Monique is an ordinary girl who laughs at her own jokes, likes to read manga and listen to music that's not even in English.
Even though she is a nerd, it doesn't bother her one bit. Monique is now 20 years old and she goes to school doing commercial foods and nutrition. she has an older sister and a little brother who she cant stand sometimes but she loves them anyway.
You see Monique tends to lazy about and only pay attention to things she wants to know. She's out spoken and tend to shout when she's anger but regrets it right after. 
she's not a bad person she's just weird and can't control her anger sometimes. now she wants to change somethings about her but its hard and depressing but that doesn't stop her from doing what's best for her. 
 After a long day with chores Monique goes straight to her manga but today was different after chores her sister told her there was school tomorrow. Monique doesn't want to go but she has nothing to do anyway. she then sat down all sad and pouty. she doesn't hate school its just not something she wants to do anymore.
she goes on her computer and put on her favorite song on YouTube to sing away her blues. she puts the song in full screen and laugh at the singer weird dancing and sing along, after a while she felt a bit better.

He said to her in a soft but concerning voice. she thought what a nice voice. as her eyes looked him in the face. he then spoke again. 
" Voice: Are you lost miss? "

Zhang Zian prepared a pot of tea and carried it downstairs to give it to Old Time Tea.

After the New Year's Day holiday, the pet shop seemed a bit quiet, which was normal. Students were currently preparing for the final exams. Office workers were striving for the annual bonus. Retired people were reluctant to go out in such cold weather.

However, when the Lunar New Year arrived, the situation of his shop would be better because the children would receive a lot of lucky money from their parents and relatives. Since Zhang Zian went to visit Little Celery's school, he had a strong feeling that, as a pet shop owner, it was easiest for him to earn money from children. 

Lu Yiyun had begun to draw. Recently, she seemed somewhat mysterious and was very sensitive about her paintings. Whenever Zhang Zian walked past the cashier desk, she would quickly switch the interface of the computer screen. Zhang Zian could not help but wonder if she was drawing erotic anime drawings for those nerdy guys just to earn more money. 

Old Time Tea and Richard were watching TV. After feeding themselves, Fina and Snowy Lionet were sleeping on the cat tree. Even Famous was asleep. The most vigilant creature in the pet shop was Zhan Tian, who was squatting side by side with the statue of the Cat Goddess at the outer room of the pet shop like a gatekeeper. 

Since she knew that Zhan Tian was a veteran police dog, Lu Yiyun felt very safe with Zhan Tian in the shop. When Zhang Zian walked past, Zhan Tian stood up and looked at him with anticipation. "We will play outside after a while," Zhang Zian said to Zhan Tian, so Zhan Tian squatted on the floor again.

Zhang Zian poured the tea into Old Time Tea's thermal jug.

"Meow!"

As he was carrying the empty teapot to go back to the kitchen upstairs, he heard Galaxy's meowing from behind. He turned around. Blinking its silver-gray eyes at him, Galaxy said, "Meow! Zian, is Pi all right?"

Zhang Zian laughed. "Pi is fine. It just told me a very incredible thing."

"Meow! Pi is amazing!" Galaxy said solemnly and seriously.

"By the way," Zhang Zian lowered his voice and asked, "Galaxy, do you know about the book of Pi?"

Galaxy nodded. "Meow! Galaxy has seen the book before."

"That book ... is it really about life, the universe and everything?" he asked Galaxy. 

Galaxy answered without hesitation, "Meow! Yes! That is a very powerful book! It is the most powerful book on Earth!"

Holy s**t!

Zhang Zian was shocked. The most powerful book on Earth?

He already knew that this book was all-encompassing, but it was still quite incredible that Galaxy acknowledged that this book was the most powerful book on Earth. Galaxy tilted its head and thought for a moment. It added, "Meow! It may not be the most powerful book on other planets."

Well, things on other planets have nothing to do with me. Thought Zhang Zian.

He carried the water kettle and went back upstairs.

Pi was sitting in front of the computer, typing the digits of Pi in the browser's search bar repeatedly. When it saw Zhang Zian approach, Pi was just a little shy, but did not dodge or shun as before.

"Pi, this search engine has a maximum length limit. If you want to type more digits of Pi, I'll install a word processing software for you." Zhang Zian proposed.

Pi did not seem to understand Zhang Zian's words. Behind its pince-nez glasses, its brown eyes blinked. Pi opened its book. A moment later, it happily closed the book and moved away from the computer. 

"Eeek!"

Well, Zhang Zian guessed that Pi was asking him to install the software.

Zhang Zian found the official version of Microsoft Office that he bought a long time ago. He inserted the CD-ROM into the disk drive. After the lengthy read process, the word processing kit of Microsoft Office was correctly installed onto the computer. He launched Microsoft Word and a new, blank document appeared on the screen. Zhang Zian pressed the keys and typed 3.1415926 in the document, and then moved himself to another sofa, and invited Pi to sit back in front of the computer to continue typing.

"Eeek!"

Pi excitedly put the book on the coffee table, placed its hands on the keyboard to press the different number keys.

The nameless book was between Pi and Zhang Xian.  If he reached out, he could touch the book. However, he resisted his curiosity and tried his best not to look at that book. Instead, he focused on watching Pi while it was typing the digits of Pi—which was boring and made him dizzy. However, since Pi could put down its book, it meant that Pi had started to trust Zhang Zian, right?

After a while, Zhang Zian noticed that Pi's typing posture was not quite right, like that of Mr. Zhou whom Zhang Zian had met in the library. Mr. Zhou used only one finger to type. Pi was slightly better than Mr. Zhou by using its two index fingers to type, which was of low efficiency. That's why Pi had been typing so slowly. 

"Pi, your typing posture is incorrect," he reminded it.

"Eeek?"

Pi paused typing. It looked at him with puzzlement.

"Let me show you the correct posture." He sought the approval of Pi.

"Eeek!"

Pi moved aside. Zhang Zian sat back in front of the computer, placing his ten fingers on the keyboard. "Pi, you see, my two index fingers are on the two keys, 'F' and 'J'. There is a small bulge on each of the two keys so that your index finger can feel the bulge." 

He patiently presented Pi with the correct typing postures, explaining the areas controlled by each finger, and how to move its fingers correctly.

"Eeek?"

After the demo was completed, Pi imitated Zhang Zian's posture and tried the correct methods on its own. However, it did not type very well. Its knuckles were not as flexible as that of human beings. Its fingers kept intertwining with each other, and soon, Pi became restless.

"Eeek!"

Pi scratched its head and gave up learning the correct posture. It resumed typing with only two fingers. 

Zhang Zian decisively held its hand. "Pi, don't give up just because it is difficult. If you do not develop a habit of typing with the correct pose, and persist on typing with two fingers, your fingers will be prone to suffer from a variety of knuckle diseases."


He was not aware of the capacity of this document of Microsoft Word, but he guessed it could contain several millions of digits of Pi. If Pi continued typing with its incorrect posture, it would only be a matter of time before it suffered from knuckle diseases.

"Eeek?"

Pi looked at him with doubt.

"You can go check your book, which should have contained the correct typing posture." Zhang Zian said, pointing to the nameless book.

Pi listened to his words. It opened its book and turned the pages. After a moment, it put down its book and lowered its head uneasily. 

"Eeek."It uttered this sound like it was apologizing.

I had been working on my philosophy essay for the past two hours. But for some reason, I was only halfway finished with it.

Figuring out Albert Camus' quote by myself turned out to be a difficult task to accomplish. How can suicide become one true and serious philosophical problem?

During the last class, our philosophy professor instructed that our essay required no outside help from classmates. This means neither Kyla nor Claire can assist me with this assignment.

It was up to my brain to figure things out. Yet it has seemed like my memory was running low.

I stopped working on the essay and took a one-hour nap to recharge. Yet when I woke up, my brain cells could not seem to cooperate with the task at hand.

My mind grew perplexed with each passing minute. There are so many things to worry about even I cannot comprehend.

But then something suddenly came out of my brain. It was Cynthia's vision which showed up to arouse me.

I visually imagined how she became a frequent target of bullies that led to her committing suicide. All that pain, suffering and abuse must have triggered me anew.

Having seen this apparition all over again, I suddenly had the urge to continue the assignment. And so I faced my laptop and resumed typing some words on a Microsoft Word document.

But just as the word count neared 300, Charissa began shouting downstairs.

"Christine, lunch is ready," she fervently said.

"Let me finish this work first," I yelled back. "My stomach is still full."

Unfortunately, the smell of grilled pork chops became too irresistible and shortly after I reluctantly walked downstairs. By that point, both Charissa and Clark were sitting on the table chewing some food.

"You'll wash the dishes after this," Charissa informed me. "You are too late in joining us for lunch."

"But mother I was still working on my assignment," I explained. "You should have understood my situation."

"It's imperative the whole family must eat a meal together regardless of circumstance," Charissa replied. "Sorry but you must wash the dishes, period."

In the end, I wound up working those household chores as Charissa instructed. But just as I walked up to my bedroom, the phone suddenly rang.

Michelle was calling from her home.

Michelle: "Hello? Christine?"

Christine: "Michelle, why are you calling right now? You distracted me from my work."

Michelle: "It's an urgent call Christine. Can you come to Starbucks later this afternoon?"

Christine: "I'll try, but only after my philosophy assignment is finished."

Michelle: "Okay then. I'll call you back later. Farewell."

Several words later, the philosophy essay is finished. Exhausted, I closed my laptop and fell asleep.

At 3:00 p.m., the alarm on my mobile phone started ringing. Upon waking up, I realized I hadn't taken a shower yet.

Then came another call from Michelle.

Michelle: "Are you ready to come with me, Christine?"

Christine: "Sorry but I haven't taken a shower yet. But don't worry, I'll be coming out there in a moment."

Michelle: "Okay then. See you there."

After several frantic moments inside the bathroom, I dressed up in a simple t-shirt, denim pants and slippers. Upon walking towards the lobby, however, Michelle's car was nowhere to be found.

Not long after, my mobile phone rang anew. Once again, Michelle came out calling.

Michelle: "Christine, walk straight to the mall immediately. I'm at Starbucks right now."

Christine: "Okay then."

But just as I strolled the streets of Greenhills, the straps of my left slipper suddenly broke. Regardless, I soldiered on and limped to Starbucks with one good slipper.

"You look exhausted," Michelle remarked on me. "What happened?"

"Look at my own two feet," I responded back. "Notice the difference?"

At that point, Michelle realized how tired I was by looking at my broken slipper. Consequently she  helped me purchase a new pair at a flip-flop store.

After replacing the worn-out pair of slippers, we walked back to Starbucks for some snacks. While Michelle ordered some sandwiches and tea, I opened my laptop and logged in on Facebook.

Just then, Kyla delivered me a message. It read:

"Christine, how was your essay?"

I replied:

"It was so exhausting. Turns out figuring and dissecting the passage on Albert Camus by yourself was harder than I imagined."

As Michelle gently placed the orders on the table, Kyla typed another message.

"Even I found it difficult to comprehend. Right now my essay is partly done and I am a little exhausted."

Moments later, I responded to Kyla's message.

"It's unfortunate that I cannot help you per the professor's orders. So good luck in figuring it out. Who knows, perhaps some unpleasant personal memories of yours can be a source of motivation and application."

Kyla typed back:

"I'll try and process that. Thanks Christine."

After promptly closing my laptop, I grabbed a plate of chicken sandwich and took a bite out of it. After sipping on a glass of green tea, Michelle carefully opened her bag and retrieved some valuable documents.

"Christine, I talked to Kevin and Ella the other day and they showed me some intriguing storylines," she explained. "Kevin came up with three rough drafts for our video production assignment. What do you think?"

As Michelle presented some sketches to me, it was clear my intentions were aimed towards a funnier storyline.

"Personally, I liked the infomercial parody better," I respectfully informed Michelle while pointing out the sketch. "The two other plots seem extremely gloomy for my liking."

"Okay then," Michelle replied. "I'll ask Kevin and Ella about it. After all we have two weeks to produce this video."

For the rest of the afternoon, the two of us enjoyed a particularly hearty snack. Just then, Michelle's mobile phone suddenly rang.

Who could that be? As she starts answering the phone, I grew extremely curious regarding the identity of this mysterious voice.

Christine, a 22-year-old college student, decides to open a blog and write a story about her tormented past.

As a young child, Christine was constantly abused and mocked by her classmates for her nearsightedness and portly complexion. To make matters worse, she was left to live with her aunt after her mother was assigned to work overseas and her father became too preoccupied in his work as a doctor.

This story is about a young woman's pursuit towards positivity and joy amid these turbulent times. For Christine, all she wants now is to face her fears and overcome them one by one.

I will not able to update today's chapter my wifi was unstable or unusable  plus I couldnt fix my Microsoft Word even until now because of this I will owe you one chapter! See you.

I hope you guys are enjoying the book so far. You guys are absolutely amazing and I mean that. It's so crazy that you guys are voting and commenting on this story and it's my very first one. Chapter 10 is coming soon but I'm trying to write chapters 11+ in Microsoft Word as well so that I can just post it every other day. I hope that everyone is staying safe during these uncertain times, because of the Virus. Remember it's perfectly ok to stay home and work from home.
