Three black werecat orphan brothers are trying their best to find a home when they are finally adopted. Everything goes great with their new family until tragedy strikes and they are left with an unexpected guardian.

This story is about an average high school boy with an average lifestyle who likes to read novels especially fantasy ones and was transferred to another world along with his classmates from his school.

As they were transferred our protagonist, John Kaiser, was the sole student among his classmates who were left behind, leaving him all alone in their classroom.

As he was wondering what happened to the others, he remembered one of the novels he had read. It was a story of a fantasy world, where a king of a human kingdom summons heroes from another world to save their world from the demon king, a typical Isekai (Another World)  fantasy novel.

Our protagonist, John Kaiser, started to contemplate and question 'why?' why was he the only one not summoned?

And as his questions go crazy, a light emerges from the place where he was sitting.

Is this the start of our protagonist's fantasy adventure as a hero? Or will he live the same life again as an average person even in another world?

It is not a story in itself, but an idea for a story. I created a context that looks like a prologue just to demonstrate how it is possible to create a good history of this idea.

-Klaus Lamberdt, Provincia's strongest knight, introduced himself to Siegfried and Azure. Azure paid no attention to Klaus, instead preferring to sleep, and Klaus obeyed her wishes. After leaving the Inn, Klaus and Jurgen discussed with Siegfried the possibility of there being others like him in Provincia, which came as news to Siegfried. Furthermore, Klaus Lamberdt requested a duel with Siegfried in order to experience his power first-hand...~

-Klaus Lamberdt, an unstoppable force. Many do-gooders admired him, and many villains feared him. He is known as Provincia's strongest knight, his power alone exceeding that of an entire army plus some. To be spoken to by him was an honor, but to be asked to duel him was an even higher honor.~
-By requesting to duel Siegfried, Klaus confirmed that he viewed Siegfried as a worthy opponent, something he has only ever done with a select few people, including Hiroshi, whom he bested an estimated 200 times in a row in battle before Hiroshi's unfortunate death at the hands of Hasher.~
-Siegfried gazed into the eyes of Klaus, and his heart began to race. He was unsure if he would even be able to call upon Camriel, considering only a few hours had passed since their last interaction. Before proceeding, Siegfried decided to call upon Camriel.~
Siegfried: "Camriel, are you there? I need to ask you a question."
[Camriel]: "I am here, Siegfried. What is it you need to ask?"
-Assuming Camriel was still recovering from her excessive mana output through Siegfried's body, Siegfried prepared himself for a negative response. However, he asked his question anyway.~
Siegfried: "Do you think you could pump me full of some more of your power? Klaus wants to experience it, and he is requesting to duel me."
[Camriel]: "Siegfried-kun, remember what I told you before I brought you here? There are two issues currently, first, you can only call upon me when your life is in danger, and second, I've got barely any mana to spare! You're going to have to wait a few days before you can use me again."
-Disappointed, Siegfried accepted Camriel's response. There was nothing he could do to fuse with her for at least another 4 days or so, and even if he waited that long, that would be the bare minimum, and her powers would be significantly reduced. ~
-Klaus was eagerly staring at Siegfried, still awaiting his response. His sword continued to glow with the ever-present luminous colors. It captivated Siegfried, he couldn't take his eyes off of the spectacle.~
Klaus: "So, what's it going to be, Siegfried? Can you call upon the goddess?"
Siegfried: "Unfortunately, I can only use her powers when my life is in danger. Beyond that, I basically used up all of her power when fighting Rigel, so I think our duel is going to have to wait until another time..."
-Klaus was disappointed, but understanding. Normally, one is forbidden from refusing a duel according to the Knight's Code, however, Siegfried had a valid reason, and considering the skill difference between them was overwhelming, Klaus had no choice but to accept Siegfried's refusal.~
Klaus: "That's understandable, Siegfried. I'm unaware of how your abilities work, so I will have to take your word for it. If there comes a time where we can duel, please, contact me, and I will accept."
Siegfried: "That sounds like a plan, Klaus! I'll be in contact if I have some spare time, and some spare goddess! Hah hah."
-Klaus resheathed his sword and bowed toward Siegfried. When he stood up, he took a seat across from Siegfried. They were both sitting, looking out the window. Jurgen was in the back of the shop preparing to melt down metal.~
Klaus: "So, what are your plans now? You defeated Rigel, and I heard from my father that you had a curse removed, which is great news!"
Siegfried: "Well, Azure-san and I were going to return to Formai so that she could teach me magic, as I'm powerless without the goddess' ability as of now."
Klaus: "Interesting. Well, have you discovered your natural affinity yet? Every adventurer, regardless of age, has a specific element that they are naturally connected to. Considering you were sent here by a goddess, I'd be willing to be that she hooked you up with a nice affinity."
Siegfried: "Well, to be honest, I have no idea which element I'm naturally connected to. I only know one spell as of now, and it's Sphaera. I learned it from a spell tome that Azure's father gave me in Formai."
Klaus: "I see... perhaps we could figure out your natural affinity then, Siegfried? If you want to, I can take you outside, and have you test out a few spells that can be used to figure out your affinity."
-When one is initially attempting to figure out their magical affinity, they might try a sample of basic spells out. These spells will take minimal effort, and minimal mana, but produce results if their element connects to the user's affinity.~
-By casting these spells, one is easily able to figure out which type of magic comes easiest to them and proceed to specialize in that specific element. Siegfried had yet to figure out his natural magical affinity.~
Siegfried: "Perhaps we could try."
Klaus: "Follow me, Siegfried."
-Klaus led Siegfried outside and walked him over to an open field where they could test out magic safely. When they got there, Klaus decided to demonstrate four basic spells to Siegfried that he could use to decipher his affinity.~
Klaus: "I think this field should be safe enough to practice magic without causing harm to anything. Considering we will be testing out fire magic as part of this experiment, I wanted to get as far away from buildings as I could."
Siegfried: "That's probably a good idea. Considering I've never tried fire magic before, I'd hate to accidentally burn something down..."
Klaus: "Okay, Siegfried. We are going to try out four basic spells. These spells will be used to help decipher your natural affinity. I will demonstrate these spells first, and then I will have you attempt them on your own. Here, you can borrow my wand to cast these spells. It's not the most compatible tool for you, but it should do the trick."
-Klaus handed over his wand to Siegfried. Despite being quite possibly the most powerful person in Provincia, even Klaus started from somewhere, and this wand was proof of his efforts. It was a wand fashioned out of a Dragon Scale. Klaus was naturally gifted with fire magic when he was young.~
-Upon holding the wand, Siegfried could feel a great weight apply itself to his shoulders, almost as if the wand was deeming him unworthy of wielding it. However, the longer he held it, the more the effects subsided, and the wand became wieldable.~
Siegfried: "Well, without a wand, how will you be able to demonstrate these spells?"
Klaus: "Hah! I haven't used that wand in years! I've been casting spells from my sword since I became the leader of the League of Knights. My sword has quite literally become a part of me, I cannot function without it being close to me."
-Despite being incredibly powerful, Klaus Lamberdt did have a single, devastating drawback. If he were to ever lose or destroy his sword, he would become powerless. Klaus' sword is an extension of his own body, and losing it would be the equivalent of chopping off one of his arms.~
Siegfried: "I see... well then, let's see some of these basic spells! I'm ready to figure out which type of magic I'll be naturally gifted in!"
-Klaus has mastered every type of magic over his many years as a knight.~
Klaus: 'Watch closely, Siegfried. We are going to try out these four spells. I will demonstrate them first, of course, and then it will be your turn to attempt to replicate them. Here goes the first spell, it's an air spell."
-Klaus lifted his hand into the air and took a deep breath. Controlled breathing is an important exercise when it comes to casting air spells. Breathing is the body's natural way of using air, and air spells can channel this air into many different forms.~
-When Klaus opened his eyes, he moved his hand in a waving motion, and uttered a word, before thrusting his hand forward, palm out. It was as if he was striking the air.~
Klaus: "Caeli!"
-Caeli is a spell that creates a simple gust of air from your wand, or in Klaus's case, his hand. It is a basic air spell and is commonly used by air mages either in a battle to knock over their opponent, or by working-class air mages to supply power to windmills and other air-powered sources.~
-A gust of air expelled itself from Klaus's hand and proceeded to blow the grass around him in a single direction, before eventually dissipating into the atmosphere.~
Klaus: "Okay, think you understand, Siegfried? Now it's your turn to try it out. Remember, take a deep breath before attempting to cast any spell, it will help you maintain your focus, and increase the spell's power. Caeli."
-Siegfried repeated what Klaus had done. He moved his wand up, took a deep breath, and began to move his wand in the same waving motion that Klaus had demonstrated with his hand. He then uttered the word.~
Siegfried: "Caeli!"
. . . . . . .
-Nothing. Not even a simple gust of air came out of Siegfried's wand. Despite almost perfectly replicating what Klaus had done, no air magic was produced. Klaus looked at Siegfried, and closed his eyes.~
Klaus: "No worries Siegfried. If air magic isn't your natural affinity, then perhaps one of the other three elements is. Let's try out water next, shall we?"
Klaus: "This is a basic water spell known simply as "Aqua". It creates a large ball of water on the tip of your wand, and from there, you can apply properties to it to use it in any way that you wish, either applying the water to something, or shooting it from your wand."
-Klaus lifted his hand once more, and held it, palm up to the sky. He clenched his fist, and then opened it again to relax his muscles. He took another breath, and cast the spell.~
Klaus: "Aqua!"
-Suddenly, a large ball of water began to form on Klaus's hand. When it was of an acceptable size, Klaus threw his hand into the air, and the ball of water shot itself into the sky. When it fell, Klaus punched it, and the ball of water flung itself across the field, landing in the distant grass.~
Klaus: "You don't have to do what I did there at the end, I was simply demonstrating one tactic of water combat. However, do try to form the sphere of water at least. Remember, Aqua!"
Siegfried: "Let's give this a try then."
-As before, Siegfried took a deep breath and lifted his hand into the air, palm facing the sky. He clenched his fist as Klaus had done, and opened his hand again. Then he attempted to cast the spell.~
Siegfried: "Aqua!"
. . . . . . . 
-Once more, nothing had happened. Water magic was not one of Siegfried's natural affinities either. This left only natural and fire magic left, however, both of these elements are quite powerful. Knowing this, Siegfried felt more confident in his long-term battling abilities.~
Klaus: "Well then, if that's not it, let's go for Natural! If that's not it either, then we know it must be fire, which would be pretty nice to know, considering I'm a fire mage myself! Anyway, let's give natural magic a shot."
-Klaus took a different approach this time. Natural and Fire magic are the opposites of air and water magic. They are more power-driven and require more mental fortitude to cast. Klaus lifted his hand and balled it into a fist. He then uppercut the air and cast a spell.~
Klaus: "Terram!"
-The ground began to shake, and Siegfried noticed cracks forming in the ground in front of Klaus. Suddenly, a large stone emerged from the ground and floated in front of Klaus. Klaus then punched the stone, similar to the water sphere, and the stone flew for a good dozen feet before hitting the ground.~
-Klaus turned toward Siegfried and nodded his head, as if to signal without words that it was time for him to attempt the spell. Siegfried nodded his head back in agreement, and proceeded to replicate what Klaus had demonstrated.
-Siegfried balled his hand into a fist, stomped the ground for extra luck, and uppercut the air. Then, he attempted to cast the spell.~
Siegfried: "Terram!"
. . . . . . .
-As expected, nothing happened. So far, Siegfried was unable to cast an air, water, and now natural spell. This left only fire magic as the last option... to Siegfried and Klaus, it was a pretty safe bet as to which type of magic Siegfried would be naturally gifted in.~
Klaus: "Hey hey! Would you look at that. Turns out that it's fire magic after all! This is great news, it means you'll be excellent in combat, as fire magic is the strongest type of elemental magic in terms of pure damage output!"
Siegfried: "Well, to be honest, I never thought I'd be a fire mage. If anything, I expected myself to be Natural or something. But fire sounds cool! Can I try out a fire spell to see what kind of magic I can produce?"
Klaus: "Absolutely! I'll demonstrate one of my favorite fire spells, and ask you to attempt it. If it's too challenging, we will try a more basic fire spell. Watch closely, Siegfried."
-Klaus then lifted both of his hands into the air, and began to move them in a circular motion. He uttered a few words to himself, which were unintelligible, and then cast a spell. His eyes opened wide, and he smiled.~
Klaus: "Ol-Flamma Rotam!"
-Suddenly, a large wheel of fire emerged from Klaus's hands, and proceeded to roll across the grass, leaving a large strip of burned grass in its path. Klaus realized what he had done, and quickly cast a water spell to extinguish the flames. ~
Klaus: Yikes, I guess that's why it was a good idea to come out to the field, Siegfried-kun! Anyway, I know that spell seems daunting, but I'd like you to try it. You don't have to worry about the prefix "Ol" either."
-Siegfried replicated what Klaus had done, even if it wasn't as elegant. He moved his wand in circular motions, and uttered the words.~
Siegfried: "Flamma-Rotam!"
. . . . . . .
-nothing?
-nothing at all. Despite all his efforts, he couldn't even produce a single flame... This was alarming to both Klaus and Siegfried. To them, it appeared that Siegfried had no natural magical affinity whatsoever. Perhaps what Daichi said in the Guild House was true after all...~
~~FLASHBACK~~
Daichi: "As for Siegfried.... you have zero magical capabilities at all. You will need to learn the basic spells from scratch.
Siegfried: "WHAT, I'M BASICALLY USELESS, NO MAGIC WHATSOEVER!"
~~BACK IN THE FIELD~~
Klaus: "...this is unusual. It appears that despite trying out one of each spell, that you can't seem to control any of the elements in the slightest... Siegfried, I think you might be a melee-only..."
Siegfried: "Melee-Only?"
Klaus: "People in Provincia who are unable to perform magic, are known as Melee-Only's. They usually enter the league of knights and learn the ways of the sword... Perhaps this is the true path for you..."
Siegfried: "Well, when I fused with Camriel, I was able to cast all kinds of advanced magic almost perfectly, furthermore, I have a mana vat! Don't you think that those are some telltale signs that I'd be able to perform at least one kind of magic?"
Klaus: "...well, there is one more type of magic that we haven't attempted yet, however, it is incredibly dangerous... I was worried we might have to go here, but if it's really your natural affinity, then we have no choice but to utilize it."
Siegfried: "A fifth element? Which element could you be talking about Klaus?"
Klaus: "...dark magic, also known as shaman magic..."
-Dark Magic/Shaman Magic is the same type of magic that Rigel specializes in. It's the same magic he used to apply Siegfried's curse to him. It's the second most powerful type of magic, behind Spirit/Pure magic.~
Siegfried: "...shaman magic? You think I could potentially be a shaman? But why would Camriel send me here with that ability?"
Klaus: "I'm not entirely sure... but there's only one way to find out if it's true. Siegfried, I will personally not cast any dark magic, as I wish not to make any mistakes. However, I can tell you one spell that will for sure tell you if you're a shaman or not..."
-Klaus closed his eyes, and cast a spell of his own to create a barrier around his body. Although dark magic would have very little effect on Klaus, If Siegfried was to mess up this spell in any way, it could potentially be harmful to both him and Klaus.~
Klaus: "Raise your wand, and utter this word... "Shambra""
Siegfried: "-- --"

Siegfried: "Okay. Klaus, let's give this a try...."
-Siegfried lifted his wand, closed his eyes, and took a deep breath. As he channeled his energy through his wand, he began to feel cold. His entire body began to cool down rapidly, and Siegfried felt weightless... it was an odd sensation. In his head, vivid images of things and people he had never seen before were appearing... These were the faces of the Void Stars...~
-Despite never seeing them, it appeared that channeling his energy toward a dark spell seemed to have some influence on his memory, and he was picturing the faces of Hasher's Dark Mages and Void Stars. Then, Siegfried uttered the word.....~
Siegfried: "...shambra."

*WOOOOOOOOSH*
-Like an incredibly powerful gale, dark clouds and fog instantly enveloped the area. Shambra is a spell that creates a dark thick fog, used to trap your opponents and make them lost without direction until they eventually meet their fate to the one who cast the spell. However, Klaus could see right through it due to his sheer skill.~
Klaus: "WHOA! SIEGFRIED, IT'S POWERFUL. HOLY SHIT. I mean, Siegfried! Are you in there? Are you okay? This is a very dangerous spell! Don't cast it without thinking! ugh, Siegfried!"
-The fog became incredibly thick, and Klaus decided that he had to put a stop to it before it enveloped the entire surrounding area and crept its way into Oakheart. Quickly, Klaus unsheathed his sword and swung it through the air. The vivid lights emerged from his sword and instantly dissipated the fog around him.~
Klaus: "Fait Lux." --- "Let there be light (translation)"
-Suddenly, the rest of the fog dissipated, and Siegfried was found laying on the ground. This spell seemed to have used a decent chunk of his mana, considering how widespread it was. Klaus rushed over to Siegfried, and spoke to him.~
Klaus: "Siegfried! Are you okay? Talk to me, what did you see?"
Siegfried: "...I saw faces of people I've never seen before... evil faces... dark places.. it enraged me, and I channeled my rage into the spell. I'm sorry, Klaus..."
-Klaus lifted Siegfried off the ground and got him to his feet. Siegfried brushed himself off, and looked at Klaus, who, despite what had just occurred, was smiling...~
Klaus: "Interesting.... congratulations Siegfried, you're a shaman...."

Veronica woke up with a little stiff arms. She look around and found his face between her chest. She rolled her eyes and pushes him but he wrapped his arms around her tightly. Men. They only wanted women with big boobs. 
"Get up, I'm hungry!" She try to push him and it's eight in the evening. 
"I'm hungry too… I could eat you up." 
	Eat her up? She thought of him becoming carnivorous or cannibal. But on Tony's thoughts it was the other way around of eating her up. 
"Are you—a psychopath or something?" She asked. He sigh and sat up like a zombie looking at her with bored eyes. 
"You should watch sex tutorial for you to know it." He reach the tablet on the corner and started searching. 
"What?" She asked quizzically. 
"Do you want me to demonstrate?" He spread her legs and kneel in between. "You are too innocent when it comes to this." 
"Hey!" She was about to pull her legs back but he hold her still. 
"I'm going to demonstrate it to you." He pushes her dress up and reach her white panties. 
"There's no need. I don't need to learn it." She said just to stop him. But it didn't stop him from doing it. 
	Soon, the room's temperature increase and she was moaning and her toes curls up. She grab the sheet and watch him eat her up down there. Her face was flushed… her nipples are hard and damn—everything he did was just good. 
	Tony watch her beautiful expression. Her face was flushed like it was touched by pink roses. The way she bit her lip was enough seductive to stir him up and those rough breathing—she just look heavenly. After pleasuring her, he crawl up to her and kiss her lips and admire her. 
	She's still panting and flushed. Damn it, this woman knows well on how to seduce him without doing anything at all. 
"Satisfied?" He ask in husky voice. He traces few kisses on her neck and suck her skin on the sensitive spot.

	They went to the kitchen where the chef of the villa. Tony request few dishes that would fill his woman's empty stomach. She waited while eating few fruits and paddling her feet from the high stool like a child. It look adorable when she's flushed and probably thinking on what he did to her a while ago. 
	He reach her hand that's holding a frozen strawberry then he take a bite and finish it all from her fingers and suck the juices from her fingers. She frown at him and took the strawberry away. 
"Hey, I am hungry as well." 
"Go find yourself some food." She shooed him. He reach her knee and she smack his hand. 
"Ow!" Tony rubbed his hand and glare at her. "It's just strawberry!" She give him a bored look. "Okay, sorry." He wanted to tease her but since they aren't in bed—and she seemed not in a good mood, he delay it a little. 
	Their food came up and the noisy couple from the other room come out and greet them. They were about to sat down with them but Veronica speaks. 
"My boyfriend and I are having our own moment. So please find yourselves another table." She said coldly. Hearing the word boyfriend makes Tony excited though he knew that it was only meant for them not to approach them. 
"But isn't it great if we have a double date?" The woman in brunet hair said cheerfully. Veronica reach her knife and slice is gracefully on the steak. It look so dangerous like she's ready to slit someone's throat but for him it was sexy. 
"Sorry, my darling isn't in a good mood." Tony said in very nice way. 
"Let them have their moment, sweetie." The man said and Tony even saw how the man eyed Veronica's chest. 
	Veronica is wearing a V-neck dress—a little lower, flowery and has no sleeve. So it shows her cleavage and how beautiful it was shaped. Tony reach his knife and wanted to remove the man's eyeballs. But soon, the couple left to another table. 
"Next time, wear more clothes." 
"What do you mean?" she eat the slice of steak and chew it carefully. 
"That man just peek on your chests. I'm really going to remove his eyeballs." He hissed in low sound. 
	She bit her lower lip to avoid laughing. While they are eating, her phone suddenly chimes and she open it to find a message from Catriona. 
"Switzerland with Tequila. Never tell Enzo our location." 
"I'll destroy the evidence." Veronica replied as she delete her conversation with Catriona. Then suddenly her phone started ringing. It was Enzo so she answer it casually. 
"What?" 
"Nica, uhh, I was just wondering—do you know about Sabrina's mission for Cat and Tequila?" He asked. 
"No." She answer casually. She's good at lying and she even defeated the lie detector. 
"I know that you are good at lying." 
"Why would I lie to you? Besides, I have nothing to do with her business. Ask your sister." 
"Veronica…" Enzo sound so desperate. "I love Catriona… How could I live like this?" 
"Then you are wrong to choose her. I'm eating right now and I don't want to hear anything regarding that." She hang up and continue eating. 
"Who was that?" Tony asked. "Seemed like you sound too cold." 
"That's Enzo." Tony nodded. 
"Enzo was Catriona's boyfriend, right?" She didn't say anything from his question. And had thought deep. Catriona and she has the same fate. They will eventually leave the person that care about them. Because that's what it should be. They never should get involve into other people's lives. 
	She look up at Tony without any emotions. What Tony did to her a while ago was very pleasurable that she lost her sanity. She can't keep this relationship. But how is she going to avoid him? He's too clingy and he—he make her turn into someone else. 
"Why are you staring at me like that?" Tony asked and propped his elbow on the table and smile at him. "It's so sexy, darling. Don't make me eat you up here in the table." 
"I wanted to ask you a question." 
"Uhuh." He tilt his head admiring her beautiful seductive face. 
"Why do you want to marry me?" 
"Because I want you." 
"It doesn't include love—you only lusted me." 
"Honey, every part of you is all I want. Mostly—I wanted to have your heart." 
"You are really stupid. I wonder how you become a COO." She shook her head and continue eating. He was surprise on her comment. He chuckled and took the napkin and was about to throw it to her but he bent down and wipe it on her lips a little rough. 
"I will make that smart mouth shut eventually." 
"How?" She challenge him and sipped on her wine. 
"Do you want me demonstrate right here and right now?" He asked seductively. 
"Do you want them to watch us?" She cock her head on the couple that are flirting with their food and glancing at them. 
	Tony was doesn't like the couple and the man that keep eying his woman so he reach her hand and kisses it. 
"Darling, I'll make them evacuate this villa so I could demonstrate you on how to do it." 
	He glace at the shinning ring on her neck. It will be looking good if she wore it on her left ring finger.

As Ilya was forced backwards; she twirled and stably landed on the ground.

With a slight push, the strike knocked Ilya away.

"Hou~… Seems like you don't really like the young master of the Utar family." Shiro raised an eyebrow.
"Nah, no one does. Especially women. If he has his eyes on anyone pretty, even if they're married, he'll capture the woman and have his way with them. Unfortunately, every time the inspectors came, he was always able to hide the evidence so they can't do anything to the bastard. You're lucky young lady, if you had been a day earlier, I'm sure the bastard would have sent his men over to grab you."
"Hahaha, thank you for the warning. I'll watch out." Shiro responded with a smile.
"So do you know a place called Silvermoon Keep? I was heading over there and had gotten lost on my journey."
"Hmm… Silvermoon Keep… Could you be on about one of the most fortified towers in the country?"
"If there aren't any other Silvermoon Keeps, I believe this should be the one."
"In that case then I suggest you rethink your journey. Rumour has it that a band of evil cultists have made the place their home. Not only that, but none of the official soldiers had managed to retake the keep due to how fortified it is. No one knows what the situation is like at the moment but all we know is that we powerless people should avoid that place at all costs."
"Is that so… then do you know a place where I can buy a map of the entire place?"
"A map? Just go down the streets and turn left. Continue down the road and you'll eventually see an old man wearing a straw hat, straw bag and a broomstick. His name is Derrick and you can buy a map off him for 5 silvers. It's expensive but the maps drawn by him are worth it."
"Thank you, tell you what, give me another ale of yours and this time I'll pay for it." Shiro smiled.
"Alright, that'll be 50 coppers." He replied and made another cup of ale.
Paying the money, Shiro chugged down the ale and walked out of the bar.
"Damn… that ladies got a stomach for ale alright." The barman muttered in appreciation before continuing his job.
Following the barman's instructions, Shiro found old man Derrick by the rivers.
"Excuse me, are you Derrick?" Shiro asked politely.
"This one is called Derrick. How can I help you, young miss?" He responded with a kind smile.
"I would like to purchase a map if that's possible."
"Of course, where to?"
"Silvermoon Keep."
"Hmm, I'd suggest you avoid that place. Word is that evil cultists have taken over the keep and the army can't do anything about it." He frowned slightly.
"I know. But I have urgent matters there so I must go."
"Hais… fine. A map for Silvermoon Keep. You should know my price right?" He said whilst shuffling through his bag and grabbed a tied up scroll labelled 'Silvermoon Keep'.
"Yes I do, 5 silvers is that correct?" She asked and handed over the money.
Receiving the map to Silvermoon Keep, Shiro walked away and unravelled the map.
'Hmm… There are two stops before I can get to Silvermoon Keep. Roughly 3 days of travel in total between locations.' She thought whilst observing the map.
To get to Silvermoon Keep, she had to travel to the town of Hythe first. After arriving at Hythe, she'll need to then travel towards the west, towards Norbury before she could reach Silvermoon Keep.
If she was fast with her travels, she'd arrive there in 3 days provided that she doesn't take any breaks. If she was slow, it may take up to a whole week before she could arrive at her destination.
That being said, she wasn't sure if the last carriage would even go to Silvermoon Keep from all the rumours she had heard. With the town's folk recommending her to avoid the keep, she doubts the carriages would take her there.
"Which means I can take two carriages to Norbury and then everything else will be on foot." Shiro concluded.
Storing the map away, she made her way to the stables, in hopes of hitching a ride towards Hythe first.
When she arrived at the stables, she saw a small sized caravan recruiting for some bodyguards.
"Excuse me, are you perhaps going to Hythe?" Shiro asked the recruiter.
"Mn? Yeah we are. But our carriages are already full. Plus, we're only looking for bodyguards now. I doubt a young lady like yourself can fight well so maybe next time." He replied as he heard her voice. He couldn't see her face clearly since she only reached his lower chest in height.
"About that, I'm an Ice Mage looking to join some people to Hythe. I can work as a bodyguard if that's ok with you." Shiro replied, not minding the fact that he thought she couldn't fight.
"A mage? You?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Take your hood down, I'll need you to demonstrate your magic and record you into the register if that's the case."
Shiro nodded and flipped her hood down. Her white hair flowed out behind her as the people of the caravan were shocked at her beauty.
"What kind of magic do you want me to demonstrate? Defensive type or attack type?" She asked.
"Ah ehem. If you can demonstrate both, that'll be great." He replied as he tried to suppress the blush that had crept up on his face.
"Hm, alright." Shiro nodded.
Stepping back a little, she made sure that there was some space around her. Stomping down, Shiro created rows of ice walls around her in an instant.
The recruiter was shocked at the activation time since it was common knowledge that mages needed to not only chant, but also charge up their spells. He had never heard of mages that could cast spells without chanting. Not only that, but the magic took effect almost instantly.

Snapping her fingers, Shiro cast an attack type spell this time.
Several ice spikes materialised in the air as they pointed towards the recruiter, threatening to pierce him.
"You pass!" He said as he silently wiped his sweat away.
Mages were powerful but weren't feared due to their slow cast time and predictable spells. This allowed warriors to approach the mages during this moment and kill them with ease.
However, the situation would be completely flipped if the mage could perform like what Shiro demonstrated.
'If mages were all like her, the demand for warrior would collapse.' He thought as he couldn't even imagine what battlefields would be like if mages were all like the young girl in front of him.
Thawing the ice around her, Shiro waited patiently for him to finish her registration.
"Here's your identity pass for this trip. Just write your name on it and then we'll discuss your wages." He said whilst handing her a wooden plate and brush.
Writing her name down, she passed the brush back to the recruiter.
"So the wages are 40 silvers for the whole trip from here to Hythe. Food is provided. We'll stop during the night with the guards taking night shifts in case of monster attacks. Would that be fine?" He asked. Usually, the bodyguards would get only 20 silvers, but for someone of Shiro's talents, he knew he had to double the price if he wanted to recruit her.
Little did he know, even if he offered her nothing, she would have joined anyways.
One of the reasons for her to join the caravan instead of running there herself was due to the fact that she wanted to see if she could ask for some information about the cult and some context to this world from the other bodyguards.
She would have a better chance of success if she knew the full situation after all.
"That's fine. So how long till we set off boss?" She asked with a small smile.
"We'll be leaving once we get two more bodyguards along with some routine checks on the goods that we're transporting." He replied.
"You can join the other bodyguards and we'll call for you once we're ready."
Looking towards where he had pointed, she saw 7 other people waiting patiently, all equipped with armour and weapons.
'So for a caravan of this size, they're opting to take 10 bodyguards with them on the journey.' She thought when she saw the group.
Currently, the group had 2 tanks, 3 attackers, a mage and what seems to be a healer.
"Hello. I'm Shiro, an Ice Mage." Shiro greeted with a smile. The moment she saw the healer, she had the idea of learning healing arts from her.
Since she doubts Silvia wants to join her group after she killed her friends, either she gets another healer or learn some healing arts by herself. Enough so that they could sustain the party for now.
Unfortunately, the party members didn't share the same feelings as her since 6 out of the 7 members just ignored her.
"Um hi. I'm called Reyna. I er am responsible for um healing the party." Reyna replied a little timidly.
She had long brown hair that wasn't tied up at all. The length of the hair reached past her waist while the bangs framed her face. While her face wasn't that of an ethereal beauty like Shiro's, it was definitely beautiful in its own right.
As for her outfit, it was a priest robe that was mainly coloured white with red streaks along the edges.

Suppressing her repulsion towards the outfit and the fact that she was clearly linked to a church of some kind, Shiro shook hands with Reyna.
"So Reyna, what kind of healing magic do you use? Are they single target or area of effects?" Shiro asked with a small smile.
"Erm I use a mix of both. Though I'm more specialised in area of effect." She replied, a little taken aback by her question.
"Ah I see. You'll be very handy in large scale battles then." Shiro complimented.
She needed to butter up Reyna first before she could ask her to teach her some healing magic.
"Ah thank you."
Shiro did try to strike up a conversation with the other members but they either just blushed or tried their best to look away.
'Well aren't they the talkative bunch.' Shiro thought as they were about to set off soon.
The last two bodyguards the caravan had recruited were both warriors.
However, out of everyone here, Shiro's goal was Reyna and only Reyna. The others didn't provide her with enough benefits that warranted her to give them more attention. So after one failed attempt at striking up a conversation, Shiro completely ignored them and left them to their down devices.
"Alright, we're setting off!" The recruiter shouted out as the 'team' of ten stood up and surrounded the caravans.
Shiro hopped on one of the carriages and sat down on the roof. Due to the fact that she was, in his opinion, the strongest mage amongst them. The recruiter ignored this and allowed her to stay on the roof of the carriages.
Throwing a lollipop in her mouth, Shiro sated her hunger for a bit since she wasn't able to find anyone selling mana stones in the town. This made it hard for her to feed herself so she could only settle with the remaining pile of lollipops in her inventory.
The journey was rather smooth sailing with only the occasional monster trying to attack the caravan.
However, they were dealt with easily by the other guards. Shiro didn't even need to move from her spot on the roof.
"So Reyna, what's your reason for joining this caravan? Or are you perhaps in a party with the other members?" Shiro asked as she offered Reyna a lollipop.
Reyna accepted the strange looking candy and placed it in her mouth. She was surprised at how sweet the lollipop was and couldn't help but glance at Shiro curiously. Everyone knew that sugar was expensive and that not many households would use sugar like how Shiro has. If she had to describe it, it was like she was eating a hardened ball of sugar.
Tasty but at the same time very wasteful.
"I'm a lone adventurer. Normally I would just join a few random parties to earn some money for myself. And since I'm a healer. I'm accepted into parties quite often." Reyna replied as she realised she finished her lollipop already.
The fact that she could bite into the lollipop and taste the sweetness spread through her mouth made her drool for more.
 Chuckling at the fact that she was basically wearing her emotions on her face, Shiro handed her two more lollipops.
Hopefully, she'll be able to get Reyna to teach her some healing magic before the trip ends.


I'm captured? Fine, I can't help it since I can't move.

Experimented on? At least give me some anaesthetic.

"Bye~" She grinned before losing strength.

Lu Jia'er asked Jin Shengping. "Mr. Jin, do you need me to demonstrate any other functions for you?"
"You don't have to." Jin Shengping waved his hand no.
This came as another surprise for Lu Jia'er. "Aren't you curious?" She queried.
"Of course we are curious. However, when we met you, as far as we were concerned, you were normal. So, even if it turns out that you are an advanced AI, this is not something we would mind!" Jin Shengping replied in a gentle tone.
This was not expected by Lu Jia'er. "Mr. Jin, no wonder you are a scientist. You keep such an open mind to all the subjects in the universe."
Jin Shengping smiled. "I believe that you must be an advanced AI specialized in psychology considering your major. A breakthrough in this field can be tremendously beneficial for humankind."
"I suppose so. However, so far, I still have no idea who created me." Lu Jia'er mentioned.
"You couldn't find out?" Jin Shengping asked.
Lu Jia'er shook her head. Jin Xiangdong, who was sitting by her side, interposed, "I have been investigating but no results have been turned up just yet. It is like they are in another dimension."
"Another dimension?" Jin Shenping's eyes flickered.
Jin Xiangdong had been driven to his wit's end when it came to this investigation. "Like a ghost in another plane of existence!"
"Ghost?" Jin Shengping mumbled the word.
"I have no clue. Sometimes, when I thought I was onto something, the trail would go cold." Jin Xiangdong heaved a sigh with this remark.
Jin Shengping looked at his son. "They must have concealed themselves well."
"Mr. Jin, of the scientists you know, is there anyone that has participated in a project that works to combine AI and humans? Or, is there anyone particularly interested in this?" Lu Jia'er questioned closely.
"Xiangdong has asked the same question. Many people I know have been involved in studying Artificial Intelligence further. However, they have concerns regarding experimentation that combines AI with humans. After all, experiments like that are against the most fundamental ethical principles." Jin Shenping stated.
Lu Jia'er responded to Jin Shengping's comment, "That is true. Recently, I have been thinking about how many advanced AI like me are out there in the world. Also, how many experiments or failed products were there to manufacture an advanced AI like me?"
Jin Shengping's eyes glowed. Something meaningful flashed by like a shooting star. That look disappeared so quickly that nobody else detected it.
"My father has provided a list for me. I have asked people to look into that. For now, we haven't found anyone suspicious." Jin Xiangdong explained.
Lu Jia'er forced a smile. "Was I created by a ghost?"
Jin Shengping offered comforting words. "My dear, there are no ghosts in this world. Ghosts do not exist. Don't worry! Let's have dinner first and then take a good rest."
Jin Xianglan added, "Professor Lu, don't overthink. Maybe, we can help determine your creator with tomorrow's exam!"
Lu Jia'er's eyes glowed at this point. She smiled at Jin Xianglan whose words had warmed her heart.
It went without saying that Lu Jia'er was happy that Jin Xiangdong's family was so tolerant of her. They accepted her instead of rejecting her. They even treated her as though she were a normal human being. When they were having dinner, they had an inspiring conversation about the future world with AI.
While happy, Lu Jia'er felt something was bothering her.
At the moment, she was sitting on her bed, leaning against the pillow, absorbed in her thoughts.
Jin Xiangdong came out from the bathroom after he finished his shower. Seeing that she was in a trance, he asked, "What is on your mind?"
Lu Jia'er raised her head. She was about to say something when she had a change of heart. "Nothing."
