Chapter 13 : Demon Slayer

"IT WAS A TRAP! CRAP I SHOULD RUN, or not." I spoke purposely raising my voice. I tried to count the number of players that I saw, but lost count at eight due to an arrow. Side-stepping the arrow I looked at the archer that fired it. He was level 42.

"What did I tell you I would do if it was a trap." I said turning back towards Upsurge.

"You can't possibly attack me right now because I would see your approach," Upsurge yelled in reply, "and I am surrounded by all the highest leveled players, while you are only a level 65 wearing shitty armor" I couldn't take it anymore and used my teleportation skill. I appeared right behind him.

"Best not to overestimate yourself." I whispered before I slashed him five times. He died instantly under the barrage of my sword. The rest of the swordsmen all looked surprised and one even had the audacity to strike at me with a sword. Using the block spell that costed 1000 MANA, his sword slid off me. Teleporting back to the top of the temple I was debating on what to do. I don't want to show all of my cards at once so I'll just use the spell I created in that dungeon. I charged the attack and threw it before anyone had the chance to prepare. It wiped out everyone on the ground by dealing 1000 damage, so about half of the force that Upsurge brought. I looked over towards the rest of the enemy troops.

I ran over and climbed up the tree closest to me so that I could leap from branch to branch. Pulling out my katana again I went to work. Slashing and stabbing, since my sword dealt 500 damage at first blow onto a living thing, it almost always one shot them. After killing around 20 players, the others realized what was going on and tried to run. It didn't work. With my speed skill, they were like fish in a barrel. A big chunk of the force was all level 30 players. Too bad I couldn't get loot from killing them. Better walk back to the town. On the way back, I realized why they had all teamed up to kill me, It was an order from the crowned head of the city I had "betrayed". Shrugging, I realized that I may have to wage war on the kingdom someday. Having took my time, my group had all taken the trial, and had all passed gaining at the least 25 levels each, even Astral gained enough levels to make him on par with everybody else in the group.

"So, how did you all do against that snakion boss at the end? Pretty tricky right?" I asked.

"For the last boss I summoned that monster we beat and managed to subdue it." Vortex stated.

"Mine just took a bit of time from the poison I threw into it." MP tuned in.

'"It took forever but I managed to beat it by blasting it in the eye multiple times." Tempest answered.

"Um, I wasn't able to beat it first try, so I just killed all the monsters on the other floors for a long time until I was able to." Astral said.

"What did you do against it? You took a lot shorter of time then all of us." MP asked after Astral stopped speaking.

"Well, I got frustrated and combined a ball of lightning and Dark MANA and threw it at him doing ten points of damage each time…" I started but then trailed off as I saw their faces.

"So, one of your attacks did 10 damage to that thing meanwhile my poison could only do five points every like five minutes? That's absolutely insane, also what's your current level?" MP asked.

"Um, I'm level 100." I replied. That answer gave them all a heart attack.

"I guess that's reasonable since we all came out with a big level raise." Vortex stated after the shock came down.

"Anyway, I have something to say," I spoke, "I think the kingdom is going to wage war against us because I was attacked by the second highest leveled player and a bunch of level 30 and 40 players."

"And what happened?" Astral asked.

"I party wiped them," I said, "Anyway, I'm going somewhere for the rest of the day. See you all after I return." Turning to leave I used the skill to teleport. Reappearing 500 meters away, I used the skill once again then started to run the rest of the way. I was going to the dungeon that that Upsurge dude and I were supposed to beat. Appearing at the start, I entered. The dungeon was a single floor dungeon with hundreds of level 50 monsters. They were easily enough beaten, but didn't give me enough XP to level up, even after I killed my fiftieth monster. This is starting to be boring. There better be a boss that is at least level 70 or higher in this room.

Walking towards the room that I saw, I entered to the sight of a red demon sitting in a chair of skulls. Damn that looks cool as hell. Studying the boss I found that its level was 70 with a health of ten thousand. It carried a large pitch black sword that seemed to suck in the light around it. I. Want. That. Sword. I got shivers down my spine from looking at it; I could tell that it was powerful. Leaving no time for other details, I rushed in trying to startle it. As soon as I was within ten meters and closing, it opened its eyes and blocked my lightning fast strike with its black sword. In a fluent movement it changed that block into an attack, zipping at my head; I activated my defensive spell. The sword collided and sent me flying backwards. Grunting I regained my footing just fast enough to block the next attack, which still sent me flying but I was running as I landed. How the hell is this boss so powerful for a level 70!

I stopped and summoned a storm of lightning and Dark MANA. Launching it at the beast, I watched as the black sword cut the spell in half, but due to the nature of lightning, my attack did 500 damage due to the conductivity of metal. Using the spell again I expected the same result but the beast dropped the sword as the lightning hit it, causing the lightning to have no effect. How in god's name is this monster so smart that he is able to do that? Running in a circle, I blasted it over and over from different directions. This tactic worked until the monster used a skill. The skill made him a berserker that used health to make him more powerful. The remaining 2000 health slowly went down but so did mine.

The speed of the monster was on par with mine but his power was stronger, causing my health to slowly deplete. Our health was going down at the same pace so whoever could get a lucky strike in there would surely win. Finally my katana collided into his hand doing 500 damage. First strike I got onto him using my katana and not magic. The only reason I am tying him is because of his berserker skill using health. I would be losing if that didn't use health. After a few more minutes of intense collisions, the monsters health was at 100 and mine at 175. Both of us flipped backwards landing a good dozen paces away. His skill ended and my MANA was fully depleted. A good old sword fight to settle the fight, kind of romantic. Running at him, I put everything into one swing and swung. The demon must have thought the same thing and did the same thing. The Swords crossed paths and my katana shattered, pushing me back doing 150 damage. The shards struck the demon too and did 125 damage. Laying on the ground I watched five to six notifications pop up. I looked at them.
