JUST A FRIEND

It's a little ironic that I rushed to have breakfast when I hadn't finished my exercise. At the mention of food, all logic left me and was replaced by a sudden hunger. I slowed down when I was close to the dining hall.

The air was filled with the delicious aroma of the meals. Sitting on his usual seat was Mr Greystone. I took my seat, prayed, and started eating. It was after a few bites that I sighed.

"What is wrong with you this time?" Mr Greystone asked with concerned time even though his words insinuated otherwise.

"I miss my home meals." I blurted out. Mr Greystone stopped eating to stare at me with an unreadable expression.

"You could teach the cook the recipes of your home meals. I mean, even I am curious as to what they taste like for you to miss them." He explained before he faced his meal.

"I wish." I giggled. "Is there any store around that sells Nigerian food items?" I asked.

"I don't know." He shrugged.
