Chapter 46 Dominate The Grand Line? Buggy And Luffy

"Quack..."

Two hours later.

On an island not far from where Alan and the others were located, an unusual sight unfolded. The town, which should have been bustling with activity, was now eerily quiet and devoid of people. The streets, once filled with movement, lay empty.

Meanwhile, in the sky, the crestfallen giant bird flapped its wings, flying away with its head bowed and tears in its eyes. A slim figure with black-gray wings trailed behind it, descending gracefully from the heavens.

"That was so close, so close...," Luffy muttered, clutching his cherished straw hat. He had managed to intercept the bird and retrieve his hat by force, thwarting the bird's theft and securing his prized possession.

Relieved and jubilant, Luffy lovingly examined the hat to ensure it was unharmed. With a contented smile, he placed it back on his head. "Only you can make me feel safe, old buddy."

Amidst his triumph, a growl erupted from Luffy's stomach. His hunger was evident, compounded by the energy he had expended during his flight.

"I'm pretty hungry..." Luffy patted his belly, casting a glance at the wings on his back. "Flying for a while really takes it out of you..."

His gaze shifted to a nearby town. A glimmer of hope lit up his eyes. "Well, there's gotta be food in that town, right?"

Following this thought, Luffy transformed the wings back into their jar-like form and descended from a rooftop onto the town's streets.

As he made his way towards the town, a sudden explosion shattered the tranquility. Buildings, two or three stories tall, were instantly reduced to ruins. The once-vibrant area was now engulfed in smoke and debris.

Luffy's eyes widened in shock. "What's going on?" He scanned the area, trying to comprehend the sudden devastation.

Meanwhile, at the coast, a large pirate ship had dropped anchor. A flag bearing a distinctive red nose fluttered above, signaling the presence of its notorious crew. A group of fierce-looking pirates had gathered on the ship, united under the leadership of a figure with a pirate hat, a flowing cloak, a prominent red nose, and a skull painted on their forehead. Positioned before them was a massive black cannon, exuding a faint aura of heat.

"Captain Buggy!"

"These Buggy Balls you devised are incredible!"

"They demolished so many buildings in one go!"

A pirate with a menacing visage applauded with enthusiasm.

"Ahahaha~, of course, these are the Buggy Balls I designed!" The figure with the red nose and pirate hat proclaimed, triumphantly standing on the cannon. "With Devil Fruit abilities and Buggy's genius, I will conquer the Grand Line in no time!"

"What!?"

High above on the coast, a discontented voice interjected. "I'm the one destined to rule the Grand Line!"

The pirates exchanged baffled glances, completely caught off guard by the audacity of this claim. Never in their wildest dreams had they imagined someone would dare challenge the fearsome Captain Buggy, let alone openly provoke him.

The notion of an adversary boldly confronting Captain Buggy sent shivers down their spines. This wasn't a mere challenge; it was an outright affront to their formidable leader.

"Who dares?" Captain Buggy's voice crackled with anger as he confronted the impudent challenger. His tone was sharp, his annoyance palpable.

With bloodshot eyes and a furious expression, Captain Buggy peered menacingly towards the coast, where an unassuming figure stood. His gaze fixated on the young boy with a straw hat, who had dared to defy him.

Determined not to be outdone, the figure on the coast stood confidently, staring back at Captain Buggy. His hands rested defiantly on his hips as he faced the pirates on the ship.

However, he had no intention of bowing down before the infamous Captain Buggy. Instead, he announced with conviction, "I'm the one who's going to be the Pirate King!"

"One Piece?"

The pirates aboard the ship exchanged puzzled glances, unsure of how to react.

"Who is this kid?"

"Do you understand what's in front of you?"

"Our captain is Captain Buggy, known as the 'Clown,' with a bounty of 15 million Berries!"

The pirates on the ship felt a mixture of shock and awe. This upstart had dared to challenge their captain, whose notoriety was only surpassed by his brutality.

The figure on the coast stared up at Captain Buggy, nonchalant and unafraid. He tilted his head, examining the pirates on the ship. "So, your captain's name is 'Joker' Buggy? That's a 1 million Berry lower bounty than Captain Chloe I encountered in Shields Town."

"Hahaha..."

Captain Buggy's uproarious laughter reverberated across the water. Fuming with anger, he glared at the young boy on the coast. His smile faltered, replaced by a malicious grin. "Brat in the straw hat, did you really just claim you'll become the Pirate King?"

"Yeah, any objections?" Luffy stared straight back at Captain Buggy, unflinching in the face of intimidation.

Unruffled, Luffy's gaze remained fixed on Captain Buggy, awaiting his response.

Captain Buggy's rage surged. "I've seen countless arrogant brats like you..."

He balanced on the side of the ship, casting an imposing shadow over Luffy on the coast. His voice dripped with disdain. "But let me make one thing clear—your straw hat disgusts me to no end!"

With a flourish of his hands, Captain Buggy issued a command. "Men, make an example of this straw hat-wearing kid! Eliminate him with flair!"

"Yes, Captain Buggy!"
