Chapter 3

I don't remember how it happened. All I remember is just suddenly existing. I looked down at my hands to inspect myself. I don't know what is happening but there are quite a few of us standing together, about fifty? I wonder how I know that.

I saw a few writing on their heads. "Grey Goblin, is that what I am?" Looking at my skin and theirs we look quite similar, except for their faces. Their faces are all different. Then what does mine look like?

'Level 0? What does that mean?' Looking around, the same writings appear again but this time differently.

"'Cave wall', So we are in a cave?"

Suddenly we hear a roar which brought me out of my thoughts. I feel scared. Another one like us walks, no, more like stomps towards us, and wow is he big. So much larger than any of us. He is wrapped in something on his upper body and another on his lower body. He looks weird.

I look at myself and the others and none of us have anything on us. Maybe we are the ones that look weird.

The bigger one stomped closer and he was very intimidating. I'm terrified but I don't want to back down. That should be normal right? Looking around me and everyone else seem to be frozen in fear as well. It seems it is not just me, but why are they shaking? Some were on their knees with liquids flowing out from their eyes. I admit I am terrified but why am I not acting like them?

Maybe I'm the odd one. No, not just me. There is another and he seems to be baring his teeth threateningly at the larger one. He pounces on the larger on a but all the larger one does is grab him by the neck. No matter how much the little one struggled it was just futile. The big one seemed to be enjoying the struggles of the little one judging by its loud laughter which rang through-out the place we are in.

The rest of our kind seem too afraid to lift their heads. Too afraid to even watch but not me. I just watch. I can't bring myself to look away because that is me: That powerlessness, that weakness, the fear. That is all me.

The larger one grabs the legs of our fellow one and begins to pull him apart slowly. Our 'brother' screams and struggles in pain trying to free himself with all his might but it is futile. With one final jerk and a savage grim on his face the larger one rips him clean apart as blood sprays all over him making his grin all the more terrifying.

That was all it took.

My hands hurt. Lifting up my hands they are balled up tight into a fist. I don't know when it happened but I do know that I don't like this feeling. This weakness. Not one bit.

"Now then if there are no more stunts like that then follow me." The large one spoke and walked away without even looking to see if we complied. Most of us began to walk towards him but I wondered, why don't I just run. If I leave right now, I could be free from all this.

No, that's just stupid. I have no Idea where I am and what sort of dangers lay out there, until then I can't just leave. Looking around, it seemed most were thinking of running as well. Almost on cue, three others began running the opposite direction.

I turned to look at the large man but he just kept walking away which made me frown. There was no way someone so powerful had not already noticed those three running. Then why doesn't he do something. Does that mean we can leave if we want?

I stopped in my tracks also thinking of leaving. They were quite a distance away from us and the large one had still not turned to stop them.

That's when it came out, burrowed out from the walls with a bang. It had a long body with a lot of legs, large and red in color with a black head with sharp teeth at the front?

The flame centipede witch quick speeds coiled around two of our brothers and bit their heads off in on quick chomp. Raising its head in a screech as if relishing in their blood it quickly began to chomp on the rest of their bodies.
