Those footsteps halted. Right in the open doorway, she fell silent. Her brows furrowed as the confusion and shock overcame her. Why was that person there?
"Luke!" Elle exclaimed, calling the name of the man who was alone in the spacious room. There was nothing wrong if she was surprised. Who would have thought Lucas would be in her painting class? Moreover, she was standing and looking at her half-finished painting.
The man turned, then smiled at the person who had called him. "Hi, Elle."
"What are you doing here?" The question was still in the same tone, amazed by Lucas' sudden appearance. Was it all a dream? Elle dreamed of him too many times. So that the scene in front of her was like a part of her dream.
She silently pressed her thumbnail against her index finger. Elle did it strong enough that she was sure it would make an impression there. But, at least, she also believed that Lucas' existence was actual. The pain was solid proof of that fact.
