"Is this the official flying tool?"
"Can it really fly? Like a regular soda can..."
As they observed Luffy holding the unremarkable black-gray jar, Nami and Zoro were taken aback.
Amused, Luffy's grin stretched from ear to ear. "If Alan says it works..."
He was eager to give it a try. The jar appeared ordinary to him, but he believed in Alan's words.
Without further delay, he inquired, "Alan, how do I use this thing?"
"Is there a button on it?"
Alan indicated the button on the jar. "Just press it!"
Nami chuckled, "Just be careful not to fall into the sea, Luffy!"
"Swipe—" With Luffy's head buzzing with excitement, he pressed the button on the jar as Alan had instructed.
In an instant, the jar transformed into a black-gray fluid that enveloped Luffy like silk. Gigantic black-gray wings sprouted from his back, creating the image of a fallen angel.
"Eh? It turned into wings!"
Nami's eyes widened, captivated by the unexpected transformation.
Zoro voiced his astonishment, "Can it really fly?"
Luffy experienced a slight tingle in his back as the wings formed. He felt a deep connection with the wings, similar to the bond he felt with the Tegu Magic Hand.
He instinctively flapped the wings, which responded seamlessly to his intention.
"Wuhuhu..." The colossal wings unfurled with a mighty gust, generating a powerful wind pressure that nearly toppled Nami, Zoro, and others on the deck.
With a swift motion, Luffy ascended into the sky.
"Yohoo-" Luffy's exhilarated voice echoed from above. "I'm flying!"
"Luffy, just don't go too far!" Alan called out, unable to resist the feeling of worry for Luffy's impulsive nature. "And next time, don't expect me to lend you this equipment if you lose it in the sea!"
Luffy's grin widened. "Don't worry, I got it!"
With a slight rustiness, Luffy maneuvered the wings. However, he quickly adapted to the new sensation, growing more flexible in mid-air and soaring at an astonishing speed.
"Stingy Nami, look, I'm flying now!" Luffy playfully taunted Nami, recalling her initial reluctance to lend him the Tegu Magic Weather Rod.
Nami responded with a huff, "My somersault cloud isn't any slower, and it's way more comfortable to ride on!"
In the sky above, Luffy reveled in his newfound freedom. He circled the sloop, diving and soaring to display his aerial prowess to Nami, Zoro, and others below.
"Alan, Zoro, Nami..."
A chuckle escaped Alan as he watched Luffy, arms raised, shouting with excitement and skillfully navigating the equipment. He admitted that Luffy's natural affinity for flight was remarkable, a testament to his pure-hearted nature. Luffy seemed perfectly attuned to such tools, making it possible for him to master their use in a fraction of the time that it would take others.
"He's quite the enviable one," Zoro mused, acknowledging Luffy's innate talent.
"You have a selection of flying tools?" Zoro inquired, intrigued by the possibilities.
Alan smiled, "When you've recovered from your injury, you can try them out anytime."
Zoro's eyes gleamed with excitement as he eagerly anticipated the experience.
Suddenly, Luffy's exclamation echoed from above, pulling their attention upward.
Apparently, his soaring had led to an unforeseen predicament.
"Ah! My hat..."
Alan, Zoro, and Nami tilted their heads to watch as Luffy's voice carried down from the sky.
Luffy had flown too fast, and his straw hat had been whisked away by the powerful wind, plunging into the sea.
"Rubber rubber...Extend!" Luffy stretched his rubberized arm in an attempt to snatch the hat from the air. However, his speed had caused him to overshoot the target.
"Uh-oh..."
Realizing he was about to lose the hat, Luffy extended his wings in an effort to regain altitude. But in his haste, he neglected to maintain his balance and plummeted into the water.
"Splash..."
A mighty splash followed, signaling Luffy's unintentional dive.
"What an idiot..."
Observing this scene, Nami shook her head in exasperation.
Alan and Zoro shared a bemused glance, understanding Luffy's impulsiveness all too well.
However, they had no intention of rushing to his rescue. Luffy wore the nano-level waterproof suit that Alan had given him earlier, ensuring he could easily resurface despite his Devil Fruit power.
"Wow..."
Luffy reemerged from the water, his expression a mix of determination and anxiety. "My hat..."
"Gah..."
Seizing the moment, a massive bird swooped down from above, grabbing Luffy's straw hat with its talons before soaring away.
Within seconds, the bird was a mere dot on the horizon.
Luffy's allies could only watch the spectacle unfold in stunned silence.
"Darn it, bring back my hat!" Luffy cried out, his voice carrying across the sea.
"Luffy, are you alright?" Nami's voice rang out from the sloop.
The vessel gradually approached the area where Luffy had landed in the water.
Luffy's anxious expression softened upon hearing Nami's concern. "I'm fine, Nami!"
"I'll be back soon!" Luffy shouted, his voice brimming with determination as he manipulated the wings to propel himself forward.
"Are you sure you'll find your way back?" Nami wondered aloud.
"No worries. Each piece of furniture I create has a built-in device to help navigate it," Alan assured her. With a small device in hand, he demonstrated its function by typing "101" into it. The device displayed two dots—a blue one representing their current location and a red one indicating Luffy's position.
"The blue dot is our location, and the red one is where Luffy is," Alan explained. "You can use this to guide us back to him."
Relieved, Nami relaxed slightly. "Well, as long as he's wearing that waterproof suit, he should be safe."
