Because of their race, when he grows over time he befriends the races and fights for their rights, even if they don’t want them, because no one deserves to die because of a physical features.

Will arrived at Gen-Sys and saw another chimpanzee in the experiment table.
Will: "What's going on here? We have to analyze Koba blood test first, where is Franklin, he should know this".
Tester: "We were told to this and Franklin has been sick for two days".
Will: "Who allowed you to this?".
"It was me" said Steven while walking towards Will, "We tried it on one subject and that subject is outstanding".
Will: "You can't do this, we don't know if there is any risk to this or any problem with ALZ-113"
Steven came to Will put his hands on his shoulders and said: "The drug works, Will. Tell him, Linda.
Linda: "For starters he..." Without waiting for her to finish Will started walking away and getting the chimpanzee inside the cage.
Will: "We do not know what are we dealing with here" 
Steven: "We know exactly what we are dealing with, give us a minute" said while stopping with Will, "we are dealing with a drug that is worth more than anything, all the drugs that are being made nothing in front of this one and I know you used your father for an experiment I could finish your career with one word.
Will: "Spare me the trouble, I quit"
Steven: "You know even without you we will continue…"
While Steven and Will discussed, on Will house entrance Robert was knocking the door.
Robert: "It is me Will, Robert Franklin, open the door" as he saw no one answering he tried going through the back door but before he could knock more, he was caught by a hand.
Douglas: "Hey, what are you doing?".
Robert was just about to answer and he vomited blood all over Robert.

  Well, like I said before, I am just an ordinary young man who works as a teacher for local junior high in my region. I am not rich neither as handsome as movie actor, but I have balance in my height and weight.
My profession require me to have many acquaintance, and I do. I have some friends but not too close for me to calling them as my best friends, all this time I used to life my live that way and I fine about that.
I live with my grandma since I was a baby. My dad died long time ago and my mom, I don't know she is gone and I never heard things about her. My grandpa is like my mom, I never heard about him.
That's the reason I'm not dealing with any love relationship, I am not willing inherit family depravity to any girl in this planet earth. For me, love is complicated reaction in your brain that lead a desire either to have sex or possess each other. As long as I stand in this world I learn that love is not everlasting theory that will stuck with you for your entire life time, love is fundamental. There are so many book and also biography story talking about that and each verse has their own definition. but in the end, it's just matter of perspective.
Back to my grandma, knowing that she had struggle in her young age, raising my dad alone. Real alone, her stereotype family was abandon her because of her relationship with black guy. Young little girl decide to choose love over family. The sweet drama not ending well when the guy who suppose to be my grandpa left her for another young girl. Tragic. But not that long. My dad come to my grandma life and everything was good until I am born.
My grandma won't tell story why my mom left and tragedy that cause my dad died. That's oke, I am living well without them. Realize that my grandma has to experience two times bitter pill on her life, one when she raised my dad alone and second she has to raised me all alone again.
Although my grandma is obedient servant, she need to once again dealing with this unfair destiny. She has Alzheimer's.
She is the only person I know that has link with me, I respect her and love her from the bottom of my heart. So I dealing to taking care of her by myself instead of sending her to nursing home, I also hired a nurse to help me with grandma while I need to work.
I live in same neighborhood since I was 1 year old. And since that time, all my childhood friends already moved to living on their own and their parents will go to tropic island or taking world tour for enjoy their retirement. When one occupant move, they always replace for the new one. That's my neighbor hood constantly move. Except me and the old women next door. She already there even when I haven't yet moving here.
The woman next door has a son. His name is Jerry Bertson, Jerry is 35 years old. Ya, Jerry is a man who might be already life on his own if he hasn't no crash back 16 years ago. I do not know the detail story about his accident, but the accident was fatal and end with four times brain surgery. Jerry might be still alive, but never able to taste his life with his brain condition before he takes the surgery.
No matter how advanced medical science is and how genius the doctor is dealing with Jerry's head injury, they can't cure Jerry's brain from the damage.
So, Jerry might be seem physically healthy. But he is unable to create a new memory or keep it for more then 4 minutes. So Jerry always living in the past 19 years from now.
Back to years ago before his accident, Jerry is nice young man who likes to gardening. So, when I am back from elementary school or home after playing outside, he always in his yard watering his plants and ask me the same question "Hey Gray, Find something good today?"
And that things spin into my daily routine. Jerry always there, watering all his dying plants and asking me the same question over and over again. For first two years after the accident, when he asking me that question, I always answer him with different words based on what I experience. But then I realize, and smiling to myself that I always thinking out loud searching the good things on my day and tell it to Jerry. Then, when he asking me that question, I just said "Yea Jerry, I meet you" and he just smiling while I enter the house.
People out there might be able to create and keep the new memories for their self or other people. But they actually giving each other pressure too. Jerry is not a perfect guy like me. In his eyes I am just an elementary school boy and he just a teenager that loves gardening. And we repeat the same question and answer all over again, years long. But we finding an enjoyment there with no pressure.
      Alzheimer is another case that haven't found the cure. And it's getting worse everyday. My grandma used to cook meal for me everyday and we always had small conversation in the dining table talking about anything.
Since my grandma was diagnose with Alzheimer, our communication is hampered. She never cook a meal for me again, and I getting used to heard her scream in the middle of our conversation cause it could be sometimes that she can't recognize me or recognize me as someone else.
My love for her is never change but her's for me maybe fade.
I like biography book, and I usually read that book when the night is young. But this time, I'm not willing to do that. Instead of reading a book, I choose to sit on the bench looking in any direction.
In the middle of my thoughts, Sarah came and calling my name.
Sarah is Jerry's mother she is around sixty years if I guess.
I looking at her and smiling with a little force
"Hei Sarah"
"What are you doing Grey?" She ask me while walk passing the fence and come to my yard joining me on the bench
"I don't know. I'm just thinking"
She looking forward into the dark sky "About what?"
I am smiling crazily "I don't know... It's just my wild imagination"
She chuckled "I haven't heard a word 'wild' again since Jerry had surgery"
"Really?"
Sarah's memories flew to the past "Ya, 'Wild' is Jerry favorite word. Jerry is nice boy, he obsessed to be a bad boy and joining motorcycle club just for show off, but all he do just watering the plans, he ask me 'mom what if I go wild' 'go wild' 'real wild' 'wild'"
Tears almost came off from her's eyes
"Speaking about Jerry, what is he doing now?" I am just curious
Sarah force a smile on her face "He is switching TV channel try to find an old show that no longer airing now"
I am signing "I though that we has the same fate"
Sarah wiped her tears "Oh ya?"
"We stuck with people we love" I said Inelegantly
"Positively or negatively" She asking me
I am hesitate "I don't know" ,"Sarah, if I tell you what's on my mind please don't offend"
She is nodding
"Maybe if we, I am not born in this world, I don't need to dealing with all this shit and maybe if Jerry haven't dealing with that accident, you and him not stuck in this reality and neither you and me, we don't need to facing this painful story that keep on repeat" Me speaking what's on my mind
Sarah smiling at me, peaceful smile.
She lend her palm on my face, stroking.
"Listen son. We cannot regret all the things that already happen. And you know? This story keep on repeat because it is our decision to keep it continue dear. I know your grandma not longer remember all the things she not suppose to forget, but that was not her decision. The same thing happen to me, I have dealing with Jerry who living in past for years. It's not what he wants, he never wanted to live the same day for 16 years. But I do it for him. Now, I ask you a question. You always able to change your life or live, if it burden you, you always had choices to left. And if your grandma burden you, you can always able to left her, sending her to nursing house?"
I shook my head quickly
Sarah hand's stroked my head
"So don't take it as your burden, take it slow and enjoy the moment. I know it hard sometimes, let it be and let the positive though lead you. All you need is follow the flow play the role that's in your grandma head. That's fun.  Dear, we just a speck of dust in this universe. Why don't we play our role once in while before we decide to become a director or producer? Son, if your 'if' able to become reality, there is no guarantee that will be living a better life or cheering a happier situation than this. Life is full of trick covered by lies, we need to discover even in the worst situation ever"

I'm unsurprised at the early knock on my door. I quickly dress in military pants and a sky-blue T-shirt making me better prepared for what's coming today. I would throw the darned short skirt and see-through blouse away if questions wouldn't be asked. Officer Daniels's displeasure at waiting at my door has his lips pressed into a thin, unpleasant line. I'm also realizing he's older than he appeared at first. His snotty disposition brings his true age of around thirty to the forefront, pimply face aside. He isn't my friend.
"The Shadow Warrior's leader refuses to deal with anyone but you," Daniels says. "The president wishes you to solve the matter immediately."
It's so hard not to snap my heels together and salute his idiocy. Instead, I scrunch my nose trying to act scared and concerned at the same time. "Oh dear, this isn't good," I say, wringing my hands for added effect. Okay that may be laying it on a bit thick. "I know I've been living with them, but they still make me nervous. It's their size." I put my arms around my stomach and shiver, adding a brave smile to complete my act. "I'll do what I can," I add with another long shiver. Who knew my college acting classes would come in handy after most of the world was annihilated?
Labyrinth also played his part to perfection. If I'm taken out of the loop, his job is to insist on dealing with me alone. King brought one of his human men from Cuba. His job is to carry messages between King and Labyrinth. As human, he should be able to live on the outskirts of the city with other humans who stay near for protection.
President Barnes is not waiting for me when I arrive at the Shadow Warrior quarters, it's General Smyth. He and my father weren't exactly friends and it caused trouble in my father's career. Smyth is in his late sixties, clean shaven, with green eyes that see too much, sports a round face from eating good food that he isn't inclined to share with his troops, and his face features a bulbous nose that desperately needs hairs plucked from it. He has trouble keeping his dislike of me hidden. Oh goodie. I also don't miss the fact that twenty heavily armed soldiers are standing by to keep the Shadow Warriors "safe." If that isn't a joke, I don't know what is. Smyth is even a bigger idiot than I thought him if he thinks I'm falling for his crap. 
"Miss Church," the general says when I approach. I notice he doesn't even give me the respect of the "Ms." title.
"General, so good to see you again," I lie through my teeth. The last time I saw him was at my father's funeral and he had trouble keeping the glee off his face. I just may hate the man.
Kill.
Oh, how I wish.
The general is done with small talk. "The Shadow Warrior in charge is being difficult and refuses to deal with my authority. Straighten this out so I can do my job without interference," he all but spits.
He isn't happy that I'm causing the "interference" and needed to be brought in to handle this delicate situation. I fight like crazy not to grin and only manage it by biting down on my tongue until I bleed. "I'll do what I can, General, but the Warriors don't trust those they dealt with after the war and you could be the problem." There take that you slimy strand of unplucked nose hair.
His expression says it all and I'm actually surprised when the lightning bolt he's hoping for doesn't come from above and strike me dead. He also doesn't bother answering. Opening the door in front of us, he leads me into the Shadow Warrior quarters. Military-style bunk beds line the walls with an aisle down the center. There appears to be bathrooms at the back of the room and an open door on the right shows an area with tables and chairs. For a prison, it could be worse.
Labyrinth approaches and actually looks me in the eye, which he hasn't done since King and I mated. I force Ms. Beast to calm down and hold his gaze. "Defense Secretary Church, thank you for coming. There seems to be a problem with who's in charge. We were under the impression it would be you. Has that changed?"
I really needed the president here for this. Pulling out the actress in me, I fidget from one foot to the other appearing weak and indecisive. "There's been a misunderstanding, I think. It seems my title was honorary and given only for additional clout in dealing with your kind." Yes, I cringe at that. Labyrinth knows what to expect, though, so I continue. "The president informed me I'm just plain Ms. Church now." I cast an eye at the general and then look back at Labyrinth and wink. "You can trust the general." I add a large smile to coax him to do just that. "He's here to make sure you're comfortable," I say knowing Labyrinth understands every word I've said is a lie.
It's a slam at the general as far as the "comfort" comment goes. His idea of comfort for the Shadow Warriors would be a mass grave. Getting under his skin gives me a sense of satisfaction and I fight even harder to contain that grin.
"Men, attention," Labyrinth says. One hundred Shadow Warriors doing various things come to attention. He turns to the general. "My orders from my commander are to deal only with Secretary of Defense Church. Without her at the helm, we are to return immediately to our island."
The general steps forward with his face twisting into a sneer. "That would be a mistake," he threatens.
Labyrinth takes another step in the general's direction, putting them almost nose to nose or at least they would be if the general grew a foot. "The mistake is dealing with those who betrayed us in the past. Defense Secretary Church convinced King that it was to our benefit to help humans even after your betrayal. I didn't agree, but here I am. Do you plan on stopping us from leaving?"
"That will be completely unnecessary," President Barnes assures from behind us. I have no idea how long he's been there. Long enough obviously. "We have no problem with Defense Secretary Church being your liaison, it's why we sent her to negotiate with your leader to begin with. We have the utmost respect for her, as should you."
Labyrinth nods regally and I almost burst out laughing. Now who's laying it on thick?
"General, may I have a word with you?" the president asks.
The two men leave the room and walk back into the hall. Several guards stay behind keeping me from having a private word with Labyrinth. When President Barnes returns, the general isn't with him.
"Defense Secretary Church will be at your disposal for any needs you have. The door guards will notify her at your request. She will also be in all meetings with me and will keep you up-to-date on the proximity of hellhounds. Do you have needs you would like me to consider immediately?"
This means Labyrinth isn't invited to those meetings. He shows no displeasure. "Thank you, Mr. President. We would like to assess your perimeter and have someone show us to the latest hellhound sightings. I will give any concerns or defense plans we come up with to Defense Secretary Church."
"Of course." He turns to one of the guards. "Have the Shadow Warriors escorted to the perimeter where the last hellhounds were sighted." He looks back at Labyrinth. "Tomorrow is soon enough to examine the defenses we have in place." He shakes his hand with no distaste showing and I must remember he called them savages only yesterday. The man is truly evil. He shakes my hand with a warm smile that doesn't meet his eyes and leaves.
Officer Daniels walks to me and waves toward the door. I guess they want me gone from the Warrior's quarters. I'm escorted to breakfast in the same cafeteria I used when I worked in analytics. My friends aren't here. Checking the large windup clock on the wall, I realize they would have finished breakfast an hour earlier and they're already hard at work. Today's breakfast is oats that have seen their sell-by date come and go a few years before and wonder of wonders a piece of dry toast. Usually it's one or the other. Someone with a wee bit of clout must have complained.
To think the president and his generals eat healthy is about as irritating as I can handle while trying to down the almost inedible food. The disgust I feel at him leaving his battle soldiers to suffer and nearly starve to death burns me from the inside out.
I eat without looking or talking to anyone else around me. When I worked in analytics we ate in shifts. By remaining alone, I continue to be the weird shy girl for Officer Daniels's benefit. I take another bite of oatmeal and wonder what the president told General Smyth. Oh to be a fly on the wall for that conversation.
Now that I'm the official liaison between humans and Shadow Warriors, my thoughts turn to King.

Dealing with a raging Asha was not the easiest thing to do. Any one of us can confirm that for you, she snaps at every little thing. My silly friends had left me with her in the office when they realized just what the extent of her pistosity was. EXTREME, in case you were wondering.
I waited hesitantly in front of my table, folding and opening my hands as I struggled to control the itch I had to hold her. That might not end well especially now that she's started pacing and muttering gibberish.
I still have no idea what happened with Maya and I asked Jesse to find out for me so I know exactly what I'm dealing with here. So far, I'm yet to get any response positive or negative, and it was starting to feed my frustration with being this helpless.
"Asha", I said softly to get her attention. She didn't stop, didn't even act like her name was called. "Asha", I tried again, no response. Baby, I said gently and she suddenly snapped to a stop so fast, I'm sure she must be feeling the whiplash.
"What did you just call me?" She asked dreadfully. Don't know why but I was suddenly nervous to repeat myself. When she didn't get a reply quickly enough she moved three steps towards me leaving a very small distance of two feet between us as she repeated her question.
"I asked a question, what did you just call me?" "Baby", I replied in a whisper. Before she could give me a fitting response like the look on her face currently suggested, I heard Jesse's voice in my mind. "Whatever you do, please don't mention anything about her dad". 
"What do you mean?" I asked in confusion. "Why would I ever do that when I know that's part of the reason she's so pissed in the first place". "Well, I don't know", he replied carelessly. "But whatever it is don't bring him up or say anything that might trigger memories of her encounter with him".
"Things like what? And what encounter?" I asked curiously. Jesse huffed, literally in my head, "Encounter, you need to see for yourself but avoid saying things like daddy, parents, baby, mama, that last one I'm not so sure of but just any words that remind…" 
"Hold up", I cut him off. "Did you just say baby?" I asked carefully. "Yes I said baby", he replied quickly. "That's what her father called her when he spoke to her earlier today and might I add he really abused the word so I would avoid it if I were you". "Too late for that", I replied as I zoned out of my mind to focus on her, now she was extra pissed.
Before she could launch into her tirade or try and attack me I tried explaining my way out of the said probable situation. It's not like I was afraid of her but I didn't want to hurt her while trying to fend off her attacks, pissed or not she was still my mate and only human at the moment.
"Asha, I'm really sorry", I apologized with both hands in the air as a sign of peace. "I don't know the full details but I promise I wasn't trying to make things worse okay. I just want you to calm down and talk to me".
Taking note of her eyes, I finally realized she wasn't listening. Her eyes were on fire, whatever had been brewing before erupted into flames when I called her baby and now she was completely lost to her rage. I knew I had to act fast.
Before I could move she did. She lunged for me without hesitation and went straight for my throat. I only managed to dodge by a hair's breadth. Without missing a beat she turned back and faced me in full-on attack mode. Boy, this just got real.
Like a scene from an action movie, we went through a series of heavy punches and kicks on her part and a lot of blocks on my part. I didn't want to hurt her but from the way things were going, that might be the only way to bring her out of it.
She was fast and nimble on her feet, it was almost amazing to watch if I wasn't the one on the receiving end of it. She threw a combination of punches and hooks always aiming for my neck and if that didn't go through she'd reply with a high kick or a roundhouse.
Finally, she got in with one of her kicks and threw me against the door. That was my wake-up call. Before I could get up to my feet she sent another kick to my stomach, one-two and another.
As she bent down to straddle me and wrap her hands around my neck, I grabbed both hands and threw her off me, quickly turning to straddle her. She fought against me hard, throwing her legs which I quickly subdued with my weight. She tried head-butting me, I dodged that too and left her struggling and huffing in frustrated annoyance.
I couldn't let myself feel bad enough to let her off until I knew she was out of her rage. My stomach still hurt where she kicked and that was the only stern reminder I needed to see this through.
We remained like that for minutes while she continued thrashing beneath me which made me impulsively make another decision I prayed would work out. She was so consumed in her feelings she didn't realize what I was up to until I was practically in her face and by then it was too close to head butt me or try anything else, then I kissed her.
She tried fighting against me, the keyword being tried. With her hands restrained in mine, I had limited options to work with but I was tired of being on the receiving end of her fury which prompted me to pour everything I felt into the kiss.
She struggled but I knew she was going to lose. I didn't let go of her lips for a second, drowning her in every feeling running through my veins. She responded with the same fire, biting my lips every chance she got until finally she moaned and weakened beneath me.
I finally let go of her hands to run my hand through her hair as the other caressed her neck and brought her even closer to me. Goddess, she drives me insane, from one sick extreme to the other.
We remained locked to each other only stopping to catch our breaths and then continue. It's like I couldn't get enough of her and neither could she get enough of me, if the way she held on to me is any indication. 
She ran her hands through my hair driving me fucking crazy while her other hand moved shakily in search of mine and I took my hand from her hair to link it with hers. She held on to my hand tightly as she shook beneath me and I knew she was finally out of it.
I broke off the kiss to look her in the eyes and saw tears in her eyes. I could tell from the look on her face she was feeling bad and sorry. I hugged her to me tightly as I turned on the floor with her to have our places reversed. 
Now she laid on top of me engulfed in my arms, her head on my chest as she silently cried and I calmed her down. It was hard to imagine that we had been stuck on the floor this whole time, but it was nothing but the truth. 
It was quiet for a while, no one saying a word just listening to each other breath and feeling our hearts beating against each other until she said so softly I almost missed it, "I'm sorry Xander".
"No need to be", I said calmly. "But I think we'll be sorry if we remain in this position any longer", I added jokingly. She jumped off me at that, well tried to, she was still wrapped in my unyielding arms.
"I was just joking", I told her humorously. "No need to be so jumpy okay". She nodded on my chest then said, "Okay". "But you and I do need to get up and leave this place so we can both rest, it's been a lovely start to a day don't you think?" I stated calmly. She gave another agreeable nod. "Good".
I got up with her and hugged her to my side as I took in her weary state, she looked completely exhausted. I led her out of the office and to my room without questions where I helped her onto the bed and laid down beside her.
She didn't argue and only turned to embrace me when I laid in bed with her. "Xander, I'm scared", she whispered after a few seconds of silence. I didn't know what to say to that because even I didn't know exactly what we were dealing with here but I wanted to reassure her all the same.
 "It's okay", I found myself saying. "I just want you to never forget inspite of the fear, you are not alone. I am here with you". "I'm sorry I let him get under my skin like that", she said apologetically. "I just couldn't stand it and I tried calming down Xander, it didn't work".
"I can understand why", I replied thoughtfully. "And I've told you, you don't need to apologize. If anything I should be apologizing to you, it's my fault you weren't prepared enough to deal with your rage". "Is that like a normal thing?" She asked curiously. 
"It is, for people like us", I told her carefully. "If you don't know how to control your rage as a lycan or werewolf it can be catastrophic. Our inner animal thrives on that bloodlust and it sometimes gives them enough room to overpower us in the driver's seat of our own body which can lead to very terrible happenings".
"What can I do to fix it?" She asked innocuously. "I'll help you work on that from now on. We don't have a lot of time, do we?" I asked carefully. "No we don't", she said sadly. "I don't know when but he promised he'd be back soon so I guess we should begin preparing ourselves".
"That's okay", I replied firmly. "We'll be ready for him", I said strongly in hopes that my words were convincing enough to put her fears to rest for now. "Xander", she whispered. "Yeah", I replied. She moved away from me to create a little distance between us.
She locked eyes with me and gave me a small smile just like she did earlier this morning. "I love you, Xander", she said softly. My heart skipped a few beats at her words and I couldn't help myself from smiling. The lycan in me was beyond ecstatic. She finally said the words back.
I always knew she felt strongly about me but never hearing the words out loud could leave one with doubts but now I was soaring in the clouds. 
"I know waiting for me is one way you've tried to show me your love and I'm really sorry I don't take it into cognizance a lot of times but I just want you to know that I love you and I'm happy you're my mate, lucky even. I want more with you Xander, and as angry as I was earlier in your office I meant every word I said, I'm ready to take the next step with you, if you'll still have me".
"Nothing could ever make me deny you", I told her honestly as I caressed her face with my hand. "Waiting is never hard when I know I have a lifetime with you. I love you Asha".
She smiled brightly at me and I swear somewhere behind her I saw a halo. "Then I want you to take me Xander", she said boldly. "Take me and make me yours in every sense of the word". "Nothing would please me more".

As Jack began practicing, however, he began to get a sense of how his powers worked.

Imagining something provided the general framework for how the spell should in theory play out, but the spell trigger word he used is what determined the actual final result, regardless of what he was imagining. So if he imagined creating fire in the shape of a tornado, but used the variation of the trigger word that stood for "fireball", he would cast a fireball instead. Which explained why he shrank when he intended to get larger when dealing with the goblins. What was less clear to him was why the trigger word determined the type of spell cast, or why the wrong spell trigger word popped in his head in the first place.

Eleanor said that the best she could figure, his spell words probably worked very similar to a wizard's, where a spell trigger was actually a complex command that described the spell's magic school or elemental sphere, the manifestation of the spell's magic, the spell's target, duration, and so on.

Which meant, she speculated, imagining things would cause the spell trigger word components to appear in his mind, and by saying them aloud in the correct order, he would generate the desired result. But if he said the parts in the wrong order, or used a wrong component piece, he would generate different results from what he intended, such as using a different element, or, in his previous case, shrinking himself instead of growing giant as he had planned.

"But how on earth am I supposed to know which part of a spell trigger counts for each component of the spell?" Jack asked, perplexed.

"I guess you're just going to have to experiment with slightly different spells and see which component parts change to know what does what" Eleanor said, shrugging.

That sounded incredibly tedious, but Jack was willing to give it a shot if that's what it took. With Eleanor's help and occasional moment of "encouragement", he slowly began to map out the terminology of his magic, nailing down piece by tiny piece what each word fragment did, and learning how they affected each other when placed together.

After a few weeks, he had figured out enough parts to create elemental projections of all kinds, change his body shape, size, and appearance, grant himself increased physical attributes, fly, conjure basic objects, and change materials from one kind of thing to another. 

As he progressed, he began experimenting further, but found the level of his ability to manipulate the world was limited in some ways. He could not transmute or create living matter, only move it from one place to another. He could not affect the flow of time, only slow down or speed up the rate others moved within it. He couldn't seem to affect the minds or free will of other beings, either, apparently. When he imagined trying to do these kinds of things, he was met with an immovable black wall in his brain that made imagining casting such spells in order to prompt a trigger word impossible, and the few times he tried to combine what component fragments he knew in order to hopefully generate these effects, either nothing happened, or, worse, something would backfire spectacularly. 

On one particular occasion, Eleanor had to rescue him when he managed to unintentionally turn himself into a duck during one of these attempts. He didn't think any of the girls or Simon were ever going to stop laughing or let him live that one down. He knew for sure Frumpkin wouldn't, as he began referring to Jack as Duck Boy from that moment onwards.
