A book where I can express my thoughts and exercise the accumulated knowledge instilled in my brain over the years through reviews.

Been longing to speak my mind about things and my surroundings and now that I found this platform, I'd like to freely express myself. Please bear with me. :)

I was trying to think of how many different ways a (romantic) love relationship in a story can be packaged, and what was most commonly seen in stories. Though I know there are more than five approaches (I found a blog post that listed 13, though some overlap with my list), here are five that came to my mind:

1. Young Love


Peeta-and-Katniss
This is an affection that starts when the characters are young, like Peeta was five when he first noticed Katniss,  or like Rudy's care for Liesel in The Book Thief. I don't think a real, devoted love can actually start when one is five, but then again, I don't know what the magic age would be. However, I still find this premise very cute in general.

"Well Peeta, we know, from our days in the cave, that it was love at first sight for you from what, age five?" Caesar says.

"From the moment I laid eyes on her," says Peeta. (The Hunger Games)

2. Friendship That Turns Into Love

I also love it when two friends in a story, especially if they're best friends or childhood friends (again going somewhat with the idea of young love) fall in love. I think a classic example of this is Emma and Knightley in Emma. They've known each other for most all their lives, but it takes time for both of them to both fall in love and to realize it.

It darted through her with the speed of an arrow that Mr. Knightley must marry no one but herself! (Emma)

3. Resistant Love

Jane Austen also made this a classic love relationship found in stories with Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth in Pride and Prejudice, as well as with Marianne and Colonel Brandon in Sense and Sensibility. I also enjoy this type of story because it creates such great tension. I was going to call this "antagonistic love," but sometimes you can be friends with someone and still resist the thought of being with them for one reason or another.

4. Insta-Love (AKA Love at First Sight)

Generally, this one frustrates me. I guess it may sound hypocritical to like young love stories of Peeta vying for Katniss at five and not love at first sight stories that take place years later, but at least as a child has several years to make up their mind if they actually love the person. So for teens and adults I tend to not find these insta-love situations not realistic or enjoyable, but for some reason I had next to no problem with Marius and Cosette and the 2012 Les Miserables film. Now, I will acknowledge that I have heard that in the book they have more of a relationship, but I have actually not read the book. I did, however, see the 1998 film, which doesn't include as much of the story as the 2012 film, but somehow better develops Marius and Cosette's relationship, so maybe that helped me not be as prejudiced towards it. Who knows, maybe it's because they sing the entire movie and I just accept everything because it was so beautifully done. I can't think of any good examples from books where I really accepted it. Does anyone else have one?

5. Unrequited Love

Laurie for Jo, Gale for Katniss, Rudy for Liesel, Harriet for Mr. Elton, Eponine for Marius, the list goes on… these are the stingers, when someone loves somebody and they just don't love them back. It makes our soul ache, especially when we would have loved to see them as a couple. Or sometimes you know they wouldn't be a good couple and you're relieved! But you still probably feel at least a little bad. There are also a couple of great and tragic examples of this from the show Babylon 5 that I really want to share, but I don't want to spoil the show, so just go watch all five seasons and then we'll chat about it. Instead, I leave you with a quote from the show…

You hold in your hands Magical Wands - A Cornucopia of Wand Lore, one of the most popular and widely used textbooks on wand lore, even if I do say so myself. Although I specifically wrote this book for the wand lore class I teach at The Isle of Skye School of Magick, I am more than a little proud to note that it has been used in several other schools, both here in the British Isles and across the pond in America. My publisher even tells me that it is often used when young witches and wizards do not attend a proper school of magic but are home schooled instead.
When teaching wand lore, I cover the first four chapters during the fall semester and remaining four chapters during the spring semester. Although this book was specifically written for fourth year students, I sometimes allow the more advanced third year students to enroll, and they usually do not find the material too challenging even though the book is considerably longer than the typical third year textbook.
As the word cornucopia in the title implies, this textbook covers almost all of the important topics of wand lore. It begins with a quick review of the foundations of magic including the metaphysical elementals, phases, genders, and their associated spells and spell sets. It then dives into the many important principles of wand making. This is followed by chapters on the materials used in the crafting of wands including magical creatures for the wand's core, magical woods for the wand's shaft and handle, and finally the mystical crystals and metals often found on the wand's tip and end cap. The remainder of the book largely deals with the wands of famous and infamous mages throughout history including many examples of how the selection of wand components frequently enabled their wands to excel at strengthening and focusing the spells they cast most often.
In spite of its rather large size, this book does not cover every aspect of wand lore. For instance, it does not detail the proper ways to obtain wand-making materials and many of the practical aspects of crafting a wand from them. These are advanced topics more appropriate for a fifth year hands-on course in wand making. Neither does it teach the casting of spells, which is rightly the subject of a series of courses on spell casting.
And now it is time to dive into - dare I say it - the magical world of wand lore. I wish you all success in mastering the theory of wand lore, and. I hope you consider following this course with one covering the actual crafting of magic wands. Finally, I hope one or two of you consider a career of wand making once you graduate. After five years as an apprentice, you will become a master wand maker and enjoy a life of crafting fine wands, a mage's most important instrument.

Magical Wands: A Cornucopia of Wand Lore is that textbook from The Isles of Skye School of Magick. The first chapter begins with a basic overview of magic wands followed by an introduction to magical theory including the four planes of existence (Astral, Spectral, Physical, and Daemonic), the five metaphysical elementals (Quintessence, Air, Fire, Earth, and Water), and the three preternatural phases of Light, Twilight, and Darkness. It also contains sets of the commonly used spells associated with each of these elementals and phases. The first chapter then describes the different types of wands, their components, how they are crafted, and how they are used to cast spells. Chapter two teaches the 17 principles of wand making. In the long-awaited book fans, Yang Yi's new book «Yu Zui» was finally released on time on July 20. At the same time, the new book «Desert Wolf King» of Tiejun Net "Bullethole Scar" has also been updated.

What is a title? The title is the core of your book, it gives it a definition. What is the use of the title? The title is the first thing people see when exploring books. Having that perfect catchy title will help you hook up more readers.

Now how to make this Catchy Title? Well here are a few tips in creating a fitting title for your fiction. Number One,  Brainstorm ideas. Write down every word that comes to mind about your story. Include keywords about the topic, character names, phrases you love, and anything else that comes to mind. Arrange these in different combinations to see if anything speaks to you.

Here is an example of an Array of words: Hero, Ryan, Magical, Fantasy, Swords, Adventure.

Example of a Bad Title: The Hero Ryan's Magical Adventure in a Fantasy World

Compared to this Catchy Title: A Hero's Journey or Ryan's Magical Adventure.

or you can make it shorter: The Unsung Hero or Child's Dream

Second, Study titles in your genre. Look for stories or books that are popular with your target audience. Readers may be drawn to your work because it reminds them of something they already like.

For example, many young adult fantasy novels hinge on one or two intriguing words: Twilight, Bitten, Cinder, The Selection.

There is something called the Internet where you can search for different examples of Titles for the same genre.

Examples of Video Game fiction titles: The Legend of Zelda, Game Consoles, Moonlight Sculptor, Trapped in a Video Game.

Examples of Fantasy fiction titles: Harry Potter, Is it wrong to pick up girls in the dungeon? , Alice in Wonderland, Percy Jackson

These titles have one thing in common they are all related to the main character or the main story. It reveals information to the people but not too much.

Third, Make the title exciting. Dull or generic titles won't catch the reader's eye. Titles such as "The Tree" or "The Train" might name the subject or a symbol in the story, but it doesn't excite the reader.

Try adding a more descriptive word to the basic title. Successful titles using the above words include The Giving Tree, A Tree Grows In Brooklyn, The Mystery of the Blue Train, and The Orphan Train.

Utilizing the keywords you've brainstorm you can create amazing titles by bending and twisting the words.

Example of an Array: Weird, Male, Friendly Monster, Room

You can Create: My (Weird) Unusual Friend or The Mysterious Friendly Monster

Using the Synonyms and Antonyms of the words you have in your list making them more appealing and attractive.

Fourth, Make the title easy to remember. Titles are not only supposed to catch the reader's attention but also spread the word about your work. Something too difficult to remember won't appeal to editors or agents, and your reader won't remember and be able to tell someone else the title. You want to come up with an exciting, yet catchy and easy to remember, title.

Read your title out loud. Does it roll off the tongue? Is it exciting? Does it sound boring? Would you check out this title? The answers to these questions can help you revise the title.

Example, What would you likely remember after an hour? The Murder on Wzcyiubjekistan Express or Murder n the Orient Express. Surely it would be the latter.

Fifth, Pay attention to the wording. A title should be appropriate for the story, but it doesn't need to confuse your potential readers. Make sure that your wording doesn't depict the story as something it is not. Your title shouldn't sound like a science fiction story if it's a romance.

Example if your title is Hacking System the first thing that comes into your reader's mind is "This Story is a Sci-Fi story with a system as Hack literally means to use a computer to gain unauthorized access to data in a system.

Sixth, Use strong, vivid language. A title needs to stand out. Strong action words, vivid adjectives, or intriguing nouns can all make your title compelling. Look at the words in your potential title. Are there synonyms that are more descriptive or unique? Can you choose a word that has a less general meaning? Some words are so common their meaning doesn't impact readers in the same way.

For example, the use of the word desire in Eugene O'Neill's Desire Under the Elms is far more interesting than Love Under the Elms.

It's like choosing the word war over battle because war gives that strong bloodshed feel. Example World Battle I or World War I, do you see my point here?

Also, don't use common words like System this, Cheats that, and so on and so forth. The reason is simple, your story will become a needle in a haystack becoming covered up.

Seventh, Seek inspiration. Book titles often derive from established great works, such as the Bible, Shakespeare, song lyrics, or other sources. Write down phrases that are meaningful, beautiful, or intriguing to you.

Examples of this type of title include The Grapes of Wrath; Absalom, Absalom; Gaudy Night, The Fault in Our Stars.

This is quotes or phrases that give a deeper meaning just like the Japanese manga titles. Is it wrong to pick up girls in the dungeon?, Problem Children Are Coming From Another World, Aren't They?

Eight, Read your own work. Titles are often memorable lines from the book or story itself. Readers may enjoy the moment when they realize why a story has a particular title.

Examples of this type of title include To Kill a Mockingbird, Catch-22, and Catcher in the Rye.

This types of titles can be the most repeated quote your protagonist or antagonist uses like. Maybe Someday... or I am Supreme. sleek and chill titles.

Ninth, Write down your inspirations when they come. Often, good writing ideas come to you when you least expect it. You may forget these, so keep a paper and pencil handy to jot down ideas that come to you whenever inspiration may strike.

Like The Railroad above the highway, The Barks Next Door, The Flickering Night Light, or The Sudden Flood.

You can find these stuff literally everywhere example ask the people around you or look at the news headline. the places around you. the usual daily things you see with imagination.

Tenth, Add Emotions. This is what you need. Putting your heart is always better than just doing your best. make your title feel personal like it is a part of you.

Eleventh, Know your audience. Keep your audience in mind when drafting a headline. The world's most shocking title may contain the words "harem," "sex," "lies," and "videotape," but it could be a complete turn-off to an audience of monks.

Twelveth, SEO optimize. Include a "focus keyword" to help your writing to get discovered in search engines. Build the headline around the most important keyword in your written text and ensure that it is fewer than 70 characters. Additional words are considered too long for Google to index. 

This will help your story appear at the top of Google searches on the front page

Thirteenth, Create a knowledge vacuum. A headline that leaves the reader wanting more has done its job. Take this one for example: "These Pieces Of Advice Found On Instagram Could Change Your Life." Does it make you want more? Does it intrigue you? Your readers will probably look for more information in the rest of your article.

Fourteenth, Solve a problem. After reading a headline, readers may wonder, "Why should I read on?" Many decide to do so because they believe from the title of the post that you, the author, can solve their problem. Consider the headline of this post; perhaps you are reading with the hope it will solve your headline-writing problem?!

Fifteenth, Use numbers. People love numbers, especially in headlines. Numbers are something we know and feel comfortable with; they give us a sense of familiarity and advise our brains on how long an article may take to read. With numbers, we can justify the exchange of information for our time – especially with numbers that describe how many points will be covered. For example: "10 Ways to cook eggs that your mother never told you about."

Sixteenth, Cheat. Yes, you heard right. Don't be afraid to look for inspiration wherever you can. If you write for a publication, review older copies and look for examples that you know would work with your audience and tweak them. ViralNova.com, a website that repackages content that is already available, does a great job of writing compelling headlines. Tim Ferris created multiple titles for his book, The 4 Hour Work Week, before settling on the mega-hit. He ran a series of Google ads and looked at the click-through rates, simply choosing the one with the highest.

Seventeenth, Use technology. There is a tool called Portent's Content Idea Generator, and it is a piece of brilliance. Plug in your topic or focus keyword into the little text box hit a button, and bam – out pops a catchy headline in less time than one minute and seven seconds. At the very least, it could
trigger ideas.

Overall, a catchy headline should speak directly to the part of the brain that subconsciously cares. However, a catchy headline is nothing without quality, thoughtful, engaging content that is shared and admired. Remember: that's the reason we wanted the catchy headline in the first place. And until we start reading from the bottom up, catchy headlines are here to stay.

Basically, these are randomizers in the internet. Search things like Fantasy fiction title randomizer. This will give you titles like White Willow Sunset, Brisking Adventure, and so on.

If you manage the title you like integrate or simply change some of the words in the title with the words that you've brainstormed.

For example, it is said that in the siege of Acre, the Ayyubids had to bring around a hundred wagons for the catapults.
a. Tension Catapults
This form of catapults are made by the early Greeks in the classical era, these catapults work in the same principles as the ballista or heavy crossbow, there is a winch in the back to extend the restraining rope for maximum potential energy, the projectile on the bow resting on the wooden trough, and is fired once the winch is released.
b. Torsion Catapults
This form of catapults are also made by the early Greeks, as a form of improvements for the Tension Catapult, also with a winch and a bow, but this time they used a rope bundle puller coiled around tightly for increased energy, distance and speed.
c. Traction Catapults
This form of catapults first appeared in Classical age China, and then later in near East. Different from their Greek counterparts, they use a lever instead of a rope string, that a soldier is supposed to pull down the lever sending the projectile slinging into mid-air and landing down in a curved trajectory.
d. Gravity Catapults
This kind of catapults, or better known as the trebuchets, it involves a slinger, a counterweight connected together in a throwing arm. Once the counterweight is dropped, it sends the throwing arm flinging and thus sending the projectile flying in a curved trajectory. The first known descriptions of this kind of trebuchets is Salah ad-Din's conquests, documented by Islamic scholar Mardi ibn Ali al-Tarsusi.
Other forms of Catapults: Mangonel, Onager, Petrary.
2. Manned force Siege Engines
a. Battering Ram
I don't think I need to explain for this one. The ram is basically a log with a hardened head usually covered in iron, moved  by several man, moving back and fourth, usually used on weak points such as the gate of the castle or fortress to knock it open. Ram are so effective that you can still see it in modern era when one needs to break through a fortified door. Rams are also used on seas other than on land.
b. Ladders
This one is also a classic, hardly needs explaining. A group of soldiers carry a ladder, stick it onto the ground, attach it to the enemy walls and climb. Hopefully they wont die in the mid of climbing, and hopefully they won't get killed immediately once they made up onto the walls.
c. Siege tower
Siege tower is a combination of the ram and ladder, it is a large wooden tower with wells, with a tower for friendly archers to suppress enemy archers in cover, this is the reason why siege towers are usually built a little bit even higher than the enemy walls, not only it makes friendly infantries easier to climb onto enemy walls, but also gives the friendly archers better cover, and giving the enemy archers on the walls a hard time shooting at the men on the tower.
The siege tower is usually attached with a ladder inside. Soldiers can climb onto the tower under cover of hard wood without having to worry being shot or knocked down in the process, then start pouring in on enemy walls.
Beneath the tower theres a battering ram to crush onto enemy walls and getting attached to it. The oldest usage of siege towers is the Neo-Assyrian Empire in the 9th century BC, then spreading to Ancient Eygptus, Phoenicians and the Hellens, basically all of Mediterranean civilisations. While the first record usage of the siege tower is in the fifth century BC in the kingdom of Wu.
 
3. Gunpowder& Artilleries
When you talk about siege warfare in late middle ages and early renaissance, you cannot skip the topic of gun powder. Gun powder is invented in China as early as early 9th Century, during the mid-Tang dynasty. It is said that the formulae for gun powder is accidentally discovered by an alchemist who is trying to make a kind of don't know what thing that will give his emperor an eternity life.
However, it is not until roughly two hundred years later in the Song dynasty that the Chinese began using gun powder widely in warfare.
a. Grenades
Grenades began developing in medieval China, in the book Complete Essentials for the Military Classics, 1044 AD, it is mentioned that the Chinese use gun powders in grenades and bombs, which is effective in sieges when thrown onto the walls blowing up a large amount of people. Early gun powder formulae are mostly around a quarter Sulphur, a quarter Carbon compound, and two quarter Nitre. Later grenades evolved, and theres even an early form of poison gas grenade later. Grenades can be placed on trebuchets and tossed onto enemy cities and walls, creating loud noises and little explosions.
b. Rockets projectiles
Yes, the Chinese got rockets in medieval era. The Mongols, after eliminating the Jin dynasty in 1234 AD, brought this technology with them to Poland, where they used this early rockets against the Holy Roman&Kingdom of Poland union forces. Rockets are later also used in sieges but proved ineffective against walls because of their weak fire power.
c. Canons
The first kind of artilleries first appeared, yes of course, in China. The date is debatable, but it is somewhere in thirteen & fourteen century. The first record of metallic cannon appeared in fourteen century, which the Mongols used them against the Rurik Russians, as record in Opus Majus by Roger Bacon. Early canons fire rocks pounding them onto enemy walls and gates, sometimes on enemy battle formations. The Arabs learnt about gun powder and implemented it in military, which is later brought into Europe and Anatolia. The most famous of them is the Orban Canon, the canon that can be said, blasted the impenetrable walls of Constantinople that ended the middle ages.
4. Other forms
a. Starvation & Dehydration
This is what happens most of the times in most sieges of medieval castles. The attackers surround the castle, cut off their food and water supply, force them into submission. Medieval castles are not that easy to conquer, trust me.
b. Digging & Mining
This method is being used by Giovanni in the book, it involves digging holes and tunnels to under the foundation of the walls, causing the walls to lose support and eventually collapse, this method is also accompanied by sometimes fire. The method is used for example, in the siege of Caen in 1417. Although it failed.
c. Psychological Warfare
I don't think I need to elaborate about this one also. Famous examples include early Rashidun Caliphate conquest, whereby they give the defenders choices instead of forcing them into submission. The cities would therefore hand over the keys of the city, and the Rashidun would just leave them be. Other cities hearing about this, will also be more willing to hand over their keys when the Rashidun come.
d. Traitors & Breaking in From Inside
It is always said that the greatest walls always start falling from the inside. Great conquerors take use of spies & espionage, or get someone inside the city to support them and open the gates for them, or killing the defender's commander sending them into chaos, or starting a riot inside the city to disperse the defender's attention.

e. Medieval Biological Warfare.
This involves tossing solid or semi-solid remains produced by humans or animals, dead & decomposing human bodies & animal bodies and other things causing infections containing bacteria and virus into the city in large quantities. This cause a widespread disease among the defenders and can sometimes wipe all of them out within weeks if proved to be effective. Ancient people love using this kind of tactics around the Planet, I shall not list any examples here.  
*This tactic is way too gross, so I won't be writing it in my story.
 
 
That's all the late Medieval siege tactics& war engines I found, I know I have left a lot but do forgive me I am no historian or history student, just an enthusiast and fan of history. I will bring more history knowledge in the story and share with you guys.

There was a review telling that MC power growth was very ubrupt and now he kills dragon left and right. So there are needs for some explanation. 
FIRST 
HP Universe is not an ABSOLUTE power universe where you cultivate until power level 2 and now all level 1 can be slaughtered. 
HP universe is closer to how real world works and YES, I know how it sounds. You see, in real world, your quality or quantity matter much less than your variability. What I mean is "adapt to survive". So if dragon has impenetrable skin and is resistant to charms, there are ways around, like it was portrayed in the fourth book. Great wizards can be killed in their sleep, no matter how good they are, like it was portrayed by the first wielder and creator of the elder wand. So on and so forth. 
So in HP power can be considered your dueling prowess or amount of spells/charms you know, because again versatility wins over everything. 
In HP Universe strong wizards are not unkillable or immortal. Otherwise whole point with making horcruxes is useless. So killing a dragon by causing a mini nuclear reaction in its brain is pretty valid kill solution. And that's to any creature with a brain I would say. 
Is MC strong or powerful? By any means no. In his magic channeling he already reached a level of a high level genius adult wizard, but that doesn't mean he has an arsenal or experience to wield this skill. His dueling experience is non-existant. His library of mastered charms is not very big. He know a lot of powerful charms and curses, but not forbidden curses. They are forbidden for a reason after all. 
However, MC is very versatile and wields spells and skills, that make sure he can escape any situation, especially coupled with his inventory and save system(which may or may not be removed in the future). So, please don't think it's a cultivation novel or something of a similar sort. 
Universe is different, so thinking should be different as well.

Now to the explanation of the Magical Talent that MC increases with every raise in Magicka.
I gave explanations somewhere along the way, but then I thought that it's clear and deleted it. So now, I am gonna try to make a detailed explanation of what is what and what it does) 

First, WHAT is Magical Talent:
It's literally how talented you are when it comes to magic. However, talent is not equal power. Talent helps you get power faster AND defines limits till which you can grow power. 
So for example Hermione's talent is lower than Potter's talent. However, due to amount of time spent in studying Hermione is actually as strong if not stronger than Harry. 
Obviously, normal people can't increase their talent. Our MC is a very nice exception. 

Now, WHAT it AFFECTS: 
-- speed of learning magic
-- speed of mastering spells
-- maximal power of the spells and magic overall
-- efficiency of magic channeling
-- increased comprehension of magic
-- better magic source (and yes people in HP carry magic in them and don't start me on the bullshit that they only use magic from the atmosphere. If that was true, then there wouldn't have been division on muggles and wizards. And nobody would've feared Voldy as the strongest.)
-- better source = pumping spells with more magic 

And the last part, EXAMPLES:
MC in the beginning 1 talent. 
Hermione ~ 3.5 talent
Ron ~ 4.5 talent (Barely studies, but somehow keeps up with Hermione and Harry. If you tell me he has less talent, then I don't understand this world. To me personally, both Ron and Harry are examples of people who are talented but lazy to fully exploit their potential. While Hermione is the opposite. Example of extreme hard work. )
Harry ~ 5 talent
Snape ~ 7 talent (I mean if creating curses from second year in Hogwarts doesn't count as being genius, than what does? I personally think, that he is weak in HP story only because he spent most of his life wallowing over Harry's mother death. )
Voldy ~ 8 talent (and don't start me on "But how could Harry win then? and bla and bla". He was fighting Harry with destroyed piece of soul and another's wand. Topic closed)
Dumbledore ~ 7 talent (Genius? Yes. But not even close to Voldy. He wins only by experience and the wand.)
