This forest is sinister as heck, looks like im in a horror movie.

I have been wondering recently, about that energy I suck from monsters with soul steal.

That energy is a soul for sure, but I think it works like some kind of life force.

After all, I gain more MP and HP by stealing it.

Then if it gives MP it must be connected to mana and magic.

I wish I had some kind of tutorial for this world sigh...

Well, at least I got the Status, a loyal companion that likes to hide features from me.

Thinking now, could I learn skills without the Status help?

I can level up skills without souls if I try hard enough but I dont really know about learning a skill from total zero.

I float at full speed into the forest, the ground is shaking a little bit.

In the place I was just a moment ago, there are worms the size of a person, whitish and pinkish colored, with bodies full of dirt from the ground.

What the heck! there are 8 of them!

How do I even fight this?! they are jumping like dolphins into the ground!

I float in panic while behind me the ground is shaking and worms jump up and go back into the ground.

Someone tells these worms that this is not a lake damn! this is completely cheating!

Wait, calm down, survival instincts kick in!

I have Spiritual senses, I can predict where they will emerge, I just need to time it right.

I continue to float while casting fire spear.

I stop and wait.

Calm down ghost, feel it!

I can feel 8 worms, they are making their way into the ground like moles.

3 are coming in the left, 4 into the right, and 1 in the middle right below where I stand.

The ground in here was crumbled and I teleported behind and sent a fire spear piercing through one worm's body and seeding it flying in flames.

A! Now that I think about I didnt use Soul Steal to collect the soul!

While I think of others worms jump into the ground again coming toward me.

I cant give myself the luxury to use Soul Steal now! And if they go too deep into the ground it will get out of range anyway.

I stop and wait again for them.

Now that I think about it, can I just cast more than one fire spear at the same time?

I feel 4 coming from the left side and 3 on the right.

I try casting more than one fire spear.

7 red circles appear around me making a circle around my body.

I wait for a few seconds and boom!

7 fire spears go out toward the worms that are getting out of the ground.

But I only hit 3 of them.

Damn, I need to train my aim!

I teleport behind to evade their dash.

Im stupid! how can I be so dumb?! I used too much at the same time!

Calm down it is ok for now, they cant get me if I just keep floating.

While floating trying to get away from them, I spot a minotaur with Spiritual senses.

I float toward the minotaur he spots me and rushes to kill me.

I turn to the right and start to float away from him.

Now there is a bunch of worms and a minotaur behind me.

[Soul Steal]

I cast Soul Steal on the minotaur to steal his MP.

Ok! It is working.

My MP is going up faster now while I run away from them.

Now the question is, how the hell am I supposed to take care of this?!

Hmm? One of the worms strikes the minotaur with a headbutt!

The minotaur goes flying a little and hits his back in a tree.

He is going for the worms now! thats it! sometimes I forget that monsters are ultra-dumb.

Thats it minotaur! Im rooting for you brother!

I stop in my tracks and I go back to where the minotaur is trying to fight the worms.

He is getting wrecked! He cant predict where the worms are going to emerge, which makes it impossible to fight them, but at least he is enduring their headbutts.

Sorry brother! I will suck your soul while you fight, I hope you dont mind!

Poor minotaur he is being jumped by a gang of worms.

They are hitting him from every side without letting my brother breathe.

Minotaur is hitting the air furiously trying to hit the worms but it is too much for him.

Look at you, not even conscious, and still determined to show the world what you can do!

Wow! I leveled up 2 whole levels, kinda low in souls though.

Well, I didnt have the chance to take from the worms after all.

I gained 6 points, I will put it all in agility for now making 16 agility.

Time to float around some more.

What do I level up now? 

Teleportation I dont think it is a good idea, The first upgrade costs 8 souls then the seconds must be around 18 or 16.

The third will probably be even worse.

I could try to go for fear inducement too, im kind of curious about it.

I float around lost in thoughts.

Jey and company.

About 30 people are gathering at the start of the corrupted forest.

They look fearful.

They are looking at a sigh of countless trees destroyed and a Jet Snake corpse on the ground.

"It is getting stronger" Says Irilda with a fearful tone

Jey swallowed dry and turned to Irilda.

"How strong it can become?" Says Jey with a hint of fear

"Hard to say, but it started as a ghost for sure, ghosts cant do much the only damage they can do is by suffocating enemies with their bodies" Says Irilda casually

Then she takes a book out from her waist and opens it.

"Let me see... Found it, it is said that ghosts have a few paths to evolve, after ghost, it can turn into a Specter, a Wraith, or... the worst of them, a White Lady" Says Irilda with a serious tone

Jey looked at her puzzled.

"Why? Wraiths are stronger than White ladies no?" Says Jey

Irilda turned to him with a serious face and closed her book slightly stronger.

"We dont have to worry because this type of corpse we found is definitely a wraith mana drain trait. Wraiths are stronger, yes, but a White Lady is the path to evolving into a Banshee" Says Irilda with a serious tone and a hint of fear

Jey looks even more puzzled.

"A Banshee? Never heard of it" Says Jey casually

"A Banshee is a spirit said to be capable of see-through death itself, destroying whole armies with a scream, control the powers of life through mana, if I had to make a comparison a Banshee is the spiritual version of an Elder Licht, maybe even stronger" Says Irilda with a serious tone

Jey is in shock, his jaw is on the ground and his eyes seem to express disbelief.

"Stronger than an Elder Licht? Do you mean stronger than the monster that annihilated most of the capital 50 years ago?" Says Jey with a disbelief tone and a hint of fear

Irilda put her book on her waist again and looked at Jey casually

"At least is what the encyclopedia says, not like someone can just trip in a monster between monsters like that, there is no report of a banshee for many years now" Says Irilda casually

Jey sighed in relief

"Thank the gods, it already is a wraith then" Says Jey casually
