Walking in the door after work, one question persists in my mind. Searching for Damon I'm surprised it is so hard to find someone in such a small place. They have a two-bedroom apartment, why can I not find him? Calling out his name, a faint "here" comes from behind the bathroom door. I should have known he was in there, after all, where else would he be if he is not in the living room or his bedroom? 

Taking a seat on the couch, my leg bounces up and down as I wait for him to leave the bathroom. What is taking him so long? I lean back on the armrest and fall on my back so I am staring at the ceiling. I take the time to think back to the therapy session that I had during lunch today. We finally made it to the point where I was ready to talk about the last year and how it impacted me. I can remember the range of emotions on her face as I went into detail about what happened. She looked shocked, scared, possibly proud. It is crazy to think about how someone's perception of you changes when they hear about some things that you have dealt with in your life. I don't think she really understood why I was going to her in the beginning, I mean, after all, all I had was neglectful parents who died and left me alone. Yes, that is a reason to see someone, but I think she could always tell there was something more. 

She asked me whether there was something that could help me get my memories back, such as a journal or diary. It is important that I remember the past because that could be one of the main causes I am having these nightmares and thoughts: I have nothing else to think about aside from that because I don't have my memories. 

Thinking about it, she may be right. I have my memories of Brandon, but even those are not very clear because there are still missing pieces about Damon, Carol, Dave, and Amelia. 

Hearing the click of the bathroom lock, I pull my body back into a sitting up position and wait as Damon finally leaves the bathroom. It's another two minutes before Damon emerges from the bathroom, a cloud of steam trailing out behind him. I thought men took quick showers, he was in there for over twenty minutes… 

"Hey, Rose. What's up? How was work?" 

"Hey. Work was good. I actually have a question to ask you that is kinda important. Do you know if I kept a diary or journal that could help me get my memories back? It can literally be anything."

"You didn't have a diary, but you were writing a novel for your writing course. You were always working on it. I'm not sure what it is about, but maybe it will spark something."

Feeling hope rise within me, I ask further. "Do you know where the draft is now?" 

"Your professor has it, I believe. You always carried it around and then one day you didn't have it anymore. I would try him first."

With newfound determination, I thank Damon and rush out the door. If I hurry, my professor may be there. Even without my newer memories, I know there is only one professor who assigns students a novel draft as their final project. I have had him for years now and it is very easy to navigate to his office. It has looked the same for all of my years here and it brings a sense of nostalgia. This is the office where I decided to become a writer, not just an editor, but a writer whose words could be heard and read around the world. 

Knocking on the door, my professor opens it, a look of surprise on his face.

"Rose, how are you? What brings you here?" 

Do people not know about what happened to me? On one hand that makes me relieved, I don't want anyone to really know, but on the other hand, it upsets me. Is everyone from my academic career just a small minor character in my life? Will I forget them in the future, the same way they will forget me? For some, I want them to travel throughout all the chapters in my life.

"Hi. I am good. How are you? I was hoping you had the draft of my novel we had to write for class. I can't find it in my apartment and I want to review it." 

He's looking at me funny. Why is he looking at me like that? 

"Uh, Rose? I suppose life has been crazy since you graduated and all. Uh… I don't have your manuscript. Remember we talked about getting it published? We sent it over to an editor that works in your building to see where we can take it when you finish it."

My mind draws a big blank. How could I forget that my work was in the process of getting published? I should have been working on it this whole time. I have so much to write about, I think. 

"Of course! I remember that. Thank you again for all of your help with getting that done. I am really excited about getting published." 

He still has this funny, confused look on his face. I don't think he buys what I am saying. I just can't believe that my work is going to get published when I finish it. I need to finish it soon. My whole life could change after that. I know it will change after that. I mean, once I am published, my words will be printed forever. I will have left a small mark on the world. 

"Do- Do you need a copy of it, Rose? I can give you mine after I make a copy of it. I would love to use it as an example in my future classes. This is still okay with you, correct?" 

"I'm sorry, but do you mind making a copy? I can do that if you want, I don't want to inconvenience you. And yes, I would love for you to use it as an example. It would be an honor." 

"It is no problem at all, Rose. I would be happy to print you a copy. I can head upstairs now and do it if you need it." 

"Yes, please. I misplaced my copy and want to pick up where I left off in the book. With work and everything I have not had much of a chance to write, but I don't want to lose my flow." 

My flow is definitely gone especially since I cannot remember what the book is about, but he doesn't need to know that. 

We stand at the printer for the next 30 minutes, scanning each page and making conversation about how my job is now. I tell him about how I am now meeting with some authors and we are taking the next steps to get him published. The rest of the time he talks about his new students and then asks me if I want to mentor a student of his who doesn't know what he wants to do but is a brilliant writer. I'm not sure what to say about his offer. I mean, my life is a mess right now, but maybe helping someone will then help me. 

Of course, I say yes. This man has helped me with my future more times than I can count. This is my way of giving back for all of his generosity. 

Grabbing the final stack of papers out of the printer, we head back up to his office where we decide to meet later this week to decide on a day where I can meet this student and get to know him better. I am nervous but so excited at the same time. Writing is my passion and even with everything going on, writing has always been my way to cope. 

Walking out of his office, I scan the pages to see what I have written so far. A few names catch my eyes and I wonder if I found my diary. It seems to be my diary. But now a new question persists, why would I make my diary a novel? 

My eyes continue to glance at the manuscript the whole way home and the minute I walk into the apartment, I sit in Damon's room and get to reading. A couple of chapters in and my head starts to pound as it did when I was with Brandon and my memories came back. I feel like I am learning everything about my friends again. I continue to read but have to stop shortly later when the pounding in my head doubles and I can no longer keep my eyes open. With a whimper of pain, darkness clouds my vision, a door bangs open and someone calls my name in a panic before I am pulled under.

Ethan Shawn's POV
"Have you published the next part of your story yet?"
I was picking up my bag which was on the floor when Claire asked me about my story. School was over for the day and I was just getting ready to go home when my friend Claire came over and asked me if I published my story yet.
"Oh, Claire, I didn't notice you. Yes, I just published it last week." I smiled at her as I picked up the small pieces of paper which fell from my bag. I throw pieces of paper at the top of my bag when I'm bored, what else am I supposed to do to pass the time? I can't talk to Claire because she's in a different section than me.
"How many reads did it get?" Claire said as she sat on one of the tables and started chewing a gum. Are you even a girl? I mean the way you sit is not lady like, I get that you are one of the tough girls at school but be a bit lady like. Know what? I'm not going to focus on the way she acts, I'm just going to let her be. That's her life anyway, I won't ruin her fun.
"It got to about 5 reads." I replied as I picked up the last piece of paper.
"Only 5?"
"Yeah. By the way, how was it?"
"How was what?"
"My story, how was the new update? Did I do good?"
"Oh, I didn't know that you already updated it."
I was about to put on my bag but I stopped and I looked at Claire. "You didn't know?"
"Well how was I supposed to know if you don't inform your readers that you have already published the next part of your story? Why don't you announce your story anyway?"
"What do you mean?" I asked as I began walking outside the door and Claire followed me. Me and Claire walk home together, even though she is part of a group in school, she still likes walking home with me, she says that the atmosphere with me hits different than that of the atmosphere with her group.
"I mean what I mean dummy. Your stories are great, but they don't have any audience so really they're just going to waste."
"Your point is?"
"What I mean is, you should tell people about your story, you should endorse it. Your story needs to have great audiences."
"I don't think endorse is the right word you are looking for."
"Whatever word it is that I am looking for, I'm pretty sure that it's endorse, so shut up and endorse your stories." Claire said as she spit out the gum she was chewing and started chewing another one. How is her jaw still working?
"Well, that's the thing, I want people to see and read my stories its just, I don't know how."
"Are you even listening to me? I just literally said what you need to do, you need to endorse them!"
"Again, endorse is not the correct term!"
"Endorse them!" Claire kept on forcing that the term endorse is the term she is looking for, it's not! And if you ask me what is the correct term, I don't know it.
"I can't, okay? I'm shy."
"What?" Claire looked at me with this expression, the most annoyed expression in the world is plastered on Claire's face right now.
"I'm shy, I feel like I'm bothering someone whenever I'm promoting my stories. I feel like I'm disturbing people whenever I ask them to read and support my stories. I'm scared." It's true, I don't have the courage to tell people to support and read my story because I'm scared, when I'm about to send a link to my story to someone, I can't seem to send it. Thoughts of me annoying people and asking too much attention comes to my mind, stopping me from sending the link to my stories.
"You're scared?" Claire asked as she kept looking at me.
"Yeah, I'm scared that people will think of me like an attention seeker, I'm scared that people will say that I lack attention that I need to force people to read my stories."
"Well how will your stories be known if you don't even tell them to people?"
"I don't know. I'll just sit around and do nothing, I guess? Hoping that someone famous will read it and give my story a shoutout or something."
Claire just looked at me, again, with the most annoyed look on her face. I can tell that one more word which she doesn't like comes out from my mouth, she'll kill me.
"You do know that there is no way that that will happen to someone, right? And if it will and/or does happen, there's just a small chance that your story is the one story that that famous person is reading. Little to no chance that that will happen." Listening to what Claire said made my heart get broke. I know that that won't happen, but still, I hoped for it to happen one day.
"Well, a guy can dream right?"
"You're right, but if it happens, chances are you are already done with writing."
"Done with writing?"
"Yeah, like when you get old and you have a job. Chances are you already stopped writing and already started working."
I took a moment and gave a thought to what Claire said. Why am I writing again? What's the purpose of writing my stories if no one ever reads them?
I stopped and looked at Claire.
"What's wrong?" Claire asked as she looked back at me.
"What do I need to do to get more readers?"
Claire smiled as she gave me a pat on the back. "That's the spirit! Now, what you need to do is go to every social media platform you know, and start sharing and posting your stories! Readers will come in overnight!"
I took Claire's advice and did what she did. I was hesitant at first, I was scared that people will see me as an attention seeker. It took me 15 minutes to get the courage, but when I got the courage, I posted on every social media I know of.
A few days passed and I checked how many readers I got. I felt my heart being shattered at the sight. The number of my readers stayed the same, well, not the same, I mean I received a few more reads, from 5 reads it went to 9 reads. I'm happy that new people read my story, and I'm thankful for that, but there's something in my heart, like I expected for big numbers, but I didn't get what I expected.
I took deep breathes while I lay down on my bed, thinking if I should keep writing or not. I mean, what's the point in making stories if no one even reads them?
I kept taking deep breathes, trying my best to look on the bright side.
"Why did I start writing? What was the reason why I started writing in the first place?" I asked myself as I stared at the ceiling of my room.
I closed my eyes trying to think why I wrote stories. Minutes passed by and I was still trying to remember the reason why I started writing, then it finally hit me.
I started writing not because I wanted to be famous, I wrote stories not because I wanted to have many readers or something. But I started writing so that I could share my feelings with other people, I started writing because it gave me joy, it made me happy whenever I write stories. I didn't write because I wanted to be famous, but I started writing because I wanted to be happy.
That was the reason why I started writing stories. I stood up from my bed and went toward my desk and started writing stories, not thinking about who will read it. I wrote stories not thinking if someone will see or read it, I didn't think about who or how many people will read my story, I just wrote my story knowing that I'm happy, with or without readers.

"Ms. Mendez are you ready for your interview?" Mr. Arnold asked.
I'm in a studio today for some interview of the most horrifying experience that I have a year ago.
A kind of experience that will haunt me and my friends forever.
"Yes Mr. Arnold," I answered.
I composed myself first before going out of the back stage as the host call my name.
As I got out, crowds cheered my name. Some of them waving books which I wrote. Then I saw my friends sitting front row they just nod their heads as a sign of their support.
"How is your day Ms. Aria Mendez?" The host asked me.
"Perfectly fine, I guess?" I jokingly said and nodded.
I turn my head at my friends, they give me a smile telling me not to feel nervous. They shared the same experience with me for the past year.
"Ms. Aria, I won't let this opportunity to pass anymore so I would get direct to the point," The host said and let out a sigh, "Everyone here in this room is very curious about the new book that you have published, " He paused," Is it true that the book contained the whole story of what happened to you and to your friends a year ago?"
I took a deep breath and rethink my answers, "Yes it is," I paused, "No one even the police, knows the whole story of what had happened that day. But now, me together with my friends decided to break the silenced even a year has passed."
"Ms. Aria, can you tell us exactly what do you feel about the release of this book of yours?" He asked again.
"To tell you honestly, I'm so terrified that I wrote everything down exactly what had just happened. I didn't even imagined that I'll made a book out of that? Me and my friends decided to keep it a secret but the more we hide it the more it haunts us. Regrets, sadness, everything that you would feel when you watch a horror movie! The only thing is we experience it. Its a real thing. A real deal." I said in one breath. Wow! I couldn't believe myself I'm saying this?
"So you mean everything that is written here is what really happened about a year ago? About that incident?"
"Yes." I answered.
"How about your friends family? Are they okay with this?"
"Yes, I asked their permission first before publishing it. They all agree on it."
"You do realize that, after publishing this you may become a target yourself? Even the other survivors and your family as well? Did you consult the police?"
"I do. 'We' do. I know that person is watching. I know that he is itching to get me, to get 'Us'. His puzzle wont be complete without the remaining survivors from that incident. Even if I didn't publish my book that person is still going to hunt us down. That is why I'm here, announcing that I wont give up until the day he is caught."
"Ooohhh! So you are declaring a war?"
"Do I? Maybe?" I laughed at the idea.
The interview lasted for about thirty minutes.
It's now or never. I already published and shared our story. And back at the interview, I can't help but to think about what happened a year ago.
How six of our friends died. Just because of that out of town trip. Just because I let myself be fooled by someone.
"Aria!"
"How are you feeling?" Leona asked.
"I'm fine, just a little dizzy. By the way, thanks for the support...and the help. The book wouldn't be published if it weren't for you guys." I answered.
"Nah! It's nothing, okay? Don't think about it! What we should think right now is moving on, leave those things on the past, stepping our foot forward and go to the nearest diner because I am already hungry! I didn't ate anything before coming here to support my friend!" Ryan said.
Moving on? Easy to say but so hard to do. But I guess its the best choice we have? Right now, the suspect is still out there, waiting. But still...we don't know what's waiting for us in the next days of our lives.
Even though a year had already passed the memories are still fresh in my mind. And I can't forget how we struggle for our dear life to get out from that town.

After listening to this wish, Kimura Kazuki did not say a word for a while. When he was on the way home, he already had a feeling that Yuriko Kawachi's obsessiveness would be related to her light novel. 
But… he never thought that it would be this difficult.
Exactly. To him, this was like hell. 
Publishing was not that hard, he could pay for that. For him, it was best if the obsessiveness could be achieved by money. He was not rich, but earning money was a lifetime job. Besides, money was earned to be spent, the spending would be worth it, as long as it was spent on the sword. 
But… turning it into manga and anime would be over-budgeting. Even selling himself would not get him that much money.
While publishing, turning it into manga and anime could be settled with money, getting acknowledged, and gaining popularity among the readers could not... The novel would only be acknowledged when the readers have the urge to continue to get updates and are desperate for more of the novel after reading it.
Based on being "acknowledged," obviously Yuriko Kawachi's obsessiveness was for her novel to become popular, then attract an animation company before turning it into manga and anime.
Her obsessiveness would not be achieved even after he paid to publish the novel and turn it into manga and anime unless it was being acknowledged by the readers. As for the acknowledgment from the readers, it was reflected in various aspects.
Kimura Kazuki rubbed his temple and looked toward Yuriko Kawachi. She was looking back at him nervously, he was stunned. He suddenly thought of her asking whether she could change her wish just now… He frowned, "Miss Kawachi, are you sure this is your obsessiveness? Are there no other wishes?"
He would not know if Yuriko Kawachi was lying. If he only achieved a fake obsessiveness in the end and her consciousness still exists, it would make a joke out of him. Having thought about this, he became stern. Since he was still inexperienced in this, he should be more careful and prevent this in the future.
"I'm sure about this…" Yuriko Kawachi was stunned. She looked at Kimura Kazuki and suddenly realized, "Don't you believe me?"
Kimura Kazuki nodded, "I'm sorry, we're still strangers. As an Onmyoji, helping a specter to ascend is my responsibility and obligation. However, if you as a specter lied, by the time your obsessiveness is achieved but you still cannot ascend, something horrible may happen to you." He paused, "Like… your soul will be broken into pieces, or you might go to hell."
Hearing that, Yuriko Kawachi had a terrified expression, she said immediately, "My last wish is really as what I've said, I'm not lying. The reason why I said I wanted to change my last wish just now was because of my parents." While saying so, Yuriko Kawachi's eyes dimmed, "I was an only child, and my parents live in the village. So, I've always wished that my novel will become popular so I can earn enough money for them to enjoy their lives. However, my last wish after I died is hoping that my novel can be popular instead of wishing that my parents can live happily, I'm such a hypocrite."
Kimura Kazuki heaved a sigh of relief when he heard this. Luckily, it wasn't that kind of obsessiveness. If it was, then I'd have to kill you. Having the thought, he smiled slightly, "I see, but you don't have to blame yourself. The formation of obsessiveness is related to your thoughts before you die. You died while you were writing your novel, and you were so focused on your novel back then, that's why you have this obsessiveness right now, this is normal."
Yuriko Kawachi nodded slightly but showed no sign of happiness. Even if her novel became popular, she was already dead. Her parents could only live in destitute and suffer for the rest of their lives.
However, Yuriko Kawachi was quite an optimistic person, she knew that there was no use crying over spilled milk. She could only accept the fact that she had become a specter. Luckily, Kimura Kazuki was there, without him, she would have gone insane.
"Regarding your obsessiveness, I have a few questions." Kimura Kazuki held a note and a pen, it was clear that he had some questions. Although Yuriko Kawachi's obsessiveness was clearly stated, there were still some details that needed to be clarified.
"Alright." Yuriko Kawachi was going to find a place to sit, but when she looked around, there was not even a chair… She was surprised, she did not know that Onmyojis nowadays were so poor.
"How was your novel's standard while you were still alive?"
"Uhm… it has to be published eventually. But my drafts were always sent back for amendments." Yuriko Kawachi scratched her head. She was the boss in the group only because she had been in the group for long. In the world of light novels, she was still a newbie.
Kimura Kazuki sighed softly. It seemed like his idea of asking Yuriko Kawachi to read aloud, and him writing it out could be excluded already. With her standard of only nearly being published, producing a popular novel would be very difficult.
Write it out by himself? Kimura Kazuki never even considered this. He seldom read novels before, and he had never written one. Yuriko Kawachi's standard would be so much better than his.
"As to what you've said just now… your obsessiveness is for your novel to become popular. Does 'your novel' mean publishing using your pseudonym?" Kimura Kazuki asked this question very seriously.
If the pseudonym of Yuriko Kawachi had to be used, he would rather kill himself. The uniqueness of the pseudonym "Chiyoko" had already been used to publish a light novel before this. That means that the pseudonym could not be used by others except Yuriko Kawachi.
But since she was already dead, it would be impossible for him to use this pseudonym.
"No need." Although Yuriko Kawachi shook her head, she was slightly embarrassed as well, "As long as my ideas are in the new novel, and it is published with my name, it's fine."

"I'm done asking." Kimura Kazuki closed his note. He already knew how to fulfill her wish. It was clear that he was stuck on the first step.
It was difficult for a novel to get published, acknowledged by the readers, and have it turned into manga and anime. Yuriko Kawachi still had another request to clarify to the readers that the light novel was published, with her involvement in the discussion of the novel.
This would be more than just difficult.
Kimura Kazuki took a deep breath. For a moment, he thought of giving up on achieving the obsessiveness.
However, when he thought of Akie Hanzawa's red reiki, he hesitated. He then grabbed his cellphone reluctantly and dialed a number.

On Wednesday morning, Jiang Xingyu went to pick her up along with Madam Jiang and Li Yuming. Meanwhile, Lanni stayed with Lin Jian and Xiehan, plotting the next step so they would strike at the best timing. 
Lanni glanced at the news article that had been published right after Luna was proven innocent. 
"Tsk, such insanity." Lanni shoved the newspaper at Lin Jian who was playing with his phone. "Oracle Daily, a magazine under Lin Media Group, published such a piece of news and you didn't know it beforehand? What kind of CEO are you, does Lin Media Group even need you?" 
Lin Jian managed to catch the newspaper before it fell over the table and put his phone aside to respond to the uncalled for scolding. "I'm the most competent CEO, okay? The most talented CEO that Lin Media Group has ever had—and of course, my gossipy nature comes in handy." 
Lanni rolled her eyes at him. 
"I knew this piece of news was going to be published. It was submitted by one of the best reporters of Oracle Daily so how would I not know?" 
Lanni raised an eyebrow. "And you didn't stop it or at least tell us about it?" 
"No one asked me. Naturally, I couldn't just start blabbering on my own, right?" Lin Jian ran a hand through his hair. 
Lanni took in a deep breath to supress her anger. She turned to Xiehan who was typing on his laptop. "Can I beat him up?" 
Xiehan didn't look up from his laptop as he responded, "Don't waste your energy on such a person. I'll get the bodyguards to beat him up for you." 
"Hey! Are you really my friend?" Lin Jian complained. What kind of friend offered to have him beaten up instead of helping him out?
Lanni huffed and sat back down. The news was nothing. It must have been meant to inform her anyway. Xiyan was a harder task. Because this was such a serious matter, the court did not give them many details and they only knew what had happened exactly when the news was published. She grabbed back the newspaper and looked through the article once again, reading every single word of it. 
It turned out that the man who turned himself in was the same one who had been hired by Li Xiyan to murder the detective. His name had not been published and his face had been pixelated but from his frame, Lanni could recognise him. 
The reason he had provided was that the detective had found dirt on him so he got rid of him. He never once mentioned Li Xiyan, taking all the blame instead. 
"How sly." Lanni let out another scoff. This must be Li Xiyan's doing. She did prove Luna innocent, but she did not turn herself in. Of course, Lanni had not expected her to turn herself in. But one matter still bothered her. Luna had been exposed publicly and ridiculed by the whole nation for a crime she had not committed, yet the real culprit was being protected and reported anonymously. Just how unfair could society get? Wait, that wasn't right. It was because both pieces of news were reported with Li Xiyan's instructions. 
"I will make her pay tenfold." 
Lanni's phone rang. She picked it emotionlessly. 
"You have read the news, haven't you? I have done my part, now it's time for you to do yours." Li Xiyan did not waste a single word.
"Yeah, I've read the news just now." 
"Who is bringing back the items?" Li Xiyan was impatient. 
"Someone will, as soon as I see my sister with my own eyes and verify that she has not suffered any form of abuse. If she is missing even a single strand of hair on her head, you can forget about your items." 
"Li Lanni! Don't get ahead of yourself!" Li Xiyan threatened, and Lanni hung up with a smug expression. 
"If Luna is alright, will you really give her back those items?" Lin Jian asked curiously. 
"What do you think?" Lanni grinned evilly. 
"You wouldn't be that kind, right?" Lin Jian was uncertain. 
Lanni relaxed back in the chair. "If I was going to be that kind, I wouldn't need you here." 
Lin Jian finally understood. "You are going to go against your agreement!" 
"People like her don't play by the rules, so neither will I." Lanni said solemnly. If she was going to go easy on Li Xiyan, that woman would continue to cause trouble. The best method was to end her once and for all. 
"I'm done." Xiehan finally looked up from his laptop. 
When he showed Lanni what he had been doing, she smiled and hugged him. "Honey, I love you!" 
Lin Jian couldn't help peeking over and was astonished too. "I thought you were doing your work. You're so reliable! No wonder you managed to get such a beauty as your girlfriend." 
While Lin Jian was endlessly fawning over Xiehan, the doorbell rang. 
Lanni excitedly went to answer and as expected, it was Jiang Xingyu and Li Yuming, and in their company was Luna. 
"Luna!" Lanni threw her arms around her sister. 
"Lanni." Luna returned the hug warmly, all four of their eyes tearing up. 
Lanni broke the hug anxiously and checked Luna all over. "Are you alright? Were you bullied? You lost weight!" 
"Lanni, I'm fine now." Luna hugged her sister once more. 
"While the sisters cry in each other's arms, why don't you tell us what's the progress of things? Has the case been permanently closed now?" Lin Jian inched closer to Jiang Xingyu to ask. 
"Luna will not be bothered anymore." Jiang Xingyu was relieved as well. If he had not hugged Luna and felt her warm body against his earlier, he would have thought that it was a dream. 
"We should go home now. Luna needs to have a nice meal and rest." Said Li Yuming who had been silent the entire time. 
"Sure. I'll grab my laptop." Lanni rushed to grab her laptop and after promising to give Lin Jian and Xiehan a call, she joined her mother and sister. "Let's go." 
Seeing Jiang Xingyu's displeased look, Lin Jian couldn't help but tease him. "Are you jealous of your in-laws now? Relax, she is back now. You will be able to spend more time with her later." 
Jiang Xingyu scoffed in response. 
"Anyway, where is aunty? Didn't the three of you go together earlier?" 
"Something came up so she had to rush back."

As soon as Luna got back home with Lanni and Li Yuming, Li Yuming went to the kitchen to start preparing several dishes to celebrate her return. 
Meanwhile, Lanni accompanied Luna back to her room so she would take a bath and change her clothes. 
Luna left the bathroom in a few minutes and sat on the bed next to Lanni. 
"It must have been hard on you." Lanni checked her over again, afraid that she had missed something. 
"It wasn't hard." Luna smiled. 
"How come? That was a prison, not a vacation of sorts." She knew that Luna was trying not to make her worry. "You don't have to pretend to be alright to make me less worried." 
"It was alright, really. No one could bully me." Luna sounded serious about it. 
Lanni didn't know what to ask anymore. She didn't know whether to feel relieved that Luna was alright or worried that Luna might be hiding the actual situation from her.
"Li Xiyan didn't really care about me when I was convicted. She made a few attempts to get rid of me but when they failed, she stopped for some reason. But ever since that man turned himself in, one of the wardens tried to get rid of me several times." 
Lanni knew that it was obviously Li Xiyan's doing. She must have been scared that Luna's release would cause her trouble so she wanted to kill her. A glint flickered in her eyes. 
"Why did you plead guilty?" Lanni asked after a while. She had wanted to know this for ages. "What was she holding against you?" 
"Lanni, it doesn't matter anymore, right? I'm alright now after all." Luna wanted to forget about it.
"It matters, Luna. It still matters. I want to know just what she said to you that made you play her tune." 
Knowing that Lanni wouldn't let it go, Luna took in a deep breath and answered, "She poisoned our dad." 


"Little troubleshooter, we meet again. If you are still thinking of trying to get away, you better give up that silly idea." Ji Xiehan said, pinning her against the wall.

 Li Lanni pushed her fists against his chest. "Is this how you say ‘Hi’ to all your interviewers, Mr. Ji?" 

"There is no interviewer and certainly no interviewee." The man grinned devilishly. "There is only a husband and a wife. My darling, how are you going to compensate for all the emotional damage you caused me by slipping away?" 

"What?" Heavens... just what had she gotten herself into?

 Her life almost came to an end because of a tragic accident but instead, she lost her memory. Who would have thought that just when she was starting to get used to her new life, she would get trapped in a whirlwind engagement? 

Out of all kinds of injustice fate could do to her, why did her fiancé have to be that white-haired pervert?! 

"You better not fall in love with me!" she snarled at the man grinning before her. 

Ji Xiehan's smile deepened. "Are you... kidding me? Why would I fall in love with you?" 

Li Lanni: "You better mark your words." 

The man grinned and helplessly shook his head, how could he fall in love with the woman he was already in love with? Taking up the challenge to crawl into her heart, Ji Xiehan promised himself to always treat her well and love her.
