Moon Young Jae’s homophobic family considered him a disgrace and held his freedom in their clutch. Even with being obedient, he was not free from their abuse. Young Jae was almost blinded and crippled by his father when he stood up for himself for the first time. Left to bleed and die, luckily, he did have a family who wanted to save him. It was twin cousins, who were disowned long before him, who saved him. Sad and hopeless, Young Jae became curious when he met his cousins’ friend, who understood him better than anyone, even without words. Curiosity got the best of him, and he ended by handing his heart, love and soul over a plater as a price. Slowly, Young Jae fell in love with everything about and around Min Jun and eventually fell for the man. Calculative Wang Min Jun entered Young Jae’s life accidentally. He challenged Young Jae's belief with a warm smile and flipped Young Jae’s world upside down. Min Jun read Young Jae like an open book. He planned to get over the little crush he had on his seniors' cousin brother but failed miserably. Min Jun did not like the often-visited ‘frown’ between those beautiful eyebrows and even the always singing of ‘sigh’ through those sinful lips. Min Jun made it his mission to change it only to fall for everything about Young Jae. Wang Min Jun carried his share of baggage, but he was well-prepared to meet the demons from the past head-on. But Young Jae became a mess whenever his past demons decided to pay a visit. He realised he did not have to face anything alone as he has a wonderful boyfriend who cherishes everything about him. Both faced their past demons and trauma together. When a person betrayed by a family fell in love with a person who holds his family above everything, sparks flew, and hearts soared in happiness. Will their story has a harmonious bell, or would it be a sea of misery? Teaser: Files were shattered all over Min Jun’s bed, and his laptop was placed on the bedside table. It chimed once in a while, indicating a new email for him to check. The work was piling more and more as he was diligently finishing it. Young Jae walked into his boyfriend’s bedroom to witness his handsome lover working hard. "Jun Jun! Are you busy?" Even though Young Jae did not want to disturb his lover, he knew he needed some help to impress his boss. "Never for you, love. Tell you what you need?" Min Jun did not lift his head from the file he was going through, but the warmth in his voice reached Young Jae's heart without fail. "Do you have a minute to help me in reviewing my monthly internship report? I have to present to our boss tomorrow morning." Young Jae pouted as he asked. Min Ju looked at his adorable tokki and smiled mischievously. "You are brave, asking your superior to help you sneakily. I can't do it for free. I need a huge bribe to help you. What are you planning to offer?" "Be serious. You have too much work to do." Young Jae chided his shameless boyfriend, who never failed to seize every opportunity to make him moan and groan as he takes him to the pleasurable heaven. "Exactly. I have too much work to do. If I am taking my time to help you, I need something in return. Something so tempting that I don’t mind cramping lots of things later." Min Jun smiled like a devil he was as he grabbed Young Jae towards him. The little rabbit who fell into the cunning wolf's lap did not even get a chance to protest as he was devoured breathlessly. Young Jae forgot why he entered the wolf's lair altogether. Min Jun pushed the files away to make space for his little rabbit to lay down comfortably. Young Jae’s report was long forgotten as a treacherous hand started to caress him again under the shirt as a sinful sound filled the room. Young Jae was irritated and decided against talking to the stranger who was observing every move of his… like a predator.
He couldn't help but shudder at the stranger's gaze. He turned his head away, not to give access to the stranger to observe him completely. The gaze was neither curious nor threatening. But he knew he was being assessed. Not able to see and verify if his instinct were right made him feel more helpless. The stranger was neither a friend nor a foe. He wanted his cousin to show up already and make the stranger leave already.
The forgotten nurse decided to make herself known by talking to the stranger.
"Mr Wang! I will get a helper. I need to move Mr Moon to the next bed and change the bedsheet." Every two days, his sheets were changed because of the heavy medicine stench.
"Get the in-house helper. I will move Mr Moon." the cold voice answered, and Young Jae could feel Mr Wang moving towards the bed. Young Jae panicked by the words and movement by the stranger.
"Chin Hae Hyung might take a while. Let's not disturb others work because of it. If you are okay, I will carry you to the sofa and bring you back once the bedsheet is changed." The voice was gentle, familiar, but still cold. Mr Wang sounded like he was coaxing a child out of obligation.
Even though Young Jae wanted to say no, he ended nodding the head in acceptance for some unknown reasons.
"I will have my hand under your knee and one under your shoulder." Mr Wang explained thoughtfully to avoid freaking him out. Young Jae nodded again.
He was gently carried, and the strong arm secured him safely. Usually, his cousin and the helped would do this together because of his multiple injuries. But Mr Wang did it effortlessly like someone with more experience in taking care of the patients. He felt safe in the arms of the stranger who knew what he was doing. Young Jae was seated on a fairly long sofa with the sofa's armrest against his back. Pillow was adjusted for his legs. The cold-stranger was behaving considerate and warm towards him. What was his real self? Young Jae couldn't help but ask the question himself.
Then he heard the rustling of the bedsheet. The nurse and the in-house help were not back. So it made Young Jae curious. He turned his head towards the noise.
Exactly at the moment, the nurse entered with the in-house help "Mr Wang, You don't have to change the sheet. We will do it." The nurse told him frantically.
"That's okay. Please get the new bedsheet." Mr Wang said politely. Young Jae couldn't fathom that politeness from the cold man.
"You are kind as always, sir." The in-house help said.
"I will leave then" with a polite words the nurse left.
Once the door was closed, Mr Wang spoke to the in0house help. "Is she new, Hyung?"
"Yes, sir. Ro Na Ri came here four months back. She lives with her old grandmother in the staff quarters. Her grandmother's husband and doctor Ro's father were siblings. That's why he gave her the job. She is trustworthy and harmless." the in-house help, Rim Mi Nam answered knowing the underlined meaning of the question.
"Did anyone else enter the room apart from you both?" The next question was asked to the in house help who was in his 30s. He almost grew up in the research centre. So he knew everyone and their need like the back of the hand.
"Boss told that apart from the nurse accepted by doctor Ro and me, no one should enter the room. Doctor Ro appointed Na Ri to be the only nurse to take care of the need." the helper provided the information.
"Okay. There was an issue in Chin Hae Hyung's work. I asked the security house to run the CCTV and see if anyone entered the room through the door or window when we least expected. Check the progress with them and let me know. You don't need to come personally to tell me, Hyung. Give me the call." Rim Mi Nam nodded in understanding and left the room.
Young Jae realised that the coldness, in the beginning, was not directed towards him but the nurse. Mr Wang doubted if she leaked the tender information. But when he realises that she was harmless, he was not cold anymore. He was polite to her even before Rim Mi Nam told about her. Then how did he figure out she was not the black sheep.
"She knew who I was without even I told her name, which means Uncle Ro told her. That means he trusts her. Mi Nam Hyung was comfortable with her, which showed she was reliable." Mr Wang answer startled him.
"How do you know what I was thinking?" the fear gripped his chest as he asked the question.
"Stop frowning. Knowing Chin Hae Hyung all these years, I am sure he would have spoken on the call explaining the issue while he was with you. Hyung once told me his cousin was smart and entering college early. So I assumed with the frown on the face you put most of the things together but still lost. That's why I explained." Mr Wang explained with ease.
All Young Jae could do was nod his head in acceptance but still puzzled. Almost half of his face was hidden. How could he read the expressions on his face? His explanation from before made sense and at the same time confused him as it lacks explanation.
