"I'm f*cking telling you all that I didn't do it. Then why aren't you believing me?! It really wasn't me! Not me!" She screamed endlessly but none believed her. Her previous calm and collected demeanor was all gone, replaced by her insanity. Insanity to prove her innocence, but none to believe her. Her screams continued until the far end when her living body was lit in fire in front of all the citizens and her family, as she was thrown from the cliff in that state. But while, her body was falling from the cliff, her last sentence shook every people's cores, "You all are killing me for the crime I didn't do. I curse you all to have the same fate as mine. Die being framed." That was the end of the villainess of the story. But the story appears good only if it's story. What's with this sudden change in the plot then? Liana still couldn't believe that she had transmigrated to the book and even in the body of the worst character, The Villainess Evelyn Whitford. Liana sat in front of the mirror as she grabbed her hair in her fists and screamed loudly internally, "Ahhhh! Someone please come and save me!"

(Evelyn's POV)
.
.
.
It hurts! It hurts like hell!
I don't know who did it and how, but the story that I had been addicted to since for a month or so, wasn't just a story. It was the collection of the lives in this world... collection of my life, my mom's life... and my enemies' lives.
I still can't believe that I, Evelyn Whitford had actually become a villainess for all.
A villainess for the people in this world... A villainess for the people in that world too.
Why?
Why me?
I was just trying to have a complete family... I just wanted people to stop comparing me with Amelia in everything I did.
Is it that hard to get?
I'm not a schemer! I'm not evil!
I didn't harm anyone!
Yes, I spoke rudely sometimes, but it was only to defend myself... And it was also when I was severely bullied by those rich daughters and sons!
Then, why was the truth so twisted and presented in front of so many people like that?!!
Or the writer only wanted to highlight Amelia? So he or she did it, so that everyone likes her and hates me?
Wasn't it enough for the people here? Why black coloured me to the people there too?
No wonder I had felt a strong connection to this story, the moment I started reading it! I was actually the EVIL VILLAINESS of the story!
A villainess who was only framed repeatedly and her self protection marked as schemes!
Huh! What a joke!
Even I, the character in question of the story, was waiting stupidly to read the intimacy of the MCs.
How ironic that can be?!
Still, I got a crucial information from reading the story.... The truth of my death!
Even when I was burning in that hellish fire, I wanted to explain for my 'sins' to the people presented there, not knowning they were the ones who came up with that plan!
Heh! Harm the Emperor? Harm the Empress!
How ironic!
Can anyone ever believe that the villainess they all despised was actually a little girl who was suffering every second!
The pain 'The Villainess' is feeling is just too much for her little heart to bear.
I was the one who was harmed... ruthlessly by them.
And my only crime was that I loved them.
Since that's the case... I don't need them to be with me anymore.
I'll stop pestering them!
Stop placing my hopes on them!
And treat (as I glance at my mother's arms which was tightly wrapped around my little body) the people who love me the best way possible. I'll never make my people regret choosing to be with me!
But first, I need to protect myself.
.
(End of POV)
_____________________

Winter was still hugging her daughter when she felt some movements. She looked down and found her daughter had long stopped crying and moving in her embrace to look at her (Winter) face.
Earlier, she was still thinking about how to protect her daughter from her traumas, so she got a little distracted.
With a move, she freed Evelyn who stared back right into her eyes. And what's more, the first words that she uttered after calming down was the most shocking thing that she ever known to.
"Momma, can we leave this place? I don't want to stay here?
"..."
"Momma?"
"..."
"MOMMA!!" Evelyn shook Winter a little as she whispered yelled!
Kesi who was just walked in after refilling the water jug was so scared by Evelyn's suppressed shrill voice, that her hands almost let go of the jug.
"Huh? Huh? What?"
As if broken from a sudden confused state, Winter sized up her daughter to see if she had hurt her head severely or not.
Or else how could her daughter who was so focused on gaining her father's attention as well as those ill-mannered kids', would let go of her obsession that easily?
Taking Winter's handsin hers, Evelyn smiled a little as she shook her head, clearly knowing what her mother was thinking, making Winter embarrassed.
"Momma, am seriously asking you. Can we leave this place?"
Determination and concern was evident on her face, making Winter think repeatedly on how to answer that question without hurting her daughter's feelings.
As a mother, of course, she wants to take her daughter away from such a harsh environment.
But for that, she needs to divorce Duke Albert. And knowing her daughter quite well, she won't agree for her parents to separate.
(Winter wasn't worried that she or her daughter would suffer after divorcing Duke Albert, as Winter's father was a Duke himself and the Emperor's right hand man.)
"Sweetheart, do you want to go for a vacation or may-"
"No, Momma! I want to leave this place. I- I'm scared, Momma. I do-don't want to die miserably..." again.
As Evelyn spoke, her voice softened down, until the last word was spoken only in her mind. She thought that her mother was reluctant to leave Duke Albert by how much her mother loves him.
(Evelyn didn't know that Winter had long given up her feelings for The Duke. From the story she read, Winter never left Duke Whitford even after Evelyn died. She only read that Winter and Kesi was crying in the last chapter for Evelyn's death... And then she transmigrated... or got reborn here.)
But those words were enough to trigger the protectiveness of a mother.
'Yes, we need to leave. If she stays here, her life will be really at the stake. Moreover, I don't trust that brat, Alexen even for 1%. And if I stay here as the 'Duchess' I may never be strong enough to fight for my daughter's rights. I think it's time to contact my father after 8 months of not contacting him.'
"No one will ever harm you, Miss. You're so lovely! How can you say such things! Those bit- those people are evil who always try to harm you. They deserve to be tortured in hell."
Kesi who had just poured the water into a glass and walked to the bedside, overheard the discussion and her face immediately swelled up in anger.
She handed the water glass to Evelyn who gave a quick thank you and gulped the water in one go.
"Kesi, control your emotions!" Winter sternly reminded Kesi but she didn't refute her words. Then she turned to her daughter and wiped her tears stain face lovingly, "It's okay now, dear. You're safe now and will be more safe after this. Will you like to have your meal here?"
And just the mention of food, made Evelyn's stomach growl. The bad habit that Evelyn had even taken to her second life was that her habit of having night snacks. And Winter was too familiar with it.
Little Evelyn would always wake up during the mid-night and sneak with Kesi to steal food. Winter specially reserved a small portion of food for that purpose while the cook cooked.
Evelyn's face flushed as she nodded.
With a smile, Kesi immediately left the room to bring food for her mistres. And the way she left, both mother and daughter burst into mid night laughter loudly as Kesi's back potraited 'I'll bring all the food left in the kitchen by my strong hands.'

_________________

Thank you so much for your power stones, my lovely readers.
@kasmin21 @Alisa_Downing @Manne_Tejaswini
