Greetings to all my readers, I wish to say something to you.

Firstly, I want to apologise to all of you. All those who have found this fanfic to be enjoyable, I truly apologise to you for not so inconsistent in writing the chapters of this fanfic or responding to you all. There have been multiple reasons for why I was inconsistent but it doesn't change the fact. I hope you forgive me.

Honestly speaking, I had started writing this fanfic with nothing concrete in my mind. I was just fed up of fanfic in those days that I felt that I must write something better than fanfics with those pussy main characters and all. I didn't expect you all to like this much, however, much can be contributed to the fact that it was one of the first Against the Gods Fanfic here. Nevertheless, I am very glad for all the support you have shown me.

Even before I had started writing this fanfic, I had been writing a novel. It isn't a lewd novel I guess haha... It's something I have been working on since 2-3 years. Its outlook is also not like that of an official novel but still, I have done all I can do alone, writing the novel, editing it and everything. Some friends helped me, but eventually, I completed it by myself.

I am from India, and in 3rd year of my Engineering. I guess I found my passion too late as I had already joined the college and wanted to graduate before working actively in the writing field. However, near the end of my first year, I had already started writing this Fanfic. Perhaps it was because of my lust of popularity or because I also wanted to write a Douluo Dalu fanfic, I started writing about it too. I guess I chewed off more than I could bite. Writing three novels at the same time was far too taxing. Especially when I had to give out regular chapters. I even started using p.atreon to collect money for advance chapters because I wanted to prove to my parents that I could earn through writing as well. My parents were convinced but I was seriously exhausted after a month or two. I couldn't go anywhere and spent all my time on discord or writing.

After that, I was interested in a girl I met online. She was from the same country as me. I was infatuated with her. The time talking to her was so relaxing that I slowly found myself getting out of writing. I slowly reduced my time in writing and started to talk with her more. However, she soon found someone else she liked so I got a little angry. We had a quarrel and I was pretty much pathetically depressed. I know I was in the wrong but I still couldn't control my emotions at that time. I was quite pathetic, I guess. Haha...

Anyway, I am out of depression. I had started watching animes again because of a bit of my free time and study for engineering. (I pretty much failed in quite a few subjects in a few semesters so I had to reappear in those exams again. Had to study all that too...) In a bit of my free time, I read some novels. I tried to improve my writing style and felt that it has improved a lot. During that time, I kept my mind focused on my main novel and kept everything aside. I just wrote something now and then for fun. It was to try out whether it would look appropriate in my main novel or not.

I have said it before but I guess I will say it again, I wish to turn this story into a manga story. I know I am not from Japan, it's probably a little preposterous for me to think of making manga and publishing it. Even after that, I have little hope of gaining popularity. However, I still want to make a manga. I am going to hire an artist and discuss a long term plan with him to ensure that it would come to reality even if it costs me a lot.

Currently, I have released my novel on the Kindle (Amazon), I won't say you must buy it. In fact, I urge you not to buy it if you do not like it. That will be your own decision. I just want you to read the free preview available on kindle, just tell me if you like it or not. I just want to know a bit of your viewpoint if you will like the story or not... I haven't asked anyone known to me to review the novel because the first few reviews I wish for are the true reviews. "New body???" I feel myself getting control and I realize completely this is weird..."What the hell is going on??"

"Argh, we need cover fire over here now!!"

I look up and over completely wide-eyed! to see a beautiful blue-skinned woman?? A blue-skinned woman. "What the fuck is going on? That is an Asari!!" I yell out! "Fuck  I have completely lost it."

"Hey you, Damn it human over there!! With that pistol in your hand lay down some cover fire or get dead your choice!" she yells ..at ..well me.

'I think she was yelling at me.'

RAAWWRR! A loud group rumbling of RAAWWRR breaks through the silence. troops burst in or dinosaurs...

"Fuck they look familiar. Why the fuck is there dinosaurs !!!" I think to myself  'they look really familiar...' 

"Are those fucking Krogan!" I yelled out completely shocked.

"Tink! tink!"
 
'Thier weapons ..... bullets? or light shells?!' Whatever they are just bounce off my armor. 

"Armor?!? Where did I get this from?" (Fuck, least I'm protected!) I scream in my head. 

"They just shot me! Motherfucker`s just shot me! Argh!" I scream at them like a wild dog.

 "Get some yah bastards!" I pulled a gun from I have no idea where.

I draw and open fire. My first few shots going widely but catching the edge of a flickering field. I take it a barrier maybe. If I am in Mass Effect I guess that makes sense.

 System: "Shields down 16% Adrenaline rush activated! " A computerized voice says around me.

The world slows down, I take aim, and fire at the dino... the Krogan! Chest shots and headshots, making bodies pile up around the area. With all the crates and storage containers it must be a  warehouse.  

'Along with the rest of these mercs? or alliance? Or thugs.. who the hell are these people?' I ask myself. 'Ya knows what it doesn't matter, at least they are not shooting me.'

A Krogan comes charging at me I dodge to the side. At least I tried to. I was clipped into the side of a metal container. Daze and slightly more than pissed at myself.

System: Shields down 13%

From the ground, I onload into the side of the dino. 

System: "Reload"

The Krogan swings at me with what looks like a shotgun, the butt of it missing me. All I could do was swing in fear at the mug of the creature. Ignoring the beebing of the system. I got in a fist fight with the dino. (Later I would realize that getting in close combat was a dumb idea.)

I had maneuverability, but it had raw power and toughness. 

System: "Shields down"

It came in for a headbutt I moved to the side it cracked its head on the container. I took the time to reload. I place the gun right next to its head and fired into its eye socket. Ignoring the ding ding noise. I moved back into the fray.

7 minutes later the area is silent. Chink... chink 

"Shit I'm out of ammo." ( Hah hah my breath is ragged and short. (Adrenaline rush over). 

A voice says over my head or around me I can't tell. I take a look at the bodies all over, headshots and chest shots. 

"Fuck something really has to be wrong with me."

 Next thing I know everything fades black.

"Your gonna be ok, we got you, Soldier."  A woman It seems to be hovering over me.

 The woman says to my half-conscious self. 

"Having a 'Soldier' as a Merc, seems to be turning out well, Lady Moldova. Also, the Krogan are all down. The area has been swept." 

An armored (human?) reports in. "Who would have thought one of the 'Soldiers' had it in him. The best contract you ever won Lady Moldova." Moldova nods and replies.

"Yeah your right Chari, let's get the gear and the rest of the recruits. We are back in business, and there is work to be done."

"Yes, Mam!" Chari replies.

"Yup I have lost my mind, might as well just let this pass out happen," I say to myself. "Hopefully this is just a dream." There is no way I am in the place I think I am in.

Elsewhere Far from the scruffle of this Battlefield.

"Program 'LLUVIA' you have found an interesting owner. We look forward to his results." The group of individuals say.

"Yes, Administration I think he will do well. May I join him in the Mass Effect Universe?" Lluvia says with great earnest.

"No, let's see what choices he makes." A voice in the group cuts through the crowd.

A slim woman?? Within the group speaks out. All eyes turn to hear what else she has to say. The power she exudes is not subtle at all. Seems to just roll off her being.  With a very taciturn voice, she begins to address the group.

"We will send you to him in a bit. There is no need to baby him. A little pain and confusion should allow for results .. to be more accurate ... " She says
 "Your user is within my domain and I will enjoy testing him. To the very limit if anyone intervenes I will increase the difficulty."

The others in the Administration visibly shiver.

I know it's hard to stop these plagiarism/stealing thing but I do think WEBNOVEL has to make use of their significant legal resources more effectively and protect their authors. Thus, before they could do that, I will stop posting my novel on this website so my 6 years of work won't go into waste just like that.

The participants had to grow a pair to fight that thing. Its foot was already the size of a freaking bus, which means that the participants were no more than ants compared to its size.
"Ahahaaa. Don't tell me it's still bouncy with that size."
"No way, it has to have some phases. That's how bosses work, right?"
In every game, bosses had weaknesses at which players can exploit to kill them effectively. For example, a lava monster boss could be drowned with a river or heading aggroing them to a safe zone and cheese the fight from there.
However, that was only true for traditional games. Immersion Online is an innovative VR game, it had its bosses as genuine characters especially after the New World Update.
CRACK~

The rabbit stomped its feet and hopped. At the speed it was going, it was close to half the speed of sound.
Stomp~
As it landed, it crushed numerous players under its feet, eliminating them from the game. It scratched its ears as if it didn't consider the participants a threat to its wellbeing.
"Ah, we're in trouble, aren't we?" Clive spoke as if he was giving up, and yet he couldn't cover the wide grin he had plastered on his face.
"Well, let's face it now, shall we?" Malignant said. Just like Clive, he was eager to fight the monster.
A level 400 monster. It didn't make sense to have players who were less than level 300 hunt a monster of that caliber. However, that was only for regular boss monsters. Clive, Malignant, Bannex, and Molasses all knew that this bunny was only level 400 in its physique.
"It has no other way of attacking, or at least I think so. Go test it out, Bob," suggested Clive.
Their conjecture was correct. The bunny did indeed have no skills other than its hop. It only had the stats of a level 400 boss and the appropriate HP value. This was to appropriate the survivability of the monster when it's under attack by a thousand players simultaneously.
"Okay!" Bob immediately ran towards the huge monster, and following him was an eagle named Lavanuk.
"Squawk!" She squawked, wanting to look majestic in the presence of a lot of people.
But before Bob could approach the big bunny, it jumped once more and a group of unlucky fellows was squashed like beans. This happened numerous times, annoying Bob to no end as the number of participants dwindled.
While he was busy running like a dog cut loose of its leash, participants who had ranged capabilities fired spell upon spell, arrows were strung by bows and poisoned daggers were thrown. Their combined efforts managed to scuff away a portion of its health, but it wasn't looking good.
However, they observed that with every jump, the bunny was shrinking, almost as if its energy was depleting. Their observations were correct as the bunny became the size of a house in a few more jumps.
"This is its weak period. Everyone, attack!"
The participants unleashed their fury upon the best, especially the melee attackers who were quite useless until now. The bunny's strides grew smaller and smaller, allowing the players some time to deal some damage.
"Blade Burst!"
"Eminence of Jury!"
"Burning Howl!"
They all contributed towards injuring the beast. It was their chance to kill it as it was now manageable, but almost everyone fell back as it became a normal-sized bunny. They weren't idiots, the weak phase was coming to an end, paving the way to the next round of pounding, save for one person.
"Hey! Get back!"
"It's going to explode!"
BOOM!
The same lightning flash from earlier displayed its might once more. And just like the lightning, the same horrific bunny imposed its presence upon the survivors.
"Ah shit. Here we go again."
"Hey look! There's a guy on its head!"
"Woah, he didn't die from the lightning explosion?"
The participants looked at the man who was brave enough to stay on top of the monster. Surely, the lightning should have decimated him to pieces, so they assumed that he's either injured or about to die now.
STAB~
"SQUAWK!"
The eagle who remained with the player pecked on the bunny's eyes, proccing its passive 'Kindle' that ignites the whole body of the affected enemy.
And although Kindle didn't do much damage, the visual effect it had was astonishing.
SIZZLE~
The huge bunny was on fire from head to toe, alerting the participants. Now, it was befitting of a Bunny of Hell as it jumped around while burning to death.
"Sugarcoat."
Stab!

Bob repeatedly stabbed the creature, but to no avail. He couldn't do any critical strikes as it was far too large for him to pierce its muscles and hit its organs. He had to do something bold.
"Put all stats into STR!"
[Investing 600 Death Deity stats into STR, are you sure?]
"YES!"
[600 Death Deity Stats invested in STR.]
Bob's muscles bulged upon suddenly gaining unprecedented power. The unusual feeling was further magnified because of his next action.
"Calorie BURN!"
He was ready to sacrifice everything just to subjugate this monster. His stats now outclass anyone in the game simply because of the title effect of Death Deity and the broken mechanic of corruption towards his skill, 'Calorie Burn,'
"Lavy! Help me out!"
Lavanuk knew what to do. His promise to himself was useless, and even May gave up on stopping him from using it again. He had his sugarcoated spear absorb Lavanuk's flames, creating the ever-hungry chaotic flame.
[SQUEAL!]
The monster did not sit by and let itself get pierced. It noticed the pest on top of its head and struggled to shake it off. Bob should have fallen from its jumps, but he dug his spear onto its head and managed to stay despite being rammed into the ground several times.
Once the monster calmed down, Bob retracted his spear to set up for a large swing.
"HUNGER STRIKE!"
Finally, he used the skill he's been keeping for quite a while now.
