When I began writing the biography of Death, I was not sure where it would lead me. Real life inspiration and the darkest recesses of my mind competed to see which could be the more sinister. To a large extent I blindly followed them, and merely wrote down whatever sweet songs of madness they crooned to me along the trail. 

Like most writers I wrangled friends and relatives into giving me feedback. One, a millennial snowflake, was invaluable. They seemed to consider this fantasy nightmare I had created, to be some sort of manifesto. For the record this book is pure fiction. Fiction inspired by real world events in a few cases, but fiction nonetheless. Like all works of supernatural horror, this book is meant to be entertainment. It is perhaps a meditation on the zeitgeist of the modern west, but it is still as fictional as 1984 or A Christmas Carol. 

Another person seemed bothered by the apparent moral contradictions in my lead character. To this I can only say that a man is the sum of his contradictions. People love to apply the rules to others, but find reasons to grant themselves exceptions to their own rules. I did not want an incorruptible white knight monster. I wanted a complex and thinking human monster. To my way of thinking his inconsistency was his most human feature, even after he leaves his humanity behind. 

Should anyone find a mirror image to themselves in these pages, then it is only their own ego. The sum of this work has been so thoroughly washed in the waters of horror and fantasy that no living or deceased human could ever be reasonably compared to its contents. 

No rational person could ever compare the buffoons portrayed in these pages to a real life counterparts. Any person contending to the contrary is either a snowflake melting in the flames of my mad vision, or a lunatic in desperate need of having their mental faculties examined by a competent professional, I have time for neither. The fact that this book is fiction cannot be over emphasized.

Death, a Biography, is a fictional horror novel. It is crass, violent, profane, and not meant for the light hearted reader. Imagine living in a world surrounded by fools. For years your frustration grows, and no matter what you try to do you cannot free yourself from the preverbal ideocracy. Nom DePlume is just such a man, only one day he is granted the dearest wish of his heart. Nom, a grad student working as a truck driver is: intelligent, well educated, and the sort of person who always can find a reason to have a chip on his shoulder. Sypnosis: 

A thousand year old which living in the modern world suddenly gets transfered to the world of novel while working on a spell. Not only does she goes inside the book she takes in 2 innocent girls along with her. Soon the witch realises that she is the main villain of the novel "Isabella DeCruz" and the and 1 from the 2 girls is one the female lead while the other one is just an extra.    

Soon they realise that the book that they are living in, is not actually same one. It's going different. 

The other 2 female leads are not so sweet and nice, the male leads have some issues, the Villainess was made a villain and the side character is more than a side character. 

"If they want me to be the villain, then I will be a worse than a villain."

After the book appeared in my hand it unfurled its pages after flipping through all of them it abruptly jumped to the first page of the book. In a bold heading, it said 'Book of Reality written by  Fakt for the one who can wield the rule of reality.' Directly under it read, 'Another three will hold this power, one for each sentient race. Each book will contain a piece of the rule of reality, to gain the entire rule one can follow two paths: One, kill the other 3 holders and obtain all the power for yourself, Two, gain your own insight on the rule of reality and develop your own understanding of it. Both methods will give you power but the second is significantly harder, but in the end, will have more power. It is up to you to decide what method you will choose but choose wisely. If you choose option one say I choose one if two say two, the book will adapt to what you choose.' 

After reading the text I instantly said "two." After, the book glowed with a red light and then change from a leather book into a book covered by metal, as if it was trying at all costs to protect itself. It probably was because some of the other holders would try in the end to take it from me. This thought caused me to get scared because I had no background, no powerhouse behind me. This would cause troubles with good gear and weapons. Wait, I don't even know the ranking system in Reality. 

After this, I asked the Mind practitioner "How is gear ranked in this world?" 
he then responded with  "All gear can be classified into 7 grades, that give different percentage boosts to attributes. the lowers is common with a maximum of a 10% boosts to main stats and 3% to minor. Uncommon is next with a 20% cap of main stats and 5% on minor. Rare with 40% max main stats and 10% to minor stats. Epic with 70% max increase to main stats, 20% to minor, and 3% to special. Legendary with 120% maximum to main stats, 40% to minor, and 5% to special. Holy/Unholy with 180% maximum to main stats, 70% to a minor, and 10% to special. The final is Saint with a 300% maximum increase to main stats, 120% to minor, and 20% to special. I'm going to answer your next question before they come. No, the maximum percentage value is almost never given, most of the time it has a lower percentage of increase. Only top-level gear has the maximum. Minor stats are unlocked by special actions like if you read a lot you will unlock the reading stat. Special stats are unique to each person, they are almost impossible to option. Each new tier because of apparent at different level points; common - rare at levels 0 - 30, rare to legendary at 30 - 100, legendary to saint at levels 100+. These are not definite marks though. All the lower tier gear is found at the next tier, but the only really useful ones are from the ones in the tier. I'm confident that there are other gear grades but these are the ones that I know. The stat increase don't stack, they only affect the baseline stats and then are added together, increases from bloodlines apply to the stat after the gear is factored in. "

Good day, everyone. I'm the fresh new author Gu Zhen Ren, and I just entered the world of webnovels; this is going to be the first book that I'm writing.

Hahaha I'm kidding.

Back to business - I always think that a book's introduction is considerably important. After all, when you pick up a book you'd read the prelude first, since the prelude is what tells us what the book is about.

About <<Gu Zhen Ren>> the novel --

Many brothers and sisters, friends and readers are all rather worried.

When this book was affected by the ban, until today I would receive many messages everyday, asking me about the situation of the novel and when would it begin updating again.

The situation of the novel at the moment is: still in ban phase as ever, yet it doesn't mean that all hopes of lifting the ban is gone! This book has been the tireless efforts of 6-7 years of my sweat and tears. Anyone else is welcome to give up, but I will not.

The reality is indeed that right now, it cannot be updated!
The biggest reason is the current environment of the webnovel community.

There are no extrinsic conditions that enable me to update new chapters. On one hand is the state policy (I believe it will be adjusted better in future), and on the other hand is the end of contract with the webnovel site; thirdly, the reports from a certain group of readers and people of the same profession.

In this world, I am the person who wishes to see the completion of the novel <<Gu Zhen Ren>> the most.

During the period of <<Gu Zhen Ren>> getting banned, I went through the biggest crisis of my writing career. I then faced depression, and even almost had to say goodbye to my author occupation.

The course of events was full of pain and suffering, and everyday I went through torment.

Just like this, day by day, month by month, I slowly managed through it.

On the outside it was calm and quiet, while inside my heart waves surged like a roaring sea; in a world without justice, I walked between sheer cliffs and precipitous rocks. I could not see the light, and I could not see the road.

No one else could help me but myself.

Right now, I can once again face everyone with a smile.

Maybe it was Fang Yuan's spirit that was supporting me -- perseverance, silence, hard work. I can be beaten over and over again, but I must never be defeated for good.

In the period of time there was caring, hope, and much doubt, but also much anger. (Note: Probably referring to the fans)

I wanted to open my mouth and answer, but I could not.

I locked myself away for a time, lacking the strength and heart to reply to all of it.

I was like a lonely boat, drifting about in the surging waves over a vast body of water under the night.

I relied on the slow trickle of time, managing bit by bit.

Slowly I gathered something from my torment and suffering; I summarised my past experiences and I was constantly in deep thought.

Finally I have returned with my answer -- the new book of 2020 -- <<Wu Xian Xue He>>.

I spent around 2 months constructing the structure of the new book's main story. Speaking just about the framework of it, I'd say this book is even more outstanding than <<Gu Zhen Ren>>.

I even spent a lot of effort to construct a naming system for the fantasy characters in the book. I think that English translated names are easy to make people confused and would be hard to remember. At least that's what happens to me. However, chinese names on the other hand are subject to different tastes, so this time I did a little new innovation. Basically, the character names in the new book all contain some meaning.

Let's introduce the new book in more detail!

Firstly, on the name <<无限血核/Wu Xian Xue He>>, it's in fact not of the 无限流 (infinity style?) genre. I'm very satisfied with the novel's name, for I had given it much thought before finally settling on it. It fits very well towards the novel's main theme. You'll understand when you read it.

Secondly, the novel leans more towards slowburn, sort of like 群像剧 group image? style, arena style. Every person has their own demands and stories. The main character could also fail.

Thirdly, the updates will be slower. This novel is quite different from most novels, as quality will be the main focus over quantity here. Since the composition is too precise, there could even be adjustment periods. During these periods, new chapter updates might stop, as I will go through the editing process. Basically every now and then for this novel, I will be returning to previous chapters to do repair/editing. I might add new plotlines in previous chapters, or might even change a character's narrations/actions. I will give a heads up on every change I make.

Sara found that three more stats had been added to her character information, along with her level and her reputation had increased as well. Her background now said she was a Rudimentary Mage graduate rather than just a mage student. She figured this was just the system telling her what her official class was.
Sara closed out of her character information window and made her way out of the ceremony room. She began making her plans for the future as she did.
She needed more combat spells, that much she was sure of. She looked up and stopped a fellow graduate.
"Excuse me? Where is the library?" She asked.
The student, almost certainly an NPC, pointed to a direction and gave a few less than helpful instructions on how to get there after giving Sara a strange look.
Sara gave her thanks and opened her map as she walked away. She saw the library lit up in her map. She rushed to get there as quickly as possible.
The library was as Sara would have expected it to be. It was huge, with books lining the walls and on giant shelves, giving the room aisles to walk down and peruse. There were tables scattered throughout where one could study the contents of the books, with paper and pens readily available.
Sara began looking through the books present, hoping she could find something helpful. 
Not knowing what she was exactly looking for, she pulled a handful of books from the shelves, hoping to figure it out as she worked.
As she opened the first book, a notice popped up in front of her.

Reading can help a character increase their intelligence stat. The more difficult the book, the more the stat will increase. With an intelligent stat being low, only low level books can be read, with it being high, more difficult books will become available to read.

Finally, as Sara finished yet another fairy tale, she sighed.
"Where the hell am I supposed to find another spell!?" 
Sara left the table and began to meander around the library. Reading the books wasn't entirely a complete loss, she'd been able to raise her intelligence by two points. Of course, she'd read through dozens of books in order to get those points….
Finally, Sara found herself in the back of the library. She slowly walked down the aisle, trying to find something that could give her a better chance of winning her upcoming arena battle.
Her eyes fell onto a book whose spine was tattered and torn, as if it'd been read and re-read over and over again countless times.
She pulled it from the shelf, along with another old looking book. As she made to turn away, however, she remembered something.
'Didn't I gain the ability to sense magic? Maybe I can sense a magical tome…'
As Sara thought this, she focused on the books around her, activating her new ability.
She saw no magic around her, nor felt any. As she sighed and was about to leave to sit at that table one last time, however, a faint wisp of energy caught her attention.
Sara rushed over. There, on the far wall, Sara found a thin book wedged between two much larger books. It was so thin; one would have been unable to find it without knowing it was there.
Sara pulled the book from the shelf and hurried back to her seat.
She set the two larger books aside and hurried to read the title of the thinner one.
"Chaos magic theory…? What's that?" As she read the title, a notice popped up.

This book contains the beginning teachings on Chaos Magic Theory. Would you like to read it?

Sara frowned down at the notice. It was very similar to the previous notices.
'Guess it's not a spell…just the theory around one?' She wondered.
She went ahead and selected yes.

Sara gritted her teeth. Of course, she finally finds something that might be able to help her out, and she doesn't have enough intelligence!
Sara tossed the book aside in a huff.
This game was broken. How was she supposed to grow in strength if she didn't even know how!?
Sara rubbed her eyes as she felt a headache coming on. 
Seeing no other way around it, she picked up the older book instead.
Brakendorfs Fall-
This book is about the dwarven king Brakendorf's fall from power. Would you like to read it?

A great victory!
Brakendorf's fall was an important turning point for the Drow race. His army's were one of the biggest threats to the Drow people. The ruins of his kingdom have long become a proud monument outside of the Drow territory that many wish to visit, but few get the opportunity. His riches were immense and the weapons in his treasury are still some of the greatest within the top Drow family's arsenals.

Sara sighed and set the book with the other's she'd read. She picked up the last one.

She didn't have much hope for the book and didn't even read the title notice before selecting to read it.

Though his book was difficult to read, you found yourself pushing through to the very end due to it's incredible amount of information. +2 intelligence.

Sara was pleasantly surprised as the notice of getting two additional stat points. She once again picked up the thin book and tried to read it.
She was met with a disappointing message once again.

Sara tossed the book aside once again before slamming her head down on the table.

Sara pulled off the headset and set it aside. Outside, the sun had begun to go down. Sara removed her body suit and sat at her desk. She began transfer her gaming video onto her computer as she surfed the web.
Maybe she could find some idea as to where to find more spells in the forums.
Most of the posts seemed to be about surface races. She clicked through, hoping to find something that could help her.
She paused as she came across one post that had almost three thousand engagements on it.

This game is broken…
So, has anyone else leveled up yet? I'm not asking to brag or anything, but I noticed something weird about leveling up. 
OK, so I leveled up after the tutorial. I know a lot of people probably did the same, I'm not trying to brag or anything, I was just wondering if anyone else noticed that…leveling up doesn't really give you much??
I'm now a level 2 swordsman; I got two stat points after leveling up, one that's automatically put into strength and the other given for me to place either in strength or agility.  But other than that…I'm able to still defend myself without armor? I guess, it's to make it so I don't have to wear heavy armor, which I am capable of doing. But, other than the weight it adds to the character, there isn't really any reason not to wear heavy armor.
This is just speculation on my part, but it seems like the main way you gain strength in this game is just through game play, rather than leveling up. Higher levels seem to be more of a convenience rather than a necessity. Does anyone else feel this way???

-I play a high elf mage, not getting benefits from levels is kinda *content censored*. I can't figure out how to gain more powerful spells! Since live play is activated, I guess that means I have to head out into the world an dsearch for them? But, my character itself isn't able to yet, he's considered a child in his clan, which means he isn't allowed outside of his village…But, He's considered a child until he's like…I think 100 years old? He's currently twenty! I have to wait another eighty years before I can head out into live play. Sure, there's a time difference between real life and the game, but in the real world that's still twenty years!-

The last comment made Sara wonder about her own character. She knew from the character information screen that she was twenty one years old, but she wasn't sure when she was considered an adult in Drow society…or when she'd be allowed to leave and head to the surface… From the looks of the adult Drow in the community, it didn't seem many left for the surface and if they did, they didn't stay for long.
Sara continued to search on the internet, trying to find a way to find more spells for her character. Finally, she found a hint.
Apparently, in previous games, doing missions gave not only experience, but also other rewards, like skills and spells. Or gave hints to those items. Thinking back, Sara knew that her first mission to attend her graduation ceremony hadn't given her any new spells, but had allowed her to find one, in a way.
Her second mission…if she was successful in doing it, she might actually be able to get more spells. The advanced classes were called advanced for a reason, obviously. It was unlikely that they would leave her without any new spells after completing the course.
But, that was only if she was able to complete the mission itself.
She still had to gain spells in order to complete it. After seeing that battle in the arena, she knew her current spell list was insufficient.
As she sat trying to figure out her next plan of action, her computer alerted her that her video files were completely downloaded. She began sifting through the hours upon hours of footage, trying to bring the amount down to under an hour. As she was working, she heard her front door open and close, signaling that her parents were home.
Sara didn't pay it any mind and continued to edit her video down.
She heard a knock on her bedroom door.
Sara looked over to see her father poking his head in.
"You're still awake?"
Sara nodded. "Yeah, I'm editing a video."
He nodded. "Your mother brought home some chicken from Little Stevie's. Her group was taken out today as a compensation for having to keep them for so long before."

Sara's dad left the room shortly after. He wasn't old, not really, but the long years in the Labor Force had taken their toll on him. The circles under his eyes were a little darker than they would have been if he wasn't in the force, and his body was a little weaker, skinnier.
Other than that, Sara's dad was a good looking guy, especially in his youth. If he'd started on his content at a younger age, he would have probably been really popular. Sara got up from her desk shortly after and headed out to the dining area to have dinner with her parents. It wasn't something that happened often, the three of them eating together. They rarely even got to interact with each other. Of course, this was Sara perspective anyways. Her parents actually worked in the same building, so they saw each other throughout the day. 
Sara's mother was quietly getting her family's plates ready for them, it was a habit she had developed back when Sara was younger, but she hadn't been able to do it since she was placed back into the Labor Force. Women are given the first five years of their child's lives off from the Labor Force to be stay at home mothers, but are returned back after the child turned five. Because Sara was sick when she was younger, however, her mother was able to stay home with her an extra year. 
After her mother returned to the Labor Force, Sara's dad had begun trying to build a following online in earnest. Sara wasn't sure if that was for her mother's benefit, or for her own. 
Or, maybe he just felt too stifled by the life as a Labor worker and wanted to try to find a way to make him feel like he was doing SOMETHING about their situation, even if it wasn't something that could actually amount to much.
They ate in relative silence, with the occasional comment on the food, or Sara's parents talking about something that happened at their jobs.
Sara finished her food quickly before excusing herself. The long breaks of silence felt stifling to her. She didn't want to sit there longer than she had to.
She returned to her room and continued with the editing of her video.

Sara lives in a world where you are either a Labor Worker or a celebrity. Her parents are part of the labor force and almost everyone she knows is expected to go into it. 
She doesn't want this for herself. 
She, like millions in the world, wants to be more than some labor worker. Wants to be more than just a member of the majority that breaks it's back for the few above.
She wants to be respected.

This is a story about an untalented girl named Sara Smith. She's more ordinary than you and makes a lot of mistakes, but she does it in a way that, at least she thinks, is epic.

She cant figure out why she isn't a huge star and why people don't love her, but maybe, just maybe, she'll be able to figure it out by the end. Or maybe she'll become that huge star that she's been striving to be.

Sara comes up with the idea that she'll become a popular gaming critique....unfortunately she knows nothing about games and how they work. But! She has drive! And sometimes!.......that's still not enough......

Hello everyone. I hoped you all liked my beginning ideas in this story. To be honest, I have a bigger project that includes a lot more lore. This was still fun to write, but sadly, not going to actually be my story. My other stories I was writing also included some of my ideas for the story I wish to write. There is just one thing the goddess asks,"Destroy the world, and you shall gain entry into my loving embrace." What will Evangeline do? Will she become death itself, or be the same weak hearted commoner? Or will she go one step further, and give her new goddess a boon that even she couldn't anticipate?
