C 90. Gossip

I did not see Director Khan or any of those that I know till I reached where we rode the teleporting pod back to Garden View.

I was going to take him to the garden when the Directors appeared.

"You handle yourself well there even though you never interacted with Irene before." Director khan said smiling.

"You do know that your granddaughter's power is a cheat right? With it, she can go anywhere and socialise better than anyone I know." Director 9 said laughing.

But after she looked at us both me and Director Khan were gawking at her. And I know our thoughts are the same. 

How dare she say my power is a cheat, she is the greatest cheat we ever know.

"Come on, I'm not that impressive. Even the one you call Great Sage compliments your power all the time" she said smiling as if it's nothing.

"That is because you refused to meet him in person, I wonder what he will have said," Director khan said.

I blurted out, "Any time he looked towards you when you are in this Garden View he always said, 'Crazy world! how in Heaven Above could that exist?'"

Director Khan's face furrowed and looked at Director 9 with seriousness. He did not say anything but as if waiting for an explanation!

"Woah scary!" She said to him.

I should not be here, seeing the room taking another atmospheric storm. A little chicken like me should not be present. 

I was going to order the guard to move forward to the garden when she spoke.

"What was the time that he said that?"

~gulp~

Why did I say anything? 

I quickly tell her the time I was able to remember. 

She swapped the air and a hologram screen appeared that shows a bundle of voice frequency. She scroll and press one that denotes the date I gave her.

It's one of the times Subject 3519 is whispering. Strangely for me, I can hear some of the things he was saying!

"I can understand some of part of it!" I blurted out in shock.

"You sure about that?" Director 9 asked with a smile.

"Yes, I can but not all," I answer.

We all looked at Director Khan and his face now looked fine without the scary look earlier.

"Hmm. I have a bad experience working with people like you. That's why I couldn't trust you positively. .. I'm sorry!"

"It fine. Let go back to business, then."

Now, I understand what the foxes are thinking. And it's all because of me.

I said what subject 3519 commented on her but Director Khan had every known comment or conversation that the subject ever did.

But never did he ever find where the subject commented on Director 9. He trusts me so much to believe that I will not lie to him.

In that case, Director 9 must have used her mysterious power and mask that comment from his records which is a breach of privacy.

"I can't give you to him for a long time because I'm behind schedule."

"Just a week will suffice. It's painful to see a lost soul like him wandering without a destination!"

"Keep your pity till he reaches your Sector as for now, we finalised the contract."

"You are distrustful. But I'm fine with it. I guess you obtained it from Irene?"

"Yes, the demoness give me two contracts one for his slavery and this one." The room gets silent, eerie silence.

"Haha, you got balls Khan, I give you that."

"Well, my courage is because you are here… she did not hear me, right?" He asked eying Director 9 to respond.

"She hasn't." 

"Good." He said gladly.

Why am I being embroiled in this monster talk? I keep my present as small as I could hoping no one will ask me about Director Irene.

But seeing that smile, a smile that never produces anything good directed at me, I know I'm screwed.

"Susan!"

"Y… yes Director?"

"Tell me about Director Irene! I will update your personal guard to Tier 5 while also this Tier 4 will be sent to your mother."

"Unrefusable offer!" Director 9 said, "go on tell us."

I take a deep breath. Fuck this two, they have been looking for a chance and Im the unlucky victim.

"She is blank for the most part. But, there is a strand of love that I caught by chance when I was explaining to her why I thought the boy is Captain Leroy Vincent."

"Go on, tell us more!"

~sigh~

Director 9 better protect me and later make me forget I have this conversation.

"The strand is minute but she quickly turns it off. And that is all but then there is this release of sorrow.

What I understand is she is deeply relieved seeing the Captain is fine."

They all eye me as if there is more to say. But after racking her brain I remember and make a connection with something.

"Captain Leroy Vincent shows or feels something when his body is dying. As if he believes someone will come to his rescue.

The way he felt it, at first it's directed at Great Sage but later at someone. I can't say for sure if she matches that frequency!"

"Interesting, she did put a block on you but your experience in Divine Happiness Vision has made you strong enough to talk about her without falling down." Director 9 commented.
