My thoughts was, he had been spamming high level ability and yet he didn't ran out of energy. There should be some sort of limitations or it won't be anymore exciting than just boring op character

I see a lot of novel uses this tactic and showed it work but if someone is intelligent it means they can think the same way and plan accordingly. It doesn't make sense if just the protagonist can think of that scheme while the antagonist equally smart but failed to have the same thoughts.
