“Subject Z has lived in the Gray Room for a long time. Longer than most as the White Coats would take away people from their rooms and they would sometimes leave the place. It was like that until the Funny Smelling People came.”

“They came in by a CRASH and the White Coats were unhappy. Big Hands broke my room and made me upset, so I wanted to hit Big Hands, but Long Hair screamed when they saw me and pushed me.”

“There was a FLASH! And a BOOM! I found I was in loud bright place with a lot of metal.”

Babbled Subject Z as she happily finished telling how from her she got from her homeland to where they are now.

Her child: “???”
Funny Smelling People: “We were destroying a research facility!”
Her future spouse: “Hands off my waifu!”

"NO! She is a pervert!" Long shouted and hid his lover to his chest.

Felia propped himself up and gazed at him with her eyes narrowed. "Eh, what do you mean? I am a refined lady." She shouted.

"Then why is your nose bleeding, ah?" the golden dragon shouted.

"Its.... it's because... I," she cried, holding her bleeding nose. She felt mortified. Ever since she was born, she had been called a refined lady, a beauty and even a calamity. But No one had ever called her a pervert before.

"See, you can't even answer that properly, liar," Long said and hid his lover's face with his sleeve.

"But... But... I am not like that. I hurt my nose," she said pointing at his face.

The brute huffed and hugged Xia more.

"Ya, aren't you the most perverted? Doing this and that in front of people," she shouted.

Long blushed hard. "This.... because he is my lover, ah," he shouted after a long time of silence. "And you are pining after him like a silly puppy,"

Felia got up from the floor and patted the dust off of her shirt. "Exactly.. Why didn't you say he was your lover when we met ah? It's all because of you."

"I...I... Why should I tell you?"

"It's because you were embarrassed to say he is your lover," Felia said with her hand son her hips.

Xia gazed up at the flustered little snake. 'Why is he so flustered for? Haven't we cleared up this confusion as well.' he thought. But somehow he wanted to play with the little snake. He pouted. "Is she telling the truth?"

"NO! You are my darling. I thought you didn't love me enough so...so only I didn't tell her," Long stammered.

"So you doubted my love for you," Xia said with a fake disappointed look.

Long shook his head and hugged him tighter. "No, never. I know that you love me too,"

"Of course I Love You. How much assurance do you need, ah? I thought I assured you enough at that waterfall. Do you need me to do more? I can tast...."

Long kissed him right on the mouth.  "Don't say that out loud. There is a pervert in our midst. She might enjoy hearing about our joyous escapades," he whispered.

Xia nodded his head and leaned against him.

As their spectator, Felia and the maid watched the loving couple force feed them dog food.

"Ah, I wish I had someone so loving," the maid said with sparkling eyes.

Felia gazed at her dazed look and shook her head. "I don't think I can ever be in a relationship anymore. I am forever scarred of men," she whispered, hugging the unconscious little puppy.

She sat next the fireplace and gaze at the stupid couple sitting opposite her

That's how her first love ended. There was no bitter feeling. No broken heart­ just disappointment.

'Falling in love is tough ah. Even more so, finding a straight man is even tougher,' She though with a sigh.

Felia gazed down at the unconscious puppy and sighed once more. 'At least I have found a new puppy through this entire ordeal,' she thought as her mood lifted.

"Should I make you a fur coat? No, I think a dress will look good." She whispered and started rummaging through her ring. She tossed out all the fur coats in it.

Under the watchful eyes of her maid, Felia cheerfully started cutting it.

"Wait for a while, cutie. I will make you the most beautiful dress in the world," she said.

The maid scooted closer and whispered, "Princess, you are cutting it wrong. You should first measure the puppy's body before cutting,"

The princess gazed at her maid with a questioning gaze. "Why should I measure? Wouldn't randomly cutting make a dress?"

The maid subtly rolled her eyes. The princess.... well, she had been different since she was born. She loved swords and brawls rather than sewing and painting. Maybe growing with a lot of brothers had conditioned her growth.

The maid had been with her for almost fifteen years. Over the years she had watched the princess, she had seen Felia being mocked for not being poised and mocked for being unruly. For a while, the cheerful princess ignored their mocking words.

Princess Felia had the strength to beat twenty men when she was just a toddler.

But as she grew up, their words started making an impact on her mental health.

She hid her cheerful deposition with a graceful smile. She learned to lie with a straight face, to smile when she was being mocked.

It was like the familiar princess she saw all her life just.... disappeared.

But now... seeing her happily chop of fur, the maid thought, 'our cheerful princess is back.'

Softly chuckling, the maid helped the princess cut her precious fur coats for a dog dress.

In the cold night, all four of them hurdles next to the fire and went to sleep.

Felia hugged her newly clothed puppy and slept peacefully. Her maid was sleeping close by, hugging the ripped coats.

Shredded fur surrounded them on all sides.

Xia gazed at them with a small smile on his face. 'It's really nice to have friends.' He thought.

A strong arm snaked around his waist.

"Love, aren't you asleep?" the little snake whispered from behind him.

"No, I just.... I feel very happy right now," Xia whispered.

Long Aotian softly kissed his little ear. "Why?" he whispered.

Xia moaned and turned his head a little. "It tickles,"

Long groaned and kissed his red cheeks. "Does this tickle?" he whispered.

"Stop! They are sleeping nearby," Xia murmured and pushed his head away.

The golden dragon shrugged and snuggled closer. He deeply inhaled his lover's scent. But something was different. He could still smell that creature's scent on him. and weirdly so, it was a familiar scent.

He shook his head and sniffed more.

"You still smell like that puppy," Long whispered with a pout.

Xia faced him with his eyebrows raised. "Didn't you kiss and bite my neck so much? Why are you still pouting?"

"But... But your chest still smells different," Long whispered.

Xia narrowed his eyes sceptically. "So what do you want to do about it?"

Looking at his lover, long felt his member rise up again.

Pulling Xia close, Long jerked his hips and ground himself against his soft butt. 

With a smirk, he whispered, "Well I want to make you smell like me completely," he snuggled his head in the crook of his neck.

"Inside out,"

 "But.. Mnn, they are here," Xia moaned, hiding his face in his hands.

Long shot up and held his hands out. "Then let us go elsewhere,"

Note- There will be a mass release of fifteen chapters this friday. And this novel is going premium this week maybe.

Xia Che was a crayfish monster that cultivated to become a human, but from then on he was the epitome of unlucky. 

But because he was friends with a Koi fish, he was able to escape his predicament. 

One fine day the Koi fish disappeared and our silly little crayfish lost his luck. He was all alone for many years until an ugly snake landed on his lap. The snake turned out to have exponential luck.

Xia che: “Let me pet you today as well little worm. I want to trip on a pot of gold.” He rubbed the coarse scales of the snake.

Long Aotian: ‘How dare you try to pet this majestic dragon,’ he bit his offending hands and squirmed.

Xia che: “Stop squirming little worm, I might cook you for dinner instead. I heard humans say that snakes are good for your liver.”

Long Aotian: “You....You”

The little ugly snake changed into a majestic dragon and pushed the crayfish down. He ate till his heart’s content.

"Your Highness," yelled Cynthia. My gods it's probably six in the morning. "Yes Cynthis?"
"The Queen would like to see you in her chambers." Great, what could she possibly want? Everyday she sees me and teaches me how to properly be queen for when mother and father pass into the afterlife. "Tell her I'll be up when I'm dressed for her majesty." 
"She doesn't care about how you look, just go up now!" I looked out the window and Spiritwind is still sleeping while the castle is awake and moving. I tidied up my hair and put on my slippers. Moving toward my door something in my gut was telling me that this will be very bad for me or the town. When getting closer to the chamber time seemed to go so much slower. The Queen's chamber doors were open and there was talking from the inside.
"She's old enough to be married off! So what if we risk peace among the other empires we need to think of her safety."
"Marrying her off on her name day is the dumbest thing I've heard. Why not let her enjoy the chase of suitors like I did as the Princess heir."
"Stop thinking like that we both know that the warlocks and orcs aren't getting on right now!" That took me by surprise because for one mother or father have had an argument for as long as I can remember. Plus when were they going to tell me that things were shaky in the northern empires. I walked in and the King most likely left through one of the many secret entrances in the castle. 
"Good you made it up here and not a moment too soon." How can she go from begging to being happy? If this is what it takes to be queen then I won't have what it takes to survive. "So what did you need me for so early in the morning mother?"
"We need to plan out your name day party and you are going to be my shadow from today for the next few months." 
"B-B-But why so early I mean you're not going to die anytime soon. I mean why not start four or five months after my name day. Let me have some fun staying up late, going to parties, and being chased by every suitor who deems himself worthy to sit on the throne and be my husband."
"I know dear but there are some… um… factors that are in play. Plus your father… ahh… has some other ideas on your name day." Gods no tell me she isn't going along with the King's plan to marry me to another race. My dream of my name day would be dancing with a bunch of gentlemen trying to get me. I wanted a cat chasing a mouse though there would be lots of cats and one mouse. "What does he have planned because the split second I get named Princess heir I get married. I don't want to be told on what to do, when to do it, and how I'm to do it. Surely you understand how I feel because this only happens once like marriage."
"I know dear but you should talk to him yourself to convince him." Then with the moment of silence we could hear footsteps coming up quickly, almost too quickly. I grabbed the sword hidden behind the queen's dresser and got prepared for the possible battle. The King showed up and almost impaled himself when he bursted through the chamber's door. "Rose what the hell were you thinking just pointing a sword straight out at the door. I hope you know you could've killed me."
"That was the point of holding the sword like that, your majesty." He is extremely irritable when it's morning. "Dear you have to understand she was trying to protect herself and myself. So, be grateful you have a warrior as a daughter." As she was talking she went to her windows and opened them. The heat from the summer's sun felt amazing on the cool stone floor. "I guess that is true so thank you for defending yourself and the Queen."
"Your welcome, your majesty. I do however have a question for you as your daughter. If I may ask for your permission father."
"Proceed Rose as your father I will answer wholeheartedly, but be forewarned I may not be able to answer many questions about boy issues," he replied with a wink.
"Father, what are your plans for me on my name day?" Father gave the queen the dirtiest look ever almost as if he wanted to kill her. "Exactly how much do you know about my plan?"
"The most I know you have other ideas. For instance I won't be able to have the normal chance of the chase of suitors like what mother had. I heard you had other plans because of the outside factors."
"Dear before you say anything I feel like she deserves to know what is going on outside." 
"All right but promise me Rose that you won't overact on what I have to tell you."
"Okay father I won't overreact but depending on what it is about I will still stand my ground."
"So… there is a possible war going to happen between the orcs and warlocks. They are still trying to recover from the war we had a century ago. It has been tough so they're trying to go after each other's wealth to survive. With these tensions rising sky high we have ordered our traders to evacuate the areas as soon as possible. The wizards and dwarves were talking about whether we should ditch the century old treaty and allow any of us to cross on to each other's turfs." 
"Okay how does any of this have to play into my name day?"
"It has everything to do with it. The war that could happen in the north might threaten your life. The toss of the old treaty could allow us to be more united and… marry off someone to make alliances with each other." He said that last bit a little too fast that it took a minute to understand. 
 "But father, who would you want me to marry. I can tell you I will not be married to one of those… creatures." 
"Honey we could change the future for your kids and future generations of Kings and Queens."
"I understand but," I froze trying to think of another excuse to change his mind. 
"Serrel, maybe what she's trying to get at is she wants to marry someone who could see warming her bed and no one elses."
"Trust me I will make sure they sign a document saying they can't just go around and warm other women's beds."
"That still won't be enough. How could she marry someone just for her father's pleasure. She most likely feels like she's getting TOLD to love the man she married. If I have learned anything from this marriage is that love blossoms not already grown and given. So maybe we could have wizards and dwarves as her suitors so she can still have the chase every young princess breams of doing after their name day."
"Please father I won't complain if they are trying to court me. I just want to enjoy the chase like what you and mother had many years ago." I must've struck a nerve because he sat there for a bit thinking. I looked toward mother to see if I played the piano correctly. She gave me a quick nod saying I did well now it's up to him. "I suppose honey but the only restriction is you have to treat your wizard and dwarf suitors as you would any other suitor. That is my only restriction with you having suitors." 
"Alright I will do exactly that. Though this may be off topic but why were you running up here?"
"Crap I almost forgot but we possibly got some fake news… because there might be a half-elf in our kingdom that possibly lives in this town as well." How all elves were killed shortly after the Six Empire War. If it wasn't for the Dark Elf we would still have elves as an alliance. Orcs and Warlocks wouldn't be close to war, everything would be just fine. The Human Empire might've had a few Elvish Kings of Queens in our bloodlines. "So when did you learn that there might be an elf in our kingdom? This also seems extremely impossible stating the entire race was killed after the war. How could it even be possible father?"
"Well if you gave me a bloody second to explain it to you just as my guards explained it to me. I found out about half past seven. The royal guards said the redcoats noticed someone with pointed ears last with pointed ears last night around ten. They discreetly followed him around for a few blocks then he noticed them. He took off into the rooftops and lost them in a hurry. The redcoats plan on looking for him this morning and take him as prisoner."
"They only have a hunch because he has pointed ears," asked mother.
"Yes and I guess that is a good enough reason."
"What about their Queen and my daughter? Are we elves just because our ears are slightly pointed as well? This has to be the most idiotic haunch a Human could possibly be!" Why did her majesty have to throw out my biggest insecurity? I know we're not elves but still my ears stick out like a sore thumb. 
"Dear don't kill me for the one order I gave to the redcoats." Mother was clenching her teeth so hard I was so afraid a tooth might fly out and hit one of us. 
"What did you tell them?"
"I told them that if they find his identity. Anyone who gets in the way or tries to lie about not knowing the kid to kill them on the spot." Out of everything the king could have done. He gives an order to kill someone if they try protecting someone they know and love. "Your majesty as the princess heir did you ever think about the possible outcomes from this? This 'elf' could be a normal human like mother and I with pointed ears." 
"As King a couple lives is nothing compared to the massacre that could happen if he is an elf. Plus did you think of how he ran away from the coats. It's almost as if he knows he's an elf."
"The coats have a reputation to beat people for their money because they are supposedly the law. There are many reasons why that kid could have run away. So the next time this happens your majesty think about all of the possible factors that could be in play."
"YOU don't tell ME on how to run MY kingdom. The day you're crowned queen is the day you can do whatever the hell you see fit!" With that he left the chambers and slammed the door shut. I was so shaken up by standing up against my father's decisions. "Well", sighed mother, "you did the one thing I never could have done to my father. That makes me even more confident that you will be a great, powerful queen that I never could have been during my entire reign."
"Mother! You have been running this empire just fine. If I were to run it I'd do it just like you." The Queen's façade seemed to crumble right before my eyes. Normally she is always happy around me and now she's on the brink of tears. "Rose, you need to understand you have a fiery passion that I can't match. You may say right now you would do things like me, but when you start shadowing your young mind will find other ways to do it compared to me." 
How can she have so much hope for me when I don't have any for myself. Then again mother has always expected great things from me.

"That's it for tonight Rose you've had a long day. You should start heading to bed. Remember tomorrow you'll start shadowing me and learning on how it works to be in meetings all day. So make sure you're up here by-" Before Mother could finish there was a knock on the door. 
"Come in," yelled the Queen. One of father's messengers came into the room.
"I have a message from the King." He handed her a piece of parchment and waited for her approval to be dismissed. "You're dismissed and let his majesty know I'll talk to him tomorrow in between my meetings." The messenger nodded and turned on his heels to head out. Once he left the chambers mother opened the letter. After a moment's silence she looked irritated at what she read. 
"What is it Mother?" She was so flustered that she handed me the parchment.
My dearly beloved Queen,
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but our conversation from earlier just now struck me. My guards a little before I wrote this now came with news about our little "elf". The red coats saw him down at town square with a girl that appeared younger than him. They were down there for a couple hours. After a while he noticed the uncommonly large amounts of red coats around town square. So him and the girl both left heading out of town. After twenty minutes the coats sent out two after them but not at an exceeding rate. They followed them to an old shack that was later noted as a rickety "house". They stayed in earshot of the house. A civilian was walking by but the coats stopped her and asked if she possibly knew who lived there the only person she knew was a young man named Thomlinar Twilightblood. Which happened to be the assumed name of our suspect. After she left the two coats heard him yelling. They waited a bit before they would investigate. They started toward the house and saw the same girl from earlier run into the house. They knocked on the door and an older woman answered. Still unknown on how she is related to Thomlinar. The coats asked if she knew our suspect. She tried to lie to them but they yelled and slapped her for doing so. When she landed on the floor she yelled something about going to camp and talk to someone. Before she could finish the one who smacked her decapitated her. They walked more into the house and saw the backdoor open with no sign of the girl or the suspect. The coats tried to follow and find them but failed. 
I'm sorry for this if I knew they were going to kill someone just because they were trying to protect him. In the future I won't make the same mistake but we are still going to try and find him.

"How can he just say sorry about the death of a woman that could've been his mother or the girl's mother? Plus she could've helped us understand him if it means so much to the king!" After reading I was just as irritated as mother. 
"I don't know dear but tomorrow him and I will have an extremely lengthy conversation about this topic."
"Alright mother my mind will be more at ease now you'll be on his case." I left my mother alone and started heading down toward my chambers. I couldn't help but wish Thomlinar and that girl a safe trip to camp. Also praying to Lagenia to have that woman pass judgement and live in Kosaris's kingdom. Then maybe she can be happy being dead and watching those two from above.

A thousand years after the Six Empire War Thomlinar Twilightblood loses his mother in the most crucial way. When returning to camp just three days after he left he later learns that this camp is full of elves. Finding out his father was a full blood elf. Even though elves were supposed to be extinct.

Rostalia who is the princess heir of the Human Empire is approaching her name day. Though it is bringing a lot of political issues. The King plans on breaking the hundred year old treaty in order to keep his daughter safe from the Orcs and Warlocks.

 Evonne woke one week later with an ultimatum for herself. She was going to have a baby. Forget about love. She had all the love she needed right here. What she wanted was a family, and what better way than to have a baby? Being a single mother was perfect. She could give all her love to the baby. 

She had enough to spare and enough laughter to share around the world. She didn't need a man. What with every single man around her acting like jerks and Lotharios, she hadn't time for the emotional rollercoaster of love and heartbreak. 

And thank the Lord, because when that glasses guy Lia, or Darcy, or whatever ditched her, there was no heartache.

 Yes, it was better to have no feelings involved at all, just a clean and sterile transaction, like her dental instruments. But where to find this sperm that wouldn't involve relationships and heartache?

 Then the proverbial light bulb flashed above her head, and she scrambled off her bed in her pink pajamas and went straight towards the phone.

 A few minutes later,  Evonne had an appointment for a consultation at the fertility clinic. "Yes, thank you. I'll pop in at lunchtime. Thanks," she said before placing the receiver down. At last, her first goal had been decided. By the end of this year, she was going to get herself pregnant by way of artificial insemination.

Fluffy blue coats or fluffy pink coats? Blue socks or pink socks? To scan or not to scan? Which room should she put the cot in? How long should she breastfeed? What color should the blanket be? 

What name should she give her baby? Dora? No, too Lothario Like, like that Dora Frey from that movie. Dora? No, too much like Nemo. Bint? No, too simple. Lithonia? Hmmm, sounds nice. "Evonne?" A voice poked through her thoughts.

 "Yes."  Evonne jerked up her head, realizing she had just walked into the dental surgery. "Evonne,"  Susan said, shaking her head at her little boss who was once again daydreaming about who knows what.

 "Wake up from your daydreaming, dear. We have a new representative from the  Bloembergen Hotel asking to speak with you about the upcoming hygiene conference being held in Queenstown this year." 

"Conference? Queenstown?"  Evonne asked, not registering what  Susan had said. "Evonne, my dear, are you getting any sleep at all? Where are you today? Off to La-la Land again?"  Susan asked. This was the usual case for Evonne. 

If she had a certain thought in her mind, it showed right on her face. She had never been good at hiding emotions. "Sorry, I was thinking about some things."

 "Mind telling me? I'm all ears."  Susan loved hearing gossip from her colleague, but  Evonne wasn't ready to spill the news yet. Well, not to  Susan anyway. 

No matter how good the woman was, she was like a wildfire. Give her one small piece of bacon, and she'd turn it into full-on roast beef. "Ah, not at the moment. Still sorting stuff out. When I'm ready, I'll let you know," she said. "Great, darling.

Turning thirty is like a big sale at the meat market. You have to go on a discount before someone starts considering you. 

And that's not the only problem Evonne Willard has to deal with, because right now her biological clock is ticking and she realizes that one morning she might wake up with white hair and a walking cane as her only companion. 

So to soothe her problem,  Evonne has resolved to have a baby.

Enter  Ulysses  Bloembergen, the man that possesses all the traits  Evonne has ever wanted in a mate: tall, hot, smart, and an overall gentleman--all the perfect genes for her baby. All she has to do now is ask him nicely to donate a little sperm so she can conceive.

Excerpt:

When the door opened, a naked torso faced Evonne. Not just any old torso, but a hot, muscled, six-pack naked torso. She blinked and blinked, and then she blinked some more. 

She couldn't understand why a grown man would be wearing a towel, just a single white, fluffy towel wrapped around his waist, to answer the door.

He was leaning against the doorframe, one hand supporting his tall, lean, muscular body that,  Evonne noted, any female would want in her bed, including her. 

Not that she'd bedded any male, of course, since she was still a bloody virgin, for Lord's sake.

"Wake up! WAKE UP!!!"
Anita shook her sleeping daughter up. 
"There's someone out the front. Carlos needs us in the safe room." Maria nodded blearily at her madre. 
"Okay okay, I'm awake. Let's go."
It was 02:36 AM when Carlos stormed into where Anita had been previously sleeping. 
"Up. Now. Get Maria and get to the safe room. NOW!" He yelled. Anita was quick to react and chucked her jumper on.
"Wait!" She cried after him. "What the hell is going on?!" Carlos turned to her and paused, gazing intensely at her face. He sighed.
"Viva's men are out front. You have to go. They'll be after you and Maria. They want to make me suffer, you know that. Now go!"  Anita hurriedly nodded, but before she let Carlos leave, she looked up at his concerned face and kissed him. Her heart would not allow her peace until she had him by her side. Carlos felt a wave of shock wash over him. After their lips parted from that intimate embrace, Carlos turned away and left. He needed to keep his family safe. 
Anita followed him out of the door and jogged to the room Maria was staying in. She looked so peaceful sleeping. She leant over her daughter and shook her awake.
"Wake up! WAKE UP!!" She whispered/yelled. Maria looked up at her mother blearily.
"There's someone out front. Carlos needs us in the safe room." Rubbing the sleep out of her eyes, she sat up. 
"Okay, I'm up." She reached for her crutches and stood up awkwardly. "Uhm… Where's the safe room?" 
Anita's eyes widened realising she had no idea either. 
"Hang on! I'll be right back." She ran out of the room and chased after Carlos who was looking through the curtain in the lounge. He shot a look at Anita.
"I told you to get to the safe room!" Anita nodded cheesily. 
"About that… Where is the safe room?" Carlos groaned inwardly and facepalmed himself. Of course, she didn't know. He never told her. 
"Maria's closet, behind the coats. Like the Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe." Anita thanked him and ran back upstairs where Maria was waiting for her impatiently.
"Okay, remember The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe?" She asked. Maria nodded. "Let's go then." Swinging wide open the wardrobe doors, she lifted up the coats and beckoned for Maria to go through. "I think you'll have to crawl." She murmured examining the space. Maria nodded and dropped her crutches. She dropped to her knees easily enough and crawled through the space which led to a room with a door in it. The room Maria found herself in, was a four ft by four ft space. It was extremely dark, but you could clearly realise that the door was heavy duty. Anita followed her daughter in. She headbutted her daughter's legs before turning back around. She reached into the wardrobe and yanked the doors shut and brushed the coats back down just in case anyone came looking. Neither wished to be found.
The room was indeed dark, so when Anita yanked open the metal door, a light switch was not taken for granted. The door led to a steel room, not too big, not too small, about the size of a small bedroom. Maria and her madre walked in, noticing the metal shelving unit filled with blankets, snacks and drinks.  Anita helped Maria sit down then closed the door behind her and listened as the locks clicked one by one.
"Looks like we could be stuck in here for the long haul sweetheart," Anita said, tugging some blankets down and handing them to her daughter. Maria nodded. She gratefully took the proffered bottle of water and took a deep long sip. The moisture ran down her dry throat and soothed her immensely. Anita sighed heavily and sat down next to her. 
"What a mess we're in, hey?" She said staring up at the ceiling. Maria nodded. 
"A sucky situation alright." She replied. Maria leant her head on Anita's shoulder and mumbled an "I love you." Anita smiled.
"I love you too sweetheart. And Maria? I'm sorry. About all of this. You shouldn't have been dragged into this."
Maria wrapped her arms arounds her madre to comfort her. 
"It's not your fault. It's just life. We'll get past it." She murmured. Anita sighed again.
"You're too mature for your own good. One day you are going to make a beautiful and wonderful woman." 
Maria blushed. She had never been that great at taking compliments.
The two fell asleep in one another's arms.Their relationship was closer than many other mother/daughter bonds. They had been through hell and high water with each other and trusted one another with their lives. The situation that fate had dealt them was unfair. They deserved far better. Maria deserved a father. Anita deserved her true love. But they had both found substitutions in each other. 
So before we go back to their intrepid story, which as I fear may end with tragedy, we'll leave Anita and Maria to rest in their little safe room, and join Carlos as he fights for his family.

"I think the two of you need to talk again," Deo broke the silence. After all the things I've done, Rhio was still thoughtful enough to make sure I get home safe.
"D-do you think Rhio's mad at me?" I stuttered. He surely was.
He pouted, "I wouldn't know. But at that moment…I knew he's about to tell you something important."
I raised my brows, "What is it?"
He shook his head and just smiled.
I was suddenly…greatly curious.
"Talk to him," he suggested, "maybe tomorrow?"
"That's if he'd still want to talk to me after I ignored him," I crossed my arms and stared at the darkness outside.
"I can fit you in his schedule. Leave it to me," he did the okay sign, "And the coat he lent you was worth millions. You should return it."
I knew he was teasing but it was true. I still owe him that. "Sure. And I'll cook something for him as peace offering."
He nodded. And just like the last time, he knew exactly where to take me. I finally understood how he knew where I lived. Money could do anything as easy as knowing where a person lived.
"Thank you, Deo. And tell Rhio my thanks too."
He parked the car, the same Bugatti that Rhio used when I still knew him as Rhion, across the street outside my house. He sped off immediately after I entered the gate. 
"That didn't seem like your boyfriend," Dexter stood by the patio, his arms crossed tightly. 
Was that really my older brother? He sure talked differently.
"He's busy with the guests so I just hitched a ride in his friend's car," I lied.
I've been lying a lot lately. Minus points to Heaven. 
 "Did Derick do something terrible again?"
"He wouldn't. That's a formal occasion," I raised one brow. "And why aren't you sleeping already?"
"Waiting for you of course. Go upstairs and get some sleep."
"Fine," I nodded and went straight to my room. 
Did he eat some kindness pills? In all fairness, it was effective.
As soon as I reached the bedroom, I immediately took off my high heels and threw them in the corner. My feet felt sore from wearing them all night.
The entirety of the day was exhausting so I pulled a towel and jumped on the Jacuzzi for a hot bath. Half-submerged in the lavender-scented water, I inevitably recalled everything that happened.

I pressed the end call immediately and rolled leisurely on the huge bed. On the corner of my eye, I saw the two coats hanging behind the opened closet door. 
One was Rhion's coat…
The other was Rhio's.
I took them both and laid them gently on the mattress. The coats really looked expensive and intricately woven. No doubt it belonged to the CEO of the Zel Cantheliz Corporations. Good thing I didn't lost them or stupidly destroyed the fabric, else I'd be in great debt again. 
I looked up before at Rhion as high as the Twin Towers but now that he's become Rhio, he was suddenly higher than Burj Khalifa. 
He was gotten so unreachable. 
I found myself crazily pressed against the coat's fabric, smelling what was left of Rhio's scent. The perfume he's used still clung at the coat although I've had it dry cleaned a few many times. The fragrance was lasting and smelled more expensive than the Clive Christian perfume collection that Derick has. 
I still felt anxious to meet Rhio once more but whatever… Que sera, sera. Whatever will be, will be. 
I have to give the coats back to him the next day no matter what.
The time ticked away and I didn't notice I've slowly drifted to sleep; the coats still tucked within my arms.
