It's funny how everything was put on that situation. I have no idea what is going on and what will be going to happen next at that moment. I was empty-headed about what will happen now or even what will I do now.

I ran straight to my room, hurriedly open the door, and slammed it while closing. I leaned my back on the door and slowly opened my closed right hand letting my bag falling from my palm, passing to my index finger down to the floor. My body follows that makes me sit down in bended knees. My hands that were spread out wrapped up my both knees together and slowly put it on top. I laid my forehead on my overlapping hands and burst into tears. My black knee socks got wet because of my tears, as well as my white long-sleeved uniform and the sleeves of its black coat.

I can feel the vibration of my phone inside my bag. I picked it up and I saw that Kier is calling. I wipe off my tears using my both hands alternatively from side to side before answering. I swipe the green phone icon to the right side to answer his call.
"Hello," I said first with a clogged nose then touches my eye bags with gentle.
"Happy monthsary, Babe!" he greeted me in an energetic and lovely voice.
"Happy monthsary!" is my response. My voice seems so cold and crappy which he noticed.
"What happened? Are you crying? Why?" his consecutive questions. I'm trying to avoid sniffing so that he will not notice, but it's too late when my voice was cracked.
"Uhmm..." I cleared my throat and trying to have a normal voice. then continue.
"It was nothing. I just-" he cut it and throw me a question again. Maybe he notices my husky voice.
"What happened, huh?" his voice is enough for me to be comforted at the moment. It feels like his voice is enough to make me feel better and pushes me to rant on him.
"I am just here. I will always listen whatever is that." what he said again makes me teary and suddenly the tears started to come out from both sides of the eyes. I can't control it anymore.

I started to burst into tears in silence while he keeps on asking me what is wrong but I can't answer him because I was crying all along. After a while, I was at ease and slowly stopped crying. But, I can't still explain to him what is going on with me because I am not sure if that was just a show by Caroline or either way. I planned to look for the reasons behind so that Allie and Kim will not misunderstand the situation. And, if ever the did, I have to find ways to make it clear but I am still hopeless. I'm still guilty because I slapped her out of my control.
"Feel better yet?" he asked again. I just created a soft sound which means yes but honestly, I said it while shaking my head.
"You can sleep if you want, I will sing for you. In that way, you will lessen the bad feelings inside," he said again with his soft voice that is soothing to my ears.
"Thank you, babe!" is my response. I am thankful, grateful that somehow, there is still someone who can ease the pain and will always willing to comfort me without asking him to do so.
"Just close your eyes, you don't need to answer me. Just listen to my voice 'til you fall asleep." a bit of tear circling on my both eyes sideways. I plugged my earphones in and slowly closes my eyes while lying on my bed sideways.
He started to strum the guitar's string in a low pitch chord follows by the consecutive strumming that creates the soothing sounds. He started to make a sound by humming using his natural voice.

He stopped strumming for seconds and then started to sing the first song 'Baby by Justin Bieber'.
[Baby, baby, baby, ohhhh~] after his own first line, he started to strum again.
[Ohhh woaahhh ohhh woaahhh ohhh woaahhh] singing from a low pitch then slightly to a high pitch.
[You know I love you, you know I care~] I was a little bit surprised when he changes some of the lyrics but I don't know why his voice seems sad. I ignored it, I  just focus on listening and feel the beautiful voice of him while strumming the chords that perfectly fit the guitar's acoustic sounds.
[Just shout whenever just think I'm there.
You are my love, you are my heart, and we will never be apart.] I can't deny the fact that the message of the song is for me, and only for me. He continues singing the chorus part of the song until it ended in a flawless strum.

For the second song, he started it with humming.
[Wooaahh wooaahh wooaahh ohhh~] a signal to start strumming again. The second song was entitled 'More Than Words by Extreme'.
[Saying 'I love you' is not the words I want to hear from you.
It's not that I want you. Not to say, but if you only knew how easy.
It would be to show me how you feel.] he started the song on its original lyrics which somehow sounds like the original one is the one who is singing. He continues singing.

More than words~ is all I ever needed you to show.] the message makes me think of our situation. Makes me realize and makes me concern about his feelings towards me.

For the third song, it was composed by the band, Coldplay, the 'The Scientist'.
"Babe?" before he starts again, he calls me. Though I am fully awake at the moment, I still choose not to answer him.
"I will continue singing then," he said and began to play the guitar.

No one ever said it would be this hard.] he sang the lyrics originally came from its own composers but, with his warm and soft voice it makes more lovely like a comfort for me. The message of the song really fits the situation I have. The lightness of his voice minus a bit of sadness in me.

As soon as he ended the song 'The Scientist', he began to sing the fourth song which is 'Here With You' sung by the band, 3 Doors Down.
[But all the miles had separate~]

And tonight, it's only you and me~] after hearing this song, something popped up in mind. Yes, he's always there even though he's in afar, even though he's not with me. Kier never failed to care for me. He never failed to show me his efforts, how he always keeps his words.

It gets hard but it won't take... away... my love.] these lyrics follow using his baritone voice type.

"Still awake, babe?" he asked me for the second time, I did not answer him again and stay in silence. I slowly turn my body sideways, puts my both hand together, and lie my head on it as my pillow. I know he is aware of me being awake at the moment. He now again continues playing the guitar and started to sing again.

'Until You' is the title of the fifth song, composed by Shayne Ward. After the 10-second intro, his mouth started to open, and throw the lyrics.
[Baby, life was good to me but you just made it better~] it feels like the brightness of the beat has a hidden drama meaning.
[I love the way you stand by me through any kind of weather.

Baby, tell me I will do whatever.] he knows how I feel, that's why he chooses the songs where I can relate to the message. Maybe the song that he wanted me to hear.

Baby, nobody, nobody until you~] I think that song will suit him, from me. He added some of the lyrics and repeat these lyrics until he ended the song and start again for another one.

'Shape of My Heart by Backstreet Boys' the 6th song on his list.
After almost 28 seconds of striking different chords of strings from the lower pitch to the higher one, he started the song lyrics until it reaches the chorus.
[Lookin' back on the things I've done.
I was tryin' to be someone, I played my part.
Kept you in the dark, now let me show you the shape of my heart.] 3 lines of the song were skipped, the music continues.
[Touch me now don't bother, if every second it makes me weaker.
You can save me from the man I've become.] another message of the song letting me know how he is trying to relay what he wanted to say through this.

For the 7th song, he played 'My Love' of the band Westlife, one of the well-known bands all over the world.
[I try to read, I go to school, I'm laughing with my friends.
But I can't stop to keep myself from thinking.] the bridge of the song has come.
[I wonder why, I wonder how, I wonder where they are.
The days we had, the songs we sang together.

Reaching for the love that seems so far~] he plucked the string a bit faster and continues.

The 8th song he played started in a slow one with a lower pitch that matches his whole voice.

You know in the end, I'll always be there.] a song has stopped for seconds and he started singing again.

Take a look all around, I'll be there.] the tone suddenly goes up but softly and warmly.
[I'm sorry, but I'm just thinking of the right words to say.
I know they don't sound the way I planned them to be.

The following verses make me feel sleepy but choose to listen to him singing. The song continues.

The last but not the least, he sang 'The Reason by Hoobastank' as his ending song. He sang it completely. In the beginning, he plucked his guitar's hard to make a sturdy sound and suddenly it turns into a soft one.
[I'm not a perfect person, there are many things I wish I didn't do.
But I continue learning, I never meant to do those things to you.
And so, I have to say before I go.

The 37-minute songs playlist was filled with emotions, specifically sad feelings. Each word of the song's message was like a thorn of roses that were impaled on my chest without my awareness. And I guess, I am aware now. All of that music he plays were his feelings and thoughts. He uses the song to express his feelings and I felt bad for not appreciating him sooner. I never realized how sad he is. I never knew how he badly wanted to tell me that he's always there for me.
Kier made me feel special even from the very start, until now, and I am sure that he will always. I have my assurance that there's someone who can make me feel better at times like this. I was comforted, felt better as the song ended.
"Good night, babe! Sleep well and have a good dream. You'll always be in my dreams." I heard his warm voice before he hangs up the call. What he said makes me smile a bit. I close my eyes again and wait for myself to fall asleep.

I devoured two plates of pasta without any sigh of slowing down. Hayden looked at me astonished at the speed of my eating. What? I have a big appetite and there is nothing wrong about that.
"What are you looking at, never seen a girl eat before?"  I questioned his piercing gaze.
"Nope, I have never seen a girl eat like a pig before" He emphasized on the word 'pig'.
"I don't eat like a pig" I  emphasized on each and every word of my sentence.

"Mhm" I also leaned forward, gathering all the confidence I had. He reached forward, wiping a bit of sauce that I had on my left side of the mouth and licked it of his finger. An unfamiliar feeling started to gather at the pit of my stomach. Hayden sat back on his stool still smirking at my face, that was flushed red due to the thought that just occurred in my mind.
"You can go to bed I won't eat you" He chuckled and I stuck my tongue out at him. I got up and  walked towards the stairs when I stopped at the noise of glass smashing. I turned around but was thrown down on the floor with a great force. I looked up to see four Dosorllas entering the pent house through the broken window as Hayden protected me from them. He was trying to dodge the attacks and keeping me safe at the same time. I looked around trying to find a thing that could do something as I was looking here and there I slipped. I caught a handle of a cabinet to stop when it opened and a bunch of dagger fell out. I grabbed one and threw it at the one that was hovering above Hayden. It instantly melted. I grabbed a couple more and threw them at the other three and they instantly melted too. Hayden was still on the floor, panting due to the rush. I held out a hand but instead of getting up, he pulled me down along with him. I landed on him, processing what was happening. An arrow flew above my head and hit the wall. We stayed still for a couple of minutes before getting up.
"What the hell was that?" I looked at the arrow in pure horror as a green liquid dripped from it. Hayden didn't reply. I looked at him. He was smirking at me.
"What?"  I looked at him confused. His smirk deepened before he placed his hand at my back. I realized that I was straddling him. I reddened getting up but he pulled me back. I glared at him and he glared at me back. We stayed like there for five minutes until I broke the staring match and got up. This time he didn't pull me, thank God. We stood up and Hayden examined the arrow and the liquid. He frowned, calling someone on his phone.
"What's the problem" I asked him.
"The arrow, it was sent by Amy" He ran a hand through his hair, looking frustrated to death.
"Pack up, we are going somewhere else to stay" He said before leaving to go to his room. So, Amy was trying to kill me. I scoffed and went upstairs to pack some stuff. Man, he sure knew what a girl needed and what she didn't. I came downstairs to see him ready. He took my hand and we left the building surrounded by guards. We crossed NYC streets and made our way towards a farmhouse.
The farmhouse was under heavy security. Guard surrounded us with all the technical ammunition I had only seen, not used. We lead our way towards a hut. We were standing outside as Hayden opened the lock. I heard a rustle in the bushes that covered the hut like a fence. I looked to see my mother waving at me.
"MOM" I screamed running towards her. Hayden right behind me. I rushed and hugged her.
" Congratulations you both. I am so happy for you. I know that you will keep my daughter safe, Hayden. Look after her. As for you dad, he and I are okay. We will come when the time comes." And with that she vanished just as I lunged to catch her.
"Mom" I whispered tears spilling out of my eyes as I clutched Hayden's arm. He soothed my back, he himself relived that his father was okay.
" It's okay " He whispered patting me. He carried me bridal style back in the hut and played some music to soothe me. I smiled as I lisped to the scientist by Coldplay while Hayden strummed the guitar.

I didn't knew what had happened because I fell asleep the moment the song ended. I woke up in the middle of the night when I heard someone sobbing. I looked behind me to see it was Hayden.
"Dad, don't leave me. please, please. stay for me" He was having a recollection of his past.
"Hayden, wake up it is okay, he is okay" I tried waking him up and he awoke with a start.
" Hey, it's okay" He looked around and upon seeing me, hugged me immediately. My heart melted as he held me tightly. I rubbed his back, comforting him with all the words I could find. After running out of words I started humming to him. He dried up his tears, and sat back.
"Sorry, just happens" He apologized. I just smiled at him, knowing he didn't need words, just someone who could be with someone. I gave him a side hug. 
"They will be alright, wont they?" He asked me as if reassuring.
"Yup, they are two strong man and woman siblings. Even Amy cant beat them, however strong her sources are" I spoke as if I believed it. If my mother could escape from that place, tells that she could do it even before but she was waiting for a moment to arrive. As if she wanted to see me before running away. Moreover, she trusted Hayden and I knew he would never let me down no matter what the cost. I looked over to Hayden who was now asleep. I also drifted off, staring at his face. 
I woke up at the crack of dawn when I felt an intense staring at my face. I opened my eyes to see Hayden. He was strumming his guitar, staring at me and taking sips of his coffee in between. I cocked my eyebrows at him but he just kept looking. After I had given up on the match, he stood up and walked towards the small kitchen. I looked around to see a big glass window. A kitten was playing in a puddle. It was drizzling. I gasped, getting up and running outside the door. The moment I stepped outside, the drizzling turned into a shower of rain. I ran and started playing in the rain, when I heard Hayden calling for me. 
"Come on, enjoy the rain" I shouted at him as the rain picked up its speed. I couldn't hear him so I moved closer to the shelter.
"Come back inside, you are going to get sick" He scolded me like a dad.
"Oh, stop being such a party pooper" And I pulled him into the rain, drenching him along with me. I twirled around in the rain. Hayden glared at me then pulling me into a hug. I laughed out loud as we enjoyed jumping in the puddles. I challenged him to catch me, which he did quite easily. He caught me from behind and then changed my position. I faced him and I literally forgot to breath. He looked like a Greek god who had just descended from the sky. His features sharp, his jawline hard as he stared intensely in my eyes. He came forward, standing nose to nose. I Looked into his eyes and couldn't stop as electricity surged through me. I kissed him with all the passion and he returned it with all he had. Our bodies joined together, heating up each other touch. At that moment, I knew I had gotten all I had ever wanted in my life.

I started wolfing down breakfast not waiting for him, for I was really hungry. He came out just wearing pants. I choked on my breakfast. He patted my back, smirking. 

"Wear a shirt" I pushed him and he snickered at my distress, but he wore the shirt I threw at him. I hid my face in a cushion, trying to normalize my expression. He snatched the pillow from me and I scowled at him. 

"What time is it?" I asked him, looking around for a clock. 

"10 o'clock, pack your bags. We will leave in ten minutes'' He had finished his breakfast and was washing the plates. I picked up my lazy butt from the sofa, packing up the stuff and helping him. It was nearly 11:15 when we arrived at the penthouse. The window was restored. Amy was also there and as she saw us, she came flying to us. 

"Oh my god, are you okay? oh my poor boy" She took Hayden's hand in hers which he retrieved harshly, grabbing my hand and entering the living room to see that everything was back in its place like it was untouched. Hayden was talking to a guard. My phone dinged. I opened it to see a text from Katie. 

'Meet us at the time square' 

"Ummm, Hayden I need to meet my friends at Times Square" I hesitated. 

"Okay, lets go" He picked up his car keys. 

"You don't have to. I'll catch a cab" I was feeling bad for him, for he was driving the car for a while now. 

"No, from now on you are my responsibility. Call me without any hesitation. If I am not available, which I can assure won't happen, my guard Carl will be there for you. Don't go with anyone else. Don't trust anyone so easily" He advised me as we entered the car. I nodded my head as we made our way towards the times square. I called Katie to know the exact location. They were standing near the statue of Duffy Square. I spotted them just as we approached it. 

"I will be fine. It is the Xander's I am with" I reassured him as he seemed reluctant. He nodded advising me to look after myself. I poked my tongue at him.

Its currently Saturday, im busy getting ready for my date with Michael, Rosalie, Alice and Esme are getting me ready for my date.
Michael is currently sitting downstairs waiting on me with my brothers.
Michael ended up staying here even after he got better, Carlise wanted to make sure he's 100% fine before letting go, to be honest it was actually because I begged Carlise to let him stay, I had to make sure there wasn't any other side-effects, not that Michael wasn't more than happy to stay, we spent practically every second of every day with each other getting closer, I can say with 100% surety that I love Michael Hale, he's everything to me if he were to die I don't think I'd go on living that would just be cruelty, I'd be living my own personal hell, thats why I've decided to change him.
Actually our family talked about it last night, my family all seemed to have taken a liking to Michael since he's been here, he's especially close with Rosalie surprisingly, but they are family so it makes sense that he'll feel close to her, we had a family vote and everyone agreed to change him.
The next step would be telling him, but I'm too scared to tell him, so I've decided to wait a little bit more hopefully he won't hate me, I can't afford for him to hate me, but I will tell me I just need a few weeks a month at most.
While I'm being dolled up by my mother and sisters, we're all currently listening in on the boys conversation.
"So why Edythe?" I can hear Emmett ask Michael.

I let out a small growl.
Im going to kick he's ass later.
"Yes she is a little rough, but so what, I prefer her that way it'd be no fun if she was meek and timid." I can here the honesty in Michaels voice as he says that.
I can't help but let a smile grace my face very happy with what Michael said.
"Isnt that adorable Edy?" Alice asks while doing my hair.
"Seems my little nephew is quite taken with you Edythe." Rose comments.
"And I with him Rose." I say with the biggest smile on my face.
"Yea he's got a point Edward." Emmett agrees.
"I think Rose looks super hot when she's working on her car." Emmett says.
Rose rolls her eyes.
"Alright all done, we're ready to head on downstairs." Alice says as she finishes my hair.

Michael pov.
I'm currently downstairs with Edythes brothers, waiting on Edythe to finish getting done.
Im wearing a long brown coat, with a shirt and waistcoat underneath, im wearing grey pants and black dress shoes, this clothes aren't mine Edward was kind enough to borrow me some clothes.
I actually get along really well with the Cullens, I can't understand why everyone tends to avoid them.
"So Michael you plan on getting lucky tonight." Emmett asks with a smirk.
I choke on my spit and cough violently.
"Dude thats my sister!" Edward growls at Emmett.
"Yea come on Emmett not everyone's like you and Rose, I just plan on enjoying Edythes company." I say calmly, but I can feel my face heating up.
"Dude you're blushing." Jasper suddenly says with a smirk.
"Wait are you a virgin Michael?" Emmett asks jokingly.
"So what if I'm a virgin!" I say defensively.
"No ways how haven't you slept with anyone, so many girls throw themselves at you." Emmett asks shocked.
"Its because I don't want to sleep with just anyone, and no one has ever caught my attention before, Edythes actually the first girl I've ever gone out with." I admit shyly.
All three of the boys break out laughing.
"You telling me, you haven't kissed a girl even." Jasper asks while laughing.
"Yes ok I haven't." I say regretting I told them.
"Dude even Edwards kissed someone before, I thought he was the virgin king, but it seems like you'll be taking that crown." Emmett says still laughing.
"Fuck you Emmett." Me and Edward say at the same time.
Me and Edward both look at each other and break out in laughter.
Suddenly we all here footsteps coming down the stairs, I get up and turn around assuming the girls are coming down.
I look to the top of the stairs and what I see completely stuns me.
Its Edythe, she's wearing a white fur coat, with black high heels, her beautiful bronze hair is down and she's wearing a white fur hat, her face has very light make-up on and she's wearing red lipstick, she looks like the incarnation of the word perfect I haven't seen anything or anyone more beautiful in my life nothing holds a candle to her right now.
I just keep staring as she makes her way down, my heart feels like its about to jump straight out of my chest.
Edythe finally descends like she came straight from heaven its self.
She looks at me and gives me a small beautiful smile.
I feel someone poking my side.
"Hey Michael you're drooling." I hear Emmett say teasingly.
That wakes me up from my stupor, I quickly wipe my mouth to check if im actually drooling, but its clean.
Suddenly all of them start laughing.
I glare at Emmett, but quickly turn my attention to Edythe.
"Heyy.. You look uhh amazing." I say with a smile and grab her gloved hand, placing a quick kiss on it.
Edythe smiles at my actions.
"Thank you Michael and i have to say you look equally amazing." She says.
"Thank you." I say with a smile.
"Shall we." She says pointing to the door.
"Lets go." I say with a smile back at her.
"Thank you for everything Carlise, Esme." I say with a smile towards her parents, they're both amazing people and ive grown quite found of both of them even though its only been a few days.
"You're welcome Michael." Carlise says with a kind smile.

Edythe wraps her arm around my right arm and we start walking outside.
"Hey I hope you have protection Michael." I hear that asshole Emmett say as we walk outside.
I ignore him and keep walking, but Edythe throws him a pretty terrifying glare that would scare any demon even Satan himself.
"Ignore him Michael, he unfortunately doesn't have a brain." Edythe says.
"Its fine, thats just how Emmett is I wouldn't expect anything less." I say with a smile.
"I suppose you're right." Edythe says.
We walk to Edwards car, Edythe is actually driving since I didn't manage to buy a car yet.
So we make our way to the blue bell making small talk along the way.
We reach the blue bell and walk inside hand in hand our fingers intertwined.
I just love being near her and touching her, it just feels right, like I'm complete when we're together.
I can feel everyone staring at us, some with envy others with shock, especially Anna and Heather, they both look kind of sad aswell, hmmm I wonder why.
Anyway Anna walks up to us.
"Hi Michael." She greets me with a forced smile.
Hmmm weird.
"Anna, good evening." I say with a smile.
"Would you like your usual booth?" Anna asks.
"Yes that would be great Anna." I say smiling still.
"Alright follow me." Anna says and grabs two menus and leads us to the booth closest to the stage in the right side.
Edythe sits on the right and I sit opposite her.
She takes off her gloves and coat, she's wearing a beautiful red dress underneath.
"Wow." I accidently say.
Edythe smiles, but the mood is broken by Anna who interupts.
"Alright what can I get you Michael." Anna asks, but it seems like she's ignoring Edythe.
"Edythe what would you like?" I ask Edythe ignoring Anna.
Edythe let's out a small laugh.
"I'll just have the pasta and a coke." She answers.
"You got that Anna?" I ask Anna who's face looks annoyed.
But when I talk to her it dissapears.
"Yes Michael, I have it, now what would you like?" Anna asks.
"I'll just have a coke." I tell her, since I'm not actually hungry, even though I've only eaten once today.
"Sorry Anna, could you add  burger no garnish to my order." Edythe asks Anna.
"Alright." Anna says disinterested.
Weird does she also like her burgers no garnish.
"I'll be back with your order soon." Anna says and walks away.
"You also like your burgers no garnish?" I ask her curious.
"No I ordered that for you, you need to eat." Edythe says sternly.
"But." I start but Edythe interrupts.
"No buts, you'll eat the burger." Edythe orders.
"You're lucky you're cute." I say annoyed.
Edythe smiles at my compliment and grabs my hand thats on the table.
Her hand is always cold, but I don't really mind that actually.
We stare into each others eyes for what seems like ages before Edythe speaks, breaking us from our stupor.
"So do you plan to sing tonight?" She asks me excitement lacing her voice.
"Yes I do, you actually inspired the songs I plan to sing tonight." I say with a smile.
"Really?" She asks me surprised.
"Yes, I hope you'll like it." I say with a smile.
"If they're anything like last time, I'll definitely like it." She says with a smile.
"Really you liked the songs?" I ask curious.
"Yes they were beautiful." She says giving me that beautiful smile.
"I'll tell you a secret." I say to her.
"What?" She asks curious.
"I wasn't planning on singing those last two songs, but when I saw you everything changed, I sang those songs for you." I say with a charming smirk.
Edythes face widens in shock, but she quickly regains her composure.
"So that's why you were staring at me." She says with a sweet smile.
"Yep, it was hard for me to look away from you, I desperately wanted to meet you after, but i suddenly suffered from one of my attacks." I say in a sad tone.
Edythes face suddenly turns into one of sadness and hurt.
"I still can't believe you have to suffer like that." Edythe says sadly.
"Yes its hell, but that night I kept on thinking of you and the pain seemed somewhat bare able." I say with a small smile.
A beautiful smile spreads across Edythes face.
Suddenly we're interrupted by Anna bringing the food.
We eat while still getting to know more about each other.
Eventually we finish and Anna collects our food.

"Alright, I'm going on stage, i hope you enjoy." I say and grab Edythes hand, placing a kiss on her knuckles.
"Good luck." She says smiling.
I do as i normally do, go to Karen's office and grab my guitar and stool while Karen introduces me.
"I walk onto stage to the warm applause of the people.
I put my stool down in front if the mic and sit down.

I look to Edythe who looks like she's also about to start crying.

I lay my guitar in the seat across Edythe and sit next to her.
"Are you ok?" I ask panicky as she still looks sad.
"Yes, yes, im fine that last song was just really beautiful." Edythe says a sad smile gracing her face.
"Were those songs really inspired by me?" Edythe asks looking up at me questioningly.
I stare right back at her my eyes glued to her beautiful face.
"Yes, to be honest I've already fallen for you, I can't lie, I know its quick but, I love you Edythe Cullen." I answer her honestly.
I have nothing to lose may as well be honest.
Edythe suddenly looks at me with a look full of passion and love.
This surprises me, surely she hasn't fallen for me aswell.
"And I love you aswell Michael Hale." Edythe says to me with love in her eyes.
My heart suddenly starts racing at the speed of light.
We both start leaning forward until our lips meet and it suddenly feels like fireworks have been set off and a spark of electricity jolts my entire body, I can't image anything feeling any better than this.
Our kiss lasts for a few seconds before me and Edythe break apart, I wrap my arm around Edythes shoulder and pull her closer to me, she snuggles into my chest.
"I don't think I've ever been this happy." I say to Edythe.
"I agree, this is probably the happiest moment of my existence." Edythe says contently.
We spend the rest of the night in each others arms and eventually Edythe drops me at home, she wanted me to come over to their house again, but I told her i need to go home, but I'll see her tomorrow most definitely.

Edythe Pov.
I wish this night didn't have to end, I think to myself as I watch Michael walk into he's house.
Tonight was absolutely amazing, the songs Michael sang were so beautiful, I could feel he's  emotions as he sang, he also told me he loves me and I did the same, we kissed, it was amazing probably the greatest feeling in the world would be kissing him, there's only one thing I can image that would feel better, I think to myself, imaging what sleeping with him would feel like.
I make my way home quickly and walk inside to the sight of my entire family sitting in the lounging area together.
"So Edythe how was it?" Alice asks curious.
"Don't pretend like you guys weren't actually there." I say glaring at them.
Yes they were there hiding in another booth.
"Come on it was really cute when you guys were making out." Emmett says teasingly.
"Yea sis you seemed really into it." Edward also teases me.
I glare at them both.
"Alright we're having a girls talk, come Edy, Rose let's go." Alice commands.
Oh crap seems tonight is going to be a long night, I think to myself annoyed.
Me and Rose follow Alice as she makes her way upstairs.
 









Michael was reborn in Denali Alaska, he has a good life, apart from suffering from an unknown disease thats been plaguing him he's whole life, but Michael does he's best not to let it get to him, in fact little does he know things will get much better for him when a new family arrives.



My mom was going to throw a pool party for Jace, as a prayer for his safe trip and his birthday. It will be his birthday in a couple of hours. Jace only had his grandfather, his mother died in childbirth and his father… I sighed. His father is the source of my problem right now, Jace is always chasing the ghost of his shadow.
Everyone in my family loves Jace like he was the other son of my mother and I couldn't be more grateful about that. It gave me the permission I need to have spend the whole day with him just busy laughing and preparing for the party, with no time to acknowledge my fear and worry. Just having fun like two little kids, without any care in the world. 
It was going to be held at night, so not exactly a pool party when you couldn't swim in the pool. I tried to tell my mother that but she dismissed my awesome idea, I guess she knew if it's held by day we will all just be busy goofing around in the pool and not entertaining and making nice with the guests. so I just called it a dinner party at the side of the pool. 
It was Sunday, even though we had school tomorrow, my mom insisted we held the party because it was a ceremony from my family to wish him a safe duty in the army. My family loves him so much that sometimes I think he was their beloved child and not me. 
I looked at Jace across the room, he was joking with my cousins and uncles. Looking the perfect image of the social butterfly, I didn't envy him, no, I was awed by him.
He was so flawless, perfect. Everything I wasn't.
Jace eyes met mine from across the room, he smiled and waved, my other cousins noticed me and smiled as well, waving at me to join them.
I smiled back and shook my head, “I need to get changed first.” They were all in their dress shirts and dress while I was still in my Jeans and T-shirt.
Jace nodded and shooed me to get change fast with an eager smile on his lips. I rolled my eyes and climbed the stairs two at a time. My mom had gave me a dress for this occasion, saying I didn't own any dress to match the theme so she bought it for me. 
The dress was a pale pink color, making my pale skin appear as beautiful, a fact that I welcomed today. I didn't want to pale beside Jace and his glory. Someday, I kept wishing, to be able to stand by him with my head held high.
I curled my hair up in an elegant up do that I learnt on youtube and wore some light make up, a light eyeshadow, lip gloss, eyeliner and blush. I worked hard to always improve and to be able to match Jace, appearance is just another field I need to work on.
When I was finished I grudgingly trudged down the stairs, balancing on my a little too-high-to-walk-heels. My family clapped and hooted when they caught sight of me grumbling inelegantly on the stairs. I looked at them and scanned their faces for Jace.
Looking into his eyes, I knew what my family were seeing, I was the beautiful lady in a white dress. Not the spoiled and reckless brat they all knew me as. His eyes looked luminous in the dim light of the pool, blue eyes rivaling the water itself.
Did he plan to burn me with that look? 
I smiled sheepishly at him and shrugged. He winked scandalously and tipped his drink back, as if saying. ‘Welcome to the party.'
I skipped down the stairs towards him and almost launched myself to his arm but caught myself quickly, remembering where we were. Jace grinned at me like knew what I was going to do. 
“The princess of the party is finally here.” He cooed, he made me do a spin in front of him.
I giggled, feeling like a nine year old again with her first birthday party, he twirled me around too when I was nine because I liked the sparkling pink dress with a princess tiara. Back then everything feel so light and today, I twirled like I was nine years old again without worry in my heart.
His lips twitched and his eyes shine with adoration as I continued to spin and laughed around the room. We earned glances from all my family but I was having too much fun to care about them.
When we finally stopped twirling and laughing we were at the pool, not realizing how we got there in our twirling haze, we rolled on the grass laughing.
But was cut short when my mom yelled, “No ruining your dress, Ashley!” She scolded from the dining room.
I rolled my eyes and stood up, grumbling. My mom had a point though, I worked hard on my appearance today, hoping I can be equal to him at least for a day. I dusted my dress from the grass that was clinging on my dress. Jace didn't stood up, balancing on his knees as he started to pick off grass from my dress with such concentration and sincerity that I wanted to laugh.
“Jace?” I called, smiling. Always a mother hen.
He just hummed and continue to dust off the green. Looking as serious as a surgeon. I took the time to shamelessly stare at him. The blue light of the pool made him look otherworldly as they
danced across his cheekbones, eyelashes fluttering, soft blonde hair swaying in the wind. I burned the image into my eyelids, everything about him was jus too precious.
He looked up, a smile tugging softly at his lips.
“What is it?”
My fingers had a mind of their own as I plucked a stray grass from his hair and perhaps lingered a bit too long. I stared at it then said, “Nothing.” You're just as beautiful and perfect as always.
He chuckled lowly, gaze unreadable as he straighten the wispy folds of my dress. What am I, five? 
I didn't say anything, letting him take care of me. He always do that. He'll take care of me and I'll protect him. Isn't that our promise? How are we supposed to keep that now?
“Jace?” 
He hummed in reply. In the background our relatives has started to crowd in and was missing our presence. 
“They're calling us.”
“Oh.” He blinked.
I smiled at him and patted his cheek. I used to do that when we were kids, like a big sister but now I didn't know if he realized the feelings behind the gesture had changed.
He blinked again and shook his head, like clearing his thoughts. “I was— I was fixing your dress.” 
I hummed in approval, “Thank you.” Yet, those simple words seemed have thousand of unsaid words.
“Whenever.” He said back, I giggled at his answer. It was our code. That whenever I need him, he will be there to help. A little ironic now but that doesn't lessen the meaning behind the endearing word.
We held hands as we went back to our family, swinging my hands as we go.
It was a fun time, laughter free of worry, unafraid and free. Jace looked relaxed and for a second, the weight on his shoulders seemed to be lifted, to absorbed in the environment, busy laughing and telling jokes. 
I was more than glad I can witness this side of Jace again after so long. It seems like the days lately was just filled my worries and fears and words couldn't describe how I felt guilty for weighing him down. I couldn't let him go just yet and our joined hands felt like shackles, the one I put on him and the one he left on willingly. 
The party went on for hours, at some point I lost Jace in the midst of my college age cousins and I left him to have fun with fellow boys as I sipped my drink and stared at lights dancing on the pool, eyes flicking to Jace now and then, could never really leave him. 
I wonder what that said about us. About me in particular to be so attached and loved him so deeply that I myself, was torn between letting go and let him be on his journey and the urge to just keep him with me, under a blanket fort in my room. Where he'll be safe and happy. And with me.
I let my thoughts run while for a wild, occasionally talking and playing with my little cousins until it was fifteen minutes to twelve, then I got up and went to look for Jace. It was like playing hide and seek, no one had seen Jace and they all thought that he was with me. 
I sighed and looked for the first place he might hide in. 
His hiding place was my room.Too obvious. I tried to contain my smile.
He was asleep.
The dim light from the window casted a soft shadow on his face, he looked so young, so innocent. He didn't look like the adult that was going into the army in a few days. He was a boy, sleeping soundly, worries forgotten.
I didn't have the heart to wake him up so like a creep, I just watched him sleep. I watched the lights dance on his face, the shadows from the tree swaying on his skin like he was a sleeping prince from a fairytale. 
I began to hum under my breath. Just content to be there. 
The burden must be so heavy on him, he was going in his last year of high school and he decided to join the army. He skipped a year just for this purpose, even got his exams all ahead so he can go without worrying about his grades. I rolled my eyes at the memory. He was so whiny yet determined to accomplished it. I didn't want to let him and just let him be, not wanting to help him but I relented eventually. Knowing that he was only whiny to me. To my parents, to his grandfather and others, he didn't have any worries, just cruising along the broad paved road full of sunlight. Yet I was the only who knew how hard he worked to have that easy paved road. 
I was the one who laid out the stones. As he did the doors to my princess castle. I couldn't think anything that we do separately until now. If he's there, then I'm there too. We didn't really have any reason to do otherwise.
Until now.
It must have taken a lot from him, studying, working out, passing all the tests, taking care of me… My mom always said I was a handful.That since we were in diapers Jace was the only one who I listen to.
I pulled my fluffy blue bed cover over him and tucked him in. My fingers reached on their own and traced his sharp nose and delicate shape of his eyelashes. 
He was my prince and knight in shining armor. I was his princess until the knight decided he must leave on a journey to hunt for the biggest dragon. 
I prayed that the world be kind to him, from now on I won't be able to be by his side to cry and take his pain away. 
“How can I fulfill my promise to you if you're not here?” I whispered to him.
Silence greeted me.
Jace woke up minutes from twelve to me humming our song. I raised an eyebrow at him.
He groaned and hide his face under the cover. “Is it your shoes? Do I need to find some missing shoes?” He asked hoarsely.
I rolled my eyes and got up, playing tug of war with the covers. Of course I  lost strength wise and Jace was having too much fun doing so. 
“Come on! I have a surprise for you!” I yanked the covers harder from him.
At this, like a puppy, he peeked from under the covers, eyes narrowed and scanning me. “Where is it?” He eyed my empty hands suspiciously.
I shoved him back. “Scoot over.” 
Jace scooted over and sat up properly with bleary eyes, blinking the sleep away. He worked so hard and it took a great toll on him. My heart squeezed painfully at the darkness under his eyes. Despite that, I wanted to make this a happy, cheerful event so I screamed, “Happy birthday!” Happily to his face.
He recoiled from the noise and huffed out a laugh, eyes quickly went from sleepy to gentle twinkles. Like the most beautiful night sky.“Wha— I thought you didn't remember.” He had the nerve to whisper.
I scoffed at him, “Are you kidding me? It's YOUR birthday! How can I forget? I counted down every year for this, did you forget?” 
At my answer, he smiled my favorite smile, where his eyes would grew smaller and his dimples would show. “Thank you.” His voice was the most gentle of whispers and it still lodged itself inside my heart, finding its home there. 
Jace opened his arms with a grin and I launched myself into them. Quicker than a missile.
Home.
His laugh vibrated in his chest and I shivered at the sound. “What did you get me this time?” 
I pulled away and smiled, pulling out the little box that lay forgotten when I jumped into his arms. 
It was a simple unassuming little black box. Not velvet, just a simple black box. 
Jace shook it quickly like the three year old he really was. I rolled my eyes again and shoved his shoulder playfully. 
“What is it?” He asked, voice full of laughter yet the smile on his face was gentle and just too damn beautiful.
“Open it and see for yourself.”
He blinked at the contents. He turned it around in his hands, “Is this…” 
Jace played with the guitar pick. It looked ordinary, a bit too thick than the average one as the only difference. My smile grew wider as he looked at it, turning it around and around. Coldplay was written on one side and the other was Scientist. At this point we forgot whose favorite song it was originally.
Finally, I took it from his hands and opened the guitar pick, knowing where to prod to get it to open. The pick fell apart like a locket and inside, on one one is our picture in a collage, one when we were five and under it were just taken yesterday. Both of the pictures looked identical, with the same pose, same look, same laughter. In the picture I was sitting crosslegged on the ground, eyes closed and grinning wide as I leaned on Jace's legs. Jace was looking down at me, eyes gentle with a fond smile. 
On the other side of the pick was a writing. 
“I was here from the start and I will stay ‘till the end.” 
Jace didn't say anything, he blinked repeatedly like holding back tears but I knew he was never going to cry. Not when his father died and definitely not now. 
	I reached up and touched his face, carving his features to my memory. Though at this point in time I already memorized them all. 
“Will you promise me one thing?” I asked softly. 
My thumb traced an invisible pattern on his cheek. He leaned into the touch and closed his eyes, “Anything.” He whispered.
“Will you promise me you will come back safely and in one piece?” I knew it was a cruel question. He couldn't promise me something like that, yet I still asked, ignoring everything. 
I wanted to sob. I only wanted him to be safe and happy. 
He just pulled me into his arms and exhaled harshly. The silence continued well after that. Leaving the promise hanging in the air and I blinked my tears away and closed my eyes. 
Jace only hugged me tighter. 


When my best friend joined the army, I felt like my soul was ripped away from me.  He had always dreamed of going into the army, to follow his father footsteps. To prove himself. And I knew that, but still, it didn't stop the ache, the loneliness I felt without him being near me, we were always together, joined at the hip since we were five.   Imagine being separated for two years? I almost went crazy went he said he would be leaving after his birthday. But now he's back, and I expect him to fulfill his promise. If he didn't? Well... I will go tiger bite on his ass. I promise you that.



CHAPTER THREE 

My mom was going to throw a pool party for Jace, as a prayer for his safe trip and his birthday. It will be his birthday in a couple of hours. Jace only had his grandfather, his mother died in childbirth and his father… I sighed. His father is the source of my problem right now, Jace is always chasing the ghost of his shadow. 

Everyone in my family loves Jace like he was the other son of my mother and I couldn’t be more grateful about that. It gave me the permission I need to have spend the whole day with him just busy laughing and preparing for the party, with no time to acknowledge my fear and worry. Just having fun like two little kids, without any care in the world. 

It was going to be held at night, so not exactly a pool party when you couldn’t swim in the pool. I tried to tell my mother that but she dismissed my awesome idea, I guess she knew if it's held by day we will all just be busy goofing around in the pool and not entertaining and making nice with the guests. so I just called it a dinner party at the side of the pool. 

It was Sunday, even though we had school tomorrow, my mom insisted we held the party because it was a ceremony from my family to wish him a safe duty in the army. My family loves him so much that sometimes I think he was their beloved child and not me. 

I looked at Jace across the room, he was joking with my cousins and uncles. Looking the perfect image of the social butterfly, I didn’t envy him, no, I was awed by him. 

He was so flawless, perfect. Everything I wasn’t. 

Jace eyes met mine from across the room, he smiled and waved, my other cousins noticed me and smiled as well, waving at me to join them. 

I smiled back and shook my head, “I need to get changed first.” They were all in their dress shirts and dress while I was still in my Jeans and T-shirt. 

Jace nodded and shooed me to get change fast with an eager smile on his lips. I rolled my eyes and climbed the stairs two at a time. My mom had gave me a dress for this occasion, saying I didn’t own any dress to match the theme so she bought it for me. 

The dress was a pale pink color, making my pale skin appear as beautiful, a fact that I welcomed today. I didn't want to pale beside Jace and his glory. Someday, I kept wishing, to be able to stand by him with my head held high. 

I curled my hair up in an elegant up do that I learnt on youtube and wore some light make up, a light eyeshadow, lip gloss, eyeliner and blush. I worked hard to always improve and to be able to match Jace, appearance is just another field I need to work on. 

When I was finished I grudgingly trudged down the stairs, balancing on my a little too-high-to-walk-heels. My family clapped and hooted when they caught sight of me grumbling inelegantly on the stairs. I looked at them and scanned their faces for Jace. 

Looking into his eyes, I knew what my family were seeing, I was the beautiful lady in a white dress. Not the spoiled and reckless brat they all knew me as. His eyes looked luminous in the dim light of the pool, blue eyes rivaling the water itself. 

Did he plan to burn me with that look? 

I smiled sheepishly at him and shrugged. He winked scandalously and tipped his drink back, as if saying. ‘Welcome to the party.’ 

I skipped down the stairs towards him and almost launched myself to his arm but caught myself quickly, remembering where we were. Jace grinned at me like knew what I was going to do. 

“The princess of the party is finally here.” He cooed, he made me do a spin in front of him. 

I giggled, feeling like a nine year old again with her first birthday party, he twirled me around too when I was nine because I liked the sparkling pink dress with a princess tiara. Back then everything feel so light and today, I twirled like I was nine years old again without worry in my heart. 

His lips twitched and his eyes shine with adoration as I continued to spin and laughed around the room. We earned glances from all my family but I was having too much fun to care about them. 

When we finally stopped twirling and laughing we were at the pool, not realizing how we got there in our twirling haze, we rolled on the grass laughing. 

But was cut short when my mom yelled, “No ruining your dress, Ashley!” She scolded from the dining room. 

I rolled my eyes and stood up, grumbling. My mom had a point though, I worked hard on my appearance today, hoping I can be equal to him at least for a day. I dusted my dress from the grass that was clinging on my dress. Jace didn’t stood up, balancing on his knees as he started to pick off grass from my dress with such concentration and sincerity that I wanted to laugh. 

“Jace?” I called, smiling. Always a mother hen. 

He just hummed and continue to dust off the green. Looking as serious as a surgeon. I took the time to shamelessly stare at him. The blue light of the pool made him look otherworldly as they danced across his cheekbones, eyelashes fluttering, soft blonde hair swaying in the wind. I burned the image into my eyelids, everything about him was jus too precious. 

He looked up, a smile tugging softly at his lips. 

“What is it?” 

 My fingers had a mind of their own as I plucked a stray grass from his hair and perhaps lingered a bit too long. I stared at it then said, “Nothing.” You’re just as beautiful and perfect as always. 

He chuckled lowly, gaze unreadable as he straighten the wispy folds of my dress. What am I, five? 

I didn’t say anything, letting him take care of me. He always do that. He’ll take care of me and I’ll protect him. Isn’t that our promise? How are we supposed to keep that now? 

“Jace?” 

He hummed in reply. In the background our relatives has started to crowd in and was missing our presence. 

“They’re calling us.” 

“Oh.” He blinked. 

I smiled at him and patted his cheek. I used to do that when we were kids, like a big sister but now I didn’t know if he realized the feelings behind the gesture had changed. 

He blinked again and shook his head, like clearing his thoughts. “I was— I was fixing your dress.” 

I hummed in approval, “Thank you.” Yet, those simple words seemed have thousand of unsaid words. 

“Whenever.” He said back, I giggled at his answer. It was our code. That whenever I need him, he will be there to help. A little ironic now but that doesn’t lessen the meaning behind the endearing word. 

We held hands as we went back to our family, swinging my hands as we go. 

It was a fun time, laughter free of worry, unafraid and free. Jace looked relaxed and for a second, the weight on his shoulders seemed to be lifted, to absorbed in the environment, busy laughing and telling jokes. 

I was more than glad I can witness this side of Jace again after so long. It seems like the days lately was just filled my worries and fears and words couldn’t describe how I felt guilty for weighing him down. I couldn’t let him go just yet and our joined hands felt like shackles, the one I put on him and the one he left on willingly. 

The party went on for hours, at some point I lost Jace in the midst of my college age cousins and I left him to have fun with fellow boys as I sipped my drink and stared at lights dancing on the pool, eyes flicking to Jace now and then, could never really leave him. 

I wonder what that said about us. About me in particular to be so attached and loved him so deeply that I myself, was torn between letting go and let him be on his journey and the urge to just keep him with me, under a blanket fort in my room. Where he’ll be safe and happy. And with me. 

I let my thoughts run while for a wild, occasionally talking and playing with my little cousins until it was fifteen minutes to twelve, then I got up and went to look for Jace. It was like playing hide and seek, no one had seen Jace and they all thought that he was with me. 

I sighed and looked for the first place he might hide in. 

His hiding place was my room.Too obvious. I tried to contain my smile. 

He was asleep. 

The dim light from the window casted a soft shadow on his face, he looked so young, so innocent. He didn’t look like the adult that was going into the army in a few days. He was a boy, sleeping soundly, worries forgotten. 

I didn’t have the heart to wake him up so like a creep, I just watched him sleep. I watched the lights dance on his face, the shadows from the tree swaying on his skin like he was a sleeping prince from a fairytale.

This is a story of finding your way back home... Of finding yourself. What is home to you? Is it a person? Is it your achievements? Or your skills? Your family? Your best friend? Ashley and Jace they are each other's home and save haven, they had each other's back through everything, thick and thin. Until they got lost and had to find their way back to each other. This is their journey on how to find their way back and fulfill their promises to each other.

Arghhh! I can't do this. This is very hard. Hands, please come back on your senses. I took my wand out of my bag and stare at it for an hour.

I am a designer and I need my hands to design bags and all. I call my secretary to grab me some milktea from the nearest cafe. This is all new to me now, my hands and everything in my surroundings. Is this the right path?

Someone knocking at my door and interupt me. No one can interupt me while I'm thinking. I might pull their hair. Buti na lang naayos ko sarili ko bago ko siya napapasok.

"Come in," I said while pretending to work.

"Ms., we need you to sign on this and read it. This is some important files from the chairman." She said and gave me the folder full of papers.

"Is Chairman fooling me? He wants me to read all this?" I gave her a deadly glance.

"Wait, I'll answer this," I said to her and tumango lang siya.

"Just read it, you'll know something," and he ended the call. The woman leave already and leave the files on my table. I'm too lazy too read it now, maybe tomorrow.

"Set an appointment to my doctor, Marlia." I said when she opened my door. I know that is her. 

"Yes. ma'am. By the way, here is your milktea, hazelnut." I take a sip on my milktea and continue doing my designs. My hands starting to shake and I think I need to see a doctor. I can't work like this. I hate that bitch because of her my hands became weaker.

I grab my bag then walk to our rest room to refresh. I wash my face and pat some tissue to dry it up. I put face powder and lipstick on my face then went outside. I saw Marliah talking to someone on our phone, that's probably my doctor.

When I'm in the middle of my dance, someone entered the door. I assumed that he is the cleaner of this space I kept going. I emotionally dance and go with the music. I did some pirouette, sauté and many more. I want to be myself again. 

I spin and spin and spin and spi---

Someone join me on my dance. I stopped for a while because I'm watching him. I can't see his face because It is covered with a mask. I continue when he offers his hand and my hands started to shake.

Even though he can't hear the music, nasabayan niya ako. And when the song ends, he holds my waist and pull me towards him. He holds my hand but my hands aren't shaking anymore.

After a moment of speaking the awkwardness left and Sam started to like these siblings, their mother was Korean while their dad was Chinese and they had lived all their life here.

The big brother's name was Jin, he was in his 3rd year of university and aspired to be a doctor. He was a very talkative person, he never stopped talking but was never boring. Just the kind of guy everybody would want to be friend with.

The big sister's name was Annie, she was just like Sam in her first year of university and she studied languages. Contrary to her brother she didn't talk much but she always had a kind smile on her face that made people like her.

Sam took out a few boxes from his backpack and put a few things into Em's plate while Annie did the same, in her boxes were lots of things that looked delicious but... everything had a red hue, Asian people really liked spicy food. Today Sam had done pastas with meat balls and a salad, Em and Rika shared their plates. After a few seconds of eating from Rika's plate Em started breathing faster, then her face became red, tears even started to spill out of her eyes and finally she couldn't endure it and took a water bottle and gulped it in one time.

"I'm sorry Em I didn't know that you didn't like spicy food."

Sam was first surprised and then started laughing, Em had never liked spicy food but she actually ate it because she wanted to copy Rika. After spending a good time together both groups went toward the running ground, the break was over and the final round of the race will start now. The best teams of each group will compete in the final, the teams were Rika and Jin, Em and Sam and the best teams of the other three groups. Teacher Rose and her son had arrived 3rd in their group so they couldn't participate in the finals and Kate and her dad didn't even make it in the podium of their group, they arrived last...

People started to gather slowly, after a few minutes everybody was there again. After another short speech by the principal to encourage the losers, he announced the start of the final. 

The five teams lined up, Em and Rika despite being best friends were full of fighting intent as they watched each other, not one of them wanted to recede the victory this easily. *PAAA*, the referee shot to give the start and everybody started running. At first everybody was equal and it was hard to distinguish who was in front of who, after a few seconds only a boy took the lead and started to extend the distance between him and the rest. He finally gave the relay first and his dad ran as fast as he could, a second later all the rest of the relays were passed and the rest of the adults started running at almost the same time. Sam noticed sadness in Em's eyes when she looked at the fastest boy, she probably really wanted to win so he focused and gave his all. He seemed as if he was flying and right behind him was Jin who was doing his best to not lose with a ragged breathing, he didn't expect Sam to go this fast and was momentarily thrown behind him. The race did almost 500 meters long, the kids ran 200 meters while the adults ran 300. When he had only a 100 meters left to run the dad in front relaxed a bit, he didn't expect to see someone passing him right at that moment with incredible speed, following the first one came another one, both were incredibly fast even after giving his all he couldn't get close to them. Finally Sam made it first and Jin second, the former was very surprised that the later could actually run as fast as him. They would have probably been tied if Jin didn't get surprised by the outburst of energy by Sam.

Later they were standing he and Em on the first step of the podium, he was indifferent but she had a bright smile and she was giggling and joking with Rika that was one step under her. The rewards weren't very important but Sam was happy that he came today as he had made a good friend, after the race he spoke with Jin and felt that he was a good guy so they exchanged their phone number.

Few minutes later Sam and Em we're back home, Em didn't stop smiling all along. She was actually very happy to have won and when he sent her to bed she was too excited to sleep so she asked him to sing her a song.

"What do you want me to sing ?"
"Whatever, sing me a happy song."
She said while she looked at him with her pure eyes, he smiled and went to grab his guitar.
He sang an adapted version of Paradise by Coldplay as the original wasn't sang with an acoustic guitar.
"She was just a girl...
She expected the world...

So she ran away in her sleep and dreamed of....

Sam enjoyed singing, he always felt something while watching singers on TV. 
It actually felt good to tell a story throughout a song. Em fell asleep a few songs later with a big smile on her face, Sam kissed her forehead, turned off the light and went outside while gently closing the door.

He went in his room and turned on the computer, he couldn't endure it anymore and really wanted to check his view count on YouTube. He first checked the outdoor show. It had reached an incredible 60 000 views  even though he had published it after the cover. And then he went very fast to check on the other video, this was the one he was counting on to make his first check after all. 

When Sam saw the view count he couldn't believe it and refreshed the page a few times. He rubbed his eyes and looked again, it was still the same value.

His xxxtentacion cover had went way past the hundred thousand. He didn't believe that all those views came naturally, that's when he remembered the promise with Eric.
