Satisfied with his little foray into the library, Aser quickly decided to check out the other areas before starting his cultivation for the day. Even if it was his first day in the Academy, he had no intention of falling behind. He also needed to figure out an efficient way to finish reading all the books in the library with Ashes! Briefly checking his System Panel, Aser quickly headed onwards to the large Arena building in the distance.

Remembering the notice he read earlier, Aser assumed that the Arena was where he could participate in the so called "Trials". While walking, he finally decided to read the Academy Guidelines book to increase his understanding of the Academy. Surprisingly, he very quickly found out that even though most of the trials were in the Arena, but the trials could be anywhere on campus, including during classes and even in the cafeteria and library. The Crystal Processor for the campus maintained and monitored the trials, and would release them periodically when certain conditions were met. Almost all the buildings in campus other than private areas were monitored to both prevent any unforeseen accidents as well as track conditions and progress for trials.

He also figured out that there were school wide ranking boards as well as age specific ranking boards. Realizing that although the Academy seemed harmonious, there was still a lot of competition for everyone, Aser gradually let go of his frustration from earlier. He thought that his desire to compete and prove himself was an anomaly, but it was more the fact that the Academy forbid any sort of public arguments or fights. As such, the harmonious atmosphere he witnessed was simply a facade and almost all of the students seemed to be scheming behind everyone to get further ahead. Most people would feel uncomfortable with the scheming and competition behind the scenes, but Aser actually felt invigorated. He didn't know why, but just the thought of being able to outwit his peers made his blood boil. On the other hand, he didn't actually have as much excitement when imagining duels or combat competitions, as he instinctively felt apprehensive about being close to others, spilling blood or exchanging moves. 

Walking up to the large Arena building, Aser saw kids standing in front of a large Crystal board. Assuming that it was the ranking and Trials board, he approached it to witness the top students of the current First Son's Academy.

It was evident right from the beginning that the two people ranked at the very top were exceptional among their peers, not to mention being from the City Lord's family! The students in the 2nd and 3rd ranking were further below them, and the gap grew bigger from the 4th ranking onwards. This continued until near the middle after the 50th ranking where each rank would differ by only a few points until finishing at the 100th rank. 

Looking at all the names there and understanding that only 2nd Year students are able to get on to the Top 100, Aser readily decided that his goal for his 1st Year would be to get in the Top 50! He was sure that there were plenty of 1st Year students that were able to rank within the Top 100, just as he was sure that being in the Top 50 as a 1st Year would be almost impossible. The current rankings didn't have a 2nd Year until the 85th rank!

Moving past the ranking board, Aser saw smaller crystals around the entrance of the arena, presumably the crystals for viewing and registering trials. According to the Academy Guidelines, after registering for a trial, you would have to go to the building where the trial would be conducted. Most of them were in the Arena, but Aser didn't want to compete there at the moment. He wanted to take part in the trials that would take place in the library, and he knew for sure that there were quite a few of those as well! 

Locating an empty crystal, Aser went up and asked Ashes to connect to the Crystal Terminal. Approving the request for connection, Aser saw a list open up in his mind similar to his System Panel. Looking at all the Trials, such as "Win 5 Combat Matches in a row", or "Collect information regarding the Conquer Era", Aser knew that these trials were made to suit every kind of Cultivator.

The large list of trials available to him both excited Aser but also made him realize that finishing any of them was not an easy task. Each trial had its own requirements, and there were multiple different kinds to test different areas. Asking Ashes to save all the trial information as well as create a new Trial Module to keep track of his progress, Aser decided to skip exploring further and head back to the Library so that he could start cultivating and set up a plan to efficiently spend his time in the Academy for the next month.

Beasts had unlocked their System during the Ancient Era, and were once the rulers of the world. A catastrophe had caused them all to go into slumber, ushering in the Venture era where humanity started leaving their settlements to explore. As civilization progressed and tensions rose, humanity fought with themselves for the large swathes of territory. Near the end of the Conquer era, the beasts started awakening from their slumber and pushed humanity to the brink of destruction. Through efforts from humanity's top leaders, the system was unlocked for man, and thus began the era of Enlightenment. 

The goal of everyone in this era is to get enlightened, to seek Ascension. Now every child, every family, every influence seek to be an Ascended like the heroes of their world. 

Aser, an Unknown child raised in an orphanage in the Southern Seas. Like others, on his 7th birthday, the system had awakened in his mind, but he realizes he's special. As he explores the mysteries of the System, our protagonist strives to excel, to prove his worth in the world of Gigantis, to find his parents and to figure out the path to Ascension.

Feng Jin had always believed that he was from an aristocratic family and that he had received the best education, which meant he wouldn't do anything rude under normal circumstances.
That was, until he met Jiang Pengji.
He coughed so hard that his face turned red. He quickly pulled himself together and reorganized his "crime scene." His face looked awkward.
"Lanting, Master Yuanjing is a master who has earned the respect of the whole world. How could you say something like this about him…?" Feng Jin couldn't say more about it because he couldn't find the right word to describe what she had suggested.
Jiang Pengji twitched her lips and said, "It's just a joke, but I rephrased it another way. I didn't mean to ruin his reputation. Why do you have to act like that? If I said this in front of his face, he might have actually agreed with me."
Feng Jin sighed. He knew there was no comparison in talking sophistry between him and her.
"Master Yuanjing is a man with great generosity and an open mind. He wouldn't mind being bothered by you."
Because of the injury to his right hand, he would have a hard time using a pen for a while. It was very unfortunate that he had missed the chance to attend the evaluation, but it had left him quite a bit of spare time. Jiang Pengji had to spend time with him by playing chess or chatting with him to keep him company.
No matter if one was a student from a poor family or a gentry clan member, who wouldn't want to strive for their career after years and years of study?
Feng Jin didn't say it, but he clearly didn't let it go so easily. He was very well aware of Jiang Pengji's good will.
"What are you doing?"
After a game of chess, Jiang Pengji told Taxue to prepare a table in the yard and laid some bamboo papers on the table.
"Do some reviewing. We are doing nothing anyway. Your attention is never on the game and I'm getting bored." Jiang Pengji kneeled on the bamboo coach. Taxue rolled up her sleeve and milled the ink stone for her.
Feng Jin couldn't hide his embarrassment when he heard that Jiang Pengji saw through him. He schooled his expression and change the subject. "Reviewing? Is it the assignment that Uncle Liu gave to you?"
As the General Evaluation Officer, Liu She went to the examination room to prepare. In order to avoid doing anything that might arouse suspicion, he did not plan on coming back before the end of the evaluation.
Feng Jin could tell how much Liu She valued Jiang Pengji; he must have been dedicated to focusing on her studies. It would be normal for him to give her some homework to do.
But Jiang Pengji replied, "No. I'm just reviewing Mr. Cheng's book collections."
Mr. Cheng was actually Cheng Cheng.
She had "made a deal" with Cheng Cheng earlier, which was such that she would provide the best quality bamboo papers and Cheng Cheng would make a copy of his book collection. There were, however, a large number of books in his collection for Cheng Cheng to copy, which was more than ten thousand rolls. It would take at least a year or two for him to finish.
Jiang Pengji couldn't wait that long. She had nothing else to do at the moment, so she decided to complete it herself.
The more she got involved in the society––the more she saw––they more she understood.
It was absolutely true that there were so many things that pissed her off, such as the undeveloped technology, illiterate people everywhere, savage customs, and gender discrimination. But she wasn't going to deny that there was some brightness in the current era, as well, such as the collective wisdom from their ascendants.
She went through a large quantity of Warcraft books and found that many parts of the books matched the knowledge she had already learned. It seemed rather coarse but the principles were mostly identical, only the current era was 10,000 or 20,000 years behind.
Jiang Pengji started to put away her contempt as she settled down to study the knowledge. If it wasn't for that, she didn't have to put such effort into tricking Cheng Cheng for his book collection.
"Man's nature at birth is good; nature is similar, but habits make men different. If there is no teaching, the nature will deteriorate…" Feng Jin sat next to her and watched her write that down. When he went through his memory, he didn't have any recollection of the words. They were short sentences, but there was a deeper meaning to them, which caught his eye. He asked, "Who wrote this? It is demotic and easy to remember, which is quite interesting."
After Feng Jin brought it up, there was a series of bullet screens flashing in the streaming room.
Laosiji Lianmeng: "Mr. Feng, this is Three Character Classic, the enlightened education of ancient Hua Country."
Yin Yuejia Zhuge Qinmo: "The author of Three Character Classic is Wang Yinglin in Song Dynasty. You wouldn't have any idea of who Wang Yinglin is."
Maorongrong Depidai: "I did some research. The author of Three Character Classic is Wang Yinlin."
Nongfu Shanquan Youdianxuan: "Wang Yinlin in Song Dynasty. But there should be no Song Dynasty in Feng Jin's dimension, right?"
The truth was, according to some viewers' analysis, the era she was in was more like the period of Wei Jin Two Dynasty.
Except for the answers, there were some bullet screens which stated, "It's the father's fault for not being able to raise their kids. A teacher's laziness makes students slack." 
It was a tangle of different bullet screens. Even Jiang Pengji, who had a good memory, nearly felt dizzy after them.
Jiang Pengji lowered her head, took a glance of the bullet screens, and kept writing.
"I don't know. The author is already untraceable. I just wrote it down out of interest."
The streaming was a bit off. It felt like they were having a festival.
When Jiang Pengji asked for their advice about if they could suggest some elementary education books, the whole room of viewers boiled. They might have no clue about the ancient books, but Google definitely did. They could finally pretend to be literate in front of their host.
Jiang Pengji wrote Three Character Classic on the first page of the book and titled the author as John Doe.
The reason why she didn't put the original author's name on it was because she didn't want anyone to track down who Wang Yinglin was… So how could she know who this Wang Yinglin was?
Feng Jin didn't feel odd about Jiang Pengji's answer. Cheng Cheng's boxes of books were many. He took a look at it once by chance and the books were very well organized, which indicated how much the owner cared about them. But there were a number of ancient books that were mutilated. Naturally it was going to be hard to find out who the author was.
"Mrs. Meng chose their neighbors. Is this talking about how Mrs. Meng moved three times looking for good neighbors?" Feng Jin stared at the short sentences. A big portion of them came from some familiar, historical stories.
Everyone who could read knew of the story about how Mrs. Meng moved three times for neighbors, but he had never seen anyone described it with only a few words. Feng Jin had a weird feeling, but it went away and he couldn't use words to talk about it.
Jiang Pengji twisted her eyebrows and complained to him, "You are being noisy."
Feng Jin's brows went down and he sat quietly next to her.
That's better.
Jiang Pengji kept working on her writing. The viewers in the streaming room thoughtfully looked for different versions with explanations for her, but it seemed like they didn't copy and paste from the same website, which lead to the content being messy and irrelevant. She had to edit and omit some of them, which wasted quite a few pieces of paper.
Some viewers were eager to help Jiang Pengji, but some of them were just having fun watching the show.
Nongfu Shanquan Youdianxuan: "I almost believed that the host was going to be someone different rather than just copying things down. Apparently you still can't avoid doing it."


Jiang Pengji got something called the Court Intrigue Stream System.
System: "Your goal is to become the most prestigious woman in the kingdom (the Queen)!" 
Jiang Pengji: "Okay, System. No problem!"
Years later, she met the target by becoming the most prestigious woman (the Empress).
Jiang Pengji: "Well done, no?"

As the celebration for Joseph's 10th birthday were being prepared, all the staff within the Fallenwind manor have been pushed to their utmost limits. After all on Allyria, regardless of which city you found yourself in, the human race  had largely collaborated on all aspects and this included traditions such as the coming of age ceremonies.

Unfortunately for Joseph, his coming of age ceremony was still another 5 years away. Boys became men at 15 years of age  and girls became women at 16,  while some details are vague most families prefer to keep their daughters at home and choose who they will marry in an attempt to increase the families connections to those above them.
The boys on the other hand, those of a lower social class were bound to serve the army for a number of years of which could be reduced depending on their merits. The middle class could also choose to have their sons join the military, choose to pursue an education or learn the family business to take over it in the long term.
Those at the peak of the hierarchy, depending on which area of the world could be either a monarchy or a government, and from the families involved in either tend to send their sons to get involved within the government or pursue the path of an educator.

Despite the various hierarchies and the communities they make up there seems to be a lack of corruption power brings to certain people and from that it is rarely seen any negative interactions between the lower social class and the other classes. The reason for this is that not one person is bound to their fate and ensuring everybody is provided for with an education. This education varies based on which one wishes to learn and what they want their future to be.

And being part of the upper middle class, the Fallenwind family had on this day selected  to be the day Joseph Fallenwind was going to find out through a special means of testing what his talents may lay in. The test while not being a permanent choice on what the tester has to become, it provides more of a general guideline on what and how to best use their talents. Joseph's family had several businesses across several fields: Alchemy, Tailors, Blacksmiths, Gathering, Restaurants and 1 or two others that may or may not exist in the shadows of the city, any family worth anything would have a toe or two dipped in shady business.

"System, should I be concerned about this test that I am about to do in a while?" - Joseph could not help but ask the System with a bit of concern in his voice.

Upon hearing the Systems announcement, Joseph felt more relieved and the weight on his shoulders very quickly vanished, this brought further self confidence to Joseph, confidence and excitement he could hardly wait to see what was going to happen soon.

As time was closing in for Joseph's ceremony, several women could be seen running through the corridors of the manor all heading towards a single direction Joseph's room. Among this group of women his mother Mary could be seen leading the pack. Why would a group of 10 women be rushing towards Joseph's room you might ask? Well being a young boy of 10 years of age, Mary understood many thing about boys, having grown up with a few brothers and that's that most boys at her son's age usually played about making a mess of everything.

Granted Mary had never seen her son play about like others of his age which at first found odd, but he seemed happy watching the various things adults did in their day to day life. Most surprisingly for Joseph's parents and grandparents had been finding out about his love for reading, and it seemed little Joseph had read several books within the families library covering  a wide range of topics.

But today was an important event for Joseph, and his mother wanted him to look his very best, like any other mother she was proud of her son and wanted to show him off to their friends.

As they neared the room that had been allocated to Joseph, the doors suddenly opened wide and from inside his room, out stepped Joseph wearing a top of the line suit gifted to him by his grandmother. His long golden hair had been trimmed to shoulder length, with a bit of magic from a popular hair stylist, his hair alongside with his frame and the suit gave Joseph a unique aura.

The group of women came to an abrupt halt as they continued to stare at this young man, Joseph's mother was so impressed with her son that a few tears of joy could be seen sliding down her face, what else could a mother possibly want? Suddenly grandchildren popped up in her head, and with that thought and a coy smile the thought expanded towards maybe it was time to look for a nice girl for my son. Mary suddenly had the urge to go speak and get some insights from her mother in law for future candidates.

When Joseph spotted the group of women and his mother among them, he could already tell the reason why they were there and having just come out the way he did had obviously startled them, as he looked towards his mother with a kind face still showing off some of his baby fat rounding off his jaw, he greeted his mother. - "Hello mom, shall we go to the hall? We should not keep the guests waiting for long." - With that Joseph approached his mother, and they walked side by side towards the main hall of the family's manor.

What do you do when you require something? Of course you buy it. What about if you want to buy your way to Ascension?

Before the official start of the summer break, No. 60 High's Headmaster Chen Tianxiang held a pre-vacation teacher's meeting. During the meeting, he had a very grave expression on his face. "Teachers of No. 60 High… I have bad news."
The teachers' hearts trembled – they had never heard Headmaster Chen speak so seriously before, and they discussed among themselves in whispers below the dais for a while. Exactly what major thing had happened to make the usually steady Headmaster Chen show such despondence on his face?
"All of you should be well aware that after sixty years of hard work, this is the year that our No. 60 High has the best hope of being selected and promoted to a key city high school."
Headmaster Chen said slowly, "From the summer break onward, we will gradually complete the upgrade of our facilities, and our teaching team will also be promoted. After our school becomes a key city high school, teachers who have served for more than ten years will receive a key city high school teacher's allowance directly granted by the General Administration of 100 Schools.
"After the promotion to a key city high school, if you continue to teach at No. 60 High and reach fifty years of service, you can get a house in Songhai city, in the school zone around No. 60 High. Your children won't need to be interviewed to enter the school, and the tuition is completely free.
"Another thing is that after the promotion to a key city high school, teachers can take sword boat shuttles on fixed routes to work. "A very important part of being upgraded to a key city high school is the handover of the 'Jade Scroll of School History.' This is a record of the initial founding of No. 60 High on jade paper, and is the one important piece of material evidence we have of No. 60 High's qualifications as an established school. It's stamped with the wordless magic seals of all the former headmasters."
Headmaster Chen steepled his fingers together and said in a low voice, "Previously, I took out the Jade Scroll of School History and placed it on my office table. I planned to stamp it with my own wordless magic seal before finally handing it over to the upper department for review. But I regret to say, the Jade Scroll of School History has disappeared."
"Disappeared?"
"How can it disappear?"
The teachers were in uproar below the dais.
Logically speaking, a school's Jade Scroll of School History actually wasn't anything of value… even a thief wouldn't look at it.
The most important thing, as a lot of the teachers knew, was that there weren't any words on the scroll. This included the headmaster's stamp, which was a wordless magic seal. All this was for the sake of keeping the scroll in pristine condition; the right verbal magic password was required to make the words appear on the scroll.
"Principal, has the scroll been stolen, then?" The teachers couldn't remain calm after this.
They had now reached the stage where every key city high school candidate had to submit the materials for an audit, and the submission deadline was the last day of the summer break. If they couldn't find the scroll before then, the chance to qualify for a promotion this year would probably fall into No. 59 High's lap.
While No. 60 High would lose their best chance in a century… 
This wasn't just about the students' learning, but also the welfare benefits for teachers.
A number of teachers had actually planned to resign in recent years, but with No. 60 High's promotion on the horizon, they had decided to stay and continue teaching.
All their hearts turned cold at such a huge crisis cropping up at this critical time.
"Silence, all of you."
Headmaster Chen was unperturbed as he spoke. His voice couldn't be considered loud, but it carried the dignity of a headmaster, and the situation calmed down for the time being.
"I know all of you are worried, but now is not the time to be anxious; now is the moment that we teachers of No. 60 High should conduct ourselves gracefully. The closer we get to the critical juncture, the more we must remain calm in the face of a crisis." Headmaster Chen stood up, and his gaze swept over the teachers below him. "There is still some time before we have to submit the materials for a qualification review: our No. 60 High still has sixty days to turn things around.
"From my understanding of the preliminary situation, we can rule out the possibility that the scroll was stolen. In the months leading up to the summer break, the General Administration of 100 Schools once held a jade paper recycling operation, and Director Shi and I collected all the old exercise books and scrolls made of jade paper and placed them in my office.
"After looking at the surveillance cameras, it appears that the Jade Scroll of School History was mixed in with the others when a student came to move the things, since it looks just like a blank scroll… It's no wonder it would be treated as trash, given that there's no writing on it; our sect is in fact partly to blame for this."
"Then where can we find the Jade Scroll of School History?" a teacher asked the critical question.
And Headmaster Chen already had the answer.
It was also the main purpose of this teacher's meeting which he was holding today.
He dropped his forehead into his hands. "After recycling the jade paper and purifying it with magic, the General Administration of 100 Schools already cut it up for this year's summer holiday homework…"
All the teachers: "…"
"So the good news is that our Jade Scroll of School History is still in Songhai city. However, I'm afraid that it has already been cut up into several parts and is scattered among this year's high school holiday homework. As long as we can find all the parts of the scroll during the summer break, I can restore it with magic."
As Headmaster Chen said this, his gaze swept over the teachers around him and he gave them an imploring look. "Every teacher present is an elite of our No. 60 High. You deal in various aspects of education and make diligent contributions toward nurturing the flowers of the cultivation world! This year is our No. 60 High's best chance of being promoted to a key city high school in a century! I'm humbly asking everyone here to do everything in your power to find all the cut-up parts of the Jade Scroll of School History during the summer break! Everyone, please!"
After saying this, Headmaster Chen straightened before bowing deeply to all the teachers of No. 60 High below the dais.
Thus, a search operation centered around No. 60 High's Jade Scroll of School History went into full swing during the summer break… 
Since it was summer, a lot of students made plans to travel.

Day 5


In the empty training room except for some random survivors exchanging skills and practising on the skills, I suggest to my wives do a demonstration of their skills so we can improve on it. First I show them (my wives and babies) the gathering of mana from the surrounding and holding it in my hand fusing it into my fingers, after the demonstration, Alice and Tiera show their skill which is gathering of mana, focusing the mana at a single point, infuse it with elements but the different things that they do cause different effect, like Alice blasts the mana while Tiera just sprinkle the mana over the area. I guess mana have different effects if you do it differently. Ava is just showing off her strength while Wanda is showing off her speed. Last but not the least Junias demonstrate her double hit so fast that we almost thought that she only hit once.

After 3 hours of practising usage of mana and the force used on each strike, I finally find out that lighter strikes are faster than heavier strikes but do a lot of damage lesser, it is the same as mana usage. Now I can use the double hit and heavy hit. Next I gather mana from myself and my surrounding, I move mana from my surrounding to cover my hand while mana from myself into my hands, use that mana to reinforce my bone and muscles then channel them like a wave ,then I hit twice in the air, the mana that is covering my hand are released into the air and it spread like waves and hit junias and some people, I accidentally send them knocking back to the wall then it pulls them slightly and send them again..

Notice you learn a new skill called mana and ki double wave strike (lower uncommon) (double strike that is imbued with mana and ki and discharges it like waves of the ocean, it has many flaws which made it a much lower grade than it should be, one of it is extremely high combustion of mana which cost 140 mana and a turn to channel.

 

Due to the suddenly mana waves are launching towards Junias and other people and hit them which send them sweeping to and forth, Tiera and rest try to heal Junias and the rest by focusing on gathering her mana while compressing it into a ball of light and blast it at Junias which the spell heal Junias but it is better than area of effect heal that she normally cast due to having more practice.

Because of this incident, I get scolded badly by my wives and others...

By the way, the so-called victims have obtained a skill that enables them to reduce knockback. Junias come up with an attack which she gather mana from her surrounding into her body and release the mana from her body to hand, she hit 2 times before she is out of mana in her body while Alice come up with a skill that is same as fireball, it is the same process and she added in the scattering all the mana around the area

Ava has developed a new type of heavier strike that once hit, the ground will cause a mini blast that can send a shockwave around the area while Wanda can hit 4 times in a row which is like an upgrade of double strike.

At least everyone knows how to double strike and heavier strike, the babies seem to learn a bit of the skill that we train.

For Junias

Heavier strike (attack with 110% of the damage) (7 mp per usage 1 turn cooldown)



After practice is over, we come to visit the new education room which is full of random colour, I have no idea on what does it actually do. I only know that it is given as a reward for doing something. The room contains a lot of books which looks like a library.

Once my wives and I enter the room, there is notice that books are for reading and currently do not have any borrow function. Of course, there are a few people reading in the room as it is just recently opened. Besides that, there are a few sections of selves that have books generally contain pieces of information of common languages and with a lot of pictures, others are books relating team formation. My Wives settles down and read those books to the babies, at the meanwhile I give the babies a hug for a while then move onto the next one. After some time, the babies actually can gains stats for them that give me make happier. I just spend my time browsing those books, it is more like notes on the team formation. Sadly it only teaches on how to form a few formations but does not explain its uses and when do not use them. Formations that are written are the line, triangle and box formation. The line is straightforward, it is just to form a straight line besides your allies, while triangle requires a person to spearhead while rest stay behind, the box is the same as a line but more people covering the sides of the line.

 After reading the books in the education room, we go and eating our dinner, Looking at their beauty figures, it is time for another round of sex...

I have already rest for 2 days, thus am worried that we spend too much time on safe area, more zombies will spawn even through patrol team will have to reduce the numbers but it is still not enough so I go to safe area management tab to buy the following upgrade:

I don't know why I actually buy the human cow farm, it looks like fun to have one, the rest of the upgrade that I buy are generally to improve current upgrades, like Automation Ammo Manufacturing Workshop, use up power and materials really fast but it can manufacture 150 shotgun shells per hour in power saving mode, you get the idea, it produces a few times more than the previous upgrade of I can use normal mode to increase the ammo been manufactured rate. Finding that workshop that is too expensive. I use 10% discount shop ticket on it which save me 200 coins

With the improve vending machine first to reach lv5, I get a few notices as an achievement

It makes the vending machine enable to attract survivors to buy more stuff from it, not just that it allows certain range weapons can be made using certain items while ammo costs cheaper due to the workshop as survivors can order ammo at a cheaper price on the vending machine while the workshop is processed their orders.

Bringing paper-making technology to this world was an idea Sui Xiong had long ago.
The spreading of culture was very slow. One of the crucial reasons was that there was a lack of cultural carrier: paper. Here, the books were compiled into booklets with papers made with various beast skins, hence the incredibly high cost. A blank booklet for about 30 pages would at least cost six gold coins in the wholesale store, while the retail price normally cost eight to ten gold coins.

For example Void Mask Church's mage group leader, Satan, was a mage that had just gotten into the higher order in the recent two years. He knew 33 languages in total, and was learning more languages then. For instance, that year, taught himself the language of a mutated species, Heart Eater Soul Monster. The species was basically non-existent in the main dimension but it was distributed across countless worlds that were floating in Void. They were good at using attacks on their prey that caused heartache, hence the name "heart eater."
According to his way of saying things, his plan was to master above a hundred languages.
A mage not only had to learn languages but also know the more headache-inducing study, culture. Astrology, geography, customs and practices, biology, history… forget it. Listing them out one by one seems as though I am trying to fulfil the word count. All in all, the reason why mages had high expenditures was mainly because of "learning."
And principal part of the learning expenditure was the purchase of books.
Books wouldn't fall from the sky but required to be bought using one's own money. Or maybe one could buy an empty booklet and copy by hand. An experienced mage normally had a few racks of books, or even a library. What were these? These were all money!

Looking at the danger aspect, this was more terrifying.
After boiling for a long time, that ball of unknown mixture had turned into thick murky fluid and the negativity in it had fully dispersed. Sui Xiong tried to take some and used magic to spread it on the linen that he prepared earlier. Then, he oven-dried it using magic.
After a while, it was fully dried. Sui Xiong took it down from the linen and gotten a piece of thick paper in a blackish green colour. It was hard and coarse, and didn't look like it could be used for writing.
"This doesn't look quite right," he mumbled to himself. "If Cai Lun made this back then, the emperor was kind enough to not beat him to death. How could he even leave a good name in history?"
He pondered and took out some again from the mixture that would likely be paper waste, and spread it on the linen. But, he purposely spread it thinner. then he realised that there were many small pieces, and he couldn't spread it nicely.
"It's not fine enough!" He suddenly understood, so he used magic to shred the ball of paper waste again. This time, he strengthened the pounding power. Even steel could turn into powder, not to speak of wood.
Hence, the paper waste was spread thinly and evenly. After it oven-dried, he had gotten a flat piece of paper.
Greyish blue in colour, a little crumpled; it looked like soft paper that could be used to wipe one's ass.
"This is toilet paper... I want to make writing paper!"
He pondered again, wondering it went wrong.
Firstly, he had to remove the color because he needed white paper.
How to remove the colour? Filtration?
He tried to filter it, and there was murky water that was greyish green. But the color on the paper paste obviously didn't change.
Well, filtration didn't work; how about washing?

It was like the saying, "It is when you are using what you have learned from books that you wish you had read more books." By that time, his reserved knowledge had been used up, he didn't know how to further purify the paper paste to whiten it more.
After thinking for half a day, he decided to develop a magic spell that was used to purify the paper paste.
The character of the magic was to absorb the coloring in the paper paste; it was not very high tech. He finally invented the very first magic spell in this world that he could spread and leave him a good reputation in the history.

Using the magic could help to extract the coloring in the paper paste and turn into stringy colour colloid, while the originally variegation paper paste turned white.
After completing the magic, Sui Xiong had finally gotten the white paper paste that he wanted. Using this paper paste as raw material, he had gotten white paper.
But, it was still the soft crumpled paper, not like anything that could be written on with a feather brush.
The more troublesome part was that the paper was not beneficial for packaging and preserving. He could be tell by the looks, it was definitely not anything sturdy and durable.
Sui Xiong thought carefully and wanted to press the paper flat.
It was smoother, but not smooth enough.
He thought again, tried to put more paper paste onto the linen, pressed it flat, and oven-dried it.
He finally got a piece of smooth white paper.
Of course, compared to the white paper on earth, it was vastly different. But Sui Xiong had already tried his best and couldn't figure any other way to improve it.
He tried it with feather brush and ink. As expected, he realized ink would smudge on the piece of paper and it couldn't be used for delicate small writings.

The biggest problem about this solution was that every time when someone wanted to use it, they have to make mix the ink on the go, which was inconvenient. But inconvenience would still be better than nothing, wouldn't it?
Sui Xiong had the intention to make an ink block like the one that was used by his ancestors for many years. He tried to combine glue and ashes into blocks but in the end, he realised that the ink block could only be cut and crushed for usage.

After a few days, during the meeting of higher ups in Void Mask Church, Sui Xiong showed off his invention proudly.

February. It's been an year. I am just as average as I was when I started on my syllabus preparation for class 12 Boards. According to Indian Education system these are the qualifying exams to get into a wonderfully ranked university. Everybody says these are important for better job prospects. My family expects a lot from me. They think my academics are excellent but they are not. My academics are good, i.e, they doesn't match my parents confidence. You can imagine how edurus, i.e, tough and hard it is to work upto their expectations. Once having a talk with my father I told him that it's bad to expect so much from me as my studies were average this year and may be the results when arrive would not be great. He assured me that results weren't as important as giving my best performance. I was relieved. He also said me that my results would be my own responsibility and whatever their expectations are they are just for my bright future. These words of his made me realise that it is up to me to give my hundred percent without caring for results as entering a good college would give me  education status which is important for getting a good job. It will also enhance my status in society. I will be independent. All this inspires me to study hard but picking up books and starting, it seems ' easy to say than to do '.

" I shouldn't have married an illiterate woman like you" Ravi wanted to scream out loudly but he couldn't.

Ravi was a chartered accountant and was working as a Manager (Finance and taxation) in a famous company. Ravi got married to Saritha. Ravi's parents were orthodox people. They wanted an illiterate daughter-in-law who would know all household work and wouldn't talk much. But Ravi wanted a literate wife. There were some arguments happened between Ravi and his parents, but, finally, he had to marry Saritha thanks to the traditional technique, emotional blackmail from his parents.

It has been one week since they got married but he was not in a position to accept her as his wife. She hasn't talked much with him since marriage is fixed and till now also and even he wanted the same from her. He dreamed a lot about his future wife that she should be an educated and professional one, modern, rich in thoughts etc. But all those will continue to be his dreams till the end. He thought that his world turned upside down.

According to the traditions prevailed at that place, groom had to stay in bride's home for 3 days to carryout some rituals. They both went to bride's village. Ravi was not at all interested in these rituals , particularly not after getting married to this girl, but there was no option left for him.

First day, at around 8 pm, after finishing dinner, he got a call from his friend. Due to signals problem, he went to Terrace to talk over phone. When he finished the call, he stayed there for sometime as he was feeling uncomfortable in the house. He was unhappy. He put on earphones to listen some good music.

After sometime, when one song was over and before another song started playing, he listened one English conversation. It was from back side of the house. He was at the front side of the terrace. He went to the back side of the terrace. There, he saw his wife talking over phone in English fluently with out any break. For a moment, he didn't believe what he was seeing there. He kept on staring at her till her conversation was over. He was dumbstruck.

It took him 10 minutes to return to normal. She was speaking more fluently than him. He was in a deep confusion. "i was told that she was an illiterate. Then, how on earth she can talk in English, that too with such a fluency ?" he mulled over this question throughout the night.

Next day, saritha's best friend, Sirisha, came to see Saritha. Saritha introduced her to Ravi. While their conversation was going on, saritha got a call from another friend and she went out to attend the call. In the mean time, Ravi came straight to the point

" Sirisha, can I ask you a question ?"

"Yes"

"Yesterday night, I listened Saritha talking over phone in English. But, my parents told me that she is an illiterate. What is this ?"

" I don't know"

" Please tell me, I want to know. I swear on God. I won't tell this to my parents"

"This is very sensitive. Please don't tell to Saritha also that I told this to you"

" Yeah. Sure "

" You knew about saritha's family, right ?. Middle class family. Only one child. She was an absolute gem in studies. District first in 10th class, got good marks in +2, she joined in CA course. She almost missed ranks in CPT and IPCC. She joined in article ship in Bangalore. She took FINAL coaching also. When she was about to write the final exams, her father met with an accident and died at the spot. She was in deep depression as she loved her father more than she loved herself. Her mother, who was completely unaware of things on how to run a family, decided to marry Saritha to someone. When her mother came to know about your's match,she convinced Saritha for marriage. Saritha also agreed to marry as she was not in a position to continue her studies . Her mother even told to Saritha not to disclose about her education details to groom's family as they needed only illiterate daughter-in-law. She agreed for that.

"Tell more about her" (Ravi's perception towards her was changing)

" She is kind, honest, funny, modern, mature and talented. Her aim was so big. She tried so hard to achieve that. But God had put a full-stop for that. I don't think your parents will allow her to open books once again. They didn't know about her. If they come to know about this, they won't give her the respect a bride would expect in mother in law's home"

Saritha finished call and came back. They were back to the normal conversation.

On that evening, he sat on terrace and was thinking about Saritha "She is an educated, professional (even though she is not a qualified CA, she is possessing all qualities to become a professional), modern, matured girl. Because of that one incident, which turned her life jumbled-up, she had to stop all her education. Had that incident not happened, she would have achieved her goals. Even after facing such odd situations. she is still the same girl." While he was thinking all this, she was playing with kids. and his thinking continued " Look at that smile, gorgeous. Her dimple, inviting me to kiss on her cheeks. Her curved lips, dazzling. Her eyes, seductive. How lucky am i to have this beautiful lady as my life-partner. ". He started liking her.

Saritha came on to the terrace to call Ravi for dinner. He stood up and hugged her tightly and kissed her on forehead, without saying one word. Saritha was shell-shocked. She was staring at her husband while he was eating. He knew that she was staring at him. He winked at her and gave flying kiss in front of her mother. Her mother giggled. Before bed, he whispered in her ear "Thank you". She didn't understand the reason, kept calm.

Next day, they returned back to Ravi's house. Ravi and his family were staying in Hyderabad. He decided not to tell about her education details to his parents. He started treating her as his wife. On Sunday, he stayed at home. From morning to night, he observed her throughout the day. She woke up at 5 AM, cleaned the house, prepared breakfast, washed clothes, cooked lunch, cleaned plates and utensils, made supper. She was restless throughout the day.

He told to himself " Although, these activities have to be done by wife, but is it right, a talented girl like her has to stuck in the home 24/7 and 365 days. What if I encourage her to pursue the course from where she stopped ". He gave it a deep thought.

After one month, Ravi was transferred to the head office located in Bengaluru. Ravi's parents also wanted to come to Bengaluru, but he denied them. He convinced them that he will come back to Hyderabad after one year.

Ravi and Saritha moved to Bengaluru. Saritha still remembered the railway station, bus station, malls and places she went to when she was in Bengaluru. She was happy that she came back to the place where she spent 3 years of quality life, at the same time she was also sad as she couldn't able to finish the job for which she came to Bengaluru.

They settled into apartment near Ravi's office. They unpacked , decorated all household items. They loved that apartment.

Ravi went to office. His first day was boring. He took one hour permission to buy an important gift for his wife. He came back to the house and saw his wife was in white saree. He said to himself "Angelic, splendiferous".

" Saritha, come here, i bought a gift for you"

" For me ?" She is in disbelief.

" Yes. For you only. Open it"

She unwrapped it and broke into tears after seeing the gift.

The gift is " CA FINAL books"

He gave a letter and asked her to read.

" To my sweet heart,

I came to know that you were never an illiterate, you were CA aspirant. Due to your father's sudden demise, you had to stop the education and had to marry me. I came to know that you had so many dreams. It will not be possible for you to complete CA if we stay back in Hyderabad. That's why I requested my boss to transfer me to Bengaluru. My parents won't come here. You can start preparation for final exams. I know you still have a desire in your heart to finish CA course. From now, I will be there for you. Actualize your dreams. Wish you all the best".

While reading this letter, tears were flowing down from her eyes. There was no limit to her happiness. She went to bed room. Ravi was busy in changing clothes. She hugged him tightly and he felt her love and warmth in that hug. They kissed out of passion.

It took her two attempts to clear CA FINAL. Now, she is a CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT.

When she saw the result, First, she told to her father ( to his photo )" Father, I don't know where are you now. But your daughter here completed her CA course. Feel proud. Don't worry about me, Ravi is here to take care of me like you used to."

Next she rang to Ravi, who cut the call as he was in meeting. She texted him

" Ravi, results came out. I cleared CA FINALs. Now your wife is a Chartered Accountant "

" Congratulations CA saritha. I am so happy for you. Can't wait to meet you"

" LOVE YOU RAVI".

It is the first time she said I love you to him after marriage. He was on Cloud 9. He replied her " I have been waiting for this word from long time. "LOVE YOU TOO SARU" ( tears were falling down while he is texting her).
