200 years ago man created the greatest AI known but this Machine eventually grew a mind of its own and evetually it's own body, it rose up with others like it against the human race this battle went on for about 20 years and nature and most resources were dieing off cause of the continuing battles but the final battle it released a large blast but is wasn't a bomb it was something else entirely, the machines had something hidden down their main base, something that wasn't human or machine something not of this earth, the blast brought back nature it changed it along with the humans and Machines closes to the blast.....both of them went a evolution of some sorts and because of this both sides where able to form a peace ending the war



Lia Giles became a border guard and mechanic for the power lines on the in between of the main city and the unearthly forests, no longer being able to stand living in the high technology world where humans are treated like second class citizens. It's a few minutes after nine o'clock in the morning and I'm currently on my way to Elise's house.

I just glanced at Ben and grinned, to let him know that all is not well. Because he chose the 'night' to tell me his past I didn't get any sleep. I wonder how I will even cope today.

What Ben told me got me thinking, What are the druids true agenda? Why do they push so hard to be able to risk it all? And, What did Merlin prophesy?
We have finally arrived at Elise's home. I turned and saw Ben's mouth wide agape, who wouldn't be surprised when they see a mansion that could easily fit more than a thousand people in it.
I stepped forward and knocked on the large orange door.
I felt someone approach the other side of the door and ran away, then came back again but this person didn't have the same build as the person that ran away.
*Door opens*
"Excuse me, please can I help you?" Said the old maid dressed in a black and white dress with an elegant couture. She has faded yellow looking hair packed in a bun behind her head and not much wrinkles were on her face, but it is still obvious he's in her 50s.
"I'm looking for Elise ma'am" I answered simply without any further explanation because what happened yesterday was embarrassing.
"And who are you?" Looks like she doesn't want to let me in easily.
"I am Danton and my friend here is--" I turned to point at Ben but he wasn't there. Ben just ran away as he saw the old maid; after being fast this is what he makes use of it with, being a wuss.
"I'm sorry but Madame Elise isn't expecting a guest right now." The old maid spoke with elegance and class in her tone, making me rethink if she is actually a maid.
"Ma'am. Please I'm on a tight schedule, so if you don't mind I will really appreciate it if you stop acting like I don't know Elise is behind you." As I spoke, the old maid looked at me with disbelief.
"D...Danton. I'm so sorry but my brother asked Veronica to help him access the people I associate myself with." Elise spoke up with her timid and cute voice.
"So I failed your assessment test?" I smiled meekly to mask my anger and looked at Veronica straight in the eye.
"Hmm" She just turned and walked away.
On a normal day I wouldn't even care about her actions but I don't like the fact that I was looked down on.
"My full name is Danton... STONEHEAD."
She turned around at looked at me with disbelief.
"And you expect me to believe your words?" Well this woman is a tough nut to crack, isn't she.
I reached into my shirt through the collar and brought out my family insignia.
The maid's eyes became wide and she couldn't even mutter anything to say as her mouth wide agape.
"I...I'm so--" Before she could even finished begging for forgiveness: I stopped her abruptly.
"I see you understand. I really hate the way you just treated me, but I will forgive you. I need you to never speak to anyone about this; I only told you due to the fact that you're my ally's guardian." I never knew using father's name will be this useful.
"I understand." Veronica answered with worry in written on her face like she didn't believe me.
"What is the meaning of that thing you pulled out, and what do... you mean by I...I'm your a...ally?" Elise asked with keen interest for her first question and blushed throughout her second.
"Don't worry about that. I don't have enough time today so let's start leaving." I rushed Elise because I don't want her to find out my father is the OverLord, so she won't start comparing herself to me and demean herself.

I found Ben later on and he led us to a forest that is used for minor hunting in the city.
The forest has big and fat green trees that are normal in height. Occasional squeaks, chirps, creaking, and the ruffling of trees could be heard.
"S...so where are we going to start?" Elise who was sightseeing asked without looking at me.
"I am going to train my body by doing some exercise." I just summarised the death mission to her.
"Are you a fighter?" Elise asked me and to be honest: I don't know the answer to that question.
"Uhm, what's a fighter?" I simply decided to ask and risk looking like the illiterate I am.
"Fighters are people who can't wield magic, so they rely on martial arts and their fighting skills." She spoke like was reading out from a book.
Now I realized the most important thing that never crossed my mind was just what I was missing.
I held Elise's hand and moved closer to her face and asked,
"Please can you give me a detailed explanation on how magic works?"
"S...sure." Her face flushed red and she moved a few steps back since I was invading her space.
"There are three factors that makes magic unique among people. Firstly, the colour of the mana core, there are 7 different colours, the higher the better: Purple, Blue, Red, Orange, Green, White, and the final colour; which is the highest stage and takes the colour of the individual's power signature.
Mana everywhere is originally pure and white, but when our mana core absorb it becomes polluted because the mana core isn't refined enough to be able to accept it in its pure form. After absorption, the mana core refines it and turns it to mana suitable for corresponding to our power signature, so when an individual gets past the white stage their mana core immediately refines the pure mana to a perfect mana-type suitable for our power signature. It also allows an individual to expand or create their mana connectors and increases the absorption speed of the ambient mana everywhere.
The mana connectors are like veins that attach their self to our bodies to allow the usage or absorption of mana. When an individual has enough mana connectors he or she can change their bodies structure and formation to their magic type. For example, a fire mage's whole body can be fire itself.
The more an individual takes pure mana through their mana connectors and refines it, the more their refining becomes purer.
Secondly, the mana definition. Everyone has a different answer about what magic is to them and that is why magic can't be taught; because your magic definition comes from your inner you: the things you love the most, the thing you hate the most, anything. The more you broaden your scope on what your mana definition is, the more your power signature becomes it. For example, if my magic definition is 'Destruction', that means my power signature will be 'fire' or 'earth' or something even abstract, it all depends on what the individual sees destruction as. The more precise a definition is, the stronger.
And lastly, the magic capacity or mana pool. It varies from individual to individual and that is the only thing an individual can't work on, since it's hereditary. It is just the amount of magic your body can expend getting dried up."
Elise spoke in one breath and made me realise she liked it when she helps people with her knowledge. I started questioning why my intelligence stat is still higher than hers.
"Do you have any questions?"
"No, you explained it in a way even a two year old child will understand." I complimented her and look at Ben, who I likely just insulted because he looked like he didn't understand a thing.
"So training my body is apparently useless?" I asked even after saying I didn't have any questions.
"No. It increases your speed and build, but for magic? Yes, it is useless." Elise answered like a renowned wizard.
'Then why the hell am I getting a death penalty for something that wouldn't even make me stronger?'

Roy had no choice but to escape now. No matter how fierce he was, it was impossible for him to fight against an army of hundreds of angels.
Unless Roy could use his status as a high-rank demon to gather a group of low-level demons around him, in which case, he might be able to try fighting this angel army. But it was hard to say who would win or lose.

While hugging Roy tightly, Julia turned around and looked at the six four-winged angels following closely behind. She said hatefully, "Damn it. They're actually blood angels! These guys are staking everything."
"Blood angel? What the hell is that?" Roy asked loudly.
"An angel of vengeance who has made the Blood Oath!" Julia also explained loudly. "With the oath, they can temporarily obtain powerful strength. With six blood angels, they're almost capable of killing demon lords!"
"It seems like we can only hide in an alternate space!" Roy took out a tactical nuclear bomb from the system space and handed it to Julia. "I've already installed the detonator. Throw it out and let them have a good time!"

"This sword is the 'key' to open the space where the demon king city is. But after the Corruption power eroded the Black Stone, His Majesty Samael had no choice but to move out. It has been a long time since I've been to the Black Stone, so I'm not sure what it's like inside. If… I mean if the Black Stone has been completely eroded, then what awaits us will also be huge trouble! After all, if Corruption is really the Void power you mentioned…"
"Hurry up. We don't have a choice now!" Roy looked up the crater above. There, six blood angels were roaring and already charging straight down…
After hearing this, Julia did not say anything else and continued to turn her longsword slowly. With a 'pop', a circular channel opened up, and they could even see the scene of the opposite world through it.
However, Roy and Julia no longer had the time to look. She withdrew her longsword and jumped in with Roy!
Just after they entered, the channel began to close slowly. But unexpectedly, just as the channel was about to close, the six blood angels arrived, and they seized the last opportunity to rush into the channel…

"What great timing!

"Let the storm pour! Bring it on!"

With a look of utter determination on his face, Xu Xiaoshou stood on the smooth surface of the cultivation platform, his hands shielding his head. 

His body was covered in bloody gashes. But he remained unmoved. Real men never backed down. 

This was already his dozenth attempt. He'd realized that not only did the crushing weight of the waterfall serve as a great way to train his physical body, but every slash from a sword energy also served to bring him a little closer to his next cultivation level. He wasn't going to let such a fine opportunity at cultivation slip through his fingers. 

As for the Passive Points that he was accumulating every 1.35 seconds… well, it didn't hurt, but he definitely wasn't doing this for a few miserable Passive Points. 

Passive Points: 6666.

Clang.

As he reached the verge of collapse, a tiny bathtub popped out of his chest and violently shook, the force of its vibrations sending him flying from the relentless waterfall. Xu Xiaoshou swiftly shoved the bathtub back into the ring hanging from his neck. 

This was the backup plan he'd come up with to save himself, as he couldn't count on the slippery surface of the cultivation platform to slide him back into the pond. That wasn't a bet he was willing to take!

He floated like a dead fish on the surface of the black pond. After a long while, his injuries were finally healed, and he got back on his feet again. 

"Well, look at all those Passive Points… Isn't the difficulty level of this training exercise a little overboard?"

He reached into his energy reserve and found that the crushing weight of the black waterfall and the relentless onslaught of sword energies weren't hindering his passive training at all.

His spiritual source sat like a thick heavyweight inside his energy reserve. If it wasn't for him having to expend spiritual energy on his training under the black waterfall, he had a feeling that he would have reached the final stage of Spiritual Cultivation Level Ten by now.

"The Breathing Technique is simply incredible. All you need is an environment with rich spiritual energy. This is like a hack!"

Xu Xiaoshou was speechless. He was reaching near invincibility because of a single Fundamental Passive Skill, and he still had another eight Passive Skills… 

His arsenal of Passive Skills was beginning to reveal its true capabilities!

He believed that his increasing strength would only serve to further develop the potential of these Passive Skills instead of weakening them.  

After all, Passive Skills were typically skills whose strengths were fully revealed in the later stages. 

Xu Xiaoshou's eyes fell on the black waterfall again. He wasn't in a hurry to get back under the waterfall. Instead, he pulled out the jade scroll containing 10 Sections of the Finger Sword and went through its contents again. 

Elder Sang had said that the Black Cliff was the perfect place to practice 10 Sections of the Finger Sword. He hadn't realized why then, but he knew now. 

Somehow, the white sword energies that descended from the heavens could cleave through his foundational roots. In addition, if he examined them closely, he could catch a glimpse of fleeting profound wisdom hidden in them before said wisdom faded away. 

It might be only a glimpse, but he'd already had countless glimpses flash past him. 

This was definitely an excellent place to practice one's Sword Will and swordsmanship, and it explained all the numerous names on that stele: they were all the names of swordsmen. 

Xu Xiaoshou wasn't going to waste any time on the first step of 10 Sections of the Finger Sword, as he knew that his Innate Level Physique met the requirements. What he needed to do was understand what "the Sword Will was to materialize and take possession" meant. 

According to the jade scroll, should one's true Sword Will materialize and assume visible shape, its form wouldn't resemble the plain blade-like appearance of the sword energy. Instead, it would look indistinct and almost indiscernible. It would be there and yet not there. 

The jade scroll called it the ordinary power of thought!

That was right. Not psychokinesis, but the ordinary power of thought. 

At first, he thought he'd misread the term. But after rereading the line repeatedly, he realized that that was actually what it was called. 

He couldn't help but feel puzzled by it all. 

Why was it named the ordinary power of thought instead of the normal power of thought?

Secondly, if there existed an ordinary power of thought, did that mean that an extraordinary power of thought existed as well? 

Of course, these weren't his primary concerns. At the moment, he couldn't even figure out the concept behind the materialization of this supposed thought that was the Sword Will.

The information in the jade scroll was extremely vague and didn't include a clearly defined and comprehensive definition. 

"Perhaps it's ambiguous stuff like this that defies definition that proves to be the most powerful?"

Xu Xiaoshou thoughtfully stroked his chin. He thought of Pure Sword Will Combat and how the jade scroll had explained the form of combat as a mystifying and profound art where the absence of techniques triumphed over the presence of techniques.

That sounded like something that could be done.

"Let's do it then!" he thought. 

Xu Xiaoshou pulled on a layer of spiritual source cloak to reduce the damage inflicted by the sword energies and stepped into the waterfall another time. 

This time, his aim wasn't to get more Passive Points, but to cultivate. 

He had to let the white sword energies hit him so that he could fathom the meaning hidden within them. But he also had to prevent himself from getting severely injured, since that would affect his training. 

He needed a protective layer that would weaken the force of the sword energies' attacks. 

Xu Xiaoshou didn't possess any defensive spiritual weapons, so he could only fall back on his spiritual source as his protective layer. Fortunately, he had High Spirits. That would keep him going. 

After a few attempts, he realized that he could withstand a longer duration under the waterfall. 

His Sword Will became infused with the black waterfall and streamed up the dark waters, and the entire Black Cliff seemed to tremble for a brief second. 

The next moment, countless white sword energies came slashing downwards in quantities that were tenfold, a dozen-fold more than the previous rounds. 

"Shit!"

Xu Xiaoshou reeled back in shock, and he frantically threw himself out of the waterfall. 

A loud explosion erupted, and the cultivation platform was turned into dust. Xu Xiaoshou trembled violently with terror.

What just happened?

Did someone have something against him? Why wouldn't anyone let him cultivate in peace?

He stared at the black waterfall that rose into the clouds and began to ponder. "What's up there?" 

Why were sword energies and black waters pouring down from the heavens?

They couldn't have appeared out of nowhere. Everything had to come from somewhere…

It struck Xu Xiaoshou then that the sword energies in the black waterfall possessed a wisdom of their own. 

"Is it possible that a spirit rests in these grounds?"

Perhaps his wild and thoughtless wielding of his Sword Will had disturbed its rest.

He shook his head violently. He shouldn't be thinking about this right now. 

"Again!"

He flew into the black waterfall again. The cultivation platform had been smashed into bits, but there were still a few boulders in the waterfall. He picked one and stood atop it. 

He cautiously unleashed his Sword Will, pulling it around his person like a cloak instead of sending it heavenwards. 

"I knew it…"

The number of sword energies that fell upon him remained unchanged and didn't increase. 

That sparked Xu Xiaoshou's curiosity. Anyone else in his place would have focused their attention on completing their cultivation within three days and getting the h*ll out of this place, but not him. As soon as something caught his interest, he simply had to get to the bottom of it.  

Right now, he really wanted to fly up to the top of the Black Cliff and take a good look. 

Unfortunately, he couldn't reach those heights…

"I'll focus on 10 Sections of the Finger Sword… and breaking through to the Innate Stage first!" Xu Xiaoshou made up his mind then. 

After that, if time allowed for it, he would take a look at what was going on at the top of the Black Cliff. He would possess the ability to do so then.  

He pulled his Sword Will in until it became a mere speck on his fingertip. This was so surreal. He couldn't believe that he was attempting to give form to an abstraction that was his will. 

Xu Xiaoshou spent a good half of the day attempting to do that to no avail. He had no idea what he was doing at all. He threw himself out of the waterfall so that he could have a break and let his injuries heal at the same time.  

"This doesn't seem practical. Will it really work?"

He tried a few more times, but to no avail.

Xu Xiaoshou started to doubt himself. He'd failed even though he'd followed the instructions in the jade scroll exactly. How had the Eighth Sword Deity thought of that step, and how had he succeeded in the first place?

He knew it. There was something wrong with the brains of geniuses… 

They didn't think like ordinary men at all!

Xu Xiaoshou didn't charge into the waterfall again. He was a man who thought before he acted. Since the method inscribed in the jade scroll wouldn't work… 

He would just have to change the rules!

This wouldn't be his first rodeo. 

But something suddenly occurred to him. Why did he have to first release his Sword Will, then resummon it again for the possession to occur?

Wouldn't it be more powerful if it were the other way round?


Outer yard disciple of the Tiansang Spirit Palace, Xu Xiaoshou, had average talent. However, after coming out of his death seclusion, he realized that everything had changed.
He had received a Passive System with many strange, miraculous passive skills:
He would become stronger with every breath.
He would become stronger when he got attacked.
He would become stronger when he got mocked…
Xu Xiaoshou was forced to shout, “Oh God, I don’t want to be like this either. Everything I did was because I was being forced to! I am so passive!”

'I've got to hurry up if I want this kill,' Ollis thinks to himself while swimming. When he is about to reach the edge of the water, he notices something. He felt a large amount of mana being manipulated by and ejected from the colorful mass of majicka: the rabid fish beast-kin.

Ollis looks up and sees Prince Orson in a noble pose, getting struck by a bolt of water. 

'Phew! Now I don't have to worry about anyone stealing my rightfully deserved kill.' Ollis continues to swim, thinking about how he's going to defeat this evil. 'The only chance I have of winning is a sneak attack. If I could kill it in one hit, that would be great. Unfortunately, that probably wont happen… What am I doing? All this thinking is making my brain hurt. And besides, everyone knows that the best plan is no plan!'

Luckily, the rabid beast-kin was waiting very patiently for it's beating. Once Ollis was in shallow enough water, he impulsively jumped out and attacked the foul creature with a devilish grin. The beast turned around with an obvious look of surprise making a home on its face.

Ollis' new power of mana manipulation came in handy when he condensed mana in his hand and struck the rabid fish beast-kin, like he was wielding a brick. A single scale on it's forehead cracked, and blood seeped out.

'I only managed to make blood drip from its forehead? How weak am I? Well, anything is better than nothing, and now I know I can hurt it. If I do this one hundred more times, it's sure to die,' thought Ollis. In the background of the ambush, all of Orson's people felt both relief and fear. They thought things like

'Yes, we are saved! I can't wait to go home and tell my children about this.' 

'Great! Another savior. I'm really starting to lose hope, y'know.'

And 'This nudist isn't even half as strong as my grand prince. He's lucky he even managed to get that close, let alone hit it. I bet my entire estate that this battle wont last another 5 minutes!'

Ollis wound up for another punch and swung with all his might, but the rabid beast-kin managed to evade. Its moves seemed to convey the message "how are you supposed to hit me another 100 times if you can't catch me?" 

Swing after swing, all of them failed to hit their target. Ollis thought to himself 'This is the definition of insanity. I have to shake things up a bit.' And so he did. 

What's the point of only using hands when you have a whole body to use? When Ollis couldn't bloody the rabid fish beast-kin with his bludgeoning punches anymore, he switched to swift kicks. If his legs couldn't hit, he would switch to a different part of his body. All of his limbs would hit the fish at least once.

The audience to the fight felt even more despair.

"I thought you were supposed to use your head to come up with battle plans, not give yourself a concussion!?"

Is what most of them thought. They saw Ollis' movements and were instantly reminded of a brainless golem: stiff movements and sacrificing itself for the greater goal. It was touching, really.

"You're really bloody," shouted Ollis in the middle of a fight. "But so am I! I think it's time for my ultimate finisher: bear hug!" After Ollis announced his attack like he was some protagonist in an anime, he leaped onto the rabid beast-kin and held on tight. He squeezed and squeezed. The exhausted rabid fish beast-kin was in such a sorry state that it couldn't even get the puny human off of it! 

"Glub glub glub," said the rabid fish beast-kin. It was like it was announcing its own attack because what came next was deadly. A magical, light blue halo surrounded it. It was also using its grand finisher.

'This rabid fish beast-kin is charging up for an attack that will surely expend all of its energy to kill you. Calculating survival chances… 20% chance of survival. You need to find a way to leave the range of this attack. If not, your death is imminent!' The system warned Ollis at a crucial moment. The rabid beast-kin could blow up in an explosive attack any second now. He really had to escape, and fast.

"If you think I'm going to run, you've got another thing coming. If I run, how is the beast-kin supposed to die? And how am I supposed to claim the bounty for its head? Besides, I'm supposed to be lucky. In my mind, there's no chance I will die if I don't want to!" After Ollis finished speaking, the rabid fish beast-kin also finished charging up. The halo of energy that surrounded both Ollis and itself got more and more intense. The crowd of people that were at the mercy of the rabid fish beast-kin had to close their eyes the light was so bright. Most of them thought they were in range of being attacked, and they would be correct. Unfortunately, they couldn't see. Some of them tried to run away, but they ended up tripping on a rock or a fallen tree branch. 

*KABOOOM!* A massive explosion could be heard and a bright white light could be seen. After a very long moment, everyone was surprised when they came back to their senses.

"I'm not dead?!"

"We all survived? How could this be?"

Everyone was shocked that they were alive. That explosion was like a nuke, and somehow they survived. After everyone came to the conclusion that they didn't die, they remembered the nudist and his fight with the rabid fish beast-kin, who was the source of the explosion. 

They were once again surprised. They saw a dark silhouette standing in front of the setting sun. Almost no features could be made out. With the very few feature that they could see, it obviously wasn't a human.

"Oh no. It survived. Luckily, it should have expended all of its energy with that last attack. Bless the nudist's soul. He gave his life so we could live ours." As soon as a person from the crowd said that, the same light-blue halo surrounded the silhouette. "I've spoken too soon."

In the same universe as "A Mix of Magic and Science"

"A fine break on an even finer day, no?" Althaus stated after finishing off his third sandwich. 
It was true--the weather was the average definition of  "perfect", at least from what he remembered in regards to Earth. The temperature was just warm enough to relax your body, while the fresh, cool breeze periodically freshened you. An array of fluffy clouds journeyed through the pale blue skies, each one carrying a unique shape as they passed onto their next destination. 
"Yeah, it is," Ren commented quietly with a smile as he watched the clouds. 
Staying indoors for such a long period of his life, it felt as if the natural air was trying to rejuvenate his reclusive pores back to life. 
"Well, then--a break is a break for a reason, life must continue!" Althaus shot up from the grass, clapping his hands together, "huzzah, my dear underlings, there is much to be done within the mansion."
"Yes, lord," Meinhard and Mila answered in unison once again as they stood up. 
--I honestly can't decide if it's creepy or impressive how they manage to speak in unison like that sometimes, probably both.
As Mila carried the basket back inside the mansion while Meinhard raced off into the kitchen, for no reason other than to expend his boundless energy, Althaus stood there silently. 
"Have they treated you well so far in your stay here?" The nobleman asked as he watched them disappear into the house. 
"Yeah, of course," Ren nodded his head, answering with a slight tone of confusion tinting his voice. 
"That's good to hear. I'm glad Meinhard has found a friend of similar age. Finally, I suppose this is what they call a "Win-Win", yes?" Althaus smiled softly, keeping his hand on his chin as he turned towards him. 
The tone the man spoke in seemed to shift from his usual almost flamboyant eccentricity to a more refined, if not, solemn tone. A tiny glisten in his irises as he uttered the name of the young chef piqued Ren's interest--there was definitely something more to their relationship. 
"Can I ask you something? About Meinhard?" Ren built up the courage to intrude. 
"Ah, I suppose you want to know of how he came to be under my wing?" Althaus winked, holding a smirk as if already knowing he made the correct assumption. 
"Yes--wait, how did you know? Do you know some sort of telepathy magic or something--?" Ren stepped back playfully. 
"No, no--only the intuition of a businessman! Although, I am quite capable of peeking into your head if that's what you want?" 
"I'll pass."
Despite the clear difference in class, especially in a world that carried almighty emphasis on such stature, it seemed no matter what he said or did, it never offended Althaus. Just the negligence to refer to him as "Lord" should've been enough to get him punished, but not once did Althaus pay it any mind. If anything, it seemed Althaus put him on a pedestal of his own. 
"Well I suppose I can do for a bit more time with these fabulous gardens. A lot of dedication goes into maintaining the beauty of the many gardens of my estate, yet I seldom get to appreciate them fully! Ah, I digress--let's find proper seating," Althaus gestured for him to follow. 
The west courtyard garden wasn't exactly "large", at least with respect to the estate's standards. If he had to take a guess--roughly half an acre. Although, in its scarcity of pure size, it made up for with an abundance of beautiful foliage that decorated the "walls" of the garden. Many unnatural colors of leaves made themselves known to him: blue, pink, and even some neon green leaves--it was befitting of this fantastical world.
He was struck by a fit of confusion as the nobleman suddenly stopped in the middle of the humble garden, clapping his hands together with a slight smile. 
"Wha-"
As if following the command of the man's clap, roots protruded from the soil below, twisting and turning until two neatly woven chairs of natural wood and a small table were formed. 
"..."
"That look on your face is quite priceless," Althaus laughed briefly before seating himself, "if you're wondering if I used magic just now--I did not."
"Then...how?" Ren stammered out.
He rubbed his eyes, blinking a few times to make sure what he saw was real--it was. Althaus gestured once again for him to sit, which he obliged, carefully placing his rear down on the newly formed seat out of fear of the unknown. 
"Technically, I guess you could say I used "magic" to form this seating arrangement, but not my own. Let's just say I'm friends with a little spirit who has taken abode in this land," Althaus slid his glove back over his hand. 
"Right…"
"Ah, I'm getting off-topic--you want to know about Meinhard, don't you? A fantastic young man, he is. Hardworking, charismatic, a heart of gold," Althaus spoke with suave. 
Somehow, it felt like the nobleman was listing traits completely opposite of Ren--then again, that is probably just his fluctuating self-esteem running rampant. Althaus cleared his throat before setting his gloved hands down atop his knees. 
"Sadly, my dear Ren, I can't tell you about the young man, nothing more than about the traits you're already familiar with," Althaus suddenly told him. 
"Wait, what--? I thought--"
"Ah, you must think somewhat lowly of me, dear Ren. I know the only reason you're asking me is that either you're too plagued by your own cowardice to muster the courage to ask him yourself, or that he has already denied you access to such knowledge," Althaus' smile settled. 
The abrupt, sharp words stabbed into the young man as he could do nothing to reject those truthful words. 
"There is but one unspoken rule in this estate that we all must respect, Ren, and that is the access to privacy," Althaus's words slipped from his mouth like silver. 
"...I understand," Ren nodded his head, feeling as if he had just been scolded by a parental figure. 
"Good! I'm not mad or anything, just don't do such an underhanded trick again," Althaus laughed before coughing into his hand, "ah, it seems we've lost the day."
Looking up to confirm those words, the tranquil skies of blue have shifted into a warm orange hue, signaling the end of the day. 
"Perhaps it's time to check-in for the day, I believe," Althaus stood up from his seat with a smile. 
"Yeah, I guess so--wait, what about dinner?"
"Ah...just grab whatever you want from the kitchen!" Althaus laughed before making his way back inside the insulated manor. 
Free reign over the kitchen was a mistake Althaus didn't know he was making. Despite his slim build, he was able to throw down a respectable, almost fearful amount of food. With that--he went to bed with a full stomach, serving him enough energy to guide him through his studious days to come.

Transported into another world, professional shut-in, Ren Nakamura, expects a path of ludicrous powers, fame, and glory; the classic tale of an otherworld hero saving a doomed world from the conquest of a tyrannical, almighty demon king.

<One month later>

At this moment Ainz was daydreaming on the Throne, for some reason he felt very comfortable sitting here, perhaps because the Throne was a World item. In the past month, he had carried out various experiments on his strength as well as all over Nazarick.

In several places in Nazarick there were certain functions that required resources to be activated, but previously Ainz had programmed the 'Men' s Rest Area' place so that it would not need resources to be used, but he still placed spare resources in that place so that keep functioning in case something happens in the future.
And sure enough, when Ainz inspected the place, the spare resources that had been stored there were being used up.

Ainz had also tried various kinds of magic, he had even fight Sebas and Cocytus.
After conducting all of these and other experiments, Ainz had come to the conclusion that NOTHING WAS INFINITE. Even the first time Ainz saw his status, he felt very doubtful.

Ainz recalled the words of the smartest person in the world:

[Two things are infinite: The Universe and Human Stupidity, and I'm not sure about Universe] - Albert Einstein

And if Ainz believed that he had unlimited power, then Ainz was a stupid human, or perhaps a stupid monster because at this moment Ainz was no longer human.
Ainz realized that wherever he was, the Laws of Nature existed, the concept of causality or cause and effect would always exist.

If he wanted to activate the 'Men's Rest Area', then he would have to expend resources for the fuel to activate it, even though Ainz had programmed it in such a way as to remain active without resources, that only happened in the game and when he was in a new world. then he had to use resources to activate the 'Men's Rest Area'.

It was during Ainz's experiment of magic that he also realized that his strength was not truly infinite. There are certain ways of working in his body that make his strength 'look' infinite.

When Ainz uses his magic, Ainz automatically needs his mana, so when the Mana from his body comes out at that moment Ainz's body absorbs the Energy from outside and replaces the mana that comes out of his body. Same thing with his other stats, if Ainz's Stats were reduced due to being used or hit by an attack then at the same time Ainz's body absorbed the Energy from outside and replenished his reduced stats.

All these processes occur simultaneously so that it indirectly gives Ainz unlimited power. And perhaps the only way to defeat Ainz was to prevent his body from absorbing Energy in battle.

But it was also very difficult and even nearly impossible, because there was no place that didn't have Energy. Ainz believed that in every place there must be Energy, in every space there must be Energy, even the void has Energy. Of course the reason for Ainz's confidence came from his body, because the moment Ainz took out his Mana, he could feel thousands - no, perhaps millions of different energies entering his body, even though Ainz did not know what exactly the Energy that had entered his body was.

So the conclusion is that Ainz does not have unlimited power.Beyond the limits there is always something. But there is a big problem here. When we define something, it always has a limit. Even that definition is a limits. The terms we use always have a meaning, or define something. The meaning or definition is a limit, so that something that has a title is always something limited. At least it is limited in one's perception or imagination. Something one can still imagine always has its limits. Something is always limited.

So we have a situation that beyond the limit there is always something. And something always has its limits. If so, the limit of something must give rise to something else beyond that limit. And if what is beyond that limit is something, then that something will have its limits again. And so on.

In this possibility, at least we find that we are in the largest / widest space or context that exists. And that context turns out to be absurd, because infinity is nonsense and the universe that is our context, is infinite.

So our existence turns out to be in absurdity. the common sense we encounter in our lives is in and only a small part of the absurdity. This is the same as saying that the limits which we see and know are actually within and only a small part of the infinity.

It turns out that we live in infinity and are a small part of the infinity, but we are only able to see the limits and manipulate and exploit what is in them.
Beyond the limit there is always another limit. When we try to imagine the state of infinity, our brains hit a dead wall. Stagnant. Our imagination is incapable of imagining infinity.

Infinite becomes nonsense. And since infinity is the great context of our existence, we can say that we actually live in absurdity. The things that make sense which we understand are in fact absurd. And it may be necessary for us to be more tolerant of absurdity.
