This story is about fairy highschool students,the way of life of fairies and some things you never knew about fairies.

After a while i was in queen's cabin. Then i spoke,"so, what is the reason you are helping me? I'm sure that it wasn't for free." The queen hesitatingly spoke,"Do you know about Light fairies?" I nodded.
The fairy race have three type of fairies - Light fairies, Dark fairies and White fairies. Light fairies are the one who harness the power of light. Dark fairies are just opposite as they harness the power of dark. Whereas the White fairy are hybrid fairies as they harness the power of both - light and dark. The scholar told me that they were light fairies. All types of fairies reside on the mountain of fairies but on different locations.
The queen spoke,"we, white fairies have to rely on dark and light fairies to harness our powers. Both light and dark fairies rely on day and night for energy and white fairies have to rely on twilight (when day and night are same. In other words in the moment of sunset or sunrise). Time period of twilight is short compare to the day and night. So, our powers are very weak compare to other fairies." Then i asked," So how you have to rely on light and dark fairies for your power ?" Then the queen told me accompany her to top of the castle. 
We reached to the top. From the top, the view of whole kingdom of white fairies was visible. There was big fountain in the middle of city which was giving out waters which colored neither light or dark. While pointing towards the fountain, queen said,"that is the twilight fountain. It gives out the power to the rest of the white fairies in the kingdom. The water which you see contains the power of twilight which mixes in air which helps us to harness our powers." Then the queen turning towards me said," The light and dark fairies also have fountains in middle of their kingdom, so the rest of them can harness their powers. But they also have some unwanted particles which harms them. The light fairies kingdom use light fountain, but they also have some dark particles mixed with light particles which later harms them. And it is same with the dark fairies kingdom. The dark fairies kingdom use dark fountain and they also have some light particles mixed with dark particles. So we collect the unwanted particles from both of the kingdoms and using our power we made them to perfect twilight form which helps in harness our power. But lately the unwanted contains more dark and light particles then usual which is very hard for us to purify. And we need your help for this matter."
Then i asked,"How do you need my help?" The queen said," Though we don't know properly, in our records it is said that after the continent of Aries, there is a island of twilight where it is always twilight. There lies an orb of twilight which have the power to convert the light and dark energy to twilight. So we need you to find the orb and give it to us."
Then i asked," Are you sure that it really in that island?" The queen said," Yes. Because we also had one from sixty centuries but it broke. So, we need it now though, we don't know its location." then i asked," So how i will find it?" She said," If to defeat Aries the ram, then you can ask Aries about its location. and before you go take this." She closed her palm and muttered something. Then a small butterfly came out from the palm and sat on my head then it disappeared. Art (my AI) got converted into goggles and suddenly i felt something odd. I asked the queen about what happened. She said," I gave you the power of white fairies. You can use both - light magic and dark magic. and i converted your tamed creature( she doesn't know about AIs) into goggles as you see fairies are never tamed and are rarely seen in outside of the mountain. And i also gave a pair of fairy wings which will help you to enter and exit the fairy mountain." Then the queen took me to the exit portal from the mountain which connects to the outer world. Then i bid them farewell promising to complete their task and started my journey in the world of zodiac.

Very few people knew how the tiny fairies became the most powerful information specialists in the world. While it was true that their sizes varied among themselves, even the largest fairy would reach only up to a human's knee. The smaller fairies would only be capable of dancing on a human's hand. If they had to fight in battle, their tiny size would leave them at an immense disadvantage.
Size didn't always represent strength. However, the fairy species had been around for many centuries but had never once produced a famous hero or warrior. They didn't have any outstanding natural racial talents apart from their outstanding fleeing abilities. Naturally, the fairy species also never had any major combat achievements throughout history. Despite this, fairies managed to lead good lives in the Mortal Plane that was rife with competition between species. In fact, fairies maintained their own merchant associations, contact points and intelligence divisions even in human kingdoms that greatly discriminated against them. This was incredible.
There were indeed people who tried to uncover the fairies' secrets. However, such people would vanish without a trace. And when they reappeared, they would blather on about "Fairytale kingdoms," "So many cute little fairies," "This strawberry cake is so delicious, but I'm so stuffed. How about giving it to the little bunnies?" and other such crazed words.
Perhaps it was due to this that ordinary people felt that fairies' countries would be really cute and just like the fairy tales. However, reality and what people thought were two very different things.
"God damn it! The entire world is at war. It's making business so difficult. I guess I'll be having a hard winter this year."
A one-eyed Dark Fairy was currently smoking a cigar. He even held a small dwarven rifle in one hand as he spoke, puffing out clouds of smoke.
He was heavily overweight. Looking at him from afar, he resembled a round ball. However, he also had clear rainbow-colored wings on his back that continuously trembled and sprinkled glowing powder, making him seem like a nice and kind fairy from a fairy tale.
"…But actually I've recently made more profits. Compared to last year's winter, our Black Forest series of magazines have increased sales by 35%. Our best-selling magazine, the Famous Knights series, has increased sales by a whopping 91%. It's mostly our hero figurines, paintings, toys and other such accessories that have decreased in sales."
This Dark Fairy wore a neatly pressed suit and had golden-rimmed spectacles on his face, the type that typically represented wisdom. However, this appeared quite strange on him as this Dark Fairy had a crooked nose, eyes like a dead fish and ugly and disgusting warts dotting his face.
It appeared more—no—it definitely appeared like this Dark Fairy resembled an evil witch in the fairy tales. After all, he had a nose ring and a crooked wooden staff in his other hand.
"…A New Year's Party hosted by the Kasolan Kingdom? Are you an idiot? Why would you report about such a minor event in such a minor country? I'm going to dock your wages… What? Major news that the Kasolan Kingdom will be leaving San Antonio and joining the Mist Alliance will be announced at this party? F*ck! This is big! Gather as much information as you can. I'll immediately send you additional backup and resources."
"Those trolls are beginning to construct their own cities? They didn't eat those pitiful human villagers and are raising them instead? Are you kidding me!?"
As the Dark Fairy talked with another fairy about the magazine's contents, countless fairies were busily working behind them. Some were shouting into black rune crystals used for sending magic messages, while others were shouting into pipes connected to strings. Even more were furiously at work writing articles. This chaotic scene resembled a busy editing department right before a deadline.
They weren't in a green-forested, blue-skied fairy tale land at all, however. They were in a city filled with the trappings of culture. Hordes of people busily walked in the streets, while nearby factories were loudly at work. There were printing factories, toy factories, handicrafts factories and so on—clearly a large variety. The main difference from other cities was that all the people walking down the streets were actually tiny fairies.
The sky was quite overcast with no sunlight to be seen, but the streetlights forever provided lighting. The fairies didn't construct a miniature city for their tiny sizes—it was human-sized, instead. This was mostly because there were other species working here. Muscular giant pixies, which were two meters tall but had slack-jawed expressions that indicated their lack of intelligence, were the tiny fairies' distant relatives as well as their protectors.
This mystical city wasn't located in the Mortal Plane—it was in the little-known Grayshadow Plane. The fairies didn't fear death as they gathered information throughout all of Eich because they weren't actually capable of dying in the Mortal Plane. Their bodies in the other Planes were, in fact, a special type of shadow negative energy projection. If any fairy met with danger, all they needed to do was cancel their projection.
However, this didn't mean that they were undying. They had special bodies capable of living in such a negative energy Plane as they themselves were a combination of energy and life. Fairies were actually an abnormal species made of half energy and half life power. They were like other lifeforms' shadows, and they needed to have other species recognize and know about them to provide them with an energy similar to the power of belief, which would allow them to remain "alive." Otherwise, they'd become nothing more than decayed corpses.
They also needed to constantly replenish this type of special energy. Eating food wouldn't provide them this energy—they were capable of eating actual food but could only taste it. If a fairy said he was starving, this meant he was about to die.
That was why, from ancient times to present, other species had gotten accustomed to these little fairies that were seemingly everywhere, always making the news. In fact, other species even believed them to be members of the Mortal Plane. The fairies also gradually mastered the artform of "keeping a constant presence" in front of the other species in the Mortal Plane.
The fairies were by far the most skilled at establishing information networks and merchant associations even in the most dangerous of locations. The fact that the news and advertising industries were so well developed in Eich was also thanks to the fairies. However, even every other news industry added together wouldn't compare to the fairies' news. No ordinary species could compare to how the fairies could instantly gather information across dimensions.
Of course, in order to constantly remind other species of their presence, they would modify and publish or even create their own legends and stories. And they intentionally gave all the branch offshoots of the fairy species opportunities to appear in such stories, such as the tiny pixies, prankster fairies, shadow monsters and so on[1]. And when fairies discovered that children were the best providers of the "recognition energy" that they required to exist, they established special teams to scare children. There were even great fairies in charge of giving well-behaved children presents at the end of the year just like in a certain legend, the reason why fairies had many toy factories working all year round.
This pudgy Dark Fairy named Blake was the third biggest boss in this city. He owned four toy factories, two printing factories and more than ten magazines, newspapers and editing departments. The "recognition energy" he obtained was more than enough for him to take care of several thousand fairies under him. And as someone who liked to look cool on the surface, he had more than ten wives, among them which included tiny fairies, giant pixies, and even humans and elves from the Mortal Plane.
Why was it said he liked to look cool on the surface? A half energy lifeform like a fairy would have a different way of reproducing compared to normal lifeforms. Fairies would undergo splitting after their energy was filled, and their newly split off child fairy would be completely unrelated to the original fairy. Blake's so-called wives were only capable of providing a tiny amount of recognition energy for him.
And right now this powerful fairy was frustrated. He swore on his beard—the beard he hadn't shaved in 3,000 years—that his business was having the greatest trouble it ever met.
"What? It's fine if our 'food producing' information and news industries don't have any problems, but as my vice general manager, you're too shortsighted. I'm beginning to consider if I should have you fired and replaced."
"I'm sorry—I'm so sorry, Boss! Please tell me what I should do."
Although he knew that his fellow fairies couldn't provide him with food energy, Blake loved to see his subordinates view him with such fear and deference. Blake took a big puff on his cigar and blew several smoke rings before speaking up in a vicious tone.
"Hmph! If it wasn't that an idiot like you has been working under me for 100 years, I would have already done so. You see, the daily necessities business is booming in the Mortal Plane and leisure goods' sales are greatly decreasing. Plus, there are so many species and powerful individuals suddenly popping up after disappearing for a long time. This means a seasonal calamity is about to arrive—a great famine!"
"A great famine?"
Blake's prankster fairy subordinate Albert was rather confused at hearing this. The Mortal Plane was going to have a famine? Or could it be that…?
"We fairies will meet with a famine?"
"Yeah. As long as those foolish veterans start their so-called Holy War, the Mortal Plane's overall population will decrease by a lot. This will also decrease the amount of food energy our species can obtain. Based on records from the past, our population will also decrease at the same proportion as the Mortal Plane."
From a certain standpoint, the fairies' population was directly proportional to the Mortal Plane's population. X amount of humans would be required to sustain each fairy's required recognition energy. If the Mortal Plane's population decreased, the fairies would naturally decrease by the same proportion.
"Equal proportion?"
"In the previous great famine, only 3.7% of our entire fairy species survived. And late into the previous great famine, we even started raising a large number of humans just to supply us with food energy. This meant that probably less than 3% of all humans managed to survive the previous major Holy War."
As one of the incredibly few old fairies who had survived the previous great famine, Blake had long since lost track of how many fairy children had split off from his body. However, just his memories of how bones covered the ground everywhere made him instinctively afraid.
It was only natural for a war which could change which species ruled the world to be catastrophic.
"SO YOU'RE SAYING THAT ONLY 3% OF US WILL SURVIVE THIS TIME AS WELL!!"
*Boom!*
Albert reacted with a terrified shout, causing the other fairies to look in his direction. As a result, old Blake directly fired his dwarven rifle at Albert without saying even a word.
Albert inhaled a cold breath as he felt the bullet scratch his cheek. He immediately calmed down and kneeled on the ground in surrender.
Only now did he recall that his boss's greatest pet peeve was meaninglessly shouting out loud. The previous giant pixie servant who had shouted like that had his true body directly sent to the Mortal Plane. It was unknown what exactly had happened to him, but he had definitely died.
Blake spat on the ground when he saw that he missed. However, he didn't fire his gun a second time. He was rather superstitious and believed that since his subordinate was lucky enough to avoid the bullet, there was no longer any need to shoot him again. This would be wasting the other person's excellent luck.
"'Lucky brat, I hope you're a three this time.' Now you know the origins of this saying among our species which means wishing luck upon others. Don't have such a bitter expression. This time, all of us old ones won't be stupid enough to just sit back and watch. At the very least, we'll try our best to think of ideas to have more humans survive. Tell every single department manager to come here. We need to think of something. The main priority is to tell the humans just how serious things are. Armageddon is right before them."
"But… what are we supposed to do…? Even if we tell humans about it, they won't believe us, right…?"
"I think I really do need a new vice general manager. You're such an idiot!"
Old Blake pointedly stared at the fairy reporters and editors who were now busying themselves with work again. Only then did Albert have a sudden realization.
"You're saying we should publish a special edition? So that we can tell the humans that they're in big trouble?"
"Yep. This will be our information analysis. After so many years, we have a great mastery over the humans' news and information industry. This is the story of a crazy lich who possesses an internal game system and brings catastrophe to the entire world.
“Let’s look at the daily quests today… it’s the damned choose one-of-two-options-type again. Destroy a town with a population of 30,000 people or above; reward: 10,000 evil points. Steal lollipops from 3 children; reward: 1 evil point. If neither of the quests is completed, then 2 points will be deducted.”
“Tsk! You think I’m stupid? If I really destroyed a town, a crusade of Myth-ranked Holy Knights would definitely come hunting me down. Even if I earned the points, there wouldn’t be any life left in me to spend them. I better just go be a kindly lollipop bandit.”
I’ve already had enough of being a notorious lich. Who says a lich can’t be a good person? I’m definitely going to beat this damned system and be an upright and dignified good man.

Philip's POV...
OH MY GOD... What I saw really freaks me out. I never thought that it will send chills over my body, what will happen to our planet. So it means what I dream will really happening? I can't think straight that something terrible will about to happen to our world and it was so creepy that you almost wanted to give up and lose hope...
"I'm so scared..." Diana said. She looks devastated. I never saw her being like that. 
"Me too, I have never been so scared in my entire life," Terrence said gasping of air, he looks so terrified in what he just saw will happen to our world. 
"Me either, You can't predict what will happen next if you can't do anything about it. I'm not scared of dying, I am scared if I can't do anything to save our world." Rhea said... All of us agree with what she said, I never wanted these fortunes. I never realize it will happen so soon.
"So what we have to do now?" Hannah asks.
"We will wait until the globes show what will be our mission or guide us what should we do next," I said.
"What if the globes tell us something like-" She stopped talking when all of a sudden the globe shines and shows something to us...
The globe shines blue, green, and yellow colors. And then it shows a word...
FAIRIES...
After that, it went blank. Nothing shows up again. What was that?
"I think it wants us to get those fairies... Or something we need to get from those fairies?" I said.
"I don't know, I think it gives us a clue for us and I think we have to wait for more if it will show us something again that helps us to know what we need and have to do," Evan said. Once he says that we waited for about 5 minutes or so and nothing came up. Hmm, maybe something that the globes show us. I mean fairies what about them?
"Wait, did we saw the color shines right? Blue, green, and yellow it showed up before the word comes." Diana said.
"Yeah, I saw that before we read the word "fairies," did you saw it right?" Hannah said.
"Yeah, I saw it too... " I said.
"I think I know what the globe wants us to do," Sapphire said so all of us look at her.
"Well, I know what those fairies that are globe telling us but the colors? I never thought about it... Maybe Fairy Iris knows about that colors." She added and all of us gathered all our stuff and walked outside of her house. 
It took almost a few hours before we get where Sapphire was saying... She knocks on the door 3 times before someone opens it. It was a woman an old woman. 
"Sapphire? Is that you?" She asks.
"Yes, grandma it's me, Sapphire," Sapphire says.
"Oh my... I never thought- I mean I was so happy you came back home" She said and hug her.
"Well, I'm not here to stay grandma. There is something I wanted to know and I think you're the one who can help us" She said.
"Okay? Come inside" She said and all of us went inside. I look at my father.
"Go ahead son, I'll wait outside again," He said, I nod at him and went inside her house.
"here, have some tea first," She said and gave us cups for the tea. Once we poured our cup of tea all of us sit at the table facing Sapphire's grandmother.
"Okay, what all of you wants to know?" She asks. They all look at me and I sighed.
"Uh... grandma, Fairy Liz gave me this fortune ball and it shows something about the colors blue, green, and yellow. Then it shows the word Fairies. So I just wanna asks if you know something about those that showed up? Fairy Liz told me that this ball" I said then showed to her the globe that fairy Liz gave to me. "Will give us to guide and mission so we know what we should do" I added.
Grandma Iris sighed and stand up to her chair she went up and I think she was bringing something. When she came back she showed us a big book. I mean a big and thick book. 
"This book was full of Fairies history," She said, then she opens the pages. She showed us what's written in the book, and what we saw amazed us.
"These are the fairies that the globe told you," She said. Those fairies were inside the book shows the picture inside. There was a fairy have wings like butterflies, there also a fairy have tails and wings, and there was also a fairy who doesn't have wings they were so many... And look there are also mermaids. She flips the pages and showed us, mermaids.
"The color blue represents the mermaids, they were the ones who can purify, water, and all the living things inside the waters." She said she shows us all the creatures that have the color blue on them.
"The next is color Yellow represents sunlight which is all of those fairies who have wings like butterflies, bugs anything that can fly are the fairies has the ability of winds and light. But it wasn't that strong... They easily died once their brightness is gone." Grandma says and she shows us those fairies who have wings and these fairies are pretty. I mean I never saw something so beautiful like them.
"And lastly the colored green represents nature... Those fairies were the ones who could move objects like, plants, trees, any living things. 
These colors represent those fairies. Sapphire, I haven't told you this before but you, belong to the color blue fairies. You can talk to the mermaids but don't bring your friends to those creatures especially these boys. The boys can be a target to those mermaids, they will sing so beautifully, and once all of you boys are attracted to that sound all of your minds went blank." She said and I, Evan, and Terrence look at each other then we both look at grandma who is busy looking at the book.
"Grandma, are you serious?" Sapphire said.
"Yes, Your grandfather went there before he's gone, they say that your grandfather attack by one of those mermaids and it disappears everyone thinks that someone might kill him or might attack him. I don't know no one can explain how it happens." She added. After she told us about them, I ask grandma if I can borrow the book and she allowed me to have it.
While we were going back to Sapphire's house I walked next to her and have a conversation.
"Hey, why you're not living with your grandmother?" I ask. But it seems that she doesn't want to talk about that conversation so, I just keep my mouth shut. But a few seconds later I heard her speak, so I look at her.
"The thing is not me who doesn't want to live with my grandmother it was because my parents told me not to get close to her. I don't know why but I think they hate my grandma" She said.
"But why would they hate her?" I ask again.
"There was a time that my mother told me that my grandmother was a dangerous person but she had knowledge that no one can explain it," She said, hmm something is not right about it.
"Did you ask your mother about it?" I ask.
"No, and I don't have any interest to talk about it with them," She said. I sighed, we soon get ourselves inside Sapphire's house we take a rest for a minute before we make a plan for our mission. We talked about all the details before we take a nap. 
After we take a nap, all of us gathered the things that we need for our travel or mission to find those fairies. We first went the colored blue so that means it was from the mermaids. And since her grandmother warned us we need to separate. But our top priority was to make them our allies for the war that will begin soon. So the girls and the boys were separated we will just telepathy contact them to know what is happening if they needed backups. We agreed to separate boys from girls.
After that, we separate ways, them to the west part of the forest de gilder while all of us boys in the east part of the forest de gilder. We were just hoping that we won't encounter those mermaids, I mean we don't know where part of the forest de gilder they live. Also Sapphire says that she doesn't know where it is located.
As we were walking I and my father were walking together while Evan and Terrence ahead of us. My father suddenly spoke to me.
"Son, do you think we can save your twin brother?" He asks. I almost forgot about my twin brother, well I never think of him since the last time I saw him speaking to the grim reaper in the cemetery.
"I don't know dad, well let's just hope that we could save him before the war starts," I said. He sighed, he just patted my shoulders. Why does my father look so worried about my twin brother? I know he's my brother but I can't get worried for him I mean, let's just say he was also part of the grim reapers plan to get me insane so why would I save him? I sighed, another part of me saying it wasn't his fault but another part of me saying otherwise. So, I don't know which of these should I obey.


Philip was just a normal boy, you will find in every other house. He was friendly, cheerful, a very loving kid, everyone liked to be with. But soon his life turned upside down when he met someone at the age of seven.


Since then Philip was no more the same bubbly, happy boy. He changed his identity and learned to live alone. He started having nightmares, blood, death, gory was all he could see now. His life turned into a scary dream he was forced to live.


One day the kids were bullying him when his patience snapped. His furious self wanted to hurt the kid. But he was stunned to find that his wishful thought turned into reality.


But soon he learned that all these dreams are the reality of someone's destiny.


At the age of 15, he decided to change the fates as he could bear no more. Then one day he found out that he had a twin brother that he was the boogie man, that makes all his dreams should be nightmares... And so he decided to change his fate.


But would he be able to do that? Would he think that all of this is just a dream? Come and join Philip on his journey to know more about his destiny.

Unlike another forest as the children had anticipated, the land of the fairies contained blue skies, flat green plains, and clean streams with pearls rather than stone. Many flowers bloomed sparkly gems to replace petals. Brightly decorated buildings crafted from exquisite marble were predominant in the area. No trees were in sight. It seemed like a whole new world. 

Fairies were joyfully minding their own business as the children strolled through this wonderland. An artificial sun smiled at them as it hung over the paradise. 

"W-wait, a face?" Natalie squinted at the sun.

"What the-" Nora started. Even the slime that was indifferent about her transmigration was astonished.

After passing through the forest, the group had abruptly entered this area. Melody stepped down from her throne and led the perplexed group around.

"I was surprised as well! But, all of this isn't an illusion. It's all real! I guarantee it," Melody responded.

"How would you know?" Bridget inquired.

Melody puffed out her chest, "I became a master of illusions once the fairy blood in me reacted to the heart of this dimension. Let me explain inside."

"Sounds shady," Nora replied, "I guess we have no choice anyway."

"It's the princess!"

"Come, come!"

A couple of fairy children approached the group and pulled them into a white palace. Inside was far more spacious than the exterior. 

Porcelain vases, glass chandeliers, carefully engraved walls, colorfully painted ceilings, and anything expensive that one can imagine. The whole interior appeared vastly comparable to the greatest palaces of their former world.

By simply walking through the palace, the children's awe increased in proportion to their skepticism. 

Nora speculated that those fairies were a bunch of Leprechauns who used their gold to build a kind of paradise. 

Soon, the children entered a throne room where a couple was sitting before them. 

One was an attractive male with iridescent wings similar to Melody's. An extremely blinding crown was situated on his shaggy hair. His gentle golden eyes viewed upon Melody.

The other was an alluring beauty with similar golden eyes. On her straight cinnabar hair was a white tiara. Two wings also similar to Melody's protruded from her voluptuous body.

The fairy children who guided the group bowed to the king and queen and departed.

"Welcome, Melody's friends. I am Ron Heartblossom, the king of fairies. And beside me is my lovely queen, Ania Heartblossom. Go ahead and enjoy your stay here in our land," the man gently greeted as he snapped his fingers.

Instantaneously, the group found themselves in a cozy room with sofas arranged in a circle.

"Did he just greet us and kick us out at the same time?" Nora glanced around the room, "So, would you explain to us what's going on?"

Melody wryly smiled, "They don't really like other races, so the fact that our minds are still intact is because of me."

"I remember Farlyn talking about how fairies create illusions and break minds. I'm guessing the illusions we experienced in the forest was a barrier to protect this land."

"Those illusions were apparently mild in contrast to what fairies can really do. If you five were in the forest for longer, the fairies would have come out to enhance the forest's natural illusions," Melody explained.

Melody sighed, "Anyway, let me elaborate on what exactly happened…"

Before Melody Sun's eyes was a golden path to an unknown world.

"Come closer my child."

An archaic voice resounded in her mind.

Treading through the path, balls of light, each a different color, surrounded the fairy. As she wandered closer to her destination, the balls would merge with her wings.

Once the last of the balls was absorbed by Melody, an ethereal spirit pierced Melody's chest. The wisdom of the fairies, no, the wisdom of the spirits flowed into her mind. And, exploded her.

Melody awoke from her slumber. Finding herself on a gorgeous altar overflowing with offerings of jewels, she was confused. Wasn't she running through the forest with Nora and the others?

More importantly, her back ached from being prickled by laying on top of all that jewelry.

"Never would I have ever thought that I would find another fairy with an ancient bloodline. Only royalty would have such," a male fairy lamented as he patted Melody's forehead.

"Who are you?" Melody asked as she slapped the man's hand away.

"I am Ron Heartblossom, the king of fairies, and your father."

"And I, Melody, am your grandfather! Bull****! My father never looked so ugly!" Melody cursed.

Confused, Ron tilted his head, "But, the spirit ancestors granted a child to us?"

Raising an eyebrow, Melody inquired, "Explain?"

"We, fairies, were created by the spirits on a whim. However, a fairy who is closely related to the ancient spirits is only born every century or so. For the last few centuries, no fairy was born with the royal bloodline until now. And, every new fairy that's born on this altar is the current king's daughter. It matters not that your age is slightly off from being an infant."

"But, I heard that fairies are monsters who create illusions to break people's minds to kill them for fun."

"Nonsense! We, fairies, are not monsters, but the descendants of spirits!"

Melody noticed that Ron did not deny the second half of her sentence.

"Now, child, come with me to have a stroll in the land we dwell in," Ron smiled as he tenderly held Melody's hand.

Apparently, fairies did not care about the worth of their riches. Instead, they were creatures who worshipped beauty. 

A long time ago, the fairies would "play" with other races. Sometimes cities would be put under an illusion with the inhabitants unaware that they were stuck in one. Changing the city's landscape through an illusion could cause people to accidentally fall to their deaths or jump into a fire while believing it was water. Other illusions could incite hundreds of people to fall asleep for weeks until they perished due to starvation.

In order to stop the fairies, the humans and dwarves bribed them with magic crystals, jewelry, artworks, and the land they currently reside in. The land was actually a subspace within a stone in the forest, generated from dwarfen technology and the human's rare spacial magic. Since the land was far more fascinating than the outside world, the fairies would never leave.

With the same amount of mana as high-tiered spirits, each fairy could create illusions lasting for years, depending on how many colors were in their wings. In fact, as beings formed by spirits, they only needed mana to sustain themselves. However, if a fairy were to accidentally use too much magic, it would die. Furthermore, they were physically weak.

Ironically, although fairies could trick people with illusions, they could not lie.

Ron continued to rant on and on about the history of fairies and how each piece of artwork was obtained as they strolled through the land.

Honestly, Melody could care less. She was more worried about her companions.

Everytime Melody requested to leave, Ron's gentle gaze would become icy and he would ask, "Why would you ever leave?"

"My daughter!" The queen of fairies, Ania Heartblossom, embraced Melody.

"Don't touch me ugly! You're nothing like my mom!"

Pushing away the woman, Melody froze, "Wait, if a fairy with the royal bloodline is born every century or so, then wouldn't the age gap between Ania and Ron be huge?"

Both Ron's and Ania's wings clearly symbolized their royal bloodline.

Ron laughed at Melody's words, "Haha. What nonsense!"

He didn't answer the question.

While fairies could not lie, they could refuse to speak.

Ignoring Ron's laughter, Melody spoke, "I have a couple of friends still stuck outside in the forest. Can I bring them here?"

"Yes, of course, if it's just within the forest," Ron paused for a moment, "However, you must bring twenty guards!"

Melody gawked at the gaudy throne the fairies made her remain on. Judging by the weight, it really did require twenty fairies to carry it. Despite that, she still went out with her entourage.

"Enough about your little adventures in some kind of fairy tale. We need to get out of here and save Jae and the others," Nora bounced between Wendy's antlers, which created a nest of hair.

Melody frowned, "I have no idea how to get out of this dimension. When I left to find you guys, the other fairies took me out. But, I couldn't tell what they did. Furthermore, the king refuses to let me go."

"We could try looking around and asking the other fairies without the king knowing," Bridget suggested.

"I guess that's all we can do for now," Melody replied as they left the palace.

While walking straight out the perimeters, the children realized that they would always return to the settlement. It seemed that there was a barrier, which prevented the children from leaving.

"Hey, you over there. Tell me how to get out of this land," Melody probed one of the fairies.

"Princess! I am humbly grateful for your presence! Under your wonderful grace, I hope to etch this into my memory for all of eternity," the fairy bowed. 

"Yeah, yeah. Just answer already."

"Why would you ever want to leave?" The fairy tilted its head.

Melody facepalmed. She had received the exact same response from the last thirteen fairies. Furthermore, they would just repeat the question without answering.

"How about we threaten the king? Using you as a hostage," even the normally silent Layla was tired of this as she proposed a solution.

"Whatever, let's go with that," Melody sighed.

"So, unless you let me out, I will die," Melody spoke with deadpan eyes.

The fairy king yelled, enraged, "My daughter! At a tender age of eight is already thinking of suicide."

"However, I don't want to let you go. I've only had you for a day!"

"I can come back later."

"The time difference outside is different from here! You'll age faster and I won't be able to watch you grow up!"

"As I said, I can come back later," Melody grew impatient. Who knew what happened to Jae and the others in the time she spent in here.

"Excuse me," Nora interrupted their argument.

"Insolence! How dare a slime speak in my presence--huh?" he turned toward his wife, "Ania, since when did slimes talk?"

"They never did Ron," she smiled.

"Who cares about that? What I wanted to say was can't Melody just take this world with her? I mean, it's in a rock right?" Nora reasoned.

Ron opened his mouth to counter, but before he could speak, Ania replied, "Sure, why not?"

"Wait, really?" Melody responded in shock.

"Ania!" Ron exclaimed.

Ania glared at Ron, "Let her do what she wants. We'll be able to stay with her this way, so there shouldn't be any complaints."

"But-" Ron started, however, Ania covered his lips.

"Melody, just imagine exiting the space with your friends and you should be out. Remember to come back whenever you can!" 

The queen waved gleefully as the children disappeared into thin air.

On the way there, they had been attacked by fairies more than once.

The meeting room was as bright as the place Mane was stuck in, but it was filled with fairies. All the fairies floated above ground and faced twelves 'thrones'. The thrones were suspended in the air and were occupied by twelve different fairies. Eleven of these thrones were at the same level, with one of the elevated higher than the rest. The fairy that occupied the highest throne was the one who commanded that the others be quiet.
In the dimension called the Dreamscape, this fairy had the highest authority. His authority has granted by the King of the Asgardians, the Allfather Odin. Not only was he the fairy with the most authority in this realm, but he was also the oldest fairy of this realm. He was one of the 12 fairies that had been appointed by Odin himself and had a personal relationship with the powerful Allfather. He was the Dreamscape's Fairy King – King Haaland.
The Fairy King gazed upon the fairy that was kneeling before him – midair – and asked, "You said that three other levels appeared when it was time for him to pick the test difficulty?"
The kneeling fairy was the one who was with Mane only a few minutes prior. Just like she said, she had come to speak to the 'Management' about the strange development concerning Mane's test.
"Yes, Fairy King Haaland. The recommended level displayed was 'Legendary'. Below it was 'Mythical' and above it was 'Chaos'. I came here immediately to report this, just in case there was a mistake" Unlike the way she spoke to Mane, her tone as she addressed the Fairy King was full of respect and admiration.
 After all, although Mane was related to the Allfather, his particular relationship with the God King was unclear. Added to the fact that Mane didn't even know his heritage, she reckoned that maybe he wasn't closely tied to the Asgardian King. And even if he was, she wouldn't feel as awed as she did now, standing before the Fairy King. To her who had never seen Odin and had only heard of him, the Fairy King of her race was a legend. She had nothing but respect for him. Her speech was slower than usual, evidence that she was picking out her words carefully before she let them out.
"Well done. You did the right thing by coming straight to us" The Fairy King nodded his head in approval as he listened to the words of Mane's chaperone.
"It is what any of us would have done, Fairy King Haaland" Mane's fairy beamed in happiness and said.
"My King, is it her mistake?" one of the several fairies that crowded the room asked. Mane's chaperone remained kneeling as she listened to them argue about the information she had brought. All the fairies here were higher leveled than she was. They were all part of the second highest echelon in the Dreamscape. The only ones who had more power than them were the eleven elders and the Fairy King. So, though she felt insulted that they doubted her information, she wasn't in the position to oppose them.
"How about you allow them access to your client's information?" Fairy King Haaland ignored the fairy who asked whether Mane's fairy provided the wrong information, and asked that she display the information she had attained from Mane. The ignored fairy didn't feel any grievance at being ignored by the King. Normally, he wasn't qualified to meet the King, but the special circumstances allowed the fairies that handled the management of the Dreamscape to meet with the King and the Eleven Elders. All what he could think about was how he was going to boast to his friends when he got back, and tell them how the Fairy King had elegantly ignored him. Such was his fanaticism with the Fairy King. Unfortunately, most of the fairies were like this.
"As you wish Fairy King Haaland" Mane's chaperone pushed down the giddy feeling was she experiencing and displayed the panel that had showed up when Mane was asked to choose his difficulty. On the panel were the following words.

"Are there any more doubts about the authenticity of the information?" The Fairy King glanced at the panel for only a short period and asked. Just like the King, the 11 elders only took a cursory glance at the panel before they turned their attention elsewhere. The excited chaperone didn't miss this.
'They know!' she exclaimed in her mind. Their lack of surprise; the cold eyes that showed very little emotion at the unusual information; and the fact that they didn't take the claims that the information was fake seriously all pointed to one simple conclusion – they knew already. She would have been flattered if they did that because they trusted her, but she knew that was improbable. Not only was she a lower ranked fairy in charge of guiding the tested, she had also never met the Management until today. It was likely that they knew who this boy was.
'Who is he?' she couldn't help but think about the blue-eyed boy. Now that she thought about it, he was only 11 years old. That was one of the youngest ages to be recorded in the Dreamscape. Not only was he young, he had the aura of an earth realmer. He was very outstanding by the standards of the True Universe.
"If no one has any more objections to the information, the 1st elder would explain the circumstances to you all" Fairy King Haaland announced and left the task to the elder seated directly below him. His words meant that all the attention he was receiving fell on the 1st elder instead.
"As you wish My King" the 1st elder extended his willingness to follow the King's command.
"What I'm about to say mustn't leave this room" the 1st elder commanded. The fairies held their breath in eagerness, knowing that they were going to learn of some important secrets today.
"Pardon my rudeness, 1st elder, but does she need to be here?" the fairy who asked about the authenticity of Mane's fairy's information interrupted once again. He pointed to Mane's fairy and questioned her right to listen in on what would definitely be vital information. Other fairies voiced their discontent. They also didn't think she should be here.
Mane's chaperone felt aggrieved as she listened to their complaints. The fairies were a race known for their strict hierarchy. She was a fairy in charge of chaperoning the tested – a low level fairy – but those here were all high level fairies. Although they were numerous, they were barely five percent of the total fairy population in the Dreamscape. They were the elite. It was no wonder that they didn't want her to be here. As she prepared to leave, the Fairy King raised his bowed head and announced,
"She stays"
The room grew quiet at his words as all the protesting fairies were silenced. The King had spoken. They didn't dare to disobey.
The 1st elder nodded and continued, "The known levels of difficulty in our realm are seven: Very Low, Low, Below Average, Average, Above Average, High, and Very High. But Very High isn't the peak level difficulty. There are four other levels above Very High: Mythical, Legendary, Chaos and Origin"
"There is another level above Chaos?" the fairies who thought that Chaos was actually the highest level were stunned to discover that it wasn't. Didn't that mean that there was a monster somewhere in the universe with talent greater than the kid that had arrived?
"There is" the 1st elder nodded without expressing any emotion. He waited for the fairies to grow calm and he continued, "As you all know, the difficulty of the test determines the kind of world that a person would be sent to, and the kind of power they would start with. From Very Low to Average, the testing grounds are all lower worlds. From Above Average to Very High, the testing grounds are higher worlds"
His subsequent words didn't elicit any extraordinary response from the fairies. All the fairies knew this. Even Mane's chaperone who was at the lowest level of the hierarchy knew this.
"But it is a bit different when it gets to the levels above the Very High difficulty. The world one is sent to is completely random, and he/she may have to occupy a different body. Of course this also means that the gains from passing the test are also extraordinary" 1st elder revealed

However, the viewing log wouldn't lie. Despite insisting that they wouldn't watch some "girlie transformation", many boys went back on their word within the next 30 minutes.
Of course, there were also boys who had given up on the show completely.

Compared to the gala that would be replayed a million times and the variety shows, Balala the Fairies might not have been the boys' first choice, but it was better than having nothing.
Because CCTV-14 had mentioned Blazing Teens during the promotion of Balala the Fairies, many boys were intrigued and went to watch the first episode. They switched channels in disappointment after realizing that it wasn't what they had expected, hence the fall in the viewing rate of the first episode.
That was the promotion campaign's fault!

The rise in the viewing rate could be attributed to the returning boys, but what about the 4.58% average viewing rate of the third episode on the following day? That couldn't have been because of the boys.

The debut of Balala the Fairies soon attracted the attention of a large group of primary and middle school students.

Whether it was the young fairies, the "Dancing Baby", or the foreign live-action magic-themed shows, as long as they were feature shows targeting teenage girls, the message was pretty much the same.
With that theme, there wasn't much the script could do. The screenwriter would be considered to have done a very decent job if they could come up with a positive, cheerful, and all age group appropriate story.
Balala the Fairies became a great hit!
Compared to Blazing Teens, Balala the Fairies' success was unprecedented. Viewing rate wise, it had set another milestone for Pengda Pictures.
It was the first month of the new lunar year, when all major TV channels were on vacation.
Even so, the heads of the TV channels had instructed the channels to start showing Balala the Fairies as soon as possible, so as to make use of this great trend.
