Based on her reaction, Hao Ren was pretty much certain: The woman before him was the foreign visitor they were looking for.
Since Becky was around, Hao Ren had to go in a roundabout way to hint at his motives. "We came from the village of the mountain folk. We heard of your story there. We are researchers, specialising in teleportation magic..."
That very last sentence had Hao Ren feeling guilty, so much so that he did not have the heart to face Becky, who had a puzzled look on her face. Even if she was dumber than Lily (she is not), she would have at least treated what Hao Ren said about teleportation magic with a wee bit of suspicion. But for the blonde woman, it was more than enough. She was almost about to turn and leave before Hao Ren's words froze her in place. "You are...researching teleportation magic? What sort of level has this place reached?"
"Pretty strong I'd say. More than enough to help you out at the very least." Hao Ren laughed drily. "Truth be told, we actually heard the details of your story from the wolves in the plains. Let's just say your tale caught our interest and we've been chasing after you ever since."
The foreigner did not actually tell anyone in the mountain village about another world, but she did share it with the wolves by accident. When Hao Ren brought up the wolves, the dots were immediately connected. However, a suspicious look still appeared across her face despite her apparent eagerness for aid. "You would just help me? What for? What's the price?"
When the lady was that blunt, Hao Ren was relieved. She no less had the sense to not trust a stranger she just met. And of course, her suspicion of a group of strangers claiming to be masters of teleportation magic was well founded. With such bluntness, the chances of her being from another world was much higher.
Vivian gave her a warm yet confident smile. She was the most well-versed in communication among all of them. "What if I told you it's just a researcher's curiosity..."
The blonde woman slightly raised an eyebrow. Apparently, something within her was triggered by Vivian's words. Seemed like this story would work.
"All of us are researching the theories of interdimensional travel," Hao Ren quipped as he noticed Vivian's ploy working. "Well, you could say it's almost a niche form of study. Not only is the research itself difficult, we've also faced a lot of discrimination and suppression of our works. Our thesis was rejected after three hard years of writing, our lecture on the topic was banned too. Heck, our attempts to discuss it with a few other students almost got us labelled as heretics for spreading blasphemy... Research shouldn't be this difficult..."
Hao Ren waxed lyrical at that point and the blonde lady seemed to understand where he came from. She nodded vehemently. Becky on the other hand was gawking at the "professional researchers" around her. She never though the bunch, which did not seem anything like your typical wizard would have such a tale. This probably explained why they were such a weird bunch. Hanging out with the same lot for 10 years would probably do anyone in...
After a while, Vivian found Hao Ren getting carried away and nudged him on the shoulder. "I think that's enough..."
Hao Ren quickly regained his composure, ruing that he almost spoiled their chances by over-dramatising. "So, all in all, we're determined to see our research through, and to us, you are a very rare specimen, provided you're not lying. Sides, we came all the way from the plains to look for you. At the very worst, our intentions are genuine."
The blonde woman frowned a little. It was clear that she would not have trusted anyone just from words alone, but her situation demanded that she seized any chance, however miniscule. She was alone in another world and she had yet to meet anyone capable of helping her. The place itself was foreign to her. Even her quest to the Blood Lake was based on a rumour, but it bore a chance for her to return home. Things could not get any worse for her in any case.
Desparate for help, the blonde woman nodded at Hao Ren after regaining her composure. "I can swear that what you've heard from the wolves, and in the village is true. If you can bring me home... I'll pay any price... Anything. What do you need? An immortality spell? Rare gemstones? Herbs and medications? I even have some rare spices and incense from my home. You can choose any of them..."
As the lady spoke, she rummaged through her pouches for the items she had mentioned. She had probably entered this world in a hurry, and was bereft of any form of luggage. But, the items she possessed could have easily made her rich here.
However, Hao Ren was not interested in those things. "I don't need them..."
She threw Hao Ren a surprised look, and after noticing the composition of his group, she took a few steps back, alarmed. "You already have so many female companions... This is difficult for me... I—I have already taken the vow..."
Hao Ren was dumbstruck by her reaction. "Who was talking about that?! Can't you stop being so imaginative?"
Y'zaks shrugged with a hearty laugh and he patted Hao Ren on the shoulder. "Seems like I'm being ignored."
Her eyes immediately widened again as she looked at Hao Ren and Y'zaks. Biting her lips, she went, "This is even more difficult that I thought... If your interest is..."
"... If you are insisting on going that way, I don't think we can ever cooperate." Hao Ren was almost green in the face by then. He was taken aback by the astute woman's imagination and her blunt way of speaking. Who the hell talks like this to people they meet for the first time? Things like this are usually kept to yourself, no? "...Talk of compensation can come later. But rest assured, we won't demand for something that we won't do ourselves. Our motive is simple, we are looking for a partnership in research. "
The blonde woman was late in catching Hao Ren's displeasure. She realised that she had spoken too much, too directly. "I'm sorry... Our kind speaks from our hearts. In fact, I have come to ascertain that your kind acts very differently from ours."
Hao Ren noticed her serious look and understood that the lady meant no ill-will. Her kind probably treasured candor over flowery languages. He proffered his hand to her, "Let's introduce ourselves. I'm Hao Ren."
The lady looked at Hao Ren quizzically as she returned his handshake. "I'm Hilda. Hilda Vader."
The group quickly introduced themselves as well, even the ever-so confused Becky. Hilda had only introduced herself by name and nothing else. She clearly had some reservations about the group. Hao Ren was certain that the ice would break soon enough. As soon as they were able to find a time where Becky was not around, they would reveal their true identities.
"...So...what's next?" Becky still wore a confused expression as she spoke. The group was so relaxed by then that she thought they had completed their quest. "I thought we were looking for the Orb?"
"We are," Hao Ren said as he waved her off. "But, you know...I'm a scholar..."
Vivian and Wuyue coughed drily by the side.
Hilda did not seem to be unperturbed by the ruckus. She was only concerned about going home. She took the opportunity to ask Hao Ren, "So, when do we begin? How do you plan on sending me home? I thought you were just theorists and have yet to find any success? Let's start from more practical tests then. I have expertise in this..."
"Calm down. We don't need to rush this." Hao Ren was taken aback by the rapid fire questions and waved his hand to calm Hilda down. "We too have some things to clarify with you before hand. This place is definitely not where you want to talk about it. We are heading to Beinz after this. There's a rest station there, where we can have a breather. Let's talk about it when we get there. Even a teleportation gate will need a proper spot, won't it?"
"The Blood Lake? I'm heading there too." Hilda heard the mention of the Blood Lake and nodded as she slowly calmed down. "You're right. We need to exchange information. I'm not even sure if you are able to help... Wait a moment, I need to do something about my treant protector."
As she spoke, Hilda ran towards the burnt out husk of a tree giant to perform some sort of magical ritual. Hao Ren took the chance to contact his MDT. "Say, can we bring someone out of The Plane of Dreams?"

Chapter 827 - Sword King Black Flame
As Shi Feng entered the elegant reception room, he did not bother with disguising his current Level.
The robust man's gaze fixed on Shi Feng, confusion filling his eyes.
A Guild in Star-Moon Kingdom actually had someone higher-leveled than the number one player on the Glory Empire's Ranking List. No matter how he thought about it, this was inconceivable.
Their levels were already quite high, so they required a tremendous amount of EXP to level up. It was especially true for leveling from Level 39 to 40.
All those who held their rank on the Ranking List practically grinded without rest. Moreover, ordinary experts could not compare to their efficiency. Usually, these rankers had groups to lure and damage monsters for them. When the monsters dropped to their final strand of HP, these rankers would strike the final blow, taking the majority of the monster's EXP. This was the 51st ranking expert on the God's Domain Experts List, the Sword King, Black Flame.
Ordinary experts might not realize what such a rank implied, but as an expert from a Super Guild, Ordinary Stranger understood what it meant.

"You're looking for my help? Interesting. King's Return is a Super Guild. Is there truly anything your Guild can't do in God's Domain?" Shi Feng said, laughing.
"Guild Leader Black Flame, you jest," Ordinary Stranger said hurriedly. "We really need your help with this situation."
"Alright, tell me; what business do you have with me." Shi Feng waved his hand dismissively.
"Recently, we've heard that Zero Wing plans to buy some of Snow Field City's Lands. We would like to dissuade you. In return, King's Return will provide Zero Wing with a plot of Light City's Land, allowing the Candlelight Trading Firm to develop there," Ordinary Stranger explained.
Although Snow Field City was the third largest city in the Twin Towers Kingdom, its player population could not compete with Light City's. The difference between the two cities was simply too massive. Even an extremely ordinary plot of Land in Light City was far more valuable than Snow Field City's golden Lands.
"Can you tell me which plot of Land you are offering?" Shi Feng was slightly surprised. He had never expected King's Return to be so generous.
Only the extremely wealthy could afford Land in imperial capitals. Moreover, even if one managed to purchase one or two plots, without the endorsement from the city's ruling Guild, one's business would fail. I can say, yes, kind of some certain elements were similar to this story, other elements were purely fictional. like this is a completely imaginary world in comparison to the real world. so the events that happen in this fiction world entirely come from the author's mind. the author is responsible for all of the events that occurred in this universe. so basically speaking, we are just a part of that universe (author's universe) the action occurred in here within us and in our surrounding is interpreted by the author, we are not self willing to do things by ourselves. we are just creations who have to walk on the path created but the author. unlike in the real world, where people were free to do whatever they want."

"so basically there are different genre of tales for the writer to pick for himself to write. he does that first. then an interesting topic he chooses. the topic and tales were either depend on a real incident or entirely fiction or mix of both for a spicy taste in the story. but first of all the write gain the information about the topic he was going to write it's either fiction or based on real events. if he didn't do that the reader might misunderstand or misjudged his creation in the time being. when the research work he did.
with his skills and knowledge, he shows his work through writing. either the writers pick topics from there environment directly, we call them real-life based/ events. hence are valid to state them as true. or the author just takes influence from the environment. if I explain that in details It would be- the author picks things up from the environment and add it to the fiction. like names of the characters which can be based on the real names of the person. places names will be similar. the similarity of culture and tradition in fiction and real-life and many more like that. this matching of materials makes things go easier for the writer and time saving he does not have to make an entirely complete system of organisations of its subjects. but that doesn't mean his creativity is limited up to this. as an author he can do whatever he wants, I am trying to say that, he can either take true events as a topic or take influences for the environment or can make entirely new systems in his creations all by himself."

"as I have mentioned earlier. most of the time author pick something from their current environment. it is a lot easier for them. instead of thinking something completely different. or as if I talk about the genre of fiction, it, itself diverse into may category like science-fiction, war-fiction, historical-fiction etc. writer search on these events first, like in a historical-fiction the writer's research were their clothes, community, what meal they have and how their lifestyle and events that occur at what period/era. so it was an example of fiction that has taken its plot from environment factors. either there is a common similarity between them, they still consider as fiction due to the story and characters based on the story were imaginary. likewise in science-fiction author either pick its material from the current developing science-based on a futuristic view which is completely nonexistence in the present time but might be possible in future. materials from this fiction are completely imaginary and are harder to write due to the consumption of more creative power for the author. as for some events were also similar in here based on their research. but due to falling into the category of fiction they might occur in real life, the whole story can still consider as fiction. but as you speak for the factors I would say-
that the entirely plat and storytelling is based on the author mind. through his emotion and research, he binds his creativity together."

This is Mint. this story's main Protagonist. you guessed it right, I like men. like a lot, literally. yes, I am the one, belong to that 10% population which consider as the minority, The LGBTQ+. but if you take aside the sexuality agenda, I'm a normal person like you. I have a family, friends like more than brother and sister. suitable college life and a friend that I have a crush on. My heart-eating me out of worry. this is a case of emergency, of course, I would. why not. but nonetheless, I wasn't thinking straight. 
when I started to think, why I was running so desperate to the first destination. when I received the location like this crazy? I might say I can't judge myself for what reason my heart is shouting me to 'run' fast as I can. move my feet as I can, towards the person it might desire to take a glimpse to his safety.

yes, I am figuring out myself too, why? why him? why this particular person my heart has a desire to see this extensively out of anyone in this entire planet right now?

The upper phase might not be a question. but it might rather be it's an answer to itself. I just have to figure out what.

This story isn't important to the story of Kryta, however I write this to grasp what kind of person Emily is and how she will indirectly impact the story for Kryta in upcoming events. You should know who I am. Whether you do or not is up to what has been told, and based on that you should be able to infer who I am. I am not the darling narrator but I am the true protagonist of this story...Or at least that is how it goes.


What has happened to me was the most awful act committed by the gods, and I mean it was one of the most atrocious sins committed by them yet, in both new and old. What was this act you may ask? It's simple, I have been reincarnated, or transmigrated into another world.

I vividly remember being held tight against that man with a knife against my throat, the horrible feeling of despair and dread as I helplessly hid under my bed as my parents screamed in pain and agony. The pit of absolute terror and dread forming in my stomach I felt when they went silent. They no longer breathed, the longer screamed in pain, they longer struggled or made a noise. They just stayed silent. All I heard were the heavy panting of the man who had taken the life out of two creations of god.


I remember laying on my side and hugging my knees as I silently mourned for the fate that had befallen my parents. I remember giving it my absolute all trying to stay quiet as my tears couldn't cease from falling. I knew I didn't have to mourn for them, for there was an unavoidable danger that still lingered. I hugged myself as I stayed hidden underneath the bed as I whimpered. My fate was sealed the moment I was born, that was an undeniable truth.


My breath hitched as I went silent when I heard the man walking towards my room. With each step of death that man took, I shook and shook more than I ever had before.

There it was, the undertaker that'll take me either to hell or heaven, perhaps the former.


I did my best to stay quiet but as soon as the door opened, I couldn't help but cry and cry and cry even more as I hit the bed countless times from my vigorous shaking.


The man just stood there as I cried uncontrollably. I couldn't even hide from him as I am tall and hiding a six foot tall person is the easiest.


The man walked towards the bed and sighed as he bent down and pulled me out.


I cried as I stared at the floor now sobbing uncontrollably. I tried standing up to make a run for it but my shaking and panic prevented me from doing so.


I cried even more as the seconds went by and the man wasn't doing anything.


I finally got the courage to look up and saw him…


Did you know you're most likely to get killed by someone you know than a random stranger?


I opened my mouth to speak but I parlyzed in fear and dread. I always made fun of the characters in movies who just stood there as danger ran towards them. Why didn't they move? They could have easily lived if they had so why didn't they? Fear and absolute dread is why.


My crying became even worse when I saw who it was. My tears were so much I couldn't see. My heart felt so heavy with guilt, regret, sadness, anger, and confusion, my stomach feeling empty yet full, I feel sick.


Before I could say or even do something the man suddenly kneeled down and embraced me in their blood stained arms. He held me close to his chest, he began to apologize and said some morbid words in an attempt to comfort me. I couldn't move and just when I thought my crying couldn't get worse, I cried even more and more.


"I'm so sorry little one...You know what happens to those who speak. They knew this was bound to happen and brought you into this world knowing full well what could happen to you. You don't deserve such a fate , little one. I swear it'll be all over soon, just bear with me a little longer.", he had made me face the ceiling as he whispered these words. I would much rather that he'd be a stranger than someone who I know.


With a knife pressed against my throat the man did his best to keep me from crying and shaking. I hate this man with everything, I hate this man more than I hate those who did me wrong, I absolutely loathe this man.


I felt my skin spit and the cold metal in. My blood began trickling down my neck as slowly began feeling tired. The once metallic red smelling red began to be senseless as it became harder to keep my eyes open.


People say there is a light right when you're about to die, but I didn't see any light. It could be that because I had my eyes closed I didn't see said light but that is of no importance, because that wasn't the end of my story.


I should have stayed dead the moment I died in "his" arms. I wanted to stay dead. I don't want to be anywhere else where I'm not with my parents. Why do I, a child, need to make these decisions? I just want to rest.


After this, I had woken up in a dark space, a vastless space of absolutely nothing, no color, no dust, not one atom.


I don't know how long I have been here as time seems to be nonexistent. I slowly began to forget I had even been alive at some point but that vastless, empty space soon began to liven up when that shadow came along…


It told that I am loved by the gods and had been given a chance to live again. I tried saying no but my hand moved on my own and I grabbed the quill and signed the contract. That white shadow, despite not having any visible eyes, looked at me with a look of distaste and hate. I don't know why it looked so but it seemed more than happy to push me into this new world.


I didn't really try to stop it the moment I signed the contract. I really didn't want to live once again if I wasn't with my parents. Loved by the gods? What a crude joke.


When I had woken up once again in an empty, elegant, princess like room. After many days in this world I am more convinced that this is an awful joke played by the gods.


Bright, platinum blonde hair, shining, vivid blue, doll like eyes. With fair skin with no hint of a single blemish, I am undoubtedly no other than the No Name Princess. I am the villainess of a romance novel I had read not long ago before the murder.


Huh…


I want to go back. Whether it be for revenge or to live on with my friends, I want to go back. I don't belong in this world, I belong where I had lived. I shouldn't even be alive according to the laws of nature. When I go back and everything is settled, then I can finally rest.

Hello readers, I am the author Risk bringing you a story that my other personality Dark wanted to read. We share the same body, although he is in the light most of the time. I was granted the light in order to give him something to read. He is the side most people see while I am where all his fun and carefree feelings went to.(You're actually cynical and insane tho) 

Moving on tho, this story will be written using characters and world building created from the canon. After all the idiot Dark wants to see a story that doesn't have a dense protagonist, or someone that doesn't enjoy life. Dark himself works 12 hours a day while I'm up for the other 12. Doctors still don't understand how we're alive tho. (I agree with you there Risk.)

In this novel there might be only one world or multiple, but for right now I will be focusing on the first. Character traits and personalities may differ from the canon due to the mc, so shove it with the thoughts that things don't match. 

Lastly this is a work of fiction, any and all characters are not mine, but figments of imagination based on books and animation. Come at me people for I don't care, however leave Dark out of this. If not i will find you, and you will never know, after all i might be your neighbor, friend, family, or even a stranger.

"Ah…"
He checked the familiar white jade ceiling, crystal chandeliers and a large window wall in his room, before showing a relaxed look which had not come upon his face in quite a while.
Wait… 
My bedroom has been touched?
He frowned immediately.
With the sharp alertness he gained in the previous month during which he battled against monsters in the woods, combined with the superior perception he was born with, he immediately detected something odd. 
Based on memory, he could clearly remember the positions of his furniture, such as how the extra-sized blue-and-white porcelain vase in front of him shouldn't be pressed against the red wooden flower cabinet like how it was right now. There should be a gap between the two objects. Also, the tip of his 12-inch gilded pyramid model was supposed to be precisely pointing at the central axis of the silvered European standing clock. At the moment, however, it was tilted to one side.
A thief broke in?
Ji Ye's expression instantly turned serious.
He owned this three-story apartment building, which was given by his parents, all by himself. Even though Yang City was only a Tier 4 city, such a large house was still worth over ten million and was protected by devoted 24/7 security. With him specially giving instructions, he had never encountered any problems when he went out to work.
Did something else happen here when he was trapped inside the Land of Inheritance? 
Did something important happen on Earth as well?
Like some kind of spiritual energy awakening, an alien invasion or a world-ending apocalypse?
At least the peaceful scenery and orderly pedestrians outside the window didn't suggest such things.

Ji Ye noticed that a short-haired young man was standing on the balcony on the second floor of the villa.
He was talking to the black cellphone in his hand.
"Aye, I've been watching. Nothing to report yet. Oh come on, give it a break, old man. You know you can trust me. Oh, right. Don't forget to bring me some instant noodles when you come. The sour flavor. I haven't had any lunch—"
On the balcony on the second floor of the villa, a short-haired young man wearing a black windbreaker was chattering nonstop on the black phone.
"Who is it…"
The man heard noises coming from behind and quickly turned around to check. 
Whoosh!
He was answered by Ji Ye, who just jumped down from the bedroom on the third floor. Using his new Seven-Sided Mantis Fist, Ji Ye's punch created a sharp noise in the wind.
"It's you—"
However, the crew-cut man was exceptionally agile. 
Trained by professionals, even. With a quick defense move, he was able to parry Ji Ye's punch.
Still, the Mantis Fist art was not all about one hit. The core of this art was using a combination of quick attacks that followed the first attack in succession. Using all of his body parts such as his head, shoulders, wrists, fists, feet, waist and knees, Ji Ye unleashed a flurry of consecutive assaults at the stranger.
The stranger might be good, but after losing the upper hand, he only managed to fend off a few more strikes before Ji Ye's hand-chop landed on the side of his neck, hitting his artery.
"You… Ji… Ji…"
The man's eyes rolled up as he collapsed on the floor, unable to finish his speech.
"Oi, Xing. What's going on over there? Someone's fighting? Ji? Did the target return? Xing??"
The logo-less cell phone was dropped nearby during the fight, which was broadcasting someone's panicked voice.
"Target? He has returned after going offline!"
Ji Ye knitted his bushy, blade-like eyebrows again.
He didn't believe the man he had knocked out was a petty thief. Those reflexes and fast moves were too good for a thief.
"Who are you?"
Ji Ye picked up the phone and asked aloud. Though he more or less had an idea about what was going on.
"Isn't—You're not Xing! 
Are you Mister Ji Ye? We came from the Confederation Office. What did you do to Xing?" 
On the other end of the line was a middle-aged man's voice. He was stunned for a moment, but he quickly reacted and spoke with a slightly anxious tone.
"He's alive. He just needs some time to wake up. And… the Confederation?"
Ji Ye frowned as his guess was mostly confirmed.
"We're a special department working under the International Confederation to investigate the Land of Inheritance. Only the elite members from the military and police forces from various cities are involved!
"Mister Ji Ye, you can check Xing's ID for confirmation. He should be carrying it. I—I'll be there in a moment. Please, stay there so we can talk once we meet." 
The speaker appeared relieved after learning that his man was safe. 
He did those explanations as quickly as he could.
"The Confederation Office…"
Ji Ye hung up and found a black credential with the national emblem embossed on it.
Ji Ye knew that the other party's words were most likely true.
This also meant that he shouldn't be surprised. 
The message of the Land of Inheritance was announced to all of humanity, after which a million candidates were magically teleported away. Of course the whole world would look into this matter. 
Not to mention that the Confederation would do a good job coordinating everyone.
The International Confederation was a united force joined by different countries and regions, and was founded after World War III, which had caused some apocalyptic consequences including radioactive pollution to this world. As time went by, more countries and regions joined in, making the Confederation the top commanding force for all humans in recent days.
[Author's note: consider the main stage as a different world based on our real world. But it's not the same. This is important!]
So… I saw an agent of the Confederationhim as a thief the moment I came back, then I knocked him out cold.
Ji Ye checked the ID in his hand and glanced at the sleeping "intruder," who was probably a soldier or a police.
All things considered, Ji Ye didn't feel sorry for punching this man at all. 
The empty cola cans and snack bags all over the room told him that this man had been occupying his home uninvited for quite some time. 
As the owner of the house, he was not pleased.
Guess he deserved it then.
Being constantly monitored by the Confederation and media, the authorities very much valued laws and their images. 
Home privacy was a rather important matter modern people cared about. Ji Ye was sure he wouldn't be the one blamed. 
Time to hit the Internet and look for information.
After tossing the intruder's ID back, he powered up his PC and began searching for the keyword "Land of Inheritance."

12 Reasons Why Hitting Rock Bottom Is The Best Thing That Can Ever Happen To You
About four years ago, I had flat-out hit rock bottom—emotionally, financially, mentally, and spiritually. The crash was painful in every way, and I finally had no choice but to face myself brutally, painfully, and honestly.
Years later, I look back with immense gratitude for the incredible gifts that time bestowed upon me. It instilled in me a deep trust that the universe actually did have my back, contrary to external appearances and bank balances.
You might think I'm crazy for saying this, but I'd do it all again, in a heartbeat, for the incredible insights and growth I gained through what were most definitely my darkest hours.
But like any good adventure, it's only worthwhile if you come back having learned some solid lessons and with wisdom to share from having survived the fall. And so, with twenty-twenty hindsight, here are my top 12 reasons why hitting rock bottom is a good thing, and why everyone should aim to hit rock bottom at least once in their lifetime:  
Reflection and Realization
At the bottom, you realize just how far off course you were, and that your life choices were simply not sustainable. It's in those dark moments of despair that your anger and frustration become so great and you declare once and for all to never again accept such mediocrity from yourself or from others.
Seeing your dysfunctional behaviors
At the bottom, all your dysfunctional behaviors are finally revealed. If you never hit your lowest point, the dysfunctions continue to go unnoticed and unchecked, playing out under the denial radar and inevitably creating bigger dysfunctions and a harder fall down the track. Until the bubble bursts, you cleverly delude yourself into thinking everything is juuuuust great—and your life ends up being built on a big, fat lie and a false foundation.
Gaining Fresh Perspective
Hitting rock bottom is the beginning of questioning everything that you've ever thought to be true. You question your motives, other people's motives, your beliefs, your fears, why you did things, why you didn't do things, why you attracted certain people and circumstances, why you succeeded, why you failed. The very fabric of your life is turned upside down and examined in raw detail. It's from this point that you build again, from the ground up, with a fresh perspective based on your renewed sense of clarity.
Self-awareness of Bad Habits & Behaviors
At the bottom, your disempowering patterns and behaviors become glaringly obvious, and the triggers that kept you repeating those behavior patterns come into sharp focus. You let your ego run the show with grandiose ideas about what you could do—not knowing you didn't yet have the foundation to successfully accomplish those things. Ego's death grip loosens when you come to this realization; you start to trust life and choose to live in the moment more often. As you surrender to your higher self more and more, you align with your right purpose and right life path. And it feels good.
Humility
You gain humility. You see that life is not black and white and that you don't know everything. In fact, you realize you know very little, and you decide to become a student of life rather than a juror.
Compassion
You gain compassion. You understand what it's like for people in the depths of despair, shame, guilt, and fear. You can't help but come back from the bottom feeling immense empathy with the human condition.
Letting Go
You're able to let go of everything because nothing is working anyway! Letting go of the old creates space for the new and soon new ideas, people, opportunities, talents, and gifts start to flood into your experience. As you empty your cup, so to speak, you fill it back up with stuff that you actually want, instead of accepting what was unconsciously passed onto you. Life hands you a fresh cup of reality.
Taking Responsibility
After you've hit the bricks, you—perhaps for the first time—begin to accept full responsibility for all the outcomes in your life. You see that blaming is futile, that complaining is dumb, and that making excuses is for the unenlightened. You realize it was you who created all the good and all the bad in your life. You dug the hole in which you're trapped, and only you can dig yourself out of it in order to finally become whole.
    10. The Only Way is Up
The good news is, once you've hit rock bottom, you know you can't possibly go any lower. You realize the bottom is actually a great springboard from which to push yourself up to the surface—away from the darkness and back into the light.
Trusting Yourself
Hitting rock bottom wakes you up to how you were relying on externals to make you happy. Instead of needing outside validation, you begin to trust yourself and start the journey within to find your own sense of self, your own sense of purpose, and your own validation. This new inner sanctuary becomes the foundation for your happy and meaningful new life.
Gratitude
And finally, after hitting your lowest point, you become enormously grateful for all that you have from that time forward. You're sure that your situation can only get better from here, and it does. Simple things—a smile from a stranger, fresh food in the fridge, warm clothes on your body, a comfy bed, your good health—become things to treasure. Your existence is a constant prayer of gratitude to the universe and to yourself for having the courage to move beyond hard times and choose life when you could have chosen a number of other options just to make the pain go away. The gems mined in your darkest moments are what give you depth, courage, wisdom, and richness that can't be learned elsewhere. Your ability to fly is in direct proportion to your willingness and courage to face your version of rock bottom. If you've ever been there and bounced back to tell the story, you know exactly what I'm talking about.
If you're currently sitting on rock bottom and still chafing your behind, you're probably cursing this post. But as someone who's been there, done that, and got the T-shirt, I can tell you that in years to come, you'll appreciate the experience (and the chafing) as the best thing that ever happened to you.
Only once you are willing to explore your darkest depths can you truly be of service in the world. Only when the old foundations crumble can you begin to build again on new and solid ground.
This is the gift of rock bottom: aim for it.

Persistence; failure is nothing more than feedback, and it's one of the biggest drivers of success. The sooner you can fail at something, the sooner you will succeed. The longer you work at something, the better you become, and the better your chances of succeeding are.
Often, it's not the failure itself that's the problem, it's the story we tell ourselves about what the failure will mean. Stop focusing on winning or succeeding and instead immerse yourself in the work; fall in love with the process. No one wins or succeeds at every attempt, and you are no exception. The sooner you start, the sooner you will fail and, with persistence, the closer you will be to success.


Marguerite is oblivious as she folds Arthmael's body into beautiful silhouettes. Following the familiar choreography, she dances relentlessly.

When the music reaches the outro in a full stop, Marguerite falls gracefully on the floor in a pose. She stays there and waits for the king to tell her she can leave.

She stays on the ground for a long time but hears nothing from him. Wondering if she did anything wrong, she wants to lift her head to look at the king's face, but quickly remembers the warning he gave her. If she disrespects him any further, who knows what he might do to her.

She suddenly feels her chin being lifted, her eyes meet the hazels of Demian. She forgets to breathe and falls from her pose onto the floor. She doesn't have time to regain her senses before two strong arms lift her off the floor.

She is about to question him on his weird behaviour when her mouth is suddenly covered by his in a kiss.

"A thousand year ago, the Goddess Skonhet created humans. She took her time and molded her creation in her image. Even though it only took her minutes in the deity realm, it was actually a hundred years in human time. The other Gods tried to oppose Skonhet, but she was the strongest out of all of them. They had no choice but to yield to her." Thyra tells the Easterners, getting all of their attention.
"The Goddess watched over us for years. She watched from her realm as the population slowly rose and we formed the first tribes. The Ten Tribes."
"Ten?" Hulda asks.
"Yes, there were ten tribes in the beginning." The duchess answers. "Skonhet saw that humans were developing fast. She noticed that new feelings and emotions were becoming apparent in her creation, even though she never gave them to humans to begin with. The emotions were mostly positive, but some were dark and dangerous. Greed, hatred, jealousy, only to name a few. She watched as the first murder took place, then the first war. She was saddened and shocked by the deterioration of humanity, however small the population was."
"Did she do anything about it?" The petite chief interrupts again.
"Why can't you just listen until the end, Hulda?" Frode says, annoyed.
"I must say, I am surprised you have never heard of the story." Thyra smiles at the young chief. "I was shocked when you did not even believe in magic."
"The chief hasn't had any elders for guidance." Njord jumps in. "All she has learned, she has done on her own."
"That is very impressive, Chief Hulda. My heart rejoices every time I meet a strong young person." Hulda blushes and does not know what to say.
"Please, Your Grace, continue."
"Of course." Thyra squeezes her cane. "The Goddess decided to take hands into her hands. She descended to our realm in hopes of fixing things. But she had no idea what went wrong. In her quest to finding the truth, she met a young warrior, who was trying to bring the war to an end himself. They shared the road and spent months together traveling and fighting side by side. The inevitable happened, Skonhet and Kriga fell in love. She never revealed her true self to him, but after spending so much time among humans, she came to the conclusion that we need a leader. That we need to work together instead of fighting against each other. The Goddess decided to give each of the tribes a different magical power so that they can all coexist together. She also made Kriga king."
"Of course she did." Hulda mocks.
"Hulda." Snori warns, but she just rolls her eyes at him.
"Her choice was not based on her feelings for the man, child. Kriga was the most just and honorable king our land has ever known. He was also the first king of Pyama." Thyra pauses, expecting a comment from the chiefs, but none of them comments. "Pyama became the first tribe to change into a country, and the first leading nation in our land."
"Isn't that a bit too convenient, Your Grace?" Hulda comments sarcastically. 
"Pyama led the tribes but it was very different from how things are today. Kriga had a counsel made of every tribe chief, and every time there was a decision to make, they made it together." Hulda stares at her for a moment.
"What happened to the Goddess?"
"Kirga asked her to be his queen." The duchess answers. "She loved him too much to refuse, they lived happily together for years and had two children, a son and a daughter. But when Kriga started to notice that she was not aging, that she never got hurt or ill for all the years they have spent together, he became suspicious."
"What did she do?" Hulda's eyes look like a child listening to a bedtime story, curious, worried, and hooked.
"She had to leave our realm." Thyra utters. "But before she did, she left us with magic and the Blue Fire. She also made it a rule that every queen after her would be brought from a different realm. She believed that a stranger foreign to our land���s greed and bloody history would do better guiding and ruling alongside the king." Thyra is silent for a moment. "The queen would also have a fragment of every magical power given to each of the ten tribes."
"Are you saying that Queen Ylva has that power?" Frode asks.
"No, she does not. She is not the destined queen." The comments earn her a few frowns. "She killed the rightful queen and took her place." Thyra looks down. "Don't misunderstand, though. She is extremely powerful."
"Why can't we use magic anymore, though." Sven asks. "Did the Goddess take it away?"
"Yes, and why don't we know about all of this?" Njord adds.
"I reckon Ylva did something to wipe magic knowledge from our lives. She has also been draining the Blue Fire for reasons that I have not discovered yet. That is actually the reason why the Eastern Lands are barren. They used to be lush and fertile, but unfortunately, Pyama has been sucking every drop of energy." Hulda slams her fist on her chair arm. 
"How are we supposed to fight them when they have all this power?" She utters through gritted teeth.
"Well, the first thing you need to do is bring magic back to all tribes."
"How can we do that, Your Grace?" Hulda's tone is different. For the first time since she met the duchess, she is genuinely asking for help, and Thyra feels it.
"With the help of a very special person. She is the destined queen of Pyama, brought from a different realm, carrying royal blood, and the most courageous girl I have met in a very long time."
"Please, tell us who she is and where we can find her, Your Grace."
"She is on a journey for the moment, but she will join us." Thyra smiles proudly. "Her name is Siv Holmen, my granddaughter and The Chosen One."
