Amy turned off the car engine as soon as they reached their destination. Yes, they were her and Elle.
The two friends were sitting next to each other in the front seat, in an awkward atmosphere. Elle was silent. Likewise with Amy, who followed her friend's quietness. She didn't dare to say a word because she sensed a terrible situation was happening to Elle.
"What's wrong, Elle?" Amy asked after a long gloomy silence since the car stopped in Elle's apartment area. She purposely waited for the woman to speak. But, it seemed that Elle was still reluctant to open her mouth.
And silence engulfed them again. Elle merely looked straight ahead towards the busy street during the day. In contrast to their unusual situation, which was quiet and heavy. "Why did you come?" Slowly but surely, Elle said in a tone that she tried to be as even as possible. There was also an emotion she was trying to suppress there.
