[POV: Wanda and Laura's location after Vision left…]
Wanda felt her heart speed up a bit after knowing that the people she were facing were sorcerers. She could already feel the faint tremors signaling the arrival of sentinels.
"I'll try to hold them off as much as I can but don't hesitate to call Pietro or Davis if you start getting overwhelmed, okay?"
"Got it." The young girl nodded and the gleam in her eyes changed as her claws shot out in welcome of incoming robots.
The group of four sorcerers attacked at the same time, two aiming for Wanda while the other two for Laura, but the Scarlet Witch reacted in tangent and created shields in Laura's direction while a red palm was conjured up in front of her to stop the attack coming from her.
"You all are facing me." The palm shrunk to a slightly smaller size after blocking the attack and divided itself into three additional appendages that floated around her.
"Confidence or ignorance? Your words sound foolish regardless." One of the cloaked sorcerers, a woman, spoke with contempt dripping all over her words.
Wanda did not bother replying with her words instead a scarlet red aura covered her as she attacked.
The reason why sorcerers were feared wasn't actually because of how strong they actually were but rather the complexity of their spells. Which was the reason why older sorcerers were feared and generally perceived as being stronger.
But Wanda did not dwell on it based on the sole fact that she believed she could overpower their complex magic spells with sheer power.
'Whoever said a sorcerer is needed to beat another sorcerer?'
The palms around her shot forth to the sorcerers while an eight headed red life-like snake appeared behind and hissed with bone chilling ferocity.
"What in the nine hells is tha-" The sorcerer who spoke out of fear and surprise was blindsided by a palm that hit him directly in the stomach and sent him into the ground.
"Xacrow!"
Before he could pick himself up or receive aid from his allies, one of the serpent's heads slithered around him and bathed him with a mouthful or red hex blasts before swallowing him which led to a new development.
The head which ate the man gained a bit of black hue, vividly differentiating it from the other head.
~Hisssssss!~
"He says your friend was thirsty, now the others are eager." Wanda said with a sadistic grin on her face that no one knew she had, not even Pietro or Vision.
"Damned witch!"
"Oh, come on now. Throwing names already?"
A more destructive salvo of attacks began as the trio of dark sorcerers put in all they could to kill Wanda while the Witch's eerily cold red eyes bore through them as she sought another prey.
They all involuntarily shivered, almost paralyzed, as they met Wanda's stare that felt like a demonic serpent's gaze.
On the other side of away from where Wanda was engaged in a battle between the three sorcerers, Laura's eyes glanced at the sentinels she was engaged with with utmost caution.
"Activate 'Thundercat' mode." She muttered.
The collar of her suit extended and covered her entire face with a pair of small sharp feline ears at the top of her head.
Instead of her normal pair of two adamantium blades on the knuckles of her two hands, an extra adamantium blade extended in their middle making it three blades on each hand. Apart from that, adamantium claws extended from the tip of each of her fingers and toes.
The Thundercat mode was something new Vision came up with for her suit. It used the enhancing properties of vibranium, stimulated using tiny jolts of electricity to enhance Laura's all-round senses and reaction time to over five times of what he considered her most optimal state.
With heightened danger senses and ears that picked even the most minute sound around her, Laura's destructive capabilities far exceeded the highest bar of what she could achieve on her own at her age.
Dodging the plasma blast from one of the sentinels, she blitzed forward with clearly inhuman speeds and used her shorter height to her advantage and targeted the legs of the two nearest sentinels.
The moment the first one fell, she ran up its body with feline ease, effortlessly dodging its vain efforts to grab her, she lopped off its head and jumped away from it the very second it exploded.
The other sentinels immediately gained on her, some shooting plasma rays while the others simple elemental attacks in the form of blasts. She couldn't dodge all of them but she could tank them because of her suit, and release concentrated bursts of kinetic energy to a far larger degree than her suit normally would.
A sentinel tried attacking her from behind but a tail pierced its energy core and slithered back into the suit a split second before it exploded.
'I told Vision not to add a tail.' She inwardly complained and groaned as she looked at the unending number of sentinels.
She already killed seven sentinels but compared to the increasing number around her, it was negligible.
The hair on her body stood on their ends and the tail subconsciously shot out and wrapped itself around a nearby tree and pulled her towards it moments before a concussive blast destroyed where she was just at.
'Intense buzzing sound. An atomic destabilizing frequency blast maybe?'
She identified the reason why her senses flared. Vibranium was by no means infallible and Vision made sure they knew the type of attacks that could affect the suit and the degree of damage they might sustain if they were to be exposed to such attacks.
She might not have thought too much of it if the suit was in its normal form but the Thundercat mode worked on electrical discharges that enriched her body with the vibranium properties of the suit, meaning that a molecular destabilizing attack could possibly affect the electrical discharges and temporarily stun her.
'They are learning fast.' She could see that the other sentinels were already changing their form of attack.
Seeing that they were all charging up the same attack, she tapped her belt and three tiny metal disks expanded into her hands.
Before the sentinels could fire off their attack and turn her to a sitting duck, she threw the three disks in the different direction the sentinels were gathered and the moment the first blast was fired, the disks expanded to a bigger size and released a magnetic wave of its own that made their attack to go out of control and explode in their hands.
It is basic workmanship to have solutions to any possible defect your work might have down the line.
Laura swiftly attacked the nearest sentinel, digging her claws into its body before latching herself onto another one, pushing herself to kill as much as she could before they regained their motor functions.
Her movement could only be perceived as a black blurry splotch by the naked eye as she moved from one target to the other.
On Wanda's side, despite being under the raging attacks of three sorcerers, she was holding them off on equal grounds, sometimes pushing them back before they could secure any advantage over her.
She would have had an overwhelming advantage over them if not for the tricky nature of some of their spells that forced her to be wary of everything around her.
It wasn't like the sorcerers were having any better a time against her. The only woman in their group had lost an arm to one of Wanda's hydra heads. She was forced to cut it off the moment she got caught to save herself, unfortunately such a wound was a glaring disadvantage in the battle as a whole.
The rotating palms around her had long turned into vile thin hands with sickly elongated claws, shrinking and expanding at will, and had increased from three to six and were all attacking one sorcerer while the other two sorcerers each faced off against four heads of the hydra.
The blackened head, salivating for another taste of its prey, struck fiercely against the shield of handicapped woman, forcing her to grit her bloodied teeth as he desperately defended herself as she was unable to dodge.
Wanda's eyes gleamed at the opportunity and pressed the attack harder on the woman but instead of using four heads like before, she commanded all the other heads to attack only the woman as her partner tried dodging an attack that wouldn't come, realizing all too late that the expected attack wasn't aimed at him.
The woman's face paled white as eight pairs of eyes bore into her with maddened intensity as they attacked. Her shield failed pitifully under the force of the hydra and her body got snacked into eight parts before she could let out any despairing screams.
All eight heads let out shrill heart wrenching hisses before turning to the two remaining sorcerers, 6:2, keeping them in slithering reach in case they tried pulling out an escape pass or conjuring up a portal.
"Since it's just the two of you, maybe I can push myself more without too much caution." As soon as those words left her mouth, the hearts of the two sorcerers stopped as despair ate away at it with ravenous impunity.
Everything around them gained a red glow and the ground was uprooted but what abandoned all thoughts of escape were the huge red constructs formed with rocks that crawled out of the ground. They all had disproportionate limbs, some even without heads, each holding different types of barbed chained weapons as they surrounded the two sorcerers.
"How about it? This is my current limit and I need willing puppets to test out its effectiveness." She said with labored breaths as trying to control all the constructs seamlessly took a huge mental toll on her. She was definitely going to wake up with a headache.
Before the sorcerers could curse at her with their last breaths, all the chains were thrown at them with humanly impossible speeds that they went directly through the sorcerers' bodies.
An interesting point was that any chain that collided with another chain either fuse together to become one or just pass through the chain fluidly.
She let the hydra snack on the sorcerers as she sat down on her butt to catch her breath.
"I'm definitely having Vision carry me back." She said with a smile as she saw him approaching Laura's location and clearing out the hoards of sentinels stalking around the little cat.
