"Very nice! I'm glad you shared a story with the class." The teacher said smiling. I smiled at her response to my story. "I will be showing a list of some more examples so please write them down." The teacher said while clicking the presenter back on. She opens a presentation on the screen that has a long lists of words. The first one on the list is short, what does that mean? Next is Tall, soft, hard, light, dark, large, small, high, low, loud, quiet, pretty, thin, thick. I recognized a few slightly from my mother's stories but many were unfamiliar. I remember some of the buildings mother described she described as tall, I think I kind of know what that one means. I jot down the words in my notes, saying them aloud to myself under my breath. I whisper the parts of the word. I wonder how I'm supposed to pronounce these words. 




The recess bell rang, Inas rushed off to the Brilliant headquarters.

Wall magazine team member auditions are divided into two sessions. 
The first session is carried out at the first break, and the second session was held at after school hours.

At that time Inas was ready in front of the Brilliant Headquarters, quite busy checking the data once again. 
Inas is known as a perfectionist, so she is very reliable.

"My name is Ubaid, from grade 11," the voice of a male student in a heavy tones stood in front of the Inas table.

"All right, just a moment," answered Inas without looking up, then check the name in the list of names created.

She read carefully. But repeatedly read, she did not find the name.

"Why there is no? Did you return the registration form?," asked Inas then changed to check the pile of registration form data next to it.

Even then she did not look up, keep her head down, staring at the sheets of paper.

"I've checked it three times and your name is still missing," confused Inas, now her lifted her head and was very surprised by the presence of a young man who was standing in front of her.

The young man smiled at Inas's reaction who looked confused and annoyed.

"Astaghfirullaah, i really checked it seriously," Inas protested when she knew that the dimple was standing in front of her.

That's why she didn't find it!.

"Sorry, you look too serious," said Abad with a smile.

Then someone appeared near Inas's table, looking annoyed at Abad.

"So good luck with your duty," said Abad while slowly stepped back.

Someone who stares at Abad is none other than Awan.

And interview activities began, there will be dozens of participants attending the first session. Maida, not registered in that session.

He was registered in the second session. Honestly, Inas is quite curious about her. From the examples of short stories that are included, describes her maturity in processing a story.

Her short story immediately became the topic of conversation for Brilliant seniors earlier that week.

Until it seemed she couldn't wait to see  the interview this afternoon.

And that afternoon arrived, the afternoon that Inas had been waiting for.

"You're so busy," said the dimple when he saw Inas getting ready to return in front of Brilliant headquarters.

Inas smiled then confirmed.

"Aren't you there any art drawing today?," asked Inas, seeing Abad carrying a backpack and looked like he was going home.

"Why do you know all the art drawing schedules?," said Abad, who immediately made Inas's cheeks flushed.

So that Inas shook her head quickly.

"Not really, i'm just guessing," answered Inas, obviously she was lying.

Abad who knows it looks smiling.

"Today the coach was unable to come. So the schedule was postponed the day after tomorrow," obviously Abad still has a big smile.

"Oh...," Inas just said oh? It was because she was still thinking about the embarrassing incident just now.

"Okay, keep the spirit alive!. Assalamu'alaikum."

"Wa'alaikumsalam," slowly Inas answered Abad greetings.

And exactly half an hour after school, the second interview session started.

A person who made Inas curious has arrived among the attendees. Maida looks calm and not least bit nervous like the others.

She greets Inas, until Inas replied with a smile too.

Inside the Brilliant headquarters looks Awan, Atika, and two other Brilliant members sat in their respective chairs as interviewers for candidate members of the Wall magazine.

Each participant will get different questions and challenges, everything has been prepared by the Brilliant team manager.

"Maida Almeera Husna," Inas calls out Maida's name.

Then the beautiful girl stood up, stepped confidently to face one of the interviewers.

From where she sat, Inas turns her head. Maida sits in front of Awan's table. 

Inas knows with very well that Awan is the one who will make it difficult for anyone who wants to join Brilliant, he did not hesitate  to throw difficult questions and challenges.

But if it's true Maida is a talented person, she should be able to get past that barrier without difficulty. Remembering the short story she included with the last registration form.

Inas can remember it clearly, because she read the short story to the end.

The fictional story she tells is not the theme of romance or friendship that writers at her age often use, it's about a complicated psychological problem.

Honestly, Inas has always had a hard time writing themed stories like that. 
So far Inas does not like writing complicated stories full of emotion. 
She prefers to write stories that are rather light  and entertaining.

Several times she tried to write a rather complicated story, and it was not easy.

"Inas, are you daydreaming?," scolds Atika who approached Inas table.

"Sorry," answered Inas immediately realized, and she didn't find any Maida there.

The results of the interview were announced, and Maida got top marks. 

Inas was quite surprised, Maida got top marks with Awan interviewing her? It is a wonderful thing.

Three days after the interview, the selected members officially join the Brilliant team.

Now the Brilliant team continues to focus on the annual wall magazine competition agenda. Last year the Brilliant team managed to set foot in the semifinals.

This year their determination is to win a trophy, they hope is to get third place.

To win second place, especially first place...not pessimistic but the highest target is to win third place first.

"Inas! remind again, the short story follows the theme," said Awan that afternoon.

Ouch, that's what makes Inas dizzy. Until that day she had no idea for the short story. 

The next day Inas did a search in the library, she was looking forward to getting ideas from the many readings there.

On that occasion Inas found a void.  
While crossing that hallway, for several days she had not heard that warm greeting.

The dimple...these few days Inas never saw him again. But usually really not like that.

"What happened to you, Inas?," asked Alvin, Abad's cousin whose class is next to Abad's class.

Inas immediately shook her head. Even though it was clear every time she crossed the hallway, her steps always slow down with her eyes that are often focus on that class.

Alvin smiled at Inas's reaction, then he moved away from the sight of Inas, without giving further explanation.

Inas didn't ask either, eeeh...she didn't have the guts to ask that far.

That phrase may make you peculiar, something normal, usual, common, and ordinary. What's more, it may even be used by yourself or by people close to you. An even comical phrase, which the media have imposed on us against a background of satire and joke. But in reality, although the idea that Monday is held as the worst day of the week seems to be from this century, it was said by someone forty years ago (1979), at the end of the seventies, and in a context not very healthy, much less comical, at least, not for their victims or their families.
Brenda Spencer was a teenager of only 16 years old when she said that, when she was arrested by the police after shooting clothes at an educational institution, from one of the windows of her house for six agonizing, thunderous, and chilling long hours. An ordinary person, like you or me, who one day simply decided to shoot a group of children because she noticed that they were easy prey... Oh, right, and because she was bored.
Some time ago a very close friend had a pending writing assignment, a job that consisted of writing something, whatever came to you and inspired you but only using a limit of sheets specified by the teacher. My friend wrote a story related to drugs. A girl trapped in a cell, from which it was almost impossible to escape. She never really wanted to lengthen the story, so I asked her permission to create a novel based on those few written sheets. Time passed and I was not very clear about what I wanted to write on top of that short, but intense story.
One of my personal pleasures is reading about the mental capacity of man, and this also includes his defects. Watching a documentary about Ted Bundy, I was bitten by the curiosity bug, and I started to read more in-depth about sociopathy (symptoms, treatments, and examples), and I was surprised that there are more than I imagined (cases), and that the number of mental illnesses of these characteristics has grown over time in a regrettable and silent way. Now sociopaths hide much better in a society shrouded in commercial garbage and fallacies in all the media. It was then, and only then, that I thought about writing about it, and taking as a basis that little story of yesteryear that I promised to follow, but did not fulfill, until now.
Rapes, drugs, executions, kidnappings... All of this is closely linked and happens from day to day without even realizing it, because they do not inform us at all well, or even worse, because we turn our heads when they put us the putrid reality in front. This book is a wake-up call for anyone who believes that progress in our civilized society is directly proportional to its perversion.
You will notice that it is divided into numeric subtitles since it will only contain four main chapters, which will be accompanied by various epigraphs, chilling phrases spoken by people who at some point in history existed (and exist), just to make others perish. The facts that you will read next are my own, ideas created and based on hours of information collected, but they are not historical or bibliographic events. That is, it is a compilation of fragments of life from the worst class of people you can imagine, but not focused on just one, and based on that, I managed to create an original and fictitious story. A satire on prejudice, and aggressive enough to give you the illusion that it is real.
Without further clarification, I hope from the bottom of my being, you enjoy reading as much as I enjoyed it... Or this time not so much, in writing it.

- If this article is very tough to understand, then you need to improve your English for at least a few weeks before writing a novel in English. I'm no English expert.

Story Target: 
Know what type of story you are writing before writing it.
- If you plan to make the mc overpowered, or evil(or 'good', but a murderer), go for it but be clear on this at the beginning. 
- If you plan to make someone change their character from good to evil or opposite, it is good to plan this out at the beginning.
- It's exciting for a reader when they think the story is ending, but then the MC goes to a new place for a new adventure, so try and create a vast world to explore with lots of detail, places like seas and mountains. A part of the storyline could be in an underwater/underground kingdom, on a plateau, etc.
- Don't explain the structure of the whole world at the beginning of the book. Have the MC only know a bit about his location, and let the reader learn new things about the world with the MC.
- This is just an extra(it is not a must-have for a good novel, but I like it): Have a well thought out plot. Rather than bad guys sending thugs or hurting innocents while the MC goes around beating them up throughout the novel, plan out a more intricate scheme. I love to read moments when it feels like everything is going wrong, but it was all part of the plan. And this 'plan' shouldn't be some hidden power coming out and saving the day. Try to have characters solve problems by using their heads instead of brute force sometimes too. 

Clearly defined arcs
- Arcs should be well-defined with a beginning and end chapter.
- Arcs should be small(can range from 40 - 200 chapters based on your chapter length and the length of your entire novel). A significant arc can be longer, but the author can divide it into smaller sub-arcs. 
- Each arc should end with the tying up of some loose ends. Leaving too many loose ends(running storylines) could result in the reader losing track
- It's nice to hint some things early in the novel and then have them impact the story later, but only one or two characters(enemies and allies included) should be in this 'hinted' state, or we readers forget about them, which goes against the reason for the hint.
- It is ok to bring in new characters at crucial points in the story(like when the MC is close to death, etc.). However, doing this too much can make the plot armour too strong.

Good English
- Use Grammarly. This is very important. Grammarly is a software that will automatically correct most of your spelling and grammar errors.
- Language(grammar) is important. If your English isn't good, try taking some classes or asking a friend with good English to edit. Grammarly can help a lot here. 
- Sometimes re-reading your chapter helps you find a lot of mistakes(as what happened when I re-read this guide).
- Fluctuate sentences, making some long and some short to avoid exhausting a leader 
- Most sentences should be on the shorter side
- Sentences using conjunctions like 'and' many times are examples of those that could be split up.
- Obviously, follow the basic grammar rules, but also look into some higher-level language guidelines. There are great tips online on how to write well. Take the time to go through these, and try consciously implementing these in your novel.
- Capitalization: Always capitalize the first word of a sentence, and always capitalize the name of anyone or anything. 
- Never capitalize an entire word. Using italics, bold, full stops, commas, new lines, or capitalizing the first letter to emphasize but capitalized words are irritating to read. At most, you can capitalize loud sound effects like BAM! or THUD! but WRITING SENTENCES LIKE THIS IS ANNOYING.
- I'll write it again for emphasis. Use Grammarly. 

Chapter Updates:
- Premium: Charging for chapters is natural, and you deserve it for your work. But, try leaving the first 100 chapters free to get readers interested. Yes, readers might get the gist of your novel in the first five chapters, but they need to be more immersed in your story to spend money. Of course, 100 is an arbitrary number based on the average chapter length I've seen for such novels. If your chapters are longer, naturally, you know best. I would suggest two arcs as a good amount to leave free. 
- The faster, the better is true. The more chapters you release, the happier us readers will be, except if:
-- The rush to release chapters results in subpar chapters. Be careful of the tradeoff. Quality matters. While readers would like fast updates, there's no point if they don't like the novel itself. 
-- For translations, two chapters a day is a great speed. More than that seems sloppy.
-- For originals, 1 chapter a day is the max you should publish(unless your chapters are incredibly short). And even that seems like a lot to me. It takes time to write good stuff, so churning out hundreds of chapters super quick often means its not good work.


Breaking up the chapter into small paragraphs: 
- Leave two lines between paragraphs. This not only makes your novel seem a lot cleaner and easier to read, but it also makes chapters seem way longer ;P. 
- Large paragraphs should be written only when extremely necessary, where you have to describe a single aspect of something in detail. 
Giving someone's background, or explaining some part of the story or logic are not good things to write as big paragraphs. For these, an easy fix is to start a new paragraph every 3-4 sentences. It may seem trivial, but it makes a significant difference while reading.

A guideline for authors who are new to the business, written by a fan and veteran webnovel reader. These tips are what I think shows the basic quality of a novel, apart from its story. 

Recently, lots of originals have been popping up, and I have noticed that while they have great potential and exciting storylines and settings, the good aspects are buried in errors that could easily be corrected.

Authors, please give it a read. Of course, you will have your own thoughts and difficulties following these guidelines, but I feel that by following as many as you can, your novel will be more liked. Thank you!
