Month 1, Week 1, Day 5:

 [Enigma] the person everyone believes is the leader of the Haven Faction raided an Angel Faction pocket world killing one exorcist, injured multiple guards, and knocking out 5 ultimate class angels under the command of Pure Angel Gabriel. It was rumored that after the arrival of church reinforcements lead by Vasco Stranda was [Enigma] forced to escape from the pocket realm suffering major injuries. 

Month 1, Week 2, Day 2:

 The son of the leader of Chicago's major mage faction was assassinated. After some investigating, they claimed it was done by a member of the Haven Faction, and demanded an explanation from the accused faction. Haven replied saying that the leader's son angered too many people and was killed by his own arrogance. This caused the faction leader to rage and vent his anger on the factions within the vicinity of Chicago forcing people to submit or die.

Month 2, Week 1, Day 1:

 The leader of Chicago's mage faction now 5 times the size it previously was, declared war on Haven swearing to use Haven's death to avenge his dead son.

Month 2, Week 1, Day 2:

 The now recovered [Enigma] marched 10,000 soldiers and 12 dragons towards Chicago. Accompanying [Enigma] was a squadron of highly skilled mages on par with Chicago's upper echelon. Haven's main forces meet with Chicago's forces at the gates of their faction, but the fight only lasted 15 hours. 

 The reason was that a group of Shadow Clansmen a race of shadow monsters previously thought to have been extinct snuck into the enemy faction's compound and sabotaged many of the faction facilities. The Chicago faction now forced to fight on two front had no choice but to have their faction leader come out and try to stabilize the situation. Sadly this led to his immediate death at the hand of [Enigma].

 Seeing their leader fall right before them, all the faction members lost their fighting spirit while some feel to the floor dejectedly and other cheered in joy. That day Chicago's Mage Faction meet its end and was taken over by Haven.

Month 4, week 3, Day 7:

 The Chicago's Mage Faction that was previously defeated two months ago reopened as a subsidiary to Haven, while also doubling as an outpost for Haven forces. The faction may have shrunk in territory size but their combat power and base defenses were now way beyond what they previously were. It was even reported by the Grigori that the factions attack and defense formations resembled that of old dwarf formations only these were more advanced than the ones in the past.

 Hearing this many old factions started to remember the power the dwarves had before their sudden near collapse and shivered at the thought. Not only did Haven have strong military power but they also had strong technological support from a race who was known for not only construction but also rune formations. Even some of the oldest factions still relied on old formations built by the dwarves.

Month 5, Week 1, Day 3:

 Multiple new factions started to appear throughout the globe. Japan's Kyoto, Egypt's Cairo, Brazel's Rio De Janeiro, India's Mumbai, and Australia's Sydney all of them suddenly gained one new faction within their ranks. However, all of these factions had one thing in common and that was their size and similar defense and attack formations. It wasn't until later that day that all of them were declared as Haven Faction Outposts.

Month 5, Week 3, Day 4:

 Haven's outpost factions have started to gain a strong foothold in the cities they resided in and this caused a lot of dissatisfaction from other factions in the area. It was still within the manageable range during the first month but, it all changed when Haven started sheltering individual settlements full of supernatural beings. These beings were a decent source of income for some factions who made those settlements pay commissions and the fact that Haven had taken them under their care enraged many. 

Month 6, Week 1, Day 1:

 The Egyptian God of Chaos Set attacked Haven's outpost in Cairo, but because Set didn't try to hide his assault on the outpost the forces in the outpost were able to fortify their defenses to handle the god's attacks. The outpost was able to hold on at first but after 2 hours of constant defending eventually, the barriers collapsed and the base was defenseless. Many viewers believed the base was done for, but before Set could even step foot on the property [Enigma] and 4 cloaked individuals appeared before Set.

 Set being the god of Chaos he was, attacked [Enigma] and his group the moment he saw them and that lead to a 2-day long fight between Set and the forces of Haven. During this fight, it was revealed that the 4 cloaked individuals were in a fact humanoid dragon, a giant turtle, white tiger, and Phoenix. Each of them were close to the peak of ultimate rank and each of them assisted [Enigma] in the fight.

Month 6, Week 1, Day 2:

 On the second day of the fight seeing that things were getting out of hand due to all the damage the two sides caused  [Enigma] cast a giant spell that encompassed the fighters and some viewers. All that was left was an empty space, and no one knew what to think of it but eventually, a ripple appeared in the sky, and out of that ripple came a badly injured Set.

 Many wondered how he received those injuries but, before anyone could think of a reason Set escaped the area with a look of pure fear on his face. Eventually, the ripple in the sky widened and [Enigma] and his team still floated in the sky appeared. Without uttering another word they returned to the outpost and reset the formations before leaving the public eye.

Month 6, Week 1, Day 3:

 2 days have passed since the fight in Cairo with Set but, it was reported that Set not only suffered major injuries but also went into a state of suspended animation to prolong his life while having his subordinates slowly heal his wounds. Even with these conditions, it's unlikely that he will wake up any time soon.

 Baffled by this news people started to wonder what happened during the fight, even going as far as to use mind magic to read the memories of those who say the whole fight. Unfortunately, when the results came out it was discovered that their memories were wiped and any knowledge on the fight was nowhere to be seen. Experts everywhere tried to regain these memories but in the end, couldn't and many were forced to give up their hopes of finding out the truth.

Month 7, Week 2, Day 1:

 A month had passed since Set's attack on Haven, and once again smaller factions began to cease their opposition against Haven but there were still those who tried to hinder the growth of Haven. However, their resistance didn't amount to much since people knew that unless a god level being assisted them they could even dream of damaging Haven's foundation. Some actually tried to receive assistance from a good, but not all gods are as free as Set. Many of them had certain restrictions hindering them from interfering, so even if they wanted to help they could unless they were prepared to suffer the consequences afterward.

 Thus, in the end, no one was able to stop Haven, but this didn't stop people from scheming against it. If they couldn't get a god to help them than they'd just have to outnumber Haven and destroy any of their footholds on earth. While Haven did continue to run their businesses as normal, it became known to many that [Enigma] was nowhere to be found neither was the four cloaked beasts that assisted him in the fight with Set.

Month 7, Week 4, Day 3:

 Believing that a majority of Haven's main fighting potential was unable to fight due to the injuries they sustained in the fight with Set, large bands of mages, rouge devils, and other supernatural beings started to make constant raids on Haven's outposts.

 These teams consisted of peak high ranking fighters as well as a good number of ultimate ranks and they had one goal in mind which was to destroy Haven's outposts. This plan seemed to be successful in the beginning, since they were able to breach the outpost's defenses and kill or injure a lot of Haven's personal, but before they could celebrate their success Haven reinforces came and it was anything but small.

 From above the skies of all the outposts was a giant silver magic circle filled with many complex and mysterious runes. The mages who saw this were shocked in awe of this magic circle and many tried to study it, but before they could a loud raw was heard and before they knew it dragons started to emerge from within the magic circle.

 In each outpost location, there was a magic circle in the sky and each one released around 10 fully grown dragons, some of which carried around 500 soldiers. Alongside those soldiers were many beasts, elemental spirits, Shadow Clansmen, and even some ultimate class fighters with the ability to fly. All of them dropped from the sky and began their attacks on the enemy forces. 

 The fight went on for hours but in the end, Haven was able to either capture or kill the intruders. Some of which were leaders of factions, and some were paid mercenaries, but in the end, they meet their match against Haven and were made prisoners.

Month 7, Week 4, Day 6:

 It took 3 days for Haven personal to repair their outpost and manage the prisoners, but right as they were about to go and weed out the rest of the enemy factions, the Angel Faction one of the factions that previously didn't interfere with worldly affairs made an announcement. The claimed to have given asylum towards the survivors of the enemy faction and stated that if Haven continued to pursue them that they would stop them.

 Apparently, some of the higher-ups in some of the factions requested asylum from the Angel faction stating Haven to be a power-hungry group of terrorist. With these claims along with Haven's previous actions and their previous feud with Haven, the Angel faction did hesitate much with siding with the enemy faction over Haven. 

 Many wondered what Haven's next move was, but to their surprise, the first to make a move was not Haven but the Grigori. Azazel founder and acting Governor of the Grigori declared that if the Angel Faction were to fight against Haven than the Grigori would fight with them. After that factions from Egyptian Mythology, the Carmilla Faction, and many other small factions also stated their will to side with Haven.

 This left the Angel faction in a tough spot since if they fought there was a chance that they'd lose, but also that their fight might cause the peace in the world would be at risk. Some forces had even decided to side with the Angel faction in hopes of defeating Haven and the Grigori. At this point, things were about to reach the point of no return, and the Angel Faction didn't know what to do. Should they go to war, or should they ruin their reputation and hand over the sheltered faction members, as they thought this Haven came out and declared something to the world?

Month 8, Week 1, Day 2:

 Right, when people thought to prepare for the impending war Haven declared to the world that the Angel Faction can keep the sheltered factions, but in order to avoid a war, they must provide compensation for the damages they suffered in the attack 8 days ago.

 To many, this was Haven's arrogance getting the better of them, but to a select few this was Haven giving the Angel faction a way out. Haven most likely didn't want a war, but they also didn't want their comrades' deaths to be in vain. Thus they wanted compensation in order to compensate the families of the lost.

Month 8, Week 1, Day 3:

 The Angel Faction agreed to the Haven's deal but added the condition that Haven must stop their mercenary business, in hopes of causing any more unnecessary deaths. To the surprise of many Haven agreed after a moment of thought and both Haven and the Angel Faction signed a small treaty between the two factions.

 Ending their mercenary business was a mysterious move on Haven's part is what many thought since other than mercenary work no one knew how they made their money. Some factions went into business, others controlled cities, and some even contributed towards the world economy. As far as many could tell Haven wasn't part of any of these so now they wondered what their next move would be.

Month 9, Week 1 - Week 4:

 In the month since Haven abolished their mercenary business Haven had gone silent only to now appear in the world again but this time it was not in the supernatural world but in the human world.

 Though they might have been under different names, there were many businesses that were traced back towards Haven. There were STEM research facilities that made major breakthroughs in science. Desert farming companies that provided food for not only major cities but also villages in Africa and other countries where people don't get enough to eat. Ocean clean up groups that clean up trash from our shores and oceans to recycle and reduce ocean pollution. Bio companies that were finding new ways to reduce the worlds carbon footprint. Land restoration companies that are working to return land that was previously destroyed due to the influence of human activity.

 All those companies started off small but eventually blew up into major companies in the world. Even if there was some opposition in society they were still going on strong. There was a lot of support towards these companies, and they were constantly making changes to society so even if someone wanted to stop them it would be close to impossible for normal people to stop them. In fact when people in the supernatural world found out that the power behind them was Haven they were thoroughly shocked.

 Was this the same group of killers that caused many to cower in fear? How could they be the symbol of change in one world but the symbol of death in another? Many people couldn't fathom what was happening, but by then Haven had not only become an influential force in both worlds.

 This change made everyone realize that Haven was no longer a small group and that it was now a strong faction that had not only power but also wealth. From this, it was decided that no one wanted to cause trouble for Haven since they knew that trouble would only befall them if they did. 

 In the end, Haven had begun to leave its name in history as the faction that started an era of change one that would affect everyone. And to where that change will lead to nobody knows.

Alex looked around at his growing force and thought 'These people should be trained in a military style that is new to this world, we will need to develop one that can beat the tactics that are used in combat. The only issue is that at this moment in time I have no idea what the normal tactics are in this world, I guess I can go with the core principles of one of the best militarys of my world for now, the Spartans. I will need to breed discipline and strength within my troops for that to work as well as the belief that the people next of them would rather die than fail them.'

Alex Shouted "All of you assemble behind your commanders, your typical day in the group will be as follows. You will start the day with a 3 mile run, anyone who doesn't finish before breakfast will have to an extra mile with the rest of their group, those that finish beforehand as a unit will be given extra food. After the run and breakfast we will march in formation for 6 hours and then break for lunch. We will then march for another 4 hours and break for dinner. After dinner you will have 2 hours of direct training with your commanders, then an hours leisure time and then sleep. Is that acceptable?"

"Yes sir" was the shout back, Alex nodded his head and said" Then lets get in formation and start moving. Infantry at the front, mages in the middle and archers at the back. Eva with me and the rest get your arse into gear. I want to be out of this area by nightfall." While they were marching Alex checked out his own status to see his development after gaining 4 new levels.

Stunned Alex contemplated which ability he should upgrade as he was deciding a new ability and class appeared and disappeared. Then stayed in his status, another notification rang out ' As the host levels up they may naturally learn more skills and abilities. The host can learn them the traditional way by doing the ability or by chancing it on a level up'

'The Class 'Iron General' has been added to the host. The ability 'Iron will' has been added.'

Alex thought this a bit weird for it to be added now, he refreshed his status page and the Class and ability had been added, he simply put it to the back of his mind and spent his one free point to mutate the engulfing sphere skill. 'The engulfing sphere skill has mutated into 'The unholy vortex'. Intrigued Alex looked at his new class and two new abilities in more detail.

The unholy vortex (Magic) (Lvl 6 0/600): Darkness will consume all, the vortex sucks all mana out of its targets and then uses it to multiply itself and detonate in a large area. The spell detonates with explosive dark magic causing insanity to enemies less then the user level.

Happy with the changes in his status and abilities, Alex lead his troops towards the new lands and away from the burning wreck behind them.

Three weeks had passed since the sacking of Basingultch, during this time Alex kept himself removed from the rest of the group and began teaching Eva all she would need to know in order to act as his second.  The first thing he taught her was how she could tap into the darkness within her and turn into a strength, Alex did this by forcing her to stare into a candle. He then explained to her the way to draw out her hatred and how to use it turn the flame on the candle black. He demanded that she did this process without getting angry, if she failed he would simply clip her on the back of the head with his hand and say"Again".

This process went on for nearly a week until she finally manged to remain calm while channelling  the darkness, Alex nodded his head and said"You have done well, we will now move onto dagger combat, go and get some from the carriage and meet me on the sparring field." For the next week Alex beat Eva to a pulp constantly, after a week, she was finally able to parry some of Alex's blows with enough skill to not take recoil from the strikes. Alex looked at her and said" Go and learn archery from Clara, you are not to speak too me until you can hit a target from 50 yards away. After that you can begin to learn the best part, monster taming."

His training of Eva done for now, Alex focused on joining the troops for their training regimes for the final week, seeing their general taking part in their gruelling training alongside them raised the morale of the troops. Alex also ate and talked with the troops regularly in their leisure hour, he began to get to know them on a more personal level, this also extended to his commanders whom he regularly talked too while they were doing their commander specific training.

At the start of the fourth week, the assassins came up to Alex and said" There is a city about a days walk form here, this scroll contains as much information about the city as we could gather." Alex nodded his head and said"You have done well, take a 30 minute break and then continue with your training.

Alex walked up the hill and got a look at the city, unlike Basingultch this city was huge in size and judging by the activity going in and out of the city it was very popular. Alex decided he would set up camp outside the city first and scout it out properly in the morning before deciding what he would do next.

This is a revival of my old novel, after I left it for a while I have decided to rewrite some sections of the original. 

When Alex was diagnosed with cancer his belief in the world plummeted to extremely low levels.

Today it is really strange, I quickly go home by getting the bus, while confronting myself for skipped the class.

I go back home (14 hours left) in between the bus trip, some people are starting to be a bit off in their bodies but I don't really care about some random strangers having different abilities like one of the handsome teenager start to be a bit hairy than normal ...

2 hours from uni to home, it is already midnight, the news is hot now as the whole world is getting notice of the changes in some people. The 1st news is a joke or just really mental sick joke, due to a notice now what everyone thinks they are superman and start robbing banks for money but sadly banks now use mostly E-money (electronic money or banking) which is bullshit as it is hard to account from how many E-money they can so-called print in 0.0 few seconds, 1 dollar can change to 100 dollars, E-money save space and reduce the losses of real money LOL I want to have infinite of E-money ..... buy this, this-this, that, that , that and ..... why no one use hacker to print E-money since it is E that right IT START WITH A E for electronic money like Debit cards, cash cards and etc, it is a better and more affordance / effective solution than printing real money even though the code is hard to copy or edit.

A week ???? just now I get the maintenance notice but now it is ..... looks like an instant, it looks like I do not have to wait for a week start playing, whoever to design this game are a genius as in real life, do you see people have seen notices like this?.

 

I can't believe that I am in real life as only in the game will have such a notice, even in the game these rewards are considered pretty good in a sense. As I count what items I will be getting while checking whether this apartment is my home that I am living now.

Generally SLS people I mean survivors in SLS will have a starting item and random basic equipment and three survivor pack and 10 bronze coins and 1 revive coin

Of course, I am thankful that the system allows me to have more items than the normal people do due to I somehow can the chance to re-register it.

I think why SLS MONSTERS HAVE 30% LESS EXPAND 20% MORE LOOTS is because SLS is one of a so-called richest country in the world to balance it, it is given -30% EXP and 20% more loots as people are going to get rich faster.

 

Never mind about that it is time to see what I am getting. For starting item, there are a wooden stick, handaxe, dagger for selection.

Zombies well Most gamers and readers know what is a zombie is right? Normal humans that know how to use their mouth and arms to attack, like the normal human in appearance but only know how to open their mouth and their saliva dripping on the floor and keep moaning in pain for no reason. Due to the SLS is multi-racial country, Zombies here are a bit harder to discover whether that man or woman is a zombie as zombies have different several skins as more race = more different colour of the skins. Not to talk about the rotting odour that their bodies have, sharper teeth and claws that looks dangerous if you get cut or bitten by that monsters.

Time to get out of my home and start killing zombies for survival.

One fine day, lordol have a dream on preregistered of the certain event, on the next day, he suddenly noticed that his world took a drastic change.

From its earlier peacefulness, he found himself in a world that seemed a dungeon with no escape, where everyone seeks for a safe zone, either by paying, stealing, or building one by using hunt materials earned through their fight for survival.

And then he found himself in a familiar place. This place had been his cage for a year, as he toiled and sweated to get stronger. He looked around, a wistful look in his eyes.
A system notification popped up.
[1 year in the Training Room has been added.]
[Calculating zombie kills…]
[1473 zombies killed.]
The number of 1473 paled in the comparison to the number of zombies Qi Daiyu had killed. The only times he had gone all out, killing zombies, was first in the guard station at his high school, then the time in the supermarket, and finally, the recent battle at the airport. The rest of the time, Qi Daiyu had crippled the zombie he faced, leaving them for his comrades.

Qi Daiyu waited for the final message for some time, looking around the hall as he stood still.
Finally, a message appeared in front of Qi Daiyu.
[Error.]
Qi Daiyu just stared at this message for a few seconds.
Then, profanities that would make a grown man blush streamed out of his mouth, for a good few minutes.
'F*ck this sh*tty system. Whoever made this cr*p system can go die, along with their f*cking mother, father and their whol…'
This continued for some time.
Qi Daiyu only stopped, when another message showed up in front of his face, out of the blue.
[Dear owner, please enjoy your stay in the Training Room for the next 56 years!]
Qi Daiyu took a much longer time to react to this new message.
Like the calm before the storm, his brain was completely blank.
Then it exploded with hundreds of thoughts and considerations.
'Won't I be over 70 before I return to reality?'
'Will I still be sane?'
'My system must have multiplied the original 5.5 years by 10, then added the additional 1 year.'
'Isn't this great? As long as I exercise and practice properly, I could return to reality with unimaginable power!'
'Will I still be the same person, after almost 60 years of isolation?'
Qi Daiyu's running train of thoughts soon came to a stop.
He inhaled and exhaled, calming himself.
There was nothing he could do now, other than to train, and train hard. He would deal with things as they come.
Even if he was a different person 56 years from now, Qi Daiyu didn't believe he would have lost the core principles that he lives by.
Qi Daiyu then blocked out his excited thoughts, focusing on his task.
He turned towards the gym, the same gym he had transformed his weak body into the physical specimen he now possessed.
However, it no longer suited his needs. Stacking on each plate of weight took time, and sometimes there wasn't enough space on the bar for the number of weights he needed!
So, with his tool of imagination, he made 2 adjustments.
The first was to create a highly specialised medical section of the Training Room. He had no idea what kind of physical obstacles he would run into, especially now with 1 arm. The other change was to remedy the uselessness of the gym. It was a gravity changer!
He hadn't even thought it would work, but somehow, a large screen in the wall appeared, showing the different pressure of gravity he could set the Training Room to.
Qi Daiyu got greedy for a second and imagined pills that would instantly regenerate a missing arm, but unfortunately, they didn't appear.
And so, Qi Daiyu's long period in the Training Room began.
Initially, Qi Daiyu's schedule was similar to his last stay in the Training Room. He would get up at early, devote 6 hours to the gym, then rest in physical therapy, and finish the day with another 6 hours of Bai-Hu Sword Practice, before sleeping for 9 hours.
However, he soon realised the ineffectiveness of this training.
About a week in, his Power hadn't improved by much, even that little improvement being him healing from his hidden injuries from the airport battle.
So, he threw away his old plan, and started something completely different.
Throughout is first week in, he had realised that his body was still laden with many injuries from all over his body.
His left knee had almost been grated away, and he felt pain with every step. His lungs were weak, and his breathing was heavy. Worst of all, his right shoulder, the one he used to throw the sword, was in tatters. He felt excruciating pain every time his exerted effort in that shoulder.
What he needed, was to rest, repair and heal.
So, Qi Daiyu began a different schedule.
He slept, much longer, spending about 12 hours in the pod-bed, which boosted recovery.
The 12 hours he was awake, he didn't do much either.
For about 4 hours in the mornings, he would practice Yoga, which gently nudged his broken joints back into place, and increased his flexibility.
He would spend another 2 hours in the gym, not lifting weights, but stretching, running and building a light sweat.
Another 4 hours he spent in the medical facility. Whilst in there, machine would poke and prod his body, pulling and pushing his muscles and bones arounds, sometimes even injecting substance into certain parts of his body.
He wouldn't do anything throughout this, just laying down and letting the machines do their work.
During these different routines, he would always remember to eat, which was always a high-quality meal.
The final 2 hours were spent by himself.
He would do whatever he felt like doing, be it painting, or making music.
These 2 hours weren't spent on the recovery of his body, but his soul.
He thought about a lot of things that he had never bothered to address, from Wei Xialing to Pan Xing. He hadn't ever bothered to think in-depth about his new life in the apocalypse, so this was an enlightening experience.
Qi Daiyu repeated this routine for about 6 months.
At the end of these 6 months, his body hummed in synchronisation, like smoothly working car. His effort had paid off, and he was almost completely healed from his battle in the airport. The only remaining injury was his severed arm, but he couldn't do anything about that.
His power hadn't reached back to his peak state, or even near, but it was progress, having gone from 31 to 48.
This was due to several reasons, the main one being that he now had only 1 arm.
Despite, his major recovery, this wasn't the highlight of his past 6 months.
For Qi Daiyu, the main highlight was his mental recovery. 
6 months ago, his emotions had been in turmoil. He was angry, angry at his sister, angry at the whole Bai-Hu Sect, even angry at Pan Xing.
Now, he was calm. He no longer cared whether his sister craved for power, or if Yan Qiang and the rest had abandoned him. Instead, he cared about strength. In his view, if he was strong enough, he could annihilate the attacking zombies, and either dethrone his sister or force her to tell him the truth. 
After all, it might be one huge misunderstanding.
He would most likely not do anything and just leave, but the main point to him, was that he would be so strong he had the option to.
But first, he had to grow that strong.
And so, now healed and ready, Qi Daiyu embarked on another new schedule, aiming to grow stronger.

Qi Daiyu, a normal teenager, spent his time drawing and making music. He was quiet and calm, preferring no to draw attention to himself. However, the Apocalypse dawned upon the world. Zombies ran rampant, devouring humans.
Caught in the tides of chaos, Qi Daiyu has to overcome the dangerous trials and frightening tribulations, with the help of the laggy system.

I don't remain idle during the six weeks leading up to New Year's.

Using money I'd originally set aside for a V-Haven and game subscription, I splurge on A-grade nutrient solution. When the Nutri-Peak sales lady explains how the bulk orders work and tells me the cost, I freeze, thumb hovering over the fingerprint scanner used for secure payments.

Worried she's about to lose a major sale, the lady starts talking faster, trying to sell me on how great a deal it is. I can't help the half-hysterical laugh that bubbles up, and her face tightens in even greater worry. She must get paid commission. 

She looks around to make sure her boss isn't nearby and leans forward to whisper conspiratorially, "If you commit right now, I can throw in a box of De-Tox Tea and a case of Muscle Mead."

I manage to get myself under control and whisper back, "Five cases, and I'll take the 6-month plan."

"Done!" she agrees, quickly updating the order.

I press my thumb to the scanner, and just like that, I'm 37,050 credits poorer. The saleswoman grins like she's pulled off the greatest scam of her career.

I barely make it outside before my own grin breaks out. 

I cannot believe how much I just screwed over Nutri-Peak. 

37k may seem like a lot, but it's nothing for six months of uninterrupted game time, especially at my neuro-intensity level. Nutri-Peak is underestimating Viren's Refuge. Instead of charging per bottle, they're selling A-grade bulk orders in 3-month, 6-month, and 1-year supplies. To determine pricing for the 6-month, they used the baseline: one 1500 CR bottle equals 40 hours game time equals one week of game time. Then they simply multiplied by 26 weeks and slapped on a 5% discount to make it more appealing.

V-Havens store four bottles of solution at a time, so as soon as the fourth bottle is accessed, an alert is sent, and the next shipment is delivered same-day. Nutri-Peak must think most players won't come close to 40 hours a week after the initial fervor dies down, especially since the server's only open during the middle of the day in the US. And since the 40-hour benchmark is actually for the lower C/D-grade solutions, they're expecting closer to 60 hours of game time per bottle of A-grade. They're planning on making a ton of money when players only use 1-2 bottles per month but their subscriptions charge them for 4.3.

Fucking joke's on them. Considering I'll be spending the max-allotment 12 hours a day, 7 days a week in-game, and my neural output is almost twice the average, I'll be going through 3 bottles every week. 

Sucks to suck, Nutri-Peak.

If I had the money, I'd buy the 1-year plan with its beautiful 8% discount in a bloody heartbeat. Unfortunately, by the time I make enough money in-game to upgrade, I'm sure they'll have realized how badly they miscalculated. 

Figuring it's best to keep this momentum going, I head to the gym near my apartment. It's exactly what I'm looking for: open 24 hours, decent equipment, enough free weights for my needs but not enough to attract a horde of Grunters who'd transform the place into a meathead Testosterone Pit. Plus, the gym offers mixed martial arts classes four nights a week. 

I manage to negotiate a reduced rate by paying a full year membership up front, and they offer a discount on one month of personal training.

My trainer's name is Ken, and he looks exactly how you'd expect a personal trainer named Ken to look. It's almost enough to make me quit before I've even started, but I persevere. 

I keep reminding myself it's all for the game.

I do my best to ignore his frat t-shirt with the sleeves cut off to showcase his tanned muscles (even though it's winter in Seattle for fuck's sake; no one's seen the Sun in months) and calmly explain my goals: Gain lean muscle. Enhance flexibility and agility. Improve endurance. 

Ken responds with an encouraging smile. His straight teeth are so blindingly white my eyes water. "Can do, bro!" He slaps my back. I wish I had my dual blades. "Ken's got you. Ken knows just what you need!"

Ken refers to himself in the third person. 

Of course Ken does.

I remind myself if I kill Ken, they won't let me bring my V-Haven to prison.

Anything for the game, right? Sighing, I let Ken drag me to the agility course.

"For shame, Deion, better not let your husband hear you flirting." I flutter my eyelashes at my neighbor as I unlock my door.

Deion's concerned frown lightens at my easy teasing. He'd been worried about me, again. I swear he and his husband order shit online every day just so they have an excuse to 'coincidentally' be in the hall picking up packages when they hear me coming.

I amp up my trademark smirk and let him know for the millionth time that I'm fine. Really, truly fine.

Relieved, he winks at me. "Theo knows he's the only one for me. Like I could give up his big, beautiful di—"

"Dimples!" I interrupt loudly. "Psh, we all know mine are superior. And speaking of superior, how's my traitorous dog's real best friend doing?" I ask the nine-year-old boy who's appeared in Deion's open doorway. Deion chokes, and if his skin weren't dark brown, he'd be bright red. 

"G'morning, Eric!" Deion and Theo's adopted son Robbie says, loud and energetic as ever.

I raise a skeptical eyebrow. "It's 7 at night, Robbie."

"Yup, so, like mid-morning for you, right?"

I mean, he's technically not wrong. "All right then, good morning to you, too."

"Need me to walk Pix?" Robbie asks, wiggling in excitement. "You don't look so good."

Ouch. 

In my defense, I'm more exhausted from the effort of not strangling Ken with an exercise band than from the three-hour work out, but I still look like death.

Deion laughs so hard he needs to lean on the doorframe. I glare at him, then with a somewhat softer expression, I turn back to Robbie. "Thanks, but I took him for a long run today, so he won't need to go out until later." I can't handle Robbie's slump of utter dejection, so I add, "Never fear! He'll be needing walks every day again, starting in January, so he'll get plenty of time with his favorite little dude."

Robbie literally jumps for joy. It's stupidly adorable. "Yay! I can't wait! But don't feel sad, Eric. Pix loves you, too! Even if he likes me better!"

As Robbie runs back into the apartment, I don't know whether to laugh or cry at the little dude's blunt savagery.

"It's your fault he's so shameless, you know," Deion says, pushing off the doorframe.

"How do you figure?"

Deion just looks at me. 

I look back, wide-eyed innocence. 

Deion snorts. "Thanks for the save, earlier."

"I'm telling Theo next time I see him."

"You're dead to me." Deion stomps into his apartment, and laughing, I go into mine, ready for a beer and a bath.

My dog Alopix (yes, after the Alolan Vulpix Pokémon, fight me.) is waiting by the door, and I decide to believe the Samoyed's spirited tail-wagging is purely enthusiasm about my return, and has nothing to do with him hearing Robbie outside. 

I carry my first Nutri-Peak deliveries to the table and open a bottle of Muscle Mead. And as part of the icing on the cake, he somehow gets a system, Curiosity system. Hard Work alone cannot make an extraordinary person, luck works hand in hand with hard work. And our protagonist isn’t short of luck… until obstacles start to hinder his path.

The world, which is called Zamin, on which Raj lives is not normal at all. Although it has its own kind of wars and threats, it is quite different from our earth in sense of religions and races which altogether changes history and technological advances. There are some similarities too, which includes an education system, an industrial system, and a government. The thing that makes it a truly unique world is that this world doesn’t only have humans on it. Anything further is anyone's guess.

Just like he was told, they arrived just after noon.  William's convoy had been traveling this route for years so, barring unforeseen weather, they had the times down to the hour.  At first, Joseph thought it was a town they were approaching, but as they got closer, it appeared more and more odd.  No street children could be seen.  There was no trash or dung in the streets.  Everyone they saw would do a half noble bow to the carriage.  A full bow was 90 degrees and only given to a king or prince.  A 45-degree bow was given to nobles.  The other slave traders he had seen, forced their slaves to kneel.  He understood it was meant to reduce their humanity; a sign to show not loyalty but domination.  He had never seen this bow before.  It made sense to not perform a noble bow as that would cause issues because his father was only a merchant and not granted a title, but somehow, he felt complete sincerity from these people towards his father.  This is what he wanted from his people when he became a king.  
A simple manor came into view.  It was his father's residence when he stayed, but also served as a training place for maids and butlers. The maids were all lined up in a row and had quite the impact, when they pulled up.  Joseph was really expecting a "welcome home master" call from them as the door was opened.  It must have come from life 1 or life 2 because he had no idea why he would be expecting it otherwise.  These random triggers were the weirdest thing sometimes.  
His father led him to an extravagant dining room and they were helped into seats.  The dishes came out while he was distracted, thinking of his previous lives.  His dad was served and then him and then the other servants.  A few older slaves stood at the side observing while the younger ones served them.  They never spoke but minor hand signs had the trainees quickly correcting their errors.  Joseph was very impressed.  
"Wow, dad! This is delicious!  It's so much better than back home, much less the places we stayed at."
His dad replied with a smile, "I'm glad you're impressed. It was cooked by your new teacher."
"Wait.  You keep a mage in the kitchen?"
"Well, where else would I be? You must be the young master," a short man said, as he pushed the last food cart out of the kitchen.  "All of us have been looking forward to meeting you.  It's kind of a matter of life or death for us after all. Your father has been planning to bring you around for years."
Dad chuckled and said, "Stu, I'm sure my son will be even more amazing than I shortly."
"Wait, did you seriously name the chef Stew?"
"Coincidence, young master, I assure you.  I would have preferred Omelet."
Joseph couldn't help it.  He laughed so hard he snorted.  Somehow, he thought learning magic was going to be a lot more fun than he originally had expected.
After lunch, the dessert was delicious, too.  His father took them to his office.
"The boy wishes to learn magic.  It will be at least another month before we arrive at number 5 so you will be his only teacher until we pick up Selena."
"Are you wishing for me to travel with you, Master?  Normally you only remain here for about a week before traveling on.  It will be very difficult to teach him much in only a week."
"I feel that you are capable of great things.  Surely you will be able to pull off much in just a week's time."
Stu turned to look at him, his eyes betraying his incredible level of doubt.  He gazed at him for a few minutes, then turned back to his father.
"I'm sorry to say this, Master.  Your son has very little potential."
"Just give it a try.  I'm sure he will surprise you."
Joseph had never seen his dad smirk like that before.  
"Of course."
Turning to him again, Stu's frown grew.
"This way young master. As it is your father's orders, I will be being rather strict with your studies."
"I can take whatever you dish out, Stu," he said with a smirk.
Joseph settled into a chair, on the other side of the room as Stu paced in front of him with his hands held behind him.
"Oh, where to start.  Alright.  Magic, true magic, has been lost for centuries.  Legends tell of mages that could directly speak the draconic words of power but no dragons have been seen in an elven lifetime.  All that are left are the draconic runes.  However, draconic is an incredibly difficult written language as well.  There are only 26 rune words.  Each word deals with a primal school.  Very slight modifications to the rune word entirely changes the effects.  Slight modification can also completely fail.
"Understanding the principles behind the rune word will automatically inform you of what modifications are required.  Simply memorizing the form of the runes is difficult.  Increasing your understanding of each rune takes time and comprehension.  
"I devote myself almost entirely to studying to the FOOD rune.  Even for some of my modifications I have to learn other runes.  Purifying water for cooking requires understanding of the WATER rune.   Turning water into ale uses the FOOD rune but without enough understanding of the WATER rune, you will never comprehend how the FOOD rune needs to be modified.  Even if I drew the modified rune directly and you memorized it perfectly, you would produce weak results even with extreme amounts of energy until you understood it.  Many apprentices have directly spent their life force and dropped dead trying to shorten the process with modified runes.
"The next step, is visualizing the runes using your internal mana in the external world.  This cannot be bypassed.  Casting magic is similar for all runes, in this step, but must be learned for each rune or modified rune.  Most non-mages refer to these as separate spells but that is rarely used amongst mages."
After Stu drew the rune in the air, I memorized it instantly thanks to the system enhancing my memory.  However, as I concentrated on it, the rune seemed to move and change.  A system prompt showed up.
