'Not this nuisance again!' Obsidian sounded like he'd rolled his eyes.
When Cerene raised her gaze to Spheris, there wasn't an apologetic look in her eyes, she was determined and adamant. Spheris realized that nothing he could say would convince her to return to that hill, so he simply let out a breath of resignation and scoffed.
'You knew I couldn't take down these beasts on my own, didn't you?' he asked the God in his mind.
Obsidian did not reply.
'What was your plan? That the multitude of Grimms would eventually be overwhelming, and when I'm on the brink of death, I'll reach out to you asking for help? Begging you to save me?'
