It was night, and the stars were twinkled merrily in the sky. Some falling stars shone brightly as they traveled through the night canopy, however there stood one man in the dark, fully wrapped in a jet-black plate steel armor. The dark armor lifts his left arms to the angels as his left arms transform into a canon. The cannon shoots a black flame on the soldiers which they realize who the person was the dark knight. The black false hit group of soldiers and fire spread creating a dark area.  The sky creating a hole and look like falling stars headed straight toward the darkness as if sucked by it. Truthfully, those weren't falling stars but angels with divine armor. 
Angels were beings created by the Gods of Light. Their counterpart was the Dark Knight who served as the Demon King. Clad in their shining white armor, the angels raised their swords and challenged the Dark Knight. The sky bore witness to a battle between Light and Darkness.
「NO WAY! THERE'S BUT A SINGLE ENEMY AND YET, OUR ENTIRE HOLY KNIGHT CAN'T EVEN BRING HIM DOWN! 」
Some time had passed since the angels discovered the Dark Knight.  They heard the news of a Dark Knight desecrating a temple of the Goddess in the surface world, they rallied their forces as quickly as to stop the dark knight. However, they weren't fast enough. Once they arrived at the temple, they discovered the Dark Knight had slaughter a few battalions of soldiers that protect the temple. They gave chase and the situation eventually escalated into a fight. Truthfully, it would've been strange if things hadn't escalated. The captain soldier angel recalled how the angel battalion lost so many soldiers. As they attacked the angels fell, one after another, under the might of the Dark Knight. The way he attacked was as if he was merely killing some annoying pests. 
It couldn't even be called a fight. It was a slaughterhouse. No fighting spirit could be sensed from the Dark Knight. He probably didn't even regard the Holy Knights as enemies. The man in question shook his head at the angels, exasperated.
「Didn't I tell you before all these death can be avoided if you just listen to mine warning? 」
Dark knight's voice was so low that anyone would run away.
「IN YOUR DREAMS! AS IF WE CAN FORGIVE AN EVIL BEING LIKE YOU, BASTARD WHO RAIDED THE TEMPLE OF THE GODDESS! EVERYONE! KIIIIILL!」
The Dark knight committed the great sin of raiding the Temple of The Beautiful Goddess of Light, Arena. They had no intention to forgive the Dark Knight.

The dark knight says put away his demon sword and place his hand on a katana handle to unsheath. 
A curve blade shobu Ukri-style katana with a silver licak and silver color scheme. Beautiful red pattern lines to showcase on the blade razor-sharp on a black blade. What makes this katana so different from the goddess hero was that the blade was a double edge curve blade. This double edge-katana was giving off an ominous feeling of slaughter as the blade gives a killing aura. It took one swing of that fearsome black sword for the angles to be hit by an aura attack, rendering them be killed.

The angels fearing the dark knight and shock. 
Until a while ago, Dark knight was using a different sword but I guess that his real sword was that double edge katana, or either it was a powerful sword that surpasses his first sword. After witness the power of the dark knight and the difference in power was so great, the angel realized the dark knight had the power to kill a god. They couldn't hide their shock at that discovery.
 
 「DO NOT FALTER! EVERYONE, CHARGEEEEEEEEEEEEE! 」
 
With their courage boosted by that command, the angels spread their wings and resumed attacking the Dark Knight. Their wings shone brightly against the night sky, just like falling stars. Even more, powerful attacks aura slash mix with black flames gushed out on the double-edged katana, rushing to repel the angles. The black flame aura slash spread through the area, making it look like darkness was painting over a meteor shower. The angels approached the darkness and, as soon as they got close enough, the darkness swallowed them, shining wings, and all angels were burning and crying in pain. Every single one of the angels fell to the earth. Their glow created a trail in the sky, resembling a proper meteor shower. The last angel stared at the skies as he fell with his brethren burning of their flesh. 
「You… Monster…」
Hovering calmy under the night sky was the dark knight witness angel burning from the sky.

The story talks about a ronin knight who went in adventure tresturae in weird place adventure.

Although his attack did not cause much damage to his companion because only a bit of the sword blade was left, his actions shocked his companions.
"Deshir, are you crazy?!" the injured angel shouted at him while hurriedly backing away.
But after moving away, he saw that something was wrong with the angel named Deshir because his expression was extremely terrifying, as though he was enduring intense pain. He appeared to want to restrain himself but could not and had lost control of his facial expression…
"Don't… don't come over! Stay away from me!" Angel Deshir said with a trembling voice.
"Damn it! Demon, what did you do to him?!" The angels besieging Roy roared angrily while constantly swinging their swords at him.
"Won't you know if you try?" Roy grinned sinisterly. He suddenly disappeared and appeared behind an angel. Frostmourne swung and cut a large wound on his wings.
The angel screamed. Although he did not fall to the ground because of this, he immediately felt the sensations that Deshir had experienced, and countless strange illusions appeared in his mind.
"N-no! Don't get hurt by his sword!" This angel had high willpower, so he quickly reminded his other companions while he was still conscious, "I… I'm falling!"
Before he finished speaking, Deshir, the first angel that was injured, let out a hoarse roar and rushed at his nearby companions.
The wings behind Deshir were now a grayish color. The originally shiny white wings seemed to be coated with a layer of dim light, giving others the feeling that they were decaying. At the same time, his golden eyes had turned completely pale, just like the eyes of those ghouls that had been dead for many years.

The black lightning was powerful, and the dark power contained in it had a huge conflict with the holy light power in the four-winged angel's body. Although the four-winged angel mobilized a large amount of holy light power to offset the erosion of the dark power, he neglected the paralysis effect of the lightning, causing the four-winged angel's body to stiffen suddenly and unable to move for two seconds.
What consequences would two seconds of stiffness be in the battle? Needless to say, Roy's Frostmourne directly pierced into the four-winged angel's chest. His companions did not even have time to save him!

Third is that the restriction of the Angels being unable to have sexual relations and children have been lifted. Now two Angels or an Angel with a member of another race can marry and have children without the fear of falling from grace. But any sexual act outside of marriage or having feelings of lust towards someone aside from their spouses, will make them fall.

After explaining the three aforementioned rules to the gathering of Angels and Seraphs, Karna spoke "Now, I would like to inform you about another important matter. From now on, the Angel Faction will display no enmity or hostility towards any other race or Faction including the Fallen Angels."

"Instead the Angels will maintain friendly relations and alliances with the other Factions, while simultaneously working towards a better future. As such Heaven will join a Treaty known as The Solaris Treaty, that I, myself, have formed. The Fallen Angels, the Shinto and the Vampires are already a part of it and now including the Angels, it will have four members. Do you accept?"

"Yes! We accept!" The Angels said in unison. Karna nodded his head and said "Now, I must go. I have been here for a while now. I need to return to Earth."

At those words, the Angels showed expressions of sorrow and sadness. It wasn't unexpected. After all, the entire purpose of their existence was to serve God and after literally millennias, they finally get to have a Lord and even he is leaving them so soon. Even the Seraphs including Michael and Gabriel had sad expressions.

Seeing their reactions, Karna smiled and said "You don't need to make faces like that. I'm not going away forever, I will return to heaven a few times a month to check on things. You all are now my responsibility, I won't just abandon you."

The sorrowful atmosphere eased and the Angels were back to being cheerful, but it was evident that they didn't want Karna to leave even for a short while.

Being curious, Metatron asked "Dear Lord, if you don't mind me asking-de gozaru, why do you want to leave-de gozaru? You are the Lord of Heaven and it's Angels, all of us are yours-de gozaru. This is Heaven, the place of eternal bliss-de gozaru, a place where there's nothing but enjoyment-de gozaru. What can be so great and important-de gozaru, that you would leave Heaven without even hesitating?-de gozaru?"

"Because my heart lies there on Earth. True, in Heaven, there's only bliss. But I am a Heroic Spirit, and we don't desire bliss, we want fun battles and challenges to overcome. To go on various adventures. And there isn't anything like that in Heaven. I want peace because I don't want people to suffer. But I also want to live my life to the fullest, that's why I'm on a adventure of spreading peace. And after this, I will embark on another adventure. And after going on several journeys, I would finally settle down with my family and create a utopia where we can be happy together."

"Now that I have answered your question, time for me to leave. Wel will meet soon." Karna said.

"Also, I noticed some corruption in the Church. When I go to Earth, I will also fix the issue. Goodbye for now." 

After saying so, Karna's body disappeared into tiny motes of light. The Angels returned to what they were doing before and the Seraphs returned to their castles. 

In her castle, Gabriel laid down on a lavish king sized bed while looking up at the ceiling. Bringing her hand over her breasts, she spoke "What is this feeling in my chest? Ever since I met 'him' first and after all the things he did for the Angels, there has been this strange sensation in my heart. I don't why, but please, let me see you again soon. Karna..."

A seed had already sprouted in Gabriel's heart, one that would soon bloom into something far greater.

Even though Arjuna had several massive advantages against Karna, Karna was still far superior. It would be impossible for Arjuna to win against Karna even with his countless wepakns and boons.

But this time, Karna couldn't win, no matter what. As Karna's victory almost became certain, his charioteer betrayed him and his chariot's wheel got stuck in a large hole, due to Karna's curse. Karna tried to leifg the chariot's wheel from the holeUsing this opportunity, Arjuna drew the string of his bow to it's utmost limits and fired his final arrow at Karna. In that moment, Karna displayed a rare smile on his face that carried various emotions behind ir, but for the most part, he felt relief. Karna accepted his death with a smile on his face without any hatred as Arjuna's arrow pierced through his head, he had shot down the sun.

As Karna's soul drifted through the afterlife, his soul merged with his father, the Son God Surya. Karna was finally free from his painful destiny of continuous betrayal and misfortune. But there was one wish that remained in his heart, "If....I am to ever be given a second chance at life....maybe I could finally experience happiness...."

Suddenly an anomaly occured as a huge rift appeared in space-time that swallowed him up. Karna had disappeared from the world of Nasuverse as his wish to reincarnate was granted, but in another world....the world of Highschool DxD...

And maybe one day, he might return to this world, to settle his score with Arjuna and defeat him in a fair battle not between two archenemies, but a battle between two brothers and fated rivals.

This is DxD and Nasuverse crossover fanfic, where our protagonist, one of the strongest heroic spirits of all time, reincarnates in the world of DxD. This is my first time writing a story and English is not my first language, so please excuse any grammatical errors.

There were three angels coming down from the opened sky.There were trumpets lining up and then flew down..Zane was a descendant and is currently turning into his true form.

"ARGHHHHH!" (Zane)

Zane transformed and was yelling in pain.Then the tower of ash disappeared.Zane floated,there were six wings behind him.

Suddenly,Lace Keld was also given a trumpet.He's also one of the seven angels.He blew it and a tower of water towered around him just like Zane.

Now for the other angel.Charlotte released the angel he's been buffing and he flew up high.

The angels surrounded Diablo and started their attacks.

"[Sinful Delta]" (Diablo)

The delta hit the six angels but it's ineffective.They have two special ability called [Curse Invulnerability] and [Zyne Invulnerability],so any Curse or Zyne attacks won't affect the angels.

The angels remained silent while continuing their attacks.

"I see,so my Curses doesn't work on you angels huh?" (Diablo)

"Well then,brethrens,give me all your strength and power." (Diablo)

There was a dark red light emitting from Diablo.

"[Reality Warping]Dimensional Slash" (Seven Angels)

They launched seven dimensional slash and it reached Diablo.Diablo was hurt but he recovered instantly.

"Ha!This unbelievable power is now mine,what?Did you think I came here without a plan?" (Diablo)

"[Supreme Light Ray]" (Zane)

There was a massive ray of light shooting from Heavens,it reached Diablo.He was badly injured and he tried to recover again.But he couldn't recover as the light ray is completely made out of Holy Matter.
"Dang it,well here's my full power.[Dark Matter Hurricane]!" (Diablo)

"[Holy Shield]" (Zane)

Zane created a shield and blocked all the dark matter weapons falling down from the hurricane.However,some of the angels were damaged,somehow.

While the dark matter weapons are falling Diablo went and finished out three angels.They were redrawn back to Heaven for healing.

Now there's only four angels left.They were planning to create the seal to seal away Diablo but they need the seven angels to complete the seal or else it Diablo can just break out of it easily.

Suddenly,Lace Keld jumps behind Diablo and landed a hit on his head.

"You kidnapped my brother just for your own selfish reasons!" (Lace)

"Oh you're wrong,he's the one who wanted to resurrect me,how can I kidnap him when I was sealed away and was just released?" (Diablo)

"Brother…?" (Jigenso)

Jigenso spoke and he was healed by Lace.

"You were brainwashed right…?" (Lace)

"Save everyo…[Horns popping out of his head]Shut up idiot,your brother is done for." (Jigenso)

"I see,so your demon is possessing you." (Lace)

"In order for all living beings to be judged,everyone and everything shall die,including you,Diablo." (One of the angels)

"How very emotional,the brothers that just got reunited ." (Diablo)

"I shall purify the demon inside you then." (Lace)

"Ha!As if you ca-" (Possessed Jigenso)

"[Slash]There,welcome back,brother." (Lace)

The horns went away and Jigenso turned back and there was it.The last trumpet,Jigenso blown it and the angels can now form the barrier,after the other angels are healed up anyways.
There they come,the seven angels are now gathered.They surrounded Diablo.

"Ha...this doesn't look very good for me does it?" (Diablo)

"[God's Seal]!" (The Seven Angels)

There was a large palm coming out from the sky and Diablo was thrown back to Hell.

"Huh,wasn't he supposed to die?" (Zane)

"We still need someone to manage hell,so he will be sealed away in hell." (God)

God was speaking from Heaven to the angels.

"Now please kill those humans and we will begin our judgement." (God)

"I will,are you guys ready?" (Zane)

"Yes!" (Everyone left on Earth)

"[Zero Pain],[Supreme Light of Judgement]." (Zane)

Earth was then destroyed.Every humans died and God will begin judging them.

Everyone that were in the Demonic Faction were sent to hell for their heavy sins that can't be forgiven.

Jigenso Keld was forgiven because he also helped in sealing away Diablo.And for all his previous sins,he was forgiven for all of them because those things were did by a demon that were possessing him.

Charlotte,Gior,Xage and the six heroes were sent to Heaven.They became angels and are all now living peacefully on Heaven.

"Hey,buddies!" (Zane)

Zane teleported to them and told them he was allowed to live with them forever and have fun together.

"You did good,Zane." (Charlotte)

"Nah,I was just a side character of the entire catastrophe,haha." (Zane)

"No,you were helpful,without you,the world and Heaven would be in trouble,you were the one who retrieved the seals." (Uora)

"Oh haha,no problem![Salute pose]" (Zane)

"You know you should speak more formally now that you're an angel right?Actually nevermind you're better this way!" (Gior)

On the highest hill in the East Forest, the princess of the Avelot lands quietly on the roof of the castle, she yawns and stretches her golden wings and limbs as she comes to her brother's side.
"Brother." she greeted, "Did you have a good sleep?"
"Good morning, princess." with a smile, Trevor greeted back, "Look at the horizon, the day is breaking. How beautiful."
Circe puts up a warm smile as she looks to the rising first light, "Indeed, brother." she said.
There, as they close their eyes and feel the soothing breeze, their smiles suddenly fade. The air, it doesn't feel fresh, the wind doesn't feel breezing at all, instead, it feels quite different today. The wind was a lot warmer than it should be, furthermore, they smell something in the wind, while from that smell, they can tell something is burning.
Just as they open their eyes and look into the horizon again, an odd scene catches their eyes. Right in the morning light shining upon the line, a silhouette of a falling object is seen. As it falls, it burns in red flame, black smoke rises. Circe squints her eyes and looks into the light.
"What is that?" in a puzzled face, she asked, "Is that a meteor?"
There, as she asked, Trevor closes his eyes tight for a second, when he opens his eyes again, his iris turns from blue to orange. As light glows in his eyes, he looks at the falling object again. With his Hawk Vision, he is capable of seeing everything from a long distance.
While he takes a glance at it, he suddenly frowns, deeply.
"What is it, brother?" curiously, Circe asked, "What do you see?"
Switching his normal vision back with a blink, Trevor turns to Circe and says, "It's Gabriel..."
"Gabriel?" covering her mouth, Circe asked, "The highest rank archangel, Gabriel?"
Abruptly, Trevor spreads his wings and jumps into the air, "He's dying, Circe, go get the Healing Angel, Jervis Cavanaugh."
"Yes, my king." with a nod, Circe jumps into the air and heads to the house of the Cavanaugh siblings.

As the sky turns bright, morning light penetrates through the windows and showers on Micah's bed. Micah slowly opens his eyes. He sits up from the bed lazily and looks out of the window. That is when he sees Remington standing by the river all by himself.
With a pleased smile, Micah jumps out of his bed immediately, he leaves his room and comes to the prairie. When he comes close to the river, he gives Remington a huge warm hug from the back.
"Good morning, Rem." he greeted.
"Micah." with a soft smile, Remington grabs onto Micah's arms and asks, "Did you have a good sleep?"
Micah nods, "Yes, I dreamt of you."
"Me?"
"Mm-hm." Micah nods again, "It is in the winter. You were eating the Boxty I made, smiling at me in the light. How beautiful."
Smiling brightly, Remington turns to Micah, "I am craving for some Boxty right n-"
While before he could finish his words, his face turns surprised when he sees Micah.
"What?" with a small chuckle, Micah shrugs his shoulders, "Why are you looking at me like that? Does my face look like a Boxty?"
Remain in astonishment, Remington turns stammered. He looks at Micah in his face, he finds his hair grows longer, his hair twines around, the end of his hair hangs over his shoulders, it's just like Micah has gone through many days in his sleep.
Gently, Remington caress Micah's face and touches his soft hair, "Micah, your ha-"
While just as Remington is going to mention it, Micah suddenly raises his head and looks into the sky.
Pointing at the sky, Micah says, "Ah, it's King Trevor!"
Turning to his back, Remington looks up into the sky. Just then, a big hawk swifts over their heads and lands on the vast prairie.
"Rem!" as soon as he landed, Trevor comes to Remington and reports, "Something's wrong, you have to come with us."
"What happened?"
"Angels are falling." there, Trevor revealed, "We saw Gabriel fell from the sky, when we arrived at his place, we found a Strength Reaper over his body." he said, he then adds, "He isn't the only one, more of your kind are falling, all of their bodies are tied up with the Strength Reaper too."
Strength Reaper, the fine silver thread that reaps power off an individual. Remington recognizes the thread, it was used by the elves.
"Valdemar..." as Remington mentions, he steps backwards as he spreads his huge white wings, he says, "I'll go get Raphael and his army."
Raphael, the most powerful healing angel of the Cavanaugh. He must be able to heal Gabriel and the angels.
However, just by the moment Remington is going to leave, Trevor stops him.
"Raphael is dead." he edged in, "Gabriel said he was the first burnt to death."
"Burnt...?"
Trevor nods, he unveils, "The heaven is on fire."
Clenching his fists, Remington grits his teeth in wrath, "DRAXLER...!"
"Circe is on her way to your siblings for help." Trevor mentions, "Falcon is leading my warriors to heaven to aid the angels with the fire, Avis has led my people to the falling angels to help with their injuries..."
As Trevor said, an Avelot in sparrow wings lands behind them on the prairie.
"Galvin." coming to him, Trevor asks, "What is it?"
"King Trevor, King Remington." Galvin greeted, he then mentions, "The fire is too big, there is no way we could save it. The whole heaven is breaking down, everything is falling apart."
"This is bad." said Trevor, "The heaven is boundless, if the fire continues to spread, the debris will destroy the land and the ocean, lives are at stake."
Raising his head, Remington looks into the sky. Angels are falling, dazzling fire and thick smoke billows across the clear blue sky. Holding his indignant back, Remington's arms tremble as he tightly clenches his fists.
"It must be the Eastman..." in a cold voice, Remington states, "Nyle Eastman wanted my kind to fall, he wanted to perish Cavanaugh..." as he said, he leaps into the air, "He will not succeed. Heaven will be havocked before it falls."
"What are you going to do, Rem?" while before Remington could leave, Trevor asked, "Angels are forbidden to damage heaven."
There, Remington raises his hand, the frost suddenly falls, "My breeze from hell's river, I'll freeze the whole heaven with it."
"No." while suddenly, Elgar arrives beside them, he mentions, "If you freeze the heaven, the whole kingdom will fall, it costs larger damage to the lives on the land and the ocean."
Meredith and Kayden arrive too, Meredith proposes, "If you are going to perish the kingdom before it falls..." she turns to Micah and says, "Bring our king, he has the power of zeroization. You've seen it."
"Yes." there, Micah stands up too, he looks at the kings and queen with his bright eyes, "Although I'm still not sure how to use it, but I can help!" he said.
"No, Micah." however, Remington disagrees with his decision. He turns to Micah and says, "You are not going anywhere, you don't know what this power brings upon you, you can be hurt."
Whereas, Micah insists, "I've used it twice, I feel totally fine." he said, "So don't worry, I can do this. I don't mind if there's any-"
"But I mind." while before Micah could finish his words, Remington edged in. Staying in the air, Remington leans close to Micah, he caresses his face and looks into his eyes deeply, "I can't afford losing you, Micah."
Remington has seen it, Micah's hair has turned longer in just one night, Micah is growing older. The faunas in the woods he havocked yesterday, Micah has absorbed their remaining lives as his, he's time has been taken away by the lives he absorbed.
If Micah uses his power to perish the whole kingdom of heaven, how many lives will he be absorbing? How much time of his will be taken away?
"You won't lose anything." there, Micah gently caresses the back of Remington's hand, he looks back at Remington with a determined expression, "Bring me there, Rem." he said, "Or the whole kingdom of heaven is the one you are losing!"
Even though in Remington's heart, Micah is definitely way more important to him than the rest of the world, however, he hasn't forgotten that he is the king of the Cavanaugh. His kingdom is falling, his kind are dying, and he clearly knows he can't save everyone without the help of the power living inside of Micah.
Micah is all he owns to himself in his life, yet, the heaven and the angels are his responsibility, it is no time for him to be capricious. He, as the king of Cavanaugh, has to make a decision, he has to save the heaven, the land, the ocean, everyone... with the help of Micah.
"Rem, trust me. Trust us." holding to Remington's hand, Micah puts up a soft smile, he encourages, "We can do this, together."
Looking into Micah's eyes, Remington takes a deep breath. Then, he carries Micah in his strong arms, by the next moment, they leap into the air.
There, by the next moment, Sirius appears at the prairie with his siblings riding on the unicorns Loui summoned with her newly awakened ability. They swift across the air and head to heaven.

The Nil, the king of the mortals from the family of Eastman, has been leading all species for millennia since the ancient time.

Until the time being, some of the species had grown beyond, trying to throw over the throne of the Eastman.

Is this how dying feels like?
For a few seconds, I started getting flashbacks of my entire life. Most of them were the happy moments I treasured.
I can clearly see Celandine in front of me. The beauty of her emerald hair freely flowing. Her soft cherry lips smiling at me. I can hear her soothing voice calling out to me. Her arms were wide open -- trying to call me home.
Her eyes, her soft beautiful eyes are staring straight at me, but my God -- they were the most beautiful pair of eyes I have ever seen. I am probably getting delirious, that I am laughing at my hallucinations.
Celandine always had a pair of hazy blue eyes. She's blind, she can't be looking at me with those beautiful pair of eyes. But I have always imagined her to be prettier if those haze has not dimmed her eyesight.
I am indeed getting delirious, death will be here to claim me any time soon. I am happy that the sight of my beautiful wife will be the last thing that I will see -- even if it was all nothing but a product of my hallucinations.
I've been staring at her for God knows how long now, but it was funny that every second I fall, Celandine's image is becoming vivid. I feel like she is falling her way into me, reaching out to me -- as if she was trying to catch me.
What's funnier, is how she suddenly grew some wings. Now I am becoming unsure if the rash of air I am feeling through my battered body was due to the pull of gravity, or was it because of those gigantic pair of wings fluttering from each side.
I always see my wife as an angel -- but to see her become a literal angel in my sight at the last minutes of my life is utterly a divine comedy. My brain is probably entering into a dissociative state, trying to shield me from the tragic fact, that I will be dying very soon and my body will either crash or get squished to death.
I am losing the battle. In between all of it, I felt Celandine's hand as she caught me. Then I felt something soft, as my body crashed into hers. She held me tightly in her arms. Her wings enveloped both of us into safety -- keeping all those debris away from crashing into us.
"C-c-celandine, my wife," I mumbled in between my tears.
I could feel her warmth. Being in her arms made me feel comfortable and safe. My head is still trying to be logical -- as if it's trying to pull me away from going to a complete dissociation. 
My, I am too tired to figure anything out. I don't care if this is real or not anymore. I am just too tired, too tired. I am giving up.
Then I saw a blinding light...

"Estrelle! Stop this! You are breaking the covenant! It will not be worth it!"
I lift my head up and saw another celestial being appeared just a few meters above me. It was the archangel Lovelle. I just broke four covenants out of five. Every covenant that you break from the Angel's Covenant, comes with a Terrestrial Retribution -- at least for Angels like me who belong to the Terrestrial Triad.
"I'm sorry Lovelle! I am willing to pay penitence or whatever you see fit. I just can't watch him die like this. At least not now."
I look at the man cradled between my arms. I can hear his labored breathing, and his heartbeat is starting to get slower. He is losing his consciousness. It won't be long until I lose my privileges as an angel for breaking the covenant. I must do something now.
Just beneath us, I caught sight of the Archangel Azraelle. The sight of her only means one thing -- death.
I close my eyes and summoned all the energy that I have. Miracles are not so easy to perform. People often think that angels are equally created and could easily perform a miracle at will. The truth is -- it takes hundreds of years to learn the divine knowledge and acquire the power to bend the rules of the natural world at will.
Angels belonging to a higher triad, at least four choirs above me are the only ones that are able to bend the natural flow of the world's will. They are specifically the Angels of Virtues belonging to the Celestial Triad.

Even angels have to follow a hierarchy and work hard to ascend in each realm.
The highest-ranking triad in the Angel Hierarchy is the Divine Triad. Angels belonging in this realm are the closest to the Divine and given dominion over the Divine Realm. This triad has three levels of ascension which we call Choir.
Each Choir of Angels carry out a specific task for the Divine. The highest-ranking choir are the Seraphims, below it are the Cherubims, and the lowest, the Ophanims.
Below the Divine Triad, is the Celestial Triad. Angels belonging in this realm are given dominion over the Celestial Realm. Like the first one, it also has three levels of ascension. This triad of angels are the ones who put the universe and everything in it in constant motion.
The highest-ranking choir of angels in this triad are the Angels of Dominions, below it is the Angels of Virtues, and the lowest, the Angels of Powers.
The lowest rank in the Angel Hierarchy is the Terrestrial Triad. Angels belonging in this realm are given dominion over the Terrestrial Realm. Like the other two, it has three levels of ascension. This triad of angels are the ones who are closest to humans. 
We keep the world in balance and ensure that justice is being served -- fairly. The highest-ranking choir of angels in this triad are the Angels of Principalities, below it are the Archangels, and the lowest are the Angels -- which is me.
Just going over that thought made me lose faith in what I can do. I am obviously a neophyte trying to perform a miracle here. I've had my fair share of performing miracles too -- but just a few times. 
And those few times I performed them, they were all just made out of blind luck. Yes, even Angels could use some blind luck too. I just hope that I have one right now.
"Don't give up Phaedon. You will get through this. I will help you!"
I close my eyes and started chanting the Psalm of healing and deliverance.
"I pray to the most Divine. Have mercy I pray thee. Heal this inflicted being, free his soul from harm, deliver him from his death, so that justice may be served fairly."
A blinding light came enveloping the both of us. I close my eyes and felt a warmness surrounding us.
"Oh Divine, forgive me if I have transgressed against thee. But I pray that thou grant this man thy benevolence, and grace us your mercy."
After chanting, I felt that the warmth that was surrounding us was slowly fading. I opened my eyes and saw the limp body of Phaedon.
I failed. I failed. It didn't work.
Sadness came rushing through me. I feel a tightness in my chest, as I held him in my arms motionless. I buried my face between his neck and shoulder.
I started crying -- I always feel attached to the people I am watching over. But the death of him -- I cannot bear. The occurring scenes that lead to his death were unjust. He put up a good fight to stay alive, but the favors were not on his side.
As I was crying, I started to notice pink feathers slowly drifting away.
My wings! I am losing my wings!
One by one my feathers began to fall, every flap it made, the feathers came falling down like how the leaves would in autumn.
We are still a hundred feet above the ground, and below us are angry waves who are ready to devour us into its depths. I started losing control, in a matter of seconds, we are falling rapidly into the ocean. I held on to Phaedon's body tightly. 
Now that I have acquired the vulnerability of a human, after being subjected to the retribution for breaking the covenant -- I am a hundred percent sure, that I won't make it out alive. Only a miracle could save us now.
For the first time in a hundred years of my existence, I never feared death. I can never fear death, cause I have never confronted one before -- not until this very day.
Is this what dying feels like? Is this what Phaedon was feeling when he was poisoned, and cornered, and fell? I never felt so helpless.
To be a human is to be vulnerable.
I close my eyes, as I saw the scary waters dancing a few feet below us. The raging waves look so terrifying, it is like dancing the dance of death, preparing to claim our lives. Then I saw huge sharp rocks by the shoreline where the waves break.
If we fell into the water, and make it out alive, those waves and rocks are what will kill us. I held on to Phaedons body tighter than ever. I close my eyes and prepared myself for impending death.

After being adopted by a noble lady who runs a mafia, Phaedon's life had changed. From an orphan to a noble heir, with power, money, connections, and a beautiful wife -- Phaedon had it all.

The lord of the thirtieth-ranked Ancient Joy Heaven stood on a high mountain at the highest point of his immortal world. His name was Ancient Dirge, and he was a powerful old-timer, but he had not competed for a spot as one of the god-generals or dharmarajas. Mostly because he wasn't the type of person who liked following rules set by others.
Behind him were a host of experts who were all stronger than Chaos Gods.
One of them was a young woman. "Father," she said, "why aren't you doing anything? Look, there are so many other immortal worlds rising up in rebellion and trying to take the god items. Why not us? Are you really going to follow the orders of that supposed league-lord, Yang Qi? Hmph!  What's so special about him anyway? He's still wet behind the ears! Maybe he stumbled across some good fortune, but his cultivation base is still completely lacking. All of us here have stronger cultivation bases than him. And now god items are literally raining down out of the sky. This is the perfect chance for our Ancient Joy Heaven to wipe out our competition among the other immortal worlds!"
This young woman was Ancient Dirge's daughter, a princess of the Ancient Joy Heaven who was named Ancient Mercy. She also had a profound cultivation base, supposedly because of some good fortune she found out in primal-chaos. The look of disdain in her eyes when she mentioned Yang Qi's name made it clear that she was itching to rebel against him.
"Just be patient a bit longer," Ancient Dirge said, looking around at the chaos of the rebellion. Then he shook his head. "That Yang Qi might be young, but he's quite tyrannical. I don't want to have a child telling me what to do, which is why I didn't try to seize a spot as a dharmaraja or a god-general. In fact, I wasn't even interested in being one of the emissaries. In any case, this rain of god items indicates that something big is happening with the Ancient Road to the Gods. And that means we have a good opportunity on our hands. Let the rebels pave the way while we bide our time, getting stronger the entire time. Then, when both sides have been worn down a bit, we can make our move. Daughter, did you really think I was planning to just sit around and watch the show? Truth be told, I'll be able to absorb the chaotic energy released by the death of the rebels, which will only help me grow stronger."
A young man stepped forward. "Congratulations, father. You're finally going to finish cultivating the consummate technique of the Paramount God, the Lord of Chaos."
Chuckling coldly, Ancient Mercy said, "Let's see how this Yang Qi tries to quell the rebellion. The truth is that he's actually not very impressive at all. He relies on tricks using King Immortal-Slayer's legacy medallions and the Myriad Worlds Monarch Chart. Apparently, he doesn't know about the deadly side-effects of those medallions. Once they absorb enough destiny, King Immortal-Slayer himself will be resurrected. It's a classic case of the fox exploiting the tiger's might. He doesn't have what it actually takes to keep the Dao Defense League united."
"For all we know, his current actions might be the doing of King Immortal-Slayer," Ancient Dirge said. "In any case, it doesn't matter. There are a hundred trillion worlds in the Dao Defense League now, and with god items raining down, plenty of them are going to rebel. Even if Yang Qi manages to crush all the rebellions, it's going to weaken him overall. And that will be the perfect time for us to vie for supremacy!"
"But father," Ancient Mercy said anxiously, "if we don't take action now, it might be too late. Look at how many god items are falling down!"
BOOM!
Even as the words left her mouth, radiance and light exploded around them and a host of angels appeared.
"Our Lord resides among men, our Lord triumphs in every battle, our Lord's will and glory will shine throughout the universe…."
As they sang, the angels laid waste to the rebel immortal worlds in the area, reducing them to ashes.
"This is bad!" murmured Ancient Dirge, his face falling. "Where did these armies of angels come from? They're crushing the rebels! This brat Yang Qi is even stronger than I realized!"
"Oh my god!" Ancient Mercy shrieked. "Look, the army of angels just destroyed that entire immortal world! It's completely gone! The rebels are all dead!"
"Brutal. So brutal!" Ancient Dirge said. "Send down orders immediately. The Ancient Joy Heaven is going to follow the league-lord's orders!"
"Father, don't tell me that we're just going to forget about all our ambitions?!" Ancient Mercy said begrudgingly.
"We have no choice," Ancient Dirge said coolly. "I could never have guessed that this Yang Qi would be so strong! We're definitely not a match for him. Our only option now is to bide our time and see how things play out. Thankfully, we'd planned to wait a while before making our move, otherwise the consequences would have been unthinkable."
"Father, look," another of his daughters said. "The angels are heading in our direction!"
"I see. Everyone, prepare yourself to welcome the angels!" Ancient Dirge watched as the hosts of angels swarmed toward his immortal world.
"Oh exalted Angels, I am the lord of the Ancient Joy Heaven. I've received the orders from the league-lord and have refrained from rebelling by trying to seize the falling treasures."
"Indeed," one of the generals among the angels said. "You have not rebelled, and have not tried to seize the treasures. Because of that, you and your immortal world might have been spared. That said, we cannot tolerate the evil intentions you harbor in your heart. Did you really think that you could secretly plan to revolt and we wouldn't find out about it? Our Lord heard every word you said just now. After all, the Lord's Eye can see through anything and everything!"
All of a sudden an eye appeared in midair, right in front of Ancient Dirge, Ancient Mercy, and the others. There was no doubt that the words uttered by Ancient Mercy moments ago were extremely disrespectful and even downright sinful.
Ancient Dirge's face fell. Never in his wildest dreams would he have guessed that Yang Qi would be able to spy on his confidential conversations.
"This is a misunderstanding!" he said. "A big misunderstanding. I would never rebel against the league-lord!"
"The evidence is conclusive," the angel replied. "How can you deny it? You besmirched our Lord, which is the gravest crime imaginable. Arrest him!" Hosts of angels immediately fanned out and began sending sagefire out to destroy the immortal world.
'Time to go for broke!' Ancient Mercy thought. She suddenly flew up into the air, glowing rings that resembled saber light rising up around her. Shockingly, it was an attack that actually felled several of the angels!
"We've been found out. Let's get out of here!" Unexpectedly, she had a god item that made her roughly as strong as one of the dharmarajas.
"Kill our way out!" Ancient Dirge shouted. The mountain peak beneath his feet exploded, revealing a huge banner that was so powerful that its every sweep cut down any angels who got too close to him.
With that banner, he led the charge to freedom.
However, in that same moment…. 
RUMBLE!
Two Grand Emperors had appeared, namely Patriarch Annalist and the Emissary of Righteousness, Yang Righteousness, who was now even far more ferocious than he had been as Grand Emperor Ragefire Broilheaven. A chakram suddenly appeared in his hands, which he used to strike Ancient Mercy in the chest. Blood sprayed out of her mouth, and she began falling. However, before she could get too far, he grabbed her.
Meanwhile, Patriarch Annalist seized Ancient Dirge's banner and used it to beat him until he vomited blood.
In the following moments, the rest of the Ancient Clan were captured and sent to the Heaven-Dao Operation God-Temple.
There, Yang Qi sat on his throne, watching as the armies of angels quelled all the rebellions. Matters proceeded smoothly. Wherever issues cropped up, Grand Emperors would be sent to take care of things.
"League-Lord," Patriarch Annalist said, "a total of thirty-nine billion revolts occurred. It took roughly six hours to put them all down. We arrested quite a few spies who were found to be instigating the uprisings. All of them have been gathered in the Heaven-Dao Operation God-Temple to await sentencing by you."
There were quite a few old-timers who had been captured, and virtually all of them were trying to look as regretful as possible and not the least bit ambitious. Among the last to be brought in were Ancient Dirge and Ancient Mercy. Seeing them, Yang Qi nodded.
"I never would've thought that this father and daughter team would be among the ambitious rebels. To think that she has the legacy of the ancient Cold-Jade Saber God, and Ancient Dirge has the legacy of the Lord of Chaos, the mighty Chaos Banner. It's said that the Lord of Chaos was a Paramount God of similar reputation to the Lord of Civilization. There are thirteen of those banners, each of which is filled with the power to destroy heaven and extinguish the earth. Combine them and you can throw all heaven and earth into chaos, inflicting heavy casualties on our armies. You truly are ambitious and ruthless, but I saw through your plot."
"Yang Qi, there's no need for you to be so domineering!" Ancient Mercy said. "Just release us! You're relying on King Immortal-Slayer's legacy medallions, and they won't keep you going forever."
"League-Lord, I can be very useful to you!" Ancient Dirge said, taking a much different approach. "Daughter, enough with your nonsense! There's still time to show loyalty to the League-Lord."
"Still time?" Yang Qi said. He could tell that these were people who would change their minds at the drop of a hat. Without any warning, he shoved both of his palms out, and the two of them exploded into ash. Before it could dissipate, Yang Qi absorbed it.
Then he waved his hand, and screams rang out as all the disloyal old-timers in Heaven-Dao Operation God-Temple were also reduced to ash.
The rebellions in the Dao Defense League had been put down, and complete unity had been attained. Going forward, Yang Qi was now much more confident that the quality of the destiny he could acquire would improve dramatically.

"You're... gonna die too?" I couldn't think straight. There were many things that I couldn't understand. Like what was lifestream? And why would anyone do such horrible thing like cutting one of the wings of such a sweet angel? I was shaken by what he had told me. Those memories of my sister taking her last breath on the hospital bed flashed in my mind. I was terrified.

"Well, I don't have any answer to that question." 

"But you just said..." 

"I was telling you why I've only one black wing." 

"But..." 

He turned to change his position as to lay comfortably on his back and placed his left hand over mine. Even with his eyes closed, he could tell that I was frightened. Perhaps he had a third eye. He gripped my hand a slight and it felt soothing. Like the music coming out of the flute. Like the sunshine falling on your skin in winters. Like the sight of nature that captivates you and you forget to close your eyes. It was something like that. 

"I'm kind of different. My wing had rot after two years. This is the third year. But I'm still alive. I'm an anomaly. I've never seen, nor heard of anyone staying alive even after their wing turned black. I should have been dead long ago but I'm still alive and talking to you." I was so relieved after hearing that. 

"You're special."

"Perhaps." He smiled. That look on his face showed that he was reminiscing about something. I too smile like that sometimes, remembering my family. 

"So how come you wear this white scarf if you like black that much?" I wanted to ask this ever since he told me that he loves black colour. 

"It was a gift from a friend. My first friend." His smile widened, almost reaching his ears. I was glad he had friends too even though they call him with horrible names. 

"That person must be really special to you."

"Yeah, she is." His eyes were closed but I noticed his changed expression. 

She? 

I don't know why but I was thinking that it was a guy who gifted him that scarf. A girl didn't even pop in my mind. I was kind of taken aback. A little anxiousness, a little sadness and a little hate. Those little things mixed and filled my heart to the brim. It wasn't the 'hate' hate. It was 'I don't like you' hate. I wondered why I was feeling like that for an unknown person. That feeling was kind of new to me. 

I thought he considered only me special the way he referred to me as an angel but the thought that he could call someone else by similar things was too much for me. I couldn't take it. Idiot, dufes, stupid. I wanted to call him all those things but I couldn't. My mind echoed with them though. 

"So who is she?" What the hell was wrong in my mind that I asked about that girl. I didn't want to talk about her. I didn't want to listen him say any of that stuff. 

"I'm afraid I can't tell you for now." I was relieved that he didn't start it. My inner self did a happy dance even though I'm bad at dancing. I hoped my happiness didn't form a smile on my face. His eyes were closed so it wouldn't have mattered anyway. 


"When my wing was cut, I was sure I would die," he spoke. It was the first time he was saying something without me asking. "I went to Gehenna. I had decided to take as many demons as I could with me. It was purely out of revenge... I was blinded by rage. Drowned in madness, I killed as many of them I could. I killed and I killed and... I killed..." His eyes opened. He looked away from me, at the ceiling. I saw the sadness lurking in his eyes. This man was so broken. I could see that he has suffered. But it was hard to believe what he told me. 

"I don't believe you."

"Mother summoned me back to Eden and now, I am exiled for my sins. The judgement is the very proof of my wrongdoings."

"But..." I was going to tell him that other angels fell too. 

"Those with power shall use it to help those that don't." 

"Noblesse oblige."

"That was what mother taught me. But I did the exact opposite. I gave in to my desires." His right hand moved, trying to reach out to the ceiling, perhaps trying to point out that he fell from there. "And my exile is my punishment. If mother considers that was a sin and exiles me, I don't care."

It's was so mysterious. I had seen only sweetness and warm innocence in his soul. He wasn't faking any of that. Whenever I saw him smile, I saw only light. I felt happy inside. I guess the reason his smile was so bright was that he knew what sadness feels like. Because he was brave enough to smile despite all the pain he had inside his heart. 

I was sure that some parts of his story had truth in them. 

I wished I could help him somehow in carrying this pain of his. 

I reached out for his hand that was still hovering in mid-air as he looked upon it with heavy eyes. My fingers curled around his as I gripped his hand and took it down. 

"It's not a sin, little Black." he didn't reply back. Perhaps thinking of me as a liar. 

"When someone loses something precious to them, they break..." I wanted to have a pep talk with him to lift up his mood but I didn't know what to say to him. I was so bad at these things. In the end, I decided to be honest. "At least, I would not consider you a sinner even if you did all those things."

He didn't say anything. Instead, his left hand came out of covers and tried to cover his eyes. But that trail of the tears born in his eyes and dying on the pillow wasn't unnoticed to me. 

"You know, you are more angelic than anyone I've ever met." He spoke slowly. It was a funny statement. A human girl is more angelic than the angels... It was like saying lizards can be more terrifying than dinosaurs. I know he was just being generous but that was a huge compliment for me. I couldn't help but smile.

"You haven't changed, angel Eve." I guessed he was referring to the time when we were kids. Gosh, he never stops teasing me. I did say it was ok before but I was still curious about what happened back then. 

Dummy! 

"Huh" perhaps I spoke that loud. But it's all good. He didn't hear it clearly.

"So I kind of understand why you fell. You were forced out even though it wasn't your fault. But how come others fell too with you? Were they all your helpers when you 'went to Gehenna'?" I told him what I wanted to tell him for a while. All this time, he was thinking that only he had fallen down on earth. After all, his eyes were closed when he was falling.

"What are you talking about?" he removed his hand and asked in surprise. I saw a faint shimmering line of water on his face formed by tears. 

"You're not the only one that fell. I saw many angels falling too. They fell all over the earth."

"That is impossible. The Judgement always works on one individual at one time. There is no way more angels could be exiled at once. Are you sure you saw them?"

"Yeah. Didn't I tell you that you look 'unlike' others," He seemed clueless at first wondering why I repeated my statement. His mind was too dense for his own good. "Unlike others" I repeated slowly, trying to give his poor brain enough information to process.

"I thought you were saying that based on assumptions." He finally understood and I was glad.

"No, I wasn't. I saw three more angels with my own eyes and many more in the  videos."

I saw my laptop lying on the table. I grabbed it and turned it on to show him the proof. I knew the debate about falling angels would not be suppressed that easily. You don't see falling angels every day. And I was right. There were many talks and controversies all around. 

People with different thoughts were clashing and debating. Some said that it was the end of the world. Some said that angels have come to cleanse this world of bad things. Some said more angels have fallen like satan. The governments still 'blamed' it on new advancement in technology. The government was full of liars. But I guess they had to do it to prevent chaos. I wondered how many more lies they had told us before. 

He looked carefully. Trying to make some sense out of it. Just then those videos of falling black winged angel that everyone referred to him as the monster started playing. I tried to switch it off quickly. He shouldn't hear such stuff about himself. But he held my hand. He wanted to see it through. Monster that New_Dawn said again. My blood boiled, yet again. 

"Do you know I'm known as a this in Eden too." He told me after the video ended.

"What do you mean?"

"That is the nickname I didn't tell you before. It's my favourite one. Monster." His eyes said something else. He spoke so many lies even when he knows his eyes can't hide the lies. Always trying to hide his feelings, behind the mask of a smile. He was strong. Very strong indeed. If it were me, I would probably have tried to beat the crap out of whoever called me like that. 

I guess that wasn't his fault. The world is cruel. If you're soft as a flower, you'll get trampled upon. But sometimes, and not every time, you should be weak too. Being weak is what makes us humans because then we know why we need to be strong. 

"You shouldn't hide it. Whatever they might say, you're not a monster."

"Well, I'm more monstrous than anyone else out there." 

"You're not." I protested again. 

"I am." Like a stubborn child, he didn't agree. I liked that innocent twin of this stubborn kid more. 

I slapped him, lightly. 

"I will hit you very hard if you say that again about yourself," I threatened him.

He was asking for it. He looked at me with a plain gaze. I guessed he was angry. But instead of being angry, he just gave me a wide smile before I could say sorry. There was really something wrong with his head. You don't smile when someone slaps you. This angel was crazy. 

"Thanks." I didn't understand why he said it. Well, it prevented me from saying sorry. So it was good from my side. 

He closed his eyes and got lost in thoughts after that. I just sat there in silence even though I wanted to disturb him with my questions. And then after some time, he opened his eyes. 

"Can you give me your phone?" he asked and I saw his hand had a silver-black business card. He had drawn it out I nowhere! 

"Yeah, but why?"

"I have to call someone."
