The Assault

"Sir Arthas, Will you truly be able to help Alcemia? I have a child who works there providing us food and money here, Sir!" A villager shouted his plight.

"Me too, Sir. I have a daughter and his husband living inside the city!"

"Me as well. I have a niece that works on the committee there as well. Please save them!"

"Help us, Please my Auntie is a baker down the road. She makes wonderful bread please help her" Arthas, recognized this voice. It was Shuna who was desperately shouting at him for help.

After hearing his conversation and making a declaration others began to say their unfortunate situation about their loved ones and people they cherish inside the city. More and more came as more say about their circumstances.

"Alright, Fine, I'll help you after this we will be done. Got that? I don't want you guys to fully depend on me when it comes to stuff like these"

The ground echoed with a deep sound as it trembled from the steps of the behemoth that was walking towards Arthas, the black scales and red eyes that resembled the color of one's blood stood still as it was in front of Arthas. It lowered its head accepting Arthas's request to ride on it.

"I'll go on my own, Moltar and the others protect the villagers from harm, I'll try to make some 'friends' in the city"

Arthas climbed Morpehus's back as the enormous creature raised its head once more after Arthas boarded. He was about to take action but was stopped by Moltar's shout, although he was pretty up high from riding Morpheus he was still able to hear his shout clear as day.

"Arthas! Take me with you! I can help you get around the city I also know some friends there as well" He shouted with a hoarse but firm voice that can be heard clearly.

"I agree, Sir Arthas Moltar should help you inside and outside of the city. It's fine we can handle ourselves from here and I don't think lizards would wander here again" Noward gave a supporting claim.

After some time of thinking Arthas agreed to their proposal to bring Moltar with him, he was hesitant at first as the chain of command might crumble without him or Moltar he saw the eyes of the people desperate at the situation and the fact that they care more about the people in the city than themselves was heart clenching for him.

"Alright, Fine but if anything happens to this village that isn't on me anymore, better take care of yourselves. Let's go Moltar we must go fast"

With that, Moltar boarded Morpheus and they quickly went on their way. Arthas was constantly on guard with everything that might possibly happen and might come out, he was also thinking about more possibilities but more importantly the timer that was placed on Nemesis was going to expire.

Thinking that whatever would happen with his plan, there would be enough firepower to actually do anything and make them submit with ease and without much resistance to his request.

After looking at it one more time, he turned toward Moltar who was mesmerized by the scene around him, his eyes wide open with a gaping mouth to top off with hands clenched and sweating possibly from the height that they were on. Arthas gave a snort as he looked at him with a funny look.

"Hey, Chief, having fun with the view?"

"Huh…Oh. Yes, yes, yes I am… I apologize for everything Arthas. I knew it was bad decision-making to make you the chief village out of nowhere, but it was a desperate one. I also saw your prowess and I thought that you would be a great leader someday, Please forgive me for the presumptuous desperate decision that I have made"

"Apology, accepted and forgiven but never forgotten. I'll keep that in mind, anyways don't worry too much about it. What were you thinking when you had that plan in mind and when did you think of that?"

"When I saw you fight against that giant monster, I felt liberated, obliged to serve you from the moment you saved the village. I knew that I have failed my duty, feeling despair and isolation from the events that have occurred, now the village was destroyed, I felt like the world collapsed on me and that I just needed someone to take the responsibility…So I had to make the decision"

"Were the others against your decision? How could they easily accept such a proposal placing the village under new management."

"They weren't such accepting of this suggestion of mine until I gave them a reason to. I told them that we can storm into the city and take the children with force and then…"

"Then what? Does the city get revenge on the village? Is that it? I guess you didn't think far enough and let your emotions cloud your judgment."

"I am sorry for such insolence and short-minded plan…I was just desperate, she was my only hope to live after her mother died, and now… she was taken away from me…"

"...I am sorry for your circumstances, desperate as we are, a failure as we are. It is proof that we are human. No need to be such heavy on yourself, you made the other villagers happy, and not only that you made your village renowned and with reputation."

"But I cannot even save my daughter even from such dire circumstances. The decision that I made if placed into action could have possibly made things worse for all of us, including the villagers even after we left the village. I am the worst leader out there…"

"Remember Moltar, Decisions require judgment, and judgment requires thinking, when all there is, is feeling then thinking becomes useless and judgment will then take action without thinking about consequences"

"I'll remember that forever, thank you"

As their conversation stopped, the scenery began to slowly permeate the scent of death and fighting. The lush trees and the green plants that were all around them began to change from the fire and smog that can be seen from far away.

"I guess we are here, Moltar take care of yourself"

"Yes…"

"I'll unsummon Morpheus for now, we will take on foot as we take a look at the situation"

They dismounted from Morpheus and slowly approached the point of battle with careful steps and consideration of what will come out in the forest. Soon they both reached close and hid to not be seen while watching everything.

What they saw terrified them, there were battles happening outside and inside the walls. Blood of both men and monsters scattered on the battle floor. Bodies coated with armor and shields stood tall, clashes of metal and steel harmonized the battle's sound with a sharpness that scratches the ear.

Inside the walls were spiders that were crawling on the walls, devouring every human being it sees and people desperately fighting for their lives. Archers weren't able to provide support as they used their bows to fight the incoming spiders that loomed on their heads. Mages with their long staff used as a stick to poke spiders.

'At this point, those mages should be OOM right now, fighting up close while providing the support I would definitely be dry on Mana'

Outside of the wall were men fighting with lizards with their magic and swords, they were outnumbered but had the capability to fend off themselves. They were led by a man with Gold Armor and Golden hair that commanded and encouraged everyone with his scream. Beside her was a woman whom she knew with long pure-white hair and eyes of the radiant sun, she stood tall and would cast spells in an interval time frame.

"That man right there is Frederick the one with the gold everything, hair and armor. He was given the name "The Golden Star" because of his personality and appearance, rumor has it he is the kindest soul in the kingdom and might have the capabilities of the next Hero, everyone is expecting it since The Hero King Aislan, died a long time ago"

"Aislan?!" Arthas heard a familiar name that he didn't expect to hear.

"Yes, he was the hero that turned Alcemia famous and booming into what it is now, he was very powerful and was guarding this city until his last breath when the city faced an all-out assault from the enemy. Killing him and taking thousands with him in the process"

"I see…"

"And that right there next to Frederick is—"

"Alicia"

Moltar was surprised that Arthas knew who that girl was, he was wondering what their relationship was, but for Arthas, he only sees what was going on on the battlefield and her, the white hair that enamored the sun and wind as it flowed freely and firm. He remembers the night when the light of her eyes became dark.

'Nice to meet you again, Alicia'
