**RICHARD'S POV** 

My eyeballs were about to pop out of their socket, due to the dare I was given. Obviously I was the king of dares, but Stein was a stone-hearted player. 

He used, and dumped women. Kyla was a boring, and plain girl. She would never catch his attention. I can't do this dare. 

"I can't…" I said and everyone in the room gasped. 

There was a first time for everything. This was the time when Richard Lockwood turned down a dare. It barely counted as a dare, more like mission impossible. 

Joanna had another plot. She made me a pawn in a much bigger game. 

**Kyla's POV** 

My head was in a turmoil. Several thoughts ran through at the same time. 

Joanna over heard our conversation earlier and figured this was the perfect way to get back at us, pin us against each other, and destroy us from within. 

If this Richard guy took the dare, it would indirectly mean being pushed to love the guy my best friend was crazy over. 

No way I could ever try to pacify her, so she won't feel bad. The thought of it already hurt. 

 There was only one option, one thing to do: me backing out of the game. 

I mean, Richard can't try to make me fall in love with someone if I don't want to right? 

The group of students present had not dropped any thoughts on the dare. 

I was still in deep thoughts when someone spoke up. 

"I can't." 

At first, I thought I didn't hear properly until students began to whisper among themselves. 

"He never turns down a dare." 

"He accepts the blowjob, so why can't he do this? He's scared?" 

I listened to their thoughts, and it registered that the voice belonged to Richard. A light in the deep tunnel. If he wasn't going to do it, I did not need to worry.

Richard stated and finally took a look at me. For a few seconds his gaze was all I can meet. Then, I quickly remember my best friend and her pains. 

"You're all making dares about me when I won't even do it in the first place." 

I spat out with an angry look. 

"Buzz kill…" 

Some students mocked. If only they knew how little I cared. 

"You can make your dare but leave me out of it. I'm not interested." 

I added in a firm tone. 

"Actually, that's the point of everything. Getting you interested. The bet isn't necessarily about you per se. It's like when guys make bets about girls. The bet is about you, and Stein, but you can't oppose as you're not the one doing it. In fact, you can't do anything. We both know the only reason you're even saying anything is to try to be a good friend. Everyone knows you'll fall for Stein before it's over." 

She cackled afterwards, Riley got up and stormed out of the room. Joanna's words must have taken roots in her mind. 

"I'm not falling in love with anyone. Like I said, keep me out of your dare. I'm not interested, pick another dare but leave me alone!" 

I exclaimed before running after her. She can't seriously let Joanna get to her. She's spouting rubbish as always. I'm not going to fall for my best friend's crush. 

We've been friends since kindergarten. 

I finally caught up to her trying to get a drink. 

"Riley, wait please." 

"What do you want Kyla? Go back to your game." 

She shoved me slightly. 

"You don't seriously believe what they're saying in there. I thought you knew me better, I'm your best friend. I would never fall in love with a guy you love."

She mocked, grabbed the bottle and walked away. Hot tears stung my eyes and rolled freely down my cheeks, at the middle of the dance floor where everyone was having such a good time.

After sending the DM, she angrily put the phone on the table and Blanche notice that Karina Ana is drunk and she know her that Karina Ana will always tried to DM Howell saying why he can't love her.


Karina Ana gets her phone and cried after seeing Howell's reply. 


Howell: I know you love me but I can never love you, never.

Her friends read the DM and comforted Karina Ana but Blanche never comforted her but she angrily snapped at Karina Ana.

"See? How many times I told you! I dare you Karina Ana you should forget that jerk! I dare you!  You're beautiful but you're chasing a man that never want you! Oh Jesus!" 

Karina Ana cried more until.

"I dare you!  If you can forget Howell and love another man not him he will chase you! You can have your revenge!" Blanche said that made Karina Ana stop from crying.


Okay! I accept your dare!" Karina Ana confidently answered.

"The first man will knock on my heart even he's not my ideal man I will give him a chance."  Karina Ana said.

Karina Ana Chatto experience a one-sided love with her first love named Howell.One drunk night, her friends dare Karina to get over Howell that she love for more than a decade by giving a chance to the first man who will knock on her cold heart after the drunk night and make Howell realize that he lost her, make him chase.

Pst! Remember the truth and dare game? Don't forget that Lyn has yet to do her dare!
...

 So from last night, Lyn couldn't stop thinking about Devon's text; '..let's just see how close it takes for us to be..' and she blushed the more she thought about it, completely forgetting about her dare.
However, her blissful moments did not last long, for soon, Devon reminded her of her dare and being fair, he will of course make Lyn complete her dare too.

"Hey remember the dare you're supposed to do?"

The moment Devon mentioned 'the dare', Lyn's face fell. To think she had actually forgotten about it and only thought of what Devon meant by his text..
Ahhh Lyn you're so dumb! 

"uhh what's my dare again?" She did not really remember it for she was so afraid of her secret and curse that time that she paid no attention to the dare. Yet, she had a bad feeling about it..

"You have to shout [I'M A CRAZY LUNATIC THAT IS IN LOVE WITH DEVON!] "

Devon's mouth curved upwards as he answered. If you actually remembered, the initial dare was to shout 'I'm a crazy lunatic that is in love with Greggy's hair' but seeing that Lyn had no recollection of her dare, Devon decided to changed it to his name. 
I mean, who wouldn't like hearing someone confessing their love to you?
Be it a forced or sincere one, Devon still felt good at the thought having Lyn let the whole world know that she is in love with him. After all, if you're gonna wait for a sincere confession, it's very likely that you could die waiting for it and not even get a single confession like this for such confessions takes a lot of courage. Without a little push like a dare, it's extremely difficult to hear a confession from someone, much less to shout out loud.

wh..what? Did I actually agreed to this? Lyn had a weird feeling when she heard the dare she was supposed to do. It sounds wrongly right but also rightly wrong yet, she don't know what was wrong. Poor Lyn! Just how many times did she get tricked by Devon?

"Why are u hesitating? I already did my dare and truth so you should do it too!" Devon sounded like she was trying to make him do all the truth and dare yet get away with it during her turn, making Lyn feel bad as she did harbour such intentions.

Yet, his words also gave Lyn a further push to having the courage to do the dare. 

Taking a deep breathe, Lyn shouted "I-I'm a crazy lunatic...that is..
she gulped before finishing the hardest words
..in love with Devon!" By the time she finished her dare, buckets of sweats were rolling down her forehead. Devon, on the other hand, was pleased with everyone's reaction.
The whole class, with the exception of Devon, looked at her like they couldn't believe what Lyn just said when they heard her sudden confession, not knowing that it's a dare. 

"Uhh that's..a line from our storyline" Lyn randomly blurted out, trying to convince everyone without revealing that its a dare since you are not supposed to do a dare and reveal its a dare. If not, where's the fun in dares? Luckily, it is Literature now so everyone was convinced by Lyn.
But now, Lyn and Devon have to find a way to include that line when they do the script.

"That sounds interesting! Can you show us the script?" Mr Zin asked with enthusiasm, clearly interested in what Lyn said, although the script did not exist..yet.

Mr Zin's request was so out of the blue, Lyn did not see it coming. At a loss, both Lyn and Devon looked at each other. After exchanging glances, they had an idea.

"Mr Zin, Lyn is too shy to let anyone see the script, even me!" Devon lamented

"ya..can I show y'all only when its done?" Lyn chimed in, grateful for Devon's help

"..Fine, but you have to finish by this week" Mr Zin said reluctantly

Oh great..ahh Lyn why did you say that??? she scolded herself, regretting what she said
Seeing Lyn talking to herself angrily, Devon had the urge to video her actions for it's quite amusing and out of so many people, how many can actually look cute when they're angry? To Devon, only Lyn can portray anger cutely and such moments needs to be recorded. After all, Lyn, too did similar things to him - she doodled him when he's angry so this is just a small revenge.
Actually, Devon wanted Lyn to realise she was being filmed yet she was oblivious to her surroundings, her mind thinking of the script that was due this week yet she has yet to work on it.
Suddenly, as though she remembered something, she turned swiftly to face Devon, shocking him as he did not expect Lyn to move anytime soon.

"Dear lord! You almost made me get a heart attack!" Devon grumbled, half annoyed, half shocked.

"Oh really? Hehe sorry I didn't mean to scare you like that but you look hilarious when you're shocked!" Lyn apologised in a not serious tone, clearly not sorry at all.

But what comes around, goes around. Since Devon tried videoing Lyn's angry yet cute gesture, being shocked by her sudden turn is merely his karma.

"Anyway, why did you turn your head suddenly?" Devon's question brought Lyn back to her objective

"Just want to ask you to help me with the scriptwriting. You'll help me won't ya?" Lyn asked, batting her eyelashes, hoping it will make Devon agree. Although it was not solo work, it was not pair work either so its up to Devon to help her.

"Hmmph!" Devon did not agree nor disagree, merely showing that he's displeased.
If Lyn did not turn around so suddenly and shocked Devon, he'd probably agree but since Devon was annoyed that he not only got shocked by her, the video that he was taking also got deleted when he accidentally pressed the delete button due to shock, he was leaning towards not helping her.

Seeing that Devon is unwilling to help, Lyn had to use the last resort.
"Pleasee? I'll do anything if you help."

"Anything?" Devon raised an eye brow, not really convinced

"yes, anything!" 

"no expiry date?" He inquired again. After being (almost) tricked by Lyn many times, he became more cautious.

"yes, the offer stands for as long as you want so long you help me first" Lyn agreed as long as she does not make a loss.

"Okay, I'll help. You can come to my place to discuss whenever you want" he replied cooly after knowing that he won't make a loss. But if Lyn tricked him again, he swore that that will be the last straw.

Characters in this novel can really forget or pretend to forget about events. Just who's lying and who's telling the truth? You never know. However, one thing's for sure - Lyn have a curse with guys. When she gets too close to one, the guy will suddenly forget everything about her during the moments that they grow close. However, thats not all..?

Am I hearing things? Lyn began worrying about her body as she seem to be suffering from hearing loss at a young age. To make things worse, she also saw things that doesn't make any sense. 
"Oh no..am I seeing things too?"

"Aslam, truth or dare? Which one do you choose?" Ilse asked. 

"If I'm going for truth, she's going to ask me whether I like her or not. She knows that I don't since I just declared that I like Aida, but a direct rejection might be better for a closure…" Aslam thought. "If I'm going for dare, she's going to ask me if I dare to break her heart. To which I'll have to respond that I do, which is unfortunate for her. I think she'd prefer it if I'll go for dare, since that will hit harder. I'm sorry… Ilse…" 

"Aslam, truth or dare?" She asked once more.

"... I go for… dare." He answered.

"Before I'm going to tell you what you should do, there is something else I want to get off my chest…" She said.

"And that is?" He asked. 

"I'm in love with you." She said.

"You are in love… with me…" He said.

"Yes. And I have been for a long time." She said. "Remember the day back in high school when I asked you if there was someone you like?"

"Yeah, I remember." He said.

"Afterwards, I asked you what if you'd fall out of love with that girl. Ever since… I always wanted to test out your loyalty…" She said. "I dare you to kiss me…" She said as she came closer, which surprised him.

Aslam totally didn't see it coming.

Ilse pressed her lips on his, but he quickly pulled her away from himself.

"I told you before didn't I, that I'm already in love with someone else." He said. "And that someone is Aida."

"I see." She said after a silence. "I'm sorry for having kissed you." 

"It's okay." He said after a silence. "I hope we can stay friends though..." He continued uncomfortably.

"You'd still want to be friends with me?" She asked surprised and sad.

"Why wouldn't I?" He asked.

"I tried to make you forget about Aida just now. Silly me." She said with a sad smile.

"How can I be mad at you for being in love?" He asked.

This one question surprised Ilse, and made her realize she shouldn't be hard on herself for the feelings she has. 

"It's normal to have feelings. I mean we are humans after all. What's important is that we deal with our feelings accordingly." He continued.

"Yeah… you're absolutely right." She said. 

Aslam smiled at her. 

She dried her tears and smiled right back at him.

"Thank you, Aslam…" She thought.

Ilse went up the stairs back to the balcony and saw Aida standing at the table.

Aida was on the verge of crying.

"Ilse… I'm so sorry for what I did. It was so selfish of me. I hope you can forgive me for it." Aida said.

"It's okay. Because I was being selfish too." Ilse said. "I tried snatching Aslam away from you despite being aware of the promise the two of you made. I really wanted him for myself, even though the feelings I have for him weren't mutual and even though he was already taken. I'm so sorry for everything. I hope you can find it in you to forgive me. You deserve to know the truth. After Aslam lost his mom to cancer, he moved nearby my place. We went to school together, and went home together after school. We used to have enjoyable interesting conversations, and used to hangout during the weekends with friends… I was in love with him during those days." 

"I see." Aida said.

"One day he told me about you… how he cut off all contact with you and left it all up to destiny to bring you two together, or to leave you two separated. He said that there is no way he would leave you for somebody else, but I wanted to test it out. I wanted to make sure I really had no chance of being with him. Today I confessed my feelings of love to him after he said that he still likes you, and I locked lips with him too. He said that his heart already belonged to you afterwards." Ilse continued.

"He didn't realize that you liked him?" Aida asked.

"Yeah." Ilse answered.

"No surprise. He didn't realize I liked him too." Aida said.

"Please take good care of him, like you've always done when he was still around you." Ilse said.

"I will." Aida said.

"So what I was trying to say… is that I'm sorry for having tried to steal your man and break this beautiful promise both of you made… I regret what I have done…" Ilse said. 

Ilse began to shed tears.

"I'm so sorry! I usually don't do wicked things like this! I just love him and therefore wanted him for myself… I was jealous of you. I'm so sorry." Ilse said. 

Aida gave her a hug.

"It's all good now." Aida said. 

"... But why? I was trying to do something horrible to you…" Ilse said confused. 

"Love makes us all do things we normally wouldn't do." Aida said. "That's because we as humans are prepared to change the very person we are, if it will bring us together with our loved ones."

"I now understand why Aslam loves you and not me. You're a far more better person than I am." Ilse said with a sad smile. 

"You shouldn't say that about yourself." Aida said.

"Friends?" Ilse asked.

"Friends." Aida answered.
