I am 16 year old, Who is just about to be 17 in a month, and I hate romance ,Not because I cannot do it. Just because I don't want to do it or never want to have a try, BUT the community in which I  live loves to have romance.                                                                Some people think it is a cause of happiness , And some say it's a blessing, You know what I think it's just a waste of time. There are many other ways to be happy Why romance?.                                                                          Romance is the first step to sex, Which is not good for teens. This the main reason why I hate it.                                                                                                                       At First I would  like to introduce  my lovely little  family to you guys. This big fat guy is my step father. His name is  Joe. He is 42 years old. He is a sex teripist .He has a lot of experienced  Some time people came to him at home. He has his own office in the house, Which if you enter you can see sex product everywhere like condam, dildo and many more ,That is the reason that no one is allowed to go in his  office.                                                      And then I have  3 step sisters Emma, Kristen and Amy .Emma is 23 years old while Kristen is 22 years old and Amy is 20 years old, Amy is the best of all of them . You may be thinking that I am the only one who hates romance                                                                                                                                                                                                If you are thinking that,       Then you are very wrong. All The kids which are smallest in their family Hates romance. Because They always find their elders in a scene of a romance or some time even sex, and they are kind of get bored and sucked up.                                and  now I would very much love to introduce my beautiful mom.  Her name is caitlin. She  is very good at cooking.                                                                                                             Actually I mean very bad , but she thinks She is the best cook in the world. But anyways I love her. She is very kind and very caring. She is the best mom and you can't find a mom like her in a place like here.        Actually,                                                                              my dad died when I was 1 year old, So my mom married Joe so I can't feel that i am missing a dad joe is very good dad and he is a very caring man all my family is very nice and very romantic.                              ...…...                                                                               ...                                                                                     So this makes me think that it does increase happiness but still I hate it, But there is one thing that all things does have advantages and disadvantages side by side.                                                                     So this was my family and I am going to tell you about my friends. All my friends are From school, so first I will give you a little intro about my school .                  My school is 3 or 3.5 km far from home. As you know no one loves to go to school, but here it's different. We have 3 periods of romance and kids love to go to school, Me and my friends had  never attended those 3 periods.                                                                         You are thinking it's a great school but you will get sucked in when you will be here.                                                                                                                                                                    Because you can't do a single thing for all the rest of your life and it get more boring when you see your teachers having romance in the staff room. It Just not the end the principal and the workers in the school. Where ever you see. you can see people having romance. I have never seen the  people here  getting bored or tired. I imagine if the people here use the energy which they use for romance in sports. They will be at  the top in everything.                                          I have 2 best friends Gustin and Andy . Gustin lives with his dad. His mom died when he was 10.His father never married again. While lives his mom and dad and 1 brother, Who  is way to older than him. Both of them  are my best friends.                                                                                                                                                                      We are in the last grade of high school, I am not very much excited about it  you know why because, It doesn't mean I am going to get out of school.            Our school is combined meaning college is also in over school YEAH, Bullshit! Stuck here for 2 or 3 years more.                                                                                  But they will pass guys like all  the others years have been passed.                                                                            I am thinking if there would be a change in me or not. Only days can tell that.                                            What do you think!. The only thing I can hope for it to be good.                                                                             So this was a little intro to my world, family, school and friends. I can just give you the intro of everyone right now but I will give you details on everyone later, But first let's start the story

Elyon knew that "Romance" is not his strong point. He writes a fantasy story with romance, but he can't tell if the romance will be able to attract female readers. Out of curiosity, he asked some of his fellow authors the question "Why do you read romance stories?"

Here are their answers…

Kyosei: Because I am single. 

Reili: To fill my empty void of a love life.

Minrei: Because romance let you feel what is to be loved, plus it is universal you dont need to learn magic or cultivation in order to read.

Bajj: Due to lack of romance irl.

Murakami: I read because I enjoy the friction and conflict between the FL and ML. The insistence vs resistance is naisu.

Qin: I reads romance only for ideas and info.

VlassisBehrakis: I don't read romance novels.

Elyon then  ̶a̶m̶b̶u̶s̶h̶e̶d̶ asked some readers about their opinion about romance novels.

Yin: I read romance novels because I want that kind of drama to happen to me in real life. But I know it will never happen haha.

A Certain Irresistible Meowlin: I wonder why? And I do read romance novels. Though the chance of me dropping them is also the highest out of all the genres. Every so often I come across a scene that makes me just want to squeal and fangirl.

Elyon decided to dig deeper and asked a few of his senior "romance authors" some questions about their reason for writing romance stories.

The first question is… Why did you choose to write Romance Stories?

Anjeeriku: I'm comfortable writing romance stories compared to other genres. I'm a helpless romantic person and I like novels that can invoke other people's feelings.

Bajj: First of all, I like reading romance story. It was the reason why I read books before and reading other genres comes after. All in all, due to these romance fiction books, I got the opportunity to read more great books with different genre.

MishaK: That's what I read, so write that too.

Zehell2218: Because as reader, I want to read romance novel so when I write, I write romance since my motto is I write what I want to read.

Ikazainudin: The easiest genre. Everyone can relate.

End_of_Era: It wasn't a full on Romance, it was slice of life with romance which I feel was necessary with progression of the characters.

The second question… When you were making your ML and FL, did you imagine yourself as the lead of your story at any given point in time?

Anjeeriku: I would be a liar if I said no. There were instances that I'd put myself in my FL's shoes. Whenever that happens, my writing feels more passionate and truthful that sometimes it was hard to know where my fl starts and where I end. 

Shen Yi, LMD's ML was based on a person I've lost, The One That Got Away so it was sometimes hard not to self-insert whenever there were scenes that need to invoke feelings from readers. 

Bajj: I believe that every character the author was making and breathing life into it, a part of him/her is added to its character. But me imagining of being the ML/FL, never. I'm too pure for that. Kek

MishaK: Yes I did but sometimes. Otherwise you can't infuse emotions in your characters. It is important to understand your characters.

Zehell2218: Yes, I imagine myself as the lead. Of course, I tweak it a bit, such as in age and appearance. But mostly, the characteristics is similar to me.

Ikazainudin: FL and ML character based on what I want to be irl. Yup. I imagine that will be my love story.

End_of_Era: Yes, my leads had some ocassional self insertion.

The third question… If you were to choose some other genre aside from romance, what would you pick?

Anjeeriku: Fantasy. I always look up to those authors who can write fantasy stories/novels well. I believe writing a fantasy novel is harder than writing romance.

Hello Guys! I hope you enjoyed this chapter of WWCG. Personally, I've read a few CEO novels myself. Ai~ there's a few more that I won't add to the list because it will create a wall of text. Well anyways, the reason why I read these stories is to get an idea on "WHY" the ladies love to read them.

Let's just say that it's a unique way to see a world in the eye of a lady (if you are a man of course). When done properly, the execution of the story can capture the hearts of anyone, even male readers. I believe that no matter what gender you are, as long as you find the story interesting then it doesn't matter whether you are a guy or a gal no?

Perhaps, when I'm not too busy to write my stories, I'll once again pick a romance novel to read. Hopefully, I will find another hidden gem that will bring unexpected surprises to anyone who are lucky enough to find them.

It's me again, Lemon Grenade. After creating the story Reincarnated into a Shingle Sea Urchin, I realized how fast I did things and how I didn't put much effort into the story. I've spent my time thoughtfully contemplating on how to improve myself this year before I came up with a new story.

I originally promised another story that involved aliens and game elements, but I got extremely lazy during that time and temporarily gave up. But I've been working on others in secret during my silence. This time I came up with one that's unique and something I'm willing to invest more time in compared to my first one which was a prototype.

This time I won't try to speed run things. I'll try to put effort into the storyline and plot. I'll try to personalize characters and put effort into them. Unlike the first time, I have a relatively good path that I plan on following. Yes, I said that for my first novel, but complications rose so I ended it prematurely.

But I won't start releasing chapters for a while. If I do, the pressure will bring up my habit of speed running things. Once I've completed a portion of it that I've deemed satisfactory, I'll start releasing chapters.

PLEASE READ (But please don't be offended with my passionate rant)

I have reasons as to why I chose the main character to be a female.
The first reason is because I feel more enthusiastic when the character I'm imagining is female.

The second reason is because I'm tired of almost all the female Wuxia/Xianxia novels that I manage to find and read. It's very hard (and rare) to find a legit cultivation novel with a female protagonist that cultivates seriously.
Almost all female cultivation novels have a main male character that goes after them. It results in a lot of romance and little cultivation. The same could be said to multiple male characters going after the single female protagonist. It just results in too much comedy and romance, with little cultivation time taken seriously.

Examples would be Genius Doctor: Black Belly Miss and The Demonic King Chases His Wife. Although I've read the first to 300 and the second to 500, which isn't the whole, I stopped because of the romance. Although yes, there was a period of time where they separated, but even then, cultivation wasn't really taken seriously. 
(Correct me if this changes past what I've read. I'm kinda judging, but what I've said is mostly true for what I've read so far. So you can't blame me)

The ones that I can really appreciate are Kumo Desu Ga, Nani Ka? and The Good-For-Nothing Seventh Young Lady.
The first one has almost no romance with the female character and is all about evolving to become stronger in order to survive. 
The second does have multiple males going after her, but she takes cultivation very seriously and puts in effort to cultivate. If not, she's usually doing important business stuff or figuring out problems. She's not even in love with any of the male throughout the entire story, only friendship. It's extremely slow romance as she slowly falls for a guy that only has a soul, but has a personality that I like very much.

You can find plenty of male cultivation novels, and a lot of them are famous. Almost all of them seriously focus on cultivation; pursuing the Dao with not a lot of romance. Even the ones with female leads still do cultivation seriously even if the male protagonist falls in love.

But NO! When it's a female, the cold and dark world of cultivation suddenly becomes all happy and vibrant! It's all about the male guy! Yes, I have seen darkness and coldness in female cultivation novels like the ones above, but definitely not as much as one with a male MC. It's like the whole world has to be nicer just because the MC is a girl!

For male MC's, most of them struggle to the top. They have to work their way to advance by slaughtering enemies and using them as stepping stones in pursuit of the great Dao. They always severely injure themselves while approaching the brink of death just to survive. There's always gore, evil, and darkness that the MC has to traverse through while maintaining their sanity.

But NO! It's different for a female MC! They do struggle, but definitely not as much. Enemies are slaughtered and used as stepping stones, but I've never seen a female have a Dao they want to pursue. Yes they injure themselves, but definitely not as bloody and gory. Life or death situations are way less compared to the latter. Things are seemingly brighter with a female MC.

The best part of it all is that they're buffed with their seemingly harsh past life. Almost all female MC's in cultivation novels have OP medical skills, assassin skills, and military skills from their past life. I've never seen a female MC cult. novel where she was originally born in a cultivation world and has to work her way up. I've seen several male MC novel's like that, but no female.

Yes, I know male MC's are like that too, but not a lot of them actually have the female tropes. A good portion of them are just male MC's who are in high school or college, or just an average worker. They have to learn harsh things and go through mentally insane things. On the other hand, females are granted buffs and don't start this way out when they arrive. (Correct me if there is a female cultivation novel like that)

In conclusion, the males usually have the tough life while the females can just relate to their past life to get things done. Not to mention getting help from the leading male(s) character(s).
 
You really can't sympathize with the female MC's suffering in their past life as they usually do a brief overview of what their other worldly harsh life was like (sometimes male as well). The males usually have to go through hardships throughout the novel which immerses the reader (most of the time).

Well, as a person who believes in gender equality, this is a frustrating problem for me. I just wish there'd be more novels where the female has to suffer hardships physically and mentally like the male trope does without the buffer and external help from their lover. I also just wish the female would pursue the Dao and not crazily fall in love.

I know you're all saying, "But Lemon! Those novels are to catch readers that love romance!"
I know! But do you think all males and females like romance cultivation novels? 
"But these are all romance cultivation novels!"
Where's the action filled, Dao pursuing cultivation novels with female MC's?!
Where's the female MC's that pursue a lonely road of cultivation like the male MC's?!
I bet there's tons of female and male readers wanting more action-packed, little romance female Xianxia/Wuxia novels!

To make matters worse, they make the males personality traits very annoying to other males! Only the Seventh Young Lady has satisfactory male traits including the leading male.

Yes this all sounds sexist, but hear me out. 
I know some like the romance part, but as a person who loves action-filled novels, the romance part isn't all that big for me. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy romance ones as well, but only if the MC is a male and the romance is kept in check and not exaggerated like the female ones. Very rarely will I enjoy a male lead in a female cultivation (Seventh Young Lady).

Yes, I am using past life experience for the female MC, but that's because I'm lazy. I can understand why the others use this buff of their female MC's, but apparently it's easy for the male and not for the female.

Phew! I've let out enough of my pent-up emotions. Let's end this rant about inequality towards male and female MC's.

I will try to do as little romance as possible in this novel and keep cultivation serious. There will be a little, but I don't know if I'll include a handsome male lead or multiple male leads. It all depends on the direction of this novel.

this one made me laugh and smiled. it was filled with humor and that's why i like it so much it was definitely a nice experience.

it apparently said it was melodrama but it made me laugh so much you have no idea there were lovable characters that made me happy and you'll recognize them right away ( i think til the 8th ep. you'll realize but wtv)

it's storyline and the amount of surprises and love in it just left me empty once i finished it i do that a lot with dramas i get attached with including everyone in here.

3. Angels Last Mission: Love
genre: romance,sweet,fantasy,comedy.
this left me with a lot of questions but it was enjoyable and i would totally recommend it. i loved it since the first episode. trust me it'll get you good for sure!
(fun fact it was free on Viki Rakuten for 3-4 months until it was put on standard (or plus i forget) because of probably how many times i re watched it)

"All right guys, remember what we're doing?"
    "Yes!" my bandmates responded. The drummer's name is Josh, back up guitarist is Sam, and the other guitarist is Will, he sings as well. They tended to their instruments while I walked over to Emily.
    "Now, if you're nervous, just look at me, alright?" 
    She nodded her head and gripped her assigned mic with white knuckles.
    "Sixty seconds till curtain!" 
    We played some chords in harmony with each other to check the key signature and the speakers.
    "Thirty seconds!"
    Dim lights faded up so we could see in the darkness of the covered stage. The curtain lifted and the crowd cheered. There were hushed whispers about the new girl on stage. The drummer in the back cracked his sticks together to get us on the beat. We started to play "Bad Romance," covered by Halestorm. 
"Want your bad romance. I want your ugly. I want your disease. I want your everything, as long as it's free. I want your love." I sang
"I want your love." Sang Will. 
 "Love, love, love. I want your love." 
"I want your love, I want your love."
"I want your drama. The touch of your hand. I want your leather-studded kiss in the sand. I want your love."

Now is Emily's cue, let's see how she does.

Perfect.

Now the hard part. I trust that Emily can do this. She looked at me and then the crowd then closed her eyes. Here we go.

As soon as she started to sing I froze in awe. The crowd went wild. Will had to bump into me to tell me to sing and play, but I couldn't take my eyes off her.

"I want your love." Will backed up.

Emily jumped into the crowd and danced with them as Will and I sang.

    Nailed it again that I froze, my eyes still on her as she's buried in the crowd. Goosebumps shot up and down my arms and back. Will bumped me again and I shook my head and sighed and continued, "Want your bad romance. Want your bad romance. Want your bad romance."
Emily started heading back to the stage and I stopped playing to help her up. I sang to her and to the crowd as I helped her up. "I want your love, and I want your revenge. I want your love, I don't wanna be friends." I got her on the stage and I danced with her as I continued singing. Josh, Sam, and Will played while I sang to Emily and the crowd, but Emily doesn't know I'm singing this to her. She thinks it's part of the song.  "Je veux ton amour. Et je veux ta revanche. J'veux ton amour, I don't wanna be friends."
"I don't wanna be friends." Will sang.
"I don't wanna be friends." 
"I don't wanna be friends."
"No, I don't wanna be friends." I spun her away from me. 
"I don't wanna be friends." Will continued. 
"Want your bad romance." She spun back to me.
"Want your bad romance."
"Want your bad romance." She was in my arms and I was looking at her. She and I were breathless and the crowd cheered. For a split second, I froze while I gazed at her. I wanted to kiss her so badly, but instead I continued. 
"I want your love, and I want your revenge. You and me could write a bad romance." 
"Oh oh oh oh ooh." she sang 
"I want your love and all your lovers' revenge. You and me could write a bad romance." I was expecting her voice this time so I continued playing. 
"Oh oh oh oh ooh oh oh oh ooh oh oh! Caught in a bad romance. "Oh oh oh oh ooh oh oh oh ooh oh oh! Caught in a bad romance." I walked towards her as I sang the final part.
"Want your bad romance." I put down my guitar and touched her arms and slid my hands down her until I was holding her waist. Our faces were millimeters apart, I whispered. "Want your bad romance." While the last few chords played I kissed her. So deeply, so passionately, so emotionally. I moved my hand tighter around her waist and my other to push her head more towards mine. Her lips were so soft, and she tasted like apple cider. I want more. After I ran out of breath I pulled back and the crowd was going crazy. I looked at Emily and she was so flustered, my desire only grew. The curtain fell and we got ready for our next song, and a speech before the song. 
"Did I do good?" Emily's small, flustered voice asked.
I looked at her with pride, and smiled. "You left everyone speechless."
"But I distracted you. I'm sorry I ruined it."
"You didn't do anything wrong. You can blame that on me because I can't resist you." I moved her face to look at mine. "You were perfect."
She blushed again and smiled. "Good then."
"Yo Hunter! It's talk time!" Will shouted by the curtain. I nodded and sat Emily down on one of the boxes and joined my bandmates. The crowd cheered as we walked back on stage. Everyone was shouting questions about who the girl was who sang so perfectly.
"She's a self trained singer." responded Sam.
"And she's close with Hunter," added Josh.
"Speaking of that, let me get her up here." I said. Then I disappeared to bring her on stage. Once she was on people cheered louder than before. I handed her my mic and she said, "Hi."
I took back the mic and said, "This is Emily Youngblood. We met about a month ago on her birthday, September sixteenth. When she turned sixteen, golden year for her. You could say we're soulmates which brings us to now." I turned to her and the crowd shished. It was her and my world now. Just us. "Emily Youngblood." I pulled out the jewelry box and opened it, revealing a necklace. It was a rose gold circle with diamonds, and a little glass ball in the center that said, "I love you," in one hundred different languages when a light shined through it. I put it on her and continued. "I love you so much that I gave you one hundred different languages to proclaim it. I need you to be with me. Now and forever." I looked directly into her ocean eyes and said, "Will you be my girlfriend?"
She smiled and smirked, she was going to make a joke out of this. "Such a gentleman, how could I say no? Yes, I will."
The crowd cheered and I hugged her and spun her in my arms. She's all mine now. All mine. I carried her in my arms as my band and us went backstage to prepare for our next song.
"Wait for me here, okay? I'll take you home after."
She nodded and I kissed her forehead, then I joined my band and we played a song called, "Monster Mash" for the season. People sang and danced along to it as we played. After the song was over we bowed and went back stage one more time to clean up, but Emily wasn't there. In her place was the necklace she just got, but it was broken. The chain looked like someone ripped it off her neck and then left with her. Silently, but aggressively. There's only one person she would listen to under those circumstances. Her father. He took her away from me again. I have to save her. I grabbed her necklace, took my guitar off my back, and ran to my truck. I started the truck and slammed on the gas.

A yank came around my neck, and the necklace was thrown in front of me. The smell from behind me was strong and familiar. My dad. He put his giant hand around my small mouth and dragged me home. How did he know I was here? How is he even here?  He never leaves the couch, much less the house. He's clearly drunk and high, and he's going to use me as his doll again. I struggled to break free, but I was no match for a fat man like him.
"Stupid bitch playin' games again, not listenin'. When are ya ever gonna learn to stay home?" He threw me against the wall in our cold, smelly, old house. 
Hunter where are you? 
I huddled in on myself to protect the important parts of my body while dad raised a beer bottle to smash against me. 
Blood. Warm, sticky blood. It flowed smoothly out of my arms as he raised another and struck me again, and again, and again. All my strength was leaving my bloody arms as he kept striking me. Until he stopped suddenly.

"Sooo..." the two started talking about random stuff just to talk 

At least, it WAS just talking to talk at first..

But then their conversation got a little more interesting when Ali mentioned something that was always on the back of her mind 

"Mei, will we ever be able to find lovers?" 

"Mhm..." Mei didn't respond, so Ali continued talking

"Well, I mean we ARE both beauties.. it would be easy for us to find romance, I'm sure a lot of guys would come crawling to are knees and beg for our love.. but...." 

"But we can't" Mei Koi said 

"Well, I know.." 

Ali took a deep breath

"I know we can't find romance.. since we are hacker Z and all... and we can't risk someone finding out about our identities... and we don't really have time to love, with our identities as hackers and all.."

"But don't you feel lonely sometimes? Don't you also want a lover to fill that gap in your heart?? I can't be the only one who WANTS to experience romance.. tell me the truth, Mei.. don't you want romance??" 

Mei paused for a moment before she said 

"Fine. Say that I DO want romance. Even if I WANT romance, who could even date us? It's to risky to date someone who doesn't know our identities, so the only possible way for us to be able to date safely would be to date someone who already knows our identities who is trustworthy enough to keep our secret... that basically eliminates everyone on planet earth.. It's impossible for us to date, Ali"

"Not completely impossible.." murmured Ali 

Mei heard this, and said "really? It's not completely impossible, huh? Then tell me ONE person who qualifies..!"

Ali thought back to earlier that day, and said 

"how about that CEO guy?? Doesn't he know our identities, AND we are going to work for him soon? That will give us PLENTY of time to form some relationships... AND he's filthy rich.. I mean COME ON! He's got good looks, good money, a good job, AND a SEXY body!! He's everything perfect in one package for crying out loud!!!" Ali started off by replying smugly, with a know it all attitude, but towards the end, she was so energetic and enthusiastic 

"Uhmm..." Mei didn't know how to reply to that 

'She ACTUALLY proved ME wrong!! Oh god I already know she's gonna start teasing me about being wrong..' Mei started to try and come up with a bunch of excuses until she realized something 

They were about a minute away from the place that would make them official sisters! 

'Hah! I bet this will surely distract her from teasing me!' And with that thought, Mei koi officially launched her plan into action as she got closer to the place

"Look! I can see the building from here Ali!"

Ali instantly forgot all about how much she was going to tease Mei and instead shouted 

"REALLY?? WHERE?? OH I SEE IT NOW!!!!!" Ali was practically screaming at this point, but it didn't bother Mei Koi as she thought 

'Haha, plan success!! So what if she's screaming? It's way better than her nagging at me for being wrong!!"

Authors note: ahh so sorry it took so long to upload!! In school, almost every single class gave me a huge test or presentation! If a class didn't assign me any of those it gave me ALOT of homework everyday to finish which was due the next day.. the past while was really stressful for me, along with many other things like girl scouts and taeqwondo. I feel really bad because every time I went on my phone and checked how many people added this story to their library, it kept growing and growing! Before I took a break there were about 290 people who added this to their library, and now, when I checked it, it said that there were 500 people now!! I have no idea how I keep growing, but since stuff has sort of calmed down at school, I decided i NEEDED to make a chapter today, so I did! Currently at school I only have ONE major assignment due really soon, and I only have 7 pages of homework due tomorrow! I already finished like 3 pages, and I'm about to finish the rest up now! Ahh it feels nice to relax and take a break from so much school once in a while!!

Well, anyways, I'll try to upload again real soon, but I can't make any promises!!

This is my first ever writing experience, so I really hope you enjoy it as much as I did while writing it!! I would love to give my heartfelt thanks to all my readers who have chosen to go with my story.🥰:)

I love reading and as a result, I have read a lot of books with their base as romance. Turns out I'm a sucker for romance.🤗

Mostly I enjoy mafia romance novels with a strong female character. I'm not one for damsel in distress kind of books. No offence. That doesn't mean I don't go for cliché high school/college romance, because I do. More times than  I would like to admit. But in high school/ college romance the type a I really go for is a  best friend romance.

It's something about two people who have known each other all their lives but eventually develop feelings and fall in love that gets to me. I don't know.

But the one thing I never find is a mix of a badass girl and badass boy or two assassins or two mafia heads, who are/were best friends and were separated due to circumstances but find each other in some twisted way and still manage to fall in love.

And that is why I have put in words, something which I have always dreamt about. 

Two people. Two best friends. Who have grown up to become strong-minded and cold-hearted killers. But surprise us all when they develop feelings for each other. 

But the biggest question is always: Will they get their happily ever after, given all that they have done? Will they ever find normal?

No, the bride's gown was perfect, Eve thought, sighing. Whether for despair or disappointment, she didn't know.
She looked at the groom who was dabbing a neatly folded white handkerchief on his cheek as he watched his bride walk up to him.
Eve sighed again and stood to leave.
If staring at a blank page for hours on end wasn't helping, then watching these two strangers getting married sure wasn't going to help her get any more writing done.
This morning, she was just sitting in front of her laptop—a blank sheet with the blinking cursor cursing at her for not typing in a single word. For the heck of it, she typed her name: Eve.
The last royalty check from her previous book was about to run out, and her publisher wanted to meet with her first thing tomorrow morning. She knew it was about her last book, which flopped majestically in the stores. No one was buying into her romances anymore.
She needed to get another book out. Fast.
She had a finished manuscript sitting in the top drawer of her desk, but her publisher had rejected it. It was too off-brand for a romance author, too—what's the word...—literary. Too speculative fiction and not in the right way.

I really like strawberry ice cream and ice cream in general." Alissa said. "I don't really have a particular sport I like to engage in, but I    run with Mukendi, Lakela, and Chad. I was born with a weak heart, so running is something I do to make my heart as strong as I can. What about you Reduan?"

"I like playing basketball in my spare time. I'm a basketball player after all." Reduan said. "Besides playing basketball, I like playing games on the game console and sometimes I watch anime too. But I'm more into shounen superpower series. What I like to eat are hamburgers. What about you Bella?" 

"Me? I like spending time with my friends. My favorite dish is cheese spaghetti. Furthermore I watch action, drama and romance series in my spare time as well. I'm not really into anime though." Bella said.

"Anime has different genres so there are also action, drama and romance anime. You should check them out." Reduan said.

"Do you have any recommendations?" Bella asked.

"Sure. I'll send them to you on the phone." Reduan said. "We should watch them together some time."

"O-Oh c-cool..." Bella said taken off guard. "What about you Aslam?" 

"Sometimes I join Reduan in playing basketball." Aslam said. "I also like reading manga and watching anime of almost every genre. Pizza is my favourite food. What about you Kadilu?"

"I like exercising, improving my martial arts skills. I read too, because I like knowing more about the subjects that interest me such as history. In my spare time I watch anime and read manga of almost every genre as well. My favourite meal is rice with pondu." Kadilu said. 

"Pondu? What's that?" Reduan said chuckling.

"Something African for sure." Bella said. 

"Pondu is made from manioc, derived from the leaves of the cassava plant. Pondu leaves are very rich in carbohydrates and are gluten-free. I find it delicious, especially if my mother prepares it." Kadilu said. "Aida, tell us about yourself."

"I like spending time with my friends. In my spare time I also watch drama and romance series, including the anime ones. My favorite dish is Moroccan couscous. I don't really do much concerning sports." Aida said. 

"You'll have to move your body every once in a while." Aslam said. 

"Oh don't mention it." Aida said. "What about you Mariya?"

"I like reading books, going out with friends, reading manga and watching anime. Sometimes I watch anime together with Kadilu. My favorite genres are definitely romance, drama, mystery, school, comedy and slice of life. But I can pretty much watch anything though, if the plot and characters interest me that is. I really like chocolates. Concerning exercise, I regularly do cardios in the dojo of my brother." Mariya said. 

"Can I join your cardio sessions?" Aida asked.

"Sure." Mariya said. "Tell us about yourself, Mukendi."

"I like hanging out with my friends and browsing the internet for amusing videos and stuff. Alissa and I have the same friend group by the way, but I guess you guys already knew. I watch anime too, and I like curry." Mukendi said. "And you Aalt?"

"I like hanging out with friends, playing video games and watching anime. I like pancakes." Aalt said. "Now it's your turn, Natalie." 

"I like hanging out with friends too. Sometimes I play video games with Aalt, though I'm not really into them. I watch anime too. And I like Dutch mini pancakes." Natalie said.

"I love all of you guys!" Alissa said happily. "Today we got to know more about each other. We have become the closest of friends in such a short period of time. Let's all take a picture to capture this beautiful moment!"

"What a great idea!" Aida said.

"Do we really have to take a picture?" Kadilu said.

"Yes we do." Mariya said.

Alissa gave her phone to Miss Wolken.

"You want me to take a picture of all ten of you?" Miss Wolken asked.

"Yes please!" Alissa said. 

The ten were ready for Miss Wolken to take the picture. 

"Okay everyone! I'm about to take the picture!" Miss Wolken said. "Three… two… one."

Miss Wolken took the picture.

Alissa had the brightest smile, and Kadilu had the slightest smile.
