A Laugh that Tickled Heart
Dinner was not a quiet affair. Min Jun told him the stories after story about Kang Chin Mae's love to hurt Moon Chin Hae but would never let any third person say a word against his twin brother.
He was in the fourth story when they were about to finish dinner.
"Has Moon Chin Hae ever told you about him being the best man in Kang Chin Mae's wedding?" Min Jun enquired even though he knew Young Jae had no idea about it.
Min Jun never knew he would play all subtle trick to hear other ones' voice. Him being the one who talks more, Min Jun couldn't hear the soft voice often. So he decided to say all the wild stories to listen to the voice and capture the attention as much as he can. The bonus of comments appeared here and there delighted him.
"Nope… But Kang Chin Mae Hyung seems to hate Chin Hae Hyung!" Young Jae was bewildered when he heard the new piece of information.
"Hate is a strong word. It is more like dislike. Not in the bad way but something that exists between siblings." Min Jun felt the need to defend his Chin Mae Hyung, who he grew up with.
The hum he got as a response in a low-throaty-voice made his stomach flip. For a minute, he wanted to desperately look at the older man's eye and get lost in there. Everything felt very new around Young Jae for him. 'Who knew I would be a goner when I meet a stranger!'
"Well, Chin Mae Hyung asked me and BB to be the best man for his wedding. But Uncle Kang, his step-father noticed the sadness in Chin Hae Hyung for not being asked. Everyone understood that it was because Chin Mae Hyung felt more closely with us. The surprise was when sister-in-law said she would choose one of the best man and Hyung can choose one of the bridesmaids, like each other's friend. Young Jae had a ghost smile on his lips, trying to visualise all the drama and chaos of marriage. He felt sad for Chin Hae Hyung, but he understood the reason for Chin Mae Hyung's behaviour. Irrespective of being twins, they were strangers. Above all Chin Hae Hyung was raised by the Moon family, which caused immense pain in their mother. So it would not be easy to accept his twin for Chin Mae Hyung.
"Sister-in-law grew up in an orphanage. So we all thought she would ask someone she grew up with to be the third-best man. On the day when we went to give measurements for the suits, only we all knew she wanted Chin Hae to be one of the best men. Even Chin Hae Hyung knew it at that time only. He teared up and hugged sister-in-law for a few minutes and cried on her shoulder. We all thought Chin Mae would be against the idea of Chin Hae being the best man. But he just nodded his head and smiled at the choice."
"I think Kang Chin Mae Hyung just keep his guard up against Chin Mae Hyung, but he still cares and has some affection towards him." Young Jae couldn't help but let out a remark at this.
"Well, they are brothers' after all. There would be affection between them no matter how much dislike they show at each other" Min Jun said it while thinking about his siblings.
Young Jae smiled at the words. 'Wang Min Jun cares about my twin cousins deeply. They are lucky to have people like him in their life.' Young Jae couldn't help but let the positive opinion grew on the man who was cold to him on the first meet.
At the same time, the disappointment he received from his own sister for his sexuality and how hostile she turned towards him later made him feel the pain in his chest.
Noticing the sudden gloominess, Min Jun decided to dish out another story which could put Kang Chin Mae in the good page for Young Jae.
"You wouldn't believe me. Kang Chin Mae Hyung gave the shovel talk not only to Chin Hae Hyung's boyfriend but also to the entire family. He went to Kim Bin Hyung's house without informing them. He invited himself for dinner without even waiting for them to ask him to join. Then threatened Kim Bin Hyung in front of his parents and elder brother. Young Jae was surprised to know the antics of his recently found twin cousin. Min Jun couldn't help but feel regretful. He wanted to see the eye filled with surprise but the damned bandage hid the view.
'Well, health comes first. Maybe one day, I will see the dazzling eye... One day... Hopefully!' Min Jun pacified himself.
"Chin Mae Hyung acts like he hates Chin Hae Hyung, but he does care about him." Young Jae gushed about it.
"Well, he does. But in his own weird way. It is not like he doesn't show his care outrightly towards other people. You should see him with baby-doll. You would believe that she is his real sister. But when it comes to Chin Hae Hyung, he acts all cold but would always worry inside." Min Jun laughed softly at the antics.
The soft laugh ticked Young Jae's heart and hitched his breath. The pleasant feeling he had at the moment, made him want to hold on to it little longer that he should.
