"...Oh man, there is no food in the fridge. I better get some food in the convenience store today." I murmured to myself as I reluctantly go outside my house to get some food in the convenience store.

Today is really the worst day of my life. Firstly, I am being expelled by the school because I am being accused for doing sexual harassment on my female classmates. 

I didn't even do a thing to my female classmates when all I do at that time was accidentally trip and fondle the boobs of my classmate. 

It is not even my fault, the class bully tripped me using his leg and worst of all he recorded the damn thing as a false evidence except the tripping thing.

I knew it was a bad idea to go to that elite school full of idols and beautiful people. I am pretty much an ugly, fat and smelly guy but noo I choose that school because it is near my house. Stupid me, I am really really stupid.

Secondly, I have to go outside the house to get some food. It is summer and it is too hot to go outside right now. As a NEET and a loner, summer heat is the worse enemy.

Hey, don't judge me. That is the ways of a NEET and a loner code. You can't violate the code (selfmade code). 

Jokes aside, I am very frustrated and disappointed at that school. I keep on telling them the reason of that accident but noo the class bully get in the way again.

He makes false testaments and with false witnesses's testaments to school principal. He even convince the victim to make a false statement to the school principal. 

He even show the video to the school principal. I swear I see him, the false witnesses and even the school principal smirking at me in disdain like accomplices in crime. 

At that time, I finally understood what is happening. What I thought at that time, 'So that's why huh, they are going to make me expelled. Am I really a hindrance for them?'.

It was at that moment, I knew I f*ck up. It was a setup made by them to ensure that I really f*ck up and be expelled by the school.

The school principal then started scolding me about why this elite school is an elite school, how they value discipline and blah blah blah. How that class bully do not lie while the class bully just smirk scornfully at me. 

All I can hear about that is some crap filled scolding, mixed within it are some personal satisfaction and scorn as they are trying to embarrass me in front of the school.

They are even trying to make me apologize to that bastard while recording and filming it. I didn't give in to their embarrasment though, not even apology was sent to them which make them angry and make me expelled. 

I can't really do anything about it as firstly I don't have any power on me whatsoever. I am a middle-class man and an orphan at that. And secondly, I rely on gaming and streaming as ways to earn money.

Nothing noteworthy at all. Welp, I guess it can't be help. There is no point on crying over a spilt milk. 

But there is one thing I really want to say to them, if they plan on a setup at least I really want them to expelled me at the middle of the school year not nearing end of the school year! Why on earth did you do that! 

I mean come on, at least I can enjoy my expulsion longer in the middle of the school year than in nearly end of the school year. At least I have time to find another school that can accept me at least that is the true reason. (Author: Not really, he just wants to get lazy.) 

As I thought about school while walking in to the convenience store, I buy what I want from the store mainly foods and drinks.

After getting out of store with bought foods and drinks, I immediately go to my house.

"I'm home" I said to myself even though I live by myself. 

I made my way to the kitchen, storing my bought food and drinks to the refrigerator. I then prepare to cook food as I was starting to think about my life.

In my home, I just live by myself. Trying to earn money by playing video games while streaming videos online. Despite that I can actually live by myself without striken with poverty. 

Before this, I was living in the orphanage. Nothing much to note, I just hate living there so I change places when I turn 15 years old. Now I am 18 years old this year.

After I finish my dinner, I immediately go to my bedroom hurriedly to watch anime, read manga and playing video games. Same old routine for the past years but I never quench this NEET and loner's heart.

I gonna pull an all - nighter so that I can forget those bastards. I really really need a break now and then. I hate them for trying to bully me for being an ugly man. I know that school are full of idols and beautiful people but do they really need to expelled me that much because I am ugly?

Ugh, whatever I am just gonna do what I want to do the most by being a NEET and loner for the rest of my life. Uhmm, it is kinda sad when I think about it. Nah, it is j-just my imagination. Huh? Why is there water streaming out from my eyes, there must be something on my eyes perhaps? I am not crying (author: yes you are 😋). Yep definitely not crying and I am totally sure I am not (Author: Sure whatever you say 🙄).

As I kept watching anime, my vision suddenly darkens. All I see around me is total darkness and all of a sudden the light in my house opens up.

"What happen?" I whisper to myself as I was confuse with what happen earlier.

"It probably just my imagination." I said to myself as I scoff of it as a imagination. " I should probably sleep, maybe it was a lack of sleep that I am imagining things?" I whisper as I reluctantly sleep for my beauty rest.

As I sleep, I didn't notice something has change outside my house. Which change from the residential area into a high technology area surrounding the house and forest wild life with no animals in sight.

Who was I before? I was in the womb of my mother before 9/11, frankly she never did tell me that much about it until I was 11 years old and as time went on, I started getting these familiar feelings that wasn't mine to begin with, now here I am as a Senior slowly trying to find my purpose so I can continue with this life and find closure. In order to do that, I would have to go back and find who I was before.

Chapter One•The Kid

I don't exactly know who I was before or what drove me to drugs, but I know what happened and what I did to myself was terrible, so this is my story well from my past life, I'm guessing on account of the flashbacks. When I was a child, I remember my parents constantly fighting to the point that I would stay in my closet, I remember having a brother named Jim, he never really helped me with anything really. I remember spending my childhood in fear and when I ran, it felt like I could run anywhere, one thing that somehow helped me get through it was listening to The Beatles or The Eagles on my Cassette player. I wanna say that maybe I was your average girl born in the 70s, Middle School going into high school, but before I was shy. I didn't know how to exactly talk to people since I was very closed in as a child, I never really talked to anyone because I was taught about social skills, guess that carried on into this life right, shocker there. Anyways, this film, The Shining came out then, that was when I knew that I wanted to be an actress for horror movies, but all that changed when I didn't get a part in a play when I was 10 years old, so I just gave up and continued on with life. I remember when Saturday Night Fever was hot during the late 70s, every girl was screaming for John Travolta because then, he was our Christian Slater, hell even I had a massive crush on Christian too. I dreamed of the day to dance with John in that club, he looked like an angel on that disco floor, it was like he could dance on the clouds of the dance floors in heaven and the angels would beg to wanna dance with him all night long and all day, at that time when I told my mother, she laughed at my dream then because she said by then, dance would be out and obesity would set in. I was only 8 years old and I was terrified of gaining weight, so I would do exercise videos and a year later, Grease was a hot new musical with John Travolta and Jeff Conoway, John was a step closer to Elvis Presley and that was what made him dreamy. At that time, I wanted a guy who was going to sweep me off my feet, a bad boy who was gonna be up for absolutely anything that was gonna get us in trouble but we wouldn't have to worry about it as long as we were sneaky enough. I believe as a child, I never really did much except watching TV which we didn't have cable, so we just ended up renting movies which is exhausting and some of the time, we didn't even have movies to rent, so it was just home videos and they were god awful boring. When I went up to Middle school, that was the beginning of my hell years began.

I didn't talk to anyone in my 6th Grade year, I guess what the teachers called it was severe anxiety, today it would just be considered anxiety, they were trying to figure out on how I can cope with this, their first thought was to take medication to keep my anxiety down before I go into shock. When my mother found out, she was not very happy with it, but she also knew that if she got mad at me for it, it would just make everything worse, you see I was only a kid, I was only trying to find my way through life and especially how to cope with shit like this then. Basically when you're a pre-teen and headed off to middle school, it'll feel like you're being thrown with the sharks when really….you're just in the pond of fishes with nowhere to go, but to get picked off one by one as soon as you go to High School, but we're not gonna head there just yet. Let's say New York is the worst place to grow up, especially when you're on the borderline of the bad side and the good side, and do you wanna know what my name used to be? You can't know because even I don't know, but my name currently is Sabrina Jensen-Radcliffe, but normally I go by Sabrina Jensen and I live in Seattle, Washington.

      Before heading off to school I had breakfast with my father,he was one of those people in our town who became a military soldier and earned his way into this paradise, his name is Scott; he is short,has broad shoulders, has blue eyes and an incredible physique that left ladies lining up the door for him. I can't say the same for me. Scott's appearance was quite compelling and his heart was in the right place.
      He used to tell me story of my mother, Carol, who died when I was just seven years, he said she was the most beautiful woman he ever saw and was being chased by every man that laid eyes on her. She saw something else in him that was inimitable. I long for those days when
she was still alive, when everything was so simple.
    As I walked out of that door I thought to myself this might yet be the best years of my life before I head off to college. When I finally reached Sunny high as I looked around the premises I knew that this was indeed a new territory and it would be hard making allies, I was very nervous.
      I immediately spotted my crowd and by the looks of it they were about to start our orientation. The school was magnificent from the halls to the class rooms. Every student that I passed by was bigger than the last, as I lost my breath from all the pressure of fitting in, I thought to myself how many ways I could get eaten alive by this maniacs but through logics and proper thinking it was clear what
was the worst that could happen. It was over and I was now released into the lion's den with no weapons but my wits and kind of my boyish charm, there is no way i could survive the cruel world that is high school.

Once upon a time, there lived a princess named Layla Rose and she lived in a kingdom called Ros- oh come on!!! this is just a story that I read when I was five years old but I gave up in fairy tales when I was eight years old. Let me introduce myself, my name is Vanessa Corona and I'm fourteen years old, I live in a town called Rectroville. This is my story, when I was six years old my mom said that we would go to Mexico and see my grandparents but somehow my dad couldn't since he was born in Mexico, but me, my mom, and my oldest brother were born in the U.S, so we were able to go visit our grandparents. My parents' names are Rosaline and Juan Corona and my oldest brother was named Edwardo Corona, ever since we left, things have changed during the past two years when we were in Mexico. At the age eight when I came back to the U.S with my mom and my brother; I saw my dad happy to see me but when I was about to run and hug him I saw a woman beside him and there was a little girl holding her hand and I thought it was a joke but when I looked at my mom and my brother's faces they looked very serious. I was an eight-year-old little girl who just wanted to see her family together and happy but in reality, it was just the opposite. After watching this experience the last thing I remembered was my heart shattering into a million pieces. That day was the day where everything changed for me and that day was when I stopped believing in fairy tales or in happiness.
 Six years later, ever since my parents' divorce I've been having two families since then and two new siblings. One was a baby boy named Carlos Corona which is my new brother on my dad's side and the other one was a girl named Elizabeth Fernandez which is my new sister from my mom's side. Ever since that day, I wasn't the same little girl I was back then. Now I'm a girl who has to act tough around people, feeling insecure about herself, act like nothing is wrong with her life, and feel that she might be a slave to her father and not treated as a daughter. 

Moving to a new house and changing schools feels very disappointing and tiring at the same time. In my opinion. We moved like two times already and I started to have more friends on my side but it will never happen, after all, I'm almost done with middle school and soon I will go to high school this year. Most of all my mom asked me if I wanted to do a Quince and I said whatever which she might have taken it as a yes or she might have taken it as a no. Either way, I don't really care. Life for me wasn't all joy and happiness. For me, it was mostly full of lies and betrayal. Full of loneliness and sadness. The book that I read when I was five years old called "The Adventures of the Butterfly Princess" was nothing more but a fantasy and fiction book that little kids would fall for. I have. I always thought that I could become like the Butterfly Princess Layla Rose. At the start of the book, she had to face a lot of enemies who wanted nothing more and destroy her and her happiness. She was really scared at first but she was able to overcome it with the support of her friends she made along the way in her adventure. In the end she did get a happily ever after. She even fell in love and got married. What a joke! To think that I read this book about twenty times. 
Believing that I would get the same happily after like Princess Layla. Not a chance. At least, Princess Layla has parents who would keep their promises, unlike my parents who lied to their five-year-old daughter saying "we will always be together, no matter what, we will be a happy family". Happy!? What a full of crap! Want to know why? Well, it's very simple because all I could remember was full of lies and sadness during the day my parents divorced each other. All I could remember was both my mom and dad arguing saying that they did not love each other anymore. My brother took us to his room so I would not hear anything about what they were arguing about. I asked my brother that day "will they be ok?" He said, "everything will be fine, you shouldn't worry about it..." My brother was four years older than me and knowing him he knew that in reality, it's not going to be ok. My parents and my brother might be thinking "Vanessa is just a child who is just oblivious about everything and not knowing what's happening around her". In fact, this child who they say is oblivious and not knowing what's going on around her? In reality, knew what was going to happen and how her whole life will change for the better and for the worst. Mostly for the worst since in the end, I would not get a happily ever after like Princess Layla or even get married. I mean who would marry me? I'm just a "loner" or "weirdo" that people in my school would assume. Who knows? Anyways along the way, you will understand why my life is a tragic right now as it is. Princess Layla, always says "Life is full of fairy tales, no matter what, your wishes will always come true". I know my life isn't a fairy tale and I know my wishes never come true it's more than just that it's more like a nightmare. 
A nightmare that I would never overcome...

I'm old now. I'm slowly nearing my end. Which is why I decided to write about what I did in my life, thought, to do so i'll need to speak about my previous life. You see, it all began with a disappointing life.

I was born in France in the summer of the year 1991. My father is a Gendarme, it's a kind of police in France, it's just that they don't work in the same places. Policemen is mainly found in the Cities while Gendarmes are more present in the villages and remote area, but you can still find them in some big cities too. My mother is a housewife, well that's what they were doing at the time. I have three sisters the eldest is 2 years younger, the middle one is 10 years younger and the last is 18 years younger. There is also one that was stillborn after the last. 

And so my name is Charles Dupond, i went to school like every kids since it's an obligation by law. My first time suffering bullying was when i was 6 years old, at the time i was naive and lost all my marbles to another kid. He came to me, who had only shortly arrived in the village because of my dad works (Gendarme move every 5 years usually, sometime more and often less). And this kid came all friendly to a loner like me who had lost all my previous acquaintances, i made for an easy target and after he told me to bring marbles so we could play together, he cheated all my marbles out of me. They were not merely marbles to me they were from my mom, she played with them when she was little and there were not just one or two but a dozens or two. I was angry, it was my first time encountering malice. He stole the precious marbles of my mom. And when i went to the teacher, that brutish idiot told me off and gave reason to the other kid. Thinking back to it, it was my first time losing trust in an adult as a child. That's the starting point of me being bullied for two decades.My dad words that he always was saying is never do something to someone else if you wouldn't like having it done to yourself. That's the basis to live together in society. As a 6 years old i suffered from it because i couldn't retaliate when i was taken advantage of. And it continued for years. 

At 8 years old my parents made me do an official IQ test because i was bored in class and kept reading the dictionary. As a result, it was proven that i had above average IQ, 100 being average and i did 120 or something. Well, years later i'm still disgusted at something like intelligence being put in numbers, or comparing it to others. End result my IQ was good enough for me to jump grade, so i was 1 year younger than everyone else at the very least (some people repeat even in grade school). I got bullied again, this time around they excluded me of everything they could, like playing soccer together and more. They were verbally picking on me. It was a bad year that i spent without a single friend because the one from the previous class were jealous that i jumped a grade and the one of my current grade were feeling bad being compared to someone younger achieving better.

The next year was better as i entered middle school and was separated from them. I had a hard time trusting people already but i did manage to make a few friends, even went to a birthday celebration of one of them. The next year was harder. 
I wasn't in the same class as my friends and as i already said i have issue with trusting people which make me socially awkward. I did manage to open up to people of the class but nowhere near the previous year. The bad part is that my dear friends of the previous year ended up in the same class as the guys that bullied me from grade school. I ended up avoiding them and ressenting them for befriending those cruel people. Once again my trust in people got a hit.

I moved away again because of dad works. My second sister was born just before we moved away.

I arrived in a school were students pastime is to fight, insult, spit on peoples faces and try to fuck as many girls as you can when you are not smoking tobacco or trying drugs. And some did like to customize their scooters. I was totally ganged up and spent two years in suffering, well physically i wasn't hurt, safe for the time one of them used his lighter to burn my hair. 
No, most of it was being spit in the face, insulted for being the son of a Gendarme, encircling me to have fun putting pressure on me and destroying my furniture or stealing them.
When i finished middle school, i was only wanting to be far away from every damn person.

My first year of highschool went well, most of the people that were doing bullying, harassment and shaddy thing didn't get enough at the end exam. And the one who did weren't in my class so i managed to have one year to breathe. I went for scientific option the nest year in highschool. I don't know how it works in other countries but we get to choose between different option based of how well we do in the differents subjects starting the second year of highschool. I was doing well in Math, Chemistry and Biology, so so in English, Spanish, History/Geography and PE, and bad in French and Civism. 

It was the first time i cursed fate in my heart. There were 2 classes for the Science option, 30 students by class, not the same teachers but the same subjects. And i ended up in the class that had the bullies. You can feel all the apprehension i had before the first day even started. Nothing bad happened, they were too occupied to discuss of which girl was still virgin and who wanted to go for a smoke after the first day. 
Second day the same. 
First week the same.
And then we got to choosing the class representative. And they forced me as no one wanted to do it they planned it and every damn vote was for me. Well i can handle if it's just going to some meetings with the teachers or the like i guess. What was bad is that our homeroom teacher discovered that i had jumped a grade because he needed to access my data to make me the class rep. And he decided that i would repeat this year because he thought that having higher IQ wasn't a reason to jump grade. If it was only one person… Our Math teacher was his sister, her husband the Civism teacher and he our homeroom and Chemistry teacher. 
That year i discovered a different kind of hell. A hell were the teachers grades you 0 without looking at the copy and you have to keep smiling while they tell you that you are the worst of the class again and again and again. The bullies, safe for forcing me to be class rep, ignored me, the entire class was doing its best to be the farthest from me. And that family of teachers kept on humiliating me.
I felt like killing myself so many times. I also felt like killing this family of "teachers".
But i never retaliated. My dad teaching kept me firm in the belief that i was right. So why does it hurt so much ?

We moved away, this time my parents bought a small piece of land in some remote village. They had a house built and we lived here, my dad was forced to have a second house (Gendarme are provided houses for functional purpose) at his casernement. He was doing the travel every now and then, especially the week-end.

I was repeating my second year of highschool in a different school. I had an extremely hard time socializing with my classmates. But i finally manage to have a good relationship with them.
My third sister was born during my last year of highschool.
The third year of highschool began with some fear and apprehension on my part as i got separated from all my previous classmates, literally annihilating all my hard work to get a "normal" relationship. Well, i managed to do it last year so i succeeded in having a "normal" relationship.
But what is this "normal" relationship i'm talking about ? That's being close enough to know their names and their hobbies, far enough that they can't grow too close in order to avoid being hurt again and also far enough that they will likely not remember you in a few years and i won't either.

At the time i graduated, i choose to go for Medicine and become a doctor. Why ? Because the subject i'm good at are the main ones i'd have to study in Medicine and that's what the teachers pointed to me. As can be expected, it didn't go well at all. There are lots of reasons, first time living alone and far from the family, the students are extremely competitive as there is a quota per year and they only take in the best. Foreigner are also competing with french and not only do they take some spots but after they graduates, they go back to their countries. And we end up with a deficit of doctors…
Well, the atmosphere for studying is the worst, you need to go to cram school, forgo sleep and when the year ends you're like a zombie. It was also during those years that i lost my stillborn little sister Amelie. I did a depression. I was alone and it took me a few months before i crawled back up.
In the end i tried 2 times. Didn't pass.
For the third year i went to a sport college. Some of the subjects from Medicine are also studied there so i thought why not. And i crashed down again.
I was beginning to think that "family of teachers" were right. I'm scum, an idiot beyond hope and i began to really lose faith in myself. Not only distrusting people but even myself. How laughable…

I got a harsh scolding by my mom at home. She doesn't get it, the words didn't mean anything to me but seeing her cry over this scum like idiot helped me stand up a bit.

I took whatever money i had spared and registered for a computer course. Incidentally, in the same town where my father works. I lived with him, during those 2 years. Well, not totally as he got sent to Afghanistan to teach the Gendarmeries methods to the native police forces.
I managed to get the diploma. I went to the bank to get a loan and studied 3 more years, i finally got myself a Master in IT and work now as a Cybersecurity Administrator. That sound corny, like doing pentest for companies would be awesome but that's not what i do at all. I'm administering the firewall, proxy, antivirus servers and keeping everything up to date.

Well, i died. Not some truck, saving people while dying or anything of the like. I got a cancer and it was too late when i realised it. Not every people with cancer is an old man unfortunately. I'm not even 30. Just a few months and i could jokingly call myself a mage or wizard as the rumor says.
No other way after all, i don't have confidence to find anything attractive about myself thanks to my very low self esteem. And how i am supposed to approach someone when i have an extremely hard time just speaking with colleagues.
Well i died with plenty of regret.

High school... wow didn't think I would make it through. Especially not with the problems I had. I wouldn't say the feeling I had at my graduation were joy but more like, regret. Why? Well because I couldn't make up my mind. I let the most important person in my life slip from my hands. I let her go. I let... Jerlayn go. Who is Jeralyn? Oh she was the greatest and worst thing to ever appear in my life. She was the first ever person to ever make my heart throb and probably the last to do so. She was the one who brought me happiness and left me in a state of depression. She is unforgettable. She is someone you can't fathom to let go. She was the one in my eyes.

Her full name was Jeralyn Martinez. How I met her? It was in my freshman years of high school when I first laid eyes on this girl. It was at orientation and I'd seen her on her phone on Spotify. As no one from my middle school came to my high school, I tried to talk with her to see if she was nice. I found out she was. We talked about the type of music she listened to since that was the general topic I
pictured she would like. She told she loved bands like Hawthorne Heights, Acceptance, Mayday Parade. All these bands I use to listen to...back in my emo cringy days. I honestly never pictured this really nice girl to be listening to music about broken hearts and detachment. We talked for about 30 minutes until we were called into what the school called the "Lecture Hall" by the principal. There they had us arranged in seats and we thought we were gonna be separated but Jerlayn sat behind me. My last name is Lozano so it was a cool coincidence she sat behind me. As we the principal ranged about the school, we talked more about music and I tapped into my past self and spoke about certain emo bands I used to listen to. But others didn't see our talk as "cool", especially this one guy...

It’s a sorry about a girl I meant, well kinda.

"Vale! Can you hear me?! Wake up! Valerian!" I woke up. It's quite strange, having a dream about an old friend who use to wake me up in the morning. Nine years. I'm currently twenty-nine years old. Time sure passes in a flash. No, I take back that statement. The last nine years were the slowest, and worst years of my life. Where should I start? 

Let's go back to when I was fourteen. I was in middle school, and one weekend, my mother forced me to go to church with her. My mother was very dedicated and never missed a day of church. Now you know why I have a 'unique' name like Valerian. While at the church, I was introduced to my mom's friend's daughter, who was ten at the time. We saw each other fairly often and we would talk for hours while our parents chatted. We were close despite the age difference and we became closer when we became neighbors. The girl's mother often had to leave for business trips, so she would stay over at our house. 

We continued being close until I turned eighteen. I got into a decent university but, it was very far away. Countries apart to be exact. My family decided to move with me. I had to say goodbye to that girl. A week before I left, the girl's mother passed away from heart failure. She refused to leave her house, so I was never able to say goodbye.

Flash forwards two years, I was visiting my old high school. I heard from my mother that the girl was attending the same high school I attended. I asked around, but everyone who heard her name just gave me a strange look. Even my old teachers refused to say a word about her. It was strange, but I just assumed she got into some kind of trouble. Another place I wanted to visit was the church. There, I ran into a few people I knew. As I walked towards the seats, I notice two chairs with writing carved into them. "Did you know? A young girl passed away about a month ago," a women next to me explained. I read the writing on the chairs. "In memory of Miss Agnes Cross," I could already guess what the other chair would say, but I still wished that it's not what I thought. "In memory of Miss Agnes' daughter, Cecilia Cross, who died from an unfortunate incident.

Not entirely black though, I have a white dad and a African mum but I have my mom's dark colour. My mom told me I have to love myself for who I am. If not, I'm going to hate the world for the rest of my life.

Clover field is a town with two sides. north field and south field. The north is where you find the blacks. Not mostly, but people who have been denied some rights because of who they are. My mum used to live there with her parents.

South field is the part that consist of wealthy people. Flashy cars and big mansions. In all, we were the only blacks living in this white neighbourhood.

And some think we don't deserve this kind of life?

"It was supposed to be fun, right?"

'How long has it been? Is this torture even worth it? Why the hell did I even come back?' I asked myself these questions countless times already in the past two months. But no matter how much I think about it, I really had no other choice. Even back then, the advantages greatly outweighed the disadvantages.
 Now, I know you are probably confused, but I'll try to summarize my life story for you. Hopefully, it will explain why someone as powerful as me has been waiting in this empty waiting room for the last three hours. The waiting room? Well, it's your generic waiting room, which you'll find in any respectable company: The white paint, the uncomfortable chairs, and the apathetic secretary chewing gum. And for why I waiting here, it's for an interview for a job. 
Back to my life story, it's nothing much, really. I had been living a normal life like any other teenager in middle school until an interdimensional portal suddenly opened in my bedroom sucking me into another world.
 The worst thing is the timing when it happened. I mean come on; I was in the middle of exploring adult websites for the first time in my life with my pants down for fuck's sake. But the multiverse didn't give a damn about how I felt or what I was doing. *Cough* *cough*... and just like that, the portal sucked me in while the only thought occupying my mind was that I had to close those tabs by any means before my parents find out.
Well, after I woke up, the need to find a way back and delete my search history was the least of my concerns. It didn't take a while to deduce that I was isekai'd to another world. How? Now, I was never one of those super-smart protagonists you read about everywhere. In fact, some might even call me dumb if they knew how I flunked first grade. I mean even I don't know how dumb you need to be to flunk high school, but I'll just keep believing that maybe the school made a mistake. I wonder why mom wasn't surprised back then. 
Back to our question, how did I know if I was isekai'd? Simply because when I looked around, I noticed that I was in the middle of a fucking camp of goblins going about their daily life. What were they doing? Hmmm, sorry, but when you have just been sucked through a portal and realized that you are in a fucking forest with ugly, green little monsters, you wouldn't waste your time studying goblins' behaviors.
It didn't take them much to recover from the surprise of the sudden appearance of a  half-naked teenager in the middle of their camp. And when they did, my endless struggle to survive in Efora started. Yes, it turned out that "Efora" was the name of that world. Long story short, my adventure in that world of magic, cultivation, and monster started from that moment. And for the next 50 years, I would fight in numerous battles, go on countless adventures, and explore the world of Efora. I didn't do that because I wanted, though. 
My goal all along was to find a way to go back to modern earth. That, plus countless misunderstandings is what usually leads to my fighting a battle for something stupid or going on a dangerous adventure, where I could lose my life anytime. Some of you might ask: Why in hell, Leo, would you want to come back to this boring world? Well, then you, sir, have no idea how fucking hard and uncomfortable life is in that forsaken place.
 I mean what do you like about those fucking deadly adventures? Or is it magic that fascinates you? Well, let me tell you something; that shit is hard as fuck to master. And even if you did, chances are you would be dead before you even use it. There is always a greater danger no matter how powerful you are. 
OH! Or is it the dream of gathering your own harem of beautiful women and enjoy riches and wealth? I don't know about wealth, because I lived most of my life there broke as fuck; just making enough money to have two meals a day and a roof above my head was a challenge. 
And because of that I rarely got laid. Yes, it is the same as back on Earth: To get girls on Efora, which is basically in the middle ages, you either need to be wealthy, handsome, or at least, know what you are doing. I, however, failed miserably in all of them.
After countless trials, I've eventually managed to find a way back home. Fortunately, not much time passed on Earth. It turned out only 5 years elapsed in this world, which meant that 10 years in Efora was only 5 years on Earth. For some reason, I have the body of my 20-year-old self; it's not like I'm complaining, though. It sucks to be old, and how was I supposed to convince my family that the 64-year-old man in front of them is actually their teenage son that disappeared five years earlier?
 This brings us to the present. I've just left the company's building after I finished the interview. 
'What a waste of time!' And it was. I've wasted the whole fucking morning waiting for the interviewer to come to the office, just to be dismissed after a 10-minute interview with the usual " we will let you know". 
'Can't they respect the damn schedule? We have shit we need to do too. Fuck!' I'm still lost in my thoughts when I notice that it's raining. So now, I'm standing in front of the building entrance in the rain with my head down. My second-hand, old suit is getting wet, and I have to do something about it. It wasn't anything special; I bought it online for 30 bucks, so I got what I paid for.
 I also didn't bring an umbrella, so it's going to be a long walk back home. I haven't moved, though. I clench my fists and grit my teeth. My face is getting hotter and hotter. The world's energy, or mana like everybody called it in Efora, is gathering around me. Now, the temperature around me is also rising fast as raindrops are starting to evaporate. 
I have to do something about it, I really do. But by now I've already reached my breaking point. In the past two months, I've gone through hell looking for a job. Even an adventure who went through endless life and death situations and learned how to control his emotions is bound to lose it at some point. And that is exactly what is about to happen. 
I scream my heart out with all I've got letting all the mana around me burst in one go. And I let the anger, despair, and anxiety loose while shouting at the top of my lungs:
"FUCK THIS WORLD! FUCK EVERYTHING! I'm out! Did you hear me, the world? I'm fucking OUT!!!"
It wasn't after two seconds of breathing in and out heavily that I recognize what I've almost done. By this point, everyone around who was hurrying to find cover from the rain is on the ground looking at me. Cars have stopped in their tracks, too.  And even the rain stopped for a second, there. I've almost blown off my cover. Luckily, mana, on Earth, is way lighter than its counterpart on Efora. So unless I consciously concentrate on gathering mana, nothing major will happen. Still, if this was Efora, this city would've turned to dust, already.
"Fuck!" I blurt out again, but now for a different reason. I forgot about my suit. That worn-out, faded suit is now nothing but an unrecognizable, tattered cloth. It couldn't bear the power burst earlier, and now I need to add buying a new suit to my long to-do list.
"Why is this happening to me? Why?" I mumble to myself, almost crying. I wanted to shout again, to curse everything, to run as far as I can. I wanted to leave this complicated world; I wanted to live in a simpler place.
I snort at my own stupid thoughts. I have just come back from that simple world, and it's not like I have another way to go back either. Besides, I chose this, and no matter how tough things get this world is still thousands of times better than Efora.
It didn't take long to get my shit together and remember that I was still standing in the rain while everyone is looking at me. I didn't care about them, though. And with a long sigh, I make my way back home with agonizingly slow steps. My mind is already occupied with where am I getting money for the suit, and other million stuff. 
I think I got used to these situations after all those years of suffering on Efora. I survived Efora and found a way back, after all. How I did it, though. That is another story for another day.
