Chapter 8: Soon I Won't Be

<p>Next day came earlier than the mother and daughter expected... And why wouldn't they feel it?<br/>Last night, two of them along with Kesi spent all of their time catching up with each other just like when Evelyn was 5 or 6.<br/>And when Evelyn again called 'Sister Kesi' like she used to when they were kids, to the young maid instead of calling her by the name, Kesi was moved to tears.<br/>Both Winter and Kesi felt the changes in Evelyn who had suddenly become jolly and lively after a day's trauma. But they liked this side of hers instead of her gloomy and sad look.<br/>Now, Evelyn was sitting in front of the mirror while Kesi with some deep eye bags making Evelyn's hairstyle. Well, Evelyn wasn't in any good condition either, but her jolly mood swapped away all her tiredness.<br/>Moreover, this pinkish gown she was wearing really dampaned her mood. And for the first time she agreed with that b*stard Alexen. Her previous self really tried to imitate Amelia, resulting herself to lose in other people's taste.<br/>Pink and white suits Amelia... But for her, the dark colours enhance her beauty.<br/>No wonder, people liked to compare her with Amelia. After all, she was giving them the chance to compare on diamond plate.<br/>"Sister Kesi, are you free today?"<br/>Without any hesitation, Kesi gave a positive answer. No matter what, she was always free for her Young Miss. And moreover, she works for Duke Crawford, so her only job was to take care of Evelyn. Duke Whitford is nothing but her Mistress's husband and Young Miss's father to her.<br/>"Great! Let's go shopping after a while then."<br/>"Ah? Young Miss, you want to go shopping?"<br/>"Yes, I think it's time to doll myself up."<br/>Kesi stared at the reflection of the young girl in front of the mirror from the side. Doll up? Her Young Miss wants to doll up? But isn't she dolled up enough? What's more to do there?<br/>"And also Sister Kesi, please bring me some cucumbers, potatos and a kitchen knife from the kitchen after you finish making my hair, okay?"<br/>"Kni-knife? Young Miss, What are you gonna do with it?" Kesi looked at Evelyn horrified as if Evelyn asked her to bring knives to slit her throat, completely ignoring the 'poor cucumbers and potatoes'.<br/>Suddenly, Evelyn wanted to tease this elder sister of hers as she adjusted her facial expressions, "Well, you see, since I can't hit that little Whitford, it won't be a problem if I direct my anger in something else, right?"<br/>"You-young Miss, You... You? Are you..."<br/>"Pfft! Haha! Sister Kesi, you're so funny. I just to slice the cucumbers and potatoes into pieces of my own convenient. What are you thinking? Looking at your chicken egg like eyes, I couldn't continue to tease you! Haha!"<br/>"YOUNG MISS!" Kesi stamped her foot like a child as her face flushef red.<br/>"Oh! Okay! Okay! Hahaha! Okay, I'll stop laugh... Laughing! Hahaha!"<br/>Hearing the laughter coming out from Evelyn's room, Amelia who had come to visit Evelyn along with Aiden (who was forced by Amelia to come with her and came 'reluctantly') was stunned.<br/>"Wow! She's finally laughing!" Amelia giggled a little as she pushed open the door to enter.<br/>'Is Thi-this? Is this how she laughs? Her laughter sounds so sooth- Wait! What am I thinking!" Aiden shook his head and stepped into the room after being 'pulled' by Amelia.<br/>But as soon as Evelyn stood up from her sit, after Kesi was done, both of them came face to face with Amelia and Kesi.<br/>The smiling face of Evelyn from earlier was replaced by an indifferent face, as the aura around her changed to a complete one eighty degree. It felt like as if she was highly guarded just like how one stands in front of an enemy.<br/>Kesi, according to her status, stepped back a little but she also got into her guards.<br/>Winter had gone to her natal home to discuss about the altering of her loveless marriage with Duke Whitford and hence she would be back only during the lunch time. The Two guards of the Duke Crawford mansion had accompanied the Madam, leaving only Kesi to be with Evelyn.<br/>Now if both of this young master and young miss of Whitford household decide to bully her Young Miss, how will she protect Evelyn?<br/>Even if This Young Miss Amelia isn't that bad... But Kesi glanced at the handsome youth by the girl's side. He was just opposite of the face he had. Sinister and Dark. With his sharp mouth and flawless planning, just how many times had he humiliated Evelyn, even Kesi had forgotten the numbers!<br/>As for the brother and sister pair, their faces immediately changed seeing their little sister's attitude.<br/>Amelia showed a bitter and helpless expression as she somewhat felt guilty because of Alexen.<br/>As for Aiden, his face darkened. He somehow felt humiliated. Just when was it that this little girl didn't try to cling on to him? Each time they met, even if he try to deny it, He enjoyed how her face used to brighten up and called him 'Eldest Brother'.<br/>"Eldest Young Master, Young Miss, how can I be of your help?"<br/>Stunned... That was what they see in each other's eyes when Amelia and Aiden looked at themselves in shock.<br/>Evelyn's voice was so respectful yet so distant that it was creepy. It felt like she wasn't talking with her relatives but extremely unwanted strangers!<br/>But it wasn't what their attention was in! It was the way she addressed them! Just what's going on here? Why is she calling them like that? Eldest Young Master? Young Miss?<br/>"Eldest Young Master? Young Miss?" The voice rang again.<br/>It was Amelia who broke her dazed state first and sized up the young girl in front of her. Nothing had changed in her... then why?<br/>As for Aiden, he subconsciously blurted out, Anger was dripping from his voice as if someone had made him eat sh*t, "What. Did. You. Call. Me. Just. Now.? Is this one of your new schemes? A memory loss this time, huh?!"<br/>"Little sister, What are you talking about? Why don't you call me 'Eldest Sister' like before? Are you angry with me because of Second Brother?"<br/>At the end of her sentence, her voice shook as her eyes got occupied with tears.<br/>Seeing her like this, Aiden who was also a little dazed threw a contemptuous glare at Evelyn unfriendly. He thought, 'Hmph! She again made my little doll cry! How disgusting!' and then he tried to coax Amelia. But before he could say anything, he heard his 'little sister's' words which almost made him spat out his blood.<br/>"But isn't it normal! You're not my sister and I'm not one of you. This is the ONLY way I can address you. And also, isn't this how you wanted me to call all of you, Eldest Young Master?"<br/>Evelyn glanced indifferently at the two Whitford kids as she threw a look of 'I know that you cussed me inside your head' to Aiden with a soft smile that didn't reach her eyes.<br/>"Wha-What?" Aiden throat went dry as he felt like the ground under his feet was slipping. Just what the h*ll is happening here?<br/>With a frown, Evelyn looked at them and didn't say anything else. No matter how much she try to act indifferently, only she knows how scared she was feeling at the moment.<br/>H*ck! These were the guys who killed her even before she turned into a complete adult in her past life!<br/>And now standing in the sake room, she felt like she would go crazy soon. A part of her wanted to injure them badly and the other part wanted to retreat and hid herself away from them.<br/>"Can you please tell me why you're here?"<br/>Evelyn at last dropped her act. She couldn't take this silence anymore. Specially that look in there eyes as if she had grown an extra head.<br/>No matter what, she didn't have the patience of a matured lady! First time, she died when she was eighteen and Second Time, she died in her fifteen.<br/>"Presumptuous! Where are your manners?" How can you be so disrespectful to the legitimate children of the house as the illegitimate child of the household?"<br/>A voice came from behind and soon the ruffian like Alexen made an unceremonious entry.<br/>Earlier he couldn't find his two siblings and he was bored to death. So he had thought to pay his younger sister a 'visit'. But who would gave thought that the moment he came near the door he would hear her mannerless words and that too directed at his beloved siblings.<br/>"Hmph! Soon I won't be!" Evelyn scoffed back, not realising that her words were dropped like a nuclear bomb on the other Whitford kids, as it shook their hearts.</p>
