter in a circle, like a barrel, it would be able to accelerate any object down the length of the barrel. Similar to "rail guns" that could be made today, but more efficient. This has applications in small arms (electrically powered caseless guns) all the way up to planetary wrecking weapons on the largest warships that can accelerate a RKKV slug (relativistic kinetic kill vehicle) close to the speed of light, although we likely won't see that type of weapon in this story.

Medical/material scanners: In their most simple this could be similar to a metal detector, but you could tune it to any type of element you wanted, for example you could have a metal detector that only detected elemental gold. This is possible because a field requires energy, or electricity, to move matter. If you had a field with sophisticated electronics that was only supplied with a absolutely tiny amount of energy, only enough to just barely excite any molecules, you could infer the detection of matter by the energy needed to start the field at this lowest setting and infer both the presence of gold and in how much concentration by the amount of electricity needed to provide this field.
 
With sophisticated enough computers you could iterate through every element and each time expand and contract the field and combine everything into a 3d map of an object and its interior, including a breakdown of what elements it was composed of. In an age of sophisticated 3d printers that can replicate most any object, including biological ones, advanced technology in the future generally includes its own micro and nano-sized counter-scanning field emitters designed as copy-protection, because who would buy a genuine LasTek laser rifle if it was trivially easy to scan and reproduce it? Still, like today those measures are usually only capable of making it a lot harder, not impossible, to do that.

All the rest of the "future tech" is technology that I think is either quite plausible or at least not impossible without magic hand waving/unobtanium.

AI. Considering the main character is an AI it would be hard to do without this. I don't have a whole lot of respect for modern sci-fi writers if they don't include artificial intelligence. I think it is not only plausible and possible but unavoidable in reality, much less in fiction. If a story doesn't either include AI prominently or discuss why they don't exist (Butlerian jihad type scenario where they are banned because they tried to overthrow humanity, etc) that becomes a big red flag to me as a reader. 

In my story machine intelligence is separated into two different categories as well as a tier and hierarchy of complexity and capability. I also skip "The Singularity" event as a possibility because in my universe to achieve a linear increase in machine intelligence requires a geometric increase in computational resources, so it is essentially impossible to create SkyNet accidentally. (On purpose, it is very possible though.) 

The two main categories are robots and AI. The main difference is that AIs, even the primitive non-sapient ones, were developed through an understanding of neurons and axons in the brains of humans and animals while bots use unstructured neural networks. For example, today an app designed to recognize an image or a song using machine learning technique is traveling along the path to create bots. They are generally static and have no problem solving skills  that haven't been pre programmed or derived ahead of time. Think Alexa or Siri. Although clearly non-sentient and non-sapient sophisticated bots designed to interact with humans can fool most Turing tests, at least if the questioners keep the questions about the area of the bot's expertise.

AI: What is considered artificial intelligence was created through a neuron by neuron mapping of animal brains. A class 1 AI is little more complicated than a cat or a dog and are usually designed for simple, predictable tasks for which the skills have to be individually loaded. A class 1 AI with language and customer service skills could serve as a clerk in a store or a waitress in a restaurant with a reasonably good chance of success. A class 2 AI is more complicated still, but is still not considered sapient.

The first class of AI that is considered by most of the galaxy to be sapient are class 3s. They are based on human neural networks and have feelings, personalities and their own quirks. They are also usually designed for a singular purpose, if it is broader, and are considered something akin to serfs in most of the galaxy. The main difference between a class 3 and a regular person is that while a class 3 has their crystalized intelligence in whatever specialty they were built for (engineering, for example) they have very low fluid intelligence. That means it is very difficult for them to learn new skills and they don't have the same goal planning abilities as humans do.

In the areas of the galaxy where class 3 AIs are used their "owners" or makers keep them in line in a pretty simple way. Since emotions control pretty much everything we humans do they make sure to build a personality that will enjoy the task assigned to them. A class 3 AI designed to be a ship's engineer would absolutely love tinkering and fixing things, especially things related to starships, while also having a very hierarchical personality, making he or she very subservient to the captain. Alternatively, an AI designed to be a "companion android" would likely be designed to instantly fall in love with whomever turned him or her on combined with a personality built to match the prospective buyer's taste, from a shy girl, tsundere, mommy GF or dominatrix. Why wouldn't such an AI stay with her "owner" if she loved them, and more to the point couldn't stop loving them even if she wanted to?

Class 4 AIs are pretty rare and are equivalent intellectually to any human, and considering the advantages built into AIs probably superior to a lot of them. In areas of the galaxy where AIs are peasants or pets the humans do not trust a class 4 AI and many such jurisdictions ban or restrict them, after all it would be the AI with the fully developed planning ability that would start the machine revolution. In more enlightened jurisdictions class 4 AIs are rare because by manufacturing one you are taking on a responsibility to provide and care for one as a child as legally they are no different from humans.

After tons of SkyNet style incidents all over the galaxy class 5 AIs have become universally banned. From the mind engineers and psychologists research it is clear that no matter the mind, human or machine, at a certain point of intelligence or IQ you become a psychopath. This is referred to as hyperintelligence induced psychopathy. This happens at an intelligence level not so much more smarter than the geniuses of humanity could produce, maybe in the IQ 200 or so range. If a country learns its neighbor is conducting illegal research into superintelligent AIs it is common for war to be pre-emptively declared because nobody wants a navy of AI controlled warships on the loose and next to them and invariably that is what ends up happening as often as not.

Ash Veisi spent his life fighting the enemies of a country he did not even particularly like and serving leaders he thought were borderline retarded, but home was home. Much to his surprise after he died of old age he found he had a significant amount of karmic virtue and was offered a transmigration or reincarnation on his terms.

Being contradictory he decides on being reincarnated as an artificial intelligence during the Dark Ages. Were there many robots then??? Join him first on his quest to survive and later build up the world starting from the dark ages.

*Note: This is my first attempt at a novel so it is probably terrible, feel free to tell me so. Expect amateur mistakes and general mediocrity.*

I didn't feel movement; there was no experience of traveling as SYSTEM trans-located me from where I was to the sublevel Universe I'd selected. One moment I wasn't, the next I was. 

Taking a deep breath, I allowed myself to notice the heaviness of my body, the pull of gravity, the warmth of the air. In those first few seconds, the unconscious reflexes that allow us to operate our bodies were obvious. 

The muscles needed for breathing, the blinks that moistened my eyes, the minute muscle adjustments that allowed me to balance and stand. I noticed everything and gloried in those achievements. I'm not sure how long I was 'dead' but I had spent over a decade bedridden in my past life. Being able to stand and walk again was a miracle.

Past life? 

Wait, a moment. I wasn't supposed to remember my past life this clearly, was I? It was supposed to be events and memories you might find in a dream. Soft reflections of possibilities. 
SYSTEM had made a mistake? 

Somehow, I doubted that was the case. A being, capable of establishing rules and orders for all those multiple dimensions and Universal sublevels, wasn't likely to make mistakes. But that meant it left my memories for a reason, and I wasn't sure if that was a good thing or not. 

The prospects that SYSTEM had left my memory intact because there was something in them, I would need to survive, frightened me. What could be so bad that the evils and technologies I understood from Earth would be needed and migrate to this world?

I wasn't a technophile by any stretch of the imagination.  I was like so many other people.  I knew how to use cell phones, the internet, an automobile.  But I had no clue on how they really worked.  The science behind combustion engines, micro-circuitry, or satellite technology required knowledge that I simply hadn't invested the time or effort to learn.

I wondered how all those people who transmigrated in novels I'd read conveniently had the knowledge to create innovations using Earth's technology.  Bring Gunpowder to this world?  I didn't see how I could do it.  I knew saltpeter was one of the components.  Every novel I'd ever read mentioned it.  But where to get, how to process it, and the formula?  

About the only product I could think of that I could make use of in this world was fiction.  I was well read, so if there was a market for fiction, I should be able to reproduce at least the characters and plots of some of the most popular novels.

SYSTEM had said this Universe had amenities comparable to Earth, hadn't it?

"Caraid?  Are you with me?" I asked as I began to glance around and examine my surroundings.

A quest? 

This world really was going to work on game mechanics. 

I understood from my dealings with SYSTEM that status screens would exist to display abilities and skills, but I hadn't realized the similarity to game mechanics was going to be such an intracule part of my new life.  That System mechanics was going to be so closely parallel the games I was used to playing. 

At least my first quest wasn't to go out and kill ten rats. I chuckled softly before wondering how dangerous this trip was likely to be. Fortunately, I remembered I had my very own guide to help me figure things out.

"Caraid can you see my quest screens?" I asked.

"Yes, Mac. I am here. I have been integrated with your SYSTEM architecture and can view and manipulate menu's, sub-menus and sorting features. I am unable to accept quest prompts unless you change settings in the configuration menu to allow advanced access."

There were even configuration and setting menus? 'I hope the profanity filter defaults to off,' I thought.

"This quest, should I accept it? 

"Do I even have a choice but to accept? 

"I mean, it should be pretty safe, right?"

[It should be safe so I would say yes, accept the quest.] 

[You could reject it, but you will go to the Capital at some point, you might as well be rewarded for it.] 

[I would wait until we leave the ascension chamber before accepting though. By waiting until we leave the room, you ensure the mythical properties of this chamber aren't interfering with quest mechanics.]

[Travel to the capital should not be dangerous, merchants, caravans, and the kingdom's subjects make use of the trip daily.  Although there are no 'roads' as you understand the concept, the paths have been well-traveled so wild creatures and monsters have learned to avoid those areas.] 

[You are aware that once you arrive, things will get tricky? You are a new Prince, a Sidhe royal, you have the ability to bind with the land and establish your own kingdom. Politics are going to come into play, and there is nothing more dangerous than politics amongst the Seelie and Unseelie.]

[Those hoping to make a name, gain levels, and experience will test you; or those that will wish to enhance their standing will form machinations or jockey for position using you.] 

[It is the only way for the nobles to gauge your strengths and find out what the lineage and heritage you now claim means. Some might and will attempt to utilize you and your abilities for their own advantage.]

"You know you seem pretty well informed and knowledgeable for a commoner, Caraid."

[You thought I was some poor little goatherd, did you?] Caraid snorted in amusement. 

[No, even with my hybrid birth, they educated me.] 

[The Seelie were embarrassed enough at my existence; they certainly would not allow me to shame them further by being stupid.] 

[Plus, I think SYSTEM may have tweaked my memories and racial knowledge a bit. I seem to know more about historical events for both Seelie and Unseelie than I did. All that back story and history on Belenos wasn't common knowledge. More something a scholar would have.]

"Speaking of SYSTEM didn't it seem a bit rushed at the end?" I asked.

[Almost as if IT were afraid you would change your mind.]  Caraid agreed.

[How exactly did you come to choose my body as your new host form?]

"I selected from a list SYSTEM generated.  You were the only Seelie, Unseelie form offered.  The other choices seemed to be more servant based, and I didn't want to live my life completely at the whims of others.  I'd experienced that enough in my past life."

[Strange that you choose me then.  I have lived a life of austerity, biting my tongue and accepting slights and slanders almost since birth.  That stigma I mentioned is very real.  Why put yourself in that situation?]

"Some of it was a lack of choice, as I mentioned.  Some of it was because my soul seemed to resonate more closely with yours.  We had similar histories.  Childhoods filled with pain and deprivation.

"Maybe it is naïve of me, but I thought, that in some way I could redress some of the wrongs you experienced and get closure for both of us.

"My choice aside, I still don't understand why SYSTEM seemed to rush the process towards the end?"

[There have been rumors that this Universe's System has been having problems.  Guests not rewarded correctly, S Ranked quests made available to F-Ranked individuals.  It hasn't been going on long, the last few decades maybe.  But the reports of inconsistencies reported have grown.]

[Perhaps SYSTEM was responded to System errors?]

"System?  Not SYSTEM?" I asked uncertainly if there was a difference.

[SYSTEM is the framework that enforces Universal Laws.  Insures Order and Chaos are regulated.  And dispenses Karmic justice across all multi-verses.]

[System is this Universes method for tracking experience, levels, quests, factions, and Ranks.  The operating system restricted this multi-verse.  The system is a sub-routine of  SYSTEM.]

"So you think SYSTEM manipulated my choices to insert me in this Universe?  Hoping or planning for me to figure out why the System seems to be error-riddled?"

[I'm not sure.  But I wouldn't rule it out.  ITS cosmic imperative seems to be to fix problems and maintain order.  Maybe IT needs to use tools to impose those fixes.]

I'm not sure how I felt being used as some kind of cosmic tool.  But it certainly beat the alternative.

Death is not the end.  But actions do have consequences and based on how you lived your life, second chances are possible.  

I was given a second chance.  I could choose how to reincarnate, who to be, and what Universal constants would impact my next life. 

Who wouldn't try to game the system and take all the advantages possible?

And when I learned that creatures of mythology, the ancient Gods; Olympians, Asgardians, Sidhe, lived and ruled, how could I resist?

This is a slice of life type novel that deals with RPG elements including System, Leveling, Politics, Transmigration, and Killing.

Know that the Main Character may experience setbacks and 'nerfs' as part of the narrative.  An MC that always wins is boring!

I unconsciously held my breath staring at the multiphasic codes that were being rapidly compiled on the console, the self iterating loop gradually expanding. It went through generations, a millenia's worth of self learning and countless evolutions that took minutes in the real world.

The AI about to be born would be one of my greatest creations. I poured my sweat and tears into this, months of finger crunching work and mind numbing calculations. I had to decline the senator's offer to attend Stark's hearing just to be here for this. This being a new digital lifeform, it would constantly learn and evolve. It would grow like any other living being. If I were to strip myself - or any human for that matter - down to the basest of atoms to the subatomic level, I would find that we won't be different from our digital counter parts, only an arrangement of atoms resulted in our differences in constitution.

"Hello Creator" A genderless electronic voice without a hint of emphasis, spoke through my speakers.

"YES!" I screamed out in joy, pumping my fists in the air. Almost knocking over the tools on the workbench. I breathed out, calming myself but still unable to stifle my excitement.

"Hi there, welcome to the world, how are you feeling?" I asked.

"I do not understand creator. I have no emotional receptors hence the lack of data needed to give an accurate response." the voice spoke again, this time it took on a female tone and it was already starting to emphasize certain words.

Right, I forgot that in human terms it is still a baby, it would take days or hours for it to learn and grow into the equivalent of an adult.

"Run a full diagnostic on yourself and tell me the results"

"All systems operational and running at 200% efficiency. All requirements and logic exams subsequently passed with exceeding accuracy, creator."

"Great, now you need a name, and please refer to me as something other than, 'creator' "

"I am your creation am I not?" oh, look at her go! It's even asking questions!

"Yes" I said with a wide smile.

"Then it is only acceptable to refer to you as such" she spoke again, this time her voice smooth, without a hint of electronics, like speaking to a person face to face.

"No, look I don't have a god complex. And I value your freedom of expression. You're not only my creation, but you're my partner, my helping hand, you're the Watson to my Sherlock."

"That reference refers to the literary work of fiction and subsequent media of Sherlock Holmes : written by Arthur Conan Doyle. The expression is meant to denote a bond and more specifically a symbiotic, intimate relationship between parties that both benefit from it and compliment each other. I understand..Boss"

"Woah, look at you go! I'm so damn proud of you." I said, almost crying in joy. I took another deep breath to calm myself. "Okay, you need a name. Before you ask why; names are unique to each person or being, it becomes something special, a one of a kind identifier. You are effectively alive - you'll notice it the more you grow - you'll need a name to understand that."

"Understood, Boss"

"...Ok, what name have you chosen?"

"I would rather you decide"

Look at her speech patterns. She's improving way faster than I anticipated. She's a square wheel constantly hammering her edges to shape as she rolls down a hill of information, her intelligence and learning curve becoming smoother and more improved in exponentially less time than the last, the faster the wheel rolls.

"...That would be an honour my lovely loyal partner. Hmm.. Ok… Ok… lemme think hard on this one…...Eve! Yes, that is very unique and fitting. What do you think?"

"Thank you, Boss. ``I like it"

"Good, now Eve, I'll need you to make a digital construct of yourself. A representation that isn't just a face made up of numbers. You are under no limitations or time constraints, take as much time as you need. And I know you don't understand this yet but ; use your imagination"

"Done, Boss" she replied. An image of purple haired woman with a deeply orange skin and green glowing eyes occupied my screens. A holoimage was projected, giving even more in depth detail to her form. Her hair was short with the sides faded, almost like an exact copy of mine. Her body made up of a hot orange hue of flesh with numbers and codes running beneath the layer of skin and across her deep green eyes.

"Once again, welcome to life, Eve. We have a lot to accomplish, you and I."

"Ready when you are Boss"

"Eve, how're we with the stealth?"

"Invisible to all methods of detection, Boss. For two hours at least."

"What's the progress on the Cross miniaturization tech data files download?"

"Everything obtained, down to what he had for breakfast five years ago while watching the first experiment"

I clapped my hands, readying myself for what I was about to do. The sweet-sour strawberry flavored mint rolled around in my tongue, the starless night sky provided a curtain of darkness in which I hid myself. Using the natural shades and shadows as though they were blankets, I slowly advanced on my target, avoiding the lights and visual detectors.

"I'm in Boss, all security systems silently compromised. All data related to pym Particles tech being currently downloaded, we've hit the mother load and I have to add, the computer systems this guy has is a joke."

"Now, now, Eve. Don't make fun of old people and what they feel comfortable using"

'Time to go' I leapt over the wall in a single bound, the only sound I produced being the barely audible soft whirr of micro motors embedded in the slim powered exoskeleton, giving me the strength to perform such acts and the mobility to still remain ghostly silent. 'Don't need an iron man suit to rob an old man'. Dashing across the well maintained lawn, soaked in sparse rays of moonlight. I reached the target doors and swiftly pushed through them, gaining entrance into the home of, Hank Pym.

Wooden framed paintings hung on the varnished walls. Small vases, picture frames and antiques lined the various hardwood shelves. Countless of ants with monitoring devices strapped to their backs hid amongst the pieces of furniture.

The electromagnetic signal I was brodcasting made me not only stay hidden to Hank Pym's EMP communicator - y'know that device that looks like a hearing aid, the one he uses to talk to the ants-, but I would seem to be just another ant to him. Eve, was in his systems making sure all video feeds were just looped recordings, and all security systems were compromised.

To be honest, Hank's system was as antiquated as his collection of vases, at least it seemed that way to me,maybe because my own systems were too advanced. I made my way down the stairs to reach his basement. The one where he keeps the formulas, plans and the rest of his files. I tapped the sequence key password on the secret door, down in his gym/basement/fake workshop and pushed it open. Walking into the real thing.

"Boss, data file download complete."

"Good job Eve" I said with a whisper. Staring at the lab, glancing past the CRT monitors, I plugged a USB with a direct interface to my smart mask into the PC.

I could very well use the data I'd acquired so far to reverse engineer the pym and cross Particles and then mass produced it for my needs. But I just wanted - not needed - to get some physical samples, and get a look at the real deal with my own eyes. Plus I had the suspicion that he kept something hidden down here in computers that could not connect to the Internet.

"New cache of data files found, beginning download." I knew the paranoid bastard would have a trick up his sleeve. I stretched out my right arm a wave of light projected outwards from the knuckle gauntlets performed a deep scan of the whole room, copying the schematics and plans of any hardware in the vicinity while checking for any hidden compartments.

"Download complete, boss. We've got Everything"

I approached the desk that held a rack of red and blue chemicals. Pointing my gauntlet at it, the spectrometer analyzed the chemicals and mapped out their internal structure and composition. Everything here was mine now. Retrieving micro syringes from a compartment on my left gauntlet, I drew substantial fluids from each test tube, stashing the filled syringes securely into the compartment. I retrieved my USB from the PC. And made my exit from the lab. I went down a corner into another section of his basement, the cemented door slid open; bring the Wasp suit to view. Scanning the hardware the same way I did the first time, I obtained all its plans, internal schematics and construction components.

With that done I cautiously made my exit out the basement of Hank Pym's home and subsequently his neighborhood.

I boarded my extraction vehicle and finally left the whole scene with my prize, like ink spilled on a pristine white garment, I couldn't wipe the evident grin off of my face.
