Aleck looked around at the newly-refurbished area and smiled in satisfaction. "This time, I should start installing some of the devices I've invented for the past ten years. I'm pretty sure they are all novel in this world. Fergal, oh major planet, better be prepared to be amazed by the wonders and creativity of a minor world, Earth."

The rooms were all destroyed and the second floor literally became an open area filled with fifty metallic chairs and helmet that resembled the electric chair he once saw in a movie. Because all the chemical elements present on Earth could be found inside Fergal, he was able to create his own version of Virtual Reality set, powered by Illusion, Space, and Enchantments Specialization while he was on the ten-year grace period. Unlike the Earth counterparts, this gaming device did not need any electricity to turn it on, instead, it used up the Magick and Essence of the users. That was why the stronger the user was, the longer one's time play was. 

He once tried creating some pieces of dangerous stuff like rockets and launchers to make himself stronger but the Herolet examiner warned him to use only the specific legacy he received or else he would risk facing disqualification. Without a choice, he then concentrated all his energy and knowledge to incorporate Illusion Blessor Legacy to all his plans. Fortunately, he was allowed to use everything he learned from Earth, minus the dangerous stuff. 

Aleck descended downstairs and saw the 50-inch Plasma screen he installed on the wall, which was conveniently facing the counter. With this, anyone could see the actual playthrough of a player inside the Gaming Fantasy while sitting on the waiting chairs.

Even though it might look impossible to do, but he was able to create a network system connecting all these devices to his main computer. With just a single command from him, he could alter anything that was connected to his System.  

Aleck went upstairs and tried one of the Gaming Fantasy series. He secured the helmet on his head and pressed the button on his armchair. Soon, a female human NPC appeared on his view.

"Welcome to Aleck's Earth in Fergal Training shop. This is the place where you can train, simulate and strengthen yourself while enjoying the premise of being inside a game. Please state your account name if you're already registered but if this is your first time logging in, then say 'Create Account' to start creating your account."

Aleck chose the 'Create Account' option and did what the NPC asked him to do. 

After a few seconds, the NPC smiled and said in a cheerful voice, "Choose the game that you want to play."

Aleck smiled when he saw the games he had created while he was on his grace period.

Immortal Kombat's concept was based on the popular franchise on Earth, Mortal Kombat, where people fought inside an arena. What made it popular back then was the brutal aspect of the game, including the finishing acts that made the gore lovers craved for more. Aleck had upgraded his version and added several features such as royal rumble, tag team, and special assistants that you could call for help while fighting in-game. One may either choose the story mode and be the character inside the game or the arcade mode where you can fight using a character based on your essence and magick. 

Monsters Legends was his own version of the famous Pokemon game. But monsters were captured using cards instead of Pokeballs. This game was intended for conjurers and summoners who wanted to strengthen their summons and familiars. 

The Older Ones: Skyrim was his version of the popular game 'Skyrim'. But he made it more interactive by turning it into an MMORPG, wherein many people could simultaneously play the game. There was also a choice to play it alone by using the Single Player mode if he just wanted to be immersed inside the story without other player's interference.

SIM was just like the Earth's counterpart. In here, you could use the cards the system recorded from your account and do the simulation. As of now, the only feature Aleck incorporated inside the game were breeding monsters, blacksmithing and spell creation simulation. Fighters and other magick specialists could also use this by registering their weapons and magicks into the gadget he called scanner. The system then transformed these data into its card counterpart. 

Of course, he did not want to limit himself to these four games. He intended to create more varieties as his business progressed to meet all kinds of customers' needs.

After doing some test runs, he was sure that all the game were functioning properly and all that was left to do was to install the safety kit. Since he had a support-based legacy, the Heroes Halls was kind enough to give him some life-saving stuff to protect his meager life. He knew many would be tempted to acquire his inventions when they found out its revolutionary effects, and these safety kit would definitely safeguard him and his establishment from people with vile intentions.

He activated the safety kit and suddenly a surge of blinding light emerged from the phone-like device. After a few minutes of groping, he was able to see again and the place became normal.

"Well, I guess this is it. Tomorrow will be the opening day. I'll just wait for the workers from the agency to arrive and start training them."

Aleck patiently waited as he played some games at the reception area until he heard the doorbell rang. He then pressed a button beside the computer and speak through the speaker. "Please come in."

Eric's POV

Eric Mathis agreed to meet with the rest of his friends at the Chicken Stall before proceeding to the Pride Inn. At last, the agency called them yesterday, informing them that a rich boss was looking for a cashier, a janitor, and an assistant. He knew he was a weak Human who only knew basic illusion magick and transforming essence, and these reasons prevented him from gaining a decent job. His family was just poor, considering his father only earned 5 copper Mesitos every day, which was only enough for their daily food consumption. To make ends meet, he decided to work and since then was hopping from one workplace to another. 

Eric saw his friends eating at the Chicken stall. He ran towards them and waved his hands. "Hello everyone. I thought I am the first one to arrive here. So, ready to meet our new boss?"

"Yup! But after this," the fatty young man with a round cap and baggy jeans replied. 

"I've seen the signage earlier. Pride Inn's logo is changed into a new one. I think it's called Earth in Fergal," the scrawny, bald guy added as he munched his sandwich. "Hey, stop messing around, Juvan."

"Hurry up! Let's make a good impression right at the first meeting. My mom usually says that first impressions always last," Juvan retorted as he smoothened his well-trimmed black hair.

Eric clapped his hands and started walking. "Come on, guys. Juvan's right. We don't wanna mess this up. Fatty Jonas. Skinny Chet! The agency says our new boss is gallant enough. I've heard he gave some expensive gifts to them."

Their eyes lit up as they heard this and altogether ran towards the 3-story building. He pressed the doorbell and heard a reply after a few seconds.

"Please come in."

Eric opened the door and they consciously entered the premise. They all collectively gasped when they saw the strange screen inside the building.

A very wide screen was hanged on the wall facing the counter. It was much larger than the Image Reflector or IR he had back home. Unlike the IR, this was much thinner to the extent that one could not almost see its side. 

Eric saw someone standing behind the counter, very surprised that their new boss was actually that young, almost like his age.

"Sir Aleck Morris. We're from the agency you've hired as helpers."

Aleck's POV

"Thank god, you are here," Aleck replied amiably as he exited the counter area and approached the young men. He knew that they were all 18 years of age. Theoretically, they were of the same age but in reality, he almost lived a thousand years due to several time-stopping powers that prevented him from aging while he was inside Earth and other pocket dimensions to do his researches. Back to his current situation, he pulled out several label tags from his pocket and offered them to the newcomers.

"I already received your data record from the agency. Just pin this name tag on your shirt for easy identification. Please distribute this to your fellow employees."

The nearest guy received the tags and appropriated the proper name tags to its owner.

Seeing that they were done with the tags, Aleck then went on to his explanation. "I'll give you a thorough description of what the business is and what you are expected to do. Follow me while I show you around. First, this is the counter area where the customers will pay and recharge his card. That new IR you see is connected to the games they play upstairs. In short, people in the waiting chairs could see the actual game scene from one of the players who is currently playing."

They all then walked upstairs. He smiled when he heard the collective gasps behind him. Turning around, he took a helmet from the chair with a number 1 on its side. "This is what I call the Gaming Fantasy series, imbued with magic enchantments. This serves as your connection to the gaming world. They are very easy to use. All you have to do is wear the helmet and secure its lock. Press the button on this armchair and it will automatically power up using your essence and magick. Remember, never forget to remind the customers that they will forcefully be ejected from the gaming world if they have almost depleted their magick and essence."

Aleck saw the curious gazes on their faces. With a grin, he then asked something that made them wide-eyed. "Wanna play a game?"

"Yes!" they all shouted in unison.

"Sure. But let me register you first in the system. Let's go."

The four employees followed behind him as they went downstairs. After they were done with the registration, they returned to the second floor and each one of them occupied a seat.

Eric could not help but drool when he saw the sexy female before him. Dressed in tight leather vest and leggings that accentuated her cleavage and long legs, he almost lost his mind. But he remembered that it was only a game, and kept muttering the idea all over again despite the fact that it looked real. 

Eric remembered what his boss told him earlier and chose the 'Create Account' and supplied all the information. After he was done, the NPC then turned her faced towards him and another pop-up message appeared.

He felt his heart beat faster as he recalled what his boss told him to choose.

"The Older Ones: Skyrim!"

A merchant wanted to prove that he can become a hero candidate. But when his turn came, he had received the worst type of Legacy from the Heroes Hall. 

He was angry but he did not want to wallow on useless things. Braving the other world, he used his Legacy to save the world by making a gaming business that could help them defend against the foreign invaders.

Author's Note: A very confusing plot. I already warned you so read at your own risk.

She can’t believe she fell in love with a total jerk. But even if he is a total ass he can’t be that mean. She cried her heart out in the druids’ place. She is still crying a river when Artie gave her a bucket of vanilla ice cream. “My lady, you should stay away from the emperor, not only he has enemies outside the nation, he also has political enemies as well as spiritual enemies.” 

Artie is now drawing a life size pentagram on ground using a chalk. Who still uses chalk now a days Chelsea thought. 

 “what are you doing?” she asked in between hiccups and sobs. 

“So you haven’t been reading the grimoire yet? this is called a pentagram and this is to perform high magick.” 

He explained that they need to gather enough energy to create a protection spell on her, normally they will invoke a deity and ask for help but since the druids believed that she is Diana this is to invoke her own powers. The druids ate actually doing traditional European pagan tradition though Chelsea didn't have clue all the information passed down on her works perfectly well. 

 “But I am not Diana.” She argued but no one listens to her. “It doesn’t matter okay, weather on not you’re the goddess but her manifestation is in you, just like the manifestation of the holy spirit to virgin Mary.” 

How in the world can she comprehend, she’s neither a Christian nor pagan, never had any spiritual orientation, growing up her parents didn't give a damn about religion 

“My lady get in the circle, we will do a protection spell.” Chelsea was pulled into the circle and followed the chants of the men around her. She admits that the power surging in her body felt very good but after the ritual she is starving but she didn’t care about it since she’s exhausted. But because she had so much magick in her she was able to transport herself back at the palace and to Gregory’s bed again. Maybe she is being transported to where her thoughts are. 

Nine o’clock in the evening and the emperor is still having a strategic planning with the national defense commission and it is bloody because they are incorporating magick with the weapons. It works with every nation except the barbaric nation. These race has a strong immunity with Cavanaugh magick, the country is called Dbbask, they share the same continent with Cavanaugh and the reason they’re probably immune to Cavanaugh magick is because they share the same race and bloodline, they didn’t pursue magic instead develop a strong military defense while Cavanaugh has pursued the art. Cavanaugh's army is not bad but Dbbask are powerful even without magick. 

“Without the weapon enhancement we can’t win against arm forces.” 

Their naval resources are great but they won’t be using it. Cavanaugh is superior with air force but they don’t know the capacity of their enemy they can’t underestimate. 

“You’re highness, since we do not have a reliable solution, National Scientific and Alchemy Institute has experimenting with Dbbaskan blood, and has found out a possibility magick and their own blood can destroy them”. 

Gregory thought that’s too inhumane but did not comment, after all he got no clue to how resolve this matter either. 

Dbbask is almost a barren land and all their natural resources were used up and polluted they know how to exploit and didn’t know how to restore, so the threat of invasion among neighboring land are possible. Cavanaugh is not only responsible for their own but other small countries that bears the same threat. It’s now a tiring and frustrating day they end up resolving nothing. It’s now twelve midnight and Gregory went to his office to finish some work and study some proposals from his generals. He felt like choking and he unfastened his necktie and loosen some shirt buttons. He called a servant to bring him some rum. How can the former emperor leave him with this mess? He was only twenty five but he felt like he had grown to an eighty years old man because of the huge responsibility on his shoulder. Looking at his wrist watch it’s almost two in the morning and he will need to meet the prime minister tomorrow to discuss delegation of political responsibility. It has been months since the former emperor died and these issues has been pushed aside due to pressing matters and now he can’t avoid it any longer. He opened his bedroom door without turning the lights off and throw himself to bed totally drained. The heavy movement and sound woken the lady slumbering on that same bed. Although on a confused seeing Gregory in such a sorry state, she decided to help him clean his body and change his clothes. She hesitate at first but decided to move forward, why would he mind me doing something for him? She’s his paid servant after all. “Can’t you really love me? I know I’m not pretty enough to be the type of woman you like. But can’t we give it a chance?” He is unconscious so Chelsea is pretty much talking to herself. She soften the folds on his forehead and brows. “What are you dreaming about? Is the monsters chasing you? Don’t worry darling I am here.” She whispered so softly and give him a very light peck on his lips. But he suddenly opened his eyes wide and grab her neck and deepen the kiss. Chelsea was not prepared and her body lose balance and was thrown in his chest. Gregory with the help of alcohol intoxication and Chelsea’s uninhibited provocations resulting to uncontrollable fire in his body. “Vixen..come I’m gonna give you what you want tonight.” 

She pleaded and beg to slow down if he can't stop but he can't hear her, he's in a state of blissful contact like when you submerge into an icy pool on humid summer days, the cold touch of water on your hot skin kind of state. She only ended with muffled screams and soft cries. Gregory's room is like a chapel because it's too big and empty the acoustic is great that her little screams and cries were amplified ten times, and the sounds were bouncing back on the cold concrete walls. Can it be more humiliating than a tone deaf concert she had at the house party they had last Saturday.

Chelsea Chiu struggles with poverty and suffers abuse from her biological parents, but don't worry this is not a cringy dramatic soap opera, the heroin is actually carefree and a survivor. So much for care and protection. It had taken just seconds and he was already trying to kill her.  Rin remained very still, as tranquil and serene as ever despite knowing she was in great danger again perhaps more than if she had faced the Coesen guards or the assasins from the day before.  
-Talk-
Rin stared into his eyes and thought of how to tell the truth and be believed.  He was clearly very fast and his magick power had advanced to an almost godly level because his soul gem and his ability to wield a lightning weapon clearly showed the truth.
-My name really is Rin-she started- but I come from another world.  Rin Coesen died yesterday from poison and I was sent to inhabit her body- she kept staring at him square in the eyes.
-Do you take me for a fool?-he seemed even angrier.  Still, his expression was not enough to make him look bad at all.  
-No, I know you are not one.  Is there anyway I can prove it to you?-she said- I am willing to be tested so you can see I did not lie to you ever since we met.
Lyn thought as fast as he could.  If what she said was true despite how crazy it sounded but he still killed her, he would commit a great sin against someone who had saved his life.  He thought of the tecniques available and decided to perform the soul memory spell so he could search for the answers.  It might be invasive but fast and at this point, he would rather be safe and say sorry afterwards.  He pounced without any other sign so she could not get away from him.
Rin lost sight of him the next second, only to see him right in front of her as he struck directly at her soulgem with his fingers in a fast move she could not avoid with how her current body was out of shape.  When he made contact with her, lightning bolts cursed through her body and Rin screamed in pain. She then felt how that lightning like energy invaded her mind and sifted through all her memories from the past and current world.  It felt awful, as if her innermost being was naked and displayed in front of him for his perusal.  Then, as suddenly as it came, it was gone and all that was left was a sensation of cold that she knew well because it was the same type of feeling left after a revision of her memories by the upper ups.
Prince Lyn had performed this particular technique many times, mainly during interrogations of spies and people involved with his enemies during his many quests.  Never afterwards had he felt more guilty about it than he did now.  In that little instant, he had seen the truth of her words, visions of another universe where her people existed and thrived even after having lost the entire planet to a horde of monsters.  He had seen her awakening in this world and even the instructions left by the ghosts that used to be her family that allowed both of them to survive.  He lowered his magick weapon and stared at the confused expression in her face.
Maybe things would have gone much better if right then he could have said sorry.  He had so many things to say and ask but right then Rin's arms and neck were tied and restrained by 3 different people wielding whips made of frozen ice.  Where they touched her skin, the cloth was torn apart and her skin burned painfully.  Prince Lyn recognized these as his own guards and signaled to stop the attack on her.  They must have seen how he performed the soul memory spell on her and decided to attack to be on the safe side too without realizing they were making a huge mistake.
Rin reacted by instinct and fury at the pain.  She was one stone cold soldier, always unfazed even in the middle of the worst slaughter but this particular attack of the mind and body had passed her limits.  The nanotech and her new magick powers combined themselves and her slender body was suddenly covered not with gray rags but with a skin tight golden armor, dispelling the whips and sending those three shadow guards flying.  Then she had gone for the Prince at a high speed to which he reacted by evading her very accurate and deadly punches.
-Liar-she spat- 
-Stop it-he blocked her and took hold of one of her arms, only to see her perform a body twist on him that almost threw him away too.  
-You hurt me first-her eyes shone with anger and Lyn thought she looked like a warrior goddess.  He was not surprised about her sudden transformation because this viciousness and fighting power were already a weakened version of what he had seen in her memories.  She clearly meant to defend herself against him and the guards, not obliterate them.
-I am sorry-he tried again to calm her and succesfuly captured her other arm, effectively trapping her between his arms.
-Let me go-
-No-
She kept struggling mightily.  He had to use his full force to restrain her as he had had to do only a few times in his whole life in battles to the death against scarily powerful foes.  She was that strong and he knew then that he had to calm her fast or be left eating dust for the first time ever because she was much stronger and would win in the long term.  Since a soul search had sent things to hell, he decided to take the risk and perform a gem merge and see if that worked.
He didnt see it.  But his subordinates did and took care to describe it very carefully to him afterwards  They saw how their Prince touched his brow to hers for a long moment on his own volition and then heard him saying sorry in a gentle voice.  The lady suddenly stopped the struggle and seemed to understand his sincere apology because she kept staring at him.  He touched her brow to her again but ended up kissing her lips briefly.  Her golden eyes widened and her whole body shone as two enormous wings of light and fire became briefly visible on her back for a moment right before it all was snuffed and she passed out on the Lords embrace.

He wanted a useless and meek woman by his side that he could easily control into leaving him alone. She wanted a man that was normal looking, without an entourage of backstabing crazily in love bunch of hyenas getting in her way all the time.
Needless to say, this is the story of how they did not get what they wanted.
