Betrayal

It was only Logan, Ava, Lia and Jack on the dining table. They were all eating quietly until Logan said "I really enjoyed the dinner you made last night Ava."

Ava gave Logan a confused look until a look of recognition wash over her then she quickly replied "I am glad you liked it"

Logan saw the confusion on Ava face and he became certain that it was not Ava who made him dinner.

Ava looked at Lia briefly and went back to eating her food.

"Jack I would like to have a word with you in my study's" Logan said.

"Logan I will be at the pack house for the women, to see if they need my help with anything." Ava said.

"Sure" Logan stood and gave Ava a kiss on her forehead before leaving the dinning table with Jack.

After Logan and Jack left the dinning table, Ava looked at Lia and said "I thought you cooking for Logan was a way to repair your relationship?"

"Yes, that was my intention" Lia said facing her food.

"If that was truly your intention then why did you lie to Logan that I was the one who cooked. I hope you don't actually believe in the saying that the way to a man's heart is true is belly." Ava replied tauntingly

Lia was about to retort Ava words when she noticed that Ava wound was no longer there.

"How did your wound healed so fast?" Lia couldn't help but asked.

"Does it matter? the wound wasn't that deep anyway. I'm done with breakfast" Ava stood up and also left the dinning table.

Lia knew Ava was lying to her after all she also saw the wound and it was very deep. it would have taken a week or even two weeks for sure injury to be completely healed for a human. Then how did Ava wound healed completely within a night.

Mother always talk about Ava Awakening, could it be Ava is not really human, if that's the case then what is she?

Lia realized she was the only one left in the dinning table, not really having an appetite for food, she stood up and went to her room.

"What! what do you mean by another mate?" Jack asked shockingly.

"When I woke up this morning I felt another mate bond and when we all sat down for breakfast I realized I truly do have another mate"

"But it was just you, me, Ava and....." Jack stopped when he realized something, he immediately looked at Logan and whispered "Lia. Lia is your other mate"

"Yes" Logan replied coldly.

"But how is that possible? Lia has been with us for almost a month now. If Lia was truly your second mate you would have felt it immediately."

"That's because the mate bond is fake."

"What do you mean by it's fake?"

"Every mate has their own scent but her scent is exactly the same with Ava and not only that she lied to me saying that Ava prepared dinner for me"

"So the food you ate last night was prepared by Lia."

"Yes and I am sure it was through that food she was able to make me feel that she is my mate."

"But how was she able to do something so crazy, I thought Lia was just an ordinary human who lost her memory."

"The only explanation is that she is a witch and I doubt if she truly lost her memories."

"What are you going to do with her?"

"I would have killed her immediately but I can't, because Ava is fond of her."

"Then tell Ava what she has done and besides I doubt if you want your wife to be close to a crazy woman."

"Jack, I want you to do something for me" Logan suddenly said.

Seeing the coldness and seriousness of Logan, Jack quickly replied "I am ready to do anything you ask, my Alpha."

Lia was arranging her clothes in her room when she heard her room door opened, she turned and saw it was Logan who has walked into her room.

Her eyes sparkled and her heart beat with excitement when she saw Logan. She thought to herself, the spell must have worked, as she saw Logan walking towards her, she smiled but that smiled quickly turned into a frown when Logan grabbed her neck and seized her breath.

"What are you doing?" Lia manage to say.

"You are a witch aren't you? Did you really think that by making a mate bond with me I would run into your arms. You must've mistaken me as one of those foolish werewolves who feels helpless against the mate bond."

"I...I can't breathe." Lia said as tears came out of her eyes.

Seeing Lia in a state of almost losing her consciousness Logan let go of her neck and Lia fell to the floor gasping for air.

She looked at Logan in anger and said in a mocking tune "Even if you hate it, you cannot ignore the mate bond."

"I could simply kill you"

"But you wouldn't"

Logan gave a cold smile to Lia and said "And why do you think so?"

"I am Ava only friend, don't you think she will hate you if she finds out that you killed her friend."

Logan gave Lia a soft smile but even though he was smiling softly, for some reason Lia heart sank because he looked more terrified than were he smiled at her coldly.

"Do you really think I am unable to find Ava another toy to play with."

"Toy?" Lia couldn't believe Logan just called her Ava toy.

"Do not give yourself so much value Lia."

"Why did you save me from the woods"

"Did you really needed saving? Forget it, anyway I picked you up from the woods not because I cared about you but because I wanted my wife to have a playmate but you couldn't even do that right."

"The pain you will feel when you killed me will be extremely similar to the one you will feel if Ava dies"

"Do you think I am unable to handle it. You are nothing to me Lia. My only mate will always be Ava. But i can spare your life if you agree to my condition."

"What condition?"

"Do you know Serefina?"

"No I don't"

"Then you are of no use to me" Logan said coldly as he intended to strike Lia but before he could do it Lia whispered "non movere" she breathed a sigh of relief when she saw that Logan could no longer move. She stood up from the front and she said to Logan "I have render you immobile, so you will be unable to move for at least an hour."

"Do you think your little magic spells will be able to work on me?"

Lia was shock when she saw Logan moving and he was walking close to her "How is that possible you are not supposed to be able to move."

"I will ask again, do you know Serefina?" Logan asked coldly that even Lia felt as if her bones were about to freeze.

"Yes, she is my mother" Lia finally answered.

"Then let's make a deal. You will exposed Serefina true colors to Ava and I will spare your life."

"No, You expect me to betray my mother inorder to save myself. I owe her my life and I would never betray her."

Logan walked closer to Lia and held her hands and said softly "Then what do you want?"

"Ava loves Serefina so much that if I tell her the truth, she will be shattered and at that time I want you to choose me over her."

"What do you mean by that"

"I want you to leave Ava and marry me. That is my only condition of betraying my mother"

Logan gave a deep chuckle and lift Lia hands to his lips and kiss them. Lia felt her heart beating so fast when Logan lips touched her hands and when she heard Logan saying "It's a deal" she felt so happy and she looked forward to seeing Ava lose everything in this world.
