The main character is unquestionable the most overpowered character in fiction. I won't spoil the story, but here are a list of things you can expect:
1) Obviously, the MC is ridiculously overpowered, to the point where it's provable that no other fictional character could rival him.
2) Despite this satirical concept, there is an actually complex story being told. And no clichés, no predictability. The plot goes wherever it wants to go.
3) It's very analytical. Everything in the story is designed to make logical sense. Yes, that includes the MC's power.
4) The MC is not the good Samaritan type. He's the definition of an anti-hero.
5) Most of the fight scenes are brutal and gory. And detailed too. So, if you have a weak stomach, maybe prepare yourself.

Hey guys, you might have wondered why I haven't posted a chapter yesterday.

I wasn't slacking off. I was sitting with my hand above the keyboard for the majority of the day.
But my hand didn't move much.

This was not a phenomenon called a 'writer's block'.

It was more of a 'realization'. 

I fucked up. Plain and simple. In so many places that I can't even begin to think about how to fix this mess. 

Let's start with the basic thing. Protagonist. Or no. With an idea about the world. Konosuba is a comedic world with very little worldbuilding. I thought it would be awesome, even if I couldn't replicate such a wonderful comedy I could at least add more things that would make this world a little bit 'logical'. And what did I do in the first 500 words?  

I introduced a character with a trait that didn't make a goddamn sense. Kazuki's scars. I mean, it would be all fine and dandy if this was a comedic series. It was a character trait like Maika's (from BlendS anime) sadistic gaze that scared everyone even though she was a cute anime girl. But do you see the problem with that? Yeah, it contradicts my idea about a more 'logical' world. It simply didn't make sense but my brain desperately clung to the thought it was somewhat logical. 

Ok, let's leave those poor scars for a moment and talk about Motivation. It's something that defines the character. Since all of you are novel readers you don't need me explaining that motivation is pretty FUCKING important. Like Eren's desire to kill Titans or Luffy's dream to be Pirate King or Naruto's to be a Hokage. My character got none... and what irks me the most is the fact that I could've easily given him a good motivation. 

The Wish! You may not remember this thing, because it is mentioned only once in Konosuba novel and anime. One time in my fanfic as well. But it's pretty damn important. Or... it could be. For helping the world to get rid of Demon King you can get anything you want. ANYTHING. Erasing Kazuki's scars would probably be easier than ANYTHING, right? My dumbass brain never got that idea until just recently. That sounds like pretty good motivation. And after achieving the goal he could just find another one. 

But as of chapter 54, he's got 0 motivation. And it would be impossible for me to add that motivation in any way that wouldn't make me cringe as a reader. 

I won't start on how Kazuki doesn't have a defined character because there are too many situations that show this perfectly. He's like a walking contradiction at times. Sometimes calm, then rash. Sometimes calculating, then downright dumb. Sometimes confident, then nervous. Sometimes cunning, then dense. No one is perfect but Kazuki, after re-reading my novel from scratch, feels like a character that was written to suit the scene. And it should be a character that acts according to the scene. That is really important. 

It might seem weird coming from the author but even I didn't realize how much I've fucked up until I sat down and re-read it from scratch while trying to think logically. 

Ok... besides Kazuki being... a badly written character there's also Chris. I mean... Contrary to Kazuki I think she is portrayed somewhat well. At least I hope so. Besides one major problem. I can't... for the life of me ... understand why did I think that she would move in with Kazuki without batting an eye. I just can't fathom what was I thinking at that time. Since then I had lost the grasp on Chris's character. Because of the fact that they lived together, every time I was getting trying to write a scene with that house in the picture I had massive hold-backs. I didn't understand why writing about story in that place always gave me so many problems. It was because it didn't make ANY SENSE...

There's also [Imitate]. I still think it is an extremely interesting power. But it's not something I can possibly give justice to. I realized that somewhere around the 20th chapter. But I didn't want to be like my friend that constantly stops writing his novels at the drop of the hat. I thought that as my writing skills increase I will be able to pull it off. To this day I think it is too overwhelming power for me to write about.

I think I did well with Megumin, Aqua, and Wiz. Megumin being  #1 girl in the series in my opinion probably was easy to spot. 

Kazuma and Darkness on the other hand... I only realized how little I know of them when I started imagining their interactions with other people besides the original cast, with a different set of experiences. I don't understand them... and leaving them was impossible due to how I structured character interactions.

I just couldn't find a way to remove any of those problems at this point... and with them, it's simply impossible for me to continue.

Sorry guys that I've wasted your time but I hope that you had at least a semblance of fun until this point.

Not gonna lie having to write 2 chapters requires an amount of brain juice just to finish and meet the required word count. Not that I've been counting the words on each chapter.

Chapter 0.11 - A character's presence

How should one make a character more presentable? Talking about its existence to other creators is one way but how does one do it in a realm. Simply acting and interacting with the things the character sees or places the character is currently in. Letting the character interact with another character is one way to acknowledge both of their presence in a realm. There's also a way of introducing their presence. By the using a 3rd point of view, a perspective from another character's point of view (example: an audience) looking at the character and explaining its existence to the reader.

I want to get back to playing a game, the writing drive seems to be a mess and how should I continue writing when there's a bunch of characters to take note of. But still, the story must still continue. Waiting for it to be written by an invisible hand and thoughts is as scary as it sounds. Getting out of the festering procrastination swamp may seem difficult at first. But continuing to write word after word can relive the writing drive. Kind of like how an old airplane starts its engine, you have to spin the fan manually and it requires a powerful spin, strong enough to generate spinning inside the engine. An enough spinning force to kick start the engine to take off into the sky.

I can only gaze at the avian vehicle taking its flight. The breeze of the wind touched the wings and lifting it up to the sky where white aerial cottons drifted slowly in the sky. This seemingly strays from the subject matter of the chapter but this is only one of the ways to have the writing drive get back on its speed. By analyzing how an airplane takes flight makes one's expressions and descriptions come through the experience of the flight.

The length of time, years, weeks, days, hours, minutes and seconds passed by. The world continues its rotation. Each time on each country vastly differ from each other. The time difference on each makes one wonder if travelers are isekai'd people. Their place of origin is not of the same place in their destination. The individual with foreign origin (Luzo Llois) and her sister (Ceilin Llois), the horned demon character (Drean Verick) and it's chaser (Mijmz Preals) may feel different when they're in this realm. This is a foreign realm to them. They can leave this realm. But seeing their expressions as they enjoy being in this realm, they won't leave for a while. I wonder if they had unfinished business in the previous realm and escaped on this realm.

Talking about a character's basic biographic details, traits and personality and filling out the details of a character may seem difficult at first but once it's done, the exhaustion fades away like a wind breeze. Knowing that a character is formed from the thoughts of a creator it is realized by others when introducing it to other creators. Holding a conversation and introducing a character to a fellow creator can add up to the character's presence in other works, influenced by the character introduced.

Talking about the character could be seen as you interpreting yourself but it's not. It's a created identity influenced by media and influenced from real things. There's the use of a persona as a way to represent oneself, meet the artist meme format as they call it in the art realm. And character interactions can also add up to the story value of a character and potential connections to other characters, therefore making a relationship connection to other characters.

This is a webnovel im writing currently on facebook and now moving it on this platform. This webnovel is about the travel on various worlds explored by my ocs. There is always something unique to each chapters. And there's also recommendations on each footnote. Have fun reading.

This webnovel is a multiversed one. I had a trouble wit hthe genre picking and stuff. Lots of leads female, male I think mostly are male. By the way. I am the author that made Conceps comic in webtoon. Some of the concepts there may be applied here.

Now let's get the standard definition out of the way first: Wuxia (武俠 [ù. ɕjǎ]), which literally means "martial heroes", is a genre of Chinese fiction concerning the adventures of martial artists in ancient China. Where people are always fighting.

Now when I say 'always fighting', I mean they can't go one day without someone hurting the pride of another which then turns into a duel where one may die a bloody death just to defend 'honour'.

In my humble opinion, I've always understood yet couldn't agree with how 'honour' works in these stories just as in real life. The reason you see people doing stupid things for the sake on honour is because ancient times worked like this.

It was the same literally everywhere in the world and the whole reason most Xianxia usually start off in a Wuxia setting. Because the people of this world are naturally narrow-minded due to the belief system they are taught about what should be done for the sake of defending or preserving a family's honour. As they have much to learn, a Xianxia allows them to slowly grow through journeys.

However, a Xianxia is at the end more about magic and 'the Dao' than practical martial arts. Stories like Martial King's Retired Life and Legend of the Condor Heroes are more about fictional martial arts that have some level of believability to them.

They are a different beast from Xianxia which demand the characters to grow, as Wuxia stories pride themselves on flawed characters that may get some development but won't change the same way a celestial would on his path to godhood.

There's no 'Cultivators are sealing resources from each other which is why the world sucks' crap in these stories as Martial Heroes of these fiction are all inevitably visited by death. They don't seek immortality, so their reasons for fighting become much more personal and raw. From revenge on another to greed, anything is possible for them.

Those who train martial arts have to have a fiery will and no nonsense personality in this world if they don't want to be screwed over in pugilistic society of fighters. Though not really magic, some techniques might as well be magic with how they end up doing absurd things like smashing boulders with their fists and flying through the air.

Mangas like Peerless Dad do a good job in portraying the hardships and the kind of people that are formed through a mixture of experience from the technique they practice and view on life.

Some could end up seeing others are fires just waiting to be started if they get too obsessed on training their fire-related technique while others could become more pious and nurturing individuals from learning a healing technique to help others.

Though it isn't like a technique shapes the personality of characters as the main character of Peerless Dad would have become a masochist if that was the case. No technique is easy to train and one must always be affected by the hardships it took to train their technique, even the prodigy main characters. After all, who doesn't love the feeling of accomplishment from rewarded efforts?

There isn't really much a structure to writing these stories once you got your setting down and put forth rational struggles for the main character to overcome to reach his goals. Then you can even introduce the power dynamics of various factions.

No one is perfect, and you shouldn't hold back from showing flawed characters in this setting who have been personally moulded by their sucky environment, but that don't go too far, as making the world too crap to live in makes people sad.

Blood and gore in this setting are either exaggerated or skipped as not many stories want to focus on a brutal death unless the character really deserved such an end (subjectively). It's to the point that some main characters of these stories become blood-obsessed-murder-hobos who end up killing all of those they love and hate.

When figuring out the end goal of your main character, make it pretty specific so they can reach it or pretty vague so they themselves don't know even at the end of the story if they've achieved it.

The 'Heroes' of these stories aren't supposed to be paragons of justice but those who are special due to either high talent or destiny. Think of classic Greek Mythology if you want good examples as Heracles was a total badass in his Twelve Labours.

The themes of these stories mostly pertain to overcoming stuff like social status and destiny or so on. As these worlds are normally unforgiving to those not wealthy just like how in medieval times nobility were sometimes assholes to commoners.

As governments can't control who in these worlds become 'talented' or what kind of absurd techniques can come into existence in these worlds. It is natural that there is always chaos and death in these pugilistic worlds, to the point you start to wonder how could civilisation survive with so many unjust massacres going around.

Most writers remedy this by making governing forces at least give some level of protection to its residents and makes it so the ones getting the power aren't all murder hobos like what realistically would happen. The story is how you make it.

There CAN be warm and lighthearted stories in ancient China but just remember that these stories are inevitably set in pasts where people didn't have modern social values. A member of royalty hitting on you to the point of wanting 'ownership' of you while ignoring yours opinions could be considered a generic love story in such backward societies.

Getting someone's calculated murder investigated was pretty hard and there was so many loopholes back then that it's only natural that even the most amateur of authors can easily write these stories.

You don't need to learn ancient customs as things in the past were less about rules and more about honour or status. Those who know good are more than likely to get preyed upon in these societies.

However, my biggest gripe with some of these stories is that they sometimes make an avenger that realistically shouldn't be tricked into an all-knowing judge of character like in literally every revenge related story of this genre.

These Author's ignore any growth or degradation on the main character's part and instead focus on his 'cool' plus omniscient they are. Setting aside any character development in favour of basically praising how awesome this character was or is.

An example of what I mean is in 'The Evil Girl is The Emperor' where the main character gets betrayed by a loved one and instantly gets over the pain of his betrayal literally moments after finding it out.

It's almost like betrayal is a mere trope with no value other than being there rather than an important tool that can temper the main character's personality. The reasons for why they were betrayed may not be as simple as 'because they were so blind they could not recognise a jerk in their vicinity', but rather, more sincere reasons like the MC's negligence on a certain matter, or even history they didn't know about the betrayer.

Forming a bond of hatred is not always as simple as one person is bad and other is good. As this is supposed to a society with flawed people, it is alright to show that even the MC has his flaws that he must overcome. Even after his betrayal.

Anger as a motivation isn't bland, what makes people bored is when anger becomes the main character's only defining character trait. You must at least give them a life if you use this trope.

Lastly, make sure that you aren't throwing characters at the main character for the sake of adding action. A character that actively seeks conflicts is the antagonist, but it doesn't mean that all journeys with conflict can never be justified.

Don't just make it as simple as the main character fighting some bandits out of compassion for the locals, but more like him getting a taste of reality for being hot-headed when takes action.

The Revival Man Manhwa isn't a Wuxia, but it perfectly encapsulates a hot-headed main character getting screwed over by his greatest character strength, his hot-Hesse's drive, due to the realistic consequences of not planning ahead.

Just be sure to build a sense of community between characters and develop them properly.

This is a story I worked on ages ago that has been refined and edited by adding foreshadowing to events while also simplifying the power system better than before. This story can be considered a prequel to An Adventure Beyond Greatness as it takes place years prior to the events of that story.

Short Synopsis:
After retiring from the battlefield, my life became empty and lifeless. The regrets of my past haunt me in my sleep. Then a change occurred, a King from another world summoned me to fight for his kingdom, but I died even before I could give him my answer. Now, after a fake God allowed me to reincarnate (albeit imperfectly) with my memories intact, into a world filled with magic and swords.

Long Synopsis:
This is about a flawed protagonist who only knew to rely on others and not socialise who gets a second chance to change himself in order to live the life he aimed for in his past life. The narrator isn’t exactly trustworthy since it is purely in his bias perspective while other perspectives given by others fill in the blanks that he either leaves out or twists to suit the situation.

The story itself can be considered a parody of Isekai’s classic tropes which are given a sense of reality as time goes by. As there exists no ‘Demon Lord’, there is also no black and white, only characters opinions and counter-opinions throughout the story.
