Sadiki could be seen rather dejected as their temple does not have any Sun Shards this year. They already used it up during the period of darkest nights. The period of darkest nights is when the days become shorter than the nights which is not good for the western continent.
The Distorted God Apophis grows stronger during the period of darkest nights which is why they use Sun Shards to light up the sky. The Sun Shards are believed to send a signal to the great Sun God Ra to return to the skies. This custom also solidifies the belief needed to strengthen the western gods against their fight with Apophis.
"If that is the case then can you prepare three Sun Shards." Adrian stated as he casually took out two carapaces and two horns.
