What happens in the end?

The teleportation devices that exists on first world countries can only teleport an atom or a molecule. And with the size of a coin it would be a major step in the history of humanity. But the reward to their team matters more frankly speaking. A Nobel Prize? Or perhaps oppurtunities at CERN or NASA? The sweet possibilities are close to their grasps.

Marcus lusciously stared on the air as he daydreamed some pleasant thoughts. He took a deep breath and concluded he can smell it, "the smell of success".

When he turned his head he saw the troubled face of Dex, despite the cold environment he was sweating as if it was hot. Dex sighed as he let out a worry.

"Dex, is something bothering you?" Marcus said.

"Hmm, I can't get it off my mind. The devices and fields in this school might affect the result of the experiment." Dex said as he rubbed his chin.

The thought flew over his head and he never thought of it. To be honest Dex was the most useful person on their team, he may be anxious at times but he could see through holes they often tend to overlook. 

And for his other friend, although not always reliable Marcus knew Raven was sharp on problems that require analytical thinking.

He gave his attention to the composed Raven beside him.
"And so what do say Rave, you're the IT expert?" He said.

"Ideally, if things go according to the calculations of my software. We have nothing to worry about." Raven said.

Marcus would have been fully relieved if not for the word 'ideally', Raven's response didn't really change his view on the project at hand. Worst case, the space-time field might go rampant and rip the the 4th dimensional continuum. And who knows what shinanigans might happen, at least anything but not blasting the entire school.

Raven's smartwatch started to flicker, an incoming message perhaps. Then a screen appeared which was projected by his watch. 

It was from Professor Zenner, he was the most well known professor in the campus but for the wrong reasons. His name even mentioned sends a shiver to their spines. 

Raven tapped a few holographic buttons and skimmed his eyes through the message.
"Well, it seems our presentation will be held in the afternoon. Most presentors before us took too much time." He said. 

Raven adjusted his glasses once more and stood up with a cheerful look as if there was nothing he's worried about. 

"Anyway, let's take a break, everyone." 
He said in a carefree manner.

Seeing the presentation on their computer wasn't done yet, a slight buldge of veins popped on Marcus' face, he then sneered.
"Raven better finish it up or I'm going to be upset."


Raven replied with a chuckle and placed his arms on his shoulders totally brushing off the heavy  pressure on their backs. 
"Come on it's almost noon break."

This time Marcus won't fall for such cheap trick, how many times did he do such act to avoid responsibility. Right now he was starting to get impatient and the thesis certainly needs their entire focus. No mistakes this time.

Dex with his usual displeased face silently lurched away from his chair and turned his mouth to Marcus.
 "You're the one to talk Marc!" He raised his voice.

He then calmed himself for a moment, then recollected his thoughts.
"Anyway there's no use arguing, let's just work with it."

Thirty minutes passed, they rushed through the edits then loosened up after they managed to complete it somehow.

Dex then sighed as he held a worn out face.
"Regardless It's done now let's go get some lunch." 

Seeing it was all done they sighed in relief.
"Well done, everyone." 

Marcus said as he tried to clear the air of their petty arguments.

However they can't leave without moving their teleportation devices first, it was very inconvenient to carry with their barehands due to its weight. Though Marcus knew he had nothing to worry as his friends with a bit help of technology can handle it with little effort.

They were good friends since junior high school and after they entered in college, they got seperated when the three of them took different courses. 

Dex is in electrical engineering while Raven is in software engineering. Previously he had a keen eye on software engineering due to the concept of digital matter. Before it gave him a head ache which course to take between mechanical and software, but eventually he chose mechanical engineering.

With digital matter, the world of software were able to touch reality. It was one of the most innovative inventions in the century. People were able to upload digital data such as 3-d models into the real world and touch them with their bare hands. 

It had a lot of applications but were still in its early stages and most users were software engineering students. The digital matter 3d models weren't as textured compared to its real substance it imitates. It also drains a lot of energy from the source when one tries to upload into the real world. 

It wasn't as durable as the material used by the Mechanical Engineering on their HoloMark suits. Despite its convenience it will still break if a certain level of pressure applied on it is high enough.

In the molecular world, digital matter is nothing more than nanobots working together and arranging itself to execute a certain task. Digital matter also act like a software despite existing on the real world, one can drag it, copy-paste it and many more.

To use digital matter one needs a certain hardware called the 3d Extender, it was a common device for software engineering students. Raven took one from his pocket, it was a techy esque glove, it was flexible yet metallic. He wore it on his right arm. 

Software Engineering Students have HoloMark suits called the Enhanced 3d Extender. The E3E are powerful and advanced compared to the ordinary Extender, since it can also upload complicated 3d models with more features, like animation.

With sudden whisk of his arm, a holographic screen popped up on his face, it was projected by the glove. He then clicked on each tabs showed on the screen. 

Assets->3d Shapes-> Sphere.obj

The glove projected a projection of an intangible sphere, he could drag it anywhere on the background, it didn't have any solid form yet. He dragged the sphere towards the teleportation device, and have the device go inside through it.

A tab appeared.
"Apply Shape on this Position?"

He then tapped 'yes'. The gloves released a blue mist, it drifted into the air and slowly the mist coalesced around the teleportation device. 

The mist formed into a solid, hollow, blue bubble which enshrouded the device completely. Its texture resembled that of a smooth, blue glass, it was semi-transparent and he can see the device through it.

With another repeated touch on the screen. Raven clicked copy and paste and summoned a second to the other device, now there were two of them.

The teleportation devices were now inside the hollow blue balls. Raven did another round of smooth touches, he then tapped the drag button on the screen. 
"Confirm to drag?"

After clicking yes, he now had the control of the bubbles, he swiped his arm upward, causing both of the devices to float in mid air. Like a cursor able to drag the icons wherever he wishes to put, but the Extender in this case enables him to do it in real life.

He was now able to lift the device they had without physical contact.  At first it seems like a telekinesis but it was digital matter at work.

"Now where do you want me to carry this." Raven said as he held his arms up high somewhat manipulating the floating blue spheres.

A hint of amusement were seen on Marcus' eyes, since digital matter seemed like it was powered by sorcery.

Afterwards he guided the two to the room were the presentation will be held. Right now however their tummy grumbled so they took a trip to the cafeteria. The presentation won't start before 1 PM after all and they still have time.

The cafeteria was inside a large dome, it looked like a stadium from the outside. Inside the cafeteria were stores lining up, it looked like a city market. The vast space provided infront of the stores had tables where the students usually gather. The stores were manned by robots and only few were actually managed by humans. In the cafeteria they had everything they need from coffee shops, school supplies, fast foods, teas, gadgets and a lots of things.


They chose the table in the corner as it was quiet and a comfortable spot.

"You know guys, have you ever appreciated our lives today? Hundreds of years ago people need to work in order to survive, nowadays you work because of prestige and preference." 
Marcus said.

A robot waiter handed them a tray of  bowls and plates with tight lid, since most of it were processed and not cooked in a conventional sense.

Marcus was going broke, but the idea of him starving weren't any of their worries . Since food in this era were very cheap, it was almost free. Starvation is not even a thing nowadays and the issue has been totally forgotten.

Due to the farming operations with the current technology, the world has become prosperous.

Dex seems unamused.
"Let's talk about something else, you've been talking about it since last week."

Raven chuckled as he spoke his mind.
"Even with our convenience I still find this life pretty bland, I'd rather be inside my room playing video games all day."

"Well if you want challenge, you can join the military. You can use a weaponized Holomark if you're in the army." 
Dex interrupted.

"I wonder why did the government suddenly banned the use of weapons on our Holomarks?" Marcus said as he opened the lid of his bowl.

Last year the government drained its budget on research and development on weapons for the Holomarks. Each students are given a Holomark, in which they should cultivate and develop it through research. By end of their own school year, the suits will be turned in to the school along with its data and the student's findings. The system of Holomarks exists to further develop the current technology especially in the military sector.

"A tension rose when our country and the country C fought over the claims of who owns an asteroid that floats nearby. But since it got burnt into the atmosphere, so not anymore." Dex said.

After the tension subsided, the Holomark Weapon Development Program was cancelled. Embedding weapons on the suits were now illegal, unless authorized. The weapons on the Holomarks weren't removed yet after the ban, rather they were forbidden to use it after the professors planted a special program. The school would know if one attempts to access the weapons.

Each engineering fields have their own unique Holomarks, mechanical engineering for example have a high grade steel compound armor that is worn to increase the defense and strength of the wearer. They had an ROTC subject that trained them on how to use it in battle in case they wanted to proceed in military. 

Marcus still had a vivid memory the first time he acquired his Holo-mark it was during third year as he recalled. When the suit is activated, an armor would form around ones body. It won't come into effect however if the wearer is not an enrollee of the school nor it is compatible with their ID number.

After minutes of chatting a girl approached their table. 
"Hello guys." 

After noticing her presence, they had a lively and a welcoming look. She was a biomedical engineering student, she had an ivory tint immaculate, long hair that draped over her shoulders. She had an innocent clear, bright, yellow iris as she held a pleasing smile.

"Oh Jeya, long time no see." 
Marcus said with a grin. 

Jeya was also one of their friends yet they rarely interact due to her hectic schedule and at a times she was slightly distant.
 "Come sit here." 
Raven offered the vacant seat besides him.

"I heard it will be your defense this afternoon right? So are you ready?" She said with slight ecstasy, excited on their behalf.

Dex shrugged with sigh, "well probably." 
He said with a defeated tone.

Afterwards the digital bell chimed, pointing out it was already 1PM, the time went by quite fast before they even knew it. 

Raven sighed feeling unsatisfied as he barely talked to Jeya. 

However Marcus held a serious look, because one thing is for sure, the presentation is right upon them.

In the year 2200, smartwatches, holographic screens, flying cars and Holo-Mark were the common technology of the era. Engineering Philippines University was one of the national schools that developed various powersuits called the HoloMark.

It was a normal day for the school of EPU until a faulty thesis presentation accidentally teleported the entire school into a paradise-like fantasy land.

Marcus embarks on a journey throughout the mysterious region called the lower district. A certain event has befallen upon him and he can no longer use his Holomark, rendering him useless. He ventured out as an ordinary human across the lands and on his way he uncovers the torment and the painful cries of this world. 

What seems to be a paradise turned out to be a very grim world. Where the women are hunted as sex slaves, the people are sacrificed to the Gods, abused by an authoritarian church, towns devastated by a greedy rebels and an Empire powerful enough that nothing can stand in its path.

After the retrieval of his Holomark, he swore with all of his power to erase the evil that stood within these lands.

Through out the journey the looming threats of the Empire, the church and the Gods emerges.

Can their advanced technology stand up against the magic abilities of this world?

And thus begins the story of the school of EPU getting thrusted into the medieval fantasy land.

Outside of the Flourishing Electronic repair shop, an ordinary looking middle-aged man was pointing at the A4 paper which was just pasted a moment ago.

Shi Lei put the keyboard and mouse aside, turned around, and walked towards the man.

"Yes, we do provide professional data recovery and image processing!"

In contrast, Sun Feng, who was staring at the middle-aged man, revealed a look of deliberation.

The middle-aged man introduced himself willingly, "My surname is Feng. I need your help to help me in recovering some digital images."

"If you're able to recover them, money is not a problem!"

Shi Lei smiled when he heard that.

Once the door of luck opens up, obstacles wouldn't be able to hinder him!

He had just earned himself one thousand and now, another business opportunity awaited him!

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Feng."

Shi Lei shook hands with the middle-aged man named Feng.

"Mr. Feng, as what we stated before, we provide professional services. Thus, the charges might be a bit high!"

"If it's just a simple data recovery, I advise you to go to fourth floor and find some studios which provide data recovery."

Sun Feng suddenly clapped his hands. Looking at the middle-aged man, his face smiled as he voiced out, "Chief Feng!"

"Nice to meet you!"

The middle-aged man with the surname Feng, calmly looked at Sun Feng, neither revealing a dark expression nor showing a smile.

Sun Feng self-introduced himself, "Feng Zhong, I am Xiao Sun!"

"That day, my father, Sun Chenghai, and I, both participated at the banquet you held!"

Chief Feng thought for a moment before revealing a slight smile.

"So, it's the son of the Sun family."

Sun Feng patted the shoulder of Shi Lei and introduced him, "Shitou, this is our well-known entrepreneur in Shuangqing City, the executive of Huanshi Anfang, Mr. Feng Ke."

"Chief Feng, this is my buddy. His name is Shi Lei. You can call him Xiao Shi or even Shitou is fine."

Feng Ke slightly nodded his head.

"Mr. Shi, it's nice meeting you!"

Sun Feng, who was on the side, opened his mouth, "Shitou, do you have any confidence? You must help Chief Feng!"

Shi shrugged his shoulder, "I need to look at the situation first!"

"Chief Feng, enter my shop first. Then you can talk about the digital images that you want restored."

Sun Feng attentively welcomed Feng Ke into his stop and he went to tell Xiao Liu to prepare some tea.

Feng Ke took out a pendrive and carefully handled it over to Shi Lei.

"Mr. Shi, I need to recover all the data and images from this pendrive!"

Taking into account the identity of Feng Ke, Shi Lei was somehow hesitant in his heart. If there were any pictures related to a crime or a bed scene, then that wouldn't be good!

Feng Ke had become an executive for decades. From Shi Lei's facial expression, he naturally knew what Shi Lei was worrying about.

"Mr. Shi, you don't have to worry. In the pendrive, they isn't anything that people aren't allowed to see."

"They're just pictures of my deceased dad!"

Feng Ke sighed and continued on in a sad tone, "At that time, my dad quickly passed away. So, all of his pictures are only in digital form."

"At first, I intended to transfer the photos onto my computer but when I inserted it into my computer, it couldn't be read and came out with this data error."

"Perhaps the pendrive has been infected with some kind of virus or maybe because of other reasons."

"I had gone to several data recovery studios but they were useless in this situation."

"I hope that Mr. Shi can help me recover all of the data in the pendrive!"

Sun Feng, who was beside them, added on, "Shitou, do your best!"

Shi Lei jokingly made a remark as he held the pendrive, "Feng bro, luckily you still have two barely passable computers here!"

After he finished the sentence, Shi Lei went back towards the maintenance desk. Feng Ke stood up and tagged along. His face was showing a tense expression.

Taking Feng Ke's pendrive, it was inserted into the USB port.

"Ding dong ~"

From the speaker, the sound of a USB connection echoed.

Then, a window popped out from the lower right corner.

"Unrecognised device!"

Shi Lei opened the device manager window. Looking for the pendrive option in the device management tab, he selected the action to start the device again.

But even after he did so, the computer still couldn't identify the device.

For such a situation to occur, there were basically two general possibilities.

First, the pendrive had some hardware damage. For example, being exposed to water, causing damage to internal circuits, or other reasons.

However, the probability for hardware failure was very small!

Plus the fact that within the pendrive, there existed someone's photos of their father. People would naturally take great care of it.

As a result, it should be the second reason— virus infection. The infection then made the pendrive unable to be identified and corrupted.

Shi Lei didn't use any anti-virus software which was installed on the computer.

Although in 2006, Rising Antivirus was still the mainstream choice, the capabilities of this software was only ordinary.

Plugging in his own pendrive, Shi Lei directly activated the virus analysis software within his pendrive and began to scan Feng Ke's pendrive.

After a moment, the software that was prepared by Shi Lei, immediately detected a virus.

Through the code analysis, the role of this virus is to simulate a lack of power from the USB. When the feedback was received by the computer host, it then gave the result of the device unable to being recognised by the computer.

Shi Lei manually removed the virus himself. Then he replugged Feng Ke's pendrive back into the USB port.

"Ding dong~"

This time, Feng Ke's pendrive was successfully detected.

However, when Shi Lei opened the files in the pendrive, he suddenly frowned.

In the pendrive's storage, there were a lot of messy files stored inside. Some were system files and some were just meaningless files.

Obviously, the files in the pendrive had been deleted numerous times and rewritten countless times.

Restoring the data, without a doubt, was an extremely difficult task!

Softwares like EasyRecovery and so on, they were simply useless in restoring the files.

It was no wonder that ordinary data recovery studios weren't able to complete the task.

Shi Lei let out a long sigh.

Sure enough, money wasn't that easy to obtain.

"Chief Feng, do you remember how many pictures were in the pendrive, the name of the folder containing the pictures, and general names of each picture?"

Feng Ke pondered for a while, "Mr. Shi, such information is helpful in restoring data?"

"Of course!"

Shi Lei began to explain.

To find the required files from a sea of countless deleted files, if there wasn't a hint at all, it would be very difficult!

After all, he needed to reconfirm before restoring any files. Plus, during the recovery process, it was still possible to accidentally destroy the data of files which hadn't been recovered yet.

"If you know the folder's name and the general naming of the photos, it would be easier detecting the traces of files which we are searching for from the deleted files."

"This way, the workload to recover the data would be much smaller and the success rate would be higher!"

Feng Ke finally managed to recall, "My dad's photos, there are a total of 62. They're stored in a folder named 'Father'."

"As for the general names of the photos, I'm not sure."

"Anyway, there are some random numbers."

Shi Lei then continued to ask, "Chief Feng, what equipment did you use to take these photos?"

Feng Ke frowned as he pondered. Taking out his phone, he began to dial a number.

"Hello. Xiao Ceng, that day when you took the photos of my dad, what was the brand and model of the camera that you were using?"

While holding the phone with his left hand, Feng Ke noted down the details with a pen in his right hand.

"Alright, I got it!"

Feng Ke hung up the phone and then handed over the piece of paper containing the information to Shi Lei.

Shi Lei took a glance at it, "This camera's brand, the general naming scheme of the photos are essentially based on DSC prefix plus the specific numbering composition."

"Chief Feng, wait a moment. I will first have a look at the records of the deleted files."

Shi Lei didn't download any data recovery software from Internet. Instead, he opened a programming tool and began to manually write the code.

In his past life, Shi Lei wasn't only formidable in hacking, his graphic processing and data recovery were also on par with his hacking skills.

Shi Lei's finger speed was extremely high. His accuracy in typing was also the same. It could be said that he almost never made any mistakes when pressing the keys.

With the dense continuous ringing of the keyboard, a trace of hope was raised within Feng Ke's heart.

At least Shi Lei wasn't like those ordinary data recovery studios. Just by looking at the pendrive itself, they already demanded a high fee— yet they couldn't even open the pendrive!

After more than half an hour, Shi Lei's head, not even turning, "Boss Feng, get me a bottle of mineral water!"

Sun Feng turned around and said, "Xiao Liu, go buy several bottles of mineral water."

Xiao Liu put down the tool in his hands and immediately ran downstairs.

In the Bainao building, there were no shops selling mineral water. Only outside of the building could mineral water be purchased.

An hour later, Shi Lei was still typing on the keyboard— rapidly and powerfully.

Sun Feng and Feng Ke had already sat down waiting for him. Feeling bored, they filled their time with some small chat.

As for Xiao Liu, who did all the odd jobs, he stood behind Shi Lei and watched him write the code.

Unfortunately, he didn't have any basic knowledge in the programming language. How could he understand what Shi Lei was doing?

Although Shi Lei noticed him and had a slightly good impression towards this studious young man, that didn't mean that Shi Lei would share any knowledge with him.

Under the heavens, there was no such thing as a free lunch!

If you need something, then you have to sacrifice something in return.

The clock needle silently hit 11:30. Sun Feng took a glance at Shi Lei and noticed that he was still concentrating in hitting the keyboard.

Then he looked at Feng Ke, "Chief Feng, why don't we have our meal first?"

Feng Ke slightly raised his voice, "Mr. Shi, I think you better take a break. Let's go out and have our lunch?"

Shi Lei shook his head as a sign of refusal.

"No time!"

"Brother Feng, just get take-out for me!"

"Your treat!"

Shi Lei's head didn't even turn. He was still concentrating in staring at the computer screen.

It was all thanks to his enthusiasm for technology that Shi Lei was now one of the best hackers in the world!

Sun Feng showed an expression of asking for an opinion as he looked at Feng Ke.

Feng Ke nodded his head.

"Xiao Sun, go and order some food delivery. We will eat in the store!"

Sun Feng coughed for a second, "To let Chief Feng have take-out food, how could we do that?"

Feng Ke smiled.

"I'm also an ordinary person. Why can't I have take-out food?"

At 12pm sharp, three delivery girls carrying lunch arrived at the Flourishing Electronic repair shop.

Sun Feng attentively invited Feng Ke to join them for a meal.

Feng Ke, as expected, walked towards Shi Lei and spoke with a soft tone, "Mr. Shi, eat first."

Shi Lei seemed to not hear it. His hands were still endlessly dancing on the keyboards.

Sun Feng didn't feel surprised at this cold reaction from Shi Lei, "Chief Feng, you don't have to bother Shitou. He probably won't eat until after he finishes his job."

"If you repeatedly call him again, he might even rage!"

Helplessly, Feng Ke could only return towards his table.

"Well, we will wait for him to finish first!"

The world’s top-level hacker, Shi Lei; due to him hacking the world’s top military powers during a joint exercise and attempting to steal information from them, ultimately leads him to get sold out by his own organization. This act eventually caused his own death by a missile bombardment.

God was playing a joke on him and allowed him to return back to six years ago, the autumn season of when he was still at his university. Being given another chance, plus the fact that he retained his ability as one of the best in hacking technology, Shi Lei decided to change his life! During his previous life, he was only an assassin in the dark. Although such an existence made people afraid of him, he would have to always hide within the shadows. In his new life, not only does he want to be an assassin in the dark, but he also wants to stand openly in the middle of the world stage. Creating a world-class super enterprise, he will single handy change the whole world!

"I said move away," Mu Ten was at the end of his endurance. 


Lui was trying to figure out what was this machine. 

Since Lily04 was handling with the security men, he wanted to help Mu Ten in this short span. 


"Lily, do you know what this machine is?" he asked Lily. 

 "You… can… ask meee," the machine itself spoke, Lui was speechless, and he should thank it if it could provide a way to destroy itself. 



"Co… coded static is…traaa*shh," its transformation was interrupted because it was only in alpha phase, any machine or software that was tested in alpha phase tended to have many bugs.



Bugs were fatal for machine performance that would be worked on in beta phase. 


"What do you mean, you useless hardware," Lily was infuriated on this statement, 'who was this alpha phase trash to call coded static names?'




"Shut up, you slave static," the alpha machine harrumphed. 


The machine sharp edges stopped in the middle and did not pin down Mu Ten, it started moving toward Lily then stopped and its eye sensor sockets glint. 




"Lui, can you handle this buggy machine since I am really here?" Lily spoke to Lui while giving him gesture that he could use many means since the machine has bugs for fixing. 



Bugs were easy to deal with in some cases, one can use these bugs and take benefit in such situation. 



"Who do you called buggy?" the machine seemed arrogant just like its owner.    
 

"You, who else…" Lui heard and wanted to puke, were they still machines, arrogant to this level? 




He also wanted to scold Lily, she was simply infuriating this ML. 

He threw few tools on the floor to test how this machine was controlled, Lui used a small device to check if there was some digital mechanism in the room, Mu Ten twitched his left brow because the cut on his forehead was seeping blood, "Behind the desk," he pointed toward the direction where a chair and table was placed. 




Lui ran immediately, the machine cannot walk because it was shaped and designed in the ceiling for the testing purpose. 



Nu Ten tried to stand up but the machine again slapped on his chest and threw him back on the floor. 



His chest was riddled with the numerous wounds. 

Lui accidently triggered the holographic view and it started blinking, it showed many warnings and the machine entered in the berserk mood, "I will die today," Mu Ten was sure now. 



The machine picked the water pipe and pressure hit his chest, Lui punched on the digital interface, he was frightened to see that Mu Ten was facing the extreme functions of this machine now.





The holographic mood turned completely solid and Lui could no more see Lily fighting with security guards. 



He threw away all the equipment, to think that he believed Lily. 

He was trying to hack its software. 
'Can this bulky machine be controlled with only simple bugs'? A mad dream. 


He was thinking wildly like an ancient man, picking a spear and thrusting in the heart of the monster and let it spurt blood ton of blood. 


But the problem was this, he was not facing monster, a machine instead, without heart and blood still humans were more successful to survive all the millenniums because of their wild and strong responses toward such situations.






Sometimes rationality lose and madness wins. 

He picked up the broken rod of the table and joint the reverse current device with it, he kicked with his leg and the previous holographic vision returned, he looked beyond and called out, "If you are done with the security, come and shift the Dean somewhere immediately," 






Lily came inside and directly crashed her arm length with the sharp edges of the machine, she then lifted the Dean on shoulders and ran, the machine was currently held back by Lui. 




As soon as Lily reached safe threshold, Lui madly pressed the multi current kit, the machine faced the overflow of the current and its inner mechanism and chips blasted away. 





It was not self-repair and it was still in alpha phase with many bugs, it was enough to create loopholes and take advantage of weakness. 




Well it was not good idea to take advantage of weakness but the choice was restricted, and if he thought to follow so called morals then he was really gone mad, to think he needed to show face to a machine, was not this over exaggerated? 



The machine was the main project of this building. 

"Lui, I think we should leave this building as soon as possible," Lily spoke. 



"Don't pretend that you know everything next time," Lui walked out of the building while Lily was sulking, the private conveyance was parked at the rare side. 





Lily slightly expanded her body extensions to carefully pick the Dean, she then placed him inside the van where she placed an oxygen mask on his mouth. 




Lui drove the van, he did not bring Dean to the Academy, who knows how many inner administration sly sheep were working for the enemy. 




He called the medics of the academy without anyone else's notice, they checked and advised to shift him in the hospital immediately. 




Lui was left with no choice, he called the personal security and Dean was shifted to the hospital, he also told how he reached the Dean. 



They shook their heads, they were also suspicious about this building but they could get a warrant for search and nor they could find a way to spy inner parts of the building to test their theory. 



"Keep this secret, if the Dean knew the enemy then we will take action openly," the chief of security staff patted Lui. 



He also gathered evidences against the forerunner, he was working behind their backs and probably he was the one who sent fake orders. 




The directors also got this news and they immediately reached to meet the Dean in the hospital. 


The Dean was severely wounded, he came conscious after two days ventilation. 


"Well, the patient could have been in better state if the one who gave him oxygen mask was little careful," Lui heard and looked at Lily. 




"What, I am not studying medics," Lily04 shrugged metal shoulders.

I woke up starving and in need of the toilet. I rushed to the edge of the swiftly flowing stream and did my business. I smiled at the fact that my waste was literally erased from existence. The stream was very handy for waste disposal!

I then went to the fruit trees and plucked some grapefruit for my breakfast. Then I plucked some apples and oranges and ate those too. I grinned,  realizing that having an invincible body meant a lot more eating. I like eating!

I then thought about what I wanted to upgrade next. I could also create my own world, but I wasn't ready for that yet. I wanted a complete set of deity level powers before I felt comfortable becoming essentially a god of a  world.

 There were also other, more dangerous  thoughts. Creating my own slaves to serve each and every of my whims sounded so tempting, but it wouldn't lead anywhere constructive. In addition, I had no idea if others could gain access to this pocket of reality, and if I was caught doing evil, I doubted I could survive against a more experienced deity. That is what I told myself anyways.

However, this started me thinking. Was there an original Creator? There must have been, unless rifts in time could also be created and He created Himself. I also wondered if the reason why it was so easy for me to create was His help.

I shook myself. So I should definitely continue upgrading myself. Where should I start? My mind should probably be upgraded with clarity and speed of thought, as well as psychic powers to sense what couldn't be sensed physically. Psychic defenses were also definitely necessary to prevent aggressive mental intrusions. I wanted a better organic memory, and a backup digital memory that would store memories as the sensations and thoughts experienced by my body. The digital memory should come with a time stamp, and probably have evaluation and comparison software so that I could mentally search for images and sensations.

I should add a spacial awareness and manipulation package. I would need it to find the space rift back home and reopen it. It would just require some pondering first as to the nature of space itself to internalize the concept I was going for.

Space is what prevents everything from being condensed together. If something didn't have space/volume, then it would have no definition or purpose. So I wanted an intuitive grasp of the shapes and forms of everything, as well as the ability to shift the form psychicly.

There was a couple of frailties I wished to remove as well. I wanted a powerful enough digestion that I could break down and absorb anything I ate, so that I wouldn't need to use the toilet again. I wanted to reduce the need for sleep to one hour a night. I felt like removing the need to sleep entirely would probably have some mental issues down the line, as everyone needs to sit down and reboot to get their heads straight once in a while.

So I began. I reached out, again touched nothing, and decisively and calmly screamed in horror and pain again, telling my very being as it dissolved what it was to become.  Obviously, I passed out.

Imagine digital publishing software taking corrupted paragraphs to show how professional a document you might create.

Paragraph alignment, word spacing, text alignment.

And there is 'Lorem Ipsum'; a paragraph out of context, for the wrong readership, corrupted of all meaning.

Have we really given it any thought?

Did language scholars sit down and discuss it in social circles.
Could the missing words be a secret code, and a way of passing messages amongst secret societies with secret handshakes.

Will code breakers discover hidden messages in breaking down the original Cicero text and Latin version?  Will the answer change if you consider the alignment and direct of words written in ancient Greek (a language that might transcribe leftward or rightward or a combination; depending on the age they wrote it).

I doubt it.  It doubt anything meaningful would be discovered; because the simplest answer is usually the correct one.

Lorem Ipsum exists because of corruption, reproduction, retelling, reprinting, misspelling, cut and pasting, and editing.

It is something to consider as I write today.  Will my word survive, and if they do survive; would I recognize them?

They thought that 1.5 km was the same as on the plain, 20 minutes would be enough for them. But in reality, 1.5 km in the mountains, it's completely different, they took 2 hours to get to another mountain. She bore the name on the map "Zahabun." Obviously, the Arabic name. He circled the mountain, hovering at one point, 50 meters to the north of the place where Fang was standing, then he understood upwards by 100 meters, then he sank again. Almost touching the ground and rose again. Then he turned and flew to Fang.

"Well, here they found your fort!" "Thanks to the scanner, we can say that this is not a simple fort, there is a camberlite pipe there!" Fang remarked with a smile from ear to ear.

Why did the same civilization split into two separate sides?
Had the civilization here discarded the one over there, or the other way around?
Jing Jiu walked to the window and looked up at the sky above.
In the sky were the thin clouds, resembling those on Green Mountain, amid which there were many large platforms that were intermittently visible.
The platforms were not built in the space; in fact, they were on the mantle of the earth.
Many years ago, after the rocks and ores had been transported to the factories in the space, the working platforms were left behind. Afterwards, many buildings were constructed on them for humans to reside in.
The cliff where the New Era Institute was situated was in the deep part of the mantle of the earth.
Deeper still were the desolate neighborhood and the laboratory from which Jing Jiu had escaped.
That place should be the center of the earth. It was said that the Stargate had been partitioned during the modification of the planet, providing metals for numerous battleships.
It was true that this planet had been emptied by the humans save for the mantle of the earth.
Only the female priests, the aristocrats and the officials were allowed to live on the ground full of forests and lakes.
As far as Zong Lizi was concerned, the people living on the ground and platforms were all considered as the "people above".
As far as the humans were concerned, this was the inevitable result when the resources of the planet were completely exploited.
He had read about the history of the Federation of the Milky Way, and knew that the Stargate Base relied exactly on this peculiar structure to survive the few invasions from the Sea of Dark Matter.
The ground, be it under the feet or over the head, could provide enough protection for the humans.
However, Jing Jiu didn't believe that the Federation of the Milky Way had such technical capacity; he suspected that this planet should be the remains of the distant ancient civilization.
His line of sight passed through the ground at the highest point and reached a corner of the universe, where there were a few battleships floating, with countless stars near and far emitting glows of various illuminations.
Those permanent stars were none other than the fireballs that could provide boundless fairy energy.
This world was quite backward as far as the usage of the fairy energy was concerned. Jing Jiu ascertained once again that this was a relatively low-level civilization; it was not possible that Chaotian had been discarded by this civilization.
Well, was it possible that the humans in this world were the descendants of the ascendants? But, judging from the bodily structure and other aspects of the humans in this world, this hypothesis couldn't be right.
Standing by the window and looking at the corner of the universe as gloomy as the opening of a well, Jing Jiu calculated for a long time and came up with a fuzzy idea.
Since the distant ancient civilization that had died along with the Sea of Dark Matter could revive amid the ruined stars, had it made other preparations in another world before its destruction?
The world called the Federation of the Milky Way had progressed constantly in science and materialization.

Jing Jiu came to the quiet reading room after he exchanged his bracelet for a terminal. He set up the Inherited Heaven Sword Formation to insulate himself from the outside world before he grabbed the fiberglass cable of the database again with his eyes closed.
His thin and long eyelids quivered slightly, indicating that his awareness was operating at a high speed, searching and absorbing the data incessantly.
In a very short time, he had read all the related knowledge in the network of the institute and the database of the library; in even a shorter period of time, he had prepared three plans and spent half a minute gaining total control of the database.
In the next moment, he began to break through the forbidden sites by force. It took him two minutes to successfully break through the barriers and entered the upper level networks of the Stargate Base.
It was like a small stream flowing into a large sea.
At that moment, the data as vast as sea rushed into his sea of awareness.
If the data of the library had caused many sprays in his sea of awareness, the data of the high-level networks stirred up a great many huge ocean waves.
This sort of data flood could be dangerous in some aspects, but it was also rather appealing.

The data in the interplanetary network were more massive than the sea itself; they were as vast as the universe, including all the knowledge and information of the universe.
He thought to himself with his eyes closed that he could take his time to study them later on. He set up a few fake digital marks in the upper-level network of the base and three skipping bridges for data transformation before searching for the required information and studying it after finding it.
Half an hour later, he believed that he had already made sufficient preparations and that the most formidable Cloud Ghost in the Federation of the Milky Way was not as powerful as he, and Jing Jiu began to search for the hidden network after he made a few digital marks and data skipping bridges.

The hidden network was the lowest level in the interplanetary network; it was also the most secretive and mysterious site.
It was said that the site contained the remains of the distant ancient civilization, the detailed information about the Sea of Dark Matter, the secrets of the Old Ones Fellowship, the construction drawings of the Science Academy, and even the dissertations on the weaponry at the permanent star level. It would take at least three days for the laboratory of the Stargate Base with the most powerful computer coupled with the most powerful analysis software to find the gateway of the hidden network, and the hidden network might have changed the gateway three days after it was detected that the network had been raided. And maybe the network had already shut down the gateway.
The above-mentioned procedures would likely occur in the interplanetary network.
When Jing Jiu sensed the digital symbols dropping down like snowflakes, he was taken aback for a moment. Then he realized that he had entered the hidden network.
He was a very focused person, which was an indication of the way he treated the tasks laying ahead of him rather than the way he treated the affection.
Now that he decided to learn all the knowledge related to computing and internet, there was nothing that could make him stray from his target.
The knowledge about the Cloud Ghosts in the hidden network was much more advanced and harder to understand, but he gained a great deal of pleasure from learning it, so mush so that he would feel regretful after he finished reading it and opened his eyes.
However, other interesting information awaited him, like the secrets about the distant ancient civilization.
He closed his eyes again. He sensed that the snowflake-like digital symbols were falling almost the same way as before, but he noticed a slight change on the upper right corner.
He perceived the spot quietly and ascertained that a digital symbol was indeed moving at the spot.
Though it was normal that the digital symbols moved in the network, this was somehow an interface for the data collecting channels. He found that the slight and enigmatic change was out of place.
He placed his awareness onto the moving digital symbol after making some preparations.
Pah!!!
A faint noise rang out in his mind.
The moving digital symbol discovered that it had been detected. It threw the disguise away and pursued his awareness.
Jing Jiu started to retreat without hesitation.
The snowflake-like digital symbols began to mobilize at an unimaginably fast speed, like a gust of strong wind, and formed many barriers in an effort to slow down the retreat of his awareness, yet they were all broken through by Jing Jiu's awareness.
The two bands of awareness, or in other words, the two data flows, were pursuing each other in the hidden network. In a few moments, they had both broken out of the network and returned to the interplanetary network.
The other data flow detected the fake digital marks set up by Jing Jiu earlier, and the data flow had passed the few information skipping bridges before they were cut off.
Soon after, the data flow followed his awareness to the Stargate Base.
However, the fake digital marks he set up had slowed the data flow a little bit; so Jing Jiu had enough time to cut off the three information skipping bridges.
Pah!!! Pah!!! Pah!!!
Three fracturing sounds, though they were not real in the physical sense, rang out in the upper-level network of the Stargate Base.
The data flow came before a computer on the platform of the third level in the base and lingered around for a few moments before it left silently, showing a sense of disappointment and resentment.

Jing Jiu opened his eyes and remained reticent for some time, holding the fiberglass cable in his right hand.
By the time the data flow discovered his awareness, he had already let go of the cable, so he had no need to worry that the other party would pinpoint him as the culprit.
However, the other party could still locate the New Era Institute easily, then its library and this reading room.
He had to activate the fake digital marks with his awareness and cut off the information skipping bridges if he wished to be utterly safe.
Even though the other party had located the Stargate Base, he had no need to worry about it. It was because there were a few billion humans living on this planet with several billion terminals, it was impossible for it to find him.
As Jing Jiu was on his way heading out of the library, he took out the latest recording disc from the database. After he walked out of the library, he headed toward the cliff on the other side of the grassy ground.
He squeezed his palm slightly, and the recording disc was crushed into powder, which sifted through between his fingers and landed on the green grassy ground, resembling the white borderlines for the ball games.
Jing Jiu was walking on one side, and on the other side were the students who were playing and laughing.

The year was 2031. And while it would have been not unlike any other year, what made it remarkable was the Magic Lens market release. Although to be fair, it wasn't your normal release. The blueprints, documentation, and everything else for the breakthrough device appeared out of nowhere on Reddit on September 1, 2031, instantly spreading across the internet like wildfire.
Who posted the dump? Who created the device, one that hid smartphone-esque computing power and microLED image quality in what looked like plain contact lenses? Half a century later, that remains a mystery.
All we have is a screen name: Prophet.
Growth shot through the roof for the company manufacturing Magic Lenses. Software was supplied by a variety of developers, including some industry giants.
In just one year, the Magic Lens became as ubiquitous as smartphones. Many people got rid of their smartphones, in fact.
But it was then, on September 1, 2032, one year to the day after Prophet posted the lens blueprints to Reddit, that he struck again with a new piece of software for the Magic Lens.
It was open-source, available to everyone absolutely free of charge.
We all remember how quickly the entire world downloaded it.
But when they installed it…
At first, everyone thought it was a game.
It took two or three days of people having a blast destroying monsters, using magic, and beating dungeons to realize that it actually wasn't. It was reality.
It was reality revealed by the Magic Lens.
Some governments tried to ban the lenses and their software, but Prophet had taken care of that by making everything open-source and available online. It would have been easier to shut down the internet than to keep humanity from their magic.
That's when the research began.
Magic had always been around, it turned out. The problem was that with each generation, fewer and fewer humans were capable of seeing, feeling, and sensing it.
As a result, the magic that had once been an inherent part of everyday life was confined to legends and fairy tales. The mortal world and the magic world co-existed as two sides of the same coin, never interacting with each other. Humans, with very rare exceptions, were unable to spot the magic creatures. The latter kept their distance.
To be fair, the exceptions on the magic side were far more common. That explained why about ten million people around the world went missing every year, never to be heard from again.
The magic creatures, vampires and all the rest, needed food. Vampires require an absurd amount of blood just to stay alive, while werewolves… Well, they're in a category all to themselves.
The Magic Lens restored the gift of magic to humanity. Research showed that its ability to transform mysterious magic into ordinary numbers and figures was based on quantum uncertainty, hyperposition, string theory, ray gravity, and the distortion of time-space by speed, or the gravitational difference between two points. There's more, but the list gets even more incomprehensible from there.
In 2032, regardless, magic once again became a normal part of life on Earth again.
Humans suddenly discovered that the Ural, Himalayan, and Andean Mountains are inhabited by dwarves, the forests of Canada and Siberia by elves. Fish swim side by side with mermaids, nagas, kappas, and other magic creatures. And it isn't just birds soaring through the skies; there are also dragons, phoenixes, griffins, and even creatures whose names had long since disappeared from legends and fairy tales.
Ogres. Trolls. Wargs. Goblins. Orcs. Fairies. Giants. Cyclopes. Medusas. Centaurs. Cyclopes…did I mention them already? Regular old humans were suddenly in contact with all of them.
Remember Tony Stark's speech in one of those superhero movies? (How quaint they look today.) You know, the guy in the iron suit who started by fighting normal people before moving on to superhumans, aliens, and even gods? That trajectory, it turns out, extends much further than previously thought.
But magic advanced by leaps and bounds after 2032. Humans worked on it. Studied it. Believed in it. (At least, if the clerics and other zealots of the Word are right about everything on Earth being moved by Faith.)
In other words, magic didn't become just another part of life on New Earth. It worked its way deeply into every aspect of life, developing and transforming as it went. The age of digital technology was followed by the age of magic and technology integration.
They even found Atlantis.
Sure, it wasn't that hard. For thousands of years, the state of Atlantis had been thriving on a continent hidden from the mortal world under the water, with just its tip protruding above the waves for everyone as New Zealand.
It also turned out that the old non-magical technology we used to use had failed to grasp Earth's full size. The planet is almost half again as large as people used to think.
Scientists went back to the drawing board, poring over what they thought they knew to combine physical laws with the laws of magic and sorcery.
Just to take one example, no one yet knows why the larger Earth discovery didn't change the number of days in the year, the number of hours in the solar day, or even gravitational acceleration.
Fifty years later, in 2081, our stack of unsolved riddles still dwarfs the ones we've figured out the answers to.
But humans went on living.
They learned magic at schools of witchcraft and wizardry. They visited the lands of sapient magic creatures. They hunted non-sapient magic creatures. They explored dungeons. They loved. They betrayed. They gave birth. They died.
They fought wars, too.
Back in 2040, the First Magic War changed the global map and all but destroyed the planet. More on that later.

Some are still adamantly set against the usage of Magic Lenses, rejecting all forms of magic. But they're few and capable of nothing more than scattered terrorist attacks.
We've already gone through two generations—and there's a third maturing—for whom magic is just as commonplace as the internet once was. (Of course, the internet is still around.)
Just don't be surprised if you come across an elf wearing sneakers and a baseball cap, drinking a Starbucks, and tapping away at a Mac laptop. Of course, you're still unlikely to come across one like that, be it in New York, Tokyo, London, or Moscow, unless you can get your hands on a pass for the city sector occupied by the magic races. That's your best shot.
The only place where you're sure to bump into someone from one of the magic races is Myers City, the capital of Atlantis deep in the Pacific Ocean. The birthplace of magic.
But how did magic come to be?
Who was the Prophet?
Why was the Magic Lens created?
Alex Doom, also known as Alexander Dumsky, had no idea.
And who is Alex Doom?
Good question.

Alexander Dumsky, or Alex Doom, was a dark wizard. At the age of seventeen, he was convicted of a litany of crimes so long that even the seasoned investigators, judges, and prosecutors involved in the case could only shudder.
Not a single attorney could be found to defend him in court.
But four years later, Alex was released from prison to become the Professor of Dark Magic. They'd thrown him into the deepest hole they could find, one built for the sole purpose of holding wizards, and then they let him back out again...
Why him? Why then?
Oh, you're not surprised to hear talk of wizardry? Well, then you probably know that the Magic Lens, which was invented in 2032, let humans see and use magic again.
