After that, she left the clinic and went to  S&W publications. Her new book would be on the market in two days. She decided to pay a visit to Mr. collins and Kate.

Sonnet entered the building,  showed her passing card to the guards, and directly went to  Mr. Collins's office.
She knocked at the door and on receiving the approval she entered the room.

" Oh, Sonnet Sterling! You created a fine piece of art again. Didn't you? God bless Kate for bringing you here. Why are you frozen there? Don't tell me girl you don't know what's happening on Book reads? Many top book bloggers and reviewers have posted their reviews on your new book. It is one of the most anticipated books of the year. Good. Good. Hahaha," Mr.Collins exclaimed. Happiness and satisfaction were visible on his face.

But after observing Sonnet's detached expression he didn't know whether to laugh or to cry.

This girl! She had no idea what it meant for the firm.

Sonnet had no idea what had happened after she submitted her manuscript. To be honest she was not very enthusiastic about this book. She was not even aware of the fact that Kate had sent copies to several bloggers and reviewers.

 One thing she realized was people were crazy after the romance genre. All she had to do was pour romance in any book and boom it was a hit.

"Mr. Collins, I heard you were quite opposed to the ending?" Sonnet asked the old man.


Wasn't he the same man who asked for a sweet and fluffy epilogue?

"Ah, that? What can I do people love your dark romance? Though a sweet story will be something different from your regular writing."

"But that's not my cup of tea."

"Then make it your cup of tea."

"Sorry Mr. Collins, I'm a writer, not a barista."


One after one, everyone came and congratulated Sonnet. Sonnet knew that the book was not possible without all these people. 



Kate appeared and wrapped the stiff Sonnet in a big hug and murmured congratulations. She was proud of her friend. She had witnessed Sonnet's constant struggle with life. 

And seeing her progress, she was proud as a mother.


Sonnet smiled softly at her and spoke shocking every present over there.

Sonnet never threw parties. Heck, she never even bothered to attend any gathering. Kate touched her forehead with her hand to check if she had any fever. The temperature was not abnormal. She couldn't help but ask, "Are you okay baby Sona?"

That dried plant was here for a month and nobody threw it out but what's strange was that it had a green leaf and looked like it was growing again.


 Sonnet was left stunned. She didn't know if it was a coincidence or what. Dr. Jones's words rang in her mind. She left the building and hailed a cab and got away.


"What should I say, then? I'm prepared to give it one star." 
"I think it's alright. Two monsters at the beginning deal higher damage. Just dodge them and kill them—it's quite simple. You're giving the game one star because of that? Why aren't you reflecting on your own lousy skills?"

If the boss had given the fake reviewers a clear direction—such as to mindlessly praise or criticize the game, the fake reviewers would have been able to get the job done without much objection. 
Nobody would stand up to fight the instructions. After all, every fake reviewer was professional. 
Yet, the boss did not give them clear instructions on what to comment. 
That was why people were discussing the game in the group. They had differing opinions, which resulted in internal conflict.
The administrator had to step up and ban those people from speaking. What's more, he had to threaten to kick people out and forbid them from ever working as a fake reviewer again if they started picking fights. It was only then that they regained control over the situation. 
Hu Xiao read everyone's comments and realized that most people were criticizing the game. 
Many people had low-quality hardware that caused the game to lag horribly. Naturally, their first impression of the game would suffer if their gaming experience was lousy. 
Others were similar to Hu Xiao; there was no problem with their hardware, but they had been tortured by beasts shortly after entering the game. Of course, they began to dislike the game as well.
However, a minority in the group thought the game was alright.

The fake reviewers went full steam ahead with their tasks. They kept sharing posts about Repent and be Saved on various platforms. One group kept posting negative comments while another group kept giving the game five stars on every review site. 
They moved the catfight from the group to various other websites and forums, making sure to amp up their resilience and determination. The fight was so intense that neither side seemed to be winning. 
As he observed these developments, Hu Xiao could not help but bury his head in his hands. For some reason, he felt like something was amiss. 
"This is my first time encountering a situation like that. It's like two parties on opposite sides had hired the same group of fake reviewers…
"But it doesn't matter. In any case, I've already done what I could according to the boss' request.

From what I've been seeing, there are multiple books on this site with manipulated reviews. Bad reviews have been deleted and thus the books themselves appear better. Although I can understand that a review made based on ~10 chapters of a book with over 1,000 chapters may not be accurate, it is still an opinion. 

People keep on saying that authors are deleting reviews, but as far as I can tell, I do not have that ability (it might also just be because I'm not partnered). Maybe those reviews are being reported as inaccurate by fans (yeah probably not). 

The only thing that deleting reviews does is angering the reviewers. On a site like Webnovel, where everyone can review a book an almost infinite number of times, it's just a matter of time before such a book is flooded with bad reviews. 

Advice for Webnovel, don't reward reviews with xp and limit the amount of reviews per book. A review is something that should be taken seriously and I find it highly unlikely that anyone would be willing to read a new book every single day (at least for an extended period of time).

The Phantom School has been a longer and much deeper story than I have imagined when I started writing this book. At most points, I let my mind go along with the flow of the story despite all the twists; perhaps this is how the twists happened. Who knows?

Like the first book, I tried to preserve the balance between mystery and violence/action in a relatively homogeneous way; avoiding turning the story into either Sherlock Holmes or a Japanese gory horror movie.

As you can understand, I didn't always answer all the questions and solved all mysteries; and this one was on purpose. Because, as a reader, I always like it when the writers leave some space for the readers to speculate and create theories about. So, that's sort of what I tried to do. I might not have reached some of my goals, but it is okay, because I'm happy with the world and the story I created.
