'Your father? So I have a grandfather who is coming, and from the face of mother I guess he has no idea I exist. Or they really just have bad blood between them.'
Weis watched as his mother stared into the ocean, watching the ship gradually get bigger. He turned his head to the ship. His eyes widened, because that was not a small boat or ship. It was a Goddamned Warship for Tarnations sake. Who was his Grandpa, if he can take a Warship of the Navy to the South Blue?
"Mama, who is your papa?"
"Well. Weis, your grandfather is a person, who has his own head. He likes to take on the hardship of leading ordinary men and women of the navy, as well as leaving a mother pregnant with her child alone on this island. He did not come home for all this time. The only time he came back was when your grandmother was buried, after fighting with an illness for a long time.", Sera said with a sad expression on her face.
'So he is a bad guy. Got it.', nodded Weis.
"Let's go home and change our clothes. Also inform your father that he needs to be prepared."
Sera sighted and took Weis at the hand, walking briskly to their home.
After arriving home Sera told Weis to change his clothes and wash up. She went to tell Steel what was about to happen.
Steel had a great breakfast. After which he retrieved the Devilfruit, to store it safely. After that he trained with weights the whole day. Feeling his tired muscles and the sweat pouring down his body, he was glad he was on vacation. Training at home was 10000x better than training at base.
He had just finished washing up and changing into normal clothes, in his case were shorts and boots, when he saw Sera come towards him, with a tense facial expression.
"HE is here. HE is coming. I just saw HIS warship.", Sera said with gritted teeth.
"You mean your father is coming here? Right now?", asked Steel with an expression of wonder, which quickly changed into one of pure rage and bloodlust.
"GEHEHEHE, so I can finally meet him. Good. GOOD. Don't worry, love. You must be calm. No, scratch that. I need to be calm. This is a moment I have dreamed of."
Steel was tense but excited. His exhaustion gone, like it was never there. He knew her father was never there for her and she only met him once.
But nevertheless, HE was her father. So he can't kill him in rage. Beat him up? Sure. In righteous fury. A giant's fury, from the Gentle Giant.
Weis finished washing and changed his clothes, when he heard his father laugh.
'Well I guess I can understand my dad. Your wife was treated poorly, growing up. And the father responsible is coming. Oh boy, this will go ugly. But that is good. How DARE he. To my mother. Regardless of who it is, he get's a punch from me.'
Weis nodded to himself and then went out of his room to the kitchen.
There Steel and Sera were talking about first telling HIM about the marriage. And then introduce Weis, after his father had a "talk" with her's.
"Weis, could you wait in your room? We will call you, when we can introduce you."
"Why mama? I want to see papa beat grandpa."
"GEhehe. That's my boy. Fighting is in our blood. Time you see your papa fight someone."
Sera was shocked only after Steel had finished laughing, did she ask Weis.
"What do you mean 'beat up grandpa'?. No one is going to beat anyone."
"Gehhehe. Honey, Weis is our boy. He learned his mama was treated poorly. And he knows how much I love you, as does he. So it is natural that I want to punch your father, same as Weis. Right Weis?"
"Right. Bad people get punched.", nodded Weis.
"Gehehe"
"Gihihi"
Father and son were laughing at each other and seemed so carefree. To Sera, who was watching this, it looked like the most beautiful picture on the planet. She couldn't help but laugh with them. With the whole family laughing, the tension that hang in the air the whole time, since they got back, dissappeared.
After that Sera left to make dinner, while Weis told his father all he learned and experienced today.
After 20 minutes, all in the house could hear the footsteps.
*thud* *thud* *thud*
'He must be a large man, or he is fat ball. Gihihi.'
Weis held back his laugh at the thought of a fat blob, hobbling to the house.
He turned to his father, but Steel looked like he was at peace, sitting in the Living room. Waiting. Serenity incarnate. Ready for battle.
Seeing that Weis calmed himself, sat beside his father, and tried to calm his emotions.
Steel glanced at Weis.
Seeing him imitate him, he nodded his head and said, "When you have the time before a big battle, always try to be in your best state. Mentally and physically. Rest your mind. Discard distracting thought. Feel the force of your knees, sitting on the ground, and relax your muscles. Let all exhaustion flow out."
Weis listened to his father, he felt his knees, pressing into the floor boards, and imagined his exhaustion flowing from his knees into the ground below. Relaxing his muscles and discarding any other thought than to be calm. Waiting for his moment.
Steel watched this happen, and nodded. Pleased, his son took the teachings of Elbaf and made them his own in such a short time. This was the method all giants use, before a duel back on Elbaf. They only did this at home, because outside anything could happen. But at home, finding your peace was easier as well as safe.
*Knock*Knock*
Weis saw his mother take a deep breath, before she came to the living room.. After one last look at us, she went to get the door.
"Hello, father. Come inside. My Husband and son are waiting for you."
