Chapter 07: Writing a Novel

"Boss Teuchi! One more katsu ramen!" Aoki exclaimed enthusiastically, causing Kushina to glare at him sharply.

"Kid, I didn't say I would treat you twice, did I?" Kushina said with furrowed brows, her voice firm but not entirely angry.

"Eh, but I did order two ramens from the start. Since the beautiful sister said she would treat me, then the beautiful sister has to keep her promise, right?" Aoki replied with a wide smile, his face full of innocence, which made Kushina feel a bit annoyed.

"Damn, this kid!" Kushina muttered, feeling a little trapped by Aoki's simple logic.

"Come on, Kushina. Besides, you were the one who offered to treat Aoki. Let him enjoy his ramen," Minato reassured Kushina, his voice gentle yet authoritative.

"Uh... Alright, Minato," Kushina replied, reluctantly giving in but with a small smile on her lips.

"Oh, by the way, does the beautiful sister know about Jiraiya the Sennin?" Aoki suddenly asked with renewed enthusiasm, looking at Kushina with eyes full of excitement.

"Hmm...? I know him, kid. What's up? Are you a fan of Mr. Jiraiya?" Minato answered, taking over the question. Minato looked at Aoki with curiosity, wondering why this kid was so interested in Jiraiya.

"Yeah, you could say that. I want Jiraiya the Sannin to help me write a novel!" Aoki said excitedly, causing Minato to nearly spill the ramen he was eating.

"A novel? What kind of novel?" Minato asked with a face full of doubt, clearly surprised by Aoki's statement.

"About women bathing in the river," Aoki replied confidently, as if it were a completely normal thing.

"Pfff!" Minato, Kushina, and even Teuchi couldn't hold back their laughter, ramen, and saliva spraying from their mouths.

"Cough... cough... Why do you want to write a novel like that, kid?" Minato asked, his face red from holding back laughter and embarrassment.

"I found an old novel in a small alley near the trash can, and it was about women bathing in a hot spring. I thought Jiraiya the Sannin would surely like stories like that, so I want to write it with him," Aoki explained with a wide smile, looking very enthusiastic.

"Kid... you're too young for adult things like this. Why do you want to write such a novel?" Minato asked awkwardly, unsure of what to say.

"That's because I want to ask Jiraiya the Sannin if I can write a novel with him," Aoki replied, his face pouting and looking disappointed for not being allowed.

"Oh, is that so, Aoki?" Boss Teuchi asked curiously, looking at Aoki with interest.

"I... if I tell you, you all have to keep it a secret, okay!" Aoki said in a low voice, full of curiosity.

"Oh, I promise, kid. So what is it?" Minato asked with increasing curiosity.

"I once read an old book in the Konoha library, hidden in a place that was quite hard to find," Aoki said seriously.

"The book discussed an energy called Natural Energy, or more commonly known as Sage Chakra. I want to practice this because I can't rely on the chakra I have... it's too little. So, I want to use Natural Energy as an alternative."

"However, the book only mentioned Natural Energy and Sage Chakra without providing training methods or other details. I want to ask Jiraiya the Sannin because I know he is a very extraordinary person and easy to talk to, especially if I discuss women bathing in hot springs." Aoki explained with a hopeful expression.

Minato, Kushina, and even Teuchi were shocked to hear this. However, when Aoki mentioned talking to Jiraiya about women in hot springs, they felt confused about whether to laugh or smile awkwardly.
